Scorpions!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Remember this when defenders of Ahlul Bidah from Jordan or other locations attempt to provoke or start an intellectual battle after the death of the Scholars, especially after the passing of Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Mad’khali, may Allah have mercy upon him and all the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah who have passed away Amin.

Imam Al-Barbahari, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “The likeness of the people of Bidah is that of scorpions burying their heads and bodies in the sand and leaving their tails out; so when they are able they sting. Likewise, the people of Bidah hide themselves within the people and when they are able, they convey what they desire”. [1]

Ameerul Mumineen Umar Ibnul Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: People were (sometimes) judged by the revealing of a divine Inspiration during the lifetime of Allah’s Apostle but now there is no longer anymore [new revelation]. Now we judge you by the deeds you practice publicly, so we will trust and favour the one who does good deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he claims that his intentions were good. [Al-Bukhari 2641]

Imam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baz, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “Whoever manifests good, it will be accepted from him and a good suspicion is held about him. And if he manifests evil, it will held against him and an evil suspicion is held about him”. [2]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee, may Allah preserve him, said: “Destructive Good Suspicion” is to have a good suspicion of the people of falsehood whether are they disbelievers, innovators or evil (open) sinners. And that which led the disbelievers to belie the Messengers, (harbouring) a severe disbelief in them and their message was due to their evil suspicion towards the people of truth (i.e. the Prophets and their true followers), and having a good suspicion of their forefathers and their religions of falsehood and disbelief. Ahlul Bidah such as the Rawaafid, the khawaarij, the soofiyyah, the murji’ah, the qadariyyah and the people of Tahazzub Al-Baatil [false partisanship] are destroyed by good suspicion towards their shuyukh and figureheads, and their corrupt creeds. On the other hand, they are destroyed by their evil suspicions towards the truth and its people. Abul Hasan Al-Maribee and his followers have a share of both this destructive good suspicion and destructive evil suspicion. [3]

Reflections on some statements of Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Mad’khali 88

In The Name of Allāh, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Telephone Link Between Al-Allamah Rabee, may Allah have mercy upon him, and the “Strangers Brigade” dated 2nd Ramadan 1420 AH

Questioner: The brothers here have realised that there is no path to guidance and truth except by returning to the scholars — the scholars of Ahl As-Sunnah — in this era, asking them, and adhering to their statements thereafter. Now, we present to you the most critical issue currently unfolding on the Algerian scene, which is the ongoing conflict between us and the ruling regime for the past eight years. We seek to know your opinion on this matter together with the largest platoon.

We have questions that we urgently need you to clarify the truth for us, so we hope, dear Shaikh, for a thorough and clear explanation. Please open your heart to us and perhaps Allah may guide back to the truth those who have strayed from it, and Allah’s aid is sought!

First question: What is your opinion on the ongoing conflict in Algeria? On what basis do you form your statements and stance, dear Shaikh, knowing that we adhere to the Salafi methodology, uphold the banner of Ahl As-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, and disassociate ourselves from Jama’ah Takfir Wal-Hijrah that commit massacres and atrocities? We also disassociate ourselves from the proponents of illegal partisanship who revolve around elections and partisanship, among other things?

The Shaikh: May Allah reward you with goodness. I am currently preparing to go to the prayer at Masjid Al-Haram. I want to remind you of the fatwas from scholars and Imams of the Sunnah in this era, such as Shaikh Al-Albani, Shaikh Ibn Baz, and Ibn Uthaymeen. Have you heard and read their fatwas?

Questioner: Yes, we have received them, but some doubts have prevented us from benefiting from them, and we need your answers to these, O our Shaikh.

The Shaikh: “Therefore, the answers to these questions will be postponed until I return from prayer at the Masjid Al-Haram”. Then, the Shaikh made another appointment for later that same day. But before the call ended, the Shaikh added: “I have a quick question for you: What percentage of these individuals are Salafis?”

Questioner: They are a large group, O our Shaikh, a very large group!

The Shaikh: Good, if they are Salafis, why didn’t they refer to the scholars before getting involved in this problem?

Questioner: They were actually relying on a fatwa from Shaikh Nasir Ad-Din al-Albani — I mean — an old fatwa, but it has now become clear that it wasn’t — you know — as strong and sound as they thought, and Allah knows best.

The Shaikh: Good, InShaAlllah, in any case, the investigation will continue later.

And at the appointed time, the revolutionaries contacted the Shaikh

Questioner: We would like to inform you that the ones speaking to you now are your brothers from Algeria, specifically the fighters of the “Salafi Group for Preaching and Combat”, and we are part of one of its brigades: “The Strangers Brigade” in Bouira. Of course, we’ll return after having received insights from the scholars, and we would like to present you with some questions. We had already given you the initial part this morning, and now we are providing you with the details, InShaAllah. Generally, I would like to provide you, our Shaikh, with an overview of the events that have transpired from the beginning until today; so that you have a complete picture of what has occurred, InShaAllah.

As you know, our Shaikh, the issue began with the emergence of the “Islamic Salvation Front” on the scene. The concept of partisanship and elections came into play, but then the elections were halted, leading to the events that unfolded during that time. In 1992, a group among the Takferis initiated acts of violence, while the “Islamic Salvation Front”, during that period, was only supporting the fight through media, encouraging the youth to participate. After that, it spread among the brothers that Shaikh Nasir Ad-Din al-Albani had issued a fatwa regarding this fighting, saying: “Hasten! Hasten!” There is an audio recording from that time, amidst the media circumstances and the changing conditions, I mean the youth began to join these fighters in waves.

The Shaikh: Let me hear the tape of al-Albani.

Questioner: What Shaikh?

The Shaikh: Let me hear the words of Shaikh al-Albani where he said “Hasten! Hasten”.  I say: Let me listen to the voice of Shaikh Al-Albani, whose fatwa you have relied upon.

Questioner: The tape is available, but it is based on a reality that does not correspond to the one that the Shaikh was asked about; it did not provide the correct circumstances. It was made to seem to him that there were certain provisions, and that there were 7 million and 3 million, and so forth. Thus, the Shaikh said: “Hasten! Hasten!” as if he understood the opposite of the true circunmstances, leading to the situation that occurred.

The Shaikh: I say, may Allah bless you: Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger, his family, and his companions, and those who follow his guidance. Now, I see that you distinguish between the Salafis and the Takfiris?

Questioner: Yes, indeed!

The Shaikh: From what you’ve said, I understand that you disassociate yourselves from those who declare an unrestricted takfir against the people. Does this imply that you also engage in takfir?

Questioner: Yes, indeed! Yes, indeed! We are not in that manner, but rather in a different way.

The Shaikh: What is your form of takfir?

Questioner: The group declares takfir on the ruler, which is why they have revolted against him.

The Shaikh: The ruler, the army, the ministers, and those around them?

Questioner: Yes indeed! Anyone who joins the ruler’s faction is fought alongside him!

The Shaikh: Do they fight him on the grounds that he is an unbeliever?

Questioner: No, not in the sense of a specific act of disbelief. Not every individual in the faction is considered specifically an unbeliever, O our Shaikh!

The Shaikh: Do you consider the ruler to be an unbeliever at present?

Questioner: Yes, indeed!

The Shaikh: Why do you label him as such?

Questioner: Based on the fact that he has set aside Islamic law and replaced it with man-made laws, and he has fought against Muslims, and Shaikh Nasir Ad-Din al-Albani has issued a fatwa on this matter, as I mentioned to you earlier.

The Shaikh: No! Now, what about the new fatwa from Al-Albani?

Questioner:  The new one? This is where our confusion and bewilderment lie, O our Shaikh!

The Shaikh: Al-Albani declares the rulers of Algeria to be disbelievers? Did Al-Uthaymeen or Al-Fawzan say that the rulers are disbelievers? Laa Hawla Walaa Quwwata Illaa Billaah!

Questioner: They did not say that, O our Shaikh.

The Shaikh: Good, and you believe that their disbelief is evident and that there is a proof from Allah, as if they said that Islam is not suitable, that it is backward, and that these laws are better than Islam. Did they say this?

Questioner: We have not heard this from them, O our Shaikh.

The Shaikh: Therefore, you have no clear evidence that they are unbelievers upon a clear (blatant) disbelief. This should be treated according to what has been mentioned in the hadiths that have been transmitted from Allāh’s messenger, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, about the Muslim’s stance towards a deviated ruler – the rulers whose good deeds you know and approve and disapprove of their evil deed, about whom he (the Prophet) was said: “They are guided by other than my guidance and follow a path other than my Sunnah”. And there are many hadiths on this matter to the extent that when the Prophet was asked: “Should we fight them?” He replied: “No, not as long as they establish prayer among you”. This means they deviate while in Islam to the very end. If they continue to pray and claim to be Muslims, they should not be fought or rebelled against. Do you understand these points?

Questioner: We listen to you, our virtuous Shaikh, and we are learning from you now.

The Shaikh: Yes, may Allah bless you, study these hadiths, study the statements of the scholars, and study the speech of Al-Albani. You must seek knowledge. Then I ask you: after eight years, what are the fruits of this fighting? What have the Muslims gained from this Jihad?

Questioner: So far, nothing, Shaikh!

The Shaikh: How many have been killed, how much wealth has been lost, how many rights have been violated, and so on?

Questioner: A lot! A lot!

The Shaikh: So many! So many! You have supported this situation, you have backed the Takferis who shed blood, and they have been emboldened by your, and you aided them. You say that you are Salafis and that you oppose their views, but they benefit from your support, and their boldness (in committing crimes) against this society increases through you, crushing them, leaving them with neither (practice of the) religion nor worldly possessions! Is Islam pleased with these qualities?!

Questioner: No, our Shaikh! We have indeed had conflict and disputes with them.

The Shaikh: What led the Algerian people, including its youth, students, and others, to embrace Salafism? Was it this current situation or the time of the revolution and turmoil?

Questioner: The current situation is not better!

The Shaikh: Good, you fought to improve the situation compared to what it was?

Questioner: Yes, indeed! Yes, indeed! It’s an evil situation, O our Shaikh, it’s an evil situation until now!

The Shaikh: Do you not find a lesson in this?! Isn’t this proof that this jihad stemmed from ignorance, and (dubious) Fatwas, we ask Allah for safety. They did not seek guidance from scholars, and instead took the wicked ones – ignorant ones- as leaders – who issue rulings without knowledge, leading themselves and others astray, and they did not stop at misguidance only, but went further to spill blood and destroy Islam. Islam has been severely and horrifically destroyed in Algeria due to the actions of these people!! Perhaps if they had not rushed and had approached knowledge with insight, the Islamic state in Algeria might have been a reality. However, due to their ignorance and ill intentions—because their motives are corrupt and they seek only power—they do not aim to elevate the word of Allāh. They desire to ascend to the pinnacle of governance, which is why they have created elections, democracy, and empty rhetoric. Their only focus is on wrestling with the rulers, and their sole concern is to reach the heights of power. After achieving that, they turn their backs on Islam, just as their counterparts have done in Sudan, Turkey, and elsewhere.

If these individuals were to gain power, they would increase fear and oppression among the people, straying further from Islam…So now… take heed from what has transpired, and roll up your sleeves to gain knowledge and guide this good nation back to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger, so that it may return to its former state before this turmoil, and then advance towards achieving the goals that Islam aspires to.

Questioner: Our Shaikh! According to your statement, it seems that one cannot declare a ruler to be a disbeliever, even if he rules by laws other than what Allah has revealed, until the scholars make such a judgment.

The Shaikh: Yes! The scholars must first see a clear act of disbelief, and then after the fatwa is issued, the question arises whether to fight or not; because Allah says:

وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَمِن رِبَاطِ الخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ

And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy.  [Al-Anfal 60]

This applies if they are disbelievers. I had some young men come to me at the beginning of this conflict, and I asked them: Have you prepared for battle, considering they are disbelievers in your eyes? They replied: No! I said: You do not have power, while they possess aircrafts, tanks, and so much more, backed by Britain, America, and all the other nations. You have nothing at your disposal, so you haven’t prepared the necessary measures to instill fear in the enemy of Allah. Instead, you have only prepared what encourages the enemy of Allāh against you and Islam. Even if the ruler is openly a disbeliever, in Algeria or elsewhere, it is essential to refer to the scholars. They are the ones who can assess the benefits and harms, determining when fighting is justified and when it is not, and so on. It should not be left to the foolish, the ignorant, or those with ambitions for power. This is a mistake, and you have seen the consequences of this recklessness.

You must repent to Allah, the Exalted, for you may not escape accountability before Him regarding the blood that has been shed, the honour that has been violated, and the wealth that has been stolen and plundered. So turn to Allah with a sincere repentance — may Allah bless you — for you bear the responsibility before Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, because you have participated with these people. Therefore, repent to Allah with a sincere repentance for what has happened to the rights of the Muslims… the oppressed. Then roll up your sleeves, for Allah accepts repentance. And roll up your sleeves in earnest pursuit of knowledge, and call upon your brothers who remain in the mountains to repent and return to Allah. Convey to them the likes of this. The motivation behind sharing this excerpt stems from a conversation I had with Ustaadh Zaid Khalid, may Allah preserve him, on Monday. We discussed how even senior scholars refer their elders, during which he recounted an incident and provided me with this Youtube video in which Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Mad’khali, may Allah have mercy upon him, directed these individuals to the Fatwa of the senior scholars prior to addressing their doubts.

Believer’s Bahaviour Towards Muslim Rulers – [Supplicates For Them….]

Reflections on some statements of Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Madkhali 87

The Wasiyah of Shaikh, Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Umayr Al-Madkhali, may Allah have mercy on him, who passed away on the night of Thursday, the 15th of Muharram, 1447 AH. His (Janazah) prayer was performed in the Prophet’s Mosque at dawn on Thursday. He was buried in the Baqi, may Allah have mercy on him and grant him a spacious abode in Paradise.

The text of the Shaikh’s Wasiyah

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Indeed, all praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His assistance, and ask for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and from the evils of our deeds. Whomever Allah guides, there is no one to misguide him, and whomever He (abandons) to stray (due to their own fault), there is no guide for him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. To proceed:

O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah. [1]

O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you. [2]

O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise). [3]

Indeed, the best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The worst of all matters are the newly introduced ones (in the religion), and every newly invented matter (in the religion) is a Bidah, every Bidah is misguidance and every misguidance is in the fire.

This is a Wasiyah for all the Muslims – from a weak servant (of Allah) who is about to leave this worldly life and approaching the Hereafter – to fear Allah as He should be feared, hold firmly to His rope altogether, not to be divided and not to divide their religion; for in the fear of Allah and holding firmly to His rope – the Book (i.e. the Qur’an) and the Sunnah – (depends) their happiness and Siyadah in this worldly life (ie. honour, nobility, upright leadership, dominance, authority in this worldly life) and the Hereafter (i.e. honour, safety in the Hereafter); and in division and diferring lies their humiliation and disgrace. Their unity and cohesion cannot be accomplished through anything except the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Therefore, it is (incumbent upon) them to adhere to this great means (or determinant) that leads to happiness in both this worldly life and the Hereafter, and steer clear of what opposes it, (such as) division and differing, which are both the cause of misery and humiliation in this worldly life and the Hereafter.

I advise the Salafis – and they are the ones distinguished through adherence to the Book and the Sunnah, and calling to both of them – that they intensify their efforts in rectifying the conditions of Muslims in (terms) of creed, worship, politics, economics, society, and other aspects of Muslim life that should all be based on the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. They should make this clear to all the Muslims and highlight their good intentions and objectives, and that they desire nothing else for this Ummah except goodness – every goodness – and that they do not desire except to repel all evils and Makruh (harm, injury, mishap etc) that have befallen this Ummah due to their distance from adherence to the Book and the Sunnah.

I advise the students of knowledge and the scholars [من مختلف الاتجاهات – adhering to the different perspectives, viewpoints] to fear Allah with regards to their Ummah, and to strive with all they are able to return the Ummah to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and to that which the pious predecessors were upon in terms of creed, worship, politics, social matters, and manners; and that they should completely distance from (vain) desires and the causes of differing that has gravely harmed the Ummah. It is high time for these people to rise to accomplish these noble goals and to steer Muslims away from anything that leads them to weakness and humiliation. The latter part of this Ummah can only be rectified by what rectified its first part. It is (incumbent upon) everyone to understand that this Ummah did not attain superiority over all other nations except that it is the best nation brought forth for mankind, enjoining good, forbidding evil, and believing in Allah.

The early Muslims – the companions and those who followed them in righteousness- attained this Khayriyyah (superiority or virtue over other nations) based on the testimony of Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: “The best of the people are those living in my generation, then those who will follow the latter and then those who come after them. Then there will come after them people who will be treacherous and will not be trustworthy, they will bear witness without being asked to do so (a), and they will vow, but will never fulfil their vows, and fatness will appear among them”. (b) (4)

And his, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, statement: “The righteous (pious people will depart (die) in succession one after the other, and there will remain (on the earth) useless people like the useless husk of barley seeds or dates; and Allah will show no concern for them”. (5)

Therefore, it is (incumbent upon) the bearers of knowledge to advise for the sake of Allah, His Book, His Messenger, for the (welfare) of believers, for (the welfare) of Muslims in general and in specific, in order that Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, may rescue those among the Muslims who are in a state of Al-Ghutha (i.e. a state tantamount to uselessness, insignificance, etc) and degradation because there is no other reason for this except due to the distance many among them are from adhering to the Book of Allah and seeking judgment from Allah and His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. If they declare this with diligence and truthfulness, it will lead to great goodness for this Ummah.

We ask Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, to fulfill this and to keep all causes of humiliation and disgrace away from the Muslims, (distanced from) the causes of division, envy, animosity, and hatred, whose effects are felt (observed, perceived) by everyone who wishes good for this Ummah.

Dictated by Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Madkhali On the Thursday evening of 25th of Dhul-Hijjah, 1420 AH.

Written by his student and son, Khalid bin Dhuhai Al-Dhafiri. And he ordered me to publish it in every place, in newspapers and elsewhere.

The Wasiyah of Shaikh, Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Umayr Al-Madkhali, may Allah have mercy on him (was) written at the end of the year 1420 AH during a time when he was severely ill, may Allah have mercy on him. He dictated it to Shaikh Khalid Adh-Dhafiri while he was on his bed in Al-Awali in Makkah, may Allah forgive him and grant him a place in the highest paradise. [https://rabee.net/9155-2/]

Translator’s addition:

(a) Al-Allamah Rabee, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated in Marhaban Yaa Talib Al-Ilm pages 268-270: They give false testimony, act treacherously and deceitfully. They behave in a very sinful manner and follow evil desires, except those whom Allah safeguards amongst the Ta’ifatul Mansurah– those whom Allah’s Messenger, and blessings of Allāh be upon him, praised. Therefore, it is obligated to us to acquire knowledge for the sake of Allah and act upon it. Ignorance is a deadly disease and knowledge is a weapon that will destroy you if you do not act upon it, and Allah’s refuge is sought.

Regarding the statement, “They will bear witness without being asked to do so”. Imam An-Nawawi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “This can mean that they bear witness before being asked, or they bear witness based on falsehood, or they give witness without being from those who are worthy of it”. [Sharh Sahih Muslim 12/17)]. However, there is another Hadith in which the Prophet stated: “Should I not inform you about the best of witnesses, they are those who bear witness before being asked”. The scholars say that what is intended by this hadith is for example: someone has a witness to give on behalf of another person based on truth, but the person does not know about it, so he informs the person about it; or for example, a person has already passed away and another person knows what the deceased person has left behind as inheritance, so he bears witness to that and makes it known. [Fat-hul Baari 5/260]

[b] Regarding the statement, “And fatness will appear among them.’’ – Meaning: These people give importance to the means of fattening themselves – food, drink and over-indulgence. Their only concern is their bodies and fattening themselves. As for being fat without choice, one cannot be blamed for that, just as a person cannot be blamed for being tall, short, black or white. Europe’s bias – A deserved rebuke directed at Eric R Mandel (Jerusalem Post) – (3)

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [An-Nisaa. 135]

Eric said: There is no fog of war for the Europeans. For the EU, Israel is disproportionate in its actions from October 8 on. This, despite the head of the Urban Warfare Institute in West Point, John Spencer, saying, “In my long career studying and advising on urban warfare for the US military, I’ve never known an army (IDF) to take such measures to attend to the enemy’s civilian population, especially while simultaneously combating the enemy in the very same buildings. In fact, by my analysis, Israel has implemented more precautions to prevent civilian harm than any military in history – above and beyond what international law requires and more than the US did in its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.” [end of quote]

Response: What a ridiculous statement! No matter what the EU or others critical of Netanyahu's forces claim, the devastation in Gaza and the staggering loss of life clearly indicate that this John Spencer is either delusional or utterly insane. How can one witness the death and destruction in Gaza and still assert that the IDF takes the utmost precautions to prevent civilian casualties?! It is astonishing that a military, which boasts the capability to target its enemies from thousands of miles away and eliminate them, fails to prevent the deaths of countless children, unarmed men and women, and ends up bombing hospitals, ambulances, journalists, schools, universities, doctors, and academics. Furthermore, some Zionist politicians are notorious for making dangerous remarks that are evident on the battlefield. Read some of the dangerous statements uttered by some of the Zionist figureheads. https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2025/07/02/would-you-have-permitted-these-idf-allies-to-visit-a-country-where-you-are-the-leader/

Secondly, how amazing it is that Eric draws a parallel between the IDF and the USA military? The American military, under the influence of their ideologues and demagogues, stands as one of the foremost aggressors of this century, serving as the primary allies of the Zionists. Neither the IDF surpasses the American military, nor does the American military surpass the IDF. This comparison is perhaps the most amazing we have ever encountered, as it merely juxtaposes two aggressors in terms of which one perpetrates a lesser crime, while both are recognised as oppressors. Any diligent researcher will uncover a wealth of information regarding the aggressions committed by the United States military; indeed, it suffices to note that they are the only military to have ever deployed an atomic bomb against others.

As for the incidents in Gaza, we’ll suffice with the following picture messages:

Thus, it falls upon Eric to maintain integrity and to abstain from any efforts to misinterpret the truth, as this would be synonymous with dishonesty. Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

When a proof that supports the truth is manifested and the one who wants to repel it finds no way of doing so, he refrains from mentioning it and thus becomes a silent devil, and sometimes he distorts it. Distortion is of two types -distorting words and meanings. Distorting words occur when one utters a word in a context in which it does not establish the truth – either adding to the word, omitting something from it, or substituting it with something else to the extent that the listener is made to believe something, whilst something else is intended. Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Beware of kadhib [lying], for indeed it corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information based on what it should be in reality. It corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information and his ability to teach the people. The liar portrays what is non-existent as something present and what is present as something non-existent. He portrays truth as something false and falsehood as something true; he portrays good as evil and evil as good, so this corrupts his conception and knowledge, which then becomes a punishment upon him. Then he portrays what is not true to the one deceived by him – the one who is inclined towards him- so he corrupts his conception and knowledge. The soul of the liar turns away from the existing reality -inclined towards what is non-existent and gives preference to falsehood.

And when his conception and knowledge is corrupted, which is the basis of every wilful chosen deed, his deeds become corrupt and marked by lies, so those deeds would emanate from him just as lies emanate from the tongue- he neither benefits from his tongue nor his deeds. This is why lying is the basis [or foundation] of immorality, as the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “Indeed lies lead to immorality [or wickedness] and indeed immorality [or wickedness] leads to the fire. [Bukhaari 2606/2607]

Firstly lies emerges from the heart and then on the tongue, so it corrupts it; then it transfers to the limbs and corrupts its actions, just as it corrupts the statements of the tongue. Therefore, lying prevails over his statements, deeds and state of affairs; corruption becomes deeply rooted in him and its disease leads to destruction if Allaah does not grant him cure him with the medication of truthfulness, which uproots its (i.e. lying) from its original source.

This is why the basis [or foundation] of all the deeds of the hearts is based on truthfulness; and the basis of their opposites – such as showing off, self-amazement, pride, being glad [with ungratefulness to Allaah’s Favours], conceitedness, boastfulness, insolence, weakness, laziness, cowardice, disgrace and other than them- is lies. The origin of every righteous deed- whether carried out in private or public- is based on truthfulness. And the origin of every corrupt deed – whether carried out in private or public- is lies.

Allah punishes the liar by preventing him from those affairs that will bring him well-being and benefit, and He rewards the truthful one by granting him the ability to attain the beneficial affairs related to the worldly life and afterlife. There is nothing similar to truthfulness with regards to the manner in which it bring about the affairs of wellbeing in this life and the next, and there is nothing similar to lying with regards to the manner in which it corrupts and harms one’s worldly affairs and the afterlife. [Allaah (The Most High) said]:

[ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ – O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds) [9:119] [هَٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنْفَعُ الصَّادِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ- This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth. [5:119]

[ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ الْأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ – And when the matter (preparation for Jihad) is resolved on, then if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them. [47:21]

And those who made excuses from the Bedouins came (to you, O Prophet) asking your permission to exempt them (from the battle), and those who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat at home (without asking the permission for it); a painful torment will seize those of them who disbelieve. [9:90] [2]

In articulating these sentiments and chastising Eric for his pronounced sense of self-entitlement and ludicrous emotional appeals, rather than confronting the truth and admonishing Netanyahu to cease the genocide, we wish to emphasise that no rational individual would endorse Hamas’s actions against non-combatants on October 7. In this context, Prince Turki Al-Faisal has issued a statement that serves as a stern condemnation of both Netanyahu’s administration and Hamas. Europe’s bias – A deserved rebuke directed at Eric R Mandel (Jerusalem Post) – (2)

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Exalted, said:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [An-Nisaa. 135]

Eric said: The rising hatred of Jews and Israel in Europe:

According to a report in the Washington-based news service Jewish Insider, “The French Interior Ministry released a report titled ‘Muslim Brothers and Political Islam in France,’ calling the Muslim Brotherhood an ‘imminent threat’ to French national security….calling on Paris to recognize a Palestinian state and recalibrate its policies towards Israel to ‘appease’ France’s growing Muslim population. [end of quote]

Response: This above statement presents a combination of three matters that ought not to be combined; nevertheless, it is anticipated that individuals like Eric and his associates will engage in such mixing due to their urgent need to conceal the truths of each issue, subsequently drawing conclusions that depict all of them as detrimental. To begin with, concerning the innovated group (the Muslim Brotherhood – Ikhwanis), they pose a more significant threat to Muslim nations than to Europe and other regions. Their situation is well known, thus further discussion is unnecessary; instead, please refer to the provided links.

http://www.ikhwanis.com/articles/ojtehmv-the-baatinee-movements-secret-organizations-and-the-muslim-brotherhood.cfm http://www.ikhwanis.com/authors/Abu.Iyaad.cfm

However, it is important not to slander the Ikhwanis or to exaggerate their actions, nor should facts be hidden to promote Netanyahu’s agenda or the objectives of the Zionist lobby in the United States and certain European countries. While the Muslim Brotherhood is indeed a dangerous group, any statements made about them should be grounded in truth rather than Zionist propaganda. Likewise, although Netanyahu’s Zionist regime is a dangerous and destructive one, any claims made about it must be verified.

Secondly, regarding the term political Islam, its interpretation varies based on the individuals involved in activities associated with this phenomenon. Moreover, it is essential to clearly differentiate between the innovated political activity of deviant sects and the politics that is sanctioned by Shariah law. Read https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2024/12/07/political-islam-and-islamists-the-manipulation-of-terminology-by-ideologues/

Thirdly, establishing a Palestinian State is merely a small part of the issue; the core problem lies in Netanyahu’s Zionist mindset of superiority, his delusional ambition for a greater Zionist state stretching from the river to the sea, along with land theft and various atrocities. For the past 70 years, Palestinians have suffered in ways no other nation has, under successive Zionist regimes in Palestine. Thus, the demand for a Palestinian state is the bare minimum among the far more significant demands that have persisted for seven decades. Therefore, whether certain Muslims in France partake in activities deemed threatening by the French government, or whether they identify as ikhwanis in their approach to the Palestinian issue, does not absolve any European country from its responsibility to not provide military aid or intelligence to the Zionists, which is utilisd to oppress Palestinians. Rgardless of the threats France anticipates and the various misguided methods some Muslims employ to advocate for Palestinian rights, all these actions are separate from the obligations Netanyahu has towards the Palestinians. His responsibilities remain intact, whether he faces criticism or receives praise. Eric and his ilk should stop adopting a victim mentality and blaming those who do not support Netanyahu sufficiently, instead, they should take the appropriate action by using their writing skills to call for a permanent ceasefire and an end to the genocide and bloodshed. If this is not accomplished, we question whether they retain even a shred of conscience.

Eric said: Years before October 7, 2023, the European political Left’s hostility toward Jews and Israel was steadily growing from the fringes and now resides in the halls of power. Where once the animosity was spoken in hushed tones, today Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez unapologetically refers to Israel as a “genocidal state,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian accuses Israel of a “long-lasting apartheid,” and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy accuses Israel of “ethnic cleansing.” There is almost no context given or condemnation of Hamas without, in the same breath, an expression of moral equivalence. [End of quote]

Response: Regardless of whether these politicians align with the left, right, center-right, center-left, or any other classification, and irrespective of whether they maintain these views indefinitely, temporarily, or alter their stance in an instant, none of this can obscure the undeniable truth that Netanyahu embodies a genocidal maniac. The entire world observes the unfolding events in Palestine. Furthermore, even though the actions of Hamas against non-combatants on October 7 are unequivocally condemned, however, no individual possessing even a shred of decency can deny that Netanyahu’s ideology and his actions in pursuit of such extreme retaliation represent an unprecedented occurrence in modern history. Consequently, the various terms employed to characterise his atrocious crimes against the Palestinians are entirely justifiable. He is unable to depict the situation in any manner other than what is evident to the entire world. Allah, The Exalted, stated:

And of mankind, there is he whose speech may please you (O Muhammad), in this worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of the opponents. And when he turns away, his effort in the land is to make mischief therein and to destroy the crops and the cattle, and Allah likes not mischief. And when it is said to him, “Fear Allah”, he is led by arrogance to (more) crime. So enough for him is Hell, and worst indeed is that place to rest! [Al-Baqarah. 204-206]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: This Ayah serves as evidence that the statements uttered by individuals are not proof regarding their truthfulness or whether they are upon falsehood, righteous or wicked until they are ascertained by their deeds. It is obligatory to examine the condition of those who bear witness, the one who is right and the falsifier among the people based on the righteousness of their deeds – examine the clear indications and their behaviour, and do not be deceived by how they portray themselves and the praise they give themselves. [Tafsir As-Sadi]

Eric said: British political commentator Douglas Murray sees Europe’s criticism of Israel not as a principled defense of human rights but as a politically convenient, morally inconsistent, and often deeply biased perspective. He contends that much of the European hostility toward Israel masks more profound antisemitic sentiments and is partly driven by a desire to absolve historical guilt over Europe’s complicity in the Holocaust. He accuses European media of disproportionately focusing on Israeli actions and underreporting atrocities elsewhere, with European intellectual and political elites grandstanding their condemnation of Israel. European nations rarely condemn Hamas or Palestinian leadership with the same intensity as they condemn Israeli actions, even when Israel is responding to terrorist attacks. [End of quote]

Response: The statement above once again reveals, as clearly as the midday sun, the victim mentality exhibited by numerous Zionist defenders and their irrational and ludicrous sense of entitlement. No matter the intentions of European politicians or the bias Eric perceives against the Zionists, it is important to note that it was the ancestors of Europeans who supported the Zionists for an extended period, granting them land and properties that were taken unlawfully. If Europeans start to regret this historical event, similar to how they have lamented the oppression their ancestors imposed on the Jews, they should take steps to halt Netanyahu’s actions and advocate for compensation for the Palestinians, just as they have supported reparations for Jews who suffered under the Nazis. This represents true justice and should not be one-sided. Oppression is unacceptable, regardless of who the victim or the oppressor may be. The Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stated that Allah stated: “O My servants! I have prohibited oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another.” [Sahih Muslim 2577]

The Initial Rise and Gradual Impact of Christian Zionism on Some European Political Decision-makers

An Overview of Christian Zionism in America Since the Arrival of The Puritans

However, despite the lingering guilt that Europe feels for the oppression their ancestors inflicted upon the Jews, this does not imply that they should endorse Netanyahu’s oppressive actions. No rational individual would back an oppressor simply because he seeks restitution that also turns him into an oppressor. Why must Palestinians endure Zionist brutality simply because certain Zionists claim that any criticism of Netanyahu and calls for Palestinian rights equate to a reflection of Europe’s historical anti-Semitism? [Footnote a] The fact that Jews faced oppression at the hands of Europeans does not imply that Europeans should remain silent regarding the atrocities perpetrated by Netanyahu in the name of the Jewish people. No individual with even a shred of common sense and decency would condone this.

Moreover, describing how infrequently others criticise Hamas as “rarely” is a significant falsehood, as Hamas consistently remains a central topic in the media, and Netanyahu frequently uses them as a justification in his quest for the unrealistic Zionist dominance by all means necessary. Also successive Zionist governments have been notorious for acts of terrorism since 1948, committing heinous acts and severe violations. Nevertheless, this does not imply that we refrain from condemning Hamas or any other organisation for targeting unarmed civilians and non-combatants. Prince Turki Al-Faisal provided a strong criticism of both Hamas and Netanyahu’s regime. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3-cWyFcK5w

In this article, we aim to briefly examine the perspectives of the author as a reminder of what is intentionally being overlooked to justify the excessive retaliation that ensued following Hamas’s attack on non-combatants and civilians on October 7th. It is undeniable that Hamas, or any group identifying with Islam, cannot be condoned for inflicting harm on civilians or unarmed individuals, just as the various Zionist administrations in Palestine cannot evade accountability for their actions against the Palestinians since 1948 and particularly after October 7th. In our humble opinion, no one has yet provided a more deserving rebuke to both Hamas and Netanyahu’s administration than Prince Turki Al-Faisal, may Allah preserve him. Listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3-cWyFcK5w

Now, we will cite Eric’s statements and provide some commentary on them.

Eric Stated: Europe’s anti-Israel bias: The EU’s problem with Jews and the Jewish state – opinion. [end of quote]

Response: Zionist anti-Muslim propaganda and self-entitlement: The Zionist problem with Muslims and the Muslim Ummah – opinion.

Eric stated: They say: One can rationalize the cowardice of the European position, as it is dealing with its own growing Islamist population and the demographic decline of its indigenous citizens. [end of quote]

Response: One can rationalise the destructive stubbornness of Netanyahu’s Administration, as it continuously disregards the moral outrage and fierce opposition from the masses against his brutality and the global decline of his propaganda efforts. Regarding the mention of the Muslim population in Europe, Eric should have pointed out that if Europe had not colonised numerous Muslim countries, there might have been a different kind of interaction between Europe and the peoples of those former colonies. Furthermore, even if there was a decline in Europe’s indigenous population, it seems far-fetched to believe that the author genuinely cares about the welfare of Europe. Instead, what often deeply concerns Zionist apologists is their anxiety over a Europe composed of a population that no longer aligns with their interests, or at the very least, a Europe influenced by a segment of its citizens that might influence their governments to immediately stop the crimes of Netanyahu. However, the author will never acknowledge this; instead, he resorts to fearmongering to incite nationalistic feelings. The right course of action for Netanyahu’s Zionists is to confront their issues rather than seek out supporters to aid them in perpetuating their genocide and undermining Palestinian sovereignty.

Eric stated: When have you heard a European leader demand that Hamas surrender, stop using its civilians as human shields, stop using its mosques, schools, and hospitals as staging grounds, or require the terrorist leadership to leave the Gaza Strip without creating a moral equivalence between Israeli and Hamas actions? The answer is “Rarely,” and that includes the first few weeks after the atrocities of October 7, before Israel had even begun its campaign to uproot Hamas. [end of quote]

Response: When have we ever heard a member of Netanyahu’s government call for the IDF to cease its killings of Palestinians, rather than using self-defense as a justification? It’s remarkable that a government boasting the most powerful secret service, capable of infiltrating enemy nations and executing targets from thousands of miles away, struggles to confront Hamas right at its doorstep. If Hamas employs human shields, the IDF has also resorted to similar tactics; in fact, they can still implement the Hannibal code and the Dahiyah doctrine. They have also utilised white phosphorus in the past. Read below:

Has the use of white phosphorus in occupied Palestine ever been attributed to Zionists?

While Hamas’s actions on October 7 cannot be condoned, similarly Netanyahu genocidal actions cannot go on in the name of self-defense. Rather than attempting to protest moral equivalence to rationalise his actions under the pretext of Hamas’s crimes against non-combatants, he should immediately halt the killings. Furthermore, the events of October 7 are merely one in a long line of confrontations dating back to 1948, and Zionist atrocities are well-documented. Read below:

A message from a war criminal to the world – [Engaging in a dialogue with Jane Kiel]

Eric stated: When America’s ambassador to the UN, Dorothy Shea, vetoed a June 2025 UNSC resolution calling for Israel to accept a ceasefire leaving Hamas in place, which every nation on the Security Council, including the French and British, voted in favor of, she told the Security Council: “We would not support any measure that fails to condemn Hamas and does not call for Hamas to disarm and leave Gaza…We cannot allow the Security Council to reward Hamas’s intransigence. It is Hamas that continues to threaten Israelis and puts Palestinian civilians in Gaza in harm’s way, using them as human shields…It is inexplicable that many members of this council still refuse to acknowledge that Hamas could end this conflict tomorrow by surrendering and laying down its arms. It is unconscionable that the UN still has not labeled and sanctioned Hamas as a terrorist organization.” [end of quote]

Response: This statement does not require a response, as it merely reiterates the same narrative we’ve been hearing from Zionists, American demagogues, ideologues, rabble-rousers, and misguided evangelists.

Eric stated: One can rationalize the cowardice of the European position, as it is dealing with its own growing Islamist population and the demographic decline of its indigenous citizens. The cross-section of Muslims in Europe ranges from Pakistanis and Bangladesh natives in England, to the Algerians and Tunisians in France, to the Turks and Syrian refugees in Germany. Despite their differences, the one thing the Islamic immigrants overwhelmingly agree about is a visceral hatred of Jews and the Jewish state. [end of quote]

Response: This statement is a sweeping generalisation. What exactly is an Islamist, and what threat do they represent? Wat does Eric mean by an Islamic immigrant?! Is it someone who engages in terrorist activities, an individual who stands against genocide, a person accused of anti-Semitism, or an immigrant who practices Islam without breaking the laws of their host country, or perhaps the children of immigrants like us who were born in Europe? Eric has not provided any clarification in this section as the aim of the discourse is propaganda—a blend of truth and lies, emotional manipulation, and a victim mentality designed to elicit sympathy in a way that they do not deserve. Regarding the term Islamist and other terms used by those who deceive to obscure the truth, please visit the link: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2024/12/07/political-islam-and-islamists-the-manipulation-of-terminology-by-ideologues/

O slumbering Muslim educators and parents! – The objectives extend far beyond excellent examination results

A Guideline To Remember When Analysing The Language That The Child Brings Home From School

One of the general fundamental principles (in Islam) is to know that words are two types: words that are mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah, and it is obligated to every believer to affirm them; affirm what Allah and His Messenger have affirmed, and negate what Allah and His Messenger have negated. The words affirmed by Allah are truth and the ones Allah negated are (negated) in truth because Allah speaks the truth and guides to the straight path. The words of the divine Islamic legislation are sanctified and it is part of perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the (sound meanings) which the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated, because it is obligated to us to believe and bear witness to everything he has stated, and follow him in everything he has commanded. As for the words that are neither found in the Qur’an and Sunnah, nor did the pious predecessors hold a consensus regarding whether they are negated or affirmed, it is not incumbent upon anyone to agree with the one who negates or affirms them until its intended meaning is explained. If its intended meaning agrees with the (creed, revelation, commands, prohibitions etc) conveyed by the Messenger, it is affirmed; but if its intended meaning is in opposition, it is rejected. [1]

Critically Examine The Language and Ideas of The RE Teacher

Al-Allamah Salih al-Fawzan, may Allah have preserve him, said:

Indeed, Allah created (Jinn and humankind) and gave them an innate disposition to recognise Tawhid, obey Him and worship Him alone; but they differed – some of them believed and others disbelieved. Allah said:

He it is Who created you, then some of you are disbelievers and some of you are believers].

Allah wishes belief and well-being for them, but shaytan and the callers to evil wish disbelief and evil for them. Allah [The Exalted] said:

Allah wishes to make clear (what is lawful and what is unlawful) to you, and to show you the ways of those before you, and accept your repentance, and Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise. Allah wishes to accept your repentance, but those who follow their lusts, wish that you (believers) should deviate tremendously away from the Right Path.

Due to this, Allah sent the Messengers, revealed the Books and established His proofs, thus, there are those amongst humankind who accept the truth and embrace faith by choice, and there are those who reject the truth and embrace disbelief by choice. Indeed, Allah has laid down the differences between the believers and unbelievers in this life and the next, and He forbade that the two groups are made equal. Allah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] has set out recompense and judgment for each of the two groups in this life and the next. He has given a distinguished name to every group, such as [Mumin – believer], [Kaafir- disbeliver], [Barrun- upright/righteous one], [Faajir – evildoer], [Mushrik- Polytheist], [Muwahhid- Monotheist], [Faasiq- sinner], [Munaafiq- hypocrite], [Mutee’un – an obedient one] and [Aasee- a disobedient one]. And He [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] forbade that equality is made between these differing names and attitudes. Allah said: [أَمۡ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجۡتَرَحُواْ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن نَّجۡعَلَهُمۡ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ – Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds].
Allah said: [ أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ كَٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ نَجۡعَلُ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ كَٱلۡفُجَّارِ – Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, as Mufsidoon (those who associate partners in worship with Allaah and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the pious ones, as the Fujjaar (criminals, disbelievers, wicked, etc)- Meaning, we have not made them equal because that does not befit Allah’s Justice.

Should we abandon the words (Kufr, Shirk, Kuffaar and Mushrikeen) found in the Qur’an, the Sunnah and the Books of Islamic creed? This will be a violation of the Book and the Sunnah, and an opposition to Allaah and His Messenger. By changing the real meanings of the Shariah terms, we will be from those who distort the Book of their Lord and the Sunnah of their Messenger. Then what defence can be given for (such a crime)? Is it to please the unbelievers?! The unbelievers will never be pleased with us until we abandon our religion. Allah [The Exalted] said: [وَلَن تَرۡضَىٰ عَنكَ ٱلۡيَہُودُ وَلَا ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَہُمۡ‌ۗ – Never will the Yahood nor the Nasaaraa be pleased with you [O Muhammad Peace be upon him] till you follow their religion].

Allah said: [ وَدُّواْ لَوۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ كَمَا كَفَرُواْ فَتَكُونُونَ سَوَآءً۬‌ۖ – They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another)].

If the intention of those who call for the substitution of the Shariah terminologies is to show gentleness to the unbelievers and to have good dealings with them, then this cannot be (done) by changing such Shariah terminologies; rather it can only be (done) through what Allah has legislated regarding their affair. This comprises of the following affairs:

To invite them to Islam – the religion Allah has ordained for all of humankind. Allah said:

[ٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ وَٱلۡمَوۡعِظَةِ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِ‌ۖ وَجَـٰدِلۡهُم بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحۡسَنُ‌ۚ – Invite (mankind, O Muhammad) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islaam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur’an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better]. Therefore, we invite them (to Islam) for their rectification and happiness in this life and the next.

To make peace with them if they seek that. Allah said: [وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلۡمِ فَٱجۡنَحۡ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ – But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower].

Similarly, to make peace with them if the Muslims are in need of making peace, and when there is an overriding benefit for the Muslims in making peace, just as the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] made peace with the unbelievers at Hudaibiyyah. And by virtue of peace, diplomacy is (established) between them and the Muslims.

Not to be hostile towards them without due right. Allah said:

And let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah].

To behave well towards those of them who behave well towards the Muslims- those who neither kill nor drive Muslims out of their homes. Allah said:

Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity].

To have permissible beneficial dealings with them; in trade, exchange of beneficial information and utilization of the worldly sciences, and things that are of benefit in our lives.

To fulfil contacts made with them, and to honour the blood, wealth and rights of the Mu’ahideen (i.e. those non-Muslims who have a treaty with the Muslims) because it is binding upon them to (fulfil their covenants with the Muslims) and the Muslims are to (fulfil their covenants with them). Allah said:

So long, as they are true to you, stand you true to them.

And the ones forbidden to be killed are the Muslim and the Mu’ahid [i.e. the non-Muslim who has a treaty with the Muslims]. And indeed the Prophet said about the killing of a Mu’ahid, “Whoever kills a Mu’ahid will not even smell the fragrance of paradise and its fragrance can be smelled from the distance of forty years away”. [Bukhari: No: 3166]

And whoever kills a Mu’ahid by mistake, it is as if he has killed a Muslim by mistake. He must pay blood money as expiation. Allah said: [وَإِن ڪَانَ مِن قَوۡمِۭ بَيۡنَڪُمۡ وَبَيۡنَهُم مِّيثَـٰقٌ۬ فَدِيَةٌ۬ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ وَتَحۡرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ۬ مُّؤۡمِنَةٍ۬‌ۖ – And if he belonged to a people with whom you have a treaty of mutual alliance, compensation (blood money – Diya) must be paid to his family, and a believing slave must be freed]. [Footnote a]

Finally, I advise these ones [those who called for a change of the Shariah terminologies] to repent to Allah. They should not enter into an affair which they have neither mastered nor is it [something] they have specialized in, because that would be tantamount to speaking about Allah without knowledge. Indeed, Allah stated:

And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge.

Allah said:

Say (O Muhammad): (But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawaahish (great evil sins, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allah for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allah of which you have no knowledge.

Allah placed speaking about Him without knowledge at a level above shirk due to its seriousness. And if it the case that these ones are aware of the subject matter regarding specialist knowledge and that a person cannot enter into that which is not his domain, just as one does not enter into the affair of medicine because it is not his domain, then why do they enter into the affairs of the Shariah, rather they enter into the most serious affairs of the Shariah, and that is the subject matter of creed, even though it is something they are not specialised in. I do not desire anything from this [speech] except to give advice and clarification. [2]

An Example of Beneficial Communication to Meet Lofty Goals

Truly, the Qur’an provides a clear illustration of righteous individuals who were granted authority by Allah in both the East and the West, benefiting His slaves, like Dhul Qarnayn, peace be upon him. Allah stated about Dhul-Qarnayn:

ثُمَّ أَتۡبَعَ سَبَبًا
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ بَيۡنَ ٱلسَّدَّيۡنِ وَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمَا قَوۡمً۬ا لَّا يَكَادُونَ يَفۡقَهُونَ قَوۡلاً۬

Then he (Dhul-Qarnayn) followed (another) way, until he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word. [Al-Kahf. 92-93]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: They could not understand due to their foreign language, their foreign way of comprehending, and the manner in which their hearts perceived matters. Nevertheless, Allah granted Dhul-Qarnayn, peace be upon him, the means to the knowledge through which he comprehended the language of these people and facilitated communication between them. Consequently, they complained to him regarding the harm perpetrated by Gog and Magog, two big nations descended from Adam, peace be upon him. Allah said:

They said, “O Dhul-Qarnayn! Indeed, Gog and Magog [Yajuj and Majuj] are spreading corruption throughout the land. Should we pay you tribute, provided that you build a wall between us and them?” He said, “What my Lord has provided for me is far better. But assist me with resources, and I will build a barrier between you and them. Bring me blocks of iron!” Then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountains, he ordered, “Blow!” When the iron became red hot, he said, “Bring me molten copper to pour over it”. And so they could neither scale nor tunnel through it. He said, “This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will level it to the ground. And my Lord’s promise is ever true”. [Surah Al-Kahf. 92-98] [3]

Behold the illustration of how those exceptional individuals harnessed their talents for the betterment of society. This stands in sharp opposition to the savagery exhibited by many colonisers, who were notorious for their extreme cruelty, exploitation, and injustice during the periods of conquests and domination. Those seeking information on this topic will discover a plethora of resources available. Language was used as a means to indoctrinate and wage an ideological battle against Muslims.

Even prior to the successive invasion of many of our lands, some ideologues and demagogues had already planned their ideological war against Islam and Muslims. After King Louis IX was captured in 1250 during his participation in a crusade against the Egyptian Muslims, a substantial ransom was paid for his release. Nevertheless, during his captivity, he utilised his time to devise plans against Islam and its followers. These schemes included the substitution of the physical with a battle of ideologies and cultural dominance. Additionally, he aimed to undermine the beliefs of Muslims and tarnish Islam’s image in the world. [4]

Therefore, a Muslim educator has an arduous task to combat this ideological onslaught, especially when language is manipulated—employing words and phrases that can embody both truth and falsehood, or terms that carry specific meanings yet are wielded without clarity, independence, or precision. We constantly come across instances where a single term may convey multiple interpretations whose ambiguity is exploited. Similarly, there are many instances when learners come across two words that may share partial meanings, yet the cultural crusader deliberately obscures the more distinct realities that would otherwise delineate truth from falsehood. Furthermore, one must be alert to the fact that in circumstances where a term transforms alongside the traditions and bad behaviour of society, a new challenge emerges when those very words, which once represented no harm, become associated with meanings and behaviour that the Creator does not permit.

Social Sciences

One of the most formidable challenges we encounter as educators in the realm of some social sciences, particularly those encompassing both virtue and vice, lies in the nuanced terms shaped by contextual interpretations. These terms, susceptible to manipulation by those with ulterior motives, can be wielded to convey a multitude of meanings – upright and corrupt. Such individuals endeavour to compel educators to embrace all interpretations concurrently, a notion that starkly contradicts the foundational principle of accurate designation rooted in the texts of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. In this infallible sacred framework, each meaning is meticulously assigned a distinct designation, accompanied by its commendable and condemnable attributes as delineated by the infallible divine legislation. However, any attempt to do so is labelled intolerance.

The Reality

There is no doubt that upright Muslim educators have encountered pivotal events during the past 400 years, which significantly shaped the emergence of some upright reformers. Throughout this period, they have observed a deliberate attempt – by colonialists and neocolonialists – to maintain the agenda of severing the ties of Muslim identity by systematically erasing its religious and cultural heritage that aligns with Islamic tenets, all orchestrated through an educational framework tailored to serve un-Islamic goals. Consequently, many of us were educated under this paradigm in Africa and other places, thus, we experienced a troubling stagnation and a notable cultural decline, particularly in the fields of education and pedagogy. This decline stands in stark contrast to a rich educational discourse rooted in sound beliefs and the enduring principles of Shariah. However, the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah, throughout the ages, have consistently acknowledged the imperative of countering the detrimental effects of this phenomenon and the spread of un-Islamic ideas. They have championed educational reform and the refinement of pedagogical practices, alongside advocating for both religious and societal transformation. Drawing upon the rich tapestry of Islamic intellectual heritage, these scholars have utilised the Islamic educational legacy as a beacon for future advancement. Their efforts have borne remarkable fruit, exemplified by figures such as Shaikh Al-Islam, Muhammad Ibn Abdil Wahhab, may Allah have mercy upon him, who called for a revival of authentic beliefs and the methodology of the righteous predecessors—principles that once served as the bedrock of strength and progress.

The Family

The role of the family in this educational paradigm is paramount, wielding the authority and legitimacy to shape the psychological, emotional, and cognitive development of the child. The child is viewed as the cornerstone of the Islamic civilizational endeavour, grounded in emotional values that reflect sound beliefs, adherence to the Sunnah, intellectual freedom within the parameters of the infallible Shariah, and a profound sense of responsibility. These values were vital in molding our social consciousness and safeguarding our Islamic identity, principles, and sacred tenets. Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, stated:

The rectification of every nation and its (upright) ascendancy is tied to the soundness of its creed and views; therefore, due to this reason, the Message of the Prophets, peace be upon them, was convyed to rectify the creed [of the people]. Thus, the first thing every Messenger said to his people [was]:

[ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُ- Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)]. [Al-A’raf.59]

[وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِى ڪُلِّ أُمَّةٍ۬ رَّسُولاً أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ‌ۖ – And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah)]”. [Al-Nahl. 36]

And this is because Allah, Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections, created the Khalq [i.e. Jinn and Mankind] to worship Him alone and not to associate anything as a partner with Him, just as [Allah (The Most High)] said: [وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ -And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)]. [Adh-Dhaariyaat. 56] [5]

Consequently, as parents and teachers, we have to constantly bear in mind that the absence of a clearly articulated educational policy rooted in the principles of the righteous predecessors precludes any possibility of meaningful change, advancement, or societal well-being. There is, therefore, a persistent demand for a proactive stance, emphasising the need to adapt to contemporary developments while consistently implementing measures that uphold sound beliefs and fidelity to the authentic Sunnah. This does not imply a rejection of modern methods aimed at improving performance and ensuring convenience.

In conclusion, it is imperative to recognise that the guidance of a principled Muslim educator is essential for achieving a harmonious agreement on the development of cohesive reform initiatives, firmly anchored in an authentic Islamic paradigm. This approach must also be adaptable enough to address the nuanced, contemporary challenges posed by harmful non-Islamic cultural influences, all while embracing the advantages offered by scientific and technological progress. However, neglecting the Islamic sciences in favour of the worldly sciences will not liberate us from the intellectual domination that persists in numerous Muslim regions. As Imam As-Sadi, may Allah’s mercy be upon him, wisely articulated:

Indeed, it is impossible to rectify the souls and acquire virtue solely through the worldly sciences. Experience and clearly witnessed circumstances are the greatest proofs regarding this affair, because despite its advancement and vastness it has been unable to nurture and rectify the souls [i.e. upon excellent traits, manners, dealings, characteristics, sound creed etc] which are the determinants of [sound] rectification and success. What the Religion of Islaam propagates is that which is entrusted with this rectification; it is what will guide the thoughts towards the truthful and authentic sources of knowledge, guide the actions of the people towards good and prevent them from evil. Islam is the rectifier of the creeds and manners- the thing that cultivates the thoughts , urges towards virtuousness and prevents from depravity. The essence of that which the religion calls to – regarding belief in the Unseen, which includes belief in Allah and that which He possesses of Names, Attributes and Actions of perfection; belief in Angels, belief in recompense for one’s good and bad deeds in this life and the next, which cannot be known except through the Messengers, is what acquaints a person with the fact that rectification – in reality – is not possible through other than sound belief and the religion of Islam.

Therefore, even if the worldly sciences rectify (some) matters based upon that which people know in detail, it will still not be equal to the knowledge of the Messengers. It will neither reach that which is reached through the knowledge of the Messengers nor can it influence the souls in the manner in which the knowledge of the Messengers has done; for indeed the souls do not voluntarily submit except through belief in Allah, belief in His Angels, belief in His Books, belief in His Messengers and belief in the hereafter. And without this, voluntary submission is impossible, as is well known regarding human nature. [6]

He also said: Industrialisation and modern inventions: Everyone has participated in it – the righteous, the wicked, the believer and the disbeliever. As for religion and [virtuous] manners, then indeed -in this era-, it has greatly declined. So, when this industrial advancement is devoid of religion and Iman, it became a great harm from two angles: Firstly: It beguiled many people, who – due of their ignorance – think that worldly advancement is proof to show that its people are more worthy of achieving every good than others. They are clearly misguided, for indeed a person might be from the most skillful in affairs related to the material world, whilst he is one of the most ignorant people in affairs related to the deen, virtuous manners and the [other] beneficial affairs in this life and the next. Secondly: When these inventions are devoid of Deen, its mercy and wisdom, it becomes a great disaster for humankind due to the wars that resulted from them, killing, destruction and other affairs related to it. Its regulators [or overseers] and scholars are unable to laydown – for humankind -a stable, just and good life, rather they have not ceased moving from one misrable state to another. This is inevitable and the continuous state of affairs shows that [to be the case]. Therefore all good is found in the sound religion and all evil is found in rejecting and willfully denying [Allah, His Messengers, His Laws, Guidance, Commands, Prohibitions etc] [7]

The conscientious educator is acutely aware that the cultural setbacks we continue to experience have caused numerous young Muslim teachers to stray from the robust principles that could restore the Islamic educational framework to its illustrious past. While it is frequently asserted that colonialism has unleashed a multitude of ills, the slumbering teacher – the one in denial or whose aim does not extend beyond excellent examination results- must recognise that the true challenge lies in the deviation from the teachings of the righteous predecessors. As Imam Malik, may Allah bestow His mercy upon him, wisely articulated: “The latter part of this Ummah [i.e. those who will come after the pious predecessors] will not be rectified except by way of that which rectified it’s earlier part.’’ [8]

Nevertheless, in addition to the ongoing appeal for a revival of the principles established by the righteous predecessors in all facets of life, and despite the resistance encountered from both some non-Muslims and uninformed Muslims, reformers will arise every century. The Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him- said, “Allah will raise for this Ummah at the end of every hundred years the one who will revive its religion for it”. [9]

“Allah will raise for this Ummah”– Meaning, the Ummah Al-Ijaabah (the Muslims). “At the end of every hundred years”– Meaning, at the end of every hundred years when there is little knowledge of the Shariah and the authentic Prophetic Sunnah, while ignorance and innovation in religious matters is rife. “One who will revive its religion for it”– Meaning, a scholar who is alive and well known. He will clarify the authentic Prophetic Sunnah and distinguish it from Bidah. knowledge will be abundant again and its adherents will be aided, and the proponents of Bidah will be overcome and degraded. This reviver is none else but a scholar who has a sound understanding of the religious sciences that deal with acts of worship, the underlying wisdom of the religion, and the texts that deal with beliefs of the heart. [10]

And Allah knows best

O you who believe! So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [An-Nisaa. 135]

When you testify by way of a statement to judge between people, differentiate between them in a discourse, and speak regarding matters and circumstances, be just in your speech, adhere to truthfulness regarding those you love and those you hate, be fair and do not conceal what needs to be made clear because it is forbidden and tantamount to injustice to divert (from justice and fairness) when speaking against the one you hate. “No kings in America!”

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

And their Prophet (Samuel) said to them, “Indeed Allah has appointed Talut (Saul) as a king over you.” They said, “How can he be a king over us when we are better fitted than him for the kingdom, and he has not been given enough wealth.” He said: “Verily, Allah has chosen him above you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah grants His Kingdom to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Sufficient for His creatures’ needs, All-Knower.” [Surah Al-Baqarah 247]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: He [i.e. Talut] was given deep insight and physical strength by way of which he was qualified for his position as king, because if he has deep insight and the ability to implement the right decision, he will be able to fulfil this role in the most perfect manner; but if he lacked one of the two, he would not be able to do his job properly. If he was physically strong but lacked deep insight, then a king would be unsuccessful in running the affairs of the kingdom, because his strength would not be utilised wisely. If he had deep insight but did not have the strength to implement any decisions, his insight would not benefit him because he would not be able to achieve anything. [1]

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said, “The Kings who ruled the eastern and western regions of the earth were two believers and two disbelievers: the two believers were Prophet Sulayman and Dhul Qarnayn, and the two disbelievers were Namrood and Bukhtanasar”. [2]

The Greatest King of all Time (Prophet Sulayman), The Ant, The Hoopoe, The Upright Scholar, The If’reet and The Intelligent Queen!

Hudhayfah reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “The Prophethood will remain amongst you for as long as Allah wills it to be. Then Allaah will raise it when He wills to raise it. Then there will be the khilaafah upon the Prophetic methodology. And it will last for as long as Allaah wills it to last. Then Allaah will raise it when He wills to raise it. Then there will be biting kingship, and it will remain for as long as Allaah wills it to remain. Then Allaah will raise it when He wills to raise it. Then there will be tyrannical (forceful) kingship and it will remain for as long as Allaah wills it to remain. Then He will raise it when He wills to raise it. Then there will be a khilaafah upon the Prophetic methodology”. Then he (the Prophet) was silent.

Affirmation through the divinely revealed text that Mu’aawiyyah was the first king in Islaam, and that from his time, hereditary kingship was the mode of rule, and that Allaah gives the rule to whomever He pleases. And that after the Prophetic khilaafah a biting type of kingship appeared, one in which Islaam was not applied completely in all areas. It was in this midst that the innovations of the Qadariyyah and the Murji’ah also appeared. Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah explains (Majmoo’ 10/354)

The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “The khilaafah after me is thirty years, then there will be biting kingship” and for this reason Mu’aawiyah said, “I am the first of the kings”, from the risaalah of Abi Zayd al-Qayrawaanee (1/96). What is the meaning of this hadeeth?

This hadeeth has been related by Imaam Ahmad in al-Musnad, al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, Abu Ya’laa in al-Musnad, Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh and at-Tirmidhee in as-Sunan. And the meaning of the hadeeth has been explained by al-Haafidh (Ibn Hajar) in al-Fath, he said: “He meant by the khilaafah, the khilaafah of prophethood (i.e. the thirty years), and as for Mu’aawiyah and whoever came after him, then they were upon the way of the kings (i.e. kingship) even if they are named “khalifahs”. What Leadership Involves! Read below

A sad reality

Set me over the storehouses of the land….

In conclusion, concerning the individual who ascribes to Islam and asserts, “No kings in America”, we are not claiming that he entirely dismisses the concept of kingship unless we encounter a statement from him that suggests such a perspective. Instead, the purpose of this article is to inform our children that kingship is not prohibited, and what should be prioritised is a stable governance rooted in the infallible justice of the Qur’an and Sunnah, as interpreted and implemented by the companions, fair treatment of all individuals and dealing with such leader according to the Sunnah of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Regime change – Beatified path to chaos, death, and destruction

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَإِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡ هَـٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنً۬ا وَٱرۡزُقۡ أَهۡلَهُ ۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٲتِ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ مِنۡہُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ‌ۖ

And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said: My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day]. [Al-Baqara. 126]

Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah protect him, said:

He (Ibrahim – peace be upon him) prioritized security in his supplication over the pursuit of sustenance because security is an essential requirement. Without security, individuals cannot truly enjoy sustenance, as fear undermines the ability to attain it. This is precisely what adversaries aim for—those who seek to destabilise Muslim societies. They wish to create division among Muslims and weaken their unity behind their leaders. This is what they desire – in the guise of promoting beneficial outcomes, rectification, and the alleviation of oppression. They do not desire good advice for the Muslims.

This is all false pretenses, as the absence of rulership would lead to widespread chaos, the proliferation of corruption, and the failure of the promised benefits. Corruption would become rampant, and rectification would be unattainable. Consequently, it is imperative for Muslims to unite under a leadership structure. Even if such leadership exhibits flaws and negligence, the populace should practice patience, as this patience serves to avert greater harm and adversity. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “It is not known of a group that has ever risen against their Muslim ruler without their circumstances deteriorating further after his removal.” This observation is evident in contemporary times. What is the situation of the countries where the rulers and heads of state have been removed? There has not ceased to be fear, anxiety, chaos, and bloodshed etc. [1]

This underscores the significance of safety as a fundamental necessity for individuals. Otherwise, Ibrahim, peace be upon him, would not have persistently sought Allah’s assistance in establishing it in this land. Consider the regions where a system that ensures safety has deteriorated. In such places, the populace struggles to manage their daily affairs; schools and markets remain closed, and individuals are confined to their homes. Those who have the means often seek to escape to safer locations. When inquiring with one of them, it becomes evident that they feel unable to coexist with their community and family in an environment devoid of safety.

Security can only be effectively established through two key principles: the implementation of Allah’s Laws and obedience to the rulers. The Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, elucidated this essential matter for Muslims in their lives. Irbad Sariyah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, delivered an admonition after the morning prayer—an admonition that instilled fear in our hearts and brought tears to our eyes. A man then asked, ‘Is this a farewell sermon, and what counsel do you offer us?’ He replied, ‘I enjoin on you to fear Allah and to listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your ruler. Indeed, those among you who live long enough will witness many differences. Therefore, be cautious of newly introduced matters in the religion, for they lead to misguidance. Whoever among you observes such occurrences is obliged to adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs, holding firmly to it with your molar teeth.’” [Ahmad 3/126]

This hadith lays the foundations for security within Islam, which consists of two primary components. The first is fear of Allah (The Most High), understood in its fullest and most comprehensive sense. The second component is the adherence to the rulers in matters that are just and beneficial. The fear of Allah fosters a Muslim’s relationship with Allah, their neighbours, and the surrounding environment. Conversely, the absence of Allah’s Shariah leads to chaos and moral decay. Indeed, Allah (The Mighty and Majestic) has issued a warning to those who forsake His Shariah and disobey His Messenger. Allah said:

And Allah puts forward the example of a township (Makkah), that dwelt secure and well content; its provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it (its people) denied the Favours of Allah (with ungratefulness). So Allah made it taste the extreme of hunger (famine) and fear, because of that (evil, i.e. denying Prophet Muhammad) which they (its people) used to do. [Al-Nahl. 112]

Listening to and obeying the rulers in a (positive manner) ensures that an individual’s affairs within society remain orderly. This act of compliance is intrinsically linked to fear of Allah. Al-Hasan Al-Basri, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “Indeed, Al-Hajjaaj is a manifestation of Allah’s punishment; therefore, do not attempt to counteract Allah’s punishment with your own hands. Instead, it is essential to submit and exhibit humility, as Allah, the Most High, has stated:

[وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُم بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ – And Indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allaah) with submission to Him]. [Al-Muminun. 76]

You see a person who possesses a true understanding of security and his awareness is increased through fear of Allah, thus, he is eager to obey the rulers. However, when there is a lapse in their piety, their sense of security may diminish. Once fear of Allah is established, they they will attain the promise that Allah has mentioned (as follows):

Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). [Al-Nur 55]

The lack of obedience to the ruler and prioritizing personal interests over that of the ruler is among the most significant factors leading to the corruption of both the land and its inhabitants, as well as a deviation from the path of righteousness and guidance. Al Hasan Al Basri, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated, “By Allah! The establishment of religion is only possible through rulers—despite their potential for tyranny and oppression—because they rectify numerous matters through their governance that outweigh the corruption they may cause.” Imam Ibn Rajab, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated, “The worldly life holds significant benefits when rulers are followed. Through this obedience, the essential matters concerning the sustenance of the populace are established, enabling them to utilize these means as support in demonstrating their faith and fulfilling their obligations to their Lord.” Read: http://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-tyranny-of-the-rulers-a-reason-for-rebellion/

Disregarding the authority of rulers and prioritizing oneself through conflict or other means equates to defying Allah and His Messenger, as well as opposing the principles upheld by Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah, the righteous predecessors. The maintenance of security fosters unity and cooperation among Muslims. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, stated:

إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So, make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy. [Al-Hujurat. 10]

Allah, The Most High, said:

The believers, men and women, are Auliya’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma’ruf, and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar; they perform As-Salat and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. [at-Tawbah 71]

Iman is neither a matter of wishful thinking or superficial assertions; it is a conviction that resides in the heart, evidenced by one’s actions. A true believer cannot be considered as such until he desires for his Muslim brother what he desires for himself and interacts with others in a manner he wishes to be treated. It is universally acknowledged that security is a fundamental aspiration for all; thus, it is incumbent upon a Muslim to actively seek the security of others in order to attain security and safety for himself. Furthermore, maintaining security within a community requires the fulfillment of trusts, while creating an atmosphere of insecurity equates to betrayal. Allah, the Most High, has stated:

O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you). And know that your possessions and your children are but a trial and that surely with Allah is a mighty reward. O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty. [Al-Anfal. 27-29]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “They [i.e. Ahlus Sunnah] know that Allah sent Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, for the benefit of the creation in this life and the next, and Allah commands rectification and not corruption”. (2)
