The Greatest Type of At-Tawakkul -Reliance upon Allaah- by Imaam Ibnul Qayyim

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

The greatest type of reliance upon Allaah is: Reliance upon Allaah in (seeking) guidance; establishing Tawheed; adhering to the path of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and striving against the people of falsehood. This is the Tawukkul of the Messengers and particularly that of their (true) followers.

A man asked Al-Hasan: To whom should I give my daughter in marriage?

A man said to Al-Hasan [Al-Basri (rahimahullaah)]: I have a daughter and she has been sought for marriage, so to whom should I give her in marriage? He (Al-Hasan) said: Marry her to the one who fears Allaah, for he will be kind to her if he loves her and he will not oppress her when he is angry with her.

They deviated, so Allaah deviated their hearts!

Mus’ab Ibn Sad (rahimahullaah) reports that the affair of the khawaarij was mentioned in the presence of his father, so he (i.e. his father) said: They are a deviated people, so Allaah deviated their hearts.’’ [Source: ‘As-Sunnah’ of Abdullah Ibn (Imaam) Ahmad 2/638]

It is incumbent upon a sensible person to make preparations….by Imaam Ibnul Jawzi

Ibnul Jawzee (rahimahullaah) said:

It is incumbent upon a sensible person that he makes preparations for his departure (from this world), for indeed he neither knows when the command of his Lord will descend nor when he will be called back. Indeed, I see many people deceived by youthfulness, forgetful of the loss of companions and infatuated with prolonged expectations.

And it may be that a scholar who is solely interested in himself would say: ‘’I will seek knowledge today and act upon it tomorrow.’’ So he becomes lackadaisical with regards to committing mistakes due to comfort and is withheld by the hope that he will accomplish repentance. He neither keeps away from backbiting nor keeps away from listening to it. And he forgets that death will descend unexpectedly.

Therefore, the sensible person gives every moment its due right with regards to what is obligated on him, so that when death suddenly arrives he is considered prepared. And if the (things) hoped for are received, then this is increased goodness. [Abridged: Source: Saydul Khaatir: page18]

Ahlus Sunnah Rejoiced When a Staunch and Wicked Supporter of The Rawaafid Passed Away- By Imaam Ibn Katheer [rahimahullaah]

Imaam Ibn Katheer (rahimahullaah) said:

Al-Hasan Ibn Saafee Ibn Bazdan At-Turki was from the senior rulers of Baghdad, who ruled in the Islamic. But he was a Raafidi, a wicked one and bigoted supporter of the Rawaafid. They [i.e. the Rawaafid] and honoured by him until Allaah relieved the Muslims of him in that year [i.e. the year 568AH] in the month of Dhul Hijjah. He was buried in his house, but moved to Quraish’s graveyard thereafter. All praise and bounty belongs to Allaah. When he died, Ahlus Sunnah were very happy and they openly thanked Allaah. You did not find any of them except that he praised Allaah. [Al-Bidaayatu Wan-Nihaayatu 12/338]

Rejoicing when the wicked figureheads of bidah are afflicted!

Al-Khallaal (rahimahullaah) said: It was said to Abu Abdillaah [i.e. Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah)]: Has a man sinned for rejoicing due to what afflicts the companions of Ibn Abee Du’aad? He said, ‘’Who would not rejoice with this?’’ [As-Sunnah 5/121]

Who was Ibn Abee Du’aad?

Ibn Abee Du’aad and Bishr al-Mireesee: These are the two that encouraged the ruler, Al-Ma’moon, to inflict punishment upon Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) and upon others from the Scholars so as to extract from them the saying that the Qur’aan is created. Thanking Allaah [The Most High] when we are relieved of the Fitnah of the wicked heads of bidah

Salamah Bin Shubaib (rahimahullaah) said, ‘’I was once with Abdur-Razzaaq As-San’aanee (rahimahullaah), then (news) of the death of Abdul Majeed reached us; so he said, ‘’All praise is due to Allaah, who relieved the Ummah of Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-sallam] of Abdul Majeed Ibn Abdil Azeez . [siyar a’laam an-nubulaa 9/435]

This Abdul Majeed Ibn Abdil Azeez Ibn Abee Ruwaad was a figurehead of Ir’jaa.

The Messenger commanded his Ummah to distinguish the Du’afaa from the Thiqaat

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said:

فإنه من يعش منكم فسيرى اختلافا، فعليكم بسنتي

‘’Indeed the one who lives long amongst you will see differences; so upon you is to (adhere) to my Sunnah.’’

Imaam Abu Haatim (rahimahullaah) said: This is clear evidence that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-sallam) commanded his Ummah to know the Du’afaa amongst them and (distinguish) them from the Thiqaat. That is because the Sunnah cannot be adhered to alongside the lies and falsehood mixed with it, except by way of knowing the Du’afaa and (distinguishing them) from the Thiqaat.

[2002]-A Testimony To Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah’s Leniency and Goodwill Towards Fatwa-online/Madeenah.com for The Sake of Brotherhood

Aboo Zakee (Troid) wrote on Salafitalk.net in 2002

As salaamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullaah,

When fatwa-online first came on the scene (around 2000), salafipublications.com, troid.org (and others) were amongst the most vigorous in promoting the fatwa-online site, the initiative to develop a fatwa based website for the Muslims was something well-received, emails and announcements were regularly forwarded on the TROID and SP mailing lists and there was evidently clear cooperation with this da’wah effort on the part of SP and TROID. In fact, one might say that these two websites (that preceded Fatwa Online) helped to popularise the fatwa website and showed complete cooperation with this effort at its onset and the praise is for Allaah.

In terms of who/how fatwa-online aligns itself with, I remember a situation many years ago. Around the year 2000 we found one of our articles on their website, we kindly requested that it be referenced to www.troid.org and that it be left intact and. We received a response from the admin of Fatwa Online who mentioned that he didn’t want to ref. troid.org as it may hinder their efforts in reaching a broader audience (since troid.org was/is a site, wal-hamdulillaah that openly discusses the issue of salafiyyah and the term salafee was problematic in this wide-ranged approach).  As much as we respected his effort, we wished to insist upon the referencing/terminology being left intact but before being insistant, we sought the intercession of our brother, Abu Khadeejah, lecturer at Masjid as-Salafi – Birmingham. So he advised us with a sound advice towards cooperation and good ties, he said:

“For the sake of the da’wah, let the issue go (release your insistence, even though you don’t agree), wallaahi, the brother (Fatwa Online admin.) is a beautiful brother, you would love him if you met him.”

So we benefited from this advice by understanding

– Despite disagreeing, the concern from our brother Abu Khadeejah was to maintain good ties (with fatwa online), good cooperation and he sought to mend ties, first and foremost
– That one doesn’t always have to hold his position; he may let it go for the overall good (even if he doesn’t agree)

– That even though troid.org and salafipublications.com were diligent in referencing fatwa online, promoting their content, adding links to their sites etc. and the cooperation wasn’t reciprocated, there was still nothing but respect for the work of the brother (at Fatwa Online) and overall good thoughts

So this is the manner in which we found those at Maktabah Salafiyyah for Fatwa-Online and we accepted this advice and let the issue go. Despite not wanting to ref/affiliate troid.org, as the years passed, the open referencing and affiliation of Green Lane Masjid increased (amongst others) and I think this is an important point, as time was taken to promote the da’wah of those hosting the likes of Yaasir Qadhee and Abu Usaamah (and one can check the threads on Green Lane for a large listing of problems) to the exclusion of Masjid as-Salafi and many of the du’aat in the UK known for their Salafiyyah. In fact if one were to search the yahoogroup for fatwa online, one would find 26 emails referencing green lane and 1 referencing salafipublications, both organisations are in the same city, one known for salafiyyah, the other known for hizbiyyah,  so there is no doubt as to where their allegiances lie.

Years later, I finally met with an individual involved with fatwa online. In having discussions with him we found that the conversations often and quickly turned to the issues of Abu Khadeejah, Maktabah Salafiyyah and focusing negatively on their efforts, efforts which we see as the most consistent and most clear in spreading the salafee da’wah and connecting the people to their Scholars in the West dating back more than 15  years!

In one instance, I had breakfast with one of the representatives of fatwa online in which it was the first time we met, the conversation turned quickly  to speaking about Abu Khadeejah this and Abu Khadeejah that…and when we had barely met! I just remembered years early, how Abu khadeejah how spoken so well of the same individual, protecting his honour and encouraging us with cooperation and good thoughts wallaahul musta’aan.

So we respected our brothers and their efforts in giving da’wah, we gave them our attention and listened to what they had to say and we did not find except that their contention (with Maktabah Salafiyyah) seemed personal and misplaced and that is was a debacle that they would support and promote Green Lane Masjid and speak against Masjid as-Salafi. Lastly, there should be no doubt in anyoneýs mind that Maktabah Salafiyyah (and TROID for that matter) sought to cooperate with Fatwa Online for many years, turning a blind eye to much, until it became something no longer possible due to the allegiances they (Fatwa Online) attached themselves too.  We ask Allaah for safety, ameen.
