Our Salaf: Sahl Bin Abdillaah At-Tustaree

Sahl Bin Abdillaah A-Tustaree (rahimahullaah) said:

Abandonment of a command is greater in the sight of Allaah than violating a prohibition; because Aadam was prohibited from eating from the tree and he ate from it, and Allaah forgave him.  Iblees was commanded to prostrate to Aadam and he did not prostrate, and Allaah did not forgive him. [Madaarij As-Saalikeen: 2/156]

Our Salaf: I don’t want to see the humilaition on your face!

Muttarrif Bin Abdillaah (rahimahullaah) said to one of his brothers:

”O Father of such and such! If you have a need, then do not speak to me; rather write it down on a piece of paper because I fear seeing the humiliation of asking on your face.” [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 4/194]

He (rahimahullaah) also said: To be thankful to Allaah whilst I am in a state of welbeing is more beloved to me than excercising patience when put to trial” [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 4/195]

[4]Our Salaf–Their stance towards Ahlul-Bidah

Imaam Al-Awzaa’ee (rahimahullaah) said:

”It is obligated on you is to follow the narrations of those who have preceeded [i.e. the pious predecessors] even if the people reject you. And beware of the opinions of men even if they beautify it with their speech”. [Reported by Imaam Dhahabee in Al-Uluww: page:138]

[2]Our Salaf–Their Stance Towards Ahlul Bidah

Sallaam Ibn Abee Mutee (rahimahullaah) said:

”A man from the people of desires said to Ayyoub As-Sakhtiyaanee: ”O Abaa-Bakr, I want to ask you about some statement”, so Ayyoub walked away and started gesturing with his finger, saying: ”Not even half a statement.” [Reported by Imaam Al-Aajuree in Ash-Sharee-ah 1/440]

I am a woman with hair on hands…….

Question:

I am a woman with hair on my two hands and some on my face, and I am unable to remove all of it; so I colour it with a colour that is of the same colour of (my) skin; is this impermissible?

Answer:

There is no harm in this. It is neither impermissible nor something (one) is withheld from. The likes of these affairs do not cause (something blameworthy). It is permissible regardless whether you colour it with what matches the colour of skin.
