He asks, Noble Shaykh, may Allah bless you. It hurts us deeply, what we see of the attempts to lower the station of our virtuous scholars, and the biggest difficulty is what we see from those weak in intellect getting carried away behind the likes of these (individuals belittling the scholars) on social media platforms. So what advice (do you have) for us and the attendees on respecting and appreciating our scholars?

This is not something new, those who attempt to lower the station of the scholars, the callers to Allah and the people of religion have predecessors (in this).

Those who defame such of the believers who give charity (in Allah’s Cause) voluntarily, and such who could not find to give charity (in Allah’s Cause) except what is available to them, so they mock at them (believers), Allah will throw back their mockery on them, and they shall have a painful torment. (At-Tawbah: 79)

This is sufficient (as a warning), that Allah throws their mockery back onto them. When they mock the people of knowledge, then indeed Allah throws their mockery back onto them, and we ask Allah for well being.
