Painful Memories About Some of Those Who Set Ablaze the Flames of Transgression and False Tabdi

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “The over-stringent ones are destroyed”.

Imam Nawawi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The over-stringent ones are those who look too deeply (into affairs) and are excessive- those who exceed the Hudood (prescribed legislated Shariah boundaries) in their statements and actions”. [1]

Falih Al-Harbi

Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

Falih had been rushing into (unjustified) elimination and declaring people Mubtadi’ah, so some youth asked him for proofs, but the proofs sought from him were not found with him. Then he resorted to the invention of a principle by removing Tabdi from the principles of the Imams of Al-Jarh Wat- Tadeel, and differentiated between the narrators of hadeeth and (when) declaring a person a Mubtadi.

He held that it is right to ask about the reasons for criticising (or disparaging) the narrators, (but) as for those about whom he holds that they are Mubtadi’ah, it is not right to ask about the reasons behind disparaging them and declaring them Mubtadi’ah, even if they are from the best of the Salafis; rather the one who asks regarding the reasons why they are declared Mubtadi’ah is declared a Mubtadi (as well).

This premise led him to say that the scholars must be blindly followed and not asked for proof. Who did he ask to blindly follow the scholars? Indeed, they are the intelligent students of knowledge, but rather the teachers and amongst them are some who have reached the level of doctorate, and not common people; and that the one who does not blindly follow the scholars has indeed undermined the message of the Messengers and the books, or has belied the Qur’an, the Sunnah and Islam.

He and his followers thought that he was the only Imam, the protector and protector of the religion. He pushed (incited) them and they pushed (incited) him, and thus he inflicted the heads of Ahlus Sunnah – the strong and the weak amongst them – with false Tabdee and unjust rulings.

Whoever does not blindly follow him, even if he holds a doctorate degree in Islamic Shariah, is considered a denier of the Qur’an, the Sunnah and Islam. The one who does not blindly follow him in his false opinion, even if he was a teacher, is judged to be one of the callers at the gates of Hell, and that he has destroyed the messages of the Messengers and the books that were revealed to them. This – in addition to insulting, attacks and warning – are matters that are neither approved by Shariah nor (sound) reasoning.

These – despite the fact that my advice to him was accompanied with kindness and contained only some of his mistakes – are matters that should motivate a sane and just person to return to the truth. We did not see anything from Falih except false denunciations, false interpretations, war, mobilisation, and seeking help through supporters amongst those whose identities were unknown – those hiding behind the curtains. At first, he found nothing from the scholars except advice, then denunciation of these matters. [2]

Fawzi Al-Bahrayni

Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

“Indeed, the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah – such as Abdullah Ibn Ahmad, Al-Khallaal, Al-Aajuree, Al-Laalikaa’ee, Ibn Battah and other than them – have clarified the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah regarding Imaan with a profound clarification. And that according to Ahlus Sunnah, it (i.e. Imaan) is “Speech, action and belief- increases with obedience to Allah and decreases with disobedience”. We worship Allah with what they say (i.e. this definition), we say it, believed in it from our early age (in pursuit) of knowledge, affirmed in our authorships, lessons and gatherings, and establish loyalty and disavowal based on that.

Then the sinful liars, the spiteful ones and plotters against Ahlus Sunnah came to fight on behalf of the people of desires, and they attacked us with various immoral attacks. One of those attacks is that they (falsely) accuse us of being Murji’ah, and they laid down false and unjust principles for that, with which they fight us. Whenever we destroy them, they repeated them without shame or shyness.

Their statement: “Imaan is speech and action, increases and decreases, and it decreases until nothing remains of it”, in their view is that whoever does not mention the addition “until nothing remains of it” is a Murji.

They made it obligatory on the people, wage war against Ahlus Sunnah and declare them Mubtadi’ah due to it, whilst these Aghmaar (inexperienced ones, ignoramuses, devoid of sound judgement etc) do not know that this Tabdee would apply to the righteous predecessors who did not constantly mention this addition, even if some of them did so.

They declared me a Mubtadi, pass the judgement of Irjaa against me and threw it on me a lot in a number of their statements, especially in the statements of Fawzi Al-Bahraini, even though I have mentioned this (additional) statement (related to the definition of Imaan) and repeated it before the birth of the old and new Haddadi (sect).

However, I do not always adhere to its mention, because the Sahabah and the Tabi’een did not say it, and because there is no evidence to obligate that it should be said. The majority of the (pious) predecessors did not say it, neither did those who said it always said it, nor made it obligatory on others, despite the fact that I do say it sometimes. The following are my statements regarding that….then the Shaikh, may Allah grant him Jannah Al-Firdaws, gave references in pages 61-63 regarding where he has stated this addition in his authorships and lessons.

I (Abdullah Jallow) will suffice with one InShaAllah as follows:

The Shaikh quoted a hadeeth explained in 1406AH under the titled “Striving Against Those Who Deviate From The Right Path”: Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet said, “Never a Prophet had been sent before me by Allah to his nation, except that he had – among his people – disciples and companions who followed his ways and obeyed his command. Then there came after them their successors who said whatever they did not practise, and practised whatever they were not commanded to do. He who strove against them with his hand was a believer, he who strove against them with his tongue was a believer, and he who strove against them with his heart was a believer and beyond that there is no faith even to the extent of a mustard seed”. [Saheeh Muslim Hadeeth 50]

Then the Shaikh said, “I explained this hadeeth and stated in page 44 [i.e. in Mudhakkirah Al-Hadeeth An-Nabawiyyah]: ‘And there remained – in every nation – sincere scholars who fulfilled the requirements of their religion- striving and defending the teachings of their Prophets, everyone according to his strength and level of Imaan; the one who strove by way of the tongue (i.e. speech), the one who strove by way of his hand, and the one who strove by way of his heart and that is the weakest of Imaan. And there is nothing of Imaan besides that”. [3]

The Shaikh, may Allah have mercy upon him, also said:

It is important to note that some overexcited youth may study the books of the predecessors, but not proficient in applying what is sound from the narrations, thus, they apply them in other than their appropriate place.

Therefore, it is essential to consult scholars on how to implement them because if one embarks upon applying some things incorrectly, he may harm himself, harm Islam and the Muslims. This issue occurred in the past, as some overexcited youth among the new and old Haddadiyyah focused on narrations (of the predecessors), while not memorising (and understanding) the Quran. They focused on the narrations of the predecessors, while among the narrations of predecessors, there are those that are authentic and those that are unauthentic. When they (predecessors) hold a consensus on a matter, it is obligatory to accept it; however, in cases of disagreement, their statements must be referred back to the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet. If a particular statement is not reliably attributed to so and so, it should not be accepted, and if it is reliably attributed to him, (but) contradicts (what is sound), it should be rejected. This is how these matters should be. They require Fiqh (sound understanding).

The Haddadiyyah used to memorise the narrations of the predecessors, and Ahlus Sunnah were the first people they wage a war against, attacking them through their hysterical reading (of those narrations), turned against the scholars and sought to topple them one after the other until targeting (Shaikh Al-Islam) Ibn Taymiyyah.

This trend has resurfaced through attacks against scholars and attempting to topple them while clinging to various narrations, some of which are authentic and others not, without grasping their intended meanings. [4] [end of quotes]

We ask Allah:

اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ لِي دِينِي الَّذِي هُوَ عِصْمَةُ أَمْرِي
وَأَصْلِحْ لِي دُنْيَايَ الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَاشِي
وَأَصْلِحْ لِي آخِرَتِي الَّتِي فِيهَا مَعَادِي
وَاجْعَلِ الْحَيَاةَ زِيَادَةً لِي فِي كُلِّ خَيْرٍ
وَاجْعَلِ الْمَوْتَ رَاحَةً لِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. Narrated Anas Ibn Maalik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “Do you know what Al-Ad’hu is [i.e. calumny]?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best”. He said, “Transmitting speech from some people to another people to destroy their (mutual relationships)”.

Al-Allamah Zayd Bin Hadi Al-Madkhali, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The subject matter of this hadeeth is about the dangerous (consequences) of tale-carrying in this Dunyaa and the Aakhirah. Indeed, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, called it Ad’hu, and the meaning of Ad’hu is to transmit speech from some people to other people to corrupt their relationships. And in the hadeeth of Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, it is explained to mean tale-carrying, and that is to transmit the statement of one person to another person, or from a group of people to another group, or from one country to another one, to cause corruption.

This is one of the major sins due to its evil and the punishment (associated with it) in this life and the next. In this worldly life, it may lead to murder, chaos, and other similar affairs – events that are in opposition to rectification. Due to this, the scholars say that the tale carrier- the one who transmits speech from one person to another person, or from a group of people to another group, or from one country to another, to sow the seeds of corruption- causes more harm than a magician. This is because a magician might only harm one person, but as for the tale-carrier, he might harm many individuals and the trial is prolonged.

Therefore, it is forbidden for a Muslim to transmit speech to cause corruption between those upon brotherhood and those who aid one another upon piety. And even if nothing like this [i.e. fighting, chaos, killing, etc] occurs, it is still not permissible to corrupt the relationship between the people by way of lies- sowing the seeds of enmity and hatred between them. The Messenger of Allah went past two graves and then said, “Both of them (i.e. the two people in these graves) are being punished, and they are not being punished due to (committing the greatest of the major sins), but indeed they are great sins. One of them used not to protect himself from being soiled with his urine, and the other one used to go about with tale-carrying”.

Therefore, what the opposite of this hadeeth (necessitates is that) it is obligatory to bring about reconciliation between the people due to the statement of Allah:

لَّا خَيۡرَ فِى ڪَثِيرٍ۬ مِّن نَّجۡوَٮٰهُمۡ إِلَّا مَنۡ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوۡ مَعۡرُوفٍ أَوۡ إِصۡلَـٰحِۭ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ‌ۚ

There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allah’s Cause), or Ma’ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 114]

However, there is an exception in this affair when it is carried out to give some sincere advice whose benefit cannot be reached nor can harm be repelled except by way of such speech. For example, you hear a person saying that he is lying in wait against your Muslim brother and wishes to kill him, take his wealth or violate his honour, or the like thereof, (whose evil consequences) you have clarified (for this perpetrator), but he refuses to accept your advice. Therefore, you go to the person who is unaware and inform him about it, so that he can take precautions. Therefore, speech based on this type of intention and goal is considered to be sincere advice and it is not tantamount to causing corruption, for indeed you are either going to repel harm or bring about a benefit which one cannot do without (except by way of this transmission). at-Taleeqaat Al-Maleehah Alaa Silsilatil Ahaadeeth As-Saheehah’ 1/27-28

[1] Some Foolish and Spider-Web-Like Doubts of the Mumayyi’ah

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

”It is incumbent upon you that (you) detail (affairs) and make a distinction, for unrestricted and general (speech) without clarification has already corrupted the existence and trampled upon the intellects and opinions in every era.”

Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, commented on the above statement:

There has to be detailed explanation. The one who is not proficient in detailing (an affair) should keep quiet because benefit is not acquired from his speech. And every time error occurs, its cause is due to an absence of detailed explanation between truth and falsehood. So there has to be detailed explanation, distinction and an absence of mixing up (matters).

Indeed, it may be that there is something of truth and falsehood in an opponent’s statement, so all of it is neither deemed to be false nor truth, rather a distinction is to be made between its truth and falsehood. Therefore, all of it is neither rejected nor accepted; rather a distinction is made between truth and correctness and the falsehood and error in it. And if you are not proficient in detailing (an affair), then you should not enter into this subject matter. [at-Ta’leeqaat Al-Mukhtasar Alaa Al-Qaseedah an-Nuniyyah: 1216

While the subject matter regarding deviation was presented, a Mu’mayyi who is blinded and deafened by propaganda, which led him to utter much nonsense, asked sarcastically: “The people of Bidah will not enter Jannah?!”

Nonetheless, out of leniency, even though this Mu’mayyi deserves very little of it, we will refrain from discussing his other ridiculous statements in this post. These misunderstandings are often shaped by his unjustified resistance when Salafiyyoon offer robust, unambiguous knowledge-based clarifications. As a result, he attempted to either water down the issue, or utilise deflection with sarcasm. Thus, we remind ourselves of the following points to clear up any confusion that may have arisen due to his lack of detail on that occasion.

Two Types of Bidah:

Bidah Al-Mukaffirah

and

Bidah al-Mufassiqah

 

Bidah Al-Mukaffirah: It is the Bidah that is tantamount to disbelief. Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali (may Allaah preserve him) was asked whether there is a difference between Bidah Al-Mukaffirah and Bidah Al-Mufassiqah; so Shaikh said that there is Bidah Mukaffirah, such as rejecting the Ruyah (i.e. denying that the believers will see Allaah in the afterlife); rejecting Allaah’s Uluww [i.e. denying that Allaah is above his creation –Allah ascended over the Throne in a way that benefits his majesty)]; invoking other than Allaah; offering slaughtered sacrifice (i.e. animals) to other than Allaah etc. These are affairs of Bidah Al-Mukaffirah (the bidah that is tantamount to disbelief).

But we do not make Takfeer of the people who commit this type of Bidah until we establish the proofs against them. That is because some of them (i.e. the people who fall into these affairs) carry doubts and are far away from the era of Prophethood and its light (i.e. guidance). So they fall into the likes these innovations.

Rejecting the Ruyah is disbelief; rejecting Allaah’s Uluww is disbelief; the saying that the Qur’aan is created is disbelief-major disbelief. But this person, -[who testifies that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allaah, and he prays,  observes fasting, wants paradise and believes in that] -received the doubts of the people of falsehood, so he falls into the likes of these affairs (i.e. these innovations that are tantamount to disbelief). So we say to him: You have fallen into disbelief and the evidence is this and this, and we clarify for him.  So if Allaah grants him Tawfeeq and he returns to the truth, then all praise is due to Allaah. But if not, we declare him a disbeliever after establishing the proofs against him.

As for Bidah Al-Mufassiqah it is other than this (i.e. it is not at the level of that which is tantamount to disbelief)…. [Abridged and paraphrased, see www.rabee.net/ar/questions.php?cat=26&id=484 ]

 

Who Are Those Qualified to Make Takfeer?

Question: O Respected Shaykh, who is the murtadd (apostate)? We hope for you to define it in a clear manner, for sometimes the judgement of apostasy can be made upon a person while there is some doubt that he had.

Al-Allamah Salih al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, responds: “

The judgement of apostasy and expelling someone from the religion is only appropriate for the people of knowledge who are firmly grounded in knowledge, and they are the judges in the various Sharee’ah law courts, and those who are able of giving legal verdicts. And this is just like the other matters, and it is not the right of every person, or from the right of those who are learning, or those who ascribe themselves to knowledge, but who have deficiency in understanding. It is not appropriate for them to make judgements of apostasy (upon others). Since, mischief will arise from this, and sometimes a Muslim might be judged as an apostate but he is not actually so. And the takfir of a Muslim who has not committed one of the nullifications of Islaam contains great danger. Whoever says to his brother “O Kaafir” or O Faasiq, and he is not like that, then the words will fall back upon the one who said them.

Hence, the ones who actually judge with apostasy are the legislative judges and those who are able and fit for giving legal verdicts. And as for those who enforce the judgements they are the leaders of the Muslims (wullaat al-amr). As for whatever is other than this, then it is mere confusion.”

Question: Some of the students of knowledge are a bit lax towards applying the word of apostasy (riddah) to a Muslim, and this person might sometimes be asked by the Muslims to carry out the hadd punishment for apostasy – when the Sultaan does not carry it out – upon the one they consider deserves it, the one who has been judged with apostasy.

Response: Meting out the punishments is only appropriate for the leader of the Muslims and it is not for every person to establish the punishment, since confusion, and corruption necessarily follows from this, and also the cutting off of the society, tribulations and provocations occur. Establishing the punishments is appropriate (i.e. befits only) to the Muslim leader. The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) said, Pardon each other for the punishments that are between you, but when the execution of the punishment reaches the [authority of the] Sultaan, then Allaah curses both the one who seeks intercession and the one who grants the intercession [i.e. to revoke the punishment].

And from the responsibilities of the Sultaan in Islaam, and from those matters that befit him is the establishment of the punishments after they have been established legislatively, via the Sharee’ah law courts, upon the one who fell into the crime for which the legislator has designated a specific punishment, such as for stealing. So what has been said is that establishing the punishments (i.e. meting them out) is from the rights of the Sultaan, and when the Muslims do not have a Sultaan amongst them, then they should just suffice with commanding the good and forbidding the evil, and calling to Allaah, the Might and Majestic, with wisdom, good admonition and arguing with that which is best. And it is not permissible for individuals (in the society) to establish the hudood, since that, as we have mentioned, will bring about chaos, and also provocations, and tribulations will arise, and this contains greater corruption than it contains rectification. And from amongst the Sharee’ah principles that are submitted to is, “Repelling the harmful things takes precedence over bringing about the beneficial things. [End of quote]

Finally: This Mu’mayyi should not make one heedless of the severity of bidah and its people, even if the bidah is not the one that is tantamount to disbelief.

He should have detailed this matter, but obviously he was overwhelmed by that ranting and raving, and flattered by the false praise showered on him by the Hizbiyyun, which caused him to neglect this important clarification. So do not become negligent like him. Bidah is a serious matter. The following is brief reminder from an article at www.salafipublications.com, as follows…..

Linguistically bid’ah (innovation) means ‘a newly invented matter’. The Sharee’ah definition of bid’ah is: “A newly invented way [beliefs or action] in the religion, in imitation of the Sharee’ah (prescribed Law), by which nearness to Allaah is sought, [but] not being supported by any authentic proof – neither in its foundations, nor in the manner in which it is performed.” Al-I’tisaam of ash-Shaatibee (1/37).

The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Every innovation is misguidance and going astray” Reported by Abu Daawood (no. 4607), at-Tirmidhee (no. 2676) and it is saheeh. Ibn Hajr authenticated it Takhreej Ahaadeeth Ibn ul-Haajib (1/137).

And he (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) also said: “… and every innovation is misguidance and all misguidance is in the Hellfire.” Reported by an-Nasaa’ee (1/224) from Jaabir bin Abdullaah and it is saheeh as declared by Shaikh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah in Majmoo’ ul-Fataawaa (3/58).

The Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) also warned against the People of Innovation, from befriending, supporting or taking from them saying: “Whoever innovates or accommodates an innovator then upon him is the curse of Allaah, His Angels and the whole of mankind.” Reported by Bukhaaree (12/41) and Muslim (9/140)

And in his footsteps, we find the Noble Companions and the Taabi’een after them warning from the danger of innovations upon the Ummah, its people and their unity, since it is innovations which have divided the Ummah and split it asunder.

Ibn Abbaas (d. 68H) said: “Indeed the most detestable of things to Allaah are the innovations.” Reported by al-Bayhaqee in as-Sunan al-Kubraa (4/316)

Ibn Umar (d. 84H) said: “Every innovation is misguidance, even if the people see it as something good.” Reported by Abu Shaamah (no. 39)

Michael and Louis, Stop the Exaggeration: Antisemitism Isn’t the World’s Oldest Hatred

Allah, The Most High, says:

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [Al-Baqarah 42]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

He (Allah) prohibits mixing truth with falsehood and concealing (truth). Mixing truth with falsehood is to confound truth with falsehood until one of them is confused for the other, and from this (results) deception, fraudulent maneuver, and cheating whose underlying reality contradicts the outward appearance. Similarly, when the truth is cloaked in falsehood, the perpetrator manifests falsehood in the image of truth and utters a wording that carries two meanings—a correct meaning and a false one, thus the listener may mistakenly think that the perpetrator intended the correct meaning, while his actual intent is falsehood. This is Ijmaal Fil Lafdh [general, unrestricted  wording (or speech)]. As for ambiguity in meaning, it can manifest in two ways; one of which is truth while the other is false; its correct intended aspect is misconstrued, thus its intended meaning becomes false. The basis of Bani Adam’s misguidance lies in general wordings and ambiguous meanings, particularly when they encounter confused minds; so how about when accompanied by vain desires and fanatism? Therefore, ask the One (Allah) Who keeps the hearts steadfast to keep your heart steadfast in the religion He has ordained, and not allow you to fall into this darkness. [1]

If the speaker falls short in his clarification and addresses the listener with vague terms that may encompass various interpretations, and the listener remains uncertain of the intended meaning; if this arises from the speaker’s inability, the listener is given from the speaker’s inability rather than his intent. If the speaker possesses the ability and he does not do so while it is obligated to him to do so, he gives the listener from his evil intent. [2]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, as follows:

It is incumbent that the expression conveys the intended meaning through the appropriate terminology. Should the term be explicit or evident, the objective is achieved. However, if the term possesses dual interpretations—one valid and the other erroneous—the intended meaning must be clarified. In instances where the term suggests a flawed interpretation, it should only be employed with an explanation that mitigates any potential misunderstanding.

Furthermore, if the term may mislead certain listeners into grasping an incorrect meaning, it should not be used if it is known to carry such implications, as the primary aim of communication is clarity and understanding. Conversely, if the term accurately reflects the intended meaning but some individuals remain unaware of its significance without any negligence on the speaker’s part, the responsibility lies with the listener, not the speaker”. Indeed, the rejection of Tawhid and the teachings of Allah’s Messengers stands as the most ancient source of animosity between the noble Messengers, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and their adversaries, rather than antisemitism. [Footnote a] It is utterly ludicrous to delve into a topic and inflate its significance to a degree that distorts their true nature. Antisemitism, like any form of racial prejudice and unwarranted animosity, is unequivocally condemned. In fact, Zionism exemplifies an ideology that exacerbates the deepest divisions among humanity, as it diverges from the essence of pure monotheism and the path laid out by the Prophets. However, our focus here is not on that specific issue; rather, we aim to highlight that the most enduring hatred is perpetuated by those who seek to eradicate pure monotheism and the teachings of the Messengers, replacing them with their concocted paths and vain desires. Thus, they nurture profound enmity towards those who have historically endeavoured to uphold pure monotheism. The Messengers themselves were the first to face this lethal hostility from their own communities, which is why those among the Jews who rejected the noble Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, relentlessly pursued his death, but Allah protected him. Let us now reference select verses from the Qur’an that illuminate this ancient animosity.

Allah, The Exalted, said:

وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّٰغُوتَ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (nation) a Messenger (saying): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc.i. e. do not worship false deities).” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [An-Nahl. 36]

In the hadith Qudsi, the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said that Allah said: “Indeed, I have created all of My servants inclined to worship (Me alone), but devils come to them who turn them away from their religion (of pure monotheism). They outlaw what has been made lawful for them, and they command them to associate partners with Me for which no authority has been revealed”. [Sahih Muslim 2865]

Allah said:

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوٓا۟ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَءَاثَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ فَرِحُوا۟ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those before them? They were more numerous than them and mightier in strength, and in the traces (they have left behind them) in the land, yet all that they used to earn availed them not. Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things): And that at which they used to mock, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment). [Ghafir 82-83]

Allah said:
وَمَا نُرْسِلُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَيُجَٰدِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا۟ بِهِ ٱلْحَقَّ وَٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ ءَايَٰتِى وَمَآ أُنذِرُوا۟ هُزُوًا

And We send not the Messengers except as giver of glad tidings and warners. But those who disbelieve, dispute with false argument, in order to refute the truth thereby. And they treat My Signs, and that with which they are warned, as jest and mockery! [Al-Kahf 56]

Allah said:
وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّقَوْا۟ لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِم بَرَكَٰتٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبُوا۟ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ

And if only the people of the various townships (to whom we sent messengers) had believed (in their call to pure monotheism) and displayed piety (by abiding by Allāh’s commands), we would have certainly opened up blessings upon them from the sky and from the earth. But they belied (the Messengers), so we seized them (in retribution) for the deeds (of ingratitude and disbelief) they used to earn. https://www.thenoblequran.com/q/#/search/7_96

Allah said:
وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَصَبَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا كُذِّبُوا۟ وَأُوذُوا۟ حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰهُمْ نَصْرُنَا وَلَا مُبَدِّلَ لِكَلِمَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَكَ مِن نَّبَإِى۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Verily, (many) Messengers were denied before you (O Muhammad), but with patience they bore the denial, and they were hurt, till Our Help reached them, and none can alter the Words (Decisions) of Allah. Surely there has reached you the information (news) about the Messengers (before you). [Al-An’am 34]

Allah said:
سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ ءَايَٰتِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كُلَّ ءَايَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ سَبِيلَ ٱلْغَىِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَكَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا غَٰفِلِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآءِ ٱلْءَاخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَٰلُهُمْ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ

I shall turn away from My Ayat (verses of the Quran) those who behave arrogantly on the earth, without a right, and (even) if they see all the Signs, they will not believe in them. And if they see the way of righteousness (monotheism, piety, and good deeds), they will not adopt it as the Way, but if they see the way of error (polytheism, crimes and evil deeds), they will adopt that way, that is because they have rejected Our Signs and were heedless (to learn a lesson) from them. Those who deny Our Signs and the Meeting in the Hereafter (Day of Resurrection,), vain are their deeds. Do they expect to be rewarded with anything except what they used to do? [Al-A’raf 146-147]

Allah aid about the first Messenger, Nuh, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَٰهُ وَٱلَّذِينَ مَعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا عَمِينَ

But they belied him, so We saved him and those along with him in the ship, and We drowned those who belied Our Signs. They were indeed a blind people. [Al-A’raf 64]

Allah said after mentioning the story of Nuh, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:
ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَا كُلَّ مَا جَآءَ أُمَّةً رَّسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُم بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَٰهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ فَبُعْدًا لِّقَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ

Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. [Al-Muminun 44]

Allah said:
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱرْجُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْءَاخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَٰثِمِينَ

And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), We sent their brother Shu’aib (Shuaib). He said: “O my people! Worship Allah, and hope for (the reward of good deeds by worshipping Allah Alone, on) the last Day, and commit no mischief on the earth as Mufsidun (those who commit great crimes, oppressors, tyrants, mischief-makers, corrupts). And they belied him [Shu’aib (Shuaib)], so the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their dwellings. [Al-Ankabut 36-37]

Allah [The Exalted] said:

وَإِلَىٰ مَدۡيَنَ أَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبً۬ا‌ۗ قَالَ يَـٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَڪُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُ ۥ‌ۖ قَدۡ جَآءَتۡڪُم بَيِّنَةٌ۬ مِّن رَّبِّڪُمۡ‌ۖ فَأَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡڪَيۡلَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تُفۡسِدُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بَعۡدَ إِصۡلَـٰحِهَا‌ۚ ذَٲلِڪُمۡ خَيۡرٌ۬ لَّكُمۡ إِن ڪُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ كُنْتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ وَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
وَإِن كَانَ طَآٮِٕفَةٌ۬ مِّنڪُمۡ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦ وَطَآٮِٕفَةٌ۬ لَّمۡ يُؤۡمِنُواْ فَٱصۡبِرُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَحۡكُمَ ٱللَّهُ بَيۡنَنَا‌ۚ وَهُوَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡحَـٰكِمِينَ
قَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦ لَنُخۡرِجَنَّكَ يَـٰشُعَيۡبُ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَكَ مِن قَرۡيَتِنَآ أَوۡ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِى مِلَّتِنَا‌ۚ قَالَ أَوَلَوۡ كُنَّا كَـٰرِهِينَ
قَدِ ٱفۡتَرَيۡنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنۡ عُدۡنَا فِى مِلَّتِڪُم بَعۡدَ إِذۡ نَجَّٮٰنَا ٱللَّهُ مِنۡہَا‌ۚ وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَآ أَن نَّعُودَ فِيہَآ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا‌ۚ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ عِلۡمًا‌ۚ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَا‌ۚ رَبَّنَا ٱفۡتَحۡ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡفَـٰتِحِينَ
وَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦ لَٮِٕنِ ٱتَّبَعۡتُمۡ شُعَيۡبًا إِنَّكُمۡ إِذً۬ا لَّخَـٰسِرُونَ
فَأَخَذَتۡہُمُ ٱلرَّجۡفَةُ فَأَصۡبَحُواْ فِى دَارِهِمۡ جَـٰثِمِينَ
ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ شُعَيۡبً۬ا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَغۡنَوۡاْ فِيهَا‌ۚ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ شُعَيۡبً۬ا كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنۡهُمۡ وَقَالَ يَـٰقَوۡمِ لَقَدۡ أَبۡلَغۡتُڪُمۡ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّى وَنَصَحۡتُ لَكُمۡ‌ۖ فَكَيۡفَ ءَاسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمٍ۬ كَـٰفِرِينَ

And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), (We sent) their brother Shu’aib. He said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. [La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)].” Verily, a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, that will be better for you, if you are believers. “And sit not on every road, threatening, and hindering from the Path of Allah those who believe in Him. and seeking to make it crooked. And remember when you were but few, and He multiplied you. And see what was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, liars). And if there is a party of you who believes in that with which I have been sent and a party who do not believe, so be patient until Allah judges between us, and He is the Best of judges.” The chiefs of those who were arrogant among his people said: “We shall certainly drive you out, O Shu’aib, and those who have believed with you from our town, or else you (all) shall return to our religion.” He said: “Even though we hate it! “We should have invented a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion, after Allah has rescued us from it. And it is not for us to return to it unless Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord comprehends all things in His Knowledge. In Allah (Alone) we put our trust. Our Lord! Judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of those who give judgment.” The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said (to their people): “If you follow Shu’aib, be sure then you will be the losers!” So the earthquake seized them and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes. Those who belied Shu’aib, became as if they had never dwelt there (in their homes). Those who belied Shu’aib, they were the losers. Then he (Shu’aib) turned from them and said: “O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord’s Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then how can I sorrow for the disbelieving people’s (destruction).” [Surah Al-A’raaf. 85-93]

Allah said about those Jews who rejected the Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَقَفَّيْنَا مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ بِٱلرُّسُلِ وَءَاتَيْنَا عِيسَى ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَيَّدْنَٰهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ أَفَكُلَّمَا جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولٌۢ بِمَا لَا تَهْوَىٰٓ أَنفُسُكُمُ ٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ فَفَرِيقًا كَذَّبْتُمْ وَفَرِيقًا تَقْتُلُونَ

And indeed, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book and followed him up with a succession of Messengers. And We gave ‘Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), clear signs and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some, you killed. [Al-Baqarah 83]

Allah said about the pagan Arabs:
وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَثَمُودُ
وَقَوْمُ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ
وَأَصْحَٰبُ مَدْيَنَ وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَىٰ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

And if they belie you (O Muhammad), so were belied the Prophets before them, (by) the people of Nuh (Noah), ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Ibrahim (Abraham) and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of Madyan (Midian); and belied was Musa (Moses), but I granted respite to the disbelievers for a while, then I seized them, and how (terrible) was My Punishment (against their wrong-doing). [Al-Hajj 42-45]

Allah, The Most High, said:
قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ وَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَڪَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تُشَـٰٓقُّونَ فِيہِمۡ‌ۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ إِنَّ ٱلۡخِزۡىَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلۡڪَـٰفِرِينَ

Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and will say: “Where are My (so called) ‘partners’ concerning whom you used to disagree and dispute (with the believers, by defying and disobeying Allah)?” Those who have been given the knowledge (about the Torment of Allah for the disbelievers) will say: “Verily! Disgrace this Day and misery are upon the disbelievers. [Surah An-Nahl. 26-27]

[قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ – Those before them indeed plotted]: The Mufassiroon say that this refers to Namrood who built a tall tower in order to climb – as he claimed – the heavens and fight its inhabitants.

[فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ – but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them]: The Mufassiroon say: Allah sent a wind which flung the top of the tower to the sea and the rest was destroyed. [وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ – and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive]: Meaning, from where they thought they were safe. [ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ – Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace]: Meaning, disgraced with punishment. [4]

[قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ – Those before them indeed plotted]: Meaning plotted against their Messengers, employed various types of tricks in order to reject that which the messengers brought and established gigantic safeguards [by way of arguments, views etc] on their plots. [فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ – but Allah struck at the foundation of their building]– Meaning, an affair came to them from its basis and foundation [فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ – and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them] -Meaning, so what they built became a punishment for them. [وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ – and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive]: Meaning, that is because they thought that such a building will benefit and protect them from punishment, but their punishment occurred from that which they built and established.

This is one the best of parables regarding how Allah nullifies the plots of his enemies, for indeed they pondered and reflected on that which the Messengers brought when they belied them, made up principles and rules for it based on falsehood, referred back to them to reject that which the Messengers came with, employed tricks to bring discomfort to the Messengers and inflict harm on them and those who followed them, but their plot became a source of evil against them, so their plan became their destruction, because their plot was evil as Allah said: [َلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ – But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it]. This is in this worldly life and the punishment in the afterlife would be more disgraceful, and due to this Allah said: [ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ – Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them]. Bad Behaviour, Obstinacy, Lies and Plotting of The Majority of ( الْمَلَأُ ) Throughout Human History!

This is the oldest struggle between the people of Iman and the people of Kufr. Nevertheless, the people of sound Iman and adherents to the sound Prophetic Methodology do not overstep their bounds in dealing with members of society. They stand apart from groups such as the Zionists, the Kharijites of ISIS, and others of that nature.

A Brief Defense of the Noble Messiah Against Potty-mouthed Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mecry.

Allah, The Most High, said:

إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلْأَشْهَٰدُ
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ وَلَهُمُ ٱللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلدَّارِ

Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) in this world’s life and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth, (i.e. Day of Resurrection); the Day when their excuses will be of no profit to Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah). Theirs will be the curse, and theirs will be the evil abode (i.e. painful torment in Hell-fire). [Ghafir 51-52]

The potty-mouthed Yosef said while rebuking Christians: “And JC will turn up to redeem the world. He will put us all to be burn in hell. You are worshipping a dead man who was killed…crucified , couldn’t save himself”. [end of quote]

Response: This is the venomous disbelief spewed from the mouth of this foul-mouthed adversary of the noble Messiah, the son of the honorable Maryam, peace be upon them, just as his predecessors expressed similar disbelief and malice. Truly, there is no need to elaborate on the lofty status of this great Messenger of Allah, as it suffices that his Lord has praised him, along with the leader of the Messengers, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Instead, we will directly engage in the discussion about the fact that the noble Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was neither crucified nor killed by the envious disbelievers among Bani Israel. Allah stated:

وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِنْهُ مَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينًا
بَل رَّفَعَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَزِيزًا حَكِيمًا

And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]: But Allah raised him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise. [An-Nisa 157-158]

إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.

Imam Ibn kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: (Meaning): “We (i.e. the plotters) have killed this one (i.e. Jesus) who claimed this position (or rank) for himself”. This statement was made from the angle of false accusation and mockery, similar to the statement of the polytheists:

يا أيها الذي نزل عليه الذكر إنك لمجنون

O you to whom the Reminder has been revealed, indeed you are insane. [Al-Hijr 6]

“The Rabbis of the Jews (at that time) – when Allah sent Isa (Jesus), the son of Mary, with clear signs and guidance- they envied him for the prophethood and the remarkable miracles bestowed upon him. These miracles included healing the blind and the leprous, as well as raising the dead by Allah’s permission. He fashioned a bird from clay, breathed into it, and it became a living bird that flew by Allah’s will, among other miracles that Allah honored him with and manifested through his hands. Despite this, they belied and opposed him, and endeavored to harm him in every possible way until the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, could not reside among them in the town; instead, he and his mother, peace be upon them, frequently traveled. Yet, this was not enough to satisfy them, as they sought the king of Damascus at that time—a man who was a polytheist and a worshiper of celestial bodies, known as the Greeks. They reported to him that there was a man in Jerusalem who was misleading the people and corrupting the king’s subjects. This infuriated the king, prompting him to write to his deputy in Jerusalem, instructing him to take precautions against the mentioned individual, to crucify him, and to place a crown of thorns upon his head, in order to stop harm on the people”…until the point at which Imam Ibn Kathir stated:

“Indeed, Allah has clarified and elucidated the matter in the magnificent Quran, which He revealed to His noble Messenger, supported by miracles, clear signs, and evident proofs. He, (Allah) – [The Most truthful in speech, the Lord of the entire existence, the one who knows the secrets and innermost thoughts, knows the hidden in the heavens and the earth, knows all that has occurred, all that is to occur (and occurring), and all that did not occur and how it would have occurred if it was to occur] – stated: [وما قتلوه وما صلبوه ولكن شبه لهم – And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)]. They saw someone resembling him and mistakenly believed it to be him, thus Allah stated: [وإن الذين اختلفوا فيه لفي شك منه ما لهم به من علم إلا اتباع الظن – and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture]. [وما قتلوه يقينا بل رفعه الله إليه – For surely; they killed him not [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]: But Allah raised him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens)]. Meaning, those among the Jews who claimed to have killed him and those among the ignorant Christians who believed the same; all of them are in doubt, confusion, misguidance, and error. Thus, Allah stated: [وما قتلوه يقينا – For surely; they killed him not] – Meaning, they were not certain it was him, but rather were in doubt and delusion. [1]

[وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ – And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)].

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

This statement was directed towards the Jews (i.e. those among them who plotted against Isa), and dispraised them for their actions. The Christians were not mentioned because it was those (particular) Jews who were responsible for the crucifixion of the one who was likened to Jesus. None of the Christians were present with them; in fact, the disciples were fearful and absent, thus no one among them witnessed the crucifixion. Instead, it was those Jews who informed the people that they have crucified the Messiah. The accounts of His crucifixion that reached both Christians and others originated from those Jews, who were agents of oppression. They were not numerous enough to make their agreement one that was not based on lies.” [2]

Imam Ibn Hazm, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The Christians themselves acknowledged that they did not endevour to get hold of his body during the day due to fear of the public; instead, they took him at night after the people had dispersed following the Passover. Furthermore, it is stated that he remained on the cross for only six hours during the day and was taken down shortly thereafter. The crucifixion allegedly occurred in a location distant from the city, in a garden owned by a potter, which is not a recognised site for crucifixions. After all of this, it would be that they established a context to say that his companions would have run off with his body (in secret) and that Maryam Magdalene, a woman among the common people, did not approach the site of the crucifixion but stood at a distance, observing everything as described in their Gospel. This undermines the notion that the crucifixion was reported (and witnessed) by all people (or numerous people) because it appears to be a concealed and colluded event.

At that time, according to the Gospel, the disciples were fearful for their own safety, fled and remained hidden. And that Peter entered the house of Caiaphas the priest during daylight, so he said to him, “Are you one of Jesus’s associates?” However, he denied this and fled the premises; then how about the claim that it was reported by everyone! This is the meaning of the verse [ولكن شبه لهم – but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)], meaning, those wicked individuals who orchestrated this falsehood conspired together and misled their followers into believing that they had crucified and killed him, despite knowing that this was a lie.

It was never the case that everyone reported the [alleged killing of Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], but even if it were true that they did, then how could it not be possible regarding the fact that every miracle does alter natural phenomena and changes the way senses normally perceive things? If it were indeed the case that everyone saw (or reported) it, then Allah’s statement regarding this event is that He likened another person to Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and blocked their perceptions in the manner they perceived it, (so they thought that it was him who was crucified whereas, it was someone else). This event would be comparable to the migration of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, at night, during which a hundred men from Quraysh, sought after him, yet Allah concealed their vision from him, preventing them from seeing him. However, as for what is not established based on Allah’s statement that He made something appear in a way that is not what is seen or perceived in reality, it would not be permissible to regard it as such, as it leads to an impossibility. Thus, the changing of nature and natural things from what they are in reality cannot be considered possible unless there is definitive proof from Allah, which must be accepted. [Footnote a] But the reality of something can be misperceived by one or two individuals, as well as a result of insanity or foolishness. However, this cannot happen to an entire group (i.e. the populace).

And regarding Allah’s statement: [وما قتلوه وما صلبوه ولكن شبه لهم – And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)]. This is regarding those who say that Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was crucified due to blindly following their predecessors among the Christians and Jews. These people were (deceived) based on doubtful (ambiguous) report, as they entered into something false that is made to resemble the truth. The evil elders at that time entered them into this falsehood that was made to resemble the truth. The claimants (those Jews who disbelieved in Isa) told them that they killed and crucified him, while they knew that it was not the case; instead, they secretly conspired to kill and crucify him, preventing public attendance, and subsequently claimed to have killed and buried him to mislead the general populace, who were led to believe the false narrative that was made to resemble the truth. Finally, yes indeed, the noble Messiah will return to establish perfect justice on earth. Read below:

Footnote a: The miracles of the Prophets and righteous people who adhered/ adhere to the divine revelation without deviation in creed or worship must not be mistaken for the deceptions of magicians, the people of innovation in religious matters and the devils. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The Khawariq [Phenomena attributed to something outside the norm] by way of which the devils misguide the children of Adam – such as when the devils take the image of a person who is absent or has passed away and what is similar to this – has misguided many of those who ascribe themselves to the Muslims or to the people of the Scripture. They establish this on two affairs: Firstly, that whoever from whom these khawaariq occurs is a Wali, and according to the term of the Christians he is a Qadees A’dheem – a great saint! Secondly, that the one from whom these khawaariq occurs is therefore infallible, everything he narrates is truth and everything he commands is justice”.

However, it can definitely be the case that neither did a phenomena outside the norm – whether unrelated or related to sound knowledge and piety – occur from such a person nor a phenomena outside the normal related to deeds of the devils; rather the person merely carried out the tricks of the liars and wicked sinners. The tricks of the liars and wicked sinners are numerous indeed, so one thinks that they are amazing events outside the norm, however neither is that the case nor is it something similar to the tricks of the monks. Some people have written books regarding the tricks of the monks, such as the trick reported about one of them changing water into oil- that when the oil is in the interior of the lighthouse, the water gradually reduces and thus the oil floats [or pops up] on the water, so those who are present think that the water has changed into oil. The likes of this affair are numerous from the tricks of those Christians, because all that those Christians possess – those who altered the religion of the Messiah [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] – of activities that are attributed to something out of the norm are either from the devils or they are tricks, and there’s nothing in them related to the miracles of the righteous people.

Likewise, the deviated people – those who seek to alter the religion of Muhammad – adopt a religion that is not legislated by Allah and His Messenger, then they make it a path of worship and give it precedence over the path that is legislated by Allah and His Messenger. For example, they give precedence to listening to sounds from the tambourines and the shrill flutes over listening to the book of Allah, so one of them goes into a state of ecstasy and a satanic trance through which he becomes muddled up with shaytan until he speaks in a language he does not know. Then when he returns to his senses – just as when a jinn speaks through the tongue of the one who is possessed and after informing the people of that which is in his heart and soul, which is from the shaytan, and the shaytan leaves him -, he cannot repeat what he said at first.

The heretics alter the religion of the Messengers – either the religion of the Messiah or seek to alter the religion of Muhammad, and amongst the likes of such people are the proponents of hearsay, misguidance, the disbelievers, the polytheists, apostates and other than them, such as the likes of Musaylimah the liar, Al-Aswad Al-Unzee, Al-Haarith Ad-Dimashqee, Baabaa Roomee and other than them amongst those who engaged in activities that are considered to be outside the norm [i.e. so called miracles] but [in reality] are related to the deeds of the devils.

As for the tricksters, they are numerous and they are not Awliyaa of Allah. Their so called amazing activities that are outside the norm- if not related to the satanic deeds of the soothsayers and the magicians – a just tricks. They deliberately lie and deceive unlike those connected to the devils, because amongst them is he who deceives, so one thinks that what he does is from the miracles of the righteous people, just as amongst them is one who knows that what he does is from the devils, but he does so in order to achieve his goals.

The intent behind this discussion is that many of the activities that are considered to be outside of the norm [i.e. so called miracles] are either satanic deeds or tricks, so one thinks that they are the true miracles of the righteous people, for indeed that which whose cause is based on Shirk and wicked deeds can only be from the devils, such as when a person associates partners with Allah by invoking the stars, or invokes a person- whether such a person is dead or absent, or he makes an oath through unknown words and statements whose meanings are not known, or he knows that they are names of devils, or seeks aid through lewd conduct and oppression, then such deeds – considered to be outside of the norm that emanates from this – are from the devils.

The righteous people have miracles such as the miracles of the pious people of this Ummah [may Allah have mercy upon them], the miracles of the disciples of the Messiah [may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Messiah, and may Allah have mercy upon the disciples] and other than them amongst those who were upon the correct and unaltered religion of the Messiah. However, the occurrence of miracles at the hands of the righteous people does not necessitate that they are infallible like the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allah be upon them]; rather it maybe that a righteous man- a Wali – has miracles, but despite this he mixes up by error and makes a mistake in that which he thinks or what he is made to hear or see, or what he sees, or what he understands from the revealed Scripture. And because of this, the statements of those other than the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allah be upon them] can either be accepted or rejected [i.e. based on evidence], but as for the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allah be upon them], it is obligated on a person to affirm truthfully everything they have related regarding the affairs of the unseen and obey them in everything they command. And due to this, Allaah [The Exalted] obligated on a person to believe in everything the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] brought and did not obligate on a person to believe in everything that comes from others.

Allah [The Exalted] said:

قُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَـٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُ ۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 136]

Allah [The Exalted] said:
لَّيۡسَ ٱلۡبِرَّ أَن تُوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ قِبَلَ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱلۡبِرَّ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕڪَةِ وَٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ

It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allah, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets. [Al-Baqarah. 177]

And because of this the Muslims are all in agreement that the one who disbelieved in a single Prophet whose Prophethood is well known, then he is a disbeliever- an apostate. There is no distinction between one Prophet from the other- by believing in some and disbelieving in others. Allah said:

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يُفَرِّقُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦ وَيَقُولُونَ نُؤۡمِنُ بِبَعۡضٍ۬ وَنَڪۡفُرُ بِبَعۡضٍ۬ وَيُرِيدُونَ أَن يَتَّخِذُواْ بَيۡنَ ذَٲلِكَ سَبِيلاً
أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ حَقًّ۬ا‌ۚ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابً۬ا مُّهِينً۬ا

Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers (by believing in Allah and disbelieving in His Messengers) saying, “We believe in some but reject others,” and wish to adopt a way in between. They are in truth disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayaat 150-151] [4]

Hasty or Haphazard? Examining Some Claims of Hasan Hasan in The Atlantic on Salafiyyah and ISIS

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ

“They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire”.

The person who lacks sound Iman and creed revealed by Allah, the Creator of the universe, will find themselves in one of two situations: either their knowledge becomes corrupted or their intentions become corrupted. The first situation arises when they rely on assumptions and the second situation arises when they are driven by their desires, or one may combine both. [1]

Hasan Hasan, a researcher, made some comments that revealed his limited understanding when discussing Jihadism, extremism, and militancy. In an article he wrote against Al-Qaida, Jabhat An-Nusrah, and similar groups, he linked these concepts with the terms Sunni and Salafi. He said, “Ahrar al-Sham, a Salafi-jihadist group close to Jabhat al-Nusra”. He also stated, “Sunni jihadism has been characterized by transnational terrorism, suicide bombing, and ex-communication”. “The Isis ideology is generally viewed as identical to al-Qaida’s or the Saudi version of Salafism – adherence to fundamental Islamic tenets – and so there does not seem to be a serious effort to study it more closely”. Response: To begin with, it is undeniable that Hasan Hasan accurately characterised the trajectory of ISIS and Al-Qaida as identical ideologies because their course of action represents an innovated creed. However, his lack of full understanding in this particular field became evident when he linked them with Salafiyyah. The noble Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “You must adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs [Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali] after me. Adhere to it and cling to it firmly, and beware of newly invented matters in the religion, for every newly invented matter in the religion is an innovation in religion and every innovation is a path leading to misguidance”. Imam Al-Barbahaaree, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: It is not permitted for a man to say, “So and so is a person of the sunnah” until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah, so it is not said of him, “A person of the Sunnah” until he combines all the Sunnah”. Al-Allamah Saalih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, said: The characteristics of the Sunnah are creed, knowledge, and adherence to the (path of the) As-Salaf As-Salih (the pious predecessors). But if there is nothing in him except a single trait of the (sunnah), he is not regarded to be from Ahlus Sunnah based on a single characteristic or one thing, then what about the one who has nothing from that? [3]

Hasan Hasan stated about the Imams of the mosques that were under ISIS’s control: “These Imams are generally asked to preach about three key concepts that are shared by all Salafi and jihadist groups, but ISIS has its own take on their functionalities, namely tawhid (strict monotheism), bida’a (deviation in religious matters) and wala wal baraa (loyalty to Islam and disloyalty to anything un-Islamic)”. Secondly, what is the true meaning behind Hasan Hasan’s concept of “Strict monotheism”? Narrations Regarding The Khawaarij

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] informed us about the khawarij in many ahaadith. He said, “A people will come from the east who recite the Qur’an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion just as an arrow pierces its target and they will not return to it just as the arrow does not return to the bow”. [4]

He said, “During the last days [i.e. end of time], there will be young people with foolish dreams. They will say the best of statements amongst creation, but they will pass through Islam just as an arrow passes through its game. Their Iman will not go beyond their throats”. [5]

He said, “There will be discord and division in my Ummah and a people will come with beautiful statements but evil deeds. They recite the Qur’an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will exit the religion just as an arrow leaves its target and they will not return until the arrow returns to its notch. They are the worst of the creation”. [6]

He said, “Some people from my Ummah will emerge from the east, who recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats. Every time a group of them appears it will be cut off. The Messenger repeated this and on the tenth time he said, “Every time a group of them emerges, it will be cut off, until Dajjaaj appears from their remnants”. [7]

Ubaydullah Ibn Abee Rafi [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “The Khawarij came out against Ali ibn Abee Talib [may Allah be pleased with him] and said, ‘There is no judgement, except the judgement of Allah’, so Ali said them, ‘A statement of truth by way of which falsehood is intended'”. [8]

Imam Wahb Ibn Munabbih [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “I was acquainted with the early period of Islam. By Allah, the Khaawarij have never had a group except that Allah caused it to split because of their evil state of affairs. Never did one of them publicize his opinion except that Allah caused his neck to be struck. Never did the Muslim Ummah unite behind a man from the Khawarij. If Allah allowed the opinion of the Khawarij to be accepted and established, then the earth would have been corrupted, the carriageways would have been cut off, Hajj to the sacred house of Allah would have ceased and the affair of Islam would have reverted to ignorance until the people seek shelter in the mountains as they did in the time of ignorance. If ten or twenty men among them were to rise, there would not be a man among them except that he claims the khilafah for himself- every man among them would have ten thousand other men with him and all of them fighting each other, accusing one another of disbelief until the believer fears for himself, his religion, his life, his family, his wealth, and would not know where to travel or who to be with”. Imam At-Tabari [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “The Khawarij came to a village and captured a man and his daughter. She said to them, ‘O people of Islam! Verily, my father is an old man so do not kill him, and I am only a girl. By Allah, I have never committed immorality and I have never harmed anyone’. They brought her out to murder her whilst she kept on saying, ‘What sin have I committed; what sin have I committed?’ She fainted thereafter and they killed her with their swords”. [10]

Indeed, we have all seen the terrible acts committed by the Khawaarij in our time. The Khawaarij show no mercy, not even towards each other, as Imam Wahb Ibn Munabbih stated, “If ten or twenty men among them were to rise, there would not be a man among them except that he claims the Caliphate for himself; every man among them would have ten thousand other men with him and all of them fighting each other, accusing one another of disbelief”. Indeed, this is exactly what was happening in Syria. Furthermore, it is important to remind the Islamophobes, ideologues, rabble-rousers, and demagogues about the heinous acts carried out by certain leaders within the globalist community. The kharijites distort the teachings of the pure religion and engage in slaughter and transgression, while some globalists initiate hostilities, transgress boundaries, and commit acts of violence in the name of upholding the so-called ideals of the so-called civilised world. May Allah safeguard us from the malevolence of the kharijites and transgressors among the secularists. Amin.

What happens when callers to truth become weak – By Al Allamah Muhammad Aman Al-Jami

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allamah Muhammad Aman Al-Jami, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

وإذا ضعف الدعاة دعاة الحق من القيام بالرد على المبتدعة والدفاع عن العقيدة، وجاملوا أو جبنوا ظهرت البدع، وفشت وانتشرت، كما هو الواقع في دراستنا في الليالي السابقة في الفتوى الحموية، أدركنا موقف الأئمة من هؤلاء الفرق.
لكل إمام من الأئمة الذين ذكر شيخ الإسلام في النقول التي مرت بنا من التابعين وتابعي التابعين لهم موقف حاسم، ورد قوي، ومناقشة مفحمة.
ولما ضعف الرد عليهم، وربما جُهل المنهج نفسه، منهج السلف، واختلط الأمر على كثير من الناس، كثرت الجماعات ولا تزال تكثر. والله المستعان.

If the callers to the truth become weak in refuting the innovators and defending the creed, and they [ جاملوا – compromising truth or saying something just to please others, avoiding frankness to appease someone etc] or become cowardly, Bidah will appear, spread, and become widespread. As is the case – over the past nights – in our study of al-Fatwa al-Ḥamawiyyah, we came to understand the stance (or position) of the Imams toward these sects. Every one of the Imams mentioned by Shaikh al-Islam – in the transmissions we came across from the Tābiʿīn and those who followed the Tābiʿīn – had an unfaltering stance, strong refutation, and compelling discussion (argument).

(But) when refutation against them (i.e. the sects and those who innovate in the religion) weakened, and perhaps due to ignorance about the methodology- the Methodology of the Salaf- and matters became confusing for many people, the groups became numerous and have not ceased being numerous. And Allah’s aid is sought! [Paraphrased]

Excavation of the Relics of Misguided Forefathers

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

The attention given to artefacts (or relics) – in this era – in the manner pursued by the Archaeologists was not known during the era of the Prophet’s companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and the pious predecessors, may Allah have mercy upon them, but rather the Muslims blindly followed the Europeans and Americans whose greatest goal in studying artefacts (or relics) in the land of the Muslims is to revive (the traits of) pre-Islamic nationalism, such as Pharaonism, (Pan) Babylonianism, Phoenicianism etc. And they succeeded to a great extent in actualising many of these goals, thus arose – in the Muslim lands – the (traits) of pre-Islamic national pride and taking pride in these nationalisms.

Indeed, I am amazed by the example of yours [i.e. the person the Shaikh was refuting] regarding the towns of (Prophet) Salih and Ukhdud, which are places (that earned) Allah’s anger!! Imam Al-Bukhari, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Jufee narrated to us that Abdur Razzaaq narrated to them from Az-Zuhree who narrated from Salim, who narrated from Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, who said: When the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, passed by Al-Hijr, he said:

“Do not enter the dwelling places of those people who were unjust to themselves unless you enter in a weeping state lest the same calamity as of theirs should befall you”. Then he covered his head and made his speed fast till he crossed the valley.

Yahyah Bin Bukayr narrated to us who said that Malik narrated to us from Abdullah Bin Deenaar who reported from Ibn Umar, who said: Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to his companions who were at Al-Hijr:

“Do not enter upon these people who are being punished, except in a weeping state, lest the same calamity as of theirs should befall you”. [Al-Bukhari. 4419 and 4420]

The two Prophetic reports show the danger of entering the places of those who incurred Allah’s anger and He destroyed them due to their disbelief, denial of the prophets and their message. The Prophet did not permit entry into them except for one who fears Allah and fears His punishment, so he enters when in need while weeping. It is feared for the one who enters the dwellings of those who were punished that he would be afflicted with the punishment that afflicted them. It is legislated for the one who approaches those dwellings to go past quickly while covering his face to follow the example of Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Do the Muslim possess understanding – and amongst them the Archeologists and those who encourage them – of what is in this Prophetic guidance that came from one who does not speak out of his own desires [i.e. the Prophet -peace and blessings of Allah be upon him]?

Also, Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, legislated for the one who goes past the valleys of Muhassar to hurry because Allah destroyed the people of the Elephant over there [i.e. the story of the people of the Elephant – Surah Al-Feel].

Therefore, those who excavate the artefacts (relics) of the people of Aad, Thamud, the Ashaab Al-Ukhdud, the Pharoanic and Babylonian artefacts (or relics), do they act based on the guidance of Allah’s Messenger, or do they blindly follow the enemies of Allah who set up partnership of exploration for them from the artefacts (or relics) of the destroyed nations in order to entice (them) towards (traits) of pre-Islamic ignorance. Indeed, I and other than myself have read the numerous boasting of Muslims or those who ascribe to Islam, such as the statement of some of them:

“O Misree (i.e. Egyptian)! Be proud of the builders of your glory when people were sleeping”. He boasts about the Pharoanic artefacts (relics) such as the pyramids and other than them. (1)

 

Why Ponder Upon The Story of The Nations of Old?

Allah, The Most High, said:

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Many similar mishaps [troubles, problems] of life were faced by nations that have passed away before you, so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who disbelieved]. [Aal Imran. 137]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Indeed, there were nations like yourselves before you, so look to their evil end. You have to know that the reason behind their evil end was due to their disbelief in the revelations of Allah and disbelief in Allah’s Messengers. They were the forefathers and you are the descendants. The main affair that connects you to each other is your disbelief and the ruling on that disbelief is destruction. (2)

Imam Muhammad Bin Salih Al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: If it is said, “What is the benefit in narrating to us the stories of the destroyed nations despite the fact that this Ummah will not be completely destroyed in a manner similar to the destruction of the previous nations before it?'”.

The Answer: Indeed, this has two benefits: The first benefit is a clarification of Allah’s blessings upon us that the occurrence of a complete destruction is removed from us, and that were it not for Allah’s Benevolence we would have been deserving of it. Second, the likeness of the punishment they received may occur in the hereafter for the one who did what they did, if punishment was not received in the worldly life. And this may be understood from the statement of Allah:

“Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the population of towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful and severe. Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter.”

So what is apparent from this verse is that what is similar to the punishment they received will happen in the Hereafter, and Allah knows best. (3)

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

“The most hated people to Allah are three: a person who deviates from right conduct sanctuaries of Makkah and Medeenah; a person who seeks that the traditions of the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance should remain in Islam and a person who seeks to shed somebody’s blood without any right”.

Al-Allamah Zayd Bin Hadi Al-Mad’khali, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

These three actions are major sins. The first major sin is to stray from good behaviour within the sacred sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah. This deviation means to abandon the path of truth and embrace falsehood, and promoting falsehood to suppress the truth. Allah, The Mighty and Majestic, has censured those who engage in such misconduct within the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah, saying:

وَمَن يُرِدۡ فِيهِ بِإِلۡحَادِۭ بِظُلۡمٍ۬ نُّذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ۬

And whoever intends evil actions therein or to do wrong, We shall make him taste a painful torment]. [Al-Hajj. 25]

Allah has promised them a severe punishment for their evil intentions therein, so what about committing such deeds?! It would indeed be a more severe sin, a more terrifying state, and a harsher punishment. This highlights the sanctity of Makkah and Madeenah, chosen by Allah as sacred lands where virtuous acts of worship, like Hajj, are performed – a pillar of Islam. The virtues of these places are countless, with increased rewards for good deeds done there, and surpassing all other lands on earth in virtue.

The second major sin is committed by the individual who wants the practices of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance to remain within Islam, as if he prioritises the evil customs that were followed during that era over Islamic practices, Iman and Ihsaan, their virtue and the virtue of the Prophet’s Sunnah. This act constitutes a major sin, as it involves favouring Bidah over the authentic Sunnah that leads to the right path.

The third major sin is shedding the blood of a Muslim without any right, especially when it is done out of oppression and animosity. Shedding the blood of a Muslim is a great crime as the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

“The extinction of the entire world is less significant than killing a Muslim (without right)”.

He stated regarding the rights of the Kabah:

“Great you are and great is your sanctity, but the sanctity of a believer is greater than yours in the Sight of Allah”.

Therefore, it is forbidden to transgress against Muslims, both male and female, in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah, as well as in any other place, due to the severe consequences and punishment that follow. [1]

Amr Ibn Al-Hamiq, may Allah be pleased with him] reported that Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

“Whenever a man promises safety for another man’s life and then kills him, I disavow myself from him even if the victim was an unbeliever”. [2]

The Bitter Truth Which Those Who Openly Belittle Noble Jesus Cannot Swallow—Ask Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi to Identify the Culprits

In The Name of Allāh, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ قَدْ جَآءَكُمْ رَسُولُنَا يُبَيِّنُ لَكُمْ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا كُنتُمْ تُخْفُونَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَيَعْفُوا۟ عَن كَثِيرٍ قَدْ جَآءَكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ نُورٌ وَكِتَٰبٌ مُّبِينٌ

 يَهْدِي بِهِ اللّهُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَهُ سُبُلَ السَّلاَمِ وَيُخْرِجُهُم مِّنِ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَيَهْدِيهِمْ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

O people of the Scripture! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light (Prophet Muhammad) and a plain Book (this Quran). Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way (Islamic Monotheism).

This article serves as a brief rebuke against those specific Jews who openly belittle noble Prophet Jesus, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, on social media. While Christians hold Jesus in high regard, they later elevated his status to the point of worshipping him alongside Allah. Therefore, this article will also touch upon this perspective, although its primary aim is to confront the harsh reality faced by those Jews who openly express animosity towards the noble Prophet Jesus and speak ill of him.

 

Allah Gave Jesus and His True Followers Victory Over Their Enemies

Allāh, The Most High, said:

إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَـٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ

When Allāh said (regarding His plan): “O Jesus, I will take you (in your sleep) and raise you (alive) to Myself and clear you of (the forged statements) of those who disbelieve (that you are Allāh Himself, or His Son, or an imposter), and make those who follow you (as My servant and messenger, and who worship Me alone) superior to those who disbelieve (and plot against you) till the Day of Resurrection.” Then to Me will be your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ (regarding the Torah and Gospel and the status of Jesus, son of Mary). [Aal Imran 55]

This is the truth just as Allāh, The Most High, has stated. Allah gave superiority – till the day of Resurrection – to those who followed the Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, over those who disbelieved in him. Allah gave superiority to those who followed the Messiah –  based on his unaltered religion – over the Jews, and also the Christians are given superiority – till the day of Resurrection – over those Jews who disbelieved in the Messiah. As for the Muslims, they believe in the Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, rather when the Christians substituted the religion of the Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, Allah sent Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with the same religion of Islamic monotheism which the Messiah and all other Prophets, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them, were sent with, and Allah gave superiority to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his Ummah over the Christians till the day of Resurrection, as Abu Hurairah, may Allāh be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, stated that the religion of all the Prophets is one [i.e. Tawheed] and he is the nearest of all the people to the son of Maryam, and there has been no Prophet between him and Isa”. [Al-Bukhari 3442 and 3443]

Allāh, The Most High, said:

شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِۦ نُوحً۬ا وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ وَمَا وَصَّيۡنَا بِهِۦۤ إِبۡرَٲهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰٓ‌ۖ أَنۡ أَقِيمُواْ ٱلدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ كَبُرَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ مَا تَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ‌ۚ ٱللَّهُ يَجۡتَبِىٓ إِلَيۡهِ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَہۡدِىٓ إِلَيۡهِ مَن يُنِيبُ

He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islamic monotheism) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Mosesý) and ‘Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun , is that to which you (O Muhammad) call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience. [42: 13]

Allah said:

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلرُّسُلُ كُلُواْ مِنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَٱعۡمَلُواْ صَـٰلِحًا‌ۖ إِنِّى بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ۬

وَإِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ وَأَنَا۟ رَبُّڪُمۡ فَٱتَّقُونِ

فَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَہُمۡ زُبُرً۬ا‌ۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡہِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do. And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. [23:52-53]

Therefore, whoever’s belief in Allah and His Messengers is more complete, he is more worthy of Allah’s aid, because Allah said:

إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فِى ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَيَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلۡأَشۡهَـٰدُ

Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) in this world’s life and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth, (i.e. Day of Resurrection). [40:51]

Allah said:

وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

إِنَّہُمۡ لَهُمُ ٱلۡمَنصُورُونَ

وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ

And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, that they verily would be made triumphant. And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. [37: 171-173]

The Jews (i.e. majority of them) disbelieved in the Messiah and Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them, as Allah stated about them:

بِئۡسَمَا ٱشۡتَرَوۡاْ بِهِۦۤ أَنفُسَهُمۡ أَن يَڪۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بَغۡيًا أَن يُنَزِّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ‌ۖ فَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍ عَلَىٰ غَضَبٍ۬‌ۚ وَلِلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابٌ۬ مُّهِينٌ۬

How bad is that for which they have sold their ownselves, that they should disbelieve in that which Allah has revealed (the Qur’an), grudging that Allah should reveal of His Grace unto whom He will of His slaves. So they have drawn on themselves wrath upon wrath. And for the disbelievers, there is disgracing torment. [2:90]

The first cause of this wrath is due to their disbelief in the Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and the second is due to their disbelief in Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The Christians did not disbelieve in the Messiah, thus, they were triumphant over those Jews who disbelieved in him. As for the Muslims, they are triumphant over the Jews and the Christians because they believe in all the books and Messengers of Allah- neither disbelieve in a single book of Allah nor single Messenger of His, rather they follow that which Allah told them:

قُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَـٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُ ۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [2:136

Allāh said:

ءَامَنَ ٱلرَّسُولُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡهِ مِن رَّبِّهِۦ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ‌ۚ كُلٌّ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَتِهِۦ وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَرُسُلِهِۦ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّن رُّسُلِهِۦ‌ۚ وَقَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَا‌ۖ غُفۡرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ

The Messenger (Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, “We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers” – and they say, “We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).” [2:285]

Therefore, the Christians do not have any proof in this verse [regarding the victory given to Eesaa which they seek to use as proof for themselves against Muslims]; rather it is a proof against them, for indeed it is the fact that the Muslims are the followers of all the Messengers and indeed Allah promised to give victory to Messengers and their followers. The Prophet,  peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “There will not cease to be a group of my Ummah uppermost upon the truth. They will not be harmed by those who forsake them nor by those oppose them until Allah’s affair comes to pass and they are uppermost”. [Sahih Muslim]. The Prophet also said, “I asked my Lord that my Ummah would not be dominated by an enemy who is not from them and would take their lives and destroy them completely, so He gave me what I asked”. [Saheeh Muslim] [Al-Jawab As-Sahih Liman Baddala Deen Al-Masih 1/223-225]

 

The Noble Lineage of Prophet Jesus – peace and blessings of Allah be upon him

First, it is unequivocal that the noble Prophet Isa (Jesus), peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, hailed from Bani Israel. Ibn Al-Athir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Imran Ibn Mathan, who is the grandfather of Jesus, peace be upon him, and the father of Mary, was a descendant of Sulayman, son of Dawud, peace be upon them. The family of Mathan held prominent positions as leaders and scholars among the Children of Israel. [1]

Imam Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

“There is no disagreement that she [meaning Maryam, peace be upon her] is from the lineage of Dawud, peace be upon him, and her father, Imran, was the one who led the prayers of the Children of Israel during his time.” [2]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

“There is no doubt that the people of Musa, peace be upon him, were the Children of Israel, and the Torah was revealed in their language. Likewise, the Children of Israel are the people of Christ, peace be upon him, and he spoke in their tongue. Neither of the two Messengers addressed anyone in any language other than Hebrew; neither spoke in Latin, Syriac, Greek, nor Coptic.” [3]

It is well known among the Christians that Christ spoke exclusively in Hebrew, similar to other prophets of the Israelites. Furthermore, it is noted that He was circumcised on the eighth day, in accordance with the customs of the Israelites, and that He prayed facing their designated direction, rather than towards the east, nor did he instruct others to pray in that direction. His Miraculous Birth and Message

The narrative of Isa (Jesus), peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is well known for its precise details found in the final and infallible divine revelation, namely The Qur’an and the Sunnah. Allah, The Most High, stated:

وَٱذۡكُرۡ فِى ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مَرۡيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتۡ مِنۡ أَهۡلِهَا مَكَانً۬ا شَرۡقِيًّ۬ا (١٦) فَٱتَّخَذَتۡ مِن دُونِهِمۡ حِجَابً۬ا فَأَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرً۬ا سَوِيًّ۬ا (١٧) قَالَتۡ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّ۬ا (١٨) قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۟ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَـٰمً۬ا زَڪِيًّ۬ا (١٩) قَالَتۡ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَـٰمٌ۬ وَلَمۡ يَمۡسَسۡنِى بَشَرٌ۬ وَلَمۡ أَكُ بَغِيًّ۬ا (٢٠) قَالَ كَذَٲلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌ۬‌ۖ وَلِنَجۡعَلَهُ ۥۤ ءَايَةً۬ لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحۡمَةً۬ مِّنَّا‌ۚ وَكَانَ أَمۡرً۬ا مَّقۡضِيًّ۬ا (٢١) ۞ فَحَمَلَتۡهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتۡ بِهِۦ مَكَانً۬ا قَصِيًّ۬ا (٢٢) فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلۡمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذۡعِ ٱلنَّخۡلَةِ قَالَتۡ يَـٰلَيۡتَنِى مِتُّ قَبۡلَ هَـٰذَا وَڪُنتُ نَسۡيً۬ا مَّنسِيًّ۬ا (٢٣) فَنَادَٮٰهَا مِن تَحۡتِہَآ أَلَّا تَحۡزَنِى قَدۡ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحۡتَكِ سَرِيًّ۬ا (٢٤) وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيۡكِ بِجِذۡعِ ٱلنَّخۡلَةِ تُسَـٰقِطۡ عَلَيۡكِ رُطَبً۬ا جَنِيًّ۬ا (٢٥) فَكُلِى وَٱشۡرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيۡنً۬ا‌ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡبَشَرِ أَحَدً۬ا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرۡتُ لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ صَوۡمً۬ا فَلَنۡ أُڪَلِّمَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ إِنسِيًّ۬ا (٢٦) فَأَتَتۡ بِهِۦ قَوۡمَهَا تَحۡمِلُهُ ۥ‌ۖ قَالُواْ يَـٰمَرۡيَمُ لَقَدۡ جِئۡتِ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا فَرِيًّ۬ا (٢٧) يَـٰٓأُخۡتَ هَـٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمۡرَأَ سَوۡءٍ۬ وَمَا كَانَتۡ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّ۬ا (٢٨) فَأَشَارَتۡ إِلَيۡهِ‌ۖ قَالُواْ كَيۡفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلۡمَهۡدِ صَبِيًّ۬ا (٢٩) قَالَ إِنِّى عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَٮٰنِىَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّ۬ا (٣٠) وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيۡنَ مَا ڪُنتُ وَأَوۡصَـٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّڪَوٰةِ مَا دُمۡتُ حَيًّ۬ا (٣١) وَبَرَّۢا بِوَٲلِدَتِى وَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡنِى جَبَّارً۬ا شَقِيًّ۬ا (٣٢) وَٱلسَّلَـٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوۡمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوۡمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوۡمَ أُبۡعَثُ حَيًّ۬ا (٣٣) ذَٲلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ‌ۚ قَوۡلَ ٱلۡحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمۡتَرُونَ (٣٤) مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍ۬‌ۖ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُ ۥۤ‌ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمۡرً۬ا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ ۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ (٣٥) وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُوهُ‌ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطٌ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ۬ (٣٦) فَٱخۡتَلَفَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِہِمۡ‌ۖ فَوَيۡلٌ۬ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن مَّشۡہَدِ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٍ (٣٧) أَسۡمِعۡ بِہِمۡ وَأَبۡصِرۡ يَوۡمَ يَأۡتُونَنَا‌ۖ لَـٰكِنِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ۬ مُّبِينٍ۬ (٣٨) وَأَنذِرۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡحَسۡرَةِ إِذۡ قُضِىَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ وَهُمۡ فِى غَفۡلَةٍ۬ وَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ (٣٩) إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَرِثُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَنۡ عَلَيۡہَا وَإِلَيۡنَا يُرۡجَعُونَ (٤٠)

And mention in the Book (the Qur’an, O Muhammad , the story of) Maryam (Mary), when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh [angel Jibrael (Gabriel)], and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects. She said: “Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah.” (The angel) said: “I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son.” She said: “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?” He said: “So (it will be), your Lord said: ‘That is easy for Me (Allah): And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).’ So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place (i.e. Bethlehem valley about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem). And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date-palm. She said: “Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of sight!” Then [the babe ‘Iesa (Jesus) or Jibrael (Gabriel)] cried unto her from below her, saying: “Grieve not! Your Lord has provided a water stream under you; and shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you. So eat and drink and be glad, and if you see any human being, say: ‘Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) so I shall not speak to any human being this day.’”

Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: “O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariya (an unheard mighty thing). “O sister (i.e. the like) of Harun (Aaron) [not the brother of Musa (Moses), but he was another pious man at the time of Maryam (Mary)]! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor was your mother an unchaste woman.” Then she pointed to him. They said: “How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?” He [‘Iesa (Jesus)] said: “Verily! I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet; and He has made me blessed wherever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat, as long as I live. And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest. And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!”

Such is ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). (it is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute). It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allah, by saying that ‘Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allah]. Glorified (and Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it, “Be!” and it is. [‘Iesa (Jesus) said]: “And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allah’s Religion of Islamic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His Prophets).” Then the sects differed [i.e. the Christians about ‘Iesa (Jesus)], so woe unto the disbelievers [those who gave false witness by saying that ‘Iesa (Jesus) is the son of Allah] from the meeting of a great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection, when they will be thrown in the blazing Fire). How clearly will they (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) see and hear, the Day when they will appear before Us! But the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers) today are in plain error. And warn them (O Muhammad ) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not. Verily! We will inherit the earth and whatsoever is thereon. And to Us they all shall be returned. [Maryam 16-40]

Allah said:

وَإِذۡ قَالَتِ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕڪَةُ يَـٰمَرۡيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصۡطَفَٮٰكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَٱصۡطَفَٮٰكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَآءِ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ (٤٢) يَـٰمَرۡيَمُ ٱقۡنُتِى لِرَبِّكِ وَٱسۡجُدِى وَٱرۡكَعِى مَعَ ٱلرَّٲكِعِينَ (٤٣) ذَٲلِكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيۡكَ‌ۚ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيۡهِمۡ إِذۡ يُلۡقُونَ أَقۡلَـٰمَهُمۡ أَيُّهُمۡ يَكۡفُلُ مَرۡيَمَ وَمَا ڪُنتَ لَدَيۡهِمۡ إِذۡ يَخۡتَصِمُونَ (٤٤) إِذۡ قَالَتِ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ يَـٰمَرۡيَمُ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ۬ مِّنۡهُ ٱسۡمُهُ ٱلۡمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ وَجِيهً۬ا فِى ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأَخِرَةِ وَمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ (٤٥) وَيُڪَلِّمُ ٱلنَّاسَ فِى ٱلۡمَهۡدِ وَڪَهۡلاً۬ وَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ (٤٦) قَالَتۡ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى وَلَدٌ۬ وَلَمۡ يَمۡسَسۡنِى بَشَرٌ۬‌ۖ قَالَ ڪَذَٲلِكِ ٱللَّهُ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ‌ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمۡرً۬ا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ ۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ (٤٧) وَيُعَلِّمُهُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡحِڪۡمَةَ وَٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ (٤٨) وَرَسُولاً إِلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ أَنِّى قَدۡ جِئۡتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ۬ مِّن رَّبِّڪُمۡ‌ۖ أَنِّىٓ أَخۡلُقُ لَڪُم مِّنَ ٱلطِّينِ كَهَيۡـٴَـةِِ ٱلطَّيۡرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيۡرَۢا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ وَأُبۡرِئُ ٱلۡأَڪۡمَهَ وَٱلۡأَبۡرَصَ وَأُحۡىِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأۡكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِى بُيُوتِڪُمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً۬ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ (٤٩) وَمُصَدِّقً۬ا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَڪُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيۡڪُمۡ‌ۚ وَجِئۡتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ۬ مِّن رَّبِّڪُمۡ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ (٥٠) إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّڪُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُوهُ‌ۗ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطٌ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٌ۬ (٥١) ۞ فَلَمَّآ أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنۡہُمُ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ قَالَ مَنۡ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ قَالَ ٱلۡحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحۡنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشۡهَدۡ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ (٥٢) رَبَّنَآ ءَامَنَّا بِمَآ أَنزَلۡتَ وَٱتَّبَعۡنَا ٱلرَّسُولَ فَٱڪۡتُبۡنَا مَعَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ (٥٣) وَمَڪَرُواْ وَمَڪَرَ ٱللَّهُ‌ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡمَـٰكِرِينَ (٥٤) إِذۡ قَالَ ٱللَّهُ يَـٰعِيسَىٰٓ إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ‌ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَىَّ مَرۡجِعُڪُمۡ فَأَحۡڪُمُ بَيۡنَكُمۡ فِيمَا كُنتُمۡ فِيهِ تَخۡتَلِفُونَ (٥٥) فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَأُعَذِّبُهُمۡ عَذَابً۬ا شَدِيدً۬ا فِى ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأَخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ (٥٦) وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمۡ أُجُورَهُمۡ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ (٥٧) ذَٲلِكَ نَتۡلُوهُ عَلَيۡكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ وَٱلذِّكۡرِ ٱلۡحَكِيمِ (٥٨) إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ‌ۖ خَلَقَهُ ۥ مِن تُرَابٍ۬ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ ۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ (٥٩) ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡمُمۡتَرِينَ (٦٠)

And (remember) when the angels said: “O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah has chosen you, purified you (from polytheism and disbelief), and chosen you above the women of the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of her lifetime). O Mary! Submit yourself with obedience to your Lord (Allah, by worshipping none but Him Alone) and prostrate yourself, and Irka’i (bow down etc.) along with Ar-Raki’un (those who bow down etc.).” This is a part of the news of the Ghaib (unseen, i.e. the news of the past nations of which you have no knowledge) which We inspire you with (O Muhammad ). You were not with them, when they cast lots with their pens as to which of them should be charged with the care of Maryam (Mary); nor were you with them when they disputed.

(Remember) when the angels said: “O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word [“Be!” – and he was! i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from Him, his name will be the Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah. He will speak to the people in the cradle and in manhood, and he will be one of the righteous.” She said: “O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me.” He said: “So (it will be) for Allah creates what He wills. When He has decreed something, He says to it only: “Be!” and it is. And He (Allah) will teach him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] the Book and Al-Hikmah (i.e. the Sunnah, the faultless speech of the Prophets, wisdom, etc.), (and) the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel). And will make him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] a Messenger to the Children of Israel (saying): “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I design for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s Leave; and I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I bring the dead to life by Allah’s Leave. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses. Surely, therein is a sign for you, if you believe. And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Taurat (Torah), and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me. Truly! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Alone). This is the Straight Path.

Then when ‘Iesa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: “Who will be my helpers in Allah’s Cause?” Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: “We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah).” Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger [‘Iesa (Jesus)]; so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah – none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). And they (disbelievers) plotted [to kill ‘Iesa (Jesus)], and Allah planned too. And Allah is the Best of the planners.

When Allāh said (regarding His plan): “O Jesus, I will take you (in your sleep) and raise you (alive) to Myself and clear you of (the forged statements) of those who disbelieve (that you are Allāh Himself, or His Son, or an imposter), and make those who follow you (as My servant and messenger, and who worship Me alone) superior to those who disbelieve (and plot against you) till the Day of Resurrection.” Then to Me will be your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ (regarding the Torah and Gospel and the status of Jesus, son of Mary).

As to those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe torment in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers. And as for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) and do righteous good deeds, Allah will pay them their reward in full. And Allah does not like the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers). This is what We recite to you (O Muhammad ) of the Verses and the Wise Reminder (i.e. the Qur’an). Verily, the likeness of ‘Iesa (Jesus) before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: “Be!” – and he was. (This is) the truth from your Lord, so be not of those who doubt. [Aal Imran 42-60]

Abu Huraira said: “I heard Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, saying, ‘There is none born among the off-spring of Adam, but Satan touches it. A child therefore cries loudly at the time of birth because of the touch of Satan, except Mary and her child.” Then Abu Huraira recited: “And I seek refuge with You for her and for her offspring from the outcast Satan” (3.36)

 

Jesus (Isa) Called Them To Guidance

Allāh said:

وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِى ٱسْمُهُۥٓ أَحْمَدُ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ قَالُوا۟ هَٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

And (remember) when Jesus, son of Mary, said: ” Children of Israel, I am the Messenger of Allāh to you, confirming what came before me of the Torah and giving good tidings of a Messenger to come after me whose name is Aḥmad”. But when he (the prophesied messenger, Muḥammad) came to them (the Jews) with clear proofs, they said: “This is plain magic”. [As-Saff. 6]

Allah said:

وَقَفَّيْنَا عَلَى آَثَارِهِمْ بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَآَتَيْنَاهُ الْإِنْجِيلَ فِيهِ هُدًى وَنُورٌ وَمُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةً لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

And in their footsteps, We sent ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), confirming the Taurat (Torah) that had come before him, and We gave him the Injeel (Gospel), in which was guidance and light and confirmation of the Taurat (Torah) that had come before it, a guidance and an admonition for the pious. [Al-Ma’idah 46]

“And in their footsteps”, meaning, “We succeeded the prophets of the Children of Israel with Isa (Jesus), son of Mary, who confirmed the Torah that preceded him. Meaning, he believed in it and judged according to its teachings. “And We gave him Injeel (Gospel) in which was guidance and light”, guiding to the truth and a light illuminating the path to removing doubts and solving problems. “And confirmation of the Taurat (Torah) that had come before it”, meaning, adhering to it and not doing other than what is in it, except in a few matters about which they differed, as Allah stated that the Messiah said to the Children of Israel: “And to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you”. This is why the most well-known statement of the scholars (of Islam) is that the Gospel abrogated certain laws of the Torah. [5]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

When Allāh sent Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, they disbelieved in him, thus their disbelief and misguidance occurred in two ways- substitution of the religion of the first Messenger (i.e. the Messiah) and belied the second Messenger (i.e. Muhammad), just as the Jews substituted the rulings of the Torah before the Messiah was sent and then belied him. The Christians’ denial of Muhammad’s Messengership is a well-known belief of theirs to every Muslim, which is similar to the Jews’ disbelief in the Messiah. The Christians emphasise the disbelief of the Jews greater than what the Jews deserve, because the Jews claimed that the Messiah was a magician and a liar; rather they said that he is an illegitimate child, as Allah informed us about them:

[وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ بُہۡتَـٰنًا عَظِيمً۬ا – And their speech against Maryam (Mary)- a grave false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse]. [An-Nisaa. 156]; but the Christians claimed that the Messiah is Allah, therefore the trial between them and the Jews regarding the Messiah involved a lot of contradictions, misguidance at similar levels and confrontation, and this is why both nations rebuked one another with something more than what each of them deserved, just as Allah said:

وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَهُمۡ يَتۡلُونَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ‌ۗ كَذَٲلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ مِثۡلَ قَوۡلِهِمۡ‌ۚ فَٱللَّهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing; and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing; though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing. [Al-Baqarah. 113]

Muhammad Bin Abee Muhammad the protege of Zaid Bin Thabit reported from Ikrimah or Saeed Bin Jubayr, who reported from Ibn Abbaas that when the Christian delegation of Najraan came to Allaah’s Messenger, the Rabbis came and argued with them in the presence of the Messenger; so Rabee Bin Hurmilah said, “You are upon nothing” and thus he disbelieved in Isa and all the Injeel. Then a man from the people of Najran said to the Jews, “You are upon nothing”, and thus he willfully denied Musa’s, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, Prophethood and disbelieved in the Torah, thus, Allah revealed: 

وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَهُمۡ يَتۡلُونَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ‌ۗ 

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing; and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing; though they both recite the Scripture. [Al-Baqarah. 113]

So each of them recited the affirmation of what they reject in their book- meaning, the Jews disbelieved in Isa whilst they had the Torah in which Allah established the evidence against them through Musa that they should believe in Isa and the Injeel, and Isa confirmed Musa’s Messengership and what he came with. So, each one disbelieved in what was in the possession of the other. [Ibn Abee Hatim. 1/339]

[وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ – The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing]: Qatadah said regarding this verse, “Certainly, the early Christians were upon something, but they innovated and split”.

[وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ – and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing]: Qatadah said regarding this verse: “Certainly, the early Jews were upon something, but they innovated and split”. The Jews belied the religion of the Christians and said that the Christians were upon nothing; and the Christians denied everything through which the Jews were distinguished from them, even the laws of the Torah which the Messiah did not abrogate; rather he commanded them to act upon it. As for the Jews, they denied many things through which others were distinguished from them, until they denied the truth brought by Isa.

So, even though the Christians – due to that which they innovated of exaggeration and misguidance – went into extremes in excommunicating the Jews and showed them enmity beyond what is obligated, however there is no doubt that the Jews disbelieved when they belied the Messiah, as Allah [The Exalted] said to the Messiah [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him]:

إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ

Indeed, I will take you (Jesus) (in your sleep) and raise you (alive) to Myself and clear you of (the forged statements) of those who disbelieve (that you are Allāh Himself, or His Son, or an imposter), and make those who follow you (as My servant and messenger, and who worship Me alone) superior to those who disbelieve (and plot against you) 

Allah said:

قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبۡنُ مَرۡيَمَ لِلۡحَوَارِيِّـۧنَ مَنۡ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ قَالَ ٱلۡحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحۡنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ فَـَٔامَنَت طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ۬ مِّنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ وَكَفَرَت طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ۬‌ۖ فَأَيَّدۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّهِمۡ فَأَصۡبَحُواْ ظَـٰهِرِينَ

Isa the son of Maryam said to Al-Hawariun (the disciples): “Who are my helpers (in the Cause) of Allah?” Al-Hawarieen (the disciples) said: “We are Allah’s helpers” (i.e. we will strive in His Cause!). Then a group of the Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We gave power to those who believed against their enemies, and they became the uppermost. [As-Saff. 14]

The disbelief of the Christians – due to their denial of Muhammad’s Messengership – is greater than the disbelief of the Jews due to their denial of the Messiah’s Messengership, because indeed the Messiah only abrogated a little from the Torah and all the laws and acts of worship ordained for him could be traced back to the Torah; however the majority of the beliefs and practices of the Christians were innovated after the departure of the Messiah. That which is found in the Jews’ denial of the Messiah by opposing Allah’s Shariah is not the same as the Christians’ denial of Muhammad, who brought an independent book from Allah, because nothing in the laws of the Qur’an was ordained based on the law of another Messenger. Allah said:

أَوَلَمۡ يَكۡفِهِمۡ أَنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبَ يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَرَحۡمَةً۬ وَذِڪۡرَىٰ لِقَوۡمٍ۬ يُؤۡمِنُونَ 

Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur’an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe]. [Al-Ankabut. 51]

The Qur’an is an independent book like the Torah of Musa, even though the Qur’an is greater than it. And this is why the Christian scholars made a connection between Musa and Muhammad, just as when An-Najaashee, may Allah have mercy upon him- the Ethiopian king of the Christians- heard the Qur’an, he said, “Indeed, this and what Musa brought came from the same source”. Also, when Waqarah bin Nawfil, may Allah have mercy upon him, – who was one of Christian Arab scholars- heard the statement of the Prophet, he said, “Indeed, the Naamoos [i.e. Jibreel] who came to you was sent to Musa. I wish that I were young till when your people expel you”. Allaah’s Messenger asked, “Will these people drive me out?” Waraqah said, “Yes, because nobody brought the like of what you have brought, but was treated with hostility. If I were to remain alive till your day (when you start calling to Islam), then I would support you strongly”. [Bukhari]

And this is why Allah mentioned the Torah and the Qur’an together in His statement:

فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِنۡ عِندِنَا قَالُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُوتِىَ مِثۡلَ مَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰٓ‌ۚ أَوَلَمۡ يَڪۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُ‌ۖ قَالُواْ سِحۡرَانِ تَظَـٰهَرَا وَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا بِكُلٍّ۬ كَـٰفِرُونَ

قُلۡ فَأۡتُواْ بِكِتَـٰبٍ۬ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡہُمَآ أَتَّبِعۡهُ إِن ڪُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِينَ

But when the truth (i.e. Muhammad with his Message) has come to them from Us, they say: “Why is he not given the like of what was given to Musa (Moses)? Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Musa (Moses) of old? They say: “Two kinds of magic [the Tawrat (Torah) and the Qur’an] each helping the other!” And they say: “Verily! In both we are disbelievers.” Say (to them, O Muhammad): “Then bring a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than these two [the Taurat (Torah) and the Qur’an], that I may follow it, if you are truthful.” [Al-Qasas. 48-49]

Allah did not reveal books that were a better guide than the Tawraat and the Qur’an. Then Allah said:

فَإِن لَّمۡ يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لَكَ فَٱعۡلَمۡ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ‌ۚ وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هَوَٮٰهُ بِغَيۡرِ هُدً۬ى مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَہۡدِى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allah? Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allah, and polytheists). [Al-Qasas. 50] [6]

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him: “Whoever testifies that None has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His Slave and His Messenger, and that Jesus is Allah’s Slave and His Messenger, and His Word (be and he was) which He bestowed on Mary and a soul created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he had done even if those deeds were few.” [Al-Bukhari 3435]

 

The Return of Noble Prophet Jesus – peace be upon him

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, said: 

The Last Hour would not come until the Romans would land at al-A’maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract them). When they would arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans would say: Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay, by Allah, we would never get aside from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They will then fight and a third (part) of the army will run away, whom Allah will never forgive. A third (part of the army) which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah’s eye, would be killed and the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And as they would be busy distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves) after hanging their swords by the olive trees, Satan would call out loudly: The Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out, but it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria, he would come out while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the ranks. Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus (peace be upon him) son of Mary would descend and would lead them. When the enemy of Allah would see him, it would (disappear) just as the salt dissolves itself in water and if he (Jesus) were not to confront him at all, even then it would dissolve completely, but Allah would kill him by his (Jesus’s) hand and he would show them (the people) his (Dajjal’s) blood on his lance (the lance of Jesus Christ). [sahih Muslim 2897]

In a long hadith, the Prophet said:

The Messenger of Allah said: “Eisa bin Maryam (as), will be a just judge and a just ruler among my nation. He will break the cross, slaughter the pigs, abolish the Jizyah and charity will be left. No one will be appointed to (collect the Zakah of) sheep and camels. Grudges and mutual hatred will disappear and the venom of every venomous creature will be removed, so that a baby boy will but his hand in a snake and it will not harm him, and a baby girl will make a lion run away, and it will not harm her; and the wolf will be among the sheep like their sheepdog. The earth will be filled with peace just as a vessel is filled with water. The people will be united and none will be worshipped except Allah. War will cease and Quraish will no longer be in power. The earth will be like a silver platter, with its vegetation growing as it did at the time of Adam, until a group of people will gather around one bunch of grapes and it will suffice them, and a group will gather around a single pomegranate and it will suffice them. An ox will be sold for such and such amount of money, and a horse will be sold for a few Dirham. [Ibn Majah 4077]

Early Attempts to Corrupt Sound Creed Under the Pretence of So Called Scholarly Refinement and Objectivity

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Shamsuddeen Al-Afghaanee As-Salafi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The books of Greek Philosophy, which encompassed notions of grave and idol worship, were translated into Arabic, thus, many who identified with Islam, such as Al-Farabi, (a) Ibn Sina Al-Hanafi, (b) and Nasir at-Tusi, an advocate of disbelief and shirk, (c) and others among who played tricks Islam, akin to how Paul manipulated the tenets of Christianity, busied themselves with these books.

They were influenced by the ideas of the Greek philosophers, particularly the veneration of graves, transforming them into proponents of such practices. The practices of these people were rife amidst the ranks of the proponents of theological rhetoric among the Hanafi Maturidiyyah (d) and the Ash’ariyyah Kullabiyyah, as they immersed themselves in the writings of these philosophers, thus, influenced by the creed of grave worship. They emerged as advocates for grave worship and the creed of the Jahmiyyah at the same time, exemplified by the likes of Taftazani Al-Hanafi, a philosopher of the Maturidiyyah and a proponent of grave worship, alongside Jurjanee Al-Hanafi, who was a caller to superstition.

He said that Philosophy is more perfect than Prophet hood. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said about him: “Misguided, a disbeliever”. Imam Ibnu Salah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “He was a devil amongst the human devils”. Revival of The Authentic Sunnah Every Hundred Years

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah will raise for this Ummah at the end of every hundred years the one who will revive its religion for it”. [2]

“Allah will raise for this Ummah”- Meaning the Ummah Ijabah [i.e. the Muslims]. “At the end of every hundred years”- Meaning at the end of every hundred years when there is little knowledge of the Shariah and the authentic Prophetic Tradition, whilst ignorance and religious innovation is rife. “One who will revive its religion for it”- Meaning a scholar who is alive and well known. He will clarify the authentic Prophetic Tradition and distinguish it from the religious innovations. knowledge will be abundant again and its adherents will be aided, and the proponents of religious will be overcome and degraded. This reviver is non else but a scholar who has sound understanding of the religious sciences that deal with acts of worship, the underlying wisdoms of the religion and the texts that deal with beliefs of the heart. There will not cease to be a group of people upon the Truth and Sunnah’ – Sharhus-Sunnah al-Barbahārī by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah, may Allah preserve him.
