[6] Admonitions Shared By Brothers and Sisters

A beloved Salafi brother, friend and former colleague living in Saudi at present, may Allah make him and his family Mubarak wherever they maybe, shared this statement of Imam Ibn Al-Qayyyim, rahimahullah, as follows:
The people of Islam are strangers amongst humankind. And the believers are strangers amongst the people of Islam.
The people of knowledge (i.e., upright scholars and students of knowledge) are strangers amongst the believers.
And the people of the Sunnah, who distinguish it (i.e., the Sunnah) from the (vain) desires and bidʿah, are (more profound) strangers.
And those who call to it (i.e., the Sunnah), patiently exercising patience in facing the harm of the Mukhalifeen, are even more intense in strangeness than all these people. (Paraphrased)
Madarij al-Salikin (3/195)
