Those Who Forsake Ahlus Sunnah in Times of Trial, Hardship and Need–[Ahlul-Khadhlaan]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Ibn Manzoor mentions in Lisaanul-‘Arab: [والتَّخْذيل:حَمْلُ الرجل على خِذْلان صاحبه وتَثْبِيطُه عن نصْرته]:  At-Takhdheel is when a man betakes to forsaking and abandoning his comrade [friend] and holds back from helping and aiding him.

[ الخاذِلُ: ضد الناصر- Al- Khaadhil is the opposite of an-Naasir (the helper, one who aides you, supports and backs you up)]. So Al-Khadhlaan is when someone forsakes and abandons someone or something.  So Ahlul- khadhlaan are those people who forsake and abandon the truth and its people when they need them.   [So basically they are yellow bellied turncoats who run away from and leave the people of truth when they most need them]!!!  If you look at the verbal noun Takhdeel means: To incite or induce someone from abstaining from, or neglect in aiding, assisting the truth or its people; and also it means to hinder, withhold or prevent from aiding, assisting his companion.

If Allaah helps you, none can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, who is there after Him that can help you? And in Allaah (Alone) let the believers put their trust. (Surah Aali Imran 3:160)

“Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Qur’aan) after it had come to me. And Shaitaan (Satan) is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need.” (Surah Al-Furqan 25:28-29)

Can We Say “A Particular Dead Person Has Been Forgiven” or “Granted Mercy” – Permanent Committee Of Scholars

Question: Is it permissible for a person to say about a dead person, “Fulaan [i.e. such and such] is Marhoom [i.e. he has been forgiven or bestowed with mercy] or my father is Marhoom [i.e. he has been forgiven or bestowed with mercy]?”

Answer: The statement Al-Marhoom [i.e. the one forgiven or bestowed with mercy] is not permissible to be uttered about a dead person, rather it is to be said: ‘’Rahimahullaah [may Allaah have mercy upon him]- because the first statement [i.e. al-Marhoom] is information given by the speaker whilst he is not aware of the true state of affairs [of the dead person], rather Allaah is the [only] One who knows about it.

Khawaarij- [Terrorists]- Misguided and Misguiding Others Due to Distancing Themselves From Ulamaa…by Shaikh Fawzaan

Shaikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said:

The khawaarij were not misguided and misguiding others with their intellects and fear of Allaah, except that they disassociated themselves from the scholars and depended on their own understanding and that of those similar to them. They took instructions from one another, and thus they caused harm to themselves and to the Ummah. This is the result of disassociating from the scholars.

The Ulama Are Agreed Upon the Fact that the khawaarij Are An Evil People…..By Imaam Al-Aajurree

Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said:

By Allaah the Ummah will not exit from its problems, the humiliation and degradation they are living in, except by way of returning to the Book of Allaah, the Sunnah of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallaam] and the understanding of the Salafus Saalih in [dealing with] the affairs of the khawaarij and others. Imaam Al-Aajurree [rahimahullaah] said: “The scholars do not differ–past and present–that the khawaarij are an evil people, disobedient to Allaah and His Messenger, even if they [perform] the prayer, fast and strive in [carrying out] acts of worship.

If Ibnul Mubaarak [rahimahullaah] Was to Appear Amongst Us…. by Shaikh Jamaal Bin Fareehaan Al-Haarithi

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Ali Ibn Shaqeeq [rahimahullaah] said: I heard Abdullaah Ibnul Mubaarak  [rahimahullaah] saying in the midst of the people: ”Leave the narrations of the Amr Bin Thaabit because he used to revile the Salaf [i.e. the pious predecessors]”. [Muslim 1/16]

How about if Ibnul Mubaarak [rahimahullaah] was to appear amongst us [today]! What would he say about those who speak ill of the companions of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], such as the likes of Mawdoodi, Sayyid Qutb, Taariq Suwaydaan, Hasan bin Farhaan al-Maaliki, Abul Hasan al-Maribi al-Misri and those who defend these people or keep silent about them!

A Statement of Imaam Abu Haatim to Reflect Upon- [Food For Thought for Hizbiyyoon- the Obstinate Followers of Mubtadi’ah- and the Mumayyi’oon]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Narrated Sa’id bin Al-Musaiyab: ‘Umar came to the mosque while Hassaan was reciting a poem. (‘Umar disapproved of that). On that Hassaan said, “I used to recite poetry in this very mosque in the presence of one (i.e. the Prophet ) who was better than you.” Then he turned towards Abu Hurairah and said (to him), “I ask you by Allah, did you hear Allah’s Messenger saying (to me), ‘Retort on my behalf. O Allah! Support him (i.e., Hassaan) with the Ruh Al-Qudus [i.e. Jibril (Gabrael)]?” Abu Hurairah said, “Yes.” [Bukhaari 4/3212]

Imaam Abu Haatim [rahimahullaah] said: There is evidence in this narration similar to the command to disparage the du’afaa [weak narrators]. That is because the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said to Hassaan [radiyallaahu-anhu], ‘’Retort on my behalf.’’ He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] commanded [Hassaan (radiyallaahu-anhu)] to defend him against the lies that the idol worshippers uttered about him. And when it is the case that the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] commanded [Hassaan] to defend him against the lies of the idol worshippers, even though neither did their lies harm the Muslims nor make what is Haraam to be Halaal and vice versa; then it is more appropriate that he [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] is defended against those Muslims who lie about him [sallal-laahu-alahu-wasallam] through their [weak, fabricated] narrations and thus declare Haraam as Halaal and vice versa. Trials Distinguish The Truthful Ones From The Liars- By Shaikh Fawzaan

Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan stated, “Clear distinction is not attained except when trials and tribulations occur, the true believers are then firm and steadfast while the deceptive hypocrites stumble.”

Sharh Kitaabul Kabaa’ir 554-555

Shaykh Fawzaan (Allah preserve him) explains trials and tribulations further in his explanation of the famous hadeeth of Hudhayfah ibnul Yamaan (Allah be pleased with him) read below.

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Indeed Allaah pre-decreed and ordained that the creation will be visited by tribulations, trails and tests, in order that the truthful one is distinguished from the hypocrite. He (The Most High) said:

الم

أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَنْ يُتْرَكُوا أَنْ يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ

“Alif-Laam-Meem. Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: ‘’We believe,’’ and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allaah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood) of those who are liars, (although Allaah knows all that before putting them to test)’’ 29:1-3

Fitnah is a test. The human being will not be left alone because he says: I believe, I submit, I am a Muslim, I am a believer….he must be tried and tested. If he exercises patience and firmly holds onto his Eemaan at the (time) of tribulations, then indeed he is the one truthful to his Eemaan. If he deviates at the (time) of tribulations and turns away from his Religion, then this one is not truthful to his Eemaan.  He is a hypocrite (i.e. he testifies to Imaan with his tongue and hides disbelief in his heart), as Allaah (The Most High) said:

‘’And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: “We believe in Allaah and the Last Day” while in fact they believe not. They (think to) deceive Allaah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not! In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allaah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies’’. 2:8-10

This is the Sunnah (Way) of Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic).  He (The Mighty and Majestic) said:

‘’Allaah will not leave the believers in the state in which you are now, until He distinguishes the wicked from the good. Nor will Allaah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghaib (unseen), but Allaah chooses of His Messengers whom He pleases. So believe in Allaah and His Messengers. And if you believe and fear Allaah, then for you there is a great reward’’. 3:179

Allaah causes trials and tests to occur upon the people- upon the Muslims and the believers- in order to distinguish the truthful one from the liar, the true believer from the hypocritical liar, and the good one from the wicked one. This is from the Wisdom of Allaah (Glorified and Exalted Be He).  Fitan (trials) will come to pass upon the people as a result of this Wisdom (of Allaah).  If trials do not occur, then truth will be confounded with falsehood–the believer will be confused for the hypocrite, and there will not be a distinction between this one and that one.

The Shaikh also said:

A person is neither to lose hope nor despair, (and) he is not to make the people lose hope of a return to goodness. He should not make the people lose hope with regards to (the fact) that truth will prevail and falsehood will be repelled; because Allaah (Glorified and Exalted Be He) has made that promise and He does not fail to fulfill His promise. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: ‘’The Religion is aided when put to the test; therefore do not be amazed for this is the way of Ar-Rahmaan (The Most Merciful).’’ Allaah said:

‘’And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allaah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allaah likes not the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers). And that Allaah may test (or purify) the believers (from sins) and destroy the disbelievers’’ 3:140-141

This is the wisdom behind the occurrence of trials and tribulations–so that the believers are purified, and so that they are made to exercise patience, firm upon the truth and cautioned for their mistakes, and in order that they may repent to Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) and (so that) the kuffaar are destroyed. Therefore, (trials and tribulations) is purification for the believers and destruction for the kuffaar and all praise be to Allaah. It is obligated on the Muslim that he looks at (the affairs) with optimism–he neither looks at history and the state of affairs with pessimism and hopelessness nor make the people lose hope. It has been reported in a hadeeth: ‘’whoever says: the people are ruined, then he himself is ruined’’(Muslim) Therefore, the person neither loses hope in Allaah’s Mercy nor does he make people lose hope of solace from Allaah.  [Source: Booklet published by Daar Imaam Ahmad 1426/2005. Can we Read the Books of and Sit with Ahlul Bid’ah? Shaykh Rabee Answers

Al- Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali (may Allaah preserve him) stated:

We have seen many who know, but then they fell into misguidance…. The full translation with audio is available here:
