This is a festival celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday before the Iranian New Year, Nowruz, a so called ritual cleansing ceremony. So, people demand that the fire takes all away their yellowing (Yellow = Zard in Farsi), their ailments and problems, and replace them with redness, warmth and power. The festival has some connection with Zoroastrianism [Religion of The Fire Worshippers], but they held that jumping from the top of fire is not good. On this last Wednesday of the year, before sunset on Tuesday, people kindle fires outside their houses. Both adults and children jump from the top of the fire flames and say, “Zardi-e Man Az To, Sorkhi-e To Az man,” to give all of last year’s sadness and problems to fire in order to begin the new year with happiness and ease etc. You’ll also find other myths related to this celebration, but it is enough to know that it has some connection with the polytheism of the Zoroastrians (Fire worshippers)- a Jaahiliy festival (Pre-Islamic Festival). The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The most hated people to Allaah are three: a person who deviates from right conduct [i.e. an evil doer] in the Haram [sanctuaries of Makkah and Medeenah], a person who seeks that the traditions of the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance should remain in Islam and a person who seeks to shed somebody’s blood without any right”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari 6882]

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “These three deeds are from the major sins. The first major sin is Al-Ilhaad Fil Haram [i.e. deviating from right conduct in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah]. Ilhaad means to deviate from the truth (and enter into) falsehood, and supporting falsehood in order to obliterate the truth. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] censured the Mulhideen Fil Haram [i.e. those who deviate from right conduction in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah], saying:

[وَمَن يُرِدۡ فِيهِ بِإِلۡحَادِۭ بِظُلۡمٍ۬ نُّذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ۬ – And whoever intends evil actions therein or to do wrong (i.e. practice polytheism and leave Islamic Monotheism), We shall make him taste a painful torment]. [Surah Al-Hajj. Aayah 25]

Allaah promised them (a severe punishment) due to the mere fact they intend evil actions therein [i.e. in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah], then how about perpetrating such deed! Indeed that would be a more severe sin, a more frightening state and a more severe punishment. This is a proof regarding the virtue of the sanctuaries of the Haram- that it is a sacred land chosen by Allaah and He made it a place where virtuous acts of worship are performed, (such as) the Hajj which is one of the pillars of Islaam. Allaah gave this place virtues that cannot be enumerated, such as the increased reward attached to good deeds [performed in Makkah and Madeenah] and gave this land virtue over all other lands of the earth.

The second major sin is committed by the person who wants that the pre-Islamic traditions should remain in Islaam, as if he gives precedence to the pre-Islamic traditions – the evil customs that were followed during that period and the misguided deeds- over the Islamic practices, Eemaan, Ihsaan, their virtue and virtue of the Sunnah. He is guilty of committing a major sin, and this includes giving precedence to religious innovations over (the authentic) Sunnah that guides to the straight path.

The third major sin is to seek to shed somebody’s blood without any right – meaning: seeking to shed the blood of a Muslim without right and doing so based on oppression and animosity. Shedding the blood of a Muslim is a great crime, just as the Prophet said, “The extinction of the whole world is less significant to Allaah than killing a Muslim [i.e. unlawfully]”. And he [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] stated regarding the rights of the Ka’bah, “How great you are and how great is your sanctity! But the sanctity of a believer is greater than yours in the sight of Allaah”. It is not permissible to transgress against the Muslims and the believers – males and females- in the sanctuaries of [Makkah and Madeenah] or in other places due to the great sin and punishment which results from that. In an article dated February 10th 2021, Heba Yosry stated that UN Women declared February 6th the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a practice criminalized in several Muslim countries, with Egypt one of them. It recently increased the period of imprisonment for anyone guilty of doing this from 5-7 years, to 5-20 years. Dar al-Ifta the highest Islamic legislative body in Egypt, proclaims that FGM is forbidden under Islamic law because of the physical and mental damage that it causes. The punitive measures in place do little to deter some parents from subjecting their young daughters to this atrocious procedure. Too often we hear about girls who die due to a botched circumcision or from excessive bleeding. Many FGM victims who survive the attack on their genitalia, then endure the physical and emotional scars that can cripple their future mental, reproductive and sexual wellbeing. The detrimental physical and psychological effects of FGM are well documented and well communicated, but the question remains: Why is FGM still practiced? The answer is the female body. FGM is a crude and abhorrent version of a chastity belt, applied with the misguided and malicious intent to keep a girl’s pureness. It guarantees the young woman will not lose her mind in moments of passion and act on her lust, and on this very basis the people who believe this are preposterous. The recent case of a grown married woman coerced by her husband to undergo a FGM procedure because he suffered from sexual dysfunction, and his unfounded suspicion of her infidelity shows his weakness; not hers. This is hardly an isolated incident. Husbands have ordered several wives to endure the humiliating and painful procedure. Iran jailed an academic partly because of his research on FGM. The female body doesn’t just scare people; it terrorizes governments too. Politicizing the female body is hardly new. Yet the underlying assumption is rarely questioned. Instead, the intention is explained away as conforming to an ancient practice. FGM rests within the perception that women are either inferior beings who are unable to control their libido or that they are gullible creatures who need guarded against the faceless seducer who will sully her honor. Both assumptions are founded upon the primordial conception that a girl’s body is an object belonging to another, whether a father or a husband. Girls, naturally, lack the ability to make their own decisions. Eradication of lust from the female body is essential because saving a girl or a woman from her innate desires is a man’s mission. Men are doing the right thing because as soon as a girl starts to show any signs of womanhood pruning her body protects the family honor. Utter nonsense. FGM isn’t merely an ugly practice that some Muslims aim to continuously repudiate in front of the Western world. FGM is a statement articulated on the feminine body, a stigma that she must carry her whole life to attest for her inaptitude as a human being, of her inferior status, of the pain she must endure simply because she was born a girl. FGM is a painful manifestation of gender inequality. As countries take steps to end the practice of FGM, through legislative measures that punish its perpetrators, they must address the foundational preconditions that allow this practice to thrive. Imagine this: A father takes a 12-year-old girl to a makeshift clinic, and assures her on their way that she will be alright, that the procedure won’t hurt as much as she thinks, and that this pain is necessary, and compensated with the congratulatory gifts that she will receive. She will be an adult. The girl continues to walk beside her father aided with the pride that she will now be a grown up, and the faith that her father will never do anything to hurt her. She enters the clinic, lies on the cold steel examining table, the nurse pulls up her dress and ties her legs so that she doesn’t kick to protect herself. Her father holds her arms to prevent her from moving. A man emerges holding a blade. He approaches the girl, spreads her legs. She screams. Let her screams be heard, and end the abomination that is, FGM. [End of quote]

Before presenting the knowledge-based research on this subject matter by Shaikh Abu Iyaad [may Allaah preserve him], we remind Heba Yosry that her above statement is a mixture of truth and falsehood, ignorance, ambiguity and emotion – devoid of detail and distinction. It would have been better for her to refrain from speaking about a subject matter whose complete truth and falsehood is not manifest to her, because indeed as the saying goes, ”Silence beautifies the scholar and conceals the ignorance of the ignorant one”. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah be pleased with him] said: ”It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction, because unrestricted and general (statements) without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence (i.e. the world), misguided the intellects and views in every era”. Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said, ”There has to be detail explanation. The one who is not proficient in giving detail should keep quiet, because benefit is not acquired from his speech. And every time error occurs, its cause is due to an absence of detail explanation regarding truth and falsehood. There has to be detail explanation and distinction and not to mix up [affairs]. Indeed, it may be that there is something of truth and falsehood in an opponent’s statement, so all of it is neither deemed to be false nor truth; rather there has to be a distinction between its truth and falsehood. All of it is neither rejected nor accepted; rather a distinction is made regarding the truth and what is correct and the falsehood and error in it. And if you are not proficient in giving detail, then you should not enter into this field”. [Ref 1]

We remind Heba Yosry to refrain from conjecture as Allaah [The Exalted] said: [إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ – They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire].

There is a tremendous benefit derived from this above statement, because the one deprived of sound Eemaan and the sound creed sent down as revelation by Allaah- The Lord of the Aalameen, then his affair is one of two: Corruption in Knowledge or Corruption in his Intent– corruption in knowledge occurs as a result of following conjecture and corruption in one’s intent occurs as a result of following desires, or the person may combine both of them.  Another benefit derived from this is that the rectification or well-being of a person cannot be attained except by way of two affairs: Upright (or sound) Knowledge and Upright (or sound) Intent. This is why Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy upon him) said in Miftaah Daarus Sa’aadah that a person is in need of two things: ‘(Sound) Knowledge by way of which he is (rightly) guided and lofty aspiration by way of which he is urged towards that (sound aspiration)’, because it maybe that a person has beneficial knowledge but not (sound) intent and aspiration. Therefore, one cannot be upright except by way of upright knowledge and intent. Sound knowledge is corrupted through following conjecture and sound intent is corrupted through following the desires of one’s soul.
Allaah [The Exalted] stated about the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam]: [مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ-Your companion (Muhammad) has neither gone astray nor has erred]. That is because the Daal (misguided person) is one whose knowledge is corrupted and the Ghaawiy (astray one) is the one whose intent is corrupted. Also, the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] described his four khulafaa [Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali (may Allaah be pleased with them)] with the words ‘Raashideen and Mahdiyyeen’, because the Raashid [i.e. The one who is steadfast upon the right path and is firmly established upon it] is the opposite of the Ghaawiy [The one who strays from the right path or conduct], and the Mahdee [The one guided to the path of truth and yeilds obediently to it] is the opposite of the Daalun [the misguided one, especially in knowledge and creed]. A Brief History of Vandalism

Imaam Shaykaani [rahimahullaah] stated in the biography of Yahyah Ibn Muhammad Al-Hoothee: On the night of 24th Ramadhaan- in the year 1216AH [1802CE] – a great trial took place at Sana when some of those who openly demonstrated their allegiance to Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] with extreme ignorance – whilst concealing their raafidah beliefs – gave Yahyah Ibn Muhammad Al-Hoothee the lecturing seat of those senior scholars who are well qualified to deliver admonitions. They commanded him to transmit Sayyid Ishaaq Ibn Yoosuf Al-Mutawakkil’s book titled ‘Tafreej Al-Kuroob’ to the common people, which was based on the subject matter of Ali’s [radiyallaahu-anhu] virtues. However, Yahyah Ibn Muhammad Al-Hoothee did not stop at transmitting what was in the book; rather he abused some of the Salaf [pious predecessors] in order to fulfil the goals of those who pushed him towards that intent and to diminish the worth of some of the people who work for the state [or government].

So, on the night of 24th Ramadhaan 1216AH, the common people attended the main city mosque as usual alongside some of those well-read men, who deserve to be charged with oppression because they are more ignorant than the common people [i.e. because they refrained from stopping evil]. When Yahyah failed to turn up at the designated time of the lecture – and that was to take place before the Ishaa prayer – some of the people in the mosque became agitated, began raising their voices with a tirade of cursing and prevented others from praying Ishaa. They were then joined by those who harboured treacherous intentions against the state – those who concealed the beliefs of the raafidah – and the common people.

Then they left the main city mosque and started shouting in the street- cursing the dead and the living [i.e. the people they hated] – and the crowd increased in their thousands. They proceeded to the house of the scholar Ahmad Haatim and threw stones at it. Then they proceeded to the house of Sayyid Isma’eel Ibn Hasan Shaamee and threw stones at it, and they went into extremes until they vandalised as much as they were able to.

Then they proceeded to Imaam Sharaf Ad-Deen’s school, whilst intending to kill him [Sharaf Ad-Deen]; but Allaah saved him and he escaped to where they could not perceive. They also intended to kill the scholar Ahmad Haatim, but he escaped from the main mosque and came to my house whilst we were transmitting from my explanation of Al-Muntaqaa in the presence of the some of the scholars.

Thereafter, those common people were still determined [to cause more trouble], so a group of them proceeded towards the house of Sayyid Ali Ibn Ibraaheem and threw stones at it. They evicted the women and children and violated their honour. And the only reason they stoned the house of Ali Ibn Ibraaheem was because during those days he used to deliver admonitions in the main city mosque and he was neither a raafidi nor one who cursed.

Then they were all determined once again, whilst shouting and proceeding towards the houses of the minister Al-Hasan Ibn Uthmaan Al-Ulfee and Al-Hasan Ibn Ali Hinsh. The two buildings were adjacent to each other, so they stoned both of them. And the only reason they stoned the house of Al-Hasan Ibn Uthmaan Al-Ulfee was because his lineage was traced back to Bani Umayyah [i.e. the clan of Abu Sufyaan, Uthmaan and Mu-aawiyyah (may Allaah be pleased with them)]. And they stoned the house of Hasan Ibn Ali Hinsh because he used to manifest the Sunnah and freed himself from the beliefs of the raafidah…..up until Imaam Shaykaani said: ‘’Indeed, they did that which neither a believer nor a disbeliever would do.’’

Will You Then Take Him And His Offspring As Protectors And Helpers Rather Than Me?!

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ ۗ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمْ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ ۚ بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلًا

And (remember) when We said to the angels; “Prostrate to Adam.” So they prostrated except Iblis (Satan). He was one of the jinns; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him (Iblis) and his offspring as protectors and helpers rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the exchange for the Zalimun. [18:50]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] stated: Allaah says to His slaves: I ennobled your father; raised his rank and gave him preference over others. I commanded all the angels to prostrate to him as a (sign) of honour and nobility, and they obeyed Me; but my enemy and yours (i.e. Iblees) refused (to prostrate) and disobeyed my command. He refrained from obeying Me (Allaah), so how can it be fair seeming to you (sons of Aadam) that you take him and his offspring as allies besides Me (Allaah)- obeying him and disobeying Me, allying with him against what pleases Me, whilst they (Iblees and his offspring) are the severest enemies to you. So you ally with My enemy and he commands you with his enmity! Whoever allies with an enemy of a king, then he is the same as the enemy of the king, for indeed love and obedience cannot be complete except by way of having enmity towards the enemy of the one you follow and having allegiance to the friends of the one you follow. As for having allegiance to the enemy of the king and then claiming that you are the ally of the king, this is impossible.

Comment on the above: Music is a major sin in the sight of the Creator; however none is allowed to take the law into his own hands. Secondly, even if the Muslim authorities sought to arrest those who were playing music, the penalty for such a deed is not capital punishment, so how about one who takes the law into his own hands and commits murder in the name of enjoining good and forbidding evil. This is what occurs when an ignoramus seeks to enjoin good and forbid evil in the name of Islam and thus not only cause more harm than good, rather he transgresses the limits and commits a greater sin, because murder is a greater sin and crime than music.

Three bombs were detonated on three separate trains on the London Underground and one on a double-decker bus. Non-Muslims: The Jewish Defense League (JDL) is a Jewish religious-political organization in the United States, whose stated goal is to “protect Jews from antisemitism by whatever means necessary”. It is classified as “a right wing terrorist group” by the FBI since 2001, and has been designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[3] According to the FBI, the JDL has been involved in plotting and executing acts of terrorism within the United States.

Kach, Kahane Chai (Israel, extremists): Kach is a hard-line Israeli militant group that advocates for the expulsion of Arabs from the biblical lands of Israel. The U.S. State Department listed it as a terrorist organization in 1994. Kach, as well as the splinter group Kahane Chai, condones violence as a viable method for establishing a religiously homogenous state. The group has not staged a large terrorist attack since 1994, although people affiliated with the groups have been arrested for “low-level attacks” since 2000, according to the State Department’s 2006 Country Report. In 2006 a U.S. Federal Court upheld that Kach was rightly listed as a terrorist organization in an appeal.

Two died inside the church: a 60-year-old woman who was “virtually beheaded”, and a 55-year-old man whose throat was cut. The male victim was a lay member of staff responsible for the upkeep of the church. He reportedly had a wife and two children. Another woman, aged 44, managed to flee to a nearby cafe after being stabbed several times, but died later.

Boko Haram kidnaps 40 loggers and kills three in north-east Nigeria

A group of more than 40 loggers left Shehuri on the outskirts of Gamboru on Thursday and never returned by evening as usual,” said militia leader Umar Kachalla, who was involved in the search. “On Friday we mobilised men and went deep into the forest where we recovered three bodies identified to be among the loggers, without a trace of their colleagues.”

The missing loggers were presumed kidnapped by the jihadists, who are known to maintain camps in the forest, said Kachalla, a view widely shared in the area.

“We believe the men were taken by Boko Haram who have been attacking loggers in the forest,” said another militia member, Shehu Mada. “From all indication the three dead loggers were shot when they tried to escape as they all were shot from behind.”
