Shaikh-ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah on the Rulers
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:
Indeed it has been stated: ”Ninety-nine years with an oppressive ruler is better than a single night without a ruler.”

Sahl Bin Abdillaah A-Tustaree (rahimahullaah) said:
Abandonment of a command is greater in the sight of Allaah than violating a prohibition; because Aadam was prohibited from eating from the tree and he ate from it, and Allaah forgave him. Iblees was commanded to prostrate to Aadam and he did not prostrate, and Allaah did not forgive him. [Madaarij As-Saalikeen: 2/156]

Al-Waleed Ibn Yazeed (rahimahullaah) said:

Muttarrif Bin Abdillaah (rahimahullaah) said to one of his brothers:
”O Father of such and such! If you have a need, then do not speak to me; rather write it down on a piece of paper because I fear seeing the humiliation of asking on your face.” [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 4/194]
He (rahimahullaah) also said: To be thankful to Allaah whilst I am in a state of welbeing is more beloved to me than excercising patience when put to trial” [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 4/195]

Imaam Al-Awzaa’ee (rahimahullaah) said:

Question:
I am a woman with hair on my two hands and some on my face, and I am unable to remove all of it; so I colour it with a colour that is of the same colour of (my) skin; is this impermissible?
Answer:
There is no harm in this. It is neither impermissible nor something (one) is withheld from. The likes of these affairs do not cause (something blameworthy). It is permissible regardless whether you colour it with what matches the colour of skin.
