Salaficentre: Two Important Objectives to Remember- [Consistency and Solidifying What One Learns]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] stated above that one should firmly cling to the book he is reading or revising, and should firmly cling to the Shuyookh he learns from in person. Do not be a Dhawwaaq [i.e. one who quickly acquires a taste of this or that and moves on to another thing without accomplishing anything properly]- alternating to a new Shaikh every week and every month; rather determine -first and foremost- who to take knowledge from in person, then firmly cling to him after you have decided. However, you can have different Shaikhs from whom you acquire different subject matters, for example you have a Shaikh who teaches you Fiqh and you carry on being consistent in your studies; another Shaikh who teaches you Arabic Grammar and you carry on being consistent in your studies; a Shaikh in Aqeedah and you carry on being consistent in studying Aqeedah and Tawheed. The most important thing is consistency and that you refrain from quickly acquiring a taste of this or that topic without accomplishing anything properly- like that man who is a serial divorcee, for whenever he gets married and stays with the wife for seven days, he divorces her and then moves on to another woman. So, he remains for a prolonged period in his life whilst neither enjoying [a fruitful, close, intimate relationship etc] with a wife nor having children in most cases.

Our Salaf- Their Stance Against The Books of Ahlul Bidah

قال الإمام أحمد

إياكم أن تكتبوا عن أحد من أصحاب الأهواء ؛ قليلا ولا كثيرا

Imaam Ahmad [rahimahullaah] said: Beware of writing down [knowledge] from one of the people of desires-be it a little or a lot. [Siyar 11/231]

Sa’eed Ibn Amr Al-Bardha’ee [rahimahullaah] said: I witnessed [when] Abu Zur’ah was asked about Haarith Al-Muhaasibee and his books; so he said to the questioner: Beware of these books; they are books of bidah and misguidance. [Al-Meezaan 2/165]

Unity is Based on Book and Sunnah! An Insightful Statement of Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah During Eedul Fitr Khutbah

Unity is based on the Book and the Sunnah and not bidah. We do not look for a common enemy and unite against him… because as soon as we overcome him, we will start to fight amongst ourselves.

The Means to a Loving Relationship and Strong Bond Between Husband and Wife- By Shaikh Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah]

Shaikh Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said: If a person says: What will make a man love his wife and vice versa? We say: Allaah has clarified this in His statement:

وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ

And live with them honourably. [Soorah An-Nisaa’ Aayah 19]

If every person lives with his wife honourably and vice versa, then love, a strong bond and a happy married life will be established.

2 Ahadeeth on Compassion Towards Our Wives

The Prophet (sallahualayhiwasallam) said:

“The best of you are those who are the best to their wives; and I am the best of you to my wives.” (Tirmidhi 3895. Declared authentic by Imaam Albaani in Sahih at-Tirmidhi)

The Prophet (sallahualayhiwasallam) said:

“You never spend anything, except that you will be rewarded for it; even the morsel of food that you lift to your wife’s mouth” (Bukhaari 6352 & Muslim 1628)

Follow Allaah’s Path and Do Not Follow Bidah and Shubuhaat- By Imaam Mujaahid [rahimahullaah]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَأَنَّ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطِى مُسۡتَقِيمً۬ا فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ‌ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلسُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمۡ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكُمۡ وَصَّٮٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّڪُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

And verily, this is my Straight Path, so follow it, and follow not [other] paths, for they will separate you away from His Path. This He has ordained for you that you may become Al-Muttaqun [the pious] [6:153]

Abu Nu’aym [rahimahullaah] reported with his chain of transmission from Mujaahid [rahimahullaah] regarding the statement of Allaah: [وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلسُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمۡ عَن سَبِيلِهِ – And follow not [other] paths, for they will separate you away from His Path], that it means: [Do not follow] Bidah [i.e. innovations in religion] and Shubuhaat  [i.e. affairs that are made to resemble truth but are falsehood in reality].
