Does The Order of the prophets in the heaven indicate virtue over one another-Shaikh Rabee

Question:

Our Shaykh may Allah preserve you- is it understood that the order of the prophets in the heavens (as in Hadith of the isra – see Sahih bukhari) is in accordance to their virtue over (another) ?

Answer:

No. No, this is not understood (from the Hadith).  As for Ibraaheem and Moosaa this is indicated; but as for other than them, then no. For indeed Eesaa is from the ulul azam and he was in the second (heaven), whilst Idris and Yoosuf are lesser than him in virtue.  This (Hadith) does not indicate a specific/strict order.

A Woman asks Shaikh al-Fawzan about an Angel coming to Wake her Daughter for Fajr Prayer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Allah سبحانه و تعالى has in His great wisdom created differing creations; from amongst them the Angels, the Jinn, and of course the Humans. Regarding these various creations, an interesting event was narrated to Shaikh al-Fawzaan, the question from the mother of this particular girl was as follows:

“I have an orphan daughter [i.e. her father has passed away, since it is not a condition for the mother to have passed away also for a child to be considered an orphan] and a man comes to her at night and wakes her up for the Fajr prayer and commands her to wake up her brothers and sisters for the prayer. The question therefore is; can we be certain that this individual who comes is an Angel? Do Angels descend to the Earth?”

The Shaikh replied, “Allahu ‘Alam [Allah knows best], or he could be from our brothers the Jinn, its doesn’t necessarily have to be an Angel, maybe from our brothers the Jinn”.

“So it would be said to Shaikh Bin Baz, “Which Car Would You Like?”

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Shaikh Bin Baz رحمه الله و تعالى was from amongst the great scholars of our time, well known and recognised for his modesty and humbleness. The following is an occurrence narrated from his lifetime.

It was the case that individuals of the rank and responsibilty of the Shaikh were provided private cars on behalf of the Country, such cars would be provided for a certain period until they would be replaced by an updated model. When the allotted time period would expire on the car of the Shaikh it would be said to him that it requires to be replaced, so the Shaikh would say, “What’s wrong with it?”, he would be told that nothing is wrong, but rather it is procedure to provide a new car after certain periods of time. So then the Shaikh would be asked, “What model of car would you like to replace it with?”.  So the Shaikh would ask, “What models are there?”. He would be told there is Cadillac, Mercedes, Ford etc etc….and so the Shaikh would say, “What about a Caprice?”, he would be told that a Caprice is not a befittingly high-end model of car for his station and rank, so the Shaikh would reply, “Why?! Isn’t the grave we will all end up in the same?”.

Such is the example of the modesty of the scholars, in the first instance the Shaikh is questioning as to why he even requires to have a new car, and then he requests a model that may be considered lower than the superior models.

We ask Allah for modesty and humbleness, indeed beautiful characteristics.

Part 1: I asked Abu Khadeejah about Abdur-Raheem McCarthy-Another Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing

All praise is due to Allaah and may His salaah and salaam be upon our noble Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions.  To proceed:

I [Abu Mu-aawiyyah (Abdullaah al-Gambi) asked Ustaadh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah (may Allaah preserve him) about the state of affairs of Abdur-Raheem McCarthy Al-Amreekee after coming across his mixing haqq with Baatil, his exaggerations and defence of the people of hizbiyyah such as the likes of Abu Muslimah and the people to be treated the same as Ahlul Bidah such as Abu Usaamah; so he (Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah) said to me: ‘’Narrate from me that I heard Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadee (may Allaah preserve him) saying: ‘’I warn against Abdur-Raheem.’’

Next topic Inshaa-Allaah:

The false claim of Abdur Raheem that the Salafis hide the commendation (Tadeel) given to certain scholars who were imprisoned and promote the Jarh against them.  Indeed, we do not know whether to cry or laugh at this nonsense.  Abdur-Raheem–the deceiver– neither mentioned the names of those so called scholars nor did he give details of the Tadeel for them and the Jarh against them.  Indeed, we do not expect the likes of Abdur-Raheem to be brave enough to argue his position with Ilm, proofs and evidences; rather he utilised the methods of the Hizbiyyoon (i.e. general statements that can be utilised for both haqq and baatil, and then he chose to utilise them for baatil).   Inshaa-Allaah, we will discuss this in the next post and also the affair of Saeed Rageah another deceiver who exaggerates and mixes haqq with baatil.

“Well done for Refusing to Marry Him!” – Shaikh bin Baz

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Entering into marriage is a matter not considered to be light or casual, rather the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم guided the believers in understanding the issues of importance when deciding upon marriage, for certainly it is an affair of relevance in the religion. The husband requires a wife that will honour him and their household, and raise the children upon the correct morals and understandings of the religion, and similarly the wife requires a husband who will be upright and honourable in his religion and duties and rights to his family.

Regarding this affair, a practicing sister asked al ‘Allama Shaikh ‘Abdul-Aziz bin Baz رحمه الله تعالى regarding someone who proposed to her and so she said, “He is a relative of mine, however I refused his proposal for the following reasons: He does not perform his prayer in the congregation, he believes in magicians, he is younger than me in age by 2 years, he is illeterate and cannot read or write, and he spends a lot of time in gatherings [with his friends etc, always out]”.

So the Shaikh replied, “Well done for refusing him, the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم stated, “If someone proposes to you who is pleasing in his religion and morals then marry him”, as for this one [you have mentioned] then he is not pleasing in his religion or morals, well done for refusing him, and I ask Allah He gives you a righteous husband better than him”.

Although the age factor may not be a considerable issue, clearly the fact that his ‘aqeedah was so distorted that he believed and accepted magicians was a damaging and destructive affair in his religion, as well as the fact that he was known for plentiful excursions amongst his friends in gatherings and outings, which may detract from his rights and responsibilites to his household.

Perhaps we may take admonish from this event, seek to rectify ourselves in our marital affairs – or future marital affairs – and recognise the rights and responsibilites upon us, be it the husband or the wife, beginning with the rectification ad solidification of ‘aqeedah and in understanding and learning the affairs of our religion, hence understanding the responsibilites in a better fashion.

May Allah grant us all success.

Going to Sleep in a State of Prostration?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Indeed, Allah subhaanahu wa ta’ala selected certain times to be blessed, as opportunities for the slave to put forth his righteous deeds, lest it is discovered on that Day upon the presentation of the weighing scales that the accumulation of evil is greater than good  – we ask Allah to protect us from that state. From amongst those times is the blessed month of Ramadan that arrived and departed, however no sooner does one blessed time depart that another one arrives, indeed we speak of the approach of Hajj.

Many from amongst our brothers and sisters will strive to fulfill this obligation and travel to perform the Hajj, to submit and be subservient to their Creator in humbling themselves with their worship during those limited days.

It is regarding this Hajj that we find a tremendous narration from one of the great Salaf us-Salih, Masrooq ibn-ul Ajda’ from the senior tabi’een. It is narrated that Masrooq رحمه الله تعالى performed the Hajj, and during the days of Hajj – which are only a few – he did not sleep except in a state of prostration upon his face until he returned. [Siyar ‘alaam an-Nubalaa: 4/65]

Shaikh ‘Abdullah al-Bukhary حفظه الله تعالى stated regarding this [paraphrased], “…that is because the days of Hajj are very limited and few, and the Salaf us-Salih were keen on utilising every moment in worship and obedience to Allah, hence Masrooq did not wish to waste a single moment and so even slept in a position of prostration to Allah during those few days until he returned from Hajj”.

Certainly the days of Hajj are few and limited, so let them be an opportunity utilised in the best possible manner. Indeed, our brothers and sisters who make the journey and put forth a large financial amount, do not do so for the purpose of wasting the several days available in the land of Tawheed, make the limited days a cause for goodness and follow the example of the Salaf us-Salih in their desire for worship and obedience, and do not allow them to become filled with idle speech and relaxation…may Allah give us all success.

Stories of the Scholars [2004 – 2010] Sh.Mohammad al-Banna part 2

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

An affair that is not hidden is the firm and resolute manner in which the Salaf us-Salih clung to the Qur’an and Sunnah, the narrations with that regard are many and great. Therafter, the great scholars of the Sunnah have similarly clung firmly to this blessed methodology just as the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم  stated, “عضوا عليها بالنواجذ” cling onto it with the molar teeth. It is this firm stance in defence and implementation of this methodology that distinguishes ahlus-Sunnah as treading upon the centre route, just as Shaikh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah stated, “…just as Islam is in the centre between the other religions, then ahlus-Sunnah are in the centre between the [deviations] of the other sects….”. Hence there is no allowable place for opinions or logic in the face of the evidence when it is presented, as ‘Ali ibn abi Talib رضي الله عنه stated, “if this religion was based upon opinions and logic then wiping the bottom of the leather sock [or socks] would be given precedence…however the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم commanded that the top be wiped”.

In a recent story we saw the effort, persistence and striving of our noble Shaikh even in the time nearing his departure from this world, in this incident the firm and resolute stance of the Shaikh in clinging to the Sunnah will also be evident. On a particular occasion we travelled to Makkah and similarly visited the Shaikh as was the habit, we departed from the Masjid after the ‘Isha prayer and accompanied the Shaikh toward his car. The Shaikh was in his wheel chair and we walked alongside him. A question was posed to the Shaikh regarding a particular practice on the day of ‘Eid and whether it is from the sunnah to do so or not? The Shaikh replied it is not evidenced from the companions they would do it, at this point I stated that perhaps it could be allowable in any case as a tradition or custom of the people?

So the Shaikh – whilst in his wheelchair and I standing besides him – grasped me with a firm handhold with strength from the region of my collar and stated, “And do we follow the traditions and customs of the people or the authentic Sunnah?”

The affair was clearly understood by all present! However, the firm stance of the Shaikh in implementing the Sunnah was a lesson to us all, as well as the kindness and love of the Shaikh to benefit the people, for indeed the act of grasping the collar was upon kindness in clarifying and making blatant the status of the Sunnah to this group of youth.

May Allah have mercy upon the noble Shaikh and maintain us upon steadfastness in learning and practicing the truth.

In Defense of the Prophet Muhammad–by Shaikh Rabee Ibn Haadee Al-Madkhalee

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

All praises are due to Allah, and may Allah exalt the status of the Messenger of Allah and that of his family and his companions, and may He grant them peace.

As for what follows:

Some newspapers and other forms of media have spread hurtful, vicious information that could only emanate from the jealous, arrogant enemies of Islam and its Prophet (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace).

That conduct comprises a calumniation of Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah and a distortion of his message by jealous individuals and Christian organizations, as well as envious and irresponsible columnists, like those who write for the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.

Its writers mocked the best of Mankind and the most distinguished of the Messengers, Muhammad (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace), the likes of whose nobility, honour, justice, and manners the earth has never known of. Neither has it known of a more complete and comprehensive message than his, nor a more just and merciful one.

It is a message that embraces belief in all of the prophets and messengers, honoring them and defending them from calumniation and defamation. It has also preserved an accurate history of the prophets, including Jesus and Moses. So whoever disbelieves in Muhammad and speaks of him in a derogatory manner has disbelieved in all of the prophets and disparaged of all of them.

Recently, some uncivilized miscreants made fun of the Prophet, drawing various pictures of him. Twelve despicable pictures, one of them portrayed him (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace) wearing a turban resembling a bomb on his head.

We say to these criminals and their envious supporters in Europe and America: You are accusing others of your very own crimes! (*)

Let it be known that never did Muhammad (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace), nor his righteous successors or any of his honorable companions, ever establish factories for even the most primitive of weapons, like swords and spears, let alone atomic bombs, long-range missiles, or any other weapon of mass destruction.

Never did Muhammad (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace) build a single weapon factory. Rather, he was sent as a mercy for the entire creation, to guide all Mankind towards happiness in their worldly lives and in their hereafter, such that they fulfill their Creator’s right upon them, for it is He who created them to worship Him alone. Whoever rejects this is truly a criminal deserving punishment in this life and the next, by the Lord of all that exists, the Creator of this universe and its Master.

As for you O Westerners, claimants of civilization, you have constitutions and statutes that destroy upright moral character and permit all kinds of forbidden acts, the likes of fornication and sodomy, as well as usury which destroys the economies of entire nations, and the eating of improperly slaughtered animals (dead meats) and pork, something that causes the loss of concern for women’s values, and thus a man does not feel protective of his wife, sister, or daughter, and thus she fornicates with or intimately befriends whomever she pleases. These are some of the means which lead to ruin, and they have been prohibited in all of the prophetic messages.

As for bombs and all other weapons of destruction, war planes, tanks, and long-range missiles, you are the ones who engineered and manufactured them with your satanic minds that only think about transgression, animosity, oppression, attacking, tyranny, conquering entire races of people and enslaving them, spilling their blood, and usurping their natural resources. You think only about annihilating those who oppose you and stand in the way of your greedy aspirations, your oppression and spreading of hatred. All this wrapped up in the name of civilization, human rights, freedom, and justice!

All intelligent people know this about you. For your dark history is overflowing with uncivil and terrorist acts, a history recorded against you by both your enemies and allies alike.

Anyone who does not know this should read about your history and your occupation of numerous nations, or at least read the history and some horrible results of your two World Wars. For example, the number of fatalities in the First World War in Europe reached “More than 10 million, and they were the elite of their nations’ youth. And more than twice this number had incurred serious injuries disabling them for the rest of their lives.” [Refer to: At-Taareekh al-Mu’aasir: Uruubbaa minath-Thawratil-Fransiyyah ilal-Harbil-‘Aalamiyyaith-Thaaniyah, p.505. (Lit: Recent History, Europe from the French Revolution to the Second World War)]

The number of soldiers killed in the Second World War reached: “17 million, along with another 18 million civilian fatalities – all of them killed within a period of only five and a half years. Experts have estimated that the military expenses alone reached $1,100 billion, and that losses caused by the war reached the value of $2,100 billion. Added to this are the number of entire cities destroyed, the amount of earth scorched, the agriculture that was flooded, and the factories and plantations that stopped production, not to mention the number of livestock that were destroyed or lost.” [(Al-Harb al-‘Aalamiyyah ath-Thaaniyah by Ramadhaan Land, p.448-449) (Lit: The Second World War)]

The Hiroshima Bomb

Stated the author of the book, “al-Harb al-‘Aalamiyyah ath-Thaaniyah” (p.446-447) (Lit: The Second World War), “And perhaps it is appropriate to speak about this first atomic bomb. Let us relay what was reported directly from one of the Japanese in his interview with Marcel Junod, a representative of the Red Cross, speaking about the reality of this most frightening explosion. He said: …And suddenly there appeared these intense, muddy pinkish lights, accompanied by an unnatural tremor. This was immediately followed by an asphyxiating wave of heat and violent winds that ravaged everything in their path.

Within only a few seconds, thousands of people who walked the roads or sat in the city’s main streets were burned alive. A great number were then killed by the intense heat that spread all over. Others were left lying on the ground screaming in pain with deadly burns all over their bodies. Anything that had been at the point of impact – walls, homes, factories, and other buildings – was completely and totally annihilated, with all traces of these things sent hurling into the sky in a ghastly whirlwind. Trams were plucked from their steel tracks and flung as if they had lost their weight and substance. Trains were lifted off the ground along with their tracks as if they were mere toys. Horses, dogs, and livestock were all befallen with what befell the people. Every living thing had lost its life in one painful turn of events too difficult to describe. Trees were engulfed in blazing fires, rice fields lost their color, and farms crackled and burned away like dry straw.

As for the surrounding areas that escaped instant death: Homes were crumbled and only piles of wooden boards remained amongst bricks and stone foundations. Everything was crushed as if they were cardboard houses in a zone of destruction 10 kilometers in diameter. Those who survived found themselves totally surrounded by raging fires. The few people who managed to get to any type of shelter in time died painful deaths from gamma radiation within 20 to 30 days. By nightfall on the day of the blast, the blaze slowed down and then died out, finding nothing left to fuel it. Hiroshima had passed away into nothingness.”

These are some of the landmarks of your civilization that you sing and boast about, and become insolent towards Islam and its Prophet with. Yet you continue intensifying every form of oppression and corruption and you go on inventing more and more weapons of destruction, annihilation, and devastation, and this – by Allah – is the utmost limit of barbaric and animalistic behavior.

( Or do you think that most of them even listen or use their intellects?
They are only like cattle, rather, even more astray than that. )

[Soorah al-Furqaan 25:44]

So crown yourselves with your own bombs, including the Hiroshima bomb and its likes, and crown your leaders with them. Consider all other weapons of mass destruction as your fangs and claws that you use to prey upon wild animals and all of Mankind.

( And those who oppress shall see what kind of outcome overturns them. )
[Soorah ash-Shooraa 26:227]

Stories of the Scholars [2004 – 2010] Sh.’Ubayd al-Jaabiry

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The great effort and striving of the scholars to benefit people is an affair not hidden, rather all who accompany the scholars recognise the compassion to their students and the people as a whole, desiring that they may benefit. Examples of this compassion are found even in the smallest of statements of the great scholars, the likes of Mohammad bin abdul-Wahhab رحمه الله تعالى, for indeed the one who studies and reads his books finds how often the Shaikh makes du’a for the readers and his students with statements such as “رحمك الله” throughout his books.

One example of this desire to benefit the students is from Shaikh ‘Ubayd al-Jaabiry حفظه الله تعالى in approximately 2005 when he was teaching Kitab at-Tawhid. The lesson was a weekly affair after the ‘Isha prayer at the Shaikh’s then local masjid [approximately 10 minutes by taxi from the Haram at that time]. Typically speaking the duration of any given lesson is between 50minutes – 1 hour 15minutes, hence the Shaikh would begin in the particular chapter we had reached that week, once completing it he would move onto the next chapter too – that was not of surprise since it was completely feasible to complete 2 chapters in just over an hour.

However on several occasions, from the desire of the Shaikh to maximise the benefit of the gathering, knowing the attendees were students who would be able to burden that, he would continue and finish 3 chapters of the book in one sitting, perhaps extending the lesson to the region of 1 hour 45minutes on some occasions. No individual would have questioned the Shaikh if he concluded the lesson after 2 chapters, however from his own desire to benefit the people he continued.

An individual who is young and in the prime of his strength would not consider that an issue, however in the context of the Shaikh, a man in his older age, to sit for that period of time late after ‘Isha in one place is sufficient in of itself, however to also be consistently talking for that period of time is not an affair of great ease.

It was certainly a practical lesson regarding the well-known aspect of the importance of patience in seeking knowledge, and persistence and diligence. Indeed the desire of the scholars to benefit, educate and nurture the people is great….the question that arises is: how many have the will-power, patience and desire to take that benefit?
