Imaam Ash Shaqeeti (rahimahullaah) said:

Turning away from the guidance of the Qur’aan regarding polygyny (i.e. turning away from it based on other the Sharee’ah Reasons that allows a person to refrain from polygamy) is among the greatest causes of moral deprivation. It is (from the greatest causes) of being lowered to the level of animals due to an absence of safeguarding chastity, preserving nobility, good moral conduct and manners.
