[5] Admonitions Shared By Brothers and Sisters

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A beloved brother from Saudi, may Allah make him and his family Mubarak wherever they may be shared a statement of Al-Allamah Muqbil Bin Hadi Al-Wadi’ee, rahimahullah, as follows:

‏علم الجرح والتعديل يُعتبر عِماد علم الحديث، وقد أجمع من يُعتد به من علماء المسلمين على شرعيته…
والمبتدعة سابقهم ولاحقهم يخافون من علم الجرح والتعديل ويُنفِّرون عنه؛ لأنهم يعلمون أنهم مجروحون.

The science of al-Jarḥ wa at-Ta’dil is considered the backbone of the science of Hadith. Indeed, those scholars of the Muslims who are relied upon and considered reliable unanimously agreed that it is something legislated in the religion. The Mubtadi’ah—both earlier and later—fear the science of al-Jarḥ wa at-Ta’dil and try to turn (people away) from it, because they know that they are Majroohoon (i.e. they are from those about whom it is established with proof that they are unreliable, deviated, weak narrators, liars, or fabricators of hadith etc).
