An Example of Those Who Exceeded The Limits and Those Who Fell Short In The Subject Matter of Purification

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ وَكَذَٲلِكَ جَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا لِّتَڪُونُواْ شُہَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ شَهِيدً۬ا‌ۗ – Thus We have made you [true Muslims real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of – Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat [just and the best] nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 143]

Allaah [The Exalted] also said:

My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who are the pious, and give Zakat; and those who believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs and revelations, etc.); those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e.Muhammad) whom they find written with them in the Taurat (Torah) (Deut, xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16) , he – commands them for Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibat [(i.e. all good and lawful) as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khaba’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allah’s Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur’an) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Verses 156-157]

This is why those amongst the Muslims who deviate towards the doubts of the Jews and Christians are commanded to abandon such deviation and follow the straight path – the path which Allaah bestowed on the Prophets, the truthful ones, the martyrs and righteous, and not the path of those who have earned Allaah’s Anger, such as those Jews who disbelieved in the Messiah after having knowledge, and those who went astray such as those Christians who deviated from the path of the Messiah, exaggerated his status by worshipping him and worshipped Allaah based on ignorance And similar to them is the one who [ascribed to Islaam], but goes beyond bounds in avoiding impure things and thus declares impure that which has not been declared impure by Allaah and His Messenger; makes unlawful that which Allaah and His Messenger have not made unlawful, captured by the whispers of shaytaan and forbids the good things which Allaah made lawful for the Muslims, such as the one who holds the opinion that if impurity is removed and there is nothing remaining of it, then the place it was found is still impure if the impurity was not removed by that which has been prescribed as a condition for its removal such as water or other than it; or he holds that good water and other good liquids that have not been affected by something filthy is unlawful merely due to the reason that they have come into contact with some filth. [Footnote a – refer to detail about the ruling on water at the end of this article]

And even worst is the affair of those who excommunicate Muslims who oppose them, as is the view of many of ahlul bidah amongst the Raafidha (Shiites), the Khawaarij and other than them, so if others eat from their utensils, they declare it impure. [Footnote b- refer to detail at the end of this article regarding falsehood of the khawaarij and Raafidha, as well as a hadith regarding utensils]

As for that which many people do (without any sound proof from the texts of the Sharee’ah), such as one who commands a menstruating woman that she must change or wash the first clothing she wore whilst she was on her menses, or forbids a person who is in a state of Janaabah from eating or drinking until he takes a shower (or bath), these opinions are often that of those who resemble those Jews who went astray; rather they resemble the Samaritans.

As for those who resemble the Christians [i.e. those Christians who strayed after abandoning the path of the Messiah and disbelieved in Muhammad], it is for example the affair of the one who has a good suspicion regarding that which is impure, such as those who are in toilets- places of the devils and impurity – and defiled with urine. He neither performs wudhu nor does he take a bath, nor shower after being in a state of Janaabah, neither perform the Salaah nor prays in a state of ablution, whilst knowing that it is known by necessity in the religion that the five daily prayers are obligated on every person and that one has to make Wudhu if he is a state of Hadath and should take a bath when in a state of Janaabah, and cannot perform Tayammum when he is able to make wudhu. The Utensils of non-Muslims: Narrated Abū Thaʿlaba al-Khushni (raḍi Allāhu ʿanhu): I said “O Allāh’s Messenger! We are living in a land inhabited by the People of the Scriptures; can we take our meals in their utensils?” He said, “If you can get utensils other than theirs, do not eat in theirs, but if you cannot get other than theirs, wash them and eat in them” [Agreed upon]

Some Reasons Behind Increase In Reward On Deeds and The Heavy Weight of Ahlus Sunnah’s Deeds

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Some Reasons Behind Increase In Reward On Deeds, Why Ahlus Sunnah’s Deeds Become Heavier Even if little and Ahlul Bidah’s Deeds Become Lighter Even If Numerous

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was asked: What are the means and deeds by way of which reward is increased?

Answer: As for the increase of reward for a good deed to ten times the like thereof, this occurs in every righteous action, as Allaah [The Most High] said: [مَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ ۥ عَشۡرُ أَمۡثَالِهَا‌ۖ   – Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit]. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 160]

As for an increase beyond this, it has its ways (and means). It can either be related to the performer of the deed (himself or herself) or the deed itself, or the time and the place [i.e., a specific time and place mentioned in the authentic Sharee’ah texts that reward for good deeds are increased in that time period or place].

One of the most important means of increasing (reward for good deeds) is when a person fulfils sincerity to Allaah and adheres to the path of the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him].  This (increase is received) when a deed is legislated [i.e., in the Sharee’ah and not innovated] and the person intends to please Allaah and hopes for His Reward- when this intention is firmly established as the drive and goal behind the deed – due to the person’s belief in Allaah, belief in the Messenger, (obedience) to the command of Allaah, seeking Allaah’s Countenance and Pleasure, just as it has been mentioned in a number of Aayaat and Ahaadeeth. Allaah [The Most High]: [إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ – Verily, Allah accepts only from those who are Al-Muttaqun] [Surah al-Maa’idah. Ayah 27] Meaning:  Those who fear Allaah whilst performing deeds with sincerity and adhering to the authentic path of the Messenger.

Also, the Messenger said, “Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhaan, his previous (minor) sins will be forgiven”. “And whoever stands (in the night prayer) during Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward (from Allaah), then all of his previous (minor) sins will be forgiven”. (1) and other texts besides these. And because of this, the apparent actions have more virtue over one another in the sight of Allaah due to the faith and sincerity in the hearts.

Also abandoning the forbidden desires of the soul is included amongst those righteous actions that have virtue over one another due to the different levels of sincerity, if a (person) sincerely abandons them from the bottom of his heart and not out of other than sincerity. The story of the companions of the cave [i.e. in Surah Al-Kahf] is bears witness to this. (2)

Therefore, the means to increasing (reward) is the basis and foundation we have already mentioned, such as sound creed, a strong belief in Allaah and in His Attributes, a strong desire (to worship Allaah) and a fervent desire for goodness. That is because Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah -in truth – and those people of knowledge, who possess knowledge of the perfect and details of the Names and Attributes of Allaah and have a strong desire to meet Allaah (in the Afterlife), the reward for their deeds are greatly increased in a manner in which others who share the same religion can neither reach nor approach in the least. And this is why the pious predecessors used to say, “When Ahlus Sunnah are held back by their deeds [i.e. not having numerous deeds], they are supported by their sound creed”. (3)

Imaam Ibn Rajab [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The increase of reward (on a deed) is estimated in accordance with the perfection of a person’s Islaam and strength of sincerity in that action”. [4]

The Obligation of Hijrah (Migration) to Daarul Islaam (A Muslim Country)

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Obligation of Hijrah to Daarul Islaam – by Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz and Al-Allaamah Ubaid al-Jaabiri

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was asked: What is your advice to brothers and sisters who live in England and do not work, and receive financial aid from the government? Sometimes they get a job, but they do not inform the government. Is this work of theirs a right thing?

Answer: It is obligated on all Muslims residing in Daarul Kufr (1) to migrate to Bilaad Al-Islaamiyyah (2) – if they are able to do so – in which duties of Islam are established. If not able to do that, then (they migrate) to the countries that are lesser in evil, just as a group of the companions migrated – when commanded by the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] – from Makkah to Abyssinia, because the land of Abyssinia at that time was lesser evil than the evil that befell the Muslims in Makkah before the conquest of Makkah. But, if they cannot, then they must fear Allaah in their place (of residence), beware of what Allah has forbidden them and fulfil what Allaah has enjoined upon them. And there is no sin on them in accepting help and assistance from the non-Muslim state if this does not result in abandoning an obligation or committing a prohibited act, (but) they are not entitled to take assistance except officially as decided by the state, and they are not allowed to lie to obtain it. And it is obligated on all of them to fear Allaah in everything, beware of what Allaah forbids, seek understanding in the Qur’an and Sunnah among themselves and ask the people of knowledge (i.e. the scholars) about what is difficult for them to understand (or regarding a difficult situation that requires a verdict) , even if by correspondence or by phone. May Allaah rectify the circumstances of all Muslims, preserve their religion for them, grant them understanding in it, and protect them from the evil of themselves and the evil of their enemies, for indeed He is magnanimous and generous. [Majmoo Fataawaa Wa Maqaalaat Ash-Shaikh Ibn Baaz 28/238]

Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabir [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: In the name Allaah and all praise is due to Allaah. May Allaah send His salaah and salaam upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and all his companions. I say: The establishment of this affair is not excluded from that which the Book of our Lord and the Sunnah of our Prophet demonstrated; and [that which] the Imaams of Knowledge and the Religion [past and present follow(ed), pertaining to migration from the lands of kufr to the lands of Islaam, or from a kaafir land or to another kaafir land in which the Muslim’s Religion and honour is safe. In summary, the one who sits and accompanies me knows that of me. I say, and with Allaah is facilitation of Tawfeeq (i.e. guidance and the ability to act upon it):

Firstly: This Hijrah is from the legislated ordinances of Allaah and He has not abrogated it. He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “Hijrah will not cease to continue until repentance ceases to continue, and repentance will not cease to continue until the sun rises from the west”. So, it [hijrah] remains.

Secondly: What is apparent to me concerning Hijrah at present is of two examples [affairs]; [a] Obligation [b] Sunnah. The Obligatory Hijrah: If a person is in a kaafir land (being) put to trial in his religion and honour, and he is unable to establish that which Allaah has enjoined upon him pertaining to his Religion and worship of his Lord, then Hijrah is obligatory upon him on the basis of what has already been clarified; if he is able to make Hijrah, yes, then he migrates to a Muslim land and this is the Asl, or to a Kaafir land in which his Religion and honour is safe, just as the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] commanded the Muslims to migrate to Habasha [Ethiopia] when the Quraish harmed them; and (he) mentioned that there was a king [in Habasha] who oppresses no one under his protection, or as he said: “(oppresses no one) next to him.” This is what I affirm and adhere to as [religion] to Allaah.

As for the recommended prescribed Hijrah: It is the Hijrah from the land of the disbelievers to the lands of Islaam in order to strengthen his religion, or to gain knowledge, or to earn lawful earnings in the land of Islaam. So when this is established- and if I did say on a day from the days about making hijrah to Birmingham unrestrictedly- then this is a slip [mistake] and I seek Allaah’s forgiveness from this if it was an upright transmission of the trustworthy people of Sunnah. This is the third point or affair.

The Fourth Point: Many amongst the people in Europe or in the Asian States in India or other than it ask; they are put to trial in their Religion by some of the innovators from the brelviyyah- the extremist soofees from the people of Wahdatul Wujood and other than them. So I say them [i.e. those put to trial]: Make Hijrah to Birmingham because Maktabatus Salafiyyah is there. Therefore, my answer to them is not that Birmingham is a land of Hijrah unrestrictedly, for Birmingham is from the cities of Britain and Britain is a Kaafir Land. I urge them to make Hijrah to where they will find the Maktabah, where they will affiliate with Maktabatus Salafiyyah over there [in Britain], and to participate in lessons and muhaadaraat within which are scholars of excellence, from them: Ash-Shaikh Abdullaah Bin Abdur Rahmaan Al-Ghudiyaan from the Committee of Major Scholars and Fatwah Committee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He delivered lessons to them and has died [rahimahullaah]. So the likes of this Maktbah is worthy of being affiliated to [for] the one who cannot find a place to seek shelter; especially if he has a desire to attain knowledge of the Sharee-ah, particularly in the affair of Aqeedah, the Sunnah and waging war against innovation and its people. This is what I mentioned and I affirm it. And I repeat: if I did establish [affirm] the opposite of that, then it is one of two affairs: [a] It is either a slip [mistake] from me or [b] a distortion [misrepresentation] of (my speech). And that which is from me, then indeed I seek the forgiveness of Allaah from it; and that which is a distortion [misrepresentation] of my speech and a forged saying on me, then I ask Allaah to set it aside between me and my adversaries on yaumul qiyaamah. Footnotes 1 and 2: Daarul Islaam (or Bilaad Al-Islaamiyyah) is a country whose people are predominantly Muslims, even if the ruler is either a polytheist or does not ascribe to any religion. This land is a Muslim land and it is considered Daarul Islam. As for Daarul Kufr, it is a country whose people are predominantly disbelievers [in Allaah, or disbelievers in both Allaah and His final Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)]. Sound Creed and Methodology, and Distancing from Path of Ahlul Bidah In Relation to Suhoor and Iftaar

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Dharr [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “My Ummah will continue in goodness so long as they hasten to break their fast and delay the pre-fasting meal”. [Saheeh Al-Jaami 7224]

Abu Hurayrah [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The religion will not cease to prevail as long as people hasten to break the fast, because the Jews and the Christians (i.e. those amongst them who deviated from the path of their Prophets) delay it”. (1)

“The religion will not cease to prevail”– Meaning, triumphant and lofty or manifest and clear; “as long as the people hasten to break the fast”– Meaning, they earnestly hasten to break the fast; “because the Jews and the Christians delay it” [i.e. those amongst them who deviated from the path of their Prophets]. At-Teebiy [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “In this is proof that upright establishment of the religion of pure Islamic monotheism is by way of opposing the enemies amongst the people of the scripture, and being in agreement with them ruins the religion”. [i.e. what they have innovated in the religion of the Prophets] (2)

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “This is a text regarding (the fact that) triumph of the religion is attained through hastening to break the fast, and it is for the purpose of opposing the Jews and Christians [i.e. those amongst them who deviated, innovated in religion and opposed their prophets]. And when it is the case that opposing them is a reason behind the triumph of the religion, then the purpose of sending the Messengers is so that the religion ordained by Allaah prevails over all others. Therefore, being in opposition to (the deviated people) is one of the greatest goals behind the advent of the Messengers”. (3)

Sahl Ibn Sad [may Allaah be pleased with him] said that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The people will not cease to be upon good as long as they hasten to break the fast”. (4)

Imaam An-Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “In this is an urge to hasten (to break the fast) after the setting of the sun is ascertained. And what this means is that the affair of the Ummah will not ceased being consistent and that they will (remain upon) good if they preserve this Prophetic tradition. If they delay breaking the fast, then this is a sign of corruption”. (5)

They will not cease to be upon good if they do this by acting upon the Sunnah and limit themselves to its prescribed legislated boundaries, and not being over-stringent (through what their) intellects (suggest to them) and changing its principles. The people of the scripture [i.e. those amongst them who deviated] delayed breaking the fast until the stars appeared. (6)

Is The One Who Provides Suhoor For Needy People The Same As The One Who Provides Iftaar?

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was asked: In Ramadhaan, one notices the concern people give to providing Iftaar for those needy people who observe the fast – whether it is in the Masaajid or the houses – in order to receive reward just as the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Whoever provides Iftaar for a fasting person, he has reward similar to his” [i.e. reward similar to that of the fasting person]. However, we find big tables [i.e. with food and drink] at the time of Iftaar -in the Masaajid- but few people sit to eat, whereas it is very rare to find one who provides Suhoor for a needy fasting person. Therefore, is the reward received by the one who provides Suhoor for the people similar to the one who provides Iftaar?

Answer: I do not know of a (specific) exhortation -as an act of Sunnah- to provide Suhoor for the fasting people, and it is not possible to compare it to providing Iftaar. That is because the fasting person’s need for eating and drinking during Iftaar is much greater than his need for eating and drinking during Suhoor; therefore, we do not go beyond what has been reported in the Sunnah. However, whoever knows someone- from the poor people around him- who is in need of food for Suhoor, then the door is open in this affair [i.e. he can provide that person with food for Suhoor]. (7)

Al-Allaamah Abdullaah Bin Humaid [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was asked: Is attendance at the Haram (in Makkah) and breaking the fast over there something desired in the Sunnah or not, for some people obligate that on themselves?

Answer: It is not Sunnah; rather some people break their fast at the Haram in order to be present for Maghrib Salaah. That is because they will miss the Maghrib Salaah if they were to break their fast at home. And it is not the case that breaking the fast at a Masjid has a distinguished virtue; rather it is for the purpose of attending the congregational prayer. So they (i.e. the people) break their fast over there in order to attend the congregational prayer and not miss it. As for merely breaking the fast, it contains the same reward whether the person does so in his house or at another place. They (i.e. the people) only choose it (i.e. the Masjid) because the Salaah is established over there, so that they can perform it at the Kabah and together with the Muslims as a group. This is the aim. (8)

A Scholarly and Truthful Response Regarding Ilmul Ghayb For The One Who Asked!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A Scholarly and Truthful Response Regarding Ilmul Ghayb (Knowledge of The Unseen) For The One Who Asked!

Allaah (The Most High) said: [وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ – And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He].

In his explanation of the above Ayah, Imaam Ash-Shanqeetee (may Allaah have mercy upon him] brought a number of robust proofs to demonstrate and establish that even the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- Allaah’s Messengers and Angels-do not posses knowledge of the Unseen. The Imaam [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Proof A: Aa’isha (may Allah be pleased with her] was falsely accused and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] did not know whether she was innocent or not until Allaah informed him, saying: [ أُولَٰئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ- ‘Such (good people) are innocent of (each and every) bad statement which they say].

Proof B: Prophet Ibraaheem (peace be upon him) slaughtered a lamb for the angels, whilst not knowing that they were angels until they informed him that they were angels. Allaah said that the angels said to him: [إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ – We have been sent against the people of Lout (Lot). (11:70)]

Proof C: When the angels came to Prophet Lut (peace be upon him), he did not know that they were angels, and due to that Allaah said: [عَصِيبٌ سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ – He was grieved on their account and felt himself straitened for them (lest the town people should approach them to commit lewdness with them). He said: This is a distressful day]. And because of this Allaah said that lut said: [لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ – Would that I had strength (men) to overpower you, or that I could betake myself to some powerful support (to resist you). (11:80)]. He did not know the news the angels brought until they said to him: [إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ – Verily, we are the Messengers from your Lord!]

Proof D: Prophet Ya’qoob (peace be upon him) lost his eye sight due to grieving for Yusuf (peace be upon him), whilst he was in Egypt. He did not know anything about Yusuf until Allaah reveal news about him.

Proof E: Prophet Sulaymaan (peace be upon him), even though Allaah gave him authority over the devils and subjugated the wind in his service, did not know about the people Bil Qees until the Hud’hud came with news about them. Allaah said that the Hud’hud said: [أَحَطْتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِنْ سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ – I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba’ (Sheba) with true news].

Proof F: Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him) did not know that his son – who was drowned- was not from those members of his household who were to be saved, as Allaah said that Nuh said: [رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ – O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true.(11:45)]

He did not know the reality of the affair until Allaah informed him, saying:

[بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ – He said: “O Nuh (Noah)! Surely, he is not of your family; verily, his work is unrighteous, so ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge! I admonish you, lest you be one of the ignorant].

And indeed Allaah (The Most High) also stated in Surah Hud about Nuh that he said to his people: [وَلَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ -And I do not say to you that with me are the Treasures of Allah, “Nor that I know the Ghaib (unseen)].

Proof G: And when Allaah said to the Angels: [هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ أَنْبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاءِ -Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful]; Allaah said that the angels replied: [قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا -They (angels) said: “Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us.

Therefore, it is very clear that the most knowledgeable amongst the creation, the Messengers and the Angels, do not know anything of the unseen except what Allaah makes known to them. Allaah (The Most High) informs His Messengers what He wishes from the knowledge of the Unseen, as Allaah stated:

[وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْتَبِي مِنْ رُسُلِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ- Nor will Allah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghaib (unseen), but Allah chooses of His Messengers whom He pleases].

And Allaah said: [إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ مِنْ رَسُولٍ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِ أَحَد- (He Alone) the All-Knower of the Gha’ib (unseen), and He reveals to none His Gha’ib (unseen).” Except to a Messenger (from mankind)…[An Excerpt from ‘Tafseer Al-Qur’aan Bil-Qur’aan Min Adwaa Al-Bayaan’ pages 169-170’ Daar Hady An-Nabawiy’ 2nd ed. We Will Not Abandon Our Way of Life Nor Cease Dealing With Our Wealth How We Want, Even If You Think We Are Wrong! – An Inheritance from the ancient deniers of the path of the Messengers

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And to the Madyan (Midian) people (We sent) their brother Shu’aib. He said: “O my people! Worship Allah, you have no other Ilah (God) but Him, and give not short measure or weight, I see you in prosperity; and verily I fear for you the torment of a Day encompassing. And O my people! Give full measure and weight in justice and reduce not the things that are due to the people, and do not commit mischief in the land, causing corruption. That which is left by Allah for you (after giving the rights of the people) is better for you, if you are believers. And I am not set over you as a guardian. [Hud. 84-86]

They said: “O Shu’aib! Does your Salat (prayer) (i.e. the prayers which you offer has spoiled your mind, so you) command that we leave off what our fathers used to worship, or that we leave off doing what we like with our property? Verily, you are the forbearer, right-minded!” (They said this sarcastically). [Hud 87]

Commentary on Aayah 87: They said this to mock at their Prophet and to making it known that there was no way they would accept his call. The meaning of their speech is that he nothing necessitates that you forbid us from what we want to do, except that you pray to Allah and worship Him; so if that is that is the case, is it incumbent on us to abandon what our forefathers used to worship due to a statement that has no evidence other than that it agrees with what you hold? So, how can we follow you and abandon the path of our forefathers, who possessed wisdom and sound reasoning? Likewise, your statement does not necessitate that “we leave off doing what we like with our property”, and that we give full weight and measure, and fulfil the rights that are obligated in that; rather we will not cease to do what we want because it is our wealth and you have no jurisdiction in that. So, due to this, they said mockinly, “Verily, you are the forbearer, right-minded!”- Meaning, “are you the one who is forbearing, a possessor of dignity and good character, and that neither is anything uttered by you except guidance towards upright conduct nor do you command except upright conduct, and you do not forbid except misguidance! The affair is not like that”. Their intent by way of this speech is that he is that his character is the opposite of these two characteristics, and that he is foolish and astray.

He said: “O my people! Tell me, if I have a clear evidence from my Lord, and He has given me a good sustenance from Himself (shall I corrupt it by mixing it with the unlawfully earned money). I wish not, in contradiction to you, to do that which I forbid you. I only desire reform so far as I am able, to the best of my power. And my guidance cannot come except from Allah, in Him I trust and unto Him I repent. [Hud 88]

Commentary on Aayah 88: [يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي – O my people! Tell me, if I have a clear evidence from my Lord]- Meaning: I am upon certainty and tranquillity regarding the correctness of [the Message] I have brought. [وَرَزَقَنِي مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا – and He (Allaah) has given me a good sustenance from Himself]- Meaning: Allaah has given me various types of wealth. [وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَا أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ – I wish not, in contradiction to you, to do that which I forbid you]- Meaning: I do not wish to forbid you from [the evil practice of giving lower in weight and Measure by way of cheating in business transactions], yet I myself do the same and eventually you will charge me for doing so; rather I will not forbid you from an affair except that I will be the first person to hasten to abandon it; [إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا الْإِصْلَاحَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ – I only desire reform so far as I am able, to the best of my power]- Meaning: I do not have any other intentions [goals or aims] other than to rectify your state of affairs and the things that are of benefit to you. And because this statement of Shu’aib contains something which may indicate that he is attributing piety to himself, he repels it with the statement [وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ – And my guidance cannot come except from Allah]-Meaning: The ability I have to do good and to refrain from evil is a bestowal from Allaah [The Most High] and it is neither due to my strength nor power; [عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ – in Him I trust and unto Him I repent]- Meaning: I rely on Allaah in all my affairs and suffice myself with Him. I turn to Allaah in all the various acts of worship He has commanded me to draw close to Him by performing good deeds. By way of these two affairs- seeking aid and assistance from Allaah, turning to Him in repentance, complete submission and obedience- a person’s state of affairs becomes upright, just as Allaah [The Most High] said in another Aayah: [فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ– So worship Him (O Muhammad) and put your trust in Him].

And O my people! Let not my Shiqaq cause you to suffer the fate similar to that of the people of Nuh (Noah) or of Hud or of Salih (Saleh), and the people of Lout (Lot) are not far off from you! And ask forgiveness of your Lord and turn unto Him in repentance. Verily, my Lord is Most Merciful, Most Loving.” [Hud 89-90]

They said: “O Shu’aib! We do not understand much of what you say, and we see you a weak (man, it is said that he was a blind man) among us. Were it not for your family, we should certainly have stoned you and you are not powerful against us.” He said: “O my people! Is then my family of more weight with you than Allah? And you have cast Him away behind your backs. Verily, my Lord is surrounding all that you do. And O my people! Act according to your ability and way, and I am acting (on my way). You will come to know who it is on whom descends the torment that will cover him with ignominy, and who is a liar! And watch you! Verily, I too am watching with you.” And when Our Commandment came, We saved Shu’aib and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us. And As-Saihah (torment – awful cry, etc.) seized the wrong-doers, and they lay (dead) prostrate in their homes. As if they had never lived there! So away with Madyan (Midian)! As away with Thamud! (All these nations were destroyed). [Hud 91-95]

O Sensible Ones Amongst non-Muslims of Denmark! Reject Rasmus Paludan’s Vile Intentions

In The name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

In a message posted on Instagram on Thursday, Rasmus Paludan (the vile Far-right rabble-rouser) said that he would burn the Qur’aan in front of a Masjid in Dortheavej, Copenhagen. He identified himself as a Christian in a Christian country. If you reject his vile act, then indeed, you have rejected that which every sensible person would reject. If you agree with him, then indeed, you have agreed with one who abuses the final infallible revelation of your Lord, whose final Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] conveyed Islam to your predecessors.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] himself called the Christians and Jews to believe in him and in that which he brought, just as he also called the Arabs- who had no scripture- and all the other nations. He [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] related from Allaah [The Exalted] that those amongst the people of the scripture and other than them are unbelievers if they do not believe in him and that their abode will be the fire – an evil destination. As for the Jews, they were his neighbours in the Arabian peninsula- at Madeenah and its surrounding areas, and Khyber. Indeed, the Muhaajiroon and the Ansaar believed in him without fighting; rather the signs of Prophethood and the proofs of his truthfulness were manifested to them so they believed in him. Many of those who believed in him were harmed and this is well known in the Seerah. Many Jews and Christians believed in him during his lifetime- some in Makkah and some in Madeenah, and many others were neither from Makkah nor Madeenah.

When he arrived and settled in Madeenah, he made peace treaties with those Jews who did not believe in him, but they broke their treaty so he expelled some of them, fought them and some were killed as a result because they waged war against Allaah and his Messenger. He fought them repeatedly- fought Banu Nadheer and Allaah revealed Surah al-Hashar regarding them; fought Banu Quraydha in the year of the Confederates and Allaah mentioned them in Surah Al-Ahzaab; and prior to that he fought Banu Qaynuqaa; and after them he fought at the battle of Khaybar and the companions who participated in this battle were those who gave the pledge at Ridwaan- under the tree, and they were 1400 in number. Allaah gave them victory at Khaybar and revealed Soorah Al-Fath regarding this. Therefore, how can it be said that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] was not sent except to the Arab pagans, even though this was his situation with the Jews. [https://www.abukhadeejah.com/salafi-shaikh-fawzaan-on-jihaad-in-our-times-and-the-guidelines-of-jihaad-according-to-islam/]

As for the Christians, then indeed the people of Najraan – from Yemen – came to debate with him [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] in his Masjid, so Allaah revealed Surah Aal Imraan regarding them. And when his proofs became manifest and it became clear to them that he is a Messenger of Allaah sent to them, Allaah commanded him that if they do not respond to his call, then he should call them for MUBAAHALAH [Ref 1] [i.e. invoke the curse of Allaah on the liars]. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad) “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 61]

When he called them for MUBAAHALAH, they asked him to give them some time until they consult one another. So they said to one another, “Do not do this, because by Allah, if he is a Prophet and we do this invocation, then neither we nor our offspring after us will be successful”. So they excused themselves from Mubaahalah and agreed to pay Jizyah, because they were scared of his supplication as they knew that he is Prophet. [An Excerpt from ‘Al-Jawaabus Saheeh. Pages 50-51. Slightly paraphrased]

——————————————————–

Ref 1: MUBAAHALAH: Al-Haafidh Ibn Hajr [rahimahullaah] said, “There is a benefit in the story of the people of Najraan, and in it is that Mubaahalah is legislated against the opposer when he persists upon [falsehood] after the proofs have been manifested. Indeed, Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] did call to it, then Al-Awzaa’ee [rahimahullaah] and some of the scholars. And that which is well known from experience is that the affair of one who performs Mubaahalah – whilst he is one upon falsehood – does not extend beyond the year of the Mubaahalah. This occurred between me and a person who was fanatically supporting some of the heretics and after two months he could not stand up”. [An Excerpt from ‘Fat-hul Baari’ 12/195. Slightly paraphrased]

Shaikh Albaanee [rahimahullaah] was asked about the ruling on MUBAAHALAH in relation to worldly matters: Question: The hadith regarding the Najran delegation is well known when they came to the Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], and then Allaah revealed:

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad) “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 61]

So he called them to MUBAAHALAH, but they refused. It is well known to us that MUBAAHALAH is not to be done except in issues related to Aqeedah, but some people amongst the Muslims suggest this ruling in worldly affairs between him and his Muslim brother; meaning, if my Muslim brother owes me money but denies it, then would it be permissible to suggest this ruling between me and my Muslim brother?

Answer: May Allaah bless you. The answer to this question is that it is not permissible to suggest this in such a situation or suggest this Sharee’ah ruling in relation to material issues due to two reasons: Firstly, because this story is related to issues of Aqeedah as you have stated today. Secondly, as for the material issues, then Islaam has legislated a system and principle for it. He [i.e. the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)] said, “The burden of proof is on the claimant and an oath is a duty upon the one who denies the claim”. So, there is no room for Mubaahalah in this affair, which Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] legislated in that affair between His Messenger [peace and blessing of Allaah be upon him] and those Christians of the Najran who denied true Islamic Monotheism and persisted on the Trinity. So, this affair is not suggested in another issue besides this because neither is there a narration of the pious predecessors nor a hadeeth regarding it. However, if it must be done, then it can be suggested when two groups of Muslims differ in some ideas or Aqeedah- for example between the Mutazilah and Ahlus Sunnah. It is possible that if some Mu’tazilee is haughty after discussion and after evidences have been presented, then the Sunnee seeks Mubaahalah from him – that may the curse of Allaah be upon the liars. Therefore, it is possible to suggest this in such an affair. [Ref 2] But as for the question with regards to suggesting this affair in issues related to material dispute, then this is not permissible. [An Excerpt from ‘Silsilah Al-Hudaa Wan-Noor 703’. Slightly paraphrased]

Ref 2: Caution: Do not enter into debate with anyone, rather leave it to those who are firmly grounded in knowledge.

Finally, we repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others. Must read:

How Many Mummies Will They Discover and What Should It Remind Them?!

In the Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exlated] stated:

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 36]

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ۬‌ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَأۡخِرُونَ سَاعَةً۬‌ۖ وَلَا يَسۡتَقۡدِمُونَ – And every nation has its appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment)]. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayah 34]

Reported in the news – (Rajab 4, 1444 Al-Khamees – Corresponding 26th January (Thursday) 2023) – that so called Egyptologists discovered Hekashepes, a 4,300-year-old mummy. This mummy – as they believe – may be the oldest and most complete mummy found in Egypt to date. Among other tombs found was one belonging to Khnumdjedef, an inspector of officials, a supervisor of nobles and a priest during the reign of Unas, last pharaoh of the fifth dynasty. It was decorated with scenes of daily life. Another tomb belonged to Meri, “keeper of secrets and assistant to the great leader of the palace. Seeking God’s Blessing In An Act He Has Forbidden?!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Blessed For Engaging In An Act That Is Forbidden In The Unadulterated Teachings of The Prophets! The Priest and Follower Have Completely Lost Their Minds

A person asked, “Two Christian leaders agree to allow something that is prohibited in the pure teachings of all the Prophets. One of them says that he is happy that some of his brethren in faith – amongst their religious leaders – will be allowed to ‘Offer God’s Blessings’ for two people who seek a marriage contract that is forbidden in the pure teachings of the Prophets, but he will not get involved personally. Is this not absurd or tantamount to making a mockery of religion?!”

Response: Seeking God’s blessings in a forbidden deed?! There is no doubt that the Christian who condones this type of behaviour in the name of God is no different from the Arab pagans! Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

And when they commit a Fahisha, they say: “We found our fathers doing it, and Allah has commanded us of it.” Say: “Nay, Allah never commands of Fahisha. Do you say of Allah what you know not?] Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has commanded justice and (said) that you should face Him only (i.e. worship none but Allah and face the Qiblah, i.e. the Ka’bah at Makkah during prayers) in each and every place of worship, in prayers (and not to face other false deities and idols), and invoke Him only making your religion sincere to Him by not joining in worship any partner to Him and with the intention that you are doing your deeds for Allah’s sake only. As He brought you (into being) in the beginning, so shall you be brought into being (on the Day of Resurrection) [in two groups, one as a blessed one (believers), and the other as a wretched one (disbelievers)]. A group He has guided, and a group deserved to be in error; (because) surely they took the Shayatin (devils) as Auliya’ (protectors and helpers) instead of Allah, and consider that they are guided. [Surah Al-A’raf. Aayaat 28-30]

Allah stated, whilst making known the repugnant state of the Mushrikoon who commit sins and attributed that to something Allaah commanded them. [وَإِذَا فَعَلُواْ فَـٰحِشَةً۬ – And when they commit a Fahisha]- Meaning, everything that is regarded to be indecent and repugnant, including when they performed Tawaaf around the Kabah whilst naked. [قَالُواْ وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡہَآ ءَابَآءَنَا – they say: “We found our fathers doing it]: they told the truth regarding this affair (i.e. that they found their forefathers upon those repugnant deeds); [وَٱللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِہَا‌ۗ – and Allah has commanded us of it], but they lied regarding this other affair and thus Allaah rebutted them for attributing this to Him, saying: [قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ‌ۖ – Say: “Nay, Allah never commands of Fahisha]- Meaning, it does not befit Allaah’s perfection and wisdom to command His servants to commit immorality, whether it is this act committed by the Mushrikoon or other than it. [أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ – Do you say of Allah what you know not?]- Meaning, what fabrication can be more severe than this?! Then Allaah stated: [قُلۡ أَمَرَ رَبِّى بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ‌ۖ – ?] Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has commanded justice] – Meaning, in acts of worship and mutual dealings, and not wrongdoing and injustice. (1)

Imaam Ash-Shanqeetee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: Allaah mentions in this noble verse that when the unbelievers committed evil, they sought to establish it to be truth and something correct by saying that they found their forefathers doing the same, and that they have not done so, except because it is guidance and something correct. Allaah clarified in another verse of the Qur’aan that this is the state of affairs of all the nations (i.e. those who obstinately disbelieved in the Messengers), saying:

[وَكَذَٲلِكَ مَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ فِى قَرۡيَةٍ۬ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا عَلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ۬ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِم مُّقۡتَدُونَ – And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad) to any town (people) but the luxurious ones among them said: “We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps.”] [Surah Az-Zukhruf. Aayah 23]

Allaah rebutted them for this blind following in many verses, such as His statement:

[أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَلَا يَهۡتَدُونَ – Even though their fathers did not understand anything nor were they guided? (Al-Baqarah 170)]

[أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَلَا يَہۡتَدُونَ – even though their fathers had no knowledge whatsoever and no guidance. (Al-Maa’idah 104)]

Even if I bring you better guidance than that which you found your fathers following? (Az-Zukhruf 24)]

Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; so they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. [As-Saffaat. Aayah 69-70] (2)

As for the priest who condones this deed in religion, then indeed, the likes of these people are well know. Read here: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2022/06/09/appeasement-lies-tricks-and-evil-desires-in-religious-affairs-in-our-era/

[Ref 2: Adwaa Al-Bayaan]

None Can Equal Them – Till The End of Time – In Their Fulfilment of The True Characteristics of Men

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Besides The Prophet and Messengers, None Can Equal The Sahaabah – Till The End of Time – In Their Fulfilment of The True Characteristics of Men

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ۬ صَدَقُواْ مَا عَـٰهَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيۡهِ‌ۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحۡبَهُ ۥ وَمِنۡہُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ‌ۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُواْ تَبۡدِيلاً۬ – Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah, of them some have fulfilled their obligations, and some of them are still waiting, and they have never changed in in the least]. [Surah Al-Ahzaab. Aayah 23]

After Allaah mentioned that the hypocrites made a covenant with Him that they will not turn away and that they violated that covenant, then Allaah mentioned the believers’ fulfilment of it, saying: how the believers fulfilled it:

[مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ۬ صَدَقُواْ مَا عَـٰهَدُواْ ٱللَّهَ عَلَيۡهِ‌ۖ – Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah]- Meaning, they fulfilled and completed it perfectly; gave their souls in seeking after His Pleasure and gave themselves in obedience to Him. [فَمِنۡهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحۡبَهُ – some have fulfilled their obligations]- Meaning, what they want and seek after, and the obligation that is obligated on them, so they were either killed in the path of Allaah (see footnote a) or died after having fulfilled what is obligated without falling short in any way. [وَمِنۡہُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ‌ۖ – and some of them are still waiting] – Meaning, to complete what is obligated on them, already occupied with what is obligated and to fulfil their covenant, but they have not completed it yet, whilst hoping to complete it and making great effort to do so. [وَمَا بَدَّلُواْ تَبۡدِيلاً۬ – and they have never changed in in the least]- Meaning, (they have not changed) as others have done, but rather they have not ceased to be upon their covenant – neither turning away nor changing. These are men in reality, and those other than them appear in the image of men, but as for the characteristics (of men in reality), they have fallen short with regards to that. (1)

Ref 1: Tafseer As-Sadi. paraphrased

{ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ }
{ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ }
{ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا }
