Ash Shabee (rahimahullaah) said:
”Indeed we are not fuqahaa (i.e. scholars of sound understanding who also act upon knowledge); rather we listen to hadeeth and transmit it. But the fuqahaa are those who act when they know (of some knowledge)” [Iqtidaa Al-Ilm Al-Amal page:79]

On the authority of Zur Bin Hubaish who said: I came to Sufyaan Bin Assaal Al-Muraadee so he said to (me): ‘’What have you come for?’’ So I said: ‘’To seek knowledge’’; so he said: ‘’Indeed the angels lower their wings for the one seeking knowledge due to being pleased with what he seeks.”

Abu khaythama (rahimahullaah) reported in Kitaabul Ilm with a chain of transmission going back to Hasan al-Basri, who said: ” When a man sits amongst the people and they consider him to be ignorant even though he is not, then this is the Muslim who possesses understanding in truth.

Abu khaythama narrated in kitaab al-ilm with a chain of transmission going back to Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Bishr Al-Azraq that two men came in from the doors of kinda whilst Abu Mas’ood Al-Ansaari was sitting in a gathering–(so) one of them (.i.e. one of the two men) said: “Is any man here to judge between us?” A man from the gathering said: “I can.” So Abu Mas’ ood got hold of a handful of pebbles and hit him with them. Thereafter he said to him:”Indeed it used to be hated that a person should hasten to give a verdict. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah ( rahimahullah ) said: Ar-Rafd [i.e.the beliefs, views of the Shiite Raafidah] is the greatest of doors to hypocrisy and hearsay. [Majmoo-ul Fataawaa 4/428]

Shaikh Muhammand Amaan Al-Jaami (rahimahullah ) said:
“We neither live in this country under parliamentary majority rule in which is found numerous partisan parties nor do we live under a dictator who rules by the sword; neither are we ruled by an individual nor by a group…..we are ruled by the Laws of Allaah. The rulers of this country are only considered to be authorities who implement (the Islamic laws) and they are not considered to be those who have authority over the Islamic laws. There cannot be found among us those who have authority over the Islamic law and its existence is not permissible; rather it is not permissible to find among the muslims those who have authority over the Islamic laws–who legislate alongside Allaah. We rule by the laws of Allaah in this country and this is something well known, even to the man who works in the market…

The origin of the wedding ring emanates from an old practice of the christians whereby the groom would place the ring on the left-hand thumb of the bride and say, “in the name of the father”, then he would move it across to the index finger and say, “in the name of the son”, then he woud move it across to the middle finger and say, “in the name of the holy ghost”, then finally the next movement would mean the ring then ended up upon the finger now known as the “ring finger” where the wedding ring would then remain and “amen” said upon it.

Shaikh bin Baz concerning wedding rings, “I do not know any basis for this act, this was not from the customs of the muslims…so I consider leaving it is better, it is safer and further from imitation of the disbelievers, it has not reached us that the Salaf as-Salih ever did anything of this nature”. Shaikh Fawzan also stated, “It is not permissible to wear wedding rings at all due to:
1] Imitation of non-islamic customs
2] If the person thinks the ring aids in strengthening the love between the husband and wife then this is from Shirk”.
