Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:The sincere person tastes the sweetness of servitude to Allaah which prevents him from servitude to other than Allaah; for there is nothing sweeter and more comforting to the heart than the sweetness [found] in belief in Allaah–The Lord of the Aalameen.

The Correct Aqīdah – Makes You Humble – Shaykh Rabī B. Hādi

The Correct Aqīdah – Makes You Humble

Shaykh Rabī ibn Hādi Al-Madkhalī:

If Allāh makes firm a person upon His True Religion, upon the True Methodology of Allāh and upon correct belief, then this is a blessing from Allāh. Therefore, he should not be deceived by himself or be arrogant and proud.

Rather, he only humbles himself to Allāh (The Lord of all that exists) and thanks him (for making him firm) and he implores Him (The Glorified and Most High) to preserve his religion for him, and to avert from him dangers and deviation.

Trials and Tests Distinguish the Believer from the Hypocrite – Shaykh Fawzān

Shaykh Ṣālih Al-Fawzān (hafidahullāh):

From the Way of Allāh – The Glorified, The Most High – with his creation, is that he trials and tests them. He does not leave them without trials and tribulation, for if he was to leave mankind without trialling them, then the believer would not be distinguished from the hypocrite and the truthful would not become clear from the liar.

Do Not Betray the Responsibility you have been Entrusted with – Shaykh Ṣālih Al-Fawzān

Shaykh Ṣālih Al-Fawzān (hafidahullāh):

Save yourself from the fire by having taqwa of Allāh and (likewise) save your children from the fire by way of (giving them) righteous cultivation upon Islām and upon (performing actions of) the religion and having excellent manners. If not (i.e. if you have not given them this cultivation), then indeed you have betrayed the responsibility which you were entrusted with.

The Tongue is the Most Dangerous of Limbs – Shaykh Ṣālih Al-Fawzān

Shaykh Ṣālih Al-Fawzān (hafidahullāh):

The tongue is the most dangerous of limbs, due to this every limb frees themselves from the tongue, admonishes it and reminds it to fear Allāh and have taqwa of Him, by saying:

” Fear Allāh for our sake, (for) we are with you; if you are upright, we will be upright; and if you are crooked, we will become crooked.” [1]

Reflection: [O Allaah! Distance Us From This Type of Behaviour]

And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allah Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favour upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allah, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: “Take pleasure in your disbelief for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire!”

Reflect!

By the night as it envelops;

And by the day as it appears in brightness;

And by Him Who created male and female;

Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes);

As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him,

And believes in Al-Husna.

We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness).

 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient.

And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote);

We will make smooth for him the path for evil

And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction).

Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance,

And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world).

Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell);

None shall enter it save the most wretched,

Who denies and turns away.

And Al-Muttaqun (the pious and righteous – see V.2:2) will be far removed from it (Hell).

He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification,

And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return,

Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High;

He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise).
