In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:
The basis of the misguidance of these ones is their belief that the Imaams of guidance and the Jamaa’ah [i.e. the Salafus Saaleh] have exited the (confines) of justice and are misguided. This is the view of those who have abandoned the Sunnah, such as the Raafidah and those similar to them. And that which they consider to be oppression, they hold that it s disbelief and then innovate rulings for it. These are the three stances [i.e. they revile the Salaf, declare certain acts as oppression and then innovate rulings against them] held by those who exit the Sunnah, such as the Harooriyyah, the raafidah and those similar to them. They isolate some of the fundamental principles of the Islamic Religion until they exit from it (completely), just like an arrow goes through a hunted game.
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:
One must have knowledge of the Ma’roof and the Munkar [i.e. knowledge of the good affair he (or she) wants to command a person and the evil affair he wants to forbid], and (be able) to distinguish between them. And one must have knowledge of the situation of the one he (or she) commands with good and forbids from evil.
[Al-Amr Bil Ma’roof Wan-Nahy Anil Munkar’ page 55]
Yahyaa Ibn Mu’aadh (rahimahullaah) said: The creation (i.e. mankind and Jinn) have not heard (anything) similar to two calamities (that afflicts) a person in relation to his wealth at the time of death; so it was said: What are they? He said: All of it is taken away from him (i.e. he will leave it behind for others) and he will be questioned about all of it (i.e. he will be questioned about it in the Hereafter- how he earned and spent it).
Abdullaah Ibnul Mubaarak (rahimahullaah) said: ”From the greatest calamities for a man is that he knows of a shortcoming of his, yet he neither cares nor grieves”.

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy
It was narrated to us by some of the Salafi brothers residing in Birmingham that during a Friday Sermon – which was witnessed by many- a man stood up and loudly objected to what Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah was saying, whilst he was warning the Muslims against deviants. Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah (may Allaah preserve him) calmly and politely informed the man that it is impermissible to speak whilst the khateeb is delivering the Jumu’ah Khutbah. The man was then spoken to after the khutbah to address his concerns. Many people witnessed this incident. May Allaah reward our teachers and those who taught them the manner in which to deal with different types of people. Aameen
Shaikh Muhammad Baazmool (may Allaah preserve him) stated that [Imaam] Adh-Dhahabi (rahimahullaah) stated in Meezaan Al-I’tidaal that this biography is found in the book [Su’aalaat Abee Daawud] by [Imaam] Ahmad Bin Hanbal regarding criticism and appraisal of the narrators. He mentioned a group amongst the Makkans, their state of affairs in relation to transmission of reports, criticism and appraisal of the narrators till the third generation.
The People of Makkah Are More Knowlegeable Regarding The Manaasik (Rites of Hajj and Umrah):
The people of Makkah are more knowledgeable regarding the Manaasik (rites of Hajj and Umrah) than the people of Koofah. Al-A’mash said, “Habeeb bin Abee Thaabit said to me, ‘The people of the Hijaaz and Makkah are more knowledgeable regarding the rites of Hajj and Umrah!’ So I said, “You are from them and I am from your companions; you do not bring a letter except that you narrate a hadeeth about it”.
Ataa Bin Abee Rabaah
A Scholar of Makkah (especially) in subject matter of Hajj and Umrah
Rabee’ah said: Ataa excelled the people of Makkah in issuing verdicts (i.e. in the subject matter of hajj and umrah rites).
It was narrated from Sufyaan Bin Uyaynah, from Abdi Rabbihi Bin Sa’eed who said that Muhammad Bin Ali said: None amongst the people who remained were more knowledgeable than (Ataa) in the subject matter of Hajj.
Abu Zur’ah was asked about Ataa bin Rabaah, so he said: A Makkan and Thiqatun (reliable or trustworthy).

The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Islaam is built upon 5;
The Shahaadah (testification) that there is none that is truly deserving of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
The establishment of the (five compulsory) Prayers
Paying of Zakah (Obligatory charity paid annually if minimum level of wealth has been reached and maintained for a full Islamic year)
Performance of Hajj (Obligatory major pilgirmage (performed once) to the Kabah in Makkah, for those who have the ability)
Fasting the month of Ramadhaan
So the Shahaadah: Laa ilaaha illa Allah:
Is the knowledge, belief and adherence of the slave that there is nothing (or no-one) deserving of divinity or worship except Allah Alone, having no partner.
Therefore that which is obligated upon the slave:
Is to purify and sincerely (direct) all (affairs) of the religion to Allah [The Most High], and that the slave’s acts of worship – the apparent and the hidden – are all for (carried out for the sake of) Allah alone, and that he does not associate any partners with Him in any of the affairs of the religion.
This is the foundation of the religion of all of the messengers and their followers as Allah the Most High has said:
And We did not send any Messenger before you [O Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] but We revealed to him (saying): Lâ ilâha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allâh)], so worship Me (Alone and none else).” [Al-Anbiyaa (25)]
And The Shahaadah that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah:
That the Slave believes (and holds as creed) that Allah sent Muhammad to all of the humans and jinn, a bringer of glad tidings and a warner, calling them to single out Allah [in worship (Tawheed)] and to obey Him, by affirming the news/information (Allaah has made known to them), obeying His commands and staying far away from His prohibitions. And that (the person) believes that there is no happiness and no salvation in the worldly life or hereafter, except by way of eemaan (belief) in Allaah and by obeying [the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam)]. And (know) that it is obligatory to put love of him before love of yourself and your children and all of the people.
And (to believe) that Allah aided him with miracles, as an indication of (the truthfulness) of his message and the complete knowledge Allaah gave him and (his) high moral character, and that his religion is comprised of guidance, mercy and truth; worldly and religious benefits.
And the greatest sign is this Great Quraan, due to the truth it contains, the information about (various affairs of the worldly life and the afterlife), commands and prohibitions.
And Allah knows best.
