The people of knowledge (i.e. the scholars) are of the view that it is obligated on the Muslims in every era that if they are certain about the presence of this filthy doctrine (i.e. the doctrine of the khawaarij), they should remedy it through calling to Allaah (i.e. the correct way) and enlighten the people about that. If they (i.e. khawaarij) do not obey (and come out fighting), then they are fought (by the Muslim ruler) in order to repel their harm.
Verily, We sent (Messengers) to many nations before you (O Muhammad). And We seized them with extreme poverty (or loss in wealth) and loss in health with calamities so that they might believe with humility.
When Our Torment reached them, why then did they not believe with humility? But their hearts became hardened, and Shaitan (Satan) made fair-seeming to them that which they used to do.
So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them to punishment, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.
So the roots of the people who did wrong were cut off. And all the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). [6: 42-45]
”And We inspired the mother of Musa (Moses), (saying): “Suckle him [Musa (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily! We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers. Then the household of Fir’aun (Pharaoh) picked him up, that he might become for them an enemy and a (cause of) grief. Verily! Fir’aun (Pharaoh), Haman and their hosts were sinners.” [28:7-8]
Meaning: The end result and final outcome after they adopted Moosa is that he will be an enemy of theirs and a cause of grief (for) them. That is because what they feared [i.e. that they were to be destroyed at the hands of a man from Bani israa’eel] did not benefit them becaused Allaah already decreed it. And that the one they feared amongst Bani Israa’eel (i.e. Moosaa) had been destined to be a leader of theirs, who was to be nurtured by them, under their eyes and guardianship.
[إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا ڪَانُواْ خَـٰطِـِٔين -Verily! Fir’aun (Pharaoh), Haman and their hosts were sinners]; so We wished to punish them for their sins and planned for them a recompense for their (evil) plots and plans.

[Abridged and slightly paraphrased…For further details, see Tayseer Al-Kareem Ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam al-Mannaan]
”Ta-Sin-Mim; These are Verses of the manifest Book” for every affair needed by the slaves (of Allaah), such as knowledge of their Lord, knowledge of His Rights, knowledge of who His allies and enemies are; knowledge of His doings and annals; knowledge of the recompense for deeds and recompense for the performers of deeds. So this Qur’aan has indeed clarified all these affairs with the greatest clarification, and it made them explicit for the slaves (of Allaah) and it made them clear. [Tayseer Al-Kareem Ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam Al-Mannaan’ by Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)]
”Consider not that Allah is unaware of that which the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror. (They will be) hastening forward with necks outstretched, their heads raised up (towards the sky), their gaze returning not towards them and their hearts empty (from thinking because of extreme fear).” [14:42-43]
Have you not seen those who have changed the Blessings of Allah into disbelief [i.e. the disbelievers of Quraish who denied the message of Prophet Muhammad (1)], and caused their people to dwell in the house of destruction? Hell, in which they will burn, – and what an evil place to settle in! And they set up rivals to Allah, to mislead (men) from His Path! Say: “Enjoy (your brief life)! But certainly, your destination is the (Hell) Fire!” [14:28-30]
