In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Abu Ma’shar (rahimahullaah) said: ‘‘I asked Ibraaheem An-Nakha’ee (rahimahullaah) about these desires (i.e. newly invented affairs in the religion; so he said:

”Allaah has not placed an atom’s weight of good in them, and they are nothing else but a persuasion from the devil. (So) it is incumbent upon you to stick to the first affair (i.e. the way of the Prophet and the Sahaabah).
