Say Allah Knows Best – Shaykh Alee Naasir Al-Faqeehi (Hafidahullah)

Shaykh Alee Naasir Al-Faqeehi advised the students and general folk regarding speaking about affairs of the religion;

People should not speak except if they know and if they don’t know they should say: Allah knows best, just as the companions did.

Fatwa Without Knowledge – By Al-Qaasim Ibn Muhammad

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, (saying): Fadl Ibn Dukayn related to us, (saying): Sufyaan informed us from yahyah Ibn Saeed who said: ‘’I heard Al-Qaasim Ibn Muhammad say: ‘’A person lives his (whole) life being ignorant is better for him than giving fataawaa without knowledge.’’ Source: Kitaabul Ilm of Abu Khaythama with the checking of Shaikh Al Albaani: Narration number:90. Six Affairs That Will Deprive Us of Knowledge

  1. To abandon asking
  2. Not silently listening and not giving an attentive ear
  3. Misunderstanding or wrong understanding
  4. Lack of memorisation
  5. Not disseminating and teaching it; for whoever accumulates [and keeps knowledge as a secret] and does not disseminate it, Allaah will afflict him by making him forget it- as a just recompense.
  6. Not acting upon it, for indeed acting upon [knowledge] compels one to remember and ponder upon it, guard and examine it. But if he does not act upon it, he will forget it.

What is The Tool of Islaam If it is The Case That Every Workman Needs His Tools to Do His Work?

Abu Sufyaan Saalih Bin Mehraan Ash-Shaybaani [rahimahullaah] said: Every workman will be unable to carry out his craft without tools [of that craft], and Islaam’s tool is Ilm [sound knowledge from the Qur’aan, authentic Sunnah and understanding of the Salaf].

Even Though the Nights Have Become Longer, However a Student of Knowledge Should Avoid Excess Sleep

The student of knowledge should sleep less as long as it does not harm his body and mind. He should not sleep more than eight hours in a day and night, which is a third of one’s time within a twenty four hour period. However, if he is able to sleep less, he should do so.

Among The Best Ways to Help You Memorize and Retain What You Have Learnt – A Beneficial Reminder by Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaari (may Allaah preserve him)

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

[1] Distancing oneself from sins…

It has been reported in Rawdatul Uqalaa and Hilya that Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu-anhu said, ‘’Indeed I reckon that a man forgets knowledge he learnt due to a sin he committed…..

[2] Acting upon what you have learnt…. as Imaam Wakee (rahimahullaah) stated that they used to seek strengthened their memorization of Hadeeth by acting upon what they learnt…etc

[3] Do not memorise haphazardly and make yourself tired…. rather memorise little by little in order to progress in stages. Memorize what you are able – one ayah or two, or one line or two lines. Do not go beyond what you are not able to do because you will be afflicted with boredom, and when afflicted with boredom you will abandon it…..

[4] Repetition…. repeat what you have learnt or memorised, as Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said that repetition is the training (or preparation) in every affair….

The legs are strengthened through a lot of walking, so likewise the mind is strengthened with a lot of repetition and memorization and Allaah loves that a servant turns to Him-asking Him for aid and assistance, guidance etc
