Sin and Disobedience is something common in all the nations-Imaam Ibnul Qayyim]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

Firstly: Sin and disobedience is something common in all the nations.  It is something that has not cease to exist in the world amongst the Children of Aadam regardless of their different social classes; (be it) the common people, the ignorant ones, those who abstain from the worldly things and those desirous of it, the leaders and those under their rule.   This affair of (sin and disobedience) is not something specific to this Ummah of Muhammad, such that (the ummah) and its Prophet are censured as a result of that.

Sin and disobedience does not negate belief in the Messengers, for it can be possible for sin and disobedience to exist alongside belief in the Messengers.  And although disobedience diminishes the perfection and completeness of belief in the Messengers, however it does not negate it.

Secondly: Sins are wiped away through sincere repentance.  Allaah forgives the slave when he turns repentant to Him (Glorified Be), even if his sins fill the heavens and are of a great number.  Allaah said:

”Say: “O ‘Ibaadee (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allaah, verily Allaah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful’ [39:53]

This is the right of the one who repents because repentance wipes away the sin after it (was committed). Therefore, the one who repents from a sin is like one without that sin.

And Tawheed wipes away sins, as (mentioned) in the Hadeeth Al-Qudsiy: ‘O Son of Adam, if you were to meet Me with enough sins to fill the earth, then met Me, not associating anything with Me (in worship), I shall meet you with its equivalent in forgiveness.’

Therefore, strong Tawheed wipes away the sins of the Muslims; but if punished for their sins, they will be removed from the fire as a result of their belief in Tawheed.

As for the people of shirk and the disbelievers, their good deeds are nullified as result of the disbelief and shirk they are upon.  They will neither meet their Lord with good deeds in order to obtain safety nor will they be forgiven any of their sins.

Allaah (Glorified Be He) said:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغۡفِرُ أَن يُشۡرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغۡفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٲلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ‌ۚ

‘Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases’ 4:48

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَقَدِمۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُواْ مِنۡ عَمَلٍ۬ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ هَبَآءً۬ مَّنثُورًا

‘And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.’ [25:23]

Can a woman work even if she is not in need of money–Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahmahullaah)

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz was asked whether a woman is considered to be following her whims and desires if she works without being in need of money.

The Imaam (rahimahullaah) said that such a woman is not considered to be following her whims/desires. Her engagement n work is not tantamount to following desires/whims if it is noble and safe occupation, and carried out amongst women, without free mixing with men.  And she only works amongst women without any injustice and hostility, with the permission of her husband.

The Imaam (rahimahullaah) also said that there are different kinds of work, and if the work includes disobedience to Allah, then it is obligatory on her to abandon it. If it includes free mixing between men and women and showing her beauty, then this is also evil. But if it is work that is allowed or legislated by Islamic law amongst her Muslim sisters, such as teaching girls, or working as a nurse, or working as a doctor for women; then there is no harm in this and all praise is due to Allaah.

The questioner then asked the Imaam (rahmahullaah) what if the woman is not in need of money; so the Imaam replied saying that even if she is not in need of money, it is still allowed because she might want more money, or need it to give away in charity and so on.  Source: http://www.binbaz.org.sa/audio/noor/033907.mp3

NB: Women may face different circumstances in the West, so whoever finds herself in different circumstances (especially single parents or women without guardians) should ask the students of knowledge in the Salaficentres to present their questions to the upright scholars n the Muslim lands. May Allaah facilitate ease… Aameen

Shaikh Uthaymeen said: [أي إنسان يرمي المعتدلين بالإرجاء فإنه يميل إلى رأي الخوارج]–Another blow to the Haddaadiyyah!

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) said:

أي إنسان يرمي المعتدلين بالإرجاء فإنه يميل إلى رأي الخوارج

Any person who accuses the upright (scholars) of Irjaa, then indeed he is inclined towards the view of the khawaarij.

The Imaam (rahimahullaah) also said:

ولا أعلم عن الألباني قول يدل على أنه من أهل الإرجاء

بل هو سلفيٌ،سنيٌ،محدث،قل أن يوجد في عصره مثله

And I do not know of a statement from Albaani (which) indicates that he is from the people of Irjaa; rather he is a Salafi, a Sunni, a Muhaddith. It is rare to find someone like him in his era.

Reminder: Such was the victory bestowed by Allaah to the people of Makkah

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”Have you (O Muhammad) not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant? [The elephant army which came from Yemen under the command of Abrahah Al-Ashram intending to destroy the Ka’bahat Makkah]. Did He not make their plot go astray? And sent against them birds, in flocks, Striking them with stones of Sijjil. And made them like an empty field of stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle).”

The story of the army of the Elephants

This incident happened during the period of the birth-year of Prophet Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).  Abrahah Al-Ashram was the governor of Yemen on behalf of the king of Ethiopia (as Yemen was a part of the Ethiopian Kingdom).  He (Abrahah) thought to build a house (like the Ka?bah at Makkah) in San?a (the capital of Yemen) and call the Arabs to perform the pilgrimage there in San?a instead of the Ka?bah (Al-Bait Al Haraam) in Makkah, with the intention of diverting the trade and benefits from Makkah to Yemen.

He presented his idea to the king of Ethiopia who agreed to his idea.  So the house (church) was built and he named it Al-Qullais; there was no church of its like at the time.  Then a man from the Quraish tribe of Makkah came there and was infuriated by it, so he relieved his nature (stools and urine) in it, soiled its walls and went away.  When Abrahah Al-Ashram saw that, he could not control his anger and raised an army to invade Makkah and demolish the ka?bah.

He had in that army thirteen elephants and amongst them was an elephant called Mahmood which was the biggest of them.  So that army proceeded and none amongst the Arab tribes that faced them (fought against them) but was killed and defeated, till it approached near Makkah.  Then there took place negotiations between Abrahah Al-Ashram and the chief of Makkah (Abdul Muttalib Bin Haashim, the grandfather of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), and it was concluded that Abrahah would restore the camels of Abdul Muttalib which he had taken away, and then he (Abrahah Al-Ashram) would decide himself as regards the Ka?bah.  Abdul Mutallib ordered the men of Makkah to evacuate the city and go to the top of the mountains along with their wives and children in case some harm should come to them from the INVADING OPPRESSORS.

Then that army moved towards Makkah till they reached valley Muhassir.  While the army was marching towards Makkah, in the middle of the valley, suddenly it was overtaken by flocks of birds, flocks after flocks, air-raiding that army with small stones slightly bigger than a lentil seed.  There never fell a stone on a soldier except it dissolved his flesh and burst it into pieces.  So they perished with a total destruction.  Abrahah Al-Ashram fled away while his flesh was bursting into pieces till he died on the way (back to Yemen).

Such was the victory bestowed by Allaah (The All-Majestic, All Powerful) to the people of Makkah and such was the protection provided by Him for The Kabah.

‘’Having intercourse (with one’s wife) is a charity.”

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”Having intercourse (with one’s wife) is a charity.” [1]

In this there is: Perfect enjoyment; Kindness towards a beloved wife; seeking reward, gaining reward equivalent to giving Sadaqah, exhilaration of the soul, expelling bad thoughts, lighten the soul, expel her strain [and yours]; lighten her body and balancing her temperament [and yours]. If this happens in a good way, with gentleness and a lot of passion, complete desire and seeking reward, there will not be any enjoyment equal to it. [2]

Advice to the one who speaks ill of the people of knowledge—Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan

Question to Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him)

(Do you have) an advice for the one who speaks ill of the people of knowledge–those who establish refutation against the one who opposes the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)?

Answer:

It is (obligatory) upon him to repent to Allaah (The Might and Majestic) because he dislikes the truth.. Refutation against the people of falsehood is the truth. Clarifying the mistake of those who commit mistakes in knowledge is the truth. Clarification is obligatory. This (person) wants to conceal. This (person) wants to conceal knowledge, so it is (obligatory) upon him to repent and seek Allaah’s Forgiveness.
