They said, “We have killed the Messiah, son of Maryam, Allah’s Messenger” Part 1

In The Name of Allah, The Most` Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]: But Allah raised him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise. [An-Nisa 157-158]

Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah].

Imam Ibn kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: (Meaning):

“We (i.e. the plotters) have killed this one (i.e. Jesus) who claimed this position (or rank) for himself”. This statement was made from the angle of false accusation and mockery, similar to the statement of the polytheists: [يا أيها الذي نزل عليه الذكر إنك لمجنون – O you to whom the Reminder has been revealed, indeed you are insane]. [Al-Hijr 6]

“The Rabis of the Jews (at that time) when Allah sent Isa (Jesus), the son of Mary, with clear signs and guidance, they envied him for the prophethood and the remarkable miracles bestowed upon him. These miracles included healing the blind and the leprous, as well as raising the dead by Allah’s permission. He fashioned a bird from clay, breathed into it, and it became a living bird that flew by Allah’s will, among other miracles that Allah honored him with and manifested through his hands. Despite this, they belied and opposed him, and endeavored to harm him in every possible way unil the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, could not reside among them in the town; instead, he and his mother, peace be upon them, frequently traveled. Yet, this was not enough to satisfy them, as they sought the king of Damascus at that time—a man who was a polytheist and a worshiper of celestial bodies, known as the Greeks. They reported to him that there was a man in Jerusalem who was misleading the people and corrupting the king’s subjects. This infuriated the king, prompting him to write to his deputy in Jerusalem, instructing him to take precautions against the mentioned individual, to crucify him, and to place a crown of thorns upon his head, in order to stop harm on the people”…until the point at which Imam Ibn Kathir stated:

“Indeed, Allah has clarified and elucidated the matter in the magnificent Quran, which He revealed to His noble Messenger, supported by miracles, clear signs, and evident proofs. He, (Allah) – [The Most truthful in speech, the Lord of the entire existence, the one who knows the secrets and innermost thoughts, knows the hidden in the heavens and the earth, knows all that has occurred, all that is to occur (and occurring), and all that did not occur and how it would have occurred if it was to occur] – stated: [وما قتلوه وما صلبوه ولكن شبه لهم – And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)]. They saw someone resembling him and mistakenly believed it to be him, thus Allah stated: [وإن الذين اختلفوا فيه لفي شك منه ما لهم به من علم إلا اتباع الظن – and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture]. [وما قتلوه يقينا بل رفعه الله إليه – For surely; they killed him not [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]: But Allah raised him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens)]. Meaning, those among the Jews who claimed to have killed him and those among the ignorant Christians who believed the same; all of them are in doubt, confusion, misguidance, and error. Thus, Allah stated: [وما قتلوه يقينا – For surely; they killed him not] – Meaning, they were not certain it was him, but rather were in doubt and delusion. [1]

[وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ – And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)].

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

This statement was directed towards the Jews (i.e. those among them who plotted against Isa), and dispraised them for their actions. The Christians were not mentioned because it was those (particular) Jews who were responsible for the crucifixion of the one who was likened to Isa. None of the Christians were present with them; in fact, the disciples were fearful and absent, thus no one among them witnessed the crucifixion. Instead, it was those Jews who informed the people that they have crucified the Messiah. The accounts of His crucifixion that reached both Christians and others originated from those Jews, who were agents of oppression. They were not numerous enough to prevent their agreement on lying”. [2]

Imam Ibn Hazm, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The Christians themselves acknowledged that they did not endevour to get hold of his body during the day due to fear of the public; instead, they took him at night after the people had dispersed following the Passover. Furthermore, it is stated that he remained on the cross for only six hours during the day and was taken down shortly thereafter. The crucifixion allegedly occurred in a location distant from the city, in a garden owned by a potter, which is not a recognised site for crucifixions. After all of this, it would be that they established a context to say that his companions would have run off with his body (in secret) and that Maryam Magdalene, a woman among the common people, did not approach the site of the crucifixion but stood at a distance, observing everything as described in their Gospel. This undermines the notion that the crucifixion was reported (and witnessed) by all people (or numerous people) because it appears to be a concealed and colluded event.

At that time, according to the Gospel, the disciples were fearful for their own safety, fled and remained hidden. And that Peter entered the house of Caiaphas the priest during daylight, so he said to him, “Are you one of Jesus’s associates?” However, he denied this and fled the premises; then how about the claim that it was reported by everyone! This is the meaning of the verse [ولكن شبه لهم – but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)], meaning, those wicked individuals who orchestrated this falsehood conspired together and misled their followers into believing that they had crucified and killed him, despite knowing that this was a lie.

It was never the case that everyone reported the [alleged killing of Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], but even if it were true that they did, then how could it not be possible regarding the fact that every miracle does alter natural phenomena and changes the way senses normally perceive things? If it were indeed the case that everyone saw (or reported) it, then Allah’s statement regarding this event is that He likened another person to Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and blocked their perceptions in the manner they perceived it, (so they thought that it was him who was crucified whereas, it was someone else). This event would be comparable to the migration of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, at night, during which a hundred men from Quraysh, sought after him, yet Allah concealed their vision from him, preventing them from seeing him. However, as for what is not established based on Allah’s statement that He made something appear in a way that is not what is seen or perceived in reality, it would not be permissible to regard it as such, as it leads to an impossibility. Thus, the changing of nature and natural things from what they are in reality cannot be considered possible unless there is definitive proof from Allah, which must be accepted. [Footnote a] But the reality of something can be misperceived by one or two individuals, as well as a result of insanity or foolishness. However, this cannot happen to an entire group (i.e. the populace).

And regarding Allah’s statement: [وما قتلوه وما صلبوه ولكن شبه لهم – And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but the resemblance of ‘Iesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)]. This is regarding those who say that Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was crucified due to blindly following their predecessors among the Christians and Jews. These people were (deceived) based on doubtful (ambiguous) report, as they entered into something false that is made to resemble the truth. The evil elders at that time entered them into this falsehood that was made to resemble the truth. The claimants (those Jews who disbelieved in Isa) told them that they killed and crucified him, while they knew that it was not the case; instead, they secretly conspired to kill and crucify him, preventing public attendance, and subsequently claimed to have killed and buried him to mislead the general populace, who were led to believe the false narrative that was made to resemble the truth. [3]

————————————————————–

Footnote a: The miracles of the Prophets and righteous people who adhered/ adhere to the divine revelation without deviation in creed or worship must not be mistaken for the deceptions of magicians, the people of innovation in religious matters and the devils. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The Khawariq [Phenomena attributed to something outside the norm] by way of which the devils misguide the children of Adam – such as when the devils take the image of a person who is absent or has passed away and what is similar to this – has misguided many of those who ascribe themselves to the Muslims or to the people of the Scripture. They establish this on two affairs: Firstly, that whoever from whom these khawaariq occurs is a Wali, and according to the term of the Christians he is a Qadees A’dheem – a great saint! Secondly, that the one from whom these khawaariq occurs is therefore infallible, everything he narrates is truth and everything he commands is justice”.

However, it can definitely be the case that neither did a phenomena outside the norm – whether unrelated or related to sound knowledge and piety – occur from such a person nor a phenomena outside the normal related to deeds of the devils; rather the person merely carried out the tricks of the liars and wicked sinners. The tricks of the liars and wicked sinners are numerous indeed, so one thinks that they are amazing events outside the norm, however neither is that the case nor is it something similar to the tricks of the monks. Some people have written books regarding the tricks of the monks, such as the trick reported about one of them changing water into oil- that when the oil is in the interior of the lighthouse, the water gradually reduces and thus the oil floats [or pops up] on the water, so those who are present think that the water has changed into oil. The likes of this affair are numerous from the tricks of those Christians, because all that those Christians possess – those who altered the religion of the Messiah [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] – of activities that are attributed to something out of the norm are either from the devils or they are tricks, and there’s nothing in them related to the miracles of the righteous people.

Likewise, the deviated people – those who seek to alter the religion of Muhammad – adopt a religion that is not legislated by Allah and His Messenger, then they make it a path of worship and give it precedence over the path that is legislated by Allah and His Messenger. For example, they give precedence to listening to sounds from the tambourines and the shrill flutes over listening to the book of Allah, so one of them goes into a state of ecstasy and a satanic trance through which he becomes muddled up with shaytan until he speaks in a language he does not know. Then when he returns to his senses – just as when a jinn speaks through the tongue of the one who is possessed and after informing the people of that which is in his heart and soul, which is from the shaytan, and the shaytan leaves him -, he cannot repeat what he said at first.

The heretics alter the religion of the Messengers – either the religion of the Messiah or seek to alter the religion of Muhammad, and amongst the likes of such people are the proponents of hearsay, misguidance, the disbelievers, the polytheists, apostates and other than them, such as the likes of Musaylimah the liar, Al-Aswad Al-Unzee, Al-Haarith Ad-Dimashqee, Baabaa Roomee and other than them amongst those who engaged in activities that are considered to be outside the norm [i.e. so called miracles] but [in reality] are related to the deeds of the devils.

As for the tricksters, they are numerous and they are not Awliyaa of Allah. Their so called amazing activities that are outside the norm- if not related to the satanic deeds of the soothsayers and the magicians – a just tricks. They deliberately lie and deceive unlike those connected to the devils, because amongst them is he who deceives, so one thinks that what he does is from the miracles of the righteous people, just as amongst them is one who knows that what he does is from the devils, but he does so in order to achieve his goals.

The intent behind this discussion is that many of the activities that are considered to be outside of the norm [i.e. so called miracles] are either satanic deeds or tricks, so one thinks that they are the true miracles of the righteous people, for indeed that which whose cause is based on Shirk and wicked deeds can only be from the devils, such as when a person associates partners with Allah by invoking the stars, or invokes a person- whether such a person is dead or absent, or he makes an oath through unknown words and statements whose meanings are not known, or he knows that they are names of devils, or seeks aid through lewd conduct and oppression, then such deeds – considered to be outside of the norm that emanates from this – are from the devils.

The righteous people have miracles such as the miracles of the pious people of this Ummah [may Allah have mercy upon them], the miracles of the disciples of the Messiah [may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Messiah, and may Allah have mercy upon the disciples] and other than them amongst those who were upon the correct and unaltered religion of the Messiah. However, the occurrence of miracles at the hands of the righteous people does not necessitate that they are infallible like the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allah be upon them]; rather it maybe that a righteous man- a Wali – has miracles, but despite this he mixes up by error and makes a mistake in that which he thinks or what he is made to hear or see, or what he sees, or what he understands from the revealed Scripture. And because of this, the statements of those other than the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allah be upon them] can either be accepted or rejected [i.e. based on evidence], but as for the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allah be upon them], it is obligated on a person to affirm truthfully everything they have related regarding the affairs of the unseen and obey them in everything they command. And due to this, Allaah [The Exalted] obligated on a person to believe in everything the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] brought and did not obligate on a person to believe in everything that comes from others.

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 136]

Allah [The Exalted] said:

It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, and each and every act of obedience to Allah, etc.) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets. [Al-Baqarah. 177]

And because of this the Muslims are all in agreement that the one who disbelieved in a single Prophet whose Prophethood is well known, then he is a disbeliever- an apostate. There is no distinction between one Prophet from the other- by believing in some and disbelieving in others. Allah said:

Verily, those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messengers and wish to make distinction between Allah and His Messengers (by believing in Allah and disbelieving in His Messengers) saying, “We believe in some but reject others,” and wish to adopt a way in between. They are in truth disbelievers. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating torment. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayaat 150-151] [4]

Reflections from some statements of Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Mad’khali [36 of 80]

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

O youth! It is obligated to you to adhere to the true path of Allah which Muhammad was sent with, implemented and conveyed by his companions, and adopted by those who followed them exactly in faith, and followed by the victorious group that adheres to Allah’s Book and the Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger. You must endure various forms of hardship, challenges, and difficulties in the path of steadfastness upon this truth and in conveying it. You must adhere to these (matters). The religion has become strange, (as) the Prophet stated: “Islam began as something strange and will return to being strange as it once was, so Toobaa (paradise, salvation) is for the strangers”. [a]

Numerous are the people of Bidah! It is greatly regrettable that they boast about this multitude, while Allah, The Exalted, said:

وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. [Al-An’am 116]

Thus, the criterion is not based on quantity, whether large or small, but rather on what was conveyed by Muhammad, which distinguishes between truth and falsehood, guidance and misguidance, polytheism and monotheism, as well as Sunnah and Bidah. [Marhaban Yaa Talib Al-Ilm page 457]

[2] The virtue of saving a life – [Reminder to those denying Zionist War Crimes]

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Exalted, said:

مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا

If anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. [Al-Ma’idah. 32]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

If a person is bold enough to kill someone who does not deserve to be killed, this implies that he does make a distinction between the one he killed and other than him; rather he would commit this act whenever his evil calls him to that. Therefore, his bold attitude that led him to kill is as if he has killed all humankind. On the other hand, if a person saves a life and does not kill – whilst his soul calls him to do so – due to fear of Allah, this is as if he has saved the lives of all humankind because the fear of Allah he possesses stops him killing one who does not deserve to be killed. [An Excerpt from Tafsir As-Sadi]

In the above article from the Jerusalem Post, the author/s convey their strong disagreement with what they perceive as an exaggerated death toll of Palestinians and raise concerns about the transparency of Gaza’s health authorities in differentiating between combatants and non-combatants. Firstly, nevertheless, even if the statistics provided by various international organizations and Gaza officials contain mistakes, it does not lessen the tragedy of a single innocent life lost. Moreover, it does not change the fact that for more than 70 years, Palestinians have endured violence and oppression at the hands of Zionists, culminating in recent experiences of displacement, starvation, and death. Therefore, while it is crucial to report accurate information—especially in an age rife with misinformation, ideological conflicts, and propaganda—the primary concern for anyone with a sense of justice should be the urgent need to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Various organisations have recorded observations as follows:

Third, it is universally acknowledged that the actions taken by Hamas against unarmed civilians and non-combatants on October 7 are indefensible and are condemned unequivocally. “Upon this, to answer the eternally unanswered question of Piers Morgan, “Do you condemn Hamas?”, we condemn everyone who opposes the Divine Legislation by killing innocent civilians, including non-combatant men, the elderly, women, children, priests, monks and the likes, no matter who they are, Muslim or non-Muslim, whether ISIS, al-Qaeda, Hamas, Boko Haram or Benjamin Mileikowsky, the IDF, Settlers and their likes. Our condemnation is on the basis that such actions are unjust and oppose Divine Legislation and not because of the race or ethnicity or religion of the perpetrators, and thus we are able to maintain moral consistency and integrity. This is unlike Western politicians who are able to swiftly condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and support Ukraine (the invaded and occupied in this case) with money and weapons for resistance, but unwilling to condemn the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Gazans, while supporting the Mileikowsky regime with bombs, missiles and military hardware to facilitate the execution of that genocide and ethnic cleansing. https://abuiyaad.com/a/amalekite-genocide-doctrine-gaza

Hamas must be condemned permanently for what they did, however, none can justify what Netanyahu’s army is doing under the guise of self-defense and retaliation. The reality of the situation is clear: the actions of the Zionist army under Netanyahu’s leadership amount to war crimes, and this is evident to all. Furthermore, the rhetoric employed by certain Zionist leaders, including Netanyahu himself, is telling and cannot be overlooked.

Introspection concerning the internal (hidden) adversary

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, says:

وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُواْ فِينَا لَنَہۡدِيَنَّہُمۡ سُبُلَنَا‌ۚ

As for those who strive hard in Us (Our Cause), We will surely guide them to Our Paths (i.e. Allah’s Religion – Islamic Monotheism)] [29:69]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

“Junaid, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: ‘Those who strive against their (vain) desires through repentance, Allah will guide them to the paths of sincerity. It is not possible to strive against the enemy in the open, except for the one who strives against these enemies inwardly. Thus, whoever is aided against them, he will be victorious against his enemy and whoever is made to be overcome by them, his enemy will be made victorious over him'”. [1]

Imam Ibn Al-Jawzi, may Allah have mercy upon, said:

Beware that (vain) desires urges an individuals to seek immediate gratification without contemplating its evil repercussions – urges one towards fleeting pleasures, despite the fact that it is a cause of pain and harm in this life and an obstruction to pleasure in the afterlife. In contrast, a sensible individual refrains from indulging in pleasures that ultimately yield pain and desires that lead to regret. This serves as a sufficient commendation of what a sound mind dictates and a rebuke against (vain) desires.

Beware that desires can dominate an individual across various domains of study, exits them them from the boundaries of sound reasoning and leading them into behaviour that resemble foolishness. It may infiltrate the realm of knowledge, causing a person to contradict what sound knowledge commands, or it may enter into Zuhd, resulting in a tendency towards Riyaa (showoff, ostentation).

A sensible individual should know that those who succumb to base desires ultimately find themselves in a condition where enjoyment eludes them. Simultaneously, they become incapable of relinquishing these desires, as they begin to perceive them as a necessity of life. Consequently, one observes that individuals struggling with alcoholism and sexual addiction derive minimal satisfaction from their pursuits, yet they find themselves ensnared in a dangerous cycle that compels them to repeatedly engage in these behaviours. However, when one attains clarity of vision and the allure of these base desires diminishes, it becomes evident that they have subjected themselves to a form of destruction that contradicts their well-being—resulting in sorrow and suffering rather than joy in their quest for pleasure. In this regard, they resemble an animal ensnared in a trap, having neither attained the bait that lured them nor the ability to escape.

One should contemplate the fact that humans were not created (solely) to satisfy their desires; instead, they have been endowed with (the capacity for sound knowledge, derived from divine revelation and untainted perception), to consider the repercussions of their actions and to engage in virtuous conduct for the sake of the Afterlife. An animal derives pleasure from eating, drinking, and mating to a greater extent than humans, yet they lead lives that lack reflection and awareness. Consequently, it is driven by its desires, remaining oblivious to the consequences of its actions.

One should reflect on the repercussions of (vain) desires, as many individuals are stripped of their virtues and descend into a state of moral decay as a result. Consider the various types of food that can lead to illness stemming from (unchecked) cravings. Furthermore, how many errors tarnish a person’s honour, resulting in a evil reputation and the burden of guilt from transgressions driven by (vain) desires, yet the individual remains fixated solely on those desires? The most fitting analogy for such a person is that of someone in a tannery; they remain oblivious to the unpleasant odour until they leave, at which point they become acutely aware of where they were.

A sensible individual ought to consider the disgrace that may arise from (vain) desires and the detrimental effects stemming from such pleasures, for they will realise that, in many instances, these consequences are directly linked to those desires and pleasures.

One should reflect on (the presence of) others, ponder and get a hint the potential (evil) outcomes. This reflection will reveal the culpability associated with actions that one might be guilty of. One should contemplate those pleasures, as (sound) reasoning will make them realises that they are merely (fleeting) desires and a situation of blindness. One should contemplate the honour a person receives due to being given the upper hand versus the degradation associated with yielding to one’s desires. The one who overcomes their (vain) desires will strengthen their honour, while the one who succumbs to their desires will not find except humiliation and subjugation in the soul. One should contemplate the benefits of resisting (base) desires, including the respect garnered in this life, the preservation of one’s soul and honour, as well as the rewards that await in the hereafter. Brief Reminder to Ohad Merlin- [The Mighty Declaration “Allahu Akbar” is free from the Hoothies]

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Exalted, says:

وَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٌ فِى ٱلْمُلْكِ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ وَلِىٌّ مِّنَ ٱلذُّلِّ وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيرًۢا

And say: “All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has not begotten a son (nor an offspring), and Who has no partner in (His) Dominion, nor He is low to have a Wali (helper, protector or supporter). And magnify Him with all the magnificence, [Allahu-Akbar (Allah is the Most Great)].” [Al-Israa 111]

[وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً – And magnify Him with all the magnificence, [Allahu-Akbar (Allah is the Most Great)]- Meaning: Proclaim His greatness and magnificence through His great and mighty attributes, praising Him with His perfect Names, glorifying Him through His perfect and pure actions (free from all imperfections), and exalting and venerating Him by worshipping Him alone without ascribing any partner to him, and devoting all the religion sincerely to Him. [1]

Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The meaning is that Allah is greater than all things in His Essence, Names, Attributes, and all that this statement encompasses. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says:

وَمَا قَدَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِۦ وَٱلْأَرْضُ جَمِيعًا قَبْضَتُهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ وَٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ مَطْوِيَّٰتٌۢ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. [Az-Zumar. 67]

Allah says:

And (remember) the Day when We shall roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books, as We began the first creation, We shall repeat it, (it is) a promise binding upon Us. Truly, We shall do it. [Al-Anbiya 104] –

The one whose greatness is as such is greater than everything. [2]

In the above article, Ohad Merlin has pointed out certain aspects concerning the Hoothies, but since individuals like him do not adhere to the true Islamic Monotheism taught by the final Messenger, they are unlikely to tackle the most crucial issues surrounding the Hoothies beyond their hollow slogans. However, this does not imply that Zionists will evade criticism, as both groups are guilty of transgression. The mighty declaration “Allahu Akbar” stands in stark contrast to the actions and beliefs espoused by both the Houthis and the Zionists. The Houthis, characterised by their devotion to garve worship and disdain for the Prophet’s companions, embody a transgressive narrative marked by violence and bloodshed. Similarly, the Zionists, who reject the teachings of the final Prophet, are equally culpable, their actions stained by the atrocities of genocide. [Footnote a]

The Hoothies spend their days and nights in futile cursing, and shouting “Allahu Akbar,” while contradicting the very essence of this mighty declaration by turning to the worship of others besides Allah. Their journey strays far from true Islam, veering instead into grave worship and harboring animosity towards the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. They align themselves as pawns and partners with the Rafidah of Iran.[Footnote b]

As for anti-Semitism, it has already been discussed, emphasising its unequivocal rejection within Islam. https://abuiyaad.com/sn/muslims-antisemitism

However, it’s essential to ensure that this rejection does not serve as a pretext to suppress candid and open dialogue, nor to hinder the presentation of concrete evidence regarding the atrocities committed by Zionists. The declaration of Allahu Akbar stands untainted by the influences of the Houthis, as it remains free from the taint of anti-Semitism and Zionism alike. Both groups, driven by an insatiable thirst for power, have engaged in acts of aggression. For over seventy years, Zionists have relentlessly pursued dominance, inflicting suffering, displacement, and humiliation upon the Palestinian people. Similarly, the Houthis have perpetrated violence against the Sunni community in Dammaj and have been implicated in various war crimes. The Houthis manipulate the verses of the Qur’an, while Zionists reference outdated scriptures to justify their acts of aggression. Read:https://abuiyaad.com/a/amalekite-genocide-doctrine-gaza

Sagacity, Selflessness, and Self-restraint of Our Pious Predecessors

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Aa’isha, may Allah be pleased with her, said that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to her, “O Aisha! Were your people (i.e. the Quraish) not close to the Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance, I would have had the Ka`ba demolished and would have included in it the portion which had been left, and would have made it at a level with the ground and would have made two doors for it, one towards the east and the other towards the west, and then by doing this it would have been built on the foundations laid by Ibrahim, peace be upon him”. This was what urged Ibn-Az-Zubair [may Allah be pleased with him] to demolish the Ka’ba. Jazz said, “I saw Ibn-Az-Zubair when he demolished and rebuilt the Ka`ba and included in it a portion of Al-Hijr (the unroofed portion of Ka`ba which is at present in the form of a compound towards the northwest of the Ka`ba). I saw the original foundations of Abraham which were of stones resembling the humps of camels.” So Jarir asked Yazid, “Where was the place of those stones?” Jazz said, “I will just now show it to you.” So Jarir accompanied Yazid and entered Al-Hijr, and Jazz pointed to a place and said, “Here it is.” Jarir said, “It appeared to me about six cubits from Al-Hijr or so.” [1]

Aa’isha, may Allah be pleased with her, said that she heard Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying, “If your people had not been recent converts to Islam, I would have spent the treasure of the Kabah in the way of Allah and would have constructed its door just on the level of the ground and would have encompassed in it the space of Hijr”. [2]

This hadith provides evidence for the principles of Islamic rulings. One of these principles is that when beneficial matters conflict or when a beneficial matter conflicts with a harmful matter, and it is not possible to both pursue what is beneficial and abandon the harm, then the most important matter should be prioritised. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, informed us that although demolishing the Kabah and returning it to its foundations laid by Ibraaheem, peace be upon him, had a benefit, there was a greater harm associated with it. This harm was the fear of Fitnah among those who had recently accepted Islam due to their belief regarding the virtue of the Kabah, and any alteration to it would have been seen as a significant event. Therefore, the Prophet chose to leave the Kabah as it was. Among them (i.e. principles of the Islamic rulings) is the leader’s consideration of the well-being of his subjects and his caution in avoiding actions that may harm them in religious or worldly matters. However, this does not apply to matters related to the Shariah, such as collecting Zakat, implementing punishments, and similar matters. Among them (i.e. principles of the Islamic rulings) is to foster unity among people, safeguarding them (from division and discord), and not engage in actions that would drive them away or repel them, as long as he does not abandon an affair of the Shariah, as mentioned earlier. [3]

Allah, The Exalted,  says:

And do not insult those whom they (disbelievers) worship besides Allah, lest they insult Allah wrongfully without knowledge. Thus, We have made fair-seeming to each people its own doings; then to their Lord is their return and He shall then inform them of all that they used to do. [Al-An’aam. 108]

Allah forbids the believers from an affair that is permissible; rather, (in and of itself or with regards to its basis), it is legislated (in the Shariah), and that is to revile the false deities of the polytheists – who have adopted idols and falsehood gods (for worship) besides Allah- which a believer reviles as act of worship to draw closer to Allah; however, since this revilement is a way for the polytheists to revile the Lord of the Worlds, whose Greatness must be freed from all defects, evils, revilement, and slander, Allah forbade cursing the (false) gods of the polytheists because they defend their (false) religion and are fanatical toward it. In this noble verse, there is evidence of the Shariah principle, which is that “means are considered based on the matters they achieve, and that the means that will lead to something forbidden are forbidden, even if they are permissible in origin”. [4]

Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Haadee al-Madkhali [may Allah preserve him] said:

Uthman [may Allah be pleased with him] was one of those who restrained the people from bloodshed the most as well as that of the people who violated his honour. Shaikh Al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “What is well known through successive numerous narrations is that Uthman [may Allah be pleased with him] was one of those who restrained the people from bloodshed the most, exercised patience the most regarding the affair of those who violated his honour and those who made a determined attempt to shed his blood, so they besieged him and endeavoured to kill him, and he knew their desire to kill him. The Muslims came to him from every place to help him and indicated to him to fight the besiegers, but he commanded them to refrain from fighting and commanded those who obeyed him not to fight. He said to his slaves, ‘Whoever restrains his hand is freed’. It was said to him, ‘Will you go to Makkah?’ He said, ‘I will not be amongst those who commit evil in the sacred house’. Then it was said to him, ‘Will you not go to Syria?’ He said, ‘I will not leave my place of Hijrah (i.e. Madinah)’. Then it was said to him, ‘Fight them’, he said, ‘I will not be the first in the Ummah of Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] to unleash the sword after the departure of Muhammad’. Uthman’s patience until he was murdered is one of his greatest virtues in the sight of Muslims”. [5]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said:

“Upon realising that he would face death based on his observations of the events and signs, Uthman [may Allah be pleased with him] chose not to engage in fighting or self-defence to prevent conflict among the Muslims. He preferred to be killed rather than (initiating) fighting between Muslims”. [6]

When Mahmud Ibn Subuktikeen [may Allah have mercy upon him] whose army conquered India, wanted to break the biggest idol to which the Hindus travel from every region and spent enormous wealth to establish manifestations of polytheism, the Indians offered him a lot of money to leave the idol. Some of the Muslim rulers advised him to take the wealth and refrain from destroying the idol, but he said, “It is more beloved to me that it is said to me on the day of judgment “Where is Mahmud who broke the idol”, rather than, “Where is Mahmud who left the idol for the sake of what he received from this worldly wealth?” So, he broke the idol and found in it far more jewels, pearls, gold, and precious stones than what they offered him”. [7]

Al-Andalus (Spain), was conquered in the year 92 AH by the forces led by Tariq Bin Ziyad, a protégé of Musa Bin Nusayr, during the caliphate of Al Walid Bin Abdil Malik. Following the successful conquest, Tariq communicated with Musa Bin Nusayr to inform him of the event. However, Musa experienced a sense of jealousy regarding this significant achievement attributed to Tariq. He subsequently wrote to Al-Walid to report the conquest and cautioned Tariq, as the latter had entered Spain without prior authorisation. Musa instructed Tariq to refrain from advancing beyond his current position until they could meet. Musa then hastened with his army into Spain, accompanied by Habib Bin Abee Ubaidah Al-Fahriy. Upon their meeting, Tariq expressed, “I am indeed your protégé, and this conquest is yours.” [8]

Emotional Challenges

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Some emotional challenges mentioned by Al-Allamah Abdur Rahman Bin Yahyah Al-Mu’allimee that may have prevented al-Kawtharee from embracing the truth

To oppose desires – by way of action – for the sake of the truth is a manifest thing due to the obligation and difficulty it involves, and this can be viewed from different angles as follows:

A person sees that by acknowledging the truth, it would necessitate that he has acknowledged that he was upon falsehood. (This is) because a person is nurtured upon a religion, creed, school of thought or views, which he acquired from his nurturer and teacher, considers it to be the truth and followed it for a long time. Then when it becomes clear to him that (the religion, creed, view, or school of thought) is false, it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge, just like when his forefathers, ancestors or the one he follows are upon  a path and its falsity is clarified for him, for he sees that their deficiencies necessitate his own deficiencies, and an acknowledgement of their misguidance or errors necessitates his own.

It may be that clinging to falsehood gives him prestige, fame and a livelihood, thus, it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge this falsehood and thus all those benefits (i.e. the fame, prestige, livelihood etc) would disappear.

It may be that a person is upon ignorance or falsehood, then another person comes along and clarifies the proofs for him, thus, he sees that by acknowledging such proofs, it would necessitate that he is lacking (in understanding) and that it was that person who guided him. Due to this, we find that it is not difficult for some of those attributed to knowledge to acknowledge their mistakes when it becomes manifests to them in their researches and studies, but it becomes difficult for them if it was others who clarified such mistakes.

When another person clarifies the truth for him, he sees that by acknowledging such truth it would necessitate an acknowledgement of the clarifier’s virtue, knowledge and correctness due to that clarification, thus, that becomes great in the eyes of the people and many people follow him [i.e. the person who clarified the truth]. So you will find some of those attributed to knowledge being eager to prove the mistakes of other scholars even if that is done by way of falsehood due to envy and seeking to diminish their status amongst the people.

A fierce hidden battle between desires and conscience

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imam Ash-Shawkaanee, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

We often see a man holding a belief that agrees with the truth, but when he speaks to someone who disagrees with him – one who inclines to something of the innovations in religious affairs, not to mention one of the people with leadership and one of those in possession of something of the worldly life, and not to mention one of the kings, he agrees with him, strengthen, supports and aids him against others. The least in such situations is that he would conceal what he believes is the truth, and despises – in presence of a person from whom neither is it possible to receive harm nor benefit from him – what has become clear to him is the right thing; so what about someone from whom harm and benefit is possible?! This – in reality – is from that which is tantamount to giving preference to the worldly things and the present worldly life over the religion and the Hereafter. If he pondered on what has happened to him, he would have known that his inclination to the desires of a man, two men, three or more – amongst those he compliments in that gathering, conceals the truth in order to be in agreement with them and in order to attract their affection, get hold of what they possess and escape from being alienated by them – is a shortcoming in (standing for the) truth and tantamount to exalting falsehood. Were it not that these people are greater in his sight than the Lord, he would not have inclined to their desires and abandon what he knows is that which Allah wants and demands from His servants. [1]

Imam Ash-Shawkaanee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said:

“One of the reasons that leads to the abandonment of fairness and thus distances one from the truth -leads to concealment of truth and not clarifying that which Allah has obligated – is love of high status and wealth. Both these affairs are a greater enemy to a person than two hunting wolves just as Allah’s Messenger described, because indeed that was the reason that led the people of the scripture to distort Allah’s Books and concealed that which came to them of clear proofs and guidance, such as what happened to the Jewish Rabis, and indeed Allah informed us about this in His Mighty Book and the Messenger (also) informed us about it in the authentic narrations”. [2]

Al-Allamah Abdur Rahmaan Bin Yahyah Al-Mu’allimee, may Allah have mercy upon him] stated about giving precedence to the truth:

Ponder on the fact that truth is noble and falsehood is lowly. Ponder on the Greatness of Allah [The Mighty and Majestic]- the fact that Allah is the Lord of the entire universe, Allah loves truth and hates falsehood, and that the one who follows truth is deserving of the Pleasure of the Lord of the universe. Allaah [Glorified be He] will be his protector in the worldly life and the Afterlife by choosing for him everything that is good, better, more beneficial, more perfect, more noble and loftier until Allaah removes his soul whilst being pleased with him. Then Allaah raises him, brings him close and makes him dwell in paradise with honour- in permanent bliss and eternal nobility which no imagination can fully conceive its greatness. He should ponder on the fact that the one who clings to falsehood is deserving of the displeasure, anger and punishment of the Lord of the universe, and if he receives anything of worldly bliss, then indeed that is only a means of humiliating him in order that he is increased in being distanced from Allaah, so that the painful torment of the afterlife is multiplied for him, which no imagination can fully conceive its severity. He should ponder on the bliss of the worldly life [i.e. temporary] as compared to the pleasure of the Lord of the universe and the bliss in the afterlife [i.e. eternal], compare the misery of the worldly life to displeasure of the Lord of the universe and the punishment in the afterlife [i.e. the severest punishment in this life is nowhere equal to punishment in the afterlife]. He should ponder on the statement of Allah [The Mighty and Majestic]:

And they say: “Why is not this Qur’an sent down to some great man of the two towns (Makkah and Ta’if)?” Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of your Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in this world, and We raised some of them above others in ranks, so that some may employ others in their work. But the Mercy (Paradise) of your Lord (O Muhammad) is better than the (wealth of this world) which they amass. And were it not that all mankind would have become of one community (all disbelievers, desiring worldly life only), We would have provided for those who disbelieve in the Most Beneficent (Allah), silver roofs for their houses, and elevators (and stair-ways, etc. of silver) whereby they ascend, and for their houses, doors (of silver), and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, and adornments of gold. Yet all this (i.e. the roofs, doors, stairs, elevators, thrones etc. of their houses) would have been nothing but an enjoyment of this world. And the Hereafter with your Lord is only for the pious”. [Surah Az-Zuhkruf. Verses 31-35] [3]

“Jesus lived and died as a Jew”

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah [The Exalted] said:

فلذلك فادع واستقم كما أمرت ولا تتبع أهواءهم وقل آمنت بما أنزل الله من كتاب وأمرت لأعدل بينكم الله ربنا وربكم لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم لا حجة بيننا وبينكم الله يجمع بيننا وإليه المصير

So unto this (religion of Islam, alone and this Qur’an) then invite (people) (O Muhammad ), and Istaqim [(i.e. stand firm and straight on Islamic Monotheism by performing all that is ordained by Allah (good deeds, etc.), and by abstaining from all that is forbidden by Allah (sins and evil deeds, etc.)], as you are commanded, and follow not their desires but say: “I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book [all the holy Books, this Qur’an and the Books of the old from the Tawrat (Torah), or the Injeel (Gospel) or the Pages of Ibrahim (Abraham)] and I am commanded to do justice among you, Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return. [Ash-Shuraa. 15]

[وَأُمِرۡتُ لِأَعۡدِلَ بَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ – and I am commanded to do justice among you], Meaning, when passing judgement regarding that which you have differed between yourselves. Therefore, your enmity and hatred does not prevent me from judging with justice between you. And part of justice is that when judging between people who make different statements – amongst the people of the Scripture and others – one accepts what they possess of truth and reject what they possess of falsehood.

[ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمۡ‌ۖ لَنَآ أَعۡمَـٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلُڪُمۡ‌ۖ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ ٱللَّهُ يَجۡمَعُ بَيۡنَنَا‌ۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ – Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return].

[لَا حُجَّةَ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ – There is no dispute between us and you] – Meaning, there is no dispute between us and you [i.e. after the realities have been manifested, and after the clear distinction between truth and falsehood, and after the clear distinction between guidance and misguidance, there is no room for debate, because the goal behind debate is to distinguish between right and wrong, so that the one to be guided is guided and the proofs established against the misguided one. [ٱللَّهُ يَجۡمَعُ بَيۡنَنَا‌ۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ – Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return] [An Excerpt from Tafsir As-Sadi]

In the above article, Mr. Amichai Chikli expresses a number of concerns, one of which is that two weeks ago, the pope participated in an event depicting noble Prophet Isa (Jesus – peace be upon him) as a Palestinian Arab. While some of his other complaints, like the assertion that genocide is not occurring in Gaza, is absolutely baseless, we do concur with Mr. Chikli on the point that portraying noble Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, as a Palestinian is baseless. If the Pope’s goal was to portray Isa, peace be upon him, as a Palestinian, we agree with Chikli that this is baseless. However, when Mr Chikli asserts that Jesus, peace be upon him, lived and died as a Jew, there’s a deeper layer to explore in this assertion.

First: It is true that noble Prophet Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him, was of Jewish descent, tracing his lineage back to Prophet Yaqub, peace be upon him. This fact is well-documented, and he was not a Palestinian Arab.

Ibn Al-Athir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Imran Ibn Mathan, who is the grandfather of Jesus, peace be upon him, and the father of Mary, was a descendant of Sulayman, son of Dawud, peace be upon them. The family of Mathan held prominent positions as leaders and scholars among the Children of Israel. [1]

Imam Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

“There is no disagreement that she [meaning Maryam, peace be upon her] is from the lineage of Dawud, peace be upon him, and her father, Imran, was the one who led the prayers of the Children of Israel during his time.” [2]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

“There is no doubt that the people of Musa, peace be upon him, were the Children of Israel, and the Torah was revealed in their language. Likewise, the Children of Israel are the people of Christ, peace be upon him, and he spoke in their tongue. Neither of the two Messengers addressed anyone in any language other than Hebrew; neither spoke in Latin, Syriac, Greek, nor Coptic.” [3]

It is well known among the Christians that Christ spoke exclusively in Hebrew, similar to other prophets of the Israelites. Furthermore, it is noted that He was circumcised on the eighth day, in accordance with the customs of the Israelites, and that He prayed facing their designated direction, rather than towards the east, nor did he instruct others to pray in that direction. [4]

Secondly: If it is said that noble Prophet Isa, peace be upon him, was a Jew because he followed the Torah, We would like to inform the claimants that he arrived as a messenger, affirming the teachings of the Torah and receiving the Injeel along with additional directives to follow. Despite this, many Jews of that era did not believe in him, dismissed his message, and even attempted to end his life, but Allah ensured his protection. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

When Allah, The Exalted, sent Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,, they disbelieved in him, thus their disbelief and misguidance occurred in two ways- substitution of the religion of the first Messenger (i.e. the Messiah) and belied the second Messenger (i.e. Muhammad), just as the Jews substituted the rulings of the Torah before the Messiah was sent and then belied him. The Christians’ denial of Muhammad’s Messengership is a well-known belief of theirs to every Muslim, which is similar to the Jews’ disbelief in the Messiah. The Christians emphasise the disbelief of the Jews greater than what the Jews deserve, because the Jews claimed that the Messiah was a magician and a liar; rather they said that he is an illegitimate child, as Allah informed us about them: [وَقَوۡلِهِمۡ عَلَىٰ مَرۡيَمَ بُہۡتَـٰنًا عَظِيمً۬ا – And their speech against Maryam (Mary)- a grave false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse]. [An-Nisaa. 156]; but the Christians claimed that the Messiah is Allah, therefore the trial between them and the Jews regarding the Messiah involved a lot of contradictions, misguidance at similar levels and confrontation, and this is why both nations rebuked one another with something more than what each of them deserved, just as Allah said:

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing; and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing; though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing. [Al-Baqarah. 113]

Muhammad Bin Abee Muhammad the protege of Zaid Bin Thabit reported from Ikrimah or Saeed Bin Jubayr, who reported from Ibn Abbaas that when the Christian delegation of Najraan came to Allaah’s Messenger, the Rabbis came and argued with them in the presence of the Messenger; so Rabee Bin Hurmilah said, “You are upon nothing” and thus he disbelieved in Isa and all the Injeel. Then a man from the people of Najran said to the Jews, “You are upon nothing”, and thus he willfully denied Musa’s, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, Prophethood and disbelieved in the Torah, thus, Allah revealed: [وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ وَهُمۡ يَتۡلُونَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ‌ۗ -The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing; and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing; though they both recite the Scripture. [Al-Baqarah. 113]

So each of them recited the affirmation of what they reject in their book- meaning, the Jews disbelieved in Isa whilst they had the Torah in which Allah established the evidence against them through Musa that they should believe in Isa and the Injeel, and Isa confirmed Musa’s Messengership and what he came with. So, each one disbelieved in what was in the possession of the other. [Ibn Abee Hatim. 1/339]

[وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ – The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing]: Qatadah said regarding this verse, “Certainly, the early Christians were upon something, but they innovated and split”. [وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ لَيۡسَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىۡءٍ۬ – and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing]: Qatadah said regarding this verse: “Certainly, the early Jews were upon something, but they innovated and split”. The Jews belied the religion of the Christians and said that the Christians were upon nothing; and the Christians denied everything through which the Jews were distinguished from them, even the laws of the Torah which the Messiah did not abrogate; rather he commanded them to act upon it. As for the Jews, they denied many of things through which others were distinguished from them, until they denied the truth brought by Isa.

So, even though the Christians – due to that which they innovated of exaggeration and misguidance – went into extremes in excommunicating the Jews and showed them enmity beyond what is obligated, however there is no doubt that the Jews disbelieved when they belied the Messiah, just as Allah [The Exalted] said to the Messiah [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him]: [إِنِّى مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَىَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ وَجَاعِلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوكَ فَوۡقَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ – I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you [of the forged statement that ‘Isa (Jesus) is Allah’s son] of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allah) superior to those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad, ‘Isa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), etc., or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Tawrat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Qur’an] till the Day of Resurrection. [Aal Imran. 55]

Allah, The Exalted, said:

Isa the son of Maryam said to Al-Hawariun (the disciples): “Who are my helpers (in the Cause) of Allah?” Al-Hawarieen (the disciples) said: “We are Allah’s helpers” (i.e. we will strive in His Cause!). Then a group of the Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We gave power to those who believed against their enemies, and they became the uppermost. [As-Saff. 14]

The disbelief of the Christians – due to their denial of Muhammad’s Messengership and – is greater than the disbelief of the Jews due to their denial of the Messiah’s Messengership, because indeed the Messiah only abrogated a little from the Torah and all the laws and acts of worship ordained for him could be traced back to the Torah; however the majority of the beliefs and practices of the Christians were innovated after the departure of the Messiah. That which is found in the Jews’ denial of the Messiah by opposing Allah’s Shariah is not the same as the Christians’ denial of Muhammad, who brought an independent book from Allah, because nothing in the laws of the Qur’an was ordained based on the law of another Messenger. Allah [The Exalted] said: [أَوَلَمۡ يَكۡفِهِمۡ أَنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبَ يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَرَحۡمَةً۬ وَذِڪۡرَىٰ لِقَوۡمٍ۬ يُؤۡمِنُونَ – Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur’an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe]. [Al-Ankabut. 51]

The Qur’an is an independent book like the Torah of Musa, even though the Qur’an is greater than it. And this is why the Christian scholars made a connection between Musa and Muhammad, just as when An-Najaashee [may Allaah have mercy upon him]- the Ethiopian king of the Christians- heard the Qur’an, he said, “Indeed, this and what Musa brought came from the same source”. Also, when Waqarah bin Nawfil, may Allah have mercy upon him, – who was one of Christian Arab scholars- heard the statement of the Prophet, he said, “Indeed, the Naamoos [i.e. Jibreel] who came to you was sent to Musa. I wish that I were young till when your people expel you”. Allaah’s Messenger asked, “Will these people drive me out?” Waraqah said, “Yes, because nobody brought the like of what you have brought, but was treated with hostility. If I were to remain alive till your day (when you start calling to Islam), then I would support you strongly”. [Bukhari]

And this is why Allah mentioned the Torah and the Qur’an together in His statement:

But when the truth (i.e. Muhammad with his Message) has come to them from Us, they say: “Why is he not given the like of what was given to Musa (Moses)? Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Musa (Moses) of old? They say: “Two kinds of magic [the Tawrat (Torah) and the Qur’an] each helping the other!” And they say: “Verily! In both we are disbelievers.” Say (to them, O Muhammad): “Then bring a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than these two [the Taurat (Torah) and the Qur’an], that I may follow it, if you are truthful.” [Al-Qasas. 48-49]

Allah did not revealed books that were a better guide than the Tawraat and the Qur’an. Then Allah said:

But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allah? Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allah, and polytheists). [Al-Qasas. 50] [5]

[20] The Ascent and Decline of The Ottoman Empire

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Sultan Muhamamad Khan

He was born in the year 974 AH and ascended to the throne twelve days after his father’s death in 1003 AH, as he was residing in Maghnis. His mother, of Italian descent, was called Safiyyah. Despite the state of weakness and decline that had begun to afflict the Ottoman Empire, the banner of jihad against the Crusaders remained raised. It is noteworthy that this Sultan, upon realising that the empire’s struggles in warfare were due to the absence of the sultans leading the armies personally, he took it upon himself to take command. He assumed the position left vacant by Salim II and Murad III, which was the command of the entire army. He advanced towards Belgrade and then to the battlefields of jihad. Upon his departure, a fervent religious zeal and military pride surged within the troops. He successfully captured the fortified castle of Arlo, which Sultan Sulayman had failed to conquer in 1556. Additionally, he defeated the armies of Hungary and Austria in the Kereszt plain near this castle on October 26, 1596, an event that drew comparisons to the Battle of Mohács, where Sultan Sulayman triumphed in 1526. Following this battle, conflicts persisted without a decisive engagement.

During his reign, the state experienced violent internal revolts led by Qara Yaziji, as well as uprisings initiated by the cavalry. However, the sultan managed to suppress both challenges, albeit with great difficulty. These internal events reveal to the discerning researcher a significant disruption in the military system and its inadequacy in safeguarding the state’s name and honor from its adversaries. Shaikh Saad al-Din Effendi, one of the scholars of Sultan Muhammad III and among those who encouraged him to personally lead the armies, said to him, “I will accompany you until I cleanse my existence of sins, so I shall march forth.” In one of the battles, the Sultan was on the verge of being captured, as his soldiers and aides fled around him. Shaikh Saad urged, “Stand firm, O King; for you are destined to triumph with the assistance of your Lord, who has granted you blessings and favours.” The Sultan mounted his horse, drew his sword, and earnestly prayed to the Almighty. Within an hour, the victory of the One, the All-Powerful, descended upon him. This battle occurred after the conquest of the fortress of Akra.

He had a high level of education and literature, and inclined towards Tasawwuf. [Refer to Footnote a] He passed away after enduring numerous rebellious movements and violent uprisings, leading his armies personally. His death occurred on Sunday, the eighteenth of Rajab in the year 1012, marking the end of his reign which lasted nine years, two months, and two days. He was thirty-eight years old at the time of his passing. [Ad-Dawlah al-Uthaniyyah Awamil An-Nuhud Wa Asbab As-Suqut 6/327-329]
