Sahl Ibn Abdillaah At-Tustaree (rahimahullaah) said:
”There is no one who innovates something into knowledge except that he will be asked about it on the day of judgement; if it agreed with the Sunnah, then he is safe, and if not, then that is ruin.’’
[Quoted by Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaari (hafidha-hullaah) in Sharh Mandhoomah Al-Bayqooniyyah: lesson 1 and he reference it to Jaami Bayaanil Ilm Wa-Fadlihee of Ibn Abdul Barr (rahimahullaah)]
