In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Manhaj principles remain intact, whilst Abu Makkah’s companion – [Muhammad Abdur Razzaaq] was rebuked by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah for calling to Musaafiqah (Ghuluww) and now recommending gatherings of Mumayyi’ah (Greenlane)

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khalee [may Allah preserve him] said:

When you embark upon the path in pursuit of knowledge- seeking understanding and acting upon it, this is one of the signs that Allah wishes good for you. Therefore, receive glad tidings, have good thoughts about Allah, and be sincere to Allah [The Blessed and Exalted] in your statements, deeds, and knowledge. Neither be deceived – we seek Allah’s Refuge from self-deception – nor feel safe from Allah’s plan. [فَلَا يَأۡمَنُ مَڪۡرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرُونَ – None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers]. [ Surah Al-A’raaf. Ayah 99]

A believer always fears that his situation will change. It has been reported from Aa’isha and Anas [may Allah pleased with them] that the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] often (supplicated):

“يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِى عَلَى دِينِكَ – O turner of the hearts (Allah)! Keep my heart firm upon your religion”. I (i.e. Aa’isha or Anas) asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! We believe in you and what has been revealed to you, so do you fear for us?” He said, “Yes, indeed the hearts are between two fingers among the fingers of Allah and He turns them how He pleases”. By Allah! This is understanding that a person does not feel safe about himself because Satan flows through the human being like blood. (a) Therefore, a person should guard his heart, intellect, and deeds ardently more than he guards his wealth and honour. Whoever is given authority to look after his affairs is obligated to guard his heart before everything else. Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower]. [ Surah Al Imraan’ Ayah 8] [1]

I warn my brothers against the Fitan (trials, temptations) and that they turn to Allah (for help) to keep them steadfast in the Religion. They should supplicate a lot [just as Allah taught the believers that they say]:

[رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ – Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower]. [Surah Al Imraan’ Ayah 8]

They should make this tremendous supplication often and the supplication which Allah’s Messenger used to make often. Anas said that Allah’s Messenger used to say a lot, “O Turner of the hearts! Keep my heart firm upon your religion”. So the companions said, “O Allah’s Messenger! Do you fear for us?” He said, “Yes, indeed the hearts are between two fingers from the fingers of Allah, and He turns them however He wills”. Therefore, the believer does not feel secure from Allah’s plan. [فَلَا يَأۡمَنُ مَڪۡرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرُونَ – None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers]. [Surah Al-A’raaf, Ayah 99][2]

Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allah preserve him] was asked about Muhammad Abdur Razzaaq [may Allah guide him]:

Shaikh Abu Khadeejah replied:

Muhammad first fell into the Fitna of the Musaafiqah – extremism, [Footnote a] and now he is calling to the gatherings organised by the blazing hizbiyyoon of Greenlane. [Footnote b] Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: “The basis, origin of all theoretical knowledge and every wilfully chosen action are the thoughts (khawaatir) and ideas (afkaar). For they necessitate conceptions (visualisations, imaginations) [in the minds], and these conceptions invite towards iraadaat (i.e. the desires, will, intent for something), and these iraadaat require the occurrence of the action. And the frequent repetition of the occurrence of this action then leads to a habit. Hence, the rectitude of all of these steps lies in the rectitude of the (initial) thoughts and ideas, and the corruption (of all these steps) lies in them also…” [3]

When Shaikh Abu Khadeejah warned against Muhammad’s path, his companion Abu Makkah went into a frenzy, however, look at his present state of affairs while he calls to the gatherings of the Mumayyi’ah of Greenlane?!

Being older than others in our communities does not, in and of itself, make us one of “The Elders”

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Sahl Bin Abu Hathma and Rafi’ Bin Khadij reported that Abdullah Bin Sahl Bin Zaid and Muhayyisa Bin Mas’ud Bin Zaid went out and as they reached Khaibar they were separated. Then Muhayyisa found Abdullah Bin Sahl having been killed. He buried him and then came to Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him].

They were Huwayyisa Bin Mas’ud and ‘Abdur Rahman Bin Sahl, and he (the latter one) was the youngest of the people (those three who had come to seek an interview with the Prophet) began to talk before his Companions (had spoken). Thereupon Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “The eldest one (in age should speak)”. So, he kept quiet, and his companions (Muhayyisa and Huwayyisa) began to speak, and he (Abdur-Rahmaan) spoke along with them and they narrated to Allah’s Messenger the murder of Abdullah Bin Sahl. Thereupon he said to them, “Are you prepared to take fifty oaths so that you may be entitled (to blood-wit) of your companion (or your man who has murdered)?” They said, “How can we take an oath on a matter which we have not witnessed?” He (the Prophet) said, “Then the Jews will exonerate themselves by fifty oaths”. They said, “How can we accept the oaths of people who are unbelievers?” When Allah’s Messenger saw that, he paid his blood-wit. [Sahih Muslim 1669]

After three Ahaadeeth were quoted – including the above one regarding the murder of Abdullah Bin Sahl, Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allah have mercy upon him] stated, “These three Ahaadeeth are the same as those before them in clarification of giving precedence to people of virtue, knowledge, and those of old age over those younger than them, giving concern to the affair by placing them in their deserved position in which Allah has placed them, as has preceded in the statement of the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], “The one who is well grounded in Allah’s Book and is distinguished among them in recitation should act as Imam for the people, and if they are equally versed in reciting it, then the one who has most knowledge regarding Sunnah; if they are equal regarding the Sunnah, then the earliest one to emigrate; If they emigrated at the same time, then the oldest one in age. No man must lead another in prayer in the latter’s house or where (the latter) has authority, or sit in his place of honour in his house, except that he permits you or with his permission”. [1]

Imam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “The apparent context of the hadith is that the three came to Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] to relate the news, so Muhayyisa wanted to speak because he was the one who had the story and knew about it, and Abdur Rahman Bin Sahl did not speak because he was not present, or because he was the youngest of the people, or because the intent was to mention the case without making a claim; otherwise who would have had more right to speak? It would have been Abdur Rahman Bin Sahl, Abdullah’s brother because he is his heir. Muhayyisa and Huwayyisa are cousins of the murdered, but why did Muhayyisa want to speak even though he was lesser than a brother in relationship? That is because he had the story and knew about it. And why did Abdur Rahmaan not speak? It was either because of his young age or because he was sufficed with the statement of Muhayyisa due to him being the witness of the incident or because the intent was to mention the case and not the claim, otherwise if the intent was the claim, then Abdur Rahmaan Bin Sahl would have been the most entitled to speak, then Huwayyisa and then Muhayyisa”. [2]

First, what we want to emphasise here is that, in terms of age comparison, being older than someone else does not automatically make us one of the “elders” in your community. While one may be older and perhaps more experienced than those around him in some important matters, that does not automatically make him one of “The Elders of a Community” because that comes with other specific matters. As for the behaviour expected from a Muslim towards others, Al-Allaamah Rabee bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allah preserve him] said, “The student of knowledge should respect the elders, honour his contemporaries and shows mercy to those below his age”. [3] In essence, “the elders of communities ” are people who have reached the age of 50 and above, both inside and outside of the community. Here, we don’t mean elders in terms of knowledge; rather, we mean elders in terms of age and they are the ones we refer to as Shaikh in age. “Shaikh is the one whose age has become manifest and gray hair has appeared. It was said, ‘he is a Shaikh (when one reaches) 50 until the end of his life’, and it said, ‘he (is a person who has reached) 51 until the end of his life’. It was said, ‘It is from 50 to 80′”. [4] Also, the term can be used to refer to a righteous man, as Abdur Rahmaan Bin Abee Haatim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: I heard my father saying, “Hajjaaj Bin Firaasatah is a righteous Shaikh – one devoted to worship”. [5]

Second, as for when the term is used to refer to a person of knowledge, Raaghib Al-Isfahaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “It is said about the one who is aged ‘The Shaikh’. And it may be used among us regarding someone who has a lot of knowledge because one of the affairs related to a Shaikh is that he has a lot of experience and knowledge”. [6] However, someone who is under 50 may be called a “Shaikh” because of their understanding of the Shariah. Many of us are well aware of the fact that Shaikh Abdus Salaam Burgess [may Allah have mercy upon him] was a Shaikh even before he turned 40. Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allah preserve him] and other elder students of knowledge can give you an insight into the knowledge of this virtuous Shaikh because they knew him well.

Third, Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud [may Allah be pleased with him] said, “The people will not cease to be upon good as long as knowledge comes to them from the companions of Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him], and from their elders. If knowledge comes from their young ones, then that is when they will be ruined”. [7]

Ibn Qutaybah [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “The intent behind this statement is that the people will not cease to be upon good as long as their scholars are Shaikhs and not young because the Shaikh (in most cases) have lost the pleasure-seeking of youth, its intensity, haste, and foolishness. He is accompanied by experience and insight, so (in most cases) neither ambiguity enters his knowledge nor is he overcome by (vain) desire, nor inclined towards covetousness, nor does Shaytan make him slip as he does to a young person. Age accompanies composure, dignity, and veneration, but the young people may be subject to these matters that the Shaikh is safe from, which if they enter a young person, he issues a fatwa and thus destroys him and others”. [8] However, this is not absolute regarding the young ones because there were a group of the Sahaabah and the Taabi’een who taught and gave verdicts at a young age, whilst the elders were present, but the likes of these people are hard to find among those who came after them. So, if they are found and are known for being upright- upon a sound [guidance], possess knowledge, and their firmness is manifested, whilst there are no elders to be found, then knowledge of the Shariah is acquired from them if they are free from Fitnah! Therefore, the intent is not that the knowledge possessed by the young person is boycotted, whilst the elders are present; rather the intent is that the people are placed in their rightful positions. [9]

Finally, Ahlus Sunnah always return to their senior scholars in times of adversity, as Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillah Al-Jaabiri [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: “When the people of virtue and righteousness were faced with adversity and an intricate affair, they would go to the Senior people of knowledge to ask them and seek a Jawaab Ash-Shaafee Al-Kaafee [i.e. an appropriate answer that would bring about the rectification of the religious affairs and preservation of the well-being of the people based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah]. This is a followed path –beginning since the era of the Prophet’s companions, then the Imaams of the Taabi’een, and then –after them- the people of knowledge, virtue, religion, and Iemaan. And beautiful is what Ibn Mas’ud said, ‘The people will not cease to be righteous and upright as long as knowledge comes to them from the companions of Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] and their elders; but if knowledge comes to them from their young ones, they will be ruined'”. [1] Manhaj principles remain intact regardless of books taught or presence – in Greenlane – of Shaikh from abroad! [Abu Makkah’s companion – (Muhammad Abdur Razzaaq) Reminded]

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillah Al-Jaabiri [may Allah have mercy upon him] was asked: This questioner says: What is obligated to the common Salafis concerning those du’aat (callers) about whom the scholars differ in their commendations and criticisms, regardless of whether they (i.e. the common Salafis) are aware or unaware of their mistakes (i.e. the mistakes of those callers)?

Answer: I say: I advise you; neither accept cassettes nor books except those of a person whom you know to be upon the Sunnah and a witness of that is established for him—the one well-known to be upon the Sunnah and an opposition to it is not manifested from him. This is an (abiding) general principle applied to him whilst he is alive and after his death. The one who passed away and we regarded him to be upon the Sunnah, then in our view he is upon the Sunnah and we ask Allah to keep him firm upon it in the afterlife [i.e. Allah grants him firmness to answer the questions in the grave due to adherence to the Sunnah (Tawheed and following the Messenger) and resurrects him in the afterlife as a person of Sunnah] just as he was kept firm upon it whilst he was alive…Ameen. This is the first affair. If the affair of a person is hidden from you–the one whose books and cassettes are famous and his fame is widespread–then ask those who are well acquainted with him and those who know about his state of affairs. That is because neither is the Sunnah hidden nor are its people. A man’s Tazkiyah (i.e. the clear witness that he is upright upon the Sunnah) are his actions. His Tazkiyah are his actions that he is upon the Sunnah. It is the witness and the people mention him with it during his life and after his death. None hides behind the Sunnah– the people beguiled by him, gathered around him to learn, adhered to him, became dependent on him, and accepted everything he said–except that Allah will reveal his affair, uncover and expose his concealed state of affairs to specific individuals and the general public, regarding what was hidden and apparent of his deception, his mixing truth with falsehood, his plots and deceitful practices. Allah facilitates men of virtue, intelligence, wisdom, strength, and exceptional natural ability–possessors of knowledge, skill, and sound understanding of the religion–through whom He (Allah) unveils the affair of that trickster, dubious, and deceitful person.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon you that when the state of that person is made clear–the one whose fame is widespread, etc.–then you should be cautious of him as long as he was warned against by those people of knowledge and Imaan who are upon the Sunnah because they will unveil his affair with evidence. And there is no hindrance in unveiling the state of that person who has been warned against by a scholar or scholars with the appropriate etiquettes and in a good manner because that scholar will say to you: “I saw this and that in him, and I saw this and that in the book of such and such, or I heard this or that in the cassette of such and such.” Therefore, you have clear evidence that will unveil what was hidden from you, and that the one whose fame is widespread and whose speech is pleasant hides something of innovation and plotting, which cannot be compared to what he manifests from the Sunnah.

Secondly: The one who knows of a mistake and it is clear to him, then it is not permissible for him to blindly follow a scholar to whom an affair is hidden. And indeed you already heard yesterday that the scholars are not infallible in their Ijtihaadaat. Therefore, it is not permissible to adopt them (i.e. the mistakes of the scholars) as a methodology (to follow).

The Shaikh also said: A scholar from Ahlus Sunnah is only a human, he can be distracted and forgetful, deceived by evil people, or he used to consider that man to be trustworthy–who has now been declared untrustworthy–and he deceives him. The witnesses to this affair are many because many of those whose status has been dropped– due to being declared unreliable based on evidence–are in reality people who wage war against the Sunnah and its people. So, they come along with copies of their books and read them to the distinguished scholars–those whom virtue and leadership are witnessed for them in the religion–and the affair of this trickster and plotter is hidden from that noble scholar, which had he known about it the status of this person would have dropped in his eyes. So, this scholar gives praise based on what he heard. If the book (of this trickster) is printed, it is disseminated and transmitted by his supporters and they spread a good reputation about him. Thus some argue saying, “Such and such praised him– Al-Albaanee, or Ibn Baaz, or Ibn Al-Uthaymeen praised this book. However, these scholars are excused; rather this trickster was hidden from that scholar. So, what remains? We establish the evidence against this [deceiver, trickster, intrigant, and plotter] from his books. We establish the manifest clarifications against him from his books, and we say to the one who argues with us, “Take it, this is his speech”. Therefore, it is obligated to you to be fair, free from that wild and zealous attachment, and from desires that blind a person. It is obligated to you that your search should be for the truth. [1]

Some reminders from Al-Allaamah Ubaid’s [may Allah have mercy upon him] clarification

“A man’s Tazkiyah (i.e. the clear witness that he is upright upon the Sunnah) are his actions. His Tazkiyah are his actions that he is upon the Sunnah. It is the witness and the people mention him with it during his life and after his death”.

“Therefore, it is incumbent upon you that when the state of that person is made clear–the one whose fame is widespread, etc.–then you should be cautious of him as long as he was warned against by those people of knowledge and Imaan who are upon the Sunnah because they will unveil his affair with evidence”. “The one who knows of a mistake and it is clear to him, then it is not permissible for him to blindly follow a scholar to whom an affair is hidden. And indeed you already heard yesterday that the scholars are not infallible in their Ijtihaadaat. Therefore, it is not permissible to adopt them (i.e. the mistakes of the scholars) as a methodology (to follow)”. “A scholar from Ahlus Sunnah is only a human, he can be distracted and forgetful, deceived by evil people, or he used to consider that man to be trustworthy–who has now been declared untrustworthy–and he deceives him. First, we remind Muhammad Abdur Razzaaq that what is given paramount importance is the evidence and acting upon it, but not sheltering behind this or that Shaikh for some time and then returning to one’s corruption after the departure of the Shaikh. Muhammad’s misguided call to the hizbiyyoon of Greenlane

[1] An Excerpt. Paraphrased]

[5] Remind those who praise or retweet without clarity that there are those who claim Salafiyyah but follow a misconstrued or so-called balanced path when dealing with ahlul bidah

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhali [may Allah preserve him] said:

After speaking about those who make Takfeer based on falsehood [1] amongst the different factions of the Jahmiyah [2], the Khawaarij [3], the Rawaafid and the Qadariyyah [4], and the reason behind such Takfeer, Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated, “On the opposite side of these people who make Takfeer based on falsehood, there are people who do not know the creed of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa’ah as it should be, or they know some and are ignorant of some. And perhaps what they know of it, they do not clarify for the people, rather they conceal it. Neither do they forbid Bidah nor censure ahlul bidah and punish them; rather, perhaps they would censure speech related to the Sunnah and the fundamental principles of the religion – completely – and would not differentiate – in that – between what Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah say [i.e. adherents to the sound Prophetic Sunnah and sound unity] and what ahlul bidah wal furqah say [i.e. the proponents of innovation in religious affairs who split (disunite due to their opposition to the correct path)], or they would affirm all their differing Madhabs [creeds, paths] in a manner similar to how the scholars would affirm the different opinions related to affairs of Ijtihaad about which difference of opinion is justified. [5] This path has overwhelmed many of the Murji’ah, some of the jurists, those pursuing the path of asceticism and the philosophers, just as it has overwhelmed – first and foremost – many amongst the people of desires and rhetoric. Both these paths are perverted, outside the Book [i.e. The Qur’an] and the Sunnah”. [End of Quote]

After quoting the above statement of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi said, “I say, may Allah have mercy on Ibn Tamiyyah. Indeed, he clarified the situation of the people of his era and those before them, then what if he saw the situation of many amongst the Al-Jamaa’aat Al-Hizbiyyah Wal-Bid’iyyah [The Groups of Illegal Partisanship and Bidah [6] who ascribe themselves to Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa’ah and take cover behind them – in particular – to promote their falsehoods! What if he saw them whilst they have definitely gathered between the Madhabs [creeds paths] of the two groups- the khawaarij and those who follow their way in pronouncing Takfeer in the subject matter of Al-Haakimiyyah [7] and the way of the Mur’jiah [8] in the manner they approach the affair of people who are upon the big and numerous innovations in religious affairs, and equating innovation in religion to those affairs of the religion in which Ijtihaad is justified, whose people are rewarded alongside a refutation against their mistakes! In the view of these people, the leaders of Misguidance and Bidah are like the Imams of Guidance and Sunnah. [9] [An Excerpt from “Al-Mahajjatul Baydaa Fee Himaayatis Suunatil Gharraa Min Zallaati Ahlil Akhtaa’i Wa Zayghi Ahlil Ahwaa” 117-118]

Finally, Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyah said, “Rather what is obligatory is to clarify that which Allah sent His Messengers with and (revealed) in His Books, propagate that which the Messengers brought from Allah and fulfil the covenant which Allah took from the scholars. Therefore, it is obligatory to know that which the Messengers brought, believe in it, propagate it, call to it, striving with it, weigh up all that which the people embark upon – [statements, actions, religious fundamentals and subsidiary issues pertaining to the apparent actions of the Limbs and affairs related to actions of the heart]- under the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, neither following desires [through] customs, a school of law, a religious order, a leader or a predecessor, nor following conjecture through a weak hadeeth or corrupt analogy, regardless whether it is an analogy that offers some degree of certainty or not, or blindly following someone who it is not obligated to follow his statement and action because Allah -in His Book – has censured those who follow conjecture and that which their souls desire, whilst they abandon following that which came to them from their Lord of Guidance”. Amr bin Al-Aas [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated that he heard Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] saying, ‘’If a Mujtahid gives a verdict according to the best of his knowledge and his verdict is correct, he will receive a double reward, and if he gives a verdict according to the best of his knowledge and his verdict is wrong, even then he will get a reward.’’ [Bukhari Number 7352]

Few Issues From This Hadeeth

[a] A Mujtahid (a scholar who strives to reach a judgement) is not deprived of reward. [b] The judgement of a non-Mujtahid is different from that of a Mujtahid. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said that the one who speaks about the religion without knowledge and out of ignorance [is guilty of] lying and sinning. The one who intentionally speaks to oppose the truth is threatened with entry into the fire of hell, as opposed to the affair of the one who speaks based on permissible Ijtihaad, for indeed he strives, fears Allaah as much as he is able, desires to seek knowledge as much as he was able, speaks for the sake of Allaah, knows the stronger proof and speaks based on that. This person is given two rewards if he is correct; but if he is mistaken, he receives one reward. [c] A Mujtahid can be correct or mistaken. [Arba’oona Hadeethaa Fee Usoolil Fiqh. pages 32-33]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee said, “We do not say that there are people of ijtihaad amongst ahlul bidah because they are followers of desires, and Allaah and His Messenger have testified to this. The misguided innovator stirs up discord and errs, and then says to you, ‘This is ijtihaad’. When Hikmatiyaar and the misguided parties [in Afghanistan] murdered Shaikh Jameel Ur-Rahmaan, they said: ‘This is ijtihaad.’ They do not fall into an affair of misguidance or a calamity except that they say, “This is ijtihaad.” This is [tantamount] to diluting Islaam, falsehood, misguidance, bidah and confounding truth with falsehood, when the mistakes of the [true and qualified scholars of ijtihaad]- for which they are rewarded- are placed at the same level with innovation, about which the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] declared to be a path that will lead to the hell fire”. [4] Remind those who praise or retweet without clarity that Al-Allaamah Rabee reminds us about the trials and the obligation of clarity

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him] narrated that Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “Hasten to perform good deeds before a trial that is similar to the dark part of the night, (in which) a man will be a believer in the morning and an unbeliever in the evening, or he will be a believer in the evening and an unbeliever in the morning, and sell his religion for some things of the worldly life”. [Saheeh Muslim. Number 118]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allah protect him] said: “Many trials have occurred, amongst them the trial of the khawaarij, the Rawaafid (see footnote a) and killing. Deviation and misguidance have occurred – either fighting and trials (related) to politics, creed, methodology, and what is similar to them. Many people who were to be destroyed were destroyed and the one whom Allah protected was saved and (enabled) to adhere to the true methodology. Therefore, during every trial, they (the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah) must openly proclaim the truth and clarify it for the people. They should distinguish – for them – between guidance and misguidance, between truth and falsehood, the manner in which the people will be safeguarded from these trials, the path through which they will be saved from entering into trials and other affairs (by way of which) Allah guides this (victorious) group when (they) face every trial”. [1]

“Yes, a man may be upon truth and then you do not see him thereafter except that he has become a disbeliever or a misguided innovator (in religious affairs)! This is nothing else but humiliation! He used to claim that he is upon good, a possessor of knowledge and upon the truth, but then he falls into disbelief- either Kufr Akbar or kufr Asghar. This is ignominy and Allah’s Protection is sought. How many people have been humiliated and exposed by a trial! [Suddenly] you come to know of them and their false claims are unveiled, and their reality is clarified for you”. [2]

The Shaikh also stated: A believer always fears that his situation will change. It has been reported from Aa’isha and Anas [may Allah pleased with them] that the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] often (supplicated), “يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِى عَلَى دِينِكَ – O turner of the hearts (Allah)! Keep my heart firm upon your religion”. I [i.e. Aa’isha or Anas] asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! We believe in you and what has been revealed to you, so do you fear for us?” He said, “Yes, indeed the hearts are between two fingers among the fingers of Allah and He turns them how He pleases”. By Allah! This is (true) understanding – that a person does not feel safe about himself, for indeed Satan flows through the human being like blood. (a) Therefore, a person should guard his heart, intellect and deeds ardently more than the (manner in which) he guards his wealth and honour. Whoever is given authority to look after his own affairs, it is obligated on him to guard his heart before everything else.

Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower]. [Surah Al Imraan’ Ayah 8] [3]

“I warn my brothers against the Fitan (trials, temptations) and that they turn to Allah (for help) to keep them steadfast upon the Religion. They should supplicate a lot (just as Allah taught the believers that they say),[رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْوَهَّابُ – Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower]. [Surah Al Imraan’ Ayah 8]

They should make this tremendous supplication often and the supplication which Allah’s Messenger used to make often. Anas said that Allah’s Messenger used to say a lot, “O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon your religion”. So the companions said, “O Allah’s Messenger! Do you fear for us?” He said, “Yes, indeed the hearts are between two fingers from the fingers of Allah, and He turns them however He wills”. [4]

We ask Allah:

O Allah! By Your Knowledge of the unseen and by Your Power over creation, let me live if life is good for me, and let me die if death is good for me; O Allah! I ask You to grant me (the blessing of having) fear of You in private and public; And I ask you (to make me utter) a statement of truth in times of contentment and anger; And I ask You for moderation when in a state of wealth and poverty; And I ask you for blessings that never ceases; And I ask You for the coolness of my eye that never ends; And I ask You (to make me pleased) after (Your) decree; and I ask You for a life of (ease, comfort, tranquillity etc) after death; I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face (i.e. in the Hereafter) and yearning to meet You without any harm and misleading trials (coming upon me); O Allah! Adorn us with the adornment of Imaann, and make us (from those who are) guided and guiding (others). [Sunan An-Nasaa’ee’ Number 1305 & declared Saheeh by Imaam Albaani (may Allah have mercy upon him) in As-Saheehah Number 1301]

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly (affairs), wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me (as a means of) increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. [Saheeh Muslim Number: 2720]

O Ever Living! O The Self Subsisting, Upon Whom Everything Depends! By Your mercy I seek assistance; rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye. [Imaam Albaani declared it Hasan in Silsilah As-Saheehah Number 227]

[4] Daniel Haqiqatjou– the bald-faced liar – approaches one of the worst types of usury

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah [The Exalted] said:

فَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلرِّجۡسَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَوۡثَـٰنِ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ قَوۡلَ ٱلزُّورِ
So shun the abomination (worshipping) of idols, and shun lying speech (false statements).
[Surah Al-Hajj. Ayah 30]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi al-Mad’khali [may Allah preserve him] stated: “Allah forbade lying and mentioned it alongside shirk”. The Shaikh also stated, “Numerous are liars today against the callers and carriers of the Salafi Dawah. They (i.e. the liars) can disseminate cruel rumours till it reach the world using various means made available to them in this era. They divert people from Allah’s path and seek to make it crooked to further their falsehoods, twaddle, and dangerous innovations in religion that destroy sound belief, sound Islamic approaches to various subjects, and virtuous manners”. [1]

Mr Haqiqatjou stated: “As I’ve covered for over a year now, the Madkhalis are a deviant group that was created by Saudi and UAE intelligence to trick Muslims worldwide into thinking that Gulf policies, no matter how anti-Islamic, should never be criticized. According to Madkhalis, if you or I criticize these countries for secularizing or for normalizing relations with Israel, our criticism constitutes “khuruj” and makes us heretics and terrorists who should be killed. Madkhalis have been calling for my death for the past year now for this”. [End of quote]

Response: This classification of a so-called strain within Salafiyyah known as Madkhalism is a ruse concocted by the Shayaateen among Salafiyyah’s sworn foes. They are unable to present concrete evidence to confront the sound Salafi methodology and its upright scholars, therefore they resort to lies, fantasy, delusions, and slander. This term was concocted by ahlul bidah (the Qutbiyyah, Ikhwaanees, and their ilk) to discredit a great scholar of this Ummah called Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [may Allah preserve him]. Read about this great scholar in the article compiled by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allah preserve him]: https://abukhadeejah.com/biography-of-ash-shaykh-al-allamah-rabi-ibn-hadi-al-madkhali-and-the-praise-of-the-scholars-for-him/

There are no strains in Salafiyyah, let alone one known as Madkhalism; therefore, there’s no need to address anything related to its so-called origin or emergence as a so-called deviant group, otherwise, we’ll engage in a fruitless debate in attempting to rebut this delusion of the arrogant liar Mr Haqiqatjou. Everything said by the liar about this fictitious strain within Salafiyyah is intended to misconstrue the reality of Al-Allaamah Rabee’s approach and efforts in rebutting ahlul bidah. Indeed, Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allah protect him] is their target since he, along with other well-known Salafi Scholars – such as Al-Allaamah Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaami, Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillah Al-Jaabiri, Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan, Al-Allaamah Muhammad Bin Abdil Wahhaab Al-Bannah, Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi Al-Waad’ee – exposed the corruption and deception of the Takfeeris, Qutubies, and other political activists in Saudi and elsewhere, and Al-Allaamah Rabee, in particular, revealed the reality of Sayyid Qutb, Hasan Al-Bannah, the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood sect, Adnaan Aroor, Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq, Ihyaa Turaath, and others. Additionally, other Salafi scholars, such as Imaam Al-Albaanee, as well as Salafi students of knowledge in the East and the West, revealed the truth about the Khawaarij, such as Usaamah Bin Ladin and Ayman Az Zawaahiri, political activists, and people who adhered to the Ikhwaanees’ methodology, such as Salman Al-Awdah, Safar, Nasir Umar, Muhammad Al-Areefee, Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, and their ilk.

This is the reality whether Mr Haqiqatjou acknowledges it or not. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali and his students in the East and the West were amongst the first to expose all contemporary deviant groups and individuals whose orientation is a path that encourages an innovative political discourse or rebellion against Muslim rulers. So, when their misguided tactics and covert attempts to infiltrate Salafiyyah were uncovered, they concocted a so-called, imaginary strain within Salafiyyah which they called Madkhalism and falsely attributed to Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’kali. And to cover up their deviated organisations and figureheads, they also invented several bogus ideas; nevertheless, Al-Allaamah Rabee once more revealed their evil schemes. Read what the Shaikh stated in this link: https://salaficentre.com/2019/08/16/one-of-the-most-dangerous-group-shaikh-rabee-unveils-their-affair/

The right approach in dealing with the Muslim ruler, whether impious or pious, is not left to Mr Haqiqatjou’s vain desires; rather, the believer is commanded to return to the authentic divine texts as understood by the Prophet’s companions. Read below:

Believer’s Bahaviour Towards Muslim Rulers – [Supplicates For Them….]

Senior Salafi students transmitted this subject matter many years ago from the clarifications of the Senior Scholar before Mr. Haqiqatjou began to openly attack Salafiyyoon and labelling them as Mad’khalis. Read “Imaam Ibn Baz on the Manhaj of Correcting the Rulers”:

https://www.salafipublications.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=MNJ16&articleID=MNJ160003&articlePages=1

Imaam Barbahaaree on the Manhaj of Dealing With the Rulers: By Shaikh Abu Talhah [may Allah have mercy upon him and his wife] and Shaikh Abu Iyaad [may Allah preserve him]:

https://salafipublications.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=MNJ16&articleID=MNJ160002&pfriend=

So, are Imaam Al-Barbahaaree and Imaam Ibn Baaz [may Allah have mercy on them] Mad’khalis because of the approach they employ in dealing with the Muslim rulers?!

Mr. Haqiqatjou stated: “According to Madkhalis, if you or I criticize these countries for secularizing or for normalizing relations with Israel, our criticism constitutes “khuruj” and makes us heretics and terrorists who should be killed. Madkhalis have been calling for my death for the past year now for this”. [End of quote]

Response: First, using the word “secularising” without explanation or differentiation is risky since not everyone who sins can be seen to be secularising his beliefs, behaviours, or attitudes. Therefore, we are obligated to elucidate in the following link:

“I Consider Myself a Secular Muslim” – Statement of Damn fools!

Regarding the normalisation of relations with the Zionists of Palestine or any other non-Muslim group or country, this is not under our authority; instead, it is the responsibility of the rulers, and it is the duty of those who can advise the rulers if they have evidence that following such a course in a given situation will cause more harm than good. And we ask Allah to guide the rulers in all affairs, as Imaam Fudayl Ibn Iyaad [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: “If I had one supplication that was going to be answered I would make it for the ruler (imām), for the wellbeing and righteousness of the Imam [i.e. the ruler] means wellbeing for the land and its people”. [2]

Would this statement of Imaam Fudayl make him a so-called Mad’khali?!

Mr. Haqiqatjou stated: “Our criticism (i.e. against the rulers who are secularising in the view of Mr. Haqiqatjou) constitutes “khuruj” and makes us heretics and terrorists who should be killed. Madkhalis have been calling for my death for the past year now for this”. [End of quote]

Response: First, clarification and differentiation are needed for this assertion. We have previously included the link with the information on how to advise the rulers and will attach it again here so that the reader does not have to scroll up.

“Imaam Ibn Baz on the Manhaj of Correcting the Rulers”:

https://www.salafipublications.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=MNJ16&articleID=MNJ160003&articlePages=1

Imaam Barbahaaree on the Manhaj of Dealing With the Rulers: By Shaikh Abu Talhah [may Allah have mercy upon him and his wife] and Shaikh Abu Iyaad [may Allah preserve him]:

https://salafipublications.com/sps/sp.cfm?subsecID=MNJ16&articleID=MNJ160002&pfriend=

Second, there is no doubt that the one who goes against the correct path in advising the rulers as mentioned above is mistaken, even if his intention is not to call to khuruj, as Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Uthaymeen [may Allah have mercy on him] said, “There is no khuruj with the sword except that it is preceded by Khuruj with the tongue.” [3]

Third, there is more danger to the affair of those who criticise the rulers intending to call to Khuruj! Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan [may Allah preserve him] stated: There are various types of khawaarij: those who carry weapons, those who write, those who speak like the one who said to Allah’s Messenger “Be just”, and those who believe in their hearts but do not speak or act upon it despite having the belief of the khawaarij in their heart. However, some are worse than others. [4]

Thus, are Imam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen and Al-Allaamah Saalih al-Fawzaan Madkhalis now considered to be Mad’khalis as a result of the aforementioned clarification?

Without a doubt, the person who openly follows the path of the khawaarij in words, deeds, or beliefs is a terrorist since the khawaarij advocate for violence and is a heretic in the sense that he follows Bidah and a false creed. However, regarding the verdict that they ought to be killed, Mr. Haqiqatjou has once again refrained from providing further details; hence, we are obliged to clarify in this link: https://salaficentre.com/2011/10/24/shaikh-fawzaan-the-methodology-of-ahlus-sunnah-in-their-combat-against-the-khawaarij/

As for Mr. Haqiqatjou’s claim that “Mad’khalis [i.e. so-called Madkhalis] have been calling for my death for the past year now for this”, he must state specifically who is threatening to kill him because neither are we Mad’khalis nor have we threatened to kill or physically harm anyone, rather, we are Salafiyyoon. Therefore, it is incumbent upon Mr. Haqiqatjou to elaborate and mention names rather than wallowing in ambiguity, as Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction because unrestricted and general (statements) without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence [i.e. the world], and misguided the intellects and views in every era”. [5]

Indeed, we completely disassociate ourselves from the statements and actions of anyone who believes that Mr. Haqiqatjou should be physically harmed or killed, and may Allah protect our hearts, mouths, and tongues from such transgression, Aameen.

Finally, it is incumbent upon him to cease being an arrogant liar as well as abandon this fictitious Mad’khali labelling that is constantly manifesting his fraudulent behaviour as our Senior Salafi teachers [Shaikh Abu Iyaad and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah] give unambiguous knowledge-based clarifications and those duped by him become more certain that he is nothing more than a spiteful attention seeker who harbours hatred against the Salafiyyoon because they are a deterrent to his misguidance and vain desires.

Not good enough to show concern for Ahlus Sunnah and calling for cooperation while wallowing in wilful ignorance!

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Dr Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli stated that he advices the youth of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah to solve their differences based on what is found in the Book and the Sunnah, utilise what is found in it to solve the great splitting that has occurred due to differing in the affairs of knowledge, the stances towards some of the Mukhaalifeen, which many of the Salafi youth are upon in the Muslim lands, and even in the non-Muslim countries where the Muslims are the smallest group, and has led to shunning and boycotting, rather this has even led to violating the rights of others and transgression between Ahlus Sunnah until the fitnah has become great, very dangerous and has affected the dawah to the Sunnah, and prevented some people from embracing the Dawah after the people accepted it in many regions and countries.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allah preserve him] responded to the above statement, saying that it was incumbent upon Dr Ibraaheem to be acquainted with the reasons behind the differing between the Salafi youth and those who ascribe themselves to it, then openly embark upon the truth and convict those who split the Salafi youth- those who innovate corrupt principles to defend the people of bidah and misguidance; refute their corrupt principles, fundamentals and misguided methodologies; refute their defence of the people of bidah and misguidance, (refute) their war against Ahlus Sunnah, (attempts) to defame  the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah and their scholars.

It was incumbent upon Dr Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli to specify those who have violated the rights of others and the transgressors – those who brought about great trial and whose affair is of severe danger due to the initiation and prolongation of this fitnah through deceptive methods and false principles, which they have set up to destroy the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah and topple the scholars. Many people have been duped by these deceptive methods, false alarms and fundamentals whose aim is to reject truth and misguide the people because they have brought about great trial and severe danger.

Among the consequences of this (Fitna) is that many from Ahlus Sunnah deviated and fled from the Manhaj of Ahlus Sunnah after accepting it, therefore, as a matter of fact, it becomes known who is the cause of the fitnah for the Salafi Dawah, which brought about trials and splitting. Therefore, clarification is a necessity because sincere advice and clarification are from the most important affairs that the Messengers were sent with. Allah [The Most High] says that His Prophet Nuh [peace be upon him] said: [أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ – I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know from Allah what you know not (7:62)]

Allah [The Most High] said that His Prophet Hud [peace be upon him] said:

[أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنَا لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ – I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy adviser (or well-wisher) for you (7:68)]

Allah [The Most High] says:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوْمِهِ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ ۖ فَيُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them. Then Allah misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.[14:4]

The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets with regards to this advice, clarification and other than it. If this obligatory clarification is not received from him [i.e. from Dr Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli], it is incumbent upon me [Rabee] to fulfil it. The figureheads of this trial, its initiators and flag bearers are well known to Ahlus Sunnah, and they are Adnaan Ar’oor, Abul Hasan al Maribi, Ali al Halabi and those who follow them, their principles and methodology. These people pursue their war against Ahlus Sunnah and defence of the senior people of bidah.

An Excerpt from “Bayaan Maa Fee Naseehati Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli Minal Khalal Wal Ikh’laal pages 8-20. paraphrased]

[11.2] Abu Makkah’s Companion (Muhammad Abdur Razzaaq) Opens a Can of Worms

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Muhammad Abdur-Razzaaq stated:

Imaam Ahmad [may Allah have mercy upon him] stated in a letter to the Khaleefah Al-Mutawakkil [may Allah have mercy upon him], “Among other things, it is not permissible to seek the aid and assistance of Ahlul Bid’ah Wal-Ahwaa [the people of Bidah and vain desires] in anything regarding the affairs of the Muslims because that is of greater harm upon the religion”. [1]

We ask Muhammad: Is there anything that a supporter of bid’ah would accomplish that the Scholars of Sunnah of our time haven’t already done, whether through their speech, publications, refutations, or the clarifications of their upright students in the East and the West?! In addition to the fact that this person still upholds his bid’ah, does Islam need a proponent of bid’ah to defend anything on its behalf?! Is it not more important for a proponent of Bid’ah in the East or West to give up his Bid’ah than to refute the Kuffaar, which has been done for many years and is still being done by upright people of Sunnah?! Can Muhammad guarantee that applauding any proponent of Bidah will not garner him more esteem and make the people more inclined towards him, making him a greater trial and evil for the common people and those duped by him?!

Imam Ash-Shaatibee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: “Indeed, showing reverence to a person of Bid’ah is the basis of two corruptions that lead to the destruction of Islam. One of them is that the ignorant and the common people will pay attention to that reverence, and believe that the Mubtadi is the best of people and that what he is doing is better than what others are doing, so this leads them to follow him in his Bida’ah and not follow Ahlus Sunnah in their adherence to Sunnah. The second affair is that if he is shown reverence due to his Bid’ah, this would become like the spur for him to initiate Bid’ah in everything. And whatever the case may be, Bida’ah will become alive and the Sunan dies, which is the destruction of Islam itself”. [2]

Finally, Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [may Allah preserve him] stated: Being mindful of Ahlul Bid’ah, having hatred for them, boycotting and cutting them off is the correct path of protection of Ahlus Sunnah against falling into their Fitnah. Being lackadaisical about them, having a good suspicion of them, and inclining towards them is the beginning of the path of misguidance and deviation.

And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the fire should touch you.
Surah Hud. Ayah 113

Who is more unjust than Ahlul Bid’ah? Ahlul Bid’ah are more evil than the sinners and the disobedient, and for that reason, the Jusrist of Basra and the most intelligent of them Salaam Bin Abee Mutee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “It is more beloved to me that I meet Allah with Hajjaaj’s scroll of (deeds in the Hereafter) than meet Him with Amr Bin Ubaid’s”. Amr Bin Ubaid was a Zaahid and a worshipper Maashaa-Allaah, but he was a Mubtadi and a misguided one, and Hajjaaj was an evil-doer, a shedder of blood, and a criminal. He [Salaam Bin Abee Mutee] held that if he were to make a choice between meeting Allah with Hajjaaj’s scroll and that of Amr Bin Ubaid, he would choose to meet Allah with Hajjaaj’s -the bloodshedder and oppressive evil doer. And why is this? Due to his realisation of the danger and ugliness of bid’ah. And it is enough for us that the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] described (bidah) in his khutbah as the worst of all affairs, as reported in the Hadeeth of Jaabir [may Allah be pleased with him]. [3]

Question to Muhammad: We are all aware that Zuhd and commitment to worship are virtues adored by the Ummah, and those who possess these outstanding traits are held in high regard; therefore, why did Salaam Bin Abee Mutee regard the Mubtadi’ah in such a way that a Zaahid and dedicated worshipper was not honoured in his eyes?! The answer is very clear for everyone to see.

[1] Juz Feehi Imtihaan As-Sunnee Min Al-Bid’ee. page 76

[2] Al-I’tisaam 1/114]

[3] An Excerpt from “Al-Mawqif As-Saheeh Min Ahlil Bidah”. page 12. Slightly paraphrased.

The questioner asked Imaam Al-Albaani about migration and the issue of Palestine – [Part 2]

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said: “Indeed, the scholars are the inheritors of the prophets, for the prophets do not leave behind a dinar or a dirham for inheritance, but rather, they leave behind knowledge. So whoever takes hold of it, has acquired a large share (i.e. of inheritance)”. [Sunan At-Tirmidhee 2682]

The Conversation Begins

Questioner: May Allah bless you. The issue of Palestine is a special issue and has some peculiarities. It is possible to use as evidence the hadith found in the book Al-Taaj Al-Jaami Lil-Usul, which is narrated by Abdullah Bin Amr [may Allah be pleased with him and his father] on the authority of the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him], who said, “There will be migration after migration and the people who are best will be those who cleave most closely to places which Ibraaheem migrated. The worst of its people will remain in the earth cast out by their lands, abhorred by Allah, gathered along with apes and swine by fire”. This hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud with a valid chain of transmission. I do not know how authentic this hadith is? [a]

The Shaikh: Okay.

Questioner: This is a point. The point now is that whenever we think of or observe the people of Palestine, (it is) the conflict with the Yahood, and you know best, may Allah bless you, about the Yahood, their impurity (i.e. evil deeds), and their hatred against Islam and Muslims.

The Shaikh: O my brother! This is the type of speech that we do not want because this is all well-known. We will see what the problem is.

Questioner: The problem is when you told the man that it is obligatory to exit and go to an Islamic country, never mind leaving a place of migration to an Islamic country!

The Shaikh: Do not say “Khurooj (exit)”.

Questioner: Al-Hijrah (Migration).

The Shaikh: Yes

Questioner: Migration from the land of Palestine, from the land of war?

The Shaikh: Yes.

Questioner: How do we reconcile this statement (of yours) with the hadith of the Messenger [peace and blessings be upon him] “You will fight the Yahood, while you are in the outskirts of Bayt al-Maqdis”, the hadith that you know?

The Shaikh: Oh yes.

Questioner: So, let us know, may Allah bless you.

The Shaikh: Others besides you utter this Shubhah (i.e. ambiguity, or an affair that contains some truth but mixed with untruth or doubt). Is (Baytul Maqdis) better than Al-Masjid Al-Haraam (the Sacred Mosque at Makkah)?

Questioner: No.

The Shaikh: Good, is Baytul Maqdis better than Makkah?

Questioner: No.

The Shaikh: Good, which of the two migrations is more dangerous- the migration of the Messenger from Makkah (to Madinah) or this migration that we are proposing?

Questioner: The migration of the Messenger (was more dangerous).

The Shaikh: Therefore, this (migration we are proposing) is all the more (required), so why do you over-emphasise and begin your speech based on that hadith about the migration of Ibraaheem [peace be upon him]? First, the Ibraaheem’s migration was not to Baytul Maqdis, but rather the entire Shaam, isn’t it?

Questioner: Yes

The Shaikh: Good, so if the Messenger[peace be upon him] established for the Muslims- by way of his Sunnah – to migrate from a land where they are persecuted, due to his migration from the (land of) the Sacred Masjid; and firstly, as I mentioned, that they migrated to Abyssinia, which was a land of disbelief; Subhaanallaah! When it is the case that the Messenger established this Sunnah for his persecuted companions to migrate from Makkah to the land of disbelief – to Abyssinia, to that (ruler) the Negus; then why do you find it strange that you – a Muslim who believes in Allah and His Messenger, and is keen to follow the Messenger [peace be upon him]- to advice his Muslim brothers based on what is within his ability to do so? Enough of throwing the souls to destruction, and shedding the blood of Muslims in vain. (It is said) in the colloquial proverbs in some Arab countries, “An eye cannot resist a prick”.

Islamic countries that have power, weapons, planes, and tanks are watching (i.e. due to inability), and the Palestinians are the ones facing the tanks and the planes and so on. You think that they will expel the Yahood (i.e. from their occupied land), and (expelled) based on the statement (claim) of that impostor who was swallowed up and was announcing that he would throw the Yahood into the sea; you think that our Palestinian brothers, those who are persecuted by the Yahood, the worst of persecution, will be able to throw the Yahood in the sea? [b]

Questioner: Of course not.

The Shaikh: So, may God bless you. These people are more obligated to migrate than others because they are killed by the dozens every day, compared to one Yahoodi they kill every month. [c] This migration that you found strange, the exact opposite is correct. When it is the case that the Messenger first permitted the weak and persecuted people in Makkah to migrate to Abyssinia, the land of the Christians at that time, we say today, “Do not migrate to the land of the Christians, but rather migrate to the land of Islam (Muslim countries)”. This is the first affair. Secondly, when Allah gave him permission to migrate from Makkah to Madina, Allah’s Messenger [may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] stood on which mountain? Qubays?

Questioner: Mountain Abu Qubays.

The Shaikh: Yes, Abu Qubays. Then he turned to Makkah and said, “As for you, you are the most beloved land among Allah’s lands to me, and if it were not that your people expelled me from you, I would not have left.” So, this is Allah’s Messenger, whose heart is attached to Masjid Al-Haraam, which he made a place of (security and safety) for the people.

Questioner: “A place of resort for mankind and a place of safety”. [d]

The Shaikh: Oh yes, “A place of resort for mankind and a place of safety”. So, he was forced to migrate – first by himself – to be saved, and then his brothers who joined him. If he migrated from Allah’s best land, then why does one not migrate from Allah’s third best land, which is Baytul Maqdis? Muslims are persecuted, especially since they are tortured every day. Then you find what is called Arafat’s affiliate; what is the name of the organization?

Questioner: PLO

The Shaikh: The PLO is in the hundreds and thousands, and they may have money, weapons, etc., and they are watching?

Questioner: The PLO is well-known to be (like) the rubbish carried down by a torrent. [e]

The Shaikh: Good, this is what it is.

To be continued…InShaaAllah

The next discussion between the Shaikh and the questioner is specifically about Jihaad.

[a] Sunan Abu Dawud 2482

[b] This only applies to combatants who wage war against the Palestinians with weapons if the Palestinians and the Ummah had the ability to fight the occupiers and their allies. However, one must clearly bear in mind that during a declared war between two nations, non-combatants are not killed or oppressed, including women, children, monks, etc Read: https://abukhadeejah.com/salafi-shaikh-fawzaan-on-jihaad-in-our-times-and-the-guidelines-of-jihaad-according-to-islam/

[c] Imaam Al-Albaani [may Allah have mercy upon him] was asked about this behavior of some people in Palestine, whose recklessness – in the name of so-called Jihaad – brings greater harm to the Muslims, so replied: “If your circumstances carry on in this manner, imagine, what will be the outcome? What will the Muslims be seeing and witnessing?! What will the Palestinians be massacred for? What will be the outcome (when) a Yahoodi is killed and in return tenfold of Palestinians are killed, thousands put in prison? Would this be a victory against the Yahood? This is not the (right) path, (which) actually the Muslims have – at present – wrongly identified as the (correct) way of Jihad”. [Silsilah Al-Hudaa Wan-Noor 317]

[d] Surah Al-Baqarah. Ayah 125

[e] Thawban [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish”. Someone asked, “Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?” He replied, “No, you will be numerous at that time, but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take the fear of you from the hearts of your enemy and place weakness into your hearts”. Someone asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! What is wahn (weakness)?” He replied, “Love of the world and dislike of death”. [Saheeh Sunan Abee Dawud 4297]

The only path to strength and victory- By Imams (Ibn Al-Jawzi and Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz)

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imam Ibn Al-Jawzi [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: Whoever loves that the state of affairs should become rectified, then let them strive in rectifying the deeds. Allah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

وَأَن لَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُم مَّاءً غَدَقًا

If they had believed in Allah and went on the Right Way, We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance]. [(1)]

Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: The path to victory is through learning the Shariah and acquiring an understanding of the religion by the rulers, those under the ruler’s authority, the elders and the young; acting upon what this learning and understanding necessitates, and abandon that which Allah has forbidden. Allah [The Exalted] said: [ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوۡمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُواْ مَا بِأَنفُسِہِمۡ‌ۗ – Verily! Allaah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah)]. [13:11]

Therefore, whoever wishes for victory and assistance from Allah, and to make Allah’s statement [i.e. none has the right to be worshipped except Allah] uppermost, they should change what one is upon with regards to disobedience and sins. Allah says:

Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islaam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. [24:55]

Allah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] did not say that He has made a promise to those who attribute themselves to the Quraish, the Arabs or those who build castles and excavate petrol, rather Allah associated this affair with true Imaan and righteous deeds, regardless whether they are Arabs or non-Arabs. [(2)]

Imam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: Indeed, defeat against the Muslims occurred due to one act of disobedience (i.e. at the battle of Uhud). At present we want victory whilst disobedience is rife amongst us, so due to this it is not possible for us to rejoice with victory as long as we are in this state of affairs, unless Allah shows us kindness and rectifies us. [(3)]

Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan [may Allah preserve him]: [One] should not lose hope when trials and evil increase. Indeed, he has to remain in tranquillity and should make others tranquil when trials occur, and he should say: “All Praise is due to Allah, we are upon guidance and a clear Religion. Solace is close by and evil will cease to exist by the permission of Allaah”. This is what is incumbent upon THE PEOPLE OF GOOD AND THE SCHOLARS–that they have tranquillity and make the people tranquil; because this (EVIL) is something that will cease to exist by the permission of Allaah and solace will come after it.

It is not permissible for a person to say: ‘’the people are destroyed.’’ This is not permissible; rather (a person) should make the people tranquil, firm upon goodness, whilst expecting assistance, for indeed the good end is for the people of piety. Therefore, no matter how great the evil and trial is, it will cease to exist. He (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ‘’A group of my followers will remain manifest upon the truth. They will neither be harmed by those who forsake them nor by those who oppose them till Allaah’s command arrives.” [i.e. the day of judgement] [Bukhari and Muslim]

Therefore, Islaam will not cease to continue and all praise be to Allaah. The Religion and the Qur’aan will not cease to exist until that appointed time which the prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) has informed us of – that at the end of time, the Qur’an will be taken away from the hearts of men and from the Masaahif (i.e. the copies of the Qur’an); but this will be at the time of the destruction of the world. (However) good will continue to exist whilst the Qur’an, the Sunnah and the Qiblah are present, even though there is one who is led away from it and becomes misguided; and even though there is one who deviates from it and becomes deviated, as the saying goes: ‘’Fitnah has its victims’’. It takes away the one who goes with it, but the people of Imaan will remain even if they are small in number. Even if there is one who goes along with the Fitnah, and the one who goes astray and the one who comes along with it, (still) the truth and its people will remain and all praise be to Allaah. The truth is present, as Allaah (The Exalted and Most High) said: [إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ – Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur’an) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption) 15:9]

A person should not lose hope nor should he despair. He should not make the people lose hope of a return to goodness. He should not make the people lose hope regarding (the fact) that truth will prevail and falsehood will be repelled because Allaah (Glorified and Exalted Be He) has made that promise and He does not fail to fulfil His promise. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: ‘’The Religion is aided when put to the test; therefore do not be amazed for this is the way of Ar-Rahmaan (The Most Merciful). [(4)]
