[11] The Affair of Markaz at-Tawheed: [General Statements By Way of Which Reality Is Concealed- Truth Mixed With Falsehood]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ – And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth)]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 42]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Allaah forbade (us) from mixing truth with falsehood, and thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused for the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he (i.e. the speaker) intends the corrupt meaning. (1)

[A] The blazing hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon stated, “Knowledge is taken from the Quran and Sunnah and this is our Dawah and what we should busy ourselves with”.

Response: This is a statement of truth, but the hizbiyyah they are upon – cooperating with ahlul bidah until that led them to aid the soofees in that would strengthen their bidah – is not from the Qur'aan and Sunnah. [B] The blazing hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon stated, “That cooperation on good is commanded in the Quran and has been acted upon by the Salaf and recent Scholars of this Ummah”.

Response: This is a statement of truth, but this is neither extended to ahlul bidah nor do we use scholars as an alibi to cooperate with ahlul bidah. Refer to articles:

[10.4] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [Close Scrutiny of Their Inclination Towards Using Scholars Seen In The Presence of Ahlul Bidah As An Alibi to Co-operate With Ahlul Bidah!

[C] The blazing hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon stated, “Cooperation with a person of innovation does not take you out of the Salafi manhaj unconditionally. “Taking knowledge and benefiting from the people of innovation does not make one an innovator unconditionally”.

Response: The Salaf neither listen to ahlul bidah nor sat with them. However, the only ones allowed to approach them are those scholars who are strong in both knowledge and character as Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi mentioned. Refer to article: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2022/09/11/10-4-the-affair-of-markaz-tawheed-close-scrutiny-of-their-inclination-towards-using-scholars-seen-in-the-presence-of-ahlul-bidah-as-an-alibi-to-co-operate-with-ahlul-bidah/

As for declaring people innovators, then indeed there is no doubt that this affair is left to those scholars who study the affair of individuals, groups and parties, and they will pass a judgement.

[D] The blazing hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon stated, “Praising the people of innovation does not make you an innovator unconditionally”.

Response: Refer to article here: It Is Not Permissible to Exalt The Innovators – [By Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan]: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2020/01/17/it-is-not-permissible-to-exalt-the-innovators-by-shaikh-saaleh-al-fawzaan/

As for declaring people innovators, then indeed there is no doubt that this affair is left to those scholars who study the affair of individuals, groups and parties, and they will pass a judgement.

[E] The blazing hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon stated, “One should fear Allah and not excessively praise, refute or busy oneself with fault finding and refuting”. “Busy yourself with beneficial knowledge of the Quran and Sunnah and not backbiting and slander”.

Response: Hizbiyyoon love general and ambiguous statements. Indeed the above statement needs clarity with examples that distinguishes between truth and falsehood in the affairs mentioned, otherwise benefit is not acquired, as Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “The basis of Banee Aadam’s misguidance is as a result of ‘General Terms’ and ‘Ambiguous Meanings’ [i.e. terms & meanings which can either be utilised for truth or falsehood when not explained in detail and distinguished], especially if they come in contact with a confused mind, then how about when [evil] desires and misguided enthusiasm is added to that? Therefore, ask the One Who keeps the hearts steadfast [i.e. Allaah] to keep your heart firm upon His Religion and not allow you to fall into this darkness”. (2)

The Imaam also said, “It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction, because unrestricted and general [statements] without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence [i.e. the world], and misguided the intellects and views [of the people] in every era”. Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said, “There has to be detail explanation. The one who is not proficient in giving detail should keep quiet, because benefit is not acquired from his speech. And every time error occurs, its cause is due to an absence of detail explanation regarding truth and falsehood. There has to be detail explanation and distinction and not to mix up [affairs]. Indeed, it may be that there is something of truth and falsehood in an opponent’s statement, so all of it is neither deemed to be false nor truth; rather there has to be a distinction between its truth and falsehood. All of it is neither rejected nor accepted; rather a distinction is made regarding the truth and what is correct and the falsehood and error in it. And if you are not proficient in giving detail, then you should not enter into this field”. (3)

All That Masjid Al-Furqan and Masjid Abi Hurairah Does Is Attack Other Majids In Stoke On Trent! [Statement of Naive People, Hizbiyyoon or Those Who Hate Clarity]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Al-Allaamah Saaleh al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] was asked: it obligatory upon the scholars to clarify to the youth and the common people the danger of partisanship, splitting and groups?

Answer: Yes it is obligatory to clarify the danger of partisanship and dividing and splitting so that the people can be upon insight and understanding because even the common people are being deceived. How many of the common people in this time have been fooled by some of the groups because they believe that they are upon the truth? So it is a must that we clarify to the people, the students and the common people, the danger of these parties and sects because if they remained silent [i.e. the scholars] then the people would say, “The scholars were aware of this and they remained silent.” Due to this innovation would enter upon them. So it is necessary to clarify these matters when these things appear. The danger for the common people is greater than the danger [posed] to the students because if the scholars remain silent the common people will think that this is correct and that this is the truth. [Al-Ajwibah Al-Mufeedah (page 131)]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] was asked: What do you say concerning an individual who advises others to abstain from listening to refutations, and when he was asked about the reason for him adopting this stance he said, “The person who asked me about this was a common person and he is unable to recite the Quran properly”. What are your comments upon this, may Allah bless you?

Answer: If he is a layman then he is to be taught the Islamic creed and to be warned from the people of innovations. The majority of the common people these days have become supporters of the people of innovation. So it is necessary to warn them against them (i.e. the people of innovation). Say to him, “So and so is upon such and such innovations and you listening to him will harm you”. This is so that they will not read (his works), listen to his tapes and that he is cautious about his speech. Meaning that this layman needs someone to warn him and he is to be reminded of the principle: “This knowledge is religion so look at whom you take your religion from.” During these times the common people are targeted by the people of innovation and will say to you, “do not let them read the books of refutations. No. No.” This (approach) will expose them to ruin. [Fataawa Fadeelah Ash-Shaykh Rabee’ Al-Madkhalee (1/273)]

The Shaikh was also asked: Is it permissible for us as students of knowledge to be silent about the innovators, and to cultivate the youth and the students upon the way of the Salaf without mentioning the names of the innovators?

Answer: By Allah, the innovators are to be mentioned by their traits and by their names if there is a need for this. If so and so has put himself forward for leadership and leading this nation and the youth and he is leading them towards falsehood, then he is to be mentioned by his name. If there is a need then he is to be mentioned by his name and it is necessary to mention him by his name. As it relates to this, one of the Salafis in Egypt used to teach and he would just mention general (descriptions without specifying names) and the people did not comprehend these generalities. After this he began to explicitly mention the names of the groups and individuals and they said (i.e. those who attended the lessons), “O Shaykh, why did you not teach us like this in the beginning?” He responded by saying, “I delivered to you many lessons and I would say this and I would say that (i.e. general descriptions without names).” They said, “By Allah, we did not understand.” [Fataawa Fadeelah Ash-Shaykh Rabee’ Al-Madkhalee (1/277)]

[10.4] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [Close Scrutiny of Their Inclination Towards Using Scholars Seen In The Presence of Ahlul Bidah As An Alibi to Co-operate With Ahlul Bidah!

The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [Close Scrutiny of Their Inclination Towards Using Scholars Seen In The Presence of Ahlul Bidah As An Alibi to Co-operate With Ahlul Bidah! (True Reality Behind This Dangerous Affair and Some of Its Outcomes In History)]

Sufyaan Ath-Thawree [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Whoever lends an ear to a person of Bidah has left the protection of Allaah and is entrusted to it (i.e. the bidah)”.

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said: The narration about fleeing from ahlul bidah and not to sit with them, nor to accompany them has preceded, therefore, whoever accompanies them and listens to their statements and does not reject them, will be destroyed alongside them. It is not permissible for you to lend an ear to them whilst saying, “I am a believer with strong Eemaan and I am well acquainted with the Aqeedah, and they annot have an effect on me”. This is self -deception – trial for the people, because being distant and not listening to their false statements is safety. As for lending your ear to them, then you will become worthy of being put to trial alongside them.

And regarding Sufyaan’s statement: “And is entrusted to it”, Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al Fawzaan commented: Because Allaah safeguards the one who seeks safety with Him but the one who listens to bidah is worthy of being put to trial by it. He is entrusted to it and is removed from the Protection of Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He]. [It’haaf Al-Qaaree. Vol 2. pages 316-317]

Al-Allaamah Rabee bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah preserve him] stated: Sufyaan Ath-Thawree is one of the Imaams of the Sunnah and illustrious figures of guidance. He may have derived this speech from the Messenger’s warning against sitting with evil people that would inevitably cause harm and lead to dangerous consequences. Whoever opposes the Messenger’s warning has exposed himself to evil and is entrusted to himself. It is said to the one who lends an ear to ahlul bidah, “Do not do this because indeed the Messenger forbade and warned you; the pious predecessors forbade and warned you against sitting with ahlul bidah and acquiring (knowledge) from them”.

So, once you say, “By Allaah! I read, I listen, take truth and abandon falsehood” which is similar to the well known principle at present though which many of the youth – who were following the path of the pious predecessors- have been made into a laughing stock, they came to them with this vile – corrupt – principle, saying, “Read from the books of Ikhwaan (1), the books of Tableegh (2), the books of ahlul bidah, Sufism (3) and the Rawaafid (4), accept the truth (from them) and abandon the falsehood. He (i.e. the one who reads etc) is a Miskeen (poor in his knowledge of these affairs), who neither knows truth nor can distinguish between it and falsehood, so he approaches falsehood, considers it to be truth and accepts it; approaches truth, considers it to be falsehood and rejects it, and thus he strays. Allaah entrusts this person to himself, because had he adhered firmly to the Sunnah, listen to the Messenger’s guidance, the stance of the Messenger’s companions and the pious predecessors, preserves the good he has – meaning the Sunnah, he would have been saved; but he became deceived so Allaah entrusts him to himself due to this self-deception and self-importance which some people embark upon, depends on himself and considers himself a leader in knowledge, whilst he is an ignoramus, so he falls into the traps of people of misguidance- quickly deviates and become one of the people of misguidance because Allaah forsakes and entrust him to himself.

And due to this, we say: the one who is not safe from falling into the traps of the people of misguidance, it is obligated on him to avoid the books of the people of bidah and (avoid) sitting with them, because indeed the Messenger warned against sitting with them and the pious predecessors warned against sitting with them, rather they held a consensus to boycott and ostracise them – not to expose oneself to them and their call, except the one who is well established in knowledge, the one with ability to establish the proof against them whilst being cautious, warning against sitting with them and not to incline towards them. As for the weak – the Miskeen – who is shaken by the light wind and it makes him fall (i.e. the one who cannot repel the doubts of ahlul bidah), it is obligated on him to preserve the good that Allaah has bestowed on him, because nothing can be equal to safety.

The one who has the ability and experience – able to call to the path of Allaah with wisdom and persuade the people of falsehood, he embarks upon calling them (to the truth), whilst not being in agreement with them, not sitting with them and flattering them; but rather he should be a Mujaahid, a caller to the path of Allaah, a sincere adviser, enjoining good and forbidding evil. This is one who embarks upon calling the people of falsehood (to truth) and clarifies the truth to them, so the one who is guided, then alhamdulil laah; but if not, then he has established the proofs which Allaah has obligated on the inheritors of the Prophets (i.e. the scholars) to be establish.

The Prophets were callers to the path of allaah, they invited the unbelievers to (the truth) and called the sinners (to the truth), and you are one of the inheritors of the Prophets, therefore, call these (people to the truth) and establish the proofs against them, but we do not say that this task is for everyone – that every Tom, Dick, and Harry intermingles with ahlul bidah and advise them; rather we say that this is for the people of knowledge, those well established in knowledge, the strong ones. As for those other than them – the ignoramuses and the ones with weak personalities, we warn and tell them to be on guard against the outcomes that descends on the one who is deceived by himself, so he becomes one from ahlul bidah and misguidance. By Allaah we know people from different Arab and Islamic countries who used to be upon good, then they were captured by this trick- meaning, read, read, take the truth and reject falsehood, but he was not seen thereafter except that he was from the villains of ahlul bidah, waging war against ahlus sunnah, defending the people of falsehood. We ask Allaah for wellbeing. [Awnul Baaree Bi-Bayaan Maa Tadammanahu Sharhus Sunnah Lil-Imaam Al-Barbahaaree. Vol 2. Page 970-972. slightly paraphrased]

Al-Fudayl Ibn Iyaadh [may have mercy upon him] said, “Whoever sits with a person of bidah has not be granted wisdom”.

Al-Allaah Rabee [may Allaah preserve him] said: The one who sits with ahlul bidah and incline towards them, there is no doubt that he is dim-witted and on the opposite side of wisdom. Sitting with ahlul bidah is dangerous, and we have mentioned to you several times the hadeeth: “The parable of good company and a bad company is only that of a seller of musk and a blacksmith”. (5) This is an urge (by way of a command) from the Messenger that one sits (or accompanies) the righteous – those who are free from misguidance and bidah, those who call to good, command good and forbid evil, warn against falsehood. These are ones to be accompanied, you will benefit from them in matters sound creed, sound methodology, authentic narrations and (acquire) abundant good. As for ahlul bidah -and Allaah refuge is sought, you will find corrupt creed with them, fabricated narrations, baseless narratives and other calamities (related to knowledge), which is the reason behind the deviation of many of those people who oppose the (sound Salafi Methodology).

By Allaah, it is not appropriate (or suitable) for some scholars to sit with ahlul ahwaa [the people of desires (bidah)], because it may be that he has some knowledge, but he becomes shaky and weak in personality, so he strays through falsehood. By Allaah, there is an example of this in history about a people who diverted from the truth (in some affair) even though they had knowledge. Amongst them was Al-Bayhaqi who was affected by Ash’ariyyah (6) and Abdur Razzaaq who was affected by At-Tashayyu (7)…many amongst them; rather many of those who were swept away by bidah, the reason was nothing else other than reading the books of ahlul bidah and sitting with the people of misguidance, and thus many people in the Islamic societies deviated due to this intermingling, sittings, reading and what is similar to that.

When Ahlus Sunnah listened to their scholars, Allaah protected them from being swept away by ahlul bidah, but when the scholars or some of the scholars fell short (or failed to act as required), authority lost, and the people became deceived by people of bidah and misguidance, the Islamic world was swept away by bidah. In the last century, ilhaad, Zandaqah, (8) communism, Baathism and secularism appeared. The people intermingled and strayed. The who intermingled with the heretics became a heretic, the one who intermingled with the callers to socialism became a socialist, the one who intermingled with the baathists became baathist, the one who intermingled with the Rawaafid became Raafidi (9), the one who intermingled with the Soofiyyah became a Sufi, the who intermingled with the groups of illegal partisanship became an adherent to illegal partisanship (10) and so on. Had they held onto the likes of this Prophet guidance and Salafi guidance, Allaah would have protected them, but they embarked upon error, so Allaah entrusted them to themselves. [Awnul Baaree Vol 2. pages 2974-975]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh al Fawzaan [May Allah preserve him] stated: It is forbidden to visit the Mubtadi [an innovator in religious affairs] and to sit with him, unless it is for the (purpose) of advice and rejection of what he is upon. That is because keeping his company has an evil effect and leads to spreading his enmity (i.e. his misguidance) to others. It is obligatory to warn against them and to warn against their evil if it becomes impossible to prevent them from practicing bidah. And if not, it is obligated on the scholars of the Muslims and those in charge of the affairs of the Muslims to prevent and restrain the Mubtadi’ah [innovators in religious affairs] from their evil. That is because the danger they pose to Islaam is great. It must be known that the nations of disbelief encourage the Mubtadiah in spreading their bidah and aid them upon that in creating divergent paths (i.e. disunite the word of the Muslims and create sects that are in opposition to the singular path of the Salafus Saalih in Belief and Methodology). That is because in this is termination of Islaam and distortion of its image. And Allah knows best. We ask Allah to aid His Religion and make His Word Uppermost, and forsake the enemies. [An Excerpt from “Al Irshaad ilaa Saheehil Ittiqaad War Raddu alaa Ahli Ash-Shirki Wal Ilhaad. Page 455]

This is the reality of the affair regarding the danger of sitting with Ahlul Bidah including some of those scholars who were affected. Therefore, neither is this affair everyone nor adopted as a general allowance to co-operated with ahlul bidah.

Firstly, the blazing hizbi or those blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed cannot utilise the excuse that because some scholars sit with ahlul bidah at present, therefore, they can also co-operate with ahlul bidah, rather this is a specific ruling that applies to scholars who are firmly grounded in knowledge as Al-Allaamah Rabee stated as follows: “The one who has the ability and experience – able to call to the path of Allaah with wisdom and persuade the people of falsehood, he embarks upon calling them (to the truth), whilst not being in agreement with them, not sitting with them and flattering them; but rather he should be a Mujaahid, a caller to the path of Allaah, a sincere adviser, enjoining good and forbidding evil. We ask Allaah for wellbeing”.

The Shaikh also stated: “By Allaah it is not even appropriate (or suitable) for some scholars to sit with ahlul ahwaa, because it may be that he has some knowledge, but he becomes shaky and weak in personality, so he strays through falsehood. By Allaah, there is an example of this in history about a people who deviated (in some affair) even though hey had knowledge. Secondly, the blazing hizbi or those specific blazing hizbiyyoon participate in an event that would aid the callers to Shirk and Bidah to strengthen their misguidance. Read here: The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [O Truthful Adherents to Salafiyyah In Stoke On Trent! Neither Participate Nor Spend a Penny In An Event That Will Aid Staunch Soofees to Strengthen Their Bidah and Misguidance]: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2022/09/02/6-the-affair-of-markaz-tawheed-o-truthful-adherents-to-salafiyyah-in-stoke-on-trent-neither-participate-nor-spend-a-penny-in-an-event-that-will-aid-staunch-soofees-to-strengthen-their-bidah-and-m/

Finally, we remind Markaz Tawheed that the proofs are overwhelming clear if only they desire the truth. May Allaah protect us from misguidance in this affair and return them to truth. To be continued…InShaaAllaah

7: Tashayyu: Listen here – By Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] regarding why Imaam Abdur Razzaaq [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was affected by something Tashayyu:

8: ilhaad: ilhaad: “Complete ilhaad” is to turn away from Islaam completely and that is Major ilhaad, which exits a person from the fold of Islaam, such as the ilhaad committed by communists, the idol worshippers and those similar to them. And Minor ilhaad does not exit a person from the Religion of Islaam, such as turning away from some actions. [10.3] What is Our Call? A Declaration From Masjid Al-Furqan and Masjid Abi Hurairah to Hizbiyyoon of Markaz Tawheed!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said: Salafiyyah is to follow the path of the Salafus Saaleh (pious predecessors) – the Sahaabah, the Taa’bi’een and the virtuous generations.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

[وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِينَ وَٱلۡأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡہُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ – And the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhaajiroon) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him].

And Allaah [The Most High] said about the Sahaabah:

[إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ بِأَمۡوَٲلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِہِمۡ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَواْ وَّنَصَرُوٓاْ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ بَعۡضُہُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٍ۬‌ۚ – Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allaah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, – these are (all) allies to one another [8:72] – up to His statement- [وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ مَعَكُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ مِنكُمۡ‌ۚ – And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allaah) they are of you]. [8:75 ]

Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections] said in Surah Al -Hashar:

And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allaah and to please Him. And helping Allaah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say); And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them.” [59:8-9]- up until His [The Most High] statement: [وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَٲنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِيمَـٰنِ – And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith].

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “This ummah will split into seventy three sects; all of them will enter the fire except one. They said, ‘Which is that (saved sects) O Messenger of Allaah? He replied, ‘Those who are upon that which I and my companions are upon today'”. The Prophet said, “Adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khulafaa after me”. (Refer to “Footnote A” about the seventy-two deviant sects and how to deal with them)

Therefore, Salafiyyah is the Methodology that has been obligated on us to follow and we are to abandon all other methodologies that are in opposition to it. The [people of salafiyyah] are the saved sect, Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah, and they are the aided group till the Day of Judgement. May Allaah include us amongst them. However, ascription to this methodology requires knowledge of its fundamentals in order that the Muslim may adhere to it. (One is) required to have knowledge of the other methodologies that are in opposition to Salafiyyah in order to avoid them. Therefore, Salafiyyah upon the path of the pious predecessors has to be [followed] upon knowledge and clear sightedness. It is not enough for the person to ascribe himself to [salafiyyah] whilst being ignorant of it or being in opposition to it. For that reason Allaah [The Most High] said:[ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ – And also those who followed them exactly (in Faith)]. They follow them with knowledge- they neither fall into extremism nor negligence. They neither exaggerate nor fail to give the affair its right- like those who ascribe themselves to the madhabs of the four imams [Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Shaa-fi’ee and Ahmad] whilst being in opposition to them in Aqeedah and Ibaadaat. And like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the Salaf, yet he either declares the Muslims to be disbelievers or rebels against the Muslim rulers, or he follows other directions towards extremism. This person is not a Salafi, rather he is named a khaariji or a Mutazili. Or like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the salaf, but speaks with the statement of the Mur’ji’a in the affair of Eemaan and Kufr. This is not salafiyyah. Therefore, it is obligatory to pay attention to this affair and not to mix the Salafi methodology with the other methodologies that are in opposition to it, and then say: ”all these methodologies [including the Salafi methodology] are not from Islaam.” This is recklessness in speech, an oppressive judgement and deception against the people. [10.2] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [A Principle Regarding Splitting, Takfeer, Tabdee and Cooperating With Ahlul Bidah!]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The following article is a further clarification regarding the stance of Masjid al-Furqan and Masjid Abi Hurairah regarding Splitting, Takfeer and Tabdee, so that both the Kharijites and proponents of Tamyee (footnote a) in Stoke On Trent understand that are not upon their path.

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ”The Jews were divided into seventy-one sects, one of which is in Paradise and seventy are in the Fire. The Christians were divided into seventy-two sects, seventy-one of which are in the Fire and one is in Paradise”.

By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, my Ummah will be divided into seventy-three sects, one of which will be in Paradise and seventy-two will be in the Fire”. It was said, “O Messenger of Allaah! Who are they?” He said, “Al-Jamaa’ah”.(1) In another narration, the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “My Ummah will divide into seventy-three sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamāʿah”. It was said, “And who are they, O Allāh’s Messenger?” He responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today”.(2)

Hafs Bin Humaid [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “I said to Abdullaah Ibnul Mubaarak [may Allaah have mercy upon him], ‘How many sects has this Ummah spilt into?’ So he said, ‘The foundation of the sects are four: The shia, the hurooriyyah (i.e. khawaarij), the qadariyyah and the murji’ah. The shia (further) split into twenty-two sects; the hurooriyyah (further) split into twenty-one sects; the qadariyyah (further) split into sixteen sects and the murji’ah (further) split into thirteen sects’”. [Al-Ibaanah of Ibn Battah 1/379-380]

Question to Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him]: What is the intent behind the Messenger’s ﷺ statement when he spoke about the Ummah in the hadith: “All of them (the sects) are in the fire except one” and what is that one?. Also, will all the other 72 (deviant) sects be in the fire for eternity? Benefit us.

The answer: The prophet ﷺ said, “The Jews split into 71 sects, meaning all of them are astray and their affair ruined, except one. The Christians split into 72 sects, meaning all of them are astray and their affair ruined, except one. And this Ummah will split into 73 sects- all of them in the fire, except one. This one group is Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah [those who firmly adhere to the authentic Prophetic Sunnah and are united upon that] – the companions of the Prophet and those who follow them exactly in faith, the adherents to pure Islamic monotheism and sound faith.

As for the other 72 sects that have been threatened with the fire, among them is one who is a disbeliever (footnote b), among them is one who is a sinner and among them is one about whom it is established with clear evidence that he is an innovator in religious affairs. So, the one – among them – that dies in a state of disbelief (footnote c) will be in the fire for eternity, the one that dies in a state of adherence to religious innovation that is lesser than major disbelief (footnote d) or sins is under the will of Allah, while still threatened with the fire. So, based on this it is known that not all of them are disbelievers, but rather among them is a disbeliever and other than him among the sinners and the innovators in religious affairs. (0.1)

Tabdee: (Declaring a Muslim An Innovator In Religious Affairs)

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee [rahimahullaah] was asked: Is there a difference between the verdict against a person that he is from Ahlul Bidah and the verdict that he is a Mubtadi [innovator in religious affairs]? And does the verdict against a person that he is not a Salafi or that he is a Hizbi necessitate that he is a Mubtadi? Can you please shed light on this affair?

Answer: Firstly, you should know that indeed Ahlus Sunnah are people who fear of Allaah. They neither make Takfeer [i.e. declare a person a disbeliever], Tafseeq [i.e. declare a person a sinner] and Tabdee [declare a person an innovator] except against the one who deserves it based on the evidences in the Book and the Sunnah, and the understanding of the pious predecessors of this Ummah.

Secondly, you should know that the people of desires and misguidance are (categorized into) those who are followed and those who follow. Indeed, those who are followed are the ones who set up the various principles of Bidah and call to their innovation in religion and misguidance, and they will carry their burden of sins and the burden of the sins of those whom they misguided without knowledge, as it is clearly stated in the Qur’aan and the Sunnah.

As for the followers of a leader from amongst the people of desires, then in most cases they are of two categories:
The First Category: Those who possess knowledge, but they harbour evil intentions, so they yield to Satan, desires and the urge of the evil soul. They follow the people of misguidance and oppose the callers to guidance (in that which) Allaah sent His Messenger Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] with.

The Second Category: Their share of knowledge is little, so the people of desires take advantage of them and they become members of their group. They convince them that what they call them to is the manifest truth and that what their opponents are upon is falsehood. And they convey to them a huge number of affairs that resemble the truth but are falsehood in reality, in order to deceive them and submerge them into misguidance. As for those who are followed-those who set up principles of bidah and call the people to their bidah and misguidance, then indeed they are marked with the bidah they innovated and call the people to, and for them there is no honour.

As for the followers of the people of desires, it is as I have stated that they are of two categories in most cases. They are to be called to the Sunnah and to cling to it, and that they reject the bidah they have been deceived by and have yielded to. And if they respond to the call of truth through knowledge and action, and reject that which the people of desires and innovation call them to, then this is what is desired and it is a praiseworthy aim. If they reject the advice of the advisers and bargain with falsehood at the expense of truth, and give preference to innovation over the Sunnah, then they deserve to be assigned the term Mubtadi [innovator]. (3) Read here: Shaikh Rabee: Establishment of Proof in Declaring a Person to be an Innovator: https://abukhadeejah.com/shaikh-rabee-establishment-of-proof-in-declaring-a-person-to-be-an-innovator/

Takfeer (Takfeer Declaring a Muslim to be Outside The Fold of Islam)

Footnote a: [Kharijites: http://www.kharijites.com/kj/ ] [Tamyee: http://www.salafiebooks.com/se/dld.cfm?a=wngwbh]

[Footnotes b and c]: NB: Takfeer – declaring that a Muslim left the fold of Islaam is a judgement that can only be given by the upright scholars and none else:  https://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/obkwf-takfir-and-the-excuse-of-ignorance-shaykh-saalih-al-fawzaan.cfm

[Footnote d]: NB: All religious innovations are evil, but there are those that will exit a person from the fold of Islaam (Bida’atul Mukaffirah) and those that do not exit a person from the fold of Islaam (Bida’atul Mufassiqah). Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] was asked whether there is a difference between Bidah Al-Mukaffirah and Bidah Al-Mufassiqah; so he replied that there is Bidah Mukaffirah, such as rejecting the Ruyah (i.e. denying that the believers will see Allaah in the afterlife); rejecting Allaah’s Uluww [i.e. denying that Allaah is above his creation –Allaah ascended over the Throne in a way that benefits his majesty)]; invoking other than Allaah; offering slaughtered sacrifice (i.e. animals) to other than Allaah etc. These are affairs of Bidah Al-Mukaffirah (the bidah that is tantamount to disbelief). But we do not make Takfeer of the people who commit this type of Bidah until we establish the proofs against them. That is because some of them (i.e. the people who fall into these affairs) carry doubts and are far away from the era of Prophethood and its light (i.e. guidance). So they fall into the likes these innovations. Rejecting the Ruyah is disbelief; rejecting Allaah’s Uluww is disbelief; the saying that the Qur’aan is created is disbelief-major disbelief. But this person, -[who testifies that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allaah, and he prays, observes fasting, wants paradise and believes in that] -received the doubts of the people of falsehood, so he falls into the likes of these affairs (i.e. these innovations that are tantamount to disbelief). So we say to him: You have fallen into disbelief and the evidence is this and this, and we clarify for him. So if Allaah grants him Tawfeeq and he returns to the truth, then all praise is due to Allaah. But if not, we declare him a disbeliever after establishing the proofs against him. As for Bidah Al-Mufassiqah it is other than this (i.e. it is not at the level of that which is tantamount to disbelief)…[A paraphrased excerpt. see http://www.rabee.net/ar/questions.php?cat=26&id=484 ]

Can Ahlus Sunnah Cooperate With Ahlul Bidah?

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah protect him] was asked: I heard in one of the Islamic channels from one of the thinkers, saying: “It is from wisdom to cooperate with Islamic groups against (secularism) and others”. Is this speech correct?”

Answer: No this is not correct! We do not cooperate with the people falsehood. We do not cooperate with the misguided sects, rather we cooperate with our brothers who are steadfast upon obedience to Allaah and with them upon the sound methodology. As for those who have deviated from the right path and the misguided ones, and those who oppose Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah, we do not cooperate with them, because this cooperation is tantamount to cooperation upon sin and transgression and a justification of what they are upon. https://video.link/w/cI81d

[10.1] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [A Principle Regarding Unity, Splitting and Cooperating With Ahlul Bidah]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Indeed, they (the people of the era of pre-Islaamic ignorance) divided into (sects) in their Religion, as Allaah (The Exalted) stated:

[كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡہِمۡ فَرِحُونَ – Each sect rejoicing in that which is with it] [Surah Ar-Rum. Aayah 32]

And likewise they were divided in their worldly affairs and they regarded that to be the right thing to do. So Allaah commanded Ijtimaa (unity and agreement) in the Religion, saying:

He (Allaah has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nýh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Mýsa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). [Surah Ash-Shuraa. Aayah 13]

And He [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَہُمۡ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعً۬ا لَّسۡتَ مِنۡہُمۡ فِى شَىۡءٍ‌ۚ

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you [O Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)] have no concern in them in the least. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 159]

And Allaah forbade us (Muslims) from being like them, saying:

[وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُواْ وَٱخۡتَلَفُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتُ‌ۚ – And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. [Surah Aal Imran. Aayah 105]

And Allaah forbade us (Muslims) from splitting into (sects) in the Religion, saying:

[وَٱعۡتَصِمُواْ بِحَبۡلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعً۬ا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُواْ‌ۚ – And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah, and be not divided among yourselves] [Surah Aal Imran. Aayah 103]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al- Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] stated in his explanation of the above statement:

This is the second affair of those affairs which the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was in opposition against the people of Al-Jaahiliyyah; and that is the people of Jaahiliyyah used to be divided in their Religious and worldly (affairs). Their (state of affairs) was characterized with splitting and differing, as He (Alaah) said:

وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِڪِينَ
مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمۡ وَڪَانُواْ شِيَعً۬ا‌ۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡہِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

And be not of Al-Mushrikun (the polytheists, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah). Of those who split up their religion and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid’ah), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it. [Surah Ar-Rum. Aayaat 31-32]

This is a characteristic of the people of the era of pre-Islaamic ignorance – amongst the Jews, Christians and idol worshippers. All the religions of the Pre-Islamic era of ignorance were upon this way- divided in their religion, and each of them had a religion they called to. The Christians called to Christianity and the Jews called to Judaism, and each of these two religions belied the religion of the other, as He (Allaah) said:

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 113]

The pagans are those ones who do not know, because they neither had a Book nor a religion revealed from the heavens, and they also belied and opposed each another. [فَٱللَّهُ يَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ – Allaah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing] [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 113]

Allaah has made known regarding who is upon truth and who is upon falsehood, and He will reward all according to their actions. Allaah’s Religion is one, as Allaah said: [وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ – And I (Allaah) created not the Jinn and Mankind except that they should worship Me (alone)] [Surah Adh-Dhaariyaat. Aayah 56]

And He (Allaah) said: [يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ – O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allaah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Muttaquun (pious)] [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 21]

Allaah’s Religion is one, and it is for all the creation- the Jew, the Christian, the idol worshipper, the Arab and the non Arab. Allaah’s Religion is One (Religion), and that is to worship Him Alone and not ascribe partners with Him in (worship). However, (the people of the era of Pre-Islamic Ignorance) divided their Religion, and each party had a Religion that was in opposition to that of the others. The Jews differed amongst themselves, the Christians differed, and they are upon this differing to this day. Likewise, the Pagan Arabs differed in their Ibaadah (acts of worship)- amongst them were those who worshipped the sun, there were those who worshipped the moon and those who worshipped idols, those who worshipped the Angels and those who worshipped the Awliyaa and the Saaliheen. And amongst them were those who worshipped trees and stones. This was the condition of the (people of the era of Pre-Islamic Ignorance) amongst the Ahlul kitaab (Jews and Christians) and the Ummiyyeen [the illiterates-(i.e. the pagan Arabs-who neither had a Book nor a religion revealed from the heavens)]. They were not united upon a (singular) religion, and were of (various parties); “Every sect rejoicing in that which is with it”.

This is an absolute trial and a punishment- a human being rejoicing in that which he is upon of misguidance. This is the opposite of that which is obligatory and that is the human being is to fear misguidance, deviation and destruction; however, the (people of the era of Pre-Islaamic Ignorance) were upon that which is opposite to this, “Every sect rejoicing in that which is with it”, without examining whether what they were upon is truth or falsehood. What was of importance is that (the path they followed) was the creed of their fathers, forefathers and close relatives, and they did not give importance as to whether it was truth or falsehood.

Therefore, it is punishment when a human being rejoices in falsehood, because when he rejoices in falsehood, he will not be able to escape from it. This is a characteristic of the people of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance and Allaah forbade us from that. He (Allaah) said:

And be not of Al- Mushrikin (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, idolaters, etc.). Of those who split up their religion (i.e. who left the true Islamic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid’ah), and followed their vain desires].

And He (Allaah) said:

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَہُمۡ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعً۬ا لَّسۡتَ مِنۡہُمۡ فِى شَىۡءٍ‌ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَمۡرُهُمۡ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُہُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allah, Who then will tell them what they used to do. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 159]

And He (Allaah) revealed to His Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), saying:

He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad ), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion).

This is what Allaah has legislated, and that is to establish the Religion- the religion of Nuh, Ibraahim, Musa, Isaa and Muhammad (may Allaah’s Peace and Blessings be upon all of them). These (five Messengers) have been mentioned because they are the best of all the Messengers. (They) are the Messengers of firm will – Nuh, Ibraahim, Musa, Isaa and Muhammad. Allaah took the covenant from all the Messengers and in particular from these five. He (Allaah) said: [وَإِذۡ أَخَذۡنَا مِنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مِيثَـٰقَهُمۡ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ۬ وَإِبۡرَٲهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ‌ۖ وَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُم مِّيثَـٰقًا غَلِيظً۬ا – And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad), and from Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), and ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). We took from them a strong covenant].

The Religion of all the Messengers is one, and that is to worship Allaah (Alone) and not associate partners with Him. This is the Religion of all the Messengers in general and that of the five (Messengers of firm will). Neither differing nor division is accepted (in this), and neither is it that everyone has his own religion nor that every group has its own religion; rather the Religion is One for everyone. It is the Religion of Allaah for all the creation.

And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)].

The Religion of all the Jinn and humankind must be one (Religion), and that is Tawheed and to single Allaah out in worship. The Messengers have clarified what Ibaadah (worship) is. It (ibaadah) is not (an affair) that is entrusted to the people; rather Books have been sent down to us, and Messengers have been sent to us, saying: “This is the Religion and this is Worship”.

It (worship and Religion) is Tawqeefiyyah (established through the Sharee-ah of Allaah). Religion is Tawqeefiy and it is not a right of the people to legislate religions; rather it is the Right of Allaah, and He is the One Who legislates the Religion. [ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شُرَڪَـٰٓؤُاْ شَرَعُواْ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا لَمۡ يَأۡذَنۢ بِهِ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ – Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed]

This is inkaar (rejection) from Him (Allah, i.e. against those who legislate besides that which Allaah has legislated in religion), because Religion is that which He has legislated and revealed in His Books and upon the tongue of His Messengers. Therefore, (Religion and Worship) is Tawqeefiy. The Messengers are only conveyers from Allaah – convey from Allaah what He has legislated for His servants. This is the job of the Messengers – they are followers of the Religion like others, slaves who worship Allaah with the Religion He has legislated for them and their nations.

And He (Allaah) said: [وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُواْ وَٱخۡتَلَفُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتُ‌ۚ وَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ۬ – And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment].

This is a prohibition that we do not become like the people of the era of pre-Islamic ignorance- those who split and differed. And this was not out of ignorance on their part; rather it was due to desires “After the clear proofs had come to them”. They abandoned the clear proofs and followed desires. It was desires that carried them towards splitting, followed their desires as gods besides Allaah. Allaah has not failed to establish the proof against anyone, He has sent the Messengers and revealed the Books:

Then whenever there comes to you guidance from me, and whoever follows my guidance, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve. But those who disbelieve and belie our Aayaat such are the dwellers of the fire, they shall abide therein forever.

Therefore, Allaah did not leave mankind (just like that) from the time Aadam landed on earth. He did not leave mankind without a Religion and a Prophet; rather He has not ceased sending Messengers in succession to legislate and explain the religion for the people, up until He finalised that with (the sending of Muhammad-sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), whose Religion will never be abrogated until the establishment of the hour, and its support is the Book (i.e. the Qur’an) and the Sunnah.

There has not been a period from the various periods, except that there was a Messenger who came with the Religion (ordained by) Allaah. ”And there never was a nation but a warner had passed among them” [35:24] “Messengers as bearers of good news as well as of warning in order that mankind should have no plea against Allah after the Messengers [4:165]. And no one has proof to say: “There came unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no warner” [5:19], because Allaah has established the proof against the creation. However, the people of the era of pre-islamic ignorance opposed not that which the Messengers came with out of ignorance, rather it was out of following desires, especially the Jews and the Christians, who were upon knowledge and awareness regarding that. And for that reason Allaah called them Ahlul Kitaab (The People Of The Scripture) from the angle of blame/censure. Indeed, they are People of the Scripture and People of Knowledge, but along with this they opposed the command of Allaah and followed their desires.

Allaah has prohibited this ummah from following this pre-Islamic path and commanded them to hold onto the religion which He revealed to His Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), and it is that (Religion/path) which the sahaabah of the Messenger and the Rightly guided Khulafaa followed. This is the Religion incumbent upon the Ummah to hold onto up until the establishment of the hour. And if the (ummah of Muhammad) differs on any affair, they are to refer it to the Kitaab (Qur’aan) and the Sunnah.

[فَإِن تَنَـٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِى شَىۡءٍ۬ فَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ‌ۚ – And if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day]

Differing is from human nature, but Allaah has directed us to the Kitaab and the Sunnah when we differ and know not which of us is upon correctness. We are to return to the Kitaab and the sunnah, and then take what the Kitaab and the Sunnah declares to be the truth and abandon what the (the Kitaab and the sunnah) declares to the other than the truth; because our objective is to follow the truth, and not to gain the upper hand through either opinions, exalting forefathers, ancestors or Shuyookh. This is not the concern of the Muslims. The truth is the desired goal of the Muslim and he takes it wherever he finds it. The objective is to (take) the truth, [ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ خَيۡرٌ۬ وَأَحۡسَنُ تَأۡوِيلاً – If you believe in Allaah and the last Day. That is better’ for you than being upon differing. ‘And that is better and more suitable for final determination’ – that is a better end result.

This is from the Mercy of Allaah upon us. He preserved within ourselves that which will stop differing and that which leads to the truth, and that is the Kitaab (The Qur’aan). And for that reason He (subhaanah) said: “And hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of Allaah”, and that is, “All of you” (should hold onto the Qur’aan), and not just some of you; rather all of you, all the creation and this Ummah (of Muhammad) in particular. “And be not divided among youselves, and remember Allaah’s favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His grace, you became breathen (in Islamic faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of fire, and He saved you from it”. [3:103]

“And you were on the brink of a pit of fire”, (upon the Religion of Pre-Islamic Ignorance) and “He (Allaah) saved you from it”. He saved you through Islaam and this Qur’aan. Therefore, remember Allaah’s Favour. And Holding onto the Rope of Allaah is to hold onto the Kitaab, because the Kitaab is the expansive Book of Allaah, which brings safety to the one who follows it and destruction to the one who slips away from it. This is from that which Allaah has related to us about the condition of the people of the era of pre-Islamic ignorance, that they split up their Religion (i.e. left the true Islamic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the Religion (Bid’ah), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it’ [30:32] Thereafter, Allaah forbade us from that (splitting) and from imitating them in that, and commanded us to hold onto His Book, which (brings) about Safety from splitting, differing and destruction.

There is no safety except through holding onto the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), “And hold fast, all of you together, to the rope of Allaah, and be not divided among yourselves”, because the people of the pre-islamic era of ignorance were divided in their Religion, as Allaah said, “Every sect rejoicing in that which is with it”. [30:32]

They were pleased with their paths, even when that happened to be falsehood. Likewise, they were divided in relation to managing their worldly affairs, because the one who is (hindered from guidance) in affairs of his Religion will be (hindered from guidance) in affairs of the worldly life. They were divided in the affairs of the worldly life and were not a united body; rather tribes ruled themselves, and each tribe declared lawful the blood and wealth of the other tribe.

[8] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [An Affair Blazing Hizbi or Those Specific Hizbiyyoon Hate to Hear About Refutations of Al-Allaamah Ahmad Bin Yahyah An-Najmi Against Shaikh Bin Jibrin]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The specific hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed wrote in their text – after mentioning a list of people we have abandoned: “This list can be stretched but it shows how these brothers busy themselves with excessively finding the faults of others in opposition to the methodology of the Salaf of this Ummah. A clear example of this is Abu Khadeejah declaring Shaykh Bakr Abu Zayd and Shaykh Ibn Jibreen to be from Ahlul Bidah due to some errors of theirs, this is the level of extremism he declares major scholars to be innovators. When Shaykh Rabee was asked about Shaikh Bakr Abu Zayd being an innovator, he said, “The one that forwards from me that I make tabdee on Bakr Abu Zayd then he is a liar”. [End of quote]

Response: The affair regarding Shaikh Bakr Abu Zayd [may Allaah have mercy upon him] will be discussed in post number 9.

Secondly, here is the affair regarding Shaikh Bin Jibreen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] and Al-Allaamah Ahmad Bin Yahyah An-Najmi [may Allaah have mercy upon him]:

The Shaikh, Ibn Jibreen got involved with the Qutubiyyah such as Salmaan al-Awdah in the Mis’ari affair (the setting up of CDLR). This changed his perceptions towards some of the Innovators such as Sayyid Qutb and Hassan al-Banna, making him think that they were scholars like the scholars of the past, like Ibn Hajr and an-Nawawi and their likes, who were from Ahl us-Sunnah but erred in certain areas. This whole farce (of al-Mis’ari, Doc. Fitnah) was lambasted by Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen who called it a route to evil and mischief and the likes. However, what is important is that the Shaikh’s involvement with these people influenced his outlook.

This led the Shaikh to find fault with Shaikh Rabee’ and his refutations of Sayyid Qutb and the Qutubiyyah – and led him to utter baseless statements against the Shaikh. Rather, the Shaikh opposed what the rest of the scholars, had unanimously agreed upon, which was the praise and commendation for Shaikh Rabee’ in his refutations and expositions of Sayyid Qutb, and also of the Qutubiyyah like Safar and Salman and others who raised the flag of extremist Irjaa’ towards the Mockers of the Messengers, Revilers of the Caliphs, Mukaffirs of the Companions and Utterers of statements of] Kufr and Apostasy. It also led the Shaikh to write letters to other scholars, such as the noble Shaikh, Ahmad bin Yahyaa an-Najmee, asking them not to write books in refutation of Hassan al-Banna and the defunct, bankrupt, brotherhood. The refutation of Shaikh Ahmad bin Yahyaa an-Najmee is the most powerful, and uses some harsh language (bearing in mind that the Shaikh is senior to Ibn Jibreen) in outlining the great injustice of Ibn Jibreen in his accusations.

The book is called “Radd ul-Jawaab ‘alaa Man Talaba Minnee ‘Adam Tab’ al-Kitaab” (The Return of the Reply To The One Who Requested Me Not To Print the Book). This is 40 pages long, in A4. Shaikh Ibn Jibreen had requested from the Shaikh that he does not print his most excellent work entitled “Al-Mawrid al-Adhb az-Zulaal Feemantuqida Alaa Ba’d al-Manaahij ad-Da’awiyyah Min al-‘Aqaa’id wal-A’maal” (The Cold Sweet [Flowing] Spring Water [That Quenches (the Thirst)] Concerning What Can Be Criticised Of Beliefs and Actions Of Some of the Methodologies of Da’wah).

This book is a detailed, reference-filled, authoritative refutation of the overall methodologies of Jamaa’at ut-Tabligh, and Ikhwaan ul-Muflisoon, with details of their history, founders, developments, deviations and many other issues. It also contains an excellent and detailed refutation of Hassan al-Bannaa and Muhammad Ilyaas, and their great deviations and heresies, and who were far astray from the aqeedah of the Salaf. The book is 340 pages in total. So Ibn Jibreen requested the Shaikh not to print this book, as he claimed that Shaikh Ahmad had wronged Hassan al-Bannaa.

So the Shaikh replied with a powerful reply, that needs nothing in addition to it, illustrating the baseless accusations of Ibn Jibreen, and establishing the heresies of Hassan al-Bannaa and his speaking with “wahdat ul-wujood”, and who uttered the Shirk Akbar in the form of poetical compositions, and his praise of the propounders of “wahdat ul-wujood”, and his statement that their is no religious dispute between the Muslims and the Jews, and his taking part in the gatherings at the tombs of Zainab and others, and his witnessing the Major Shirk with his own eyes and not rejecting it, and his travelling 20 miles to the graves of ad-Dasooqee and as-Sinjar and then returning a whole 20 miles, and his efforts to unite between the Sunnis and the Raafidah Shi’ah, and his enacting the bay’ah and calling people to make bay’ah, and to request obedience (that is only given to the wali ul-amr of the Muslims), and his tafweedh of the Attributes of Allaah, the most wicked of all of the sayings of the negators of the Attributes and much more. The Shaikh finishes by asking Ibn Jibreen 25 questions which he ought to answer, about the so called good effects of Hassan al-Bannaa.

[7] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [After Reality Behind Shaikh Wasiyullaah’s Views Were Unveiled In Doubts Around Dawah (Audio 9), Blazing Hizbiyyoon Parroted Statements of Another Shaikh Fulaan Without An Atom’s Weight of Evidence]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The blazing hizbi or those specific hizbiyyoon stated: “Shaykh Saalih bin Sa’d as-Suhaymee said, “Some of them talk to you like if they are Yahya ibn Ma’een (one of the greatest scholars of Islam from the salafi) or Ahmad ibn Hanbal! We see that some students, due to their weak taqwa (fear Allah), have nothing else to do than speaking about people (i.e. speaking about other salafis – laymen, students of knowledge and even scholars). Despite their limited knowledge which they possess. They have appointed themselves as scholars of al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel (criticism and praise)! They have filled the garbage dump (i.e. the internet) with it! By this they have neither caused victory for Islam, nor pulled down (weakened) the disbelievers, nor are they of benefit to the Ummah!”

If this is a statement of Shaikh Saaleh As-Suhaymi, then we simply say to the hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed as follows:

Point 1: One does not have to be Imaam Yahyah Bin Ma’een or Imaam Ahmad to enjoin good and forbid evil. Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri [may Allaah protect him] said: The one who knows of a mistake and it is clear to him, then it is not permissible for him to blindly follow a scholar to whom an affair is hidden. And indeed you already heard yesterday that the scholars are not infallible in their Ijtihaadaat. Therefore, it is not permissible to adopt them (i.e. the mistakes of the scholars) as a methodology (to follow). A scholar from Ahlus Sunnah is only a human; he can be distracted and forgetful; he can be deceived by evil people; or he used to consider that man to be trustworthy–who has now been declared untrustworthy–and he deceives him. The witnesses to this affair are many, because many of those whose status has been dropped– due to been declared unreliable based on evidence–are in reality people who wage war against the Sunnah and its people. So they come along with copies of their books and read it to the distinguished scholars–those whom virtue and leadership is witnessed for them in the religion–and the affair of this trickster and plotter is hidden from that noble scholar, which had he known about it the status of this person would have dropped in his eyes. So this scholar gives praise based on what he heard. And if the book (of this trickster) is printed, it is disseminated and transmitted by his supporters and they spread a good reputation about him. Thus there are those who argue saying, “such and such praised him–Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah), or Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah), or Ibn Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) praised this book. However these scholars are excused; rather this trickster was hidden from that scholar. So, what remains? We establish the evidence against this [deceiver, trickster, intrigant and plotter] from his books. We establish the manifest clarifications against him from his books, and we say to the one who argues with us, “Take it, this is his speech.’’ Therefore, it is obligatory on you to be fair, and to be free from that wild and zealous attachment; and to be free from desires that blind a person. It is obligatory upon you that your search should be for the truth. (1)

Point 2: Speaking against people based on lies is what is blameworthy but not when evil is warned against with clear proofs. All the people spoken against and abandoned are guilty of that which warranted such warning, such as the likes of Al-Halabi, Al-Maribi, Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli, Yahyah Al-Hajuri, Saalim At-Taweel and their ilk. However, despite all that has been presented above, the blazing hizbiyyoon still cling to the statement: “They have appointed themselves as scholars of al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel (criticism and praise)! They have filled the garbage dump (i.e. the internet) with it! By this they have neither caused victory for Islam, nor pulled down (weakened) the disbelievers, nor are they of benefit to the Ummah!” So, we say to them, “Were Salafipublications filling the garbage dump when they exposed Tahir and his ilk, or is it that Tahir is the one with a manhaj resembling a garbage dump?!” As for the statement, “By this they have neither cause victory for Islaam….”, we say to them, “Here is a gift for you O blazing hizbiyyoon: Shaikh Rabee’s Advice on Dealing with Ahlul-Bid’ah in the West and the affair of Al-Mawāzanāt: https://abukhadeejah.com/shaikh-rabees-advice-on-interacting-with-ahlul-bidah-in-the-west/

[6] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed: [O Truthful Adherents to Salafiyyah In Stoke On Trent! Neither Participate Nor Spend a Penny In An Event That Will Aid Staunch Soofees to Strengthen Their Bidah and Misguidance]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The blazing hizbi or those specific blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz at-Tawheed stated “If cooperating with non-Muslims is permitted (i.e. in some cases), then cooperation with those less than them is permitted if done for a Sharee’ah purpose!”

Firstly, we remind those specific individuals at Markaz Tawheed that Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Adhering to (erroneous or false analogies), whilst (deliberately) turning away from the texts of the (Sharee’ah) and the narrations of (the Salaf) is a path of ahlul bidah”. [Majmoo Al-Fataawaa 7/392]

Therefore, they should be very careful lest this crime mentioned by Shaikhul Islaam becomes their distinguished path in many other affairs. May Allaah protect us and our families from this evil Aameen.

Secondly, Shaikh Nizaar Ibn Hishaam [may Allaah preserve him] was asked: The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said about the Fudul Alliance, “If I had been called, I would have answered them”. What is the rebuttal against those who use this as evidence to cooperate with ahlul bidah? What is your answer to this doubt? May Allaah reward you with good.

Answer: “The rebuttal is from various angles: The response of the Prophet is due to the good found in the affair and not because they (i.e. those people) were good people. This is similar to the general covenants with the unbelievers that do not contradict Islam, such as covenants of security and peace, borders and international requirements related to travel, movement and representation (diplomatic), which preserves the organisation of public life and the lives of Muslims, such as the Treaty of Hudaybiyah. This is interaction and cooperation for the sake of the interests of Muslims and their religion, the interests of the unbelievers so that the Muslims are safe from their evil and an opportunity to invite them to Islam. As for ahlul bidah, (see footnote a) then indeed their danger and evil is greater than the harm of the unbelievers. The unbelievers – due to their apparent disbelief – pose a danger against the lives of the Muslims, their wealth and morals; but as for ahlul bidah, they destroy the very core, (sound) principles and rituals of Islam in the name of Islam. This (statement of the Prophet) was at the beginning of Islam, then it was abandoned. It is established in Sahih Muslim that “There is no alliance (hilf) in Islam”, if what we mean by this is alliances between Muslims, because Islam (already) gathered all good for its adherents. And if what we mean by it is the (alliance and co-operation) between Muslims and others, then it is permissible for that which does not contradict and oppose Islam, such as reconciliation with them and covenants, as we have mentioned”. [End of quote] [1]

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “There is no alliance (hilf) in Islam but (the hilf) established in the pre-Islamic days (for good). Islam intensifies and strengthens it” [Saheeh Muslim Number 2530] Imaam an-Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “There is no alliance in Islam, meaning, alliance upon that which the Sharee’ah has forbidden”. [Sharh Saheeh Muslim. Vol 16. page 67]

Shaikh Nizaar continues….. Indeed, with regards to what the Salafis are upon – by the grace of Allaah upon them – of adherence to the true Sharee'ah, (they) are completely not in need of others, such as ahlul bidah. The proofs are with the Salafis originally and rebutting everyone who opposes them, so why cooperate with ahlul bidah?! Indeed, the pious predecessors did not carry an understanding that is similar to this misunderstanding, and likewise those scholars who followed their path; rather, they were all upon other than this (act of cooperating with ahlul bidah). They warned against them and rebuked them. Their stance against ahlul bidah in their books is known as (clear as the) sun and their history is a written witness. [Read here: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2022/08/27/from-statements-of-the-imaams-regarding-obligation-of-hating-and-detesting-ahlul-bidah-by-shaikh-khaalid-adh-dhufayri-part-1/

This (i.e. cooperating with ahlul bidah) contradicts the principles of Islam, such as the principle: “Preventing corruption takes precedence over bringing benefits”. Likewise, what Islam calls to with regards to preserving and preservation of the religion is pure and pristine. Therefore, let them give us one proof from the Dawah and history of the pious predecessors – in their era – regarding this so called co-operation with ahlul bidah. They (i.e. pious predecessors said, “The Jamaa’ah is what agrees with the truth, even if you are alone”. Indeed, the situation bears witness to what has been stated. Whoever fell into this cooperation – among those who attributed to the Sunnah – became corrupted and not rectified; deceived and did not establish anything except bidah and its adherents; mixed up the affairs, entered the ranks of those who harbour ulterior motives and those who sneak in to fulfil their goals. So, what good came out of this?! Rather, it was a reason for confounding truth with falsehood, took away a group of the Ummah’s youth from the truth, its scholars and group. This (i.e. co-operating with ahlul bidah) contradicts the clear text [i.e. the hadeeth in (Saheeh Al-Jaami 2994) which the Prophet advised us that when there is neither a Muslim ruler nor group upon the truth], “Separate yourself from all these groups though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state”. Final observations

Observation 1: Shaikh Nizaar [may Allaah preserve him] stated: “This (i.e. cooperating with ahlul bidah) contradicts the principles of Islam, such as the principle: “Preventing corruption takes precedence over bringing benefits”. Likewise, what Islam calls to with regards to preserving and preservation of the religion is pure and pristine”. [End of quote]

Markaz Tawheed and those other Masaajid participating in the event are aiding the Soofees of Markazi Jamia Ghausia and this assistance – without a doubt – will strengthen their bidah, so how can this deed of theirs be considered a beneficial purpose in the name of Sharee’ah?! Rather, they are facilitating the means to strengthening the bidah of the Soofees.

See below Soofees of Markazi Jamia Ghausia Celebrating The BIdah of Mawlid- The Ones Markaz Tawheed Has Joined to Help Raise Funds

Observation 2: This deed of Markaz Tawheed – aiding the Soofees to raise funds for their bidah is a dangerous affair in the sight of Allaah. May Allaah protect us from this calamity and turn them away from it before it leads to something more disastrous. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said, “Whoever starts a good thing and is followed by others, he will have his own reward and a reward equal to that of those who follow him, without it detracting from their reward in any way. Whoever starts a bad thing  and is followed by others, will bear the burden of his own sin and a burden equal to that of those who follow him, without it detracting from their burden in any way”. [Reported by al-Tirmidhi, no. 2675]

Observation 3: Markaz Tawheed joins others to encourage people to spend their wealth in a manner that would strengthen the Bidah and falsehood of the soofees. Indeed, one’s wealth should not be spent to aid others to strengthen their corruption, otherwise such deed would be tantamount to ingratitude. Allaah [The Most High] said:

In order that you may mount on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: “Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!”

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Mentioned in this Aayah are the three pillars of gratitude and they are: acknowledgement of Allaah’s blessings, proclaim and speak about Allaah’s blessings, submit to Allah and utilise these blessings to carry out acts of worship for the sake of Allaah (alone). That is because the intent behind the statement of Allah: [وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ – And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return] is an acknowledgement of recompense and make preparations for it. The objective behind these favours is that they are an aid by way of which the slave (seeks) to fulfil that which Allah has commanded him (i.e. acts of worship and obedience etc)

And regarding Allaah’s saying: [ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا اسْتَوَيْتُمْ – And then may remember the favour of your Lord when you mount thereon], this is a specific mention of the (favour) in that at the time in which the person enjoys those favours because blessings intoxicates many amongst the creation, makes them heedless, evil and ungrateful. Therefore, this state in which Allah commanded (a person to remember Him for His Favours) is a medication for this destructive ailment. When the person recalls that he is completely surrounded by the blessings of Allah and that nothing is from him (or herself), but rather blessings are (from Allah) – its means are facilitated and its obtainment made easy (by Allaah), he (she) submits to Allah, humbles him (or herself), thanks and Praises Allaah. And by way of this he (or she) is given continuous blessings. (3)

Footnote a: The two types of Bidah: Bida’atul Mukaffirah and Bida’atul Mufassiqah: Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] was asked whether there is a difference between Bidah Al-Mukaffirah and Bidah Al-Mufassiqah; so he replied that there is Bidah Mukaffirah, such as rejecting the Ruyah (i.e. denying that the believers will see Allaah in the afterlife); rejecting Allaah’s Uluww [i.e. denying that Allaah is above his creation –Allaah ascended over the Throne in a way that benefits his majesty)]; invoking other than Allaah; offering slaughtered sacrifice (i.e. animals) to other than Allaah etc. These are affairs of Bidah Al-Mukaffirah (the bidah that is tantamount to disbelief); but we do not make Takfeer of the people who commit this type of Bidah until we establish the proofs against them. That is because some of them (i.e. the people who fall into these affairs) carry doubts and are far away from the era of Prophethood and its light (i.e. guidance). So they fall into the likes these innovations. Rejecting the Ruyah is disbelief; rejecting Allaah’s Uluww is disbelief; the saying that the Qur’aan is created is disbelief-major disbelief; but this person -[who testifies that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allaah, and he prays, observes fasting, wants paradise and believes in that] -received the doubts of the people of falsehood, so he falls into the likes of these affairs (i.e. these innovations that are tantamount to disbelief). So we say to him, “You have fallen into disbelief and the evidence is this and this, and we clarify for him”. So if Allaah grants him Tawfeeq [i.e. blesses him with knowledge and to act] and he returns to the truth, then all praise is due to Allaah; but if not, we declare him a disbeliever after establishing the proofs against him. As for Bidah Al-Mufassiqah it is other than this (i.e. it is not at the level of that which is tantamount to disbelief)…[ http://www.rabee.net/ar/questions.php?cat=26&id=484 .paraphrased] NB: Takfeer: [i.e. expelling a Muslim from the fold of Islam] is the job of the upright scholars of Islaam. [5] The Affair of Markaz Tawheed (Stoke On Trent) – [Four Brief Observations On Their Desperate Tactics In Defamation That We’re Lacking in Al-Walaa Wal Baraa]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “If anyone’s intercession intervenes as an obstacle to one of the punishments prescribed by Allah, he has opposed Allah; if anyone disputes knowingly about something which is false, he remains in the displeasure of Allah till he desists, and if anyone makes an untruthful accusation against a Muslim, he will be made by Allah to dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from the inhabitants of Hell till he retracts his statement”. [Saheeh Abu Dawud. Number 3597]

The blazing hizbi or those specific blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed wrote: “There is a principle that was mentioned above of loving and hating for the sake of Allah. This means loving the Muslims and Islam and hatred of that which is in opposition to it. This seems to be lacking from these brothers, let me explain. Shaykh Albani talks about when Muslims are under attack from secularists then how one should cooperate and not refute the Islamic Jamaahs as it will strengthen the secularists – some may agree or disagree with this. But these brothers rather go to opposite end and refute other Muslims using terminology that will draw the intention of the media, government and intelligence organisations. Is this how one behaves with his Muslim brethren, resulting in Mosques upon Tawheed been investigated by the Security services because of their slander. Shaykh Wasiullah Abbas warned Abu Khadeejah about this behaviour and he said this is very dangerous and he should know that this kind of behaviour then Allah will finish it with you. And now we see that this same individual has been blacklisted by the DfE for extremism and intolerance”. [End of quote]

Observation 1: In the above text, they falsely accused the Salafiyyoon of lacking sound Walaa Wal Baraa [Love and hating for the sake of Allaah]! Firstly, we remind them that the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “If anyone disputes knowingly about something which is false, he remains in the displeasure of Allah till he desists, and if anyone makes an untruthful accusation against a Muslim, he will be made by Allah to dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from the inhabitants of Hell till he retracts his statement”. [Saheeh Abu Dawud. Number 3597]

Observation 2: They stated, “This (i.e. loving and hating for the sake of Allaah) means loving Muslims and Islam and hatred of that which is in opposition to it”.

So, here we elaborate on this statement in order to make known what our stance is regarding Al Walaa Wal Baraa- [Love and hate For The Sake of Allaah].

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said to his father and his people: “Verily, I am innocent of what you worship, except Him (i.e. I worship none but Allah Alone) Who did create me, and verily, He will guide me.” And he made it [i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone)] a Word lasting among his offspring (True Monotheism), that they may turn back (i.e. to repent to Allah or receive admonition). [Surah Az-Zukhruf 26-28]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

قَالَ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُڪُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ
فَإِنَّہُمۡ عَدُوٌّ۬ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

He [Ibraaheem] said: “Do you observe that which you have been worshipping – you and your ancient fathers? Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)”. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. 75-77]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Say (O Muhammad ): “What thing is the most great in witness?” Say: “Allah (the Most Great!) is Witness between me and you; this Qur’an has been revealed to me that I may therewith warn you and whomsoever it may reach. Can you verily bear witness that besides Allah there are other aliha (gods)?” Say “I bear no (such) witness!” Say: “But in truth He (Allah) is the only one Ilah (God). And truly I am innocent of what you join in worship with Him.” [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 19]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Say (O Muhammad) to these Mushrikun and Kafirun): “O Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc.)! I worship not that which you worship, Nor will you worship that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping. Nor will you worship that which I worship. To you be your religion, and to me my religion (Islamic Monotheism)”. [Surah Al-Kaafiroon]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Verily, your Wali (Protector or Helper) is Allah, His Messenger, and the believers, – those who perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, and they bow down (submit themselves with obedience to Allah in prayer). And whosoever takes Allah, His Messenger, and those who have believed, as Protectors, then the party of Allah will be the victorious.[Surah Al-Maa’idah 55-56]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, this Qur’an, and Muhammad ), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad ) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allah your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray, (away) from the Straight Path. [Surah Al-Mumtahina. Aayah 1]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

You see many of them taking the disbelievers as their Auliya’ (protectors and helpers). Evil indeed is that which their ownselves have sent forward before them, for that (reason) Allah’s Wrath fell upon them and in torment they will abide. And had they believed in Allah, and in the Prophet (Muhammad ) and in what has been revealed to him, never would they have taken them (the disbelievers) as Auliya’ (protectors and helpers), but many of them are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). [Surah Al-Maa’idah. 80-81]

Abu Umamah [may Allaah be pleased with him] said: Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: ”Whoever loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah has perfected the faith”. [Saheeh Sunan Abee Daawud 4681]

The People In Relation to This Subject Matter Are Three Categories

The first category are those given specific love and allegiance, such as the Prophets, the righteous, the matryes etc. The second category of people are those who are not given any allegiance, such as the idolator, the hypocrite, the heretic , the apostate and other than them. The third category are those given allegiance from one agle and not from another angle, such as the open sinners – those whose sins have not removed them from the fold of Islam. They are shown loyalty due to their islam and disavowal due to their sins, but this disavowal is not similar to the one directed at a disbeliever in Allaah and his final Messenger; rather the love they receive necessitates that they are advised, commanded to do good and forbidden from evil. And the disavowal shown to them necessitates that they may be boycotted and the righteous people do not attend their funerals.

Alliance with the disbelievers is of two types: The alliance that will remove a person from the fold of islam- becomes a disbeliever after being a Muslim, and this is called At-Tawallee. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya’ to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya’, then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers and unjust). [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 51]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

You (O Muhammad ) will not find any people who believe in Allah and the Last Day, making friendship with those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad ), even though they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their kindred (people). For such He has written Faith in their hearts, and strengthened them with Ruh (proofs, light and true guidance) from Himself. And We will admit them to Gardens (Paradise) under which rivers flow, to dwell therein (forever). Allah is pleased with them, and they with Him. They are the Party of Allah. Verily, it is the Party of Allah that will be the successful. [Surah Al-Mujaadilah. Aayah 22]

The precise principle regarding this loyalty and allegiance is when a person loves and supports the religion of the disbelievers and their creed. Whoever loves a disbeliever due to his religion or creed, or helps a disbeliever due to his religion or creed, then indeed he has fallen into this type of (forbidden) loyalty and allegiance, which would nullify his Islaam and by way of which his deeds are nullified.

The second type of loyalty is related to dealing with them in trade, visiting them and they visit you, giving gifts to one another etc This does not remove a person from the fold of Islam, rather at times it is permissible, such as being kind to a disbeliever who is not at war with the Muslim state, just as Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity. [Surah Al-Mumtahina. Aayah 8]

And at other times, this loyalty is forbidden, such as imitating their specific traits [i.e. either their un-Islamic customs or specific clothing, appearance, behaviour related to their religion]. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ”Whoever imitates a people is from them”.

Sometimes this loyalty is recommended such as being kind to a disbeliever to draw his heart to Islaam and calling him to Islam, and at other times this loyalty is obligatory, such as kind treatment to non-Muslim parents. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination. But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do. [Surah Luqmaan. 14-15]

Sometimes this loyalty is disliked, such as when a Muslim employs a non-Muslim servant even though there is a Nuslim to suffice him. These two types of loyalty are found in the statement of Allaah:

Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity. It is only as regards those who fought against you on account of religion, and have driven you out of your homes, and helped to drive you out, that Allah forbids you to befriend them. And whosoever will befriend them, then such are the Zalimun (wrong-doers those who disobey Allah). [Sural Al-Mumtahina.8-9]

This Aayah includes the two types of loyalty and also bearing in mind that those who fight us in affairs of religion and expel us from our homes – those at war with us, there is no hindrance in making peace and signing a truce with them if the Muslim ruler sees the need to do so, just as the Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] did with the Quraish disbelievers during the treaty of Hudaibiyah. A Muslim Can Help a Disbeliever Without Intending to Aid The Disbeliever’s Religion or Creed

Prophet Musa [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] helped the disbeliever who was from his nation against a person from the people of Firawn. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And he entered the city at a time of unawareness of its people, and he found there two men fighting, – one of his party (his religion – from the Children of Israel), and the other of his foes. The man of his (own) party asked him for help against his foe, so Musa (Moses) struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: “This is of Shaitan‘s (Satan) doing, verily, he is a plain misleading enemy.” [Surah Al-Qasas. Aayah 15] [Al-Walaa Wal Baraa. pages 1-14. The Ruling On Deviant Sects That Ascribe to Islaam and How to Deal With Them

This one group is Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’a [those who firmly adhere to the authentic Prophetic Sunnah and are united upon that] – the companions of the Prophet and those who follow them exactly in faith, the adherents to pure Islamic monotheism and sound faith.

As for the other 72 sects that have been threatened with the fire, among them is one who is a disbeliever (ref a), among them is one who is a sinner and among them is one about whom it is established with clear evidence that he is an innovator in religious affairs. So, the one – among them – that dies in a state of disbelief (ref b) will be in the fire for eternity, the one that dies in a state of adherence to religious innovation that is lesser than major disbelief (ref c) or sins is under the will of Allah, while still threatened with the fire. So, based on this it is known that not all of them are disbelievers, but rather among them is a disbeliever and other than him among the sinners and the innovators in religious affairs. (1)

The Stance of The Salafi Towards Ahlul Bidah and Tabdee

Hudhaifah Bin al Yamaan [radiyallaahu anhu] said: ‘’People used to ask the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] about the good times, but I used to ask him about bad times fearing lest they overtake me. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! We were in a state of pre-Islamic ignorance and evil, and then Allaah brought us this good [time through Islam], is there any evil time after this good one?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I asked, ‘Will there be a good time again after that evil?’ He said, ‘Yes, but therein will be a hidden evil.’ I asked, ‘What will be the evil hidden therein?’ He said, ‘[That time will witness the rise of] the people who will follow ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know [their] good points as well as [their] bad points.’ I asked, ‘Will there be an evil time after this good one?’ He said, ‘Yes. [A time will come] when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whosoever responds to their call they will throw them into the fire.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! Describe them for us.’ He said, ‘They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! What do you suggest if I happen to live in that time?’ He said, ‘You should stick to the main body of the Muslims and their leader.’ I said, ‘If they have no [such thing as the] main body and have no leader?’ He said, ‘Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees [in a jungle] until death comes to you and you are in this state.’’’ [Bukhari and Muslim…. The wording of the above is that of Imaam Muslim]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said: This honourable Sahaabi does not stop asking the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] questions that contain great benefits for the ummah. He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] replied: ‘’Separate yourself from all these factions though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state.’’ In this is evidence [that one is to abandon] all the groups that are in opposition to that which the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] came with, and that which the Salaf of this ummah and their Imaams were upon, and that which the Jamaa’ah of the Muslims are upon.

When the Jamaa’ah [i.e. the group upon truth] of the Muslims is no longer (present) wa-laa-hawla-walaa-quwwata-illaa-billaah, then what should the Muslim do? He should isolate himself from all these sects, because they are all deviated sects and callers to the gates of hell fire. He should adhere to the Jamaa’ah of the Muslims if he finds them, and if not, then isolate yourself even if you are alone. Be firm upon the truth even if you are alone, and that is why it is said, ”The Jamaa’ah is the one upon the truth even if he is alone”. This is the Jamaa’ah, and the Jamaa’ah is not the numerous groups; rather it the one upon the truth, ‘’though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state.’’

In this is evidence that what is given consideration are one’s FINAL ACTIONS. Indeed, the one who isolates himself from trials, stays firm upon the truth and exercises patience when facing trials until death comes to him in this state, then indeed he will be from the people of Paradise [InShaaAllaah]. And the one upon whom death comes to whilst he has changed and substituted (the truth, his religion etc) and followed the callers to misguidance, then indeed he will be from the people of hell fire [i.e. if he leaves the fold of Islaam; but if he dies upon other than major shirk or kufr, he is left under the will of Allaah, who will either punish or forgive him]. (2)

Ibn Abbaas [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said: “Do not sit with the people of desires [i.e. ahlul bidah], for indeed sitting with them will cause sickness to the hearts”. [Al-Ibaanah 2/438]

Shu’aib [may Allaah have mercy upon him] narrated, “I said to Ibn Seereen, ‘What is your view concerning listening to the people of desires (i.e. ahlul bidah)?’ He said, ‘We neither listen to them nor honour (them)’”. [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 4/611]

Imaam Sufyaan Ath-thawri [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The one who sits with a person of innovation is not safe from one of three [calamities]: [a] Either he becomes a trial for other than himself; [b] or something of [misguidance] enters into his heart, and thus he slips by way of that and Allaah enters him into the hell fire; [3] or he says: ”By Allaah, I don’t care what they say because I am sure of myself”, but whoever feels safe about his religion [without Allaah’s guidance, protection etc] in the twinkling of an eye, it will be snatched away from him”. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said: O my brothers! Should we (not establish the principle of) love and hate for the sake of Allaah (in our relationship with) ahlul bidah?! Should we (not establish the principle of) love and hate for the sake of Allaah (in our relationship with) them, and is that not the strongest handhold of Eemaan?! Everyone of you knows what the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] stated, “The strongest handhold of Eemaan is love for the sake of Allaah and hate for the sake of Allaah”. Have we established what this hadeeth necessitates in the correct manner?! By Allaah, I see that love [or allegiance] – in most cases – is given to ahlul bidah and in most cases many people show enmity to Ahlus Sunnah! This is something that occurs a lot, so you -O brothers – give excuses to those who fall into the snares of those misguided people to such an extent that no more excuses [can be given to them]; however, after clarification [has been given], then the proofs have been established against them. Rebuke Against The Modernists- Those Who Seek to Alter The Sharee’ah Terms

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] says, “Indeed, Allaah created [Jinn and humankind] and gave them an innate disposition to recognize Tawheed, obey Him and worship Him alone; but they differed – some of them believed and others disbelieved. Allaah said: [هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمۡ فَمِنكُمۡ ڪَافِرٌ۬ وَمِنكُم مُّؤۡمِنٌ۬‌ۚ – He it is Who created you, then some of you are disbelievers and some of you are believers].

Allaah wishes Eemaan and well-being for them, but shaytaan and the callers to evil wish disbelief and evil for them.
Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Allaah wishes to make clear (what is lawful and what is unlawful) to you, and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allaah is All-Knower, All-Wise. Allaah wishes to accept your repentance, but those who follow their lusts, wish that you (believers) should deviate tremendously away from the Right Path.’ [4:26-27]

And due to this, Allaah sent the Messengers, revealed the Books and established His Proofs; so, there are those amongst humankind who accept the truth and embrace Eemaan by choice, and there are those who reject the truth and embrace disbelief by choice. Indeed, Allaah has laid down the differences between the Muminoon and the Kaafiroon in this life and the next, and He forbade that the two groups are made equal. Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] has set out recompense and judgment for each of the two groups in this life and the next. He has given a distinguished name to every group; such as [Mumin – believer], [Kaafir- disbeliever], [Barrun- upright/righteous one], [Faajir – evildoer], [Mushrik- Polytheist], [Muwahhid- Monotheist], [Faasiq- sinner], [Munaafiq- hypocrite], [Mutee’un – an obedient one] and [Aasee- a disobedient one]. And He [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] forbade that equality is made between these differing names and attitudes. Allaah said:[أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجۡتَرَحُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجۡعَلَهُمۡ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ-Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah Islaamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds]. [45:2]

And Allaah said: [ أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ كَٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ كَٱلۡفُجَّارِ – Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidoon (those who associate partners in worship with Allaah and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqoon (the pious ones), as the Fujjaar (criminals, disbelievers, wicked, etc)’ [38:28]- meaning: We have not made them equal because that does not befit Allaah’s Justice.

Should we abandon the words [Kufr, Shirk, Kuffaar and Mushrikeen] found in the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Books of Islaamic creed? This will be a violation of the Book and the Sunnah, and an opposition to Allaah and His Messenger. By changing the real meanings of the Sharee’ah terms, we will be from those who distort the Book of their Lord and the Sunnah of their Messenger. Then what defence can be given for [such a deed]- is it to please the Kuffaar? The disbelievers will never be pleased with us until we abandon our religion. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَلَن تَرۡضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلۡيَہُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَہُمۡ‌ۗ – Never will the Yahood nor the Nasaaraa be pleased with you [O Muhammad Peace be upon him] till you follow their religion]. [2:120]

Allaah said: [ وَدُّواْ لَوۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءً۬‌ۖ – They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another)'[4:89] And if the intention of those who call for the substitution of the Sharee’ah terminologies is to show gentleness to the kuffaar and to have good dealings with them, then this cannot be [done] by changing such sharee’ah terminologies; rather it can only be [done] through what Allaah has legislated regarding their affair. This comprises of the following affairs:

1.To invite them to Islaam, which is the religion Allaah has ordained for all of humankind. Allaah said:

[ٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ وَٱلۡمَوۡعِظَةِ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ‌ۖ وَجَـٰدِلۡهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحۡسَنُ‌ۚ – Invite (mankind, O Muhammad) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islaam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur’aan) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. [16:125] Therefore, we invite them (to Islaam) for their rectification and happiness in this life and the next.

2.To make peace with them if they seek that. Allaah said: [وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلۡمِ فَٱجۡنَحۡ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ – But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allaah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” [8:61]

Likewise, to make peace with them if the Muslims are in need of making peace, and when there is an overriding benefit for the Muslims in making peace; just as the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) made peace with the kuffaar at Hudaibiyyah. And by virtue of peace, diplomacy is (established) between them and the Muslims.

3.Not to be hostile towards them without due right. Allaah said:

[وَلَا يَجۡرِمَنَّڪُمۡ شَنَـَٔانُ قَوۡمٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُواْ‌ۚ ٱعۡدِلُواْ هُوَ أَقۡرَبُ لِلتَّقۡوَىٰ‌ۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ – And let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allaah]. [5:8]

4.To behave well towards those of them who behave well towards the Muslims; those who neither kill nor drive Muslims out of their homes. Allaah said:

Allaah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allaah loves those who deal with equity. [60:8]

5: To have permissible beneficial dealings with them; in trade, exchange of beneficial information and utilization of the worldly sciences, and things that are of benefit in our lives.

6: To fulfil contacts made with them, and to honour the blood, wealth and rights of the Mu’aahideen (i.e. those non-Muslims who have a treaty with the Muslims) because it is binding upon them to (fulfil their covenants with the Muslims) and the Muslims are to (fulfil their covenants with them). Allaah said: [فَمَا ٱسۡتَقَـٰمُواْ لَكُمۡ فَٱسۡتَقِيمُواْ لَهُمۡ‌ۚ – So long, as they are true to you, stand you true to them]. 9:7

And the ones forbidden to be killed are the Muslim and the Mu’aahid [i.e. the non-Muslim who has a treaty with the Muslims]. And indeed the Prophet said about the killing of a Mu’aahid, “Whoever kills a Mu’aahid will not even smell the fragrance of paradise and its fragrance can be smelled from the distance of forty years away”. [Bukhaari: No: 3166]

And whoever kills a Mu’aahid by mistake, it is as if he has killed a Muslim by mistake. He must pay blood money as expiation. Allaah said: [وَإِن ڪَانَ مِن قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَڪُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ۬ فَدِيَةٌ۬ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ وَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ۬ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍ۬‌ۖ – And if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, compensation (blood money – Diya) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed]. [4:92]

And finally, I advise these ones [those who called for a change of the Sharee’ah terminologies] to repent to Allaah. They should not enter into an affair which they have neither mastered nor is it [something] they have specialized in, because that would be tantamount to speaking about Allaah without knowledge. Indeed, Allaah stated: [وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ‌ۚ – ‘And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge].[17:36]

Allaah said:

‘Say (O Muhammad): (But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawaahish (great evil sins, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allaah for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allaah of which you have no knowledge]. [7:33]

Allaah placed speaking about Him without knowledge in a level above shirk due to its seriousness. And if it the case that these ones are aware of the subject matter regarding specialist knowledge and that a person cannot enter into that which is not his domain, just as one does not enter into the affair of medicine because it is not his domain, then why do they enter into the affairs of the sharee’ah, rather they enter into the most serious affairs of the sharee’ah, and that is the subject matter of Aqeedah, even though it is something they are not specialised in. I do not desire anything from this [speech] except to give advice and clarification”. [Footnotes A and b]: NB: Takfeer – declaring that a Muslim left the fold of Islaam is a judgement that can only be given by the upright scholars and none else: https://www.manhaj.com/manhaj/articles/obkwf-takfir-and-the-excuse-of-ignorance-shaykh-saalih-al-fawzaan.cfm

[Footnote c]: NB: All religious innovations are evil, but there are those that will exit a person from the fold of Islaam (Bida’atul Mukaffirah) and those that do not exit a person from the fold of Islaam (Bida’atul Mufassiqah).

Love & Hate for the Sake of Allaah by Shaikh Abu Hakeem [may Allaah preserve him]:

Love & Hate for the Sake of Allaah by Abu Hakeem

After acquainting oneself with what has preceded, the sensible person clearly sees that there is nothing of extremism or negligence with regards to our stance in the subject matter of Walaa Wal Baraa [loving and hating for the sake of Allaah]. As for those hizbiyyoon, the ones who wrote the text at Markaz Tawheed, then indeed what they do in public clearly manifest their corrupt walaa wal baraa when dealing with the deviated sects. Find out in this link: Markaz Tawheed join some of the deviated groups to rain funds for the Soofees: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2022/08/28/part-1-the-affair-of-markaz-tawheed-stoke-on-trent-greenlane-and-ikhwaaniyyah-in-manhaj/

Observation 3 a: Their statement, “Shaykh Albani talks about when Muslims are under attack from secularists then how one should cooperate and not refute the Islamic Jamaahs as it will strengthen the secularists – some may agree or disagree with this. But these brothers rather go to opposite end and refute other Muslims using terminology that will draw the intention of the media, government and intelligence organisations. Is this how one behaves with his Muslim brethren, resulting in Mosques upon Tawheed been investigated by the Security services because of their slander”.

Firstly, the Salafi students of knowledge do not embark upon refuting the secularists without careful deliberation, therefore, the hizbi’s (or view of the specific individual hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed who wrote the text) is subjective. Secondly, the circumstances in the UK allows one to openly rebut the militant secularists when they seek to beautify ideas and vilify the religion ordained by the Creator. The upright Salafi teachers have stood firm to rebut the ideas of the secularists without engaging in any action that would be considered a crime in the UK. Observation 3 b: Their statement, “But these brothers rather go to opposite end and refute other Muslims using terminology that will draw the intention (attention) of the media, government and intelligence organisations. Is this how one behaves with his Muslim brethren, resulting in Mosques upon Tawheed been investigated by the Security services because of their slander”.

Firstly, which terminology used by Salafiyyoon drew attention of the media, government and intelligence organisations? This is ambiguous speech by way of which either the hizbiyyoon seek to hide reality or leave people guessing, or they fear that by detailing such as affair they will be taken to task and the proofs established against them. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The basis of Banee Aadam’s misguidance is as a result of ‘General Terms’ and ‘Ambiguous Meanings’ [i.e. terms and meanings that can either be utilised for truth or falsehood when not explained in detail and distinguished], especially if they come in contact with a confused mind, then how about when desires and misguided enthusiasm is added to that? Therefore, ask the One Who keeps the hearts steadfast [i.e. Allaah] to keep your heart firm upon His Religion and not allow you to fall into this darkness”. (3)

The Imaam also said, “It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction, because unrestricted and general (statements) without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence (i.e. the world), and misguided the intellects and views (of the people) in every era”. Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] commented on this statement as follows, “There has to be detail explanation. The one who is not proficient in giving detail should keep quiet, because benefit is not acquired from his speech. And every time error occurs, its cause is due to an absence of detail explanation regarding truth and falsehood. There has to be detail explanation and distinction and not to mix up (affairs). (4)

Observation 3 c: What does one have to fear about the media, the government and intelligence organisations if he is neither engaged in any activity – in private or public – nor associated with any other individuals or organisations – in private or public – that are engaged in activities considered a criminal offence?!

Observation 3 d: Their statement, “Is this how one behaves with his Muslim brethren, resulting in Mosques upon Tawheed been investigated by the Security services because of their slander”.

This above statement of theirs is referred back to observations 3b and 3c. In addition, we remind the hizbiyyoon that the burden of proof is upon the claimant and that the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “If anyone disputes knowingly about something which is false, he remains in the displeasure of Allah till he desists, and if anyone makes an untruthful accusation against a Muslim, he will be made by Allah to dwell in the corrupt fluid flowing from the inhabitants of Hell till he retracts his statement”. [Saheeh Abu Dawud. Number 3597]

Observation 4: Their statement, “Shaykh Wasiullah Abbas warned Abu Khadeejah about this behaviour and he said this is very dangerous and he should know that this kind of behaviour then Allah will finish it with you. And now we see that this same individual has been blacklisted by the DfE for extremism and intolerance”.

Amazing speech! One does not know whether to cry or laugh when these hizbies seek to score cheap points! Can the hizbi or his allies find any extremism in the following articles based on that which is found in the Qur’aan, the authentic Sunnah and the understanding of the pious predecessors?!

Allaah Warns Against Extremism And Negligence By Abu Hakeem

Finally, our stance is very clear and that is made known in this link: Living With Non-Muslims In The West: With Fine Conduct: https://abukhadeejah.com/living-with-non-muslims-in-the-west-with-fine-conduct/

We don’t have to say anything after this, because it has become manifest that we are dealing with hizbiyyoon whose disease of hizbiyyah has reached its acute state.

To be continued….InShaaAllaah
