A Brief History Of The Salafi Da’wah In The UK and How It Spread At The Hands Of Du’āt – [By Ustaadh Abū Humayd Sālim]: A Timely Reminder

In the Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A timely reminder, especially from one who is well acquainted with reality, a witness to many affairs for a very long time and one who worked closely with the well known elder teachers – before and whilst studying at Muhammad Ibn Saud University (Faculty of Sharee’ah). May Allaah bless Ustaadh Salim, strengthen unity upon the sound Manhajus Salafi and protect us from Kibr, Ujub and Dalaal Aameen.

A Brief History Of Salafi Dawah_By_Ustaadh_Saalim

Till When Will You Peddle The Bold-Faced Lie That Issues Between (Masjid al-Furqan/Masjid Abi Hurairah) and Markaz at-Tawheed Is Personal and Not Related to Manhaj?!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Umar [may Allaah be pleased with him] said, The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “People were (sometimes) judged by the revealing of a Divine Inspiration during the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger but now there is no longer any more (new revelation). Now we judge you by the deeds you practice publicly, so we will trust and favour the one who does good deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he claims that his intentions were good”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari. Number 2641]

Jeylani and Uthmaan at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)

Read here about Jeylani and his associates: https://www.aqidah.com/creed/articles/hlujn-abu-taymiyyah-jeylanis-student-and-the-principles-of-jahm-bin-safwaan.cfm

As for Uthmaan, then indeed it is enough that he is an allied with the obstinate illegal partisans of Greenlane. Read here once again what Salafipublications has been warning against for a very long time, yet the blind think that the issues between the Salafiyyoon and Greenlane Allies in Stoke is personal.

Reminder about Greenlane

This is the companionship of Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke on Trent). Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) said, the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, “A person is upon the religion of his friend, so let each one of you look at whom he befriends”. [As-Saheehah: 97] Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu-anhu) said: Indeed a person walks alongside and accompanies the one whom he loves and who is like him. (Al Ibaanah 2/476] Al A’maah (rahimahullaah) said: They (the Salaf) did not used to ask anything more about a person after having asked about three affairs: Who he walks with, who he enters upon (i.e. visits) and who he associates with amongst the people”. [Al Ibaanah 2/478] Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu anhu) said: Make consideration of the (regions of the) earth by the names given to them and make consideration of a person by his companion”. [Ibaanah 2/497] Mu’aadh Bin Mu’aadh said to Yahyah bin Sa’eed, “aa Abaa Sa’eed! A person may hide his viewpoint from us, but he will not be able to hide this in his son or friend or in one whom he sits with”. [ Ibaanah 2/436] [Translated by Spubs]

Indeed, Markaz at-Tawheed shelters and allies with the hizbiyyoon of Greenlane and their associates, even though they claim to be upon the authentic Sunnah. Allaah [The Most Most High] said:

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ
ڪَبُرَ مَقۡتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُواْ مَا لَا تَفۡعَلُونَ

O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do. [Surah As-Saff. Aayaat 2-3]

Therefore, when you enter Stoke On Trent, then know without any doubt that there are only two Masjids – [Masjid Al Furqan (105 Roundwell St, Tunstall ST6 5AW) and Masjid Abi Hurairah (North Rd. ST6 2BP) – that are free from all the hizbiyyoon of Greenlane and their allies. We also ask Allaah to guide them or protect us from their falsehood Aameen.

Imaam Albaani [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “It is not hidden from every Muslim who is acquainted with the Book, the Sunnah and that which our pious predecessors were upon that the Tahazzub (Illegal partisanship) and gathering amongst the groups that carry different views or different methods (of Dawah) has nothing to do with Islaam; rather in many Aayaat of the Qur’aan our Lord (The Mighty and Majestic) has prohibited us from that. Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِڪِينَ
مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمۡ وَڪَانُواْ شِيَعً۬ا‌ۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡہِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

”And be not of Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, polytheists, idolaters, etc.). Of those who split up their religion (i.e. who left the true Islamic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid’ah), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.” [30: 31-32] [Fataawaa Al-Muhimmah Fee Tabseeril Ummah. Page:118]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “There is nothing in the Book or the Sunnah that allows different groups and parties; rather that has been censured in the Book and the Sunnah. Allaah (The Most High) said: [فَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَہُمۡ زُبُرً۬ا‌ۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡہِمۡ فَرِحُونَ – ”But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief.”] [23:53]

And there is no doubt that these parties oppose that which Allaah has commanded. Allaah (The Most High) said:

إِنَّ هَـٰذِهِۦۤ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ وَأَنَا۟ رَبُّڪُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ

”Truly! This, your Ummah [Sharia or religion (Islamic Monotheism)] is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me (Alone).” [21:92] [ Fataawaa Al-Muhimmah Fee Tabseeril Ummah. Page:120]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “It is obligated on the scholars to clarify the reality. They should debate every group and give advice to all, so that they can traverse upon the path Allaah has ordained for His slaves, and the path which His Messenger Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) called to. And whoever oversteps this path or remains upon obstinacy, then it is obligatory to expose him”. [Fataawaa Al-Muhimmah Fee Tabseeril Ummah. Page: 116]

This Admin of Markaz at-Tawheed – once again – is judged based on their companionship, allies and associates. Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) said, the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, “A person is upon the religion of his friend, so let each one of you look at whom he befriends”. [As-Saheehah: 97] Ibn Mas’ ood (radiyallaahu-anhu) said: Indeed a person walks alongside and accompanies the one whom he loves and who is like him.

Imaam Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Regardless of what you many receive of praise and respect from the people, they judge the people by their associates. Therefore, it is befitting that a person takes pride in accompanying the best of the people and beware of the evil ones. A righteous companion is like a seller of musk; he either gives you some or you get a good smell from him. And the evil companion is like the blower of the bellows, he either burns you or you receive a bad smell from him. And Allaah knows best”. [Noorul Basaa-ir Wal-Albaab Fee Ahkaamil Ibaadaat Wal-Mu-aamalaat Wal-Huqooq Wal-Aadaab: page: 66]

Finally, we say to the Admin of Markaz At-Tawheed: Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi al-Mad’khali [may Allaah protect him] stated: “All of you hold onto the Rope of Allaah [i.e. The Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah]- Allaah will aid you in this and make you like the sun; return to the understanding of the righteous predecessors, and it is, as I said to you, transmitted (and established) in your presence. This is a challenge to those who oppose this. We are challenging ahlul bidah wal ahwaa [the proponents of innovation in religious affairs and followers of desires] in their creed and politics. We say, between us and you is the (path, understanding of the) pious predecessors and books (of the pious predecessors). Ahmad [i.e. Imaam Ahmad] used to say to the proponents of innovation in religious affairs, “Between us and you are the funerals (i.e. whose funeral will be attended by ahlus sunnah in great numbers)”. We say (i.e. at present), “Between us and you are the books (of the pious predecessors)- the books are present!

Allaah said to His Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]: [قل فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ – All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel made unlawful for himself before the Taurat (Torah) was revealed. Say (O Muhammad ): “Bring here the Taurat (Torah) and recite it, if you are truthful”]- So they bring the Torah and you proof them to be upon falsehood. We bring the books of the pious predecessors – the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the books of Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasaa’ee, and what was authored by Ahmad and others; we bring them (to prove) those who are on the path of these (pious predecessors) and those who turn away and oppose them. Just as Allaah challenged the Jews to bring the Torah, so the Torah was brought and they were exposed them, (likewise), we challenge these people to bring the books of the pious predecessors, so that the innovator in religious affairs is exposed, and to clarify who the deviants are- whether us or them? Are they able to challenge? Can they open their mouths like this? We fill our mouths with courage – challenge everyone who says that we are upon other than methodology of the pious predecessors. We, by Allaah, call to the methodology of the pious predecessors- to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. We use the book of Allaah and the Sunnah as proof for our beliefs, our acts of worship, dealings with rulers and their subjects, in dealing with the groups and sects. As for the others, they are upon tricks, deception etc By Allaah, you will not find with them anything but tricks and manipulating the emotions of youth”. Paraphrased. [12] Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa – [The Pottymouth Vile Hater]: Conclusion of Section 1 of This Series With a Reflection On Al-Allaamah Ubaid’s Precise Observation, Tribute to Upright UK Salafi Senior Students and The Maraakiz

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Few years ago when Abu Eesa Niamatullah unleashed his vile tirade against the Salafiyyoon, Shaikh Abu Iyaad exposed his reality as follows: “There is a difference between Yasir Qadhi and Abu Eesa Niamatullah. Yasir Qadhi is smarter and shrewder in knowing how to play politics in the public da’wah scene in order to maintain (apparent) consistency. Abu Eesa Niamtullah is dumb and has with him a certain bruteness that strips him of any semblance of aql (intellect). You only need to prod him once and the “pathological hatred” he harbours (whilst accusing others of it) pours out like water out of a jug, and that which he accuses the Salafis of (of unjust rulings on people), pours out freely, without hindrance from his heart and soul with the ferociousness of a lion, yet the thought and intelligence of a domestic turkey. That’s what has happened in short of a few days, and these are realities that Abu Eesa Niamatullah has revealed about himself in short of three pages worth of Facebook rants. This series of articles is an elaboration upon this reality, and whilst some may protest these descriptions we are using here, we are only describing what a man reveals of himself through his speech and action. Further, what are these words of ours compared to what you are going to read from Abu Eesa Niamatullah in the articles to follow? Yes, that’s a question you should start asking now, so that you anticipate the shock before it comes. Go ahead, read Part 3 and try telling us we haven’t spoken the truth. [End of quote] Read full article: http://www.salafis.com/articles/sbnafnr-evaluating-the-claim-of-salafiyyah-by-abu-eesa-niamatullah.cfm

Indeed, at present we witness the same behaviour from the hater Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa, so here – before quoting the precise description given by Al-Allaamah Ubaid regarding Usaamah’s state of affairs, we borrow some of Shaikh Abu Iyaad’s words, whilst attempting to apply some of it to Usaamah’s affair. We say, “Usaamah is dumb and has with him a certain bruteness that strips him of any semblance of aql (intellect). You only need to prod him once and the “pathological hatred” he harbours (whilst accusing others of it) pours out like water out of a jug, and that which he accuses the Salafis of Haddaadiyyah, Khaarijiyyah, Hizbiyyah, pours out freely, without hindrance from his heart and soul with the ferociousness of a lion, yet the thought and intelligence of a domestic turkey. That’s what has happened in short of a few days, and these are realities that Usaamah has revealed about himself recently. We have already responded to his madness in the following links”.

[11b] Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa – [The Pottymouth Vile Hater], Reality of That Which His False Tabdee Necessitates and Calling Him – Between Us and Him – to Invoke The Curse of Allaah Upon The Liars!

Finally, contemplate on that which vile – slanderous – Usaamah has stated about us without an iota of proof – (neither cited a single error of ours that would warrant Tabdee nor a single sound principle to back up his satanic claim that we are Haddaadiyyah, Khawaarij, Hizbiyyoon, and that we pretend to be Salafiyyoon in Aqeedah); then thereafter contemplate on precise statement of Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri [may Allaah protect him] when he stated about Usaamah’s state of affairs: [وصل الأمر إلى حد الجنون والطيش وخفة العقل – the affair has reached the point of madness, recklessness and lightmindedness]!

May Allaah continue to bestow this Ummah scholars the likes of Al-Allaamah Ubaid, for indeed this description regarding Usaamah’s state of affairs is very precise. His affair has reached this state, because – in this particular affair- he has lost the ability to distinguish between good and evil, beauty and repugnance; neither measured his words based on the Sharee’ah nor gave thought to its extremely evil consequences, but rather he is one drowned in blameworthy hatred and vain desires in this subject matter. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The soul has its own whims and desires, which it delights in attaining and enjoy. Sound reasoning and knowledge (guided by the revelation) regarding the harmfulness of these actions in this worldly and the Hereafter prevents those (desires and whims from approaching such harm). So if (sound) intellect (guided by divine revelation) is removed from the guard, the soul is let loose to pursue its whims”. [Al-Istiqaamah. slightly paraphrased 2/144]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “There are two (types) of strengths within the soul: The strength of abstinence and the strength of courage. The reality of patience is that one makes the strength of courageousness a means of action in what benefits him and the strength of abstinence a means of action in refraining from what is harmful to him. Among the people, there is one whose patience in carrying out what benefits him and being firm upon it is stronger than his patience in refraining from what is harmful to him; so he exercises patience in facing difficulty whilst carrying out acts of obedience, but he does not exercise patience in refraining from urges towards what he is forbidden. And among them, there is one whose patience in refraining from things that are in opposition to the religion is stronger than his patience in carrying out acts of obedience, and among them there is one who does not exercise patience in both affairs. The best of people are those who fulfil both affairs. Many people patiently bear the hardship of praying Tahajjud during hot and cold nights, and the difficulty in fasting; but they do not exercise patience in refraining from looking at forbidden things. Many people exercise patience in refraining from looking at the forbidden things and inclination towards [forbidden] images, but they do not exercise patience in commanding good and forbidding evil. [An Excerpt from Uddatus Saabireen. page 37. Slightly paraphrased]

Imaam Ibnul Jawzi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: know that (forbidden) desires urges a person towards immediate pleasures without him pondering upon its evil consequences- urges him towards short-lived pleasures, even though it is a cause of pain and harm in this life and a barrier to pleasure in the Afterlife. As for a sensible person, he keeps away from pleasures whose result will be pain and desires whose result will be regret. This is enough as praise regarding what sound intellect necessitates and a rebuke against uncontrolled desires. Know that (forbidden) desires an overcome a person in the different fields of study, exits him from the confines of sound reasoning and enters him into behaviour that is tantamount to madness [or folly]. It might enter affairs of knowledge and thus leads a person to oppose that which sound knowledge commands, and it might enter Zuhd and thus leads him to Riyaa.

A person should ponder upon the consequences of (forbidden) desires, because many people are deprived of virtue and find themselves in a state of depravity due to it. And how many types of (unhealthy) food are there that leads to illness due to an unrestrained desire [for them]! And how many mistakes violates the honour of a person, leads to an evil mention of him as well as the guilt of sinning due to unrestrained desires, yet he still does not give thought to anything else except his desires! The best description regarding him is that of one who finds himself in a tannery, for he does not really notice its smell properly until he exits it and then realises where he was.

A sensible person should imagine the dishonour that will come to him due to his desires and the harm that results from those pleasures, for indeed he will see that- in most cases- they occur as result of those desires and pleasures. A person should think about how (the consequences of forbidden desires and pleasures do affect) others, then he should ponder and get a hint of its end results, for indeed he will see the blameworthiness of that which is known regarding them if he were to be guilty of it. A person should reflect upon those pleasures, because (sound) intellect [guided by sound divine revelation] will make him realise that they are nothing more than [lowly] desires and a state of blindness. A person should contemplate on the honour a person receives due to been given the upper hand and the humiliation found in subjugation, for indeed there is none who overcomes his [lowly] desires except that his honour is strengthened; and there is none who is subjugated by his desires except that he will find humiliation and subjugation in his soul. A person should contemplate on the benefits of opposing one’s [lowly] desires, such as the commendation attached to it in this worldly life, safety of the soul and safeguard of one’s honour, as well as reward in the afterlife. [Source: An Excerpt from Dhammul Hawaa’ pages 36-38. Slightly paraphrased]

All praise be to Allaah, indeed, neither our scholars and their upright students nor the Maraakiz have engaged in the likes of that which Usaamah has engaged in with his vile tongue – the very affair that has manifested his extremely idiotic behaviour. Imaam Abu Haatim – Ibn Hibbaan [may Allaah have mercy upon him- stated: “One the greatest signs of idiocy in an idiot is his tongue, because indeed his heart is on the tip of his tongue, whatever comes to his heart his tongue utters”. [Rawdatul Uqalaa. page 121]

The Poet said:

The fool addresses me with all ugliness …… (but) I hate to be a responder to him ……(so) he increases in foolishness, I increase in forbearance…… just as Oud increases in good smell when burnt.

We ask Allaah to protect us from Usaamah's madness, guide him and grant us all the best of manners. Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: [اللهم كما حَسَّنْت خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي – O Allah! Just as You made my external form beautiful, make my character beautiful as well]. https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2021/07/31/o-allah-just-as-you-made-my-external-form-beautiful-make-my-character-beautiful-as-well/

And Allaah knows best. This is the end of part 1 of this series and Part 2 will begin soon InShaaAllaah.

[لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ – There is neither might nor power (to alternate from one state to another nor move from one thing to another) except by Allaah’s Will]. [Bukhaari 6384 & Muslim 2704]

May Allaah protect us, protect the elder and senior students at Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah, protect all the students in the various Maraakiz and make us and them good examples for others in the Muslim communities Aameen.

The poet said, “Do not ask about a man, but ask about his companion, because every person guides himself by his companion”. [Al-Ibaanah 2/439] Ibn Mas’ood said, “Indeed, a person walks along & accompanies the one whom he loves & who is like him”. [Al-Ibaanah 2/476] Abu Dardaa said, “It is from the Fiqh (understanding of a person) that he (chooses) those whom he walks with, whom he enters upon (visits) & whom he sits with”. [Al-Ibaanah 2/477] Al-A’mash said, “The Salaf did not used to ask anything more about a person after having asked three affairs: Who he walks with, who he enters upon (visits) & who he associates with amongst the people”. [al-Ibaanah 2/478] Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood said, “Make consideration of the (regions of the) earth by the names given to them & make consideration of a person by his companion”. [al-Ibaanah 2/479] Mu’aadh Bin Mu’aadh said to Yahyah Bin Sa’eed, O Abu Sa’eed! A person may hide his viewpoint from us, but will not be able to hide that in his son, or his friend or in one whom he sits with”. [Al-Ibaanah 2/437] Translated by Spubs

Elder Salafi Teachers Who Took The Lead and Dealt With Serious Matters In Person Under Guidance of The Scholars For Nearly 30 Years

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

“The one informed is not the same as the one who witnessed (with his own eyes). Indeed, Allaah [The Exalted] told Musa [peace be upon him] about what his people had done with the calf (i.e. worshipped the calf) and he did not throw the tablets, (but) when he saw what they had done, he threw the tablets (out of anger) and they broke”. [Saheeh Al-Jaami 5374]

Indeed, besides the fact that the elder teachers have excelled us in both knowledge and experience, and the senior scholars – such as the likes of Al Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi and Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri – have testified to their insight and experience, and in addition to this, they were and have always been – to this day – true eye witnesses to events related to Dawah, clarifications and refutations from the early 90s when many of us were not born and some of us were still in secondary schools, then indeed none can take their place in this affair. Therefore, when we come along -regardless our credentials and qualifications, we should not allow anyone to give us precedence and thus we begin to theorise what we have not witnessed in person nor were we one of those who dealt with affairs in person alongside the scholars; rather we learn from the experience of those elder teachers who have preceded us in knowledge, wisdom and experience. So, here we remind our beloved youth that firstly, if a person – after 25 to 30 years – was not from those elder teachers who took the lead in the UK to this day to deal with serious affairs in person whilst receiving directions from the scholars – due to being unable, busy with other affairs or because one was happy to delegate the Fardu Kifaayah to others – who alongside Al-Allaamah Rabee and Al-Allaamah Ubaid – dealt with the various serious affairs  in the UK, such as the Fitna of Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq, Adnaan Ar’oor, Mahmood Al-Haddad, Safar al-Hawaali, Salman Al-Awda, Al-Ma’ribi, Al-Halabi, Faaleh Al-Harbi, Fawzi Al-Bahraini, Yahyah Al-Hajuri, Muhammad Bin Haadi and others, then indeed – with all due respect – such a person cannot be the one we refer back to for precise and insightful advice regarding these affairs. So, how about those amongst us – regardless our credentials, qualifications and efforts in Dawah – who neither witnessed all these affairs nor some of them, neither were we eye witnesses from the early 90s nor from those whose experience and insight has been certified by the scholars in these affairs, even we benefit one another in other ways.

Likewise, do not lend an ear to the statements of anyone who says that these issues – (such as the refutations against Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi and his ilk) – are diversions from seeking knowledge whilst clarifications are being written and transmitted by the well-known elder students amongst us, because such statements or claims certainly manifests one’s naivity, inexperience and shortsightedness in this subject matter.

Likewise, transmitting the books or statements of Al-Allaamah Rabee on Manhaj issues is not enough to make a person a reference point in these affairs, rather the people more knowledgeable about these affairs in reality are those who – for the past 25 to 30 years- have closely worked with the Shaikh to deal with problems. Therefore, we remind ourselves and the youth to make a clear distinction in these affairs because just because one is a Khateeb, a teacher or an elder does not automatically make him one who is well versed in these affairs. No one in the UK – regardless their efforts in teaching, Dawah and adherence to Salafiyyah – can be more well acquainted with the manner in which to deal with these affairs than those elder teachers who have had direct contact with Al-Allaamah Rabee and Al-Allaamah Ubaid for the past two decades, whilst dealing – in person – with these affairs, clarifications and refutations against the obstinate people of error.

Let us respect and honour every Salafi, especially those elders who have preceded us in Salafiyyah and we learn from their experiences, but also placing everyone in his rightful place. So, in order to balance affairs related to studying and reading refutations, then indeed the youth must return to none but elders – those who have excelled us in both knowledge and experience, and the senior scholars – such as the likes of Al Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi and Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri – have testified to their insight and experience. In addition to this, they were and have always been – to this day – true eye witnesses to events related to Dawah, Fitan, clarifications and refutations in the UK from the early 90s when many of us were not born and some of us were still in secondary schools.

This is what wisdom necessitates as Abu Ismaa’eel Al-Harwee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Wisdom is to place something in its rightful place” (1) Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Wisdom is to do what is befitting (or obligatory) in a manner that is benefitting and the during a time it is befitting”. (2)

We ask Allaah to protect us from the trials and grant us life as long as life is good for us.

O Allah! By Your Knowledge of the unseen and by Your Power over creation, let me live if life is good for me, and let me die if death is good for me; O Allah! I ask You to grant me (the blessing of having) fear of You in private and public; And I ask you (to make me utter) a statement of truth in times of contentment and anger; And I ask You for moderation when in a state of wealth and poverty; And I ask you for blessings that never ceases; And I ask You for the coolness of my eye that never ends; And I ask You (to make me pleased) after (Your) decree; Aand I ask You for a life of (ease, comfort, tranquility etc) after death; I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face (i.e. in the Hereafter) and yearning to meet You without any harm and misleading trials (coming upon me); O Allah! Adorn us with the adornment of Eemaan, and make us (from those who are) guided and guiding (others). (3)

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. (4)

The Four Categories of People and Their Knowledge Regarding Good and Evil, and One of The Reasons Why The Companions Have Excelled Everyone Until The Final Hour!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ وَلِتَسْتَبِينَ سَبِيلُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ – And thus do We explain the signs (to you O Muḥammad) in detail, and so that the way of the criminals may become evident (to you)] [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 55] (1)

Imaam Ibn Katheer [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated regarding this Aayah: “Allaah [The Exalted] stated that just as He explained what was previously explained of the arguments and evidence on the path of guidance and sound judgement, and censured argumentation and stubbornness; likewise He explain the signs (proofs, evidences, lessons), which those being addressed are in need of; [ولتستبين سبيل المجرمين – and so that the way of the criminals may become evident (to you)], Meaning, so that the path of the criminals – those who oppose the Messengers – may become evident”. (2)

Imaam At-Tabari [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated regarding the statement of Allaah: [وكذلك نفصل الآيات – And thus do We explain the signs (to you O Muḥammad) in detail]- Meaning, O Muhammad! Just as We have detailed for you in this Surah – from its beginning and introduction up to this point – our proofs and evidences against the idolaters and worshippers of images, and distinguished and clarified it for you; likewise, We explain to you our signs and evidences for every truth denied by the people of falsehood, the sects and other than them, until its truth is distinguished from its falsehood, and its right is distinguished from its wrong. (3)

The Categories of People And Their Knowledge of Good and Evil

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated about this Aayah: Those who know Allaah, His Book and His Religion are acquainted with the path of the believers and that of the criminals in detail- the two paths are clearly visible to them, just as a path leading to its destination and the path leading to destruction are made clearly visible. They are the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- the ones who benefit [the people] the most, the ones with the most useful advice and they are an evidence of right guidance. This is why the companions (of Muhammad) have excelled all those to come after them until the Day of Judgment, for indeed they were brought up upon the path of misguidance, shirk and paths leading to destruction, and they knew them in detail; then the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] came to them and took them out from darkness [an entered them] into complete light- from shirk into Tawheed; from ignorance into knowledge; from misguidance into guidance; from injustice into justice; from confusion and blindness into guidance and clear-sightedness. They knew the worth of that which they received and were triumphant by way of it. [They knew the worth] of that which was contained in what they [received], since what is in opposition to the [truth and right guidance] reveals the goodness of what it opposes, because [upright] affairs are made clear by way of their opposites. So they increased in desire and love of that which they embraced, disliked and hated that which they had turned away from. And of all the people, they had the most love for Tawheed, Imaan and Islaam, and had the most hatred for that which was in opposition to it. They were the most knowledgeable of the path in detail.

As for those who came after the companions, amongst them is that one who was brought up in Islaam but knows not what is in opposition to it. Therefore, some of the details of the path of the believers and that of the criminals became confusing to him, for indeed confusion occurs due to the weakness of one’s knowledge regarding both paths or one of them, as Umar Ibnul Khattaab [may Allaah be pleased with him] said: “The bonds of Islaam will be undone one after the other when a people who grew up in Islaam know not what Jaahiliyyah [Pre-Islamic Ignorance] is.’’ This [statement shows an aspect of] Umar’s perfect knowledge [of Islaam].

And there is that one who is neither acquainted with the path of the criminals nor has it been made clear to him, or he has doubts and thus thinks that some of their ways are from the ways of the believers. This has occurred in this Ummah in many affairs of Aqeedah, Knowledge and Action regarding the path of the criminals, the disbelievers and the enemies of the Messengers, [which] was brought into the path of the believers by the one who does not know the [detailed distinction between] the path of believers and the path of the criminals, so he called to [this path], excommunicate the one in opposition and declares lawful that which Allaah and His Messenger made unlawful, just as what has occurred with many of the people of bidah, such as the Jahmiyyah, the Qadariyyah, the Khawaarij, the Rawaafid and their ilk- among those who initiated an innovation, called to it and excommunicated those who opposed it.

The people are four categories in this subject matter [i.e. the obligation of having knowledge of the path of the believers and that of the criminals in detail].

The First Group: They are those who know the path of the believers and that of the criminals in detail-in both knowledge and action. They are the most knowledgeable amongst the creation.

The Second Group: They are those who are blind to both paths- those resembling animals. The path of the criminals comes [to them] and they follow it.

The Third Group: It is that one who concerns himself with (seeking) knowledge of the path of the believers and not its opposite. He only knows (the path of the criminals) by way of its opposition to the (path of the believers) and in a general way, and [holds] that all that is in opposition to the path of the believers is falsehood, even though that is not illustrated to him in detail. Rather, when he hears some of that which contradicts the path of the believers, he turns away and does not preoccupy himself in understanding and knowing its falsity. This person is in a state (similar) to one who is safeguarded from following desires- whose heart is neither put at risk nor is he called to (such desires), as opposed to those who are aware of (such desires) and their souls are inclined towards them, but they strive against it for the Sake of Allaah. A letter was written to Umar Ibnul Khattaab and he was asked about this affair, as to which of the two men is the better- a man who is not put at risk by way of desires and does not go through its difficulties, or a man who is pushed towards it but abandons it for the Sake of Allaah? Umar wrote back saying: The one who is desirous of sin but abandons it for the Sake of Allaah is from ‘those whose hearts Allaah has tested for piety. For them there is forgiveness and a great reward.’ [Surah Hujuraat. Ayah: 3]

The Fourth Group: This group knows the path of evil, bidah and kufr in detail and the path of the believers in general. This is the situation of many of those who concern themselves with the beliefs of the previous nations and that of the people of bidah. They are acquainted with (these affairs) in detail, but not with what the Messenger came with; rather they are acquainted with it in general even though they may know some of its affairs in detail. Whoever examines their books will see that. Likewise, those who know the paths of evil, oppression and corruption in detail and are followers of it; if they repent, abandon these (affairs) and return to the path of the pious believers, then their knowledge of it will only be general. They will not be acquainted with it in that detailed manner known to those who spend their lives (studying) its regulations and ways. The Objective: Indeed, Allaah (Glorified be He) loves that one should know the path of His enemies in order to avoid and hate it, just as the path of the His allies (close friends) is known and followed. Reminder to Those Who Donate to The Masjid Regarding a Paramount Responsibility of Teachers and Khutabaa

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Teachers and Khutabaa Have a Responsibility to Speak The Truth and Clarify The Salafi Methodology In all Affairs Whenever Required to Do So – Neither Fearing Blame Nor a Decrease In Masjid Funds

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Nuh [peace be upon him] when he stated that Nuh said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 109] – Meaning, “What I want is to advise you and that you follow the straight path”. (1)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Hud [peace be upon him] when he stated that Hud said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 127] – Meaning, “I do not ask you for reward for calling you to the (correct path) and for advising you, rather reward is from Allaah – the One Who nurtured you through His blessings”.(2)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Saaleh [peace be upon him] when he stated that Saaleh said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 145]- Meaning, “Lest you say, ‘We are prevented from following you because you want to take our wealth’, but I do not seek reward except from Allaah”. (3)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Lut [peace be upon him] when he stated that Lut said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 164]

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Shu’aib [peace be upon him] when he stated that Shu’iab said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 180]

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about the command He gave to the seal of the Prophets Muhammad [peace be upon him]: [قُل لَّآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ أَجۡرًا إِلَّا ٱلۡمَوَدَّةَ فِى ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ‌ۗ – Say (O Muhammad ): “No reward do I ask of you for this except to be kind to me for my kinship with you”] [Surah Ash-Shuraa. Aayah 23] – Meaning: No reward do I ask you for conveying this Qur’an to you and calling you to follow its rulings. Neither do not want to take your wealth nor be in charge over you and become your leader, nor do I have any other goals, except that you should be kind to me for my kinship with you”. It may be that what is intended behind this Aayah is: I am not asking you for any reward, except one one that is for you and whose benefit returns to you, which that you love me due to the ties of kinship between us, and this is a type of love that is an addition to the love that is based on Imaan, because indeed loving the Messenger – due to Imaan- and giving precedence to loving him over all love besides love of Allaah is obligated on every Muslim. So, the Prophet was asking them for something in addition that they show him love due to kinship, because he embarked upon his call by inviting his closest relatives to Islam, to the extent that it was said that there was none amongst the Quraish except that Messenger had ties of kinship with them. (3)

Therefore, let the maintainers of the Maraakiz neither fear nor compromise when conveying the sound Salafi Methodology. As for those who give so that the gas bill, electricity bill or council tax bill are paid, or so that the Imaam, the Mu’addhin or cleaner are paid, or so that maintenance work is carried out, then indeed that is a mighty Sadaqah Jaariyah InShaaAllaah, and may Allaah reward them with abundant good in this life and the next. So, we strive to give without any ulterior motives, such as desiring that our views are endorsed or that the teachers and Khutabaa should refrain from making a clear distinction between Sunnah and Bidah, between sound unity and false unity, between Salafiyyah and illegal partisanship.

The Salafi teachers and Khutabaa must enjoin good and forbid evil by clarifying the sound Salafi Methodology, exposing the false claimants and warning the people against deviation. If there are Masaajid that oppose the Sunnah of the Prophet or the Methodology of the companions in some issues, then such errors must be warned against so that the people are upon clear-sightedness, otherwise they will be guilty of treachery and sinful concealment. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[ٱلَّذِينَ يَبۡخَلُونَ وَيَأۡمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلۡبُخۡلِ وَيَڪۡتُمُونَ مَآ ءَاتَٮٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ‌ۗ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡڪَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابً۬ا مُّهِينً۬ا – Those who are miserly and enjoin miserliness on other people and hide what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a disgraceful torment]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 37] – Meaning: They refrain from fulfilling the rights obligated on them. Enjoin miserliness on other people through their statements and actions, hide what Allaah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties, such as knowledge by way of which the astray are guided and the ignorant ones are led aright. So, they hide it from them and make apparent to them falsehood that comes between them and the truth. So, they have gathered between miserliness with regards to wealth and knowledge, and between hastening towards loss for themselves and for others. (4)

The Prophet Drew a Straight Line! [Reminder to Muslim Maths Teachers]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Ibn Mas’ud [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] drew a line in the sand with his hand and he said, “This is the straight path of Allah”. Then, the Prophet drew lines to the right and left, and he said, “These are other paths, and there is no path among them but that a devil is upon it calling to its way”. Then the Prophet recited the Aayah [وَأَنَّ هَـٰذَا صِرَٲطِى مُسۡتَقِيمً۬ا فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ‌ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلسُّبُلَ – And verily, this is my Straight Path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths]. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 153] [Musnad Aḥmad 4423]

Allaah [The Most high] said: [وَعَلَى اللَّهِ قَصْدُ السَّبِيلِ وَمِنْهَا جَائِرٌ – And upon Allah is the responsibility to explain the Straight Path but there are ways that turn aside]. [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 9]

Az-Zujaaj [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “It is Allaah who will clarify the straight path and call to it with Hujaj [clear and overwhelming proofs that defeats all the obstinate and stubborn ones] and Burhaan [proofs that clarify and distinguish between truth and falsehood in everything]. [وَمِنْهَا جَائِر -but there are ways that turn aside]: Ibn Abbaas [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said, “They are the different types of desires [i.e. evil desires]”. Ibnul Mubaarak [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “They are the (evil) desires and the innovations in religion”. [Zaadul Maseer Fee Ilmit Tafseer by Imaam Ibnul Jawzi]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ فَرَآهُ حَسَنًا ۖ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَاتٍ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ

Is he, then, to whom the evil of his deeds made fair-seeming, so that he considers it as good? Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So destroy not yourself (O Muhammad) in sorrow for them. Truly, Allah is the All-Knower of what they do! [Surah Al-Faatir. Aayah 8]

[أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُوءُ – Is he, then, to whom the evil of his deeds made fair-seeming] -Meaning, his evil and repugnant deeds have been made fair-seeming to him by shaytaan and beautified in his eyes; [فَرَآهُ حَسَنًا – so that he considers it as good] -Meaning, considers his evil and repugnant deeds to be good like the one whom Allaah has guided to the straight;, but are the two the same? The first one commits evil deeds, considers truth to be falsehood and falsehood to be truth, and the second person performs good deeds, considers truth to be truth and falsehood to be falsehood. However, guidance is in the hands of Allaah, [ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَاتٍ – Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. So destroy not yourself (O Muhammad) in sorrow for them]- Meaning, the misguided ones to whom their evil deeds are made fair-seeming and shaytaan hinders them from the truth. Therefore, there is nothing obligated on you (O Muhammad) except to convey the message and there is nothing on you regarding their guidance, rather Allaah is the one who will recompense them for their deeds. [ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ- Truly, Allah is the All-Knower of what they do]. [An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi. Slightly paraphrased]

World Tarot Day; Rather Call It Shirk (polytheism) or Kufr (disbelief) Day!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Origin of Shirk

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Mankind were one community and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. And only those to whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it after clear proofs had come unto them through hatred, one to another. Then Allah by His Leave guided those who believed to the truth of that wherein they differed. And Allah guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 213]

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَمَا كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ إِلَّآ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَٱخۡتَلَفُواْ‌ۚ وَلَوۡلَا ڪَلِمَةٌ۬ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِىَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ – Mankind were but one community (i.e. on one religion – Islamic Monotheism), then they differed (later), and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed]. [Surah Yunus. Aayah 19]

Ibn Abbaas [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said, “There were ten generations between Nooh and Aadam – all of them used to be upon the true path [i.e. upon Islaam – worshipping Allaah alone], then they differed and started worshipping idols, false deities and images, so Allaah sent Messengers with clear proofs and evidences”. (1)

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities).” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 36]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee [may Allaah preserve him] said, “Shirk is the greatest sin that can be committed in disobedience to Allaah. The Prophets brought the greatest knowledge and that is the knowledge of Tawheed, and they warned against the greatest wrong doing and that is to ascribed partners to Allaah. Allaah said: [ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرۡكَ لَظُلۡمٌ عَظِيمٌ۬ – Verily! Associating partners to (Allaah in worship) is a great wrong indeed] [Surah Luqmaan’ Aayah 13] (2)

Iyaadh Ibn Himaar [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Verily, my Lord has commanded me to teach you what you do not know, from what he has taught me this day, ‘All wealth I bestowed upon them is lawful. I have created all of My servants upon a natural disposition to incline towards worshipping Me alone, but devils come to them and turn them away from their religion (of pure Islamic monotheism). They make unlawful what has been made lawful for them, and they command them to associate partners with Me for which no authority has been revealed’. [Ṣaḥeeh Muslim 2865]

Tarot Reading and Knowledge of The Unseen

Allaah (The Most High) said: [وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ – And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He].

In his explanation of the above Ayah, Imaam Ash-Shanqeetee (may Allaah have mercy upon him] brought a number of robust proofs to demonstrate and establish that even the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- Allaah’s Messengers and Angels-do not posses knowledge of the Unseen. The Imaam [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Proof A: Aa’isha (may Allah be pleased with her] was falsely accused and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] did not know whether she was innocent or not until Allaah informed him, saying: [ أُولَٰئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ- ‘Such (good people) are innocent of (each and every) bad statement which they say].

Proof B: Prophet Ibraaheem (peace be upon him) slaughtered a lamb for the angels, whilst not knowing that they were angels until they informed him that they were angels. Allaah said that the angels said to him: [إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ – We have been sent against the people of Lout (Lot). (11:70)]

Proof C: When the angels came to Prophet Lut (peace be upon him), he did not know that they were angels, and due to that Allaah said: [عَصِيبٌ سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ – He was grieved on their account and felt himself straitened for them (lest the town people should approach them to commit lewdness with them). He said: This is a distressful day]. And because of this Allaah said that lut said: [لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ – Would that I had strength (men) to overpower you, or that I could betake myself to some powerful support (to resist you). (11:80)]. He did not know the news the angels brought until they said to him: [إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ – Verily, we are the Messengers from your Lord!]

Proof D: Prophet Ya’qoob (peace be upon him) lost his eye sight due to grieving for Yusuf (peace be upon him), whilst he was in Egypt. He did not know anything about Yusuf until Allaah reveal news about him.

Proof E: Prophet Sulaymaan (peace be upon him), even though Allaah gave him authority over the devils and subjugated the wind in his service, did not know about the people Bil Qees until the Hud’hud came with news about them. Allaah said that the Hud’hud said: [أَحَطْتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِنْ سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ – I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba’ (Sheba) with true news].

Proof F: Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him) did not know that his son – who was drowned- was not from those members of his household who were to be saved, as Allaah said that Nuh said: [رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ – O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true.(11:45)]

He did not know the reality of the affair until Allaah informed him, saying:

[بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ – He said: “O Nuh (Noah)! Surely, he is not of your family; verily, his work is unrighteous, so ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge! I admonish you, lest you be one of the ignorant].

And indeed Allaah (The Most High) also stated in Surah Hud about Nuh that he said to his people: [وَلَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ -And I do not say to you that with me are the Treasures of Allah, “Nor that I know the Ghaib (unseen)].

Proof G: And when Allaah said to the Angels: [هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ أَنْبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاءِ -Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful]; Allaah said that the angels replied: [قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا -They (angels) said: “Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us.

Therefore, it is very clear that the most knowledgeable amongst the creation, the Messengers and the Angels, do not know anything of the unseen except what Allaah makes known to them. Allaah (The Most High) informs His Messengers what He wishes from the knowledge of the Unseen, as Allaah stated:

[وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْتَبِي مِنْ رُسُلِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ- Nor will Allah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghaib (unseen), but Allah chooses of His Messengers whom He pleases].

And Allaah said: [إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ مِنْ رَسُولٍ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِ أَحَد- (He Alone) the All-Knower of the Gha’ib (unseen), and He reveals to none His Gha’ib (unseen).” Except to a Messenger (from mankind)…(3)

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Sincerity to Allaah in worship and pure Islamic monotheism is a tree in the heart, its branches are the (good) deeds and its fruits is the good life in this world and everlasting bliss in the afterlife. And just as the fruits of Paradise are neither cut off (by change of season) nor are they out of reach, likewise this is the case with the fruits of pure Islamic monotheism and sincerity to Allaah in worship. Shirk, lies and showoff is a tree in the heart, its fruits – in the worldly life- are fear and anxiety, grief and distress in the soul and oppression against the heart. Its fruits in the afterlife are the tree of Zaqqoom and an everlasting punishment. And Allaah has mentioned these two trees in Surah Ibraaheem:

See you not how Allaah sets forth a parable? A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). Giving its fruits at all times, by the Leave of its Lord, and Allaah sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember. And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth, having no stability. [Surah Ibraaheem. Aayaat 24-26] (4)
