Verse 48 Surah Al-Haqqah and Verse 82 Surah Al-Israa

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

And verily, this Qur’an is a Reminder for the people who fear Allaah. [Al-Haaqqah. 48]

The Qur’an is a reminder for the people who fear Allah. The person who fears Allah is reminded through the Qur’an, then enabled to see what is beneficial and harmful to him, thus, he pursues what is beneficial and avoids what is harmful.

The Qur’an reminds him of the Perfect Names, Attributes and Actions of his Lord, so he believes in them.

The Qur’an reminds him of Allah’s reward, punishment, threats, commands and prohibitions, and the amazing events through which Allah’s allies (were supported) and His enemies (destroyed).

The Qur’an reminds the pious person about his soul, the means to its purification, cleanliness and elevation, and what would defile, lower and disgrace it. He remembers, through the Qur’an, the knowledge related to the beginning of creation, the Hereafter, paradise and hell fire, and the knowledge about good and evil.

The Qur’an is a reminder about reality, a proof for humankind and Jinn, a benefit and source of welfare (in all affairs of their life) and a guidance for those who seek knowledge. [1]

Allah, The Most High, said:

And We send down from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism and act on it). [Al-Israa. 82]

There are three statements (of the scholars) regarding the Qur’an being a healing:

It is a healing for misguidance due to what it contains of guidance.

It is healing for illnesses due to what it contains of blessings.

It is healing due to its explanation and clarification of the obligatory duties and rulings of the religion. [2]

The Qur’an is a healing for the diseases of ignorance, doubt and scepticism. Allah has never revealed a cure that is neither more comprehensive and beneficial; nor greater and quicker in removing diseases than the Qur’an. [3]

The healing that the Qur’an contains deals with all (diseases) of the hearts, such the disease of Shubhah (a matter that is made to resemble truth but is falsehood in reality), ignorance, corrupt views, perversion and evil goals. This is because it is founded on the Knowledge that is based on absolute certainty through which every ambiguity and ignorance is removed, and it contains an admonition and a reminder through which every desire that is in opposition to the command of Allah is removed. It is a healing for the bodies against harmful things and illnesses. As for it being a mercy, it is due to the Asbaab [i.e. sound means] and Wasaa’il [i.e. paths] it guides to, which if the servant of Allah acts upon them, they will successfully (receive) Mercy and an everlasting happiness- reward in this worldly life and everlasting reward in the Hereafter. [4]

The Qur’an combines between healing for the diseases of the heart, such as doubt, hypocrisy and other than that. It is a healing for the bodies when utilised for Ruqya, such as what took place in the story of the man who performed ruqya with Surah Al-Fatihah on a man who was stung and it is an authentic and well known story. Assist Jordan Cope to Reach The Wholesome Truth

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [2:42]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Allah forbade us from mixing truth with falsehood, thus leading to the concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused with the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Also, when the truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and a false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he (i.e. the speaker) intends the corrupt meaning. [1]

Jordan Cope stated: “The ahistorical myth that Jesus was a Palestinian is often rooted in nationalist propaganda designed to erase Jewish history and memory, a centuries-old system of anti-Jewish oppression”. [End of quote]

Response

This is a myth, without a doubt, and it doesn’t take much work to demonstrate its fallacy. Nevertheless, Jordan’s opinion piece raises other points that require clarification. To complete this brief discussion, we must first examine the definition of the noun Jew, which is “any person whose religion is Judaism. In the broader sense of the term, a Jew is any person belonging to the worldwide group that constitutes, through descent or conversion, a continuation of the ancient Jewish people, who were themselves descendants of the Hebrews of the Bible (Old Testament). In ancient times, a Yĕhūdhī was originally a member of Judah—i.e., either of the tribe of Judah (one of the 12 tribes that took possession of the Promised Land) or of the subsequent Kingdom of Judah (in contrast to the rival Kingdom of Israel to the north). The Jewish people as a whole, initially called Hebrews (ʿIvrim), were known as Israelites (Yisreʾelim) from the time of their entrance into the Holy Land to the end of the Babylonian Exile (538 BCE). Thereafter, the term Yĕhūdhī (Latin: Judaeus; French: Juif; German: Jude; and English: Jew) was used to signify all adherents of Judaism, because the survivors of the Exile (former inhabitants of the Kingdom of Judah) were the only Israelites who had retained their distinctive identity. (The 10 tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel had been dispersed after the Assyrian conquest of 721 BCE and were gradually assimilated by other peoples.) The term Jew is thus derived through the Latin Judaeus and the Greek Ioudaios from the Hebrew Yĕhūdhī. The latter term is an adjective occurring only in the later parts of the Hebrew Bible and signifying a descendant of Yehudhah (Judah), the fourth son of Jacob, whose tribe, together with that of his half-brother Benjamin, constituted the Kingdom of Judah. In the modern world, a definition of Jew that would be satisfactory to all is virtually impossible to construct, for it involves ethnic and religious issues that are both complex and controversial. In daily life, for example, those who consider themselves Jews are generally accepted as such by Jews and non-Jews alike, even though such persons may not observe religious practices. While all Jews agree that a child born of a Jewish mother is Jewish, Reform Judaism goes beyond Orthodox and Conservative Judaism in affirming that a child is Jewish if either one of the parents is a Jew. From a purely religious standpoint, Gentile converts to Judaism are accepted as Jewish in the fullest sense of the word. Under Israel’s Law of Return (1950) as amended in 1970, all non-Israeli Jews and Gentile converts to Judaism are entitled to settle in Israel and receive full Israeli citizenship. However, converts who wish to marry in Israel must demonstrate that they were converted under the supervision of an Orthodox rabbi approved by the country’s chief rabbinate, which is authorized to settle questions of personal status regarding marriage and divorce. The Supreme Court of Israel has made incursions into rabbinic interpretations of personal status”. [2] [End of quote]

Jordan’s generalisation that “Jesus was a proud, observant Jew” must be critically examined in light of the infallible, final revelation from Allah.

Allah said:

(Remember) when the angels said: “O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allah gives you the glad tidings of a Word [“Be!” – and he was! i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from Him, his name will be the Messiah ‘Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allah. “He will speak to the people in the cradle and in manhood, and he will be one of the righteous.” She said: “O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me.” He said: “So (it will be) for Allah creates what He wills. When He has decreed something, He says to it only: “Be!” and it is. And He (Allah) will teach him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] the Book and Al-Hikmah (i.e. the Sunnah, the faultless speech of the Prophets, wisdom, etc.), (and) the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel). And will make him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] a Messenger to the Children of Israel (saying): “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord, that I design for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah’s Leave; and I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I bring the dead to life by Allah’s Leave. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you store in your houses. Surely, therein is a sign for you, if you believe. And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Taurat (Torah), and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me. Truly! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Alone). This is the Straight Path. Then when ‘Iesa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: “Who will be my helpers in Allah’s Cause?” Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: “We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah). Our Lord! We believe in what You have sent down, and we follow the Messenger [‘Iesa (Jesus)]; so write us down among those who bear witness (to the truth i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah – none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)”. And they (disbelievers) plotted [to kill ‘Iesa (Jesus)], and Allah planned too. And Allah is the Best of the planners. And (remember) when Allah said: “O ‘Iesa (Jesus)! I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you [of the forged statement that ‘Iesa (Jesus) is Allah’s son] of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allah) superior to those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad, ‘Iesa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), etc., or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Quran] till the Day of Resurrection. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute. As to those who disbelieve, I will punish them with a severe torment in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers. And as for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) and do righteous good deeds, Allah will pay them their reward in full. And Allah does not like the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers). [Surah Al-Imran. Ayah 45-57]

The above infallible verses of the final revelation make it abundantly evident that the Messiah, peace be upon him, was commanded to affirm the the Torah as well as given a new scripture, the Injeel, through which he was commanded to abrogate part of the Torah. Allah said that the Messiah said to them:

And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Taurat (Torah), and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me”- Meaning, Isa abrogated some of the laws of the Torah but most of it was not abrogated. [3]

Truly! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Alone). This is the Straight Path

Then, many of them disbelieved and plotted to have him killed, but Allah saved him. Allah said:

Then when ‘Iesa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said: “Who will be my helpers in Allah’s Cause?” Al-Hawariun (the disciples) said: “We are the helpers of Allah; we believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e. we submit to Allah). Muhammad, ‘Iesa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), etc., or His Holy Books, e.g. the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Quran] till the Day of Resurrection. Then you will return to Me and I will judge between you in the matters in which you used to dispute.” [End of quote]

Therefore, it is abundantly evident that they took a different path after disbelieving in the Messiah, and that the Messiah did not take their path. However, a statement of truth must be established in this matter so that those Jews who rejected the Messiah are not rebuked beyond what they deserve.

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Allah, The Most High, sent Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and they disbelieved in him, thus, their disbelief and misguidance occurred in two ways- substitution of the religion of the first Messenger (i.e. the Messiah) and they belied the second Messenger (i.e. Muhammad), just as the Jews substituted the rulings of the Torah before the Messiah was sent and then belied him. The Christians’ denial of Muhammad’s Messengership is a well-known belief of theirs to every Muslim, which is similar to the Jews’ disbelief in the Messiah. The Christians emphasise the disbelief of the Jews as greater than what the Jews deserve because the Jews claimed that the Messiah was a magician and a liar; rather they said that he is an illegitimate child, as Allah informed us about them:

And their speech against Maryam (Mary)- a grave false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Ayah 156]

However, the Christians claimed that the Messiah is Allah, therefore the trial between them and the Jews regarding the Messiah involved a lot of contradictions, misguidance at similar levels, and confrontation, and this is why both nations rebuked one another with something more than what each of them deserved, just as Allah said:

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing, and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing; though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Ayah 113]

Muhammad Bin Abee Muhammad the protege of Zaid Bin Thaabit reported from Ikrimah or Saeed Bin Jubayr, who reported from Ibn Abbaas that when the Christian delegation of Najraan came to Allah’s Messenger, the Rabbis came and argued with them in the presence of the Messenger; so Rabee Bin Hurmilah said, “You are upon nothing” and thus he disbelieved in Isa and all the Injeel. Then a man from the people of Najraan said to the Jews, “You are upon nothing”, and thus he wilfully denied Musa’s [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] Prophethood and disbelieved in the Torah, so Allaah revealed:

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing, and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing; though they both recite the Scripture]. [SAl-Baqarah. 113]

So, each of them recited the affirmation of what they rejected in their book- meaning, the Jews disbelieved in Isa whilst they had the Torah in which Allah established the evidence against them through Musa that they should believe in Isa and the Injeel, and Isa confirmed Musa’s Messengership and what he came with. So, each one disbelieved in what was in the possession of the other. [Ibn Abee Haatim. 1/339]

The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing]: Qataadah said regarding this Aayah, “Certainly, the early Christians were upon something, but they innovated and split”.

And the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing.

Qatadah said regarding this Ayah:

Certainly, the early Jews were upon something, but they innovated and split”. The Jews belied the religion of the Christians and said that the Christians were upon nothing; and the Christians denied everything through which the Jews were distinguished from them, even the laws of the Torah which the Messiah did not abrogate; rather he commanded them to act upon it. As for the Jews, they denied many of things through which others were distinguished from them, until they denied the truth brought by Isa.

So, even though the Christians – due to that which they innovated of exaggeration and misguidance – went to extremes in excommunicating the Jews and showed them enmity beyond what is obligated, however, there is no doubt that the Jews disbelieved when they belied the Messiah, just as Allah said to the Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:

I will take you and raise you to Myself and clear you [of the forged statement that ‘Isa (Jesus) is Allah’s son] of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you (Monotheists, who worship none but Allah) superior to those who disbelieve [in the Oneness of Allah, or disbelieve in some of His Messengers, e.g. Muhammad, ‘Isa (Jesus), Musa (Moses), etc., or in His Holy Books, e.g. the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the Qur’an] till the Day of Resurrection. [Al-Imraan. 55]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Isa the son of Maryam said to Al-Hawariun (the disciples): “Who are my helpers (in the Cause) of Allah?” Al-Hawarieen (the disciples) said: “We are Allah’s helpers” (i.e. we will strive in His Cause!). Then a group of the Children of Israel believed and a group disbelieved. So We gave power to those who believed against their enemies, and they became the uppermost. [As-Saff. 14]

The disbelief of the Christians due to their denial of Muhammad’s Messengership is greater than the disbelief of the Jews due to their denial of the Messiah’s Messengership because the Messiah only abrogated a little from the Torah and all the laws and acts of worship ordained for him could be traced back to the Torah; however the majority of the beliefs and practices of the Christians were innovated after the departure of the Messiah. That which is found in the Jews’ denial of the Messiah by opposing Allah’s Shariah is not the same as the Christians’ denial of Muhammad, who brought an independent book from Allah because nothing in the laws of the Qur’an was ordained based on the law of another Messenger. Allah [The Exalted] said:

Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur’an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe]. [Al-Ankabut. 51]

The Qur’an is an independent book like the Torah of Musa, even though the Qur’an is greater than it. And this is why the Christian scholars made a connection between Musa and Muhammad, just as when An-Najaashee, may Allah have mercy upon him, the Ethiopian king of the Christians- heard the Qur’an, he said, “Indeed, this and what Musa brought came from the same source”. Also, when Waqarah bin Nawfil [may Allah have mercy upon him] – who was one of the Christian Arab scholars- heard the statement of the Prophet, he said, “Indeed, the Naamoos [i.e. Jibreel] who came to you was sent to Musa. I wish that I were young till when your people expel you”. Allah’s Messenger asked, “Will these people drive me out?” Waraqah said, “Yes, because nobody brought the like of what you have brought, but was treated with hostility. If I were to remain alive till your day (when you start calling to Islaam), then I would support you strongly”. [Al-Bukhari]

And this is why Allah mentioned the Torah and the Qur’an together in His statement:

But when the truth (i.e. Muhammad with his Message) has come to them from Us, they say: “Why is he not given the like of what was given to Musa (Moses)? Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Musa (Moses) of old? They say: “Two kinds of magic [the Taurat (Torah) and the Qur’an] each helping the other!” And they say: “Verily! In both we are disbelievers.” Say (to them, O Muhammad): “Then bring a Book from Allah, which is a better guide than these two [the Taurat (Torah) and the Qur’an], that I may follow it, if you are truthful.” [Surah Al-Qasas. 48-49]

Allah did not revealed books that were a better guide than the Tawraat and the Qur’an. Then Allah said:

But if they answer you not (i.e. do not believe in your doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, nor follow you), then know that they only follow their own lusts. And who is more astray than one who follows his own lusts, without guidance from Allah? Verily! Allah guides not the people who are Zalimun (wrong-doers, disobedient to Allah, and polytheists). [Al-Qasas. 50] [4]

Second, with regards to the Messiah’s lineage, we must distinguish between a Jew by lineage and a Jew by conversion, because some contemporary Jews propagate and disseminate the idea that they are a pure race and that they are the inheritors of the first Israelites who lived in Palestine. “This claim portrays them, in the eyes of Christians (i.e. particularly the Christian Zionists), as the children of Yaqub, peace be upon him, and his descendants, thus they are the ones intended for the promises found in the Old Testament to the children of Israel. So, through this, they win the sympathy, kindness, and support of the Christians, especially with knowledge of the fact that the Christians sanctify the Torah and believe that what is in it is a revelation from Allah, The Mighty and Majestic.

However, the reality belies their claim of the purity of their race, and that is because a general observation of their appearance and features shows the difference in their origins. Some of them have European features, some have Arab features, and some have African features. With this difference, it cannot be claimed that their origin is the same, as they must have mixed with other nations from whom they inherited this difference in physical characteristics. Furthermore, they mentioned in their books that many of them married foreign women and that their women folk were also married by foreign men, to the point that they attributed this to Prophet Sulayman – peace be upon him – (i.e. that he married women outside his race). It has also been proven historically that a big nation, the people of the Khazar state, converted to Judaism in the eighth century CE. This nation had previously been pagans, a Turkic Aryan people who inhabited the Central Asian region, and their state, named after themselves as the Khazar state, was located in the region between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It occupies the northern Azerbaijani, Armenian, and Ukrainian regions and the entire South Asian region, up to the borders of Moscow, the capital of Russia. The Caspian Sea was called the Khazar Sea. It is stated in the Jewish Encyclopedia about the Khazars as follows: “The Khazars are a people of Turkish origin, whose life and history are mixed with the beginning of the history of the Jews of Russia. The nomadic tribes of the steppes, on the other hand, forced them to consolidate the foundations of the Khazar kingdom in most parts of southern Russia before the Franks established the Russian monarchy in 855 CE. At this time (855 CE), the Khazar Kingdom was at the height of its power, engaged in constant wars, and at the end of the eighth century, the Khazar king, his nobles, and a large number of his pagan people converted to the Judaism. The Jewish population was large throughout the Khazar province during the period between the 7th and 10th centuries CE, (and) it appears that around the 9th century, all the Khazars had become Jews and that they had converted to Judaism only a short time earlier. Then this country subsequently fell into the hands of the Russians, who occupied it and completely destroyed it, and seized all of its lands. It disappeared from the map of Europe in the thirteenth century CE, and its people were dispersed among the countries of Eastern and Western Europe, and their largest existence in Eastern Europe were Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Russia”. This clearly shows that the Jews who are called Ashkenazi, who are European, have no connection to Yaqub [peace be upon him] (by lineage). “The children of Israel are the descendants of (Prophet) Ya’qub [peace be upon him]. Their first entry into Palestine was with Yu’sha Bin Noon [peace be upon him] after the death of Musa [peace be upon him] during his travels from one place to another, and after they initially refused to fight (after being commanded to do so). There were three tribes in Palestine before the children of Israel took control of it: they were the Phoenicians who inhabited it around the year 3000 BC, and they settled in the northern region of the Mediterranean Sea. And the Canaanites descended south of the Phoenicians and occupied the central region of Palestine in the year 2500 BC. These were Arab tribes migrating from the Arabian Peninsula, then groups came from the Island of Crete around the year 1200 BC. It was called [فلستين] and was situated between Jaffa and Gaza on the Mediterranean Sea. The Canaanites called these people [فلسطين] and the name prevailed over the entire region, so it became referred to as [فلسطين]. According to what the Jews mentioned in their books, and what was written in the history of the region is that these peoples continued (residing) in the region. Many wars between them and the Children of Israel and the Jews occurred, which continued throughout the presence of the Jews in that region. Therefore, from a historical perspective, it becomes clear to us that the Jews were not the first to inhabit Palestine, but rather they entered it or some of it and captured parts of it after it had been in the possession of these people”. [5]

Third, there is no doubt that noble Isa – the Messiah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was a Jew by lineage. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said,

“There is no doubt that Musa’s, peace be upon him, people are the Children of Israel, and in Torah was revealed in their language. Also, the Children of Israel are the people of the Messiah [peace be upon him], and he spoke in their language”. [6]

“It is known, by Christian consensus, that the Messiah only spoke in Hebrew, like all the other prophets of the Children of Israel, and that he was circumcised after the seventh day of his birth, as the Children of Israel were circumcised”. [7]

Imam Ibn Katheer, may Allah have mercy upon him, said,

“There is no difference of opinion that Maryam [peace be upon her] was from the lineage of Dawud [peace be upon him], and her father Imran was a leader in prayer for the Children of Israel in his time”. [8]

Ibn Al-Atheer, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

“Imran Bin Maathaan [the grandfather of Isa (peace be upon him) and father of Maryam] was one of the descendants of Prophet Sulayman the son of Dawud [peace be upon both of them], and the Mathan family were the heads and rabbis of the Children of Israel”. [9]

Finally, it should be stated unequivocally based on the preceding that Palestine as a land was inhabited by people of various religions and lineages before the arrival of Bani Israel with Yusha Bin Noon, peace be upon him. As a result, anyone who claims that Jesus was a Palestinian by lineage is attempting to affirm an outright lie; rather, he was a Jew by lineage (Bani Israel) who lived in ancient Palestine and was sent as a Messenger to Bani Israel. He affirmed the Torah and was also given the Injeel as a new book, and he abrogated some of the Torah, but they disbelieved him and took a different path. Similarly, it is categorically untrue to assert that Jews were colonised in Palestine, implying that they were the land’s original inhabitants; rather, Bani Israel arrived in the region with Prophet Yusha, peace be upon him, when existing inhabitants were already present. Thus, one of the biggest lies anyone can tell is that Jews have a special historical claim to the land of Palestine. Rather, the land is Allh’s, and He gives it as an inheritance to whomever He pleases. Allah said:

And indeed We have written in Zabur and after (We have already written in the) Dhikr that My righteous servants shall inherit the land. [Surah Al-Anbiya. 105]

Imam Muhammad Ibn Saalih Al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

Based on this, for example, the land of the Arabs is not for the Arabs, the land of the Persians is not for the Persians, and the land of the Romans is not for the Romans (i.e. Allah can give it to others). The land belongs to Allah and He gives it as a heritage to whom He will, and they are the righteous servants who believe and do righteous deeds. Whoever disbelieves in Allah and is too proud to obey Him has no right to the land. Allah gives it as a heritage to whomever He wills of the righteous servants. Based on this, if the children of Israel say: The land of Shaam is ours because Musa [peace be upon him] said:

O my people! Enter the holy land (Palestine) which Allah has assigned to you.

We say: Indeed, Musa, peace be upon him, said this because at that time you were righteous people and the righteous servants of Allah, and the earth belongs to Allah Who gives it as a heritage to whomever He wishes from among His righteous servants. However, after the advent of Islam and you disbelieved in it, you became unworthy of (this inheritance), and the righteous and believers in Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him]- those who follow him – became its inheritors.

Before the Muslims were expelled (from this inherited land), it was occupied by the Roman Christians (who inherited it from) the Jews because they were righteous after the Jews; then the Muslims occupied it after them because they were the righteous servants of Allah. So, the land of Shaam was written as an inheritance for the righteous (as Allah said):

And indeed We have written in Zabur and after (We have already written in) Dhikr that My righteous servants shall inherit the land].

Due to this, the Children of Israel (inherited the land from) those people in the sacred land who had great strength because they were upon the truth; then the Christians inherited it from the Jews because they were the people of truth, then the Muslims inherited it from the Christians because they are the people of truth. Based on this, the Yahood at present have no (specific) right to Palestine or any other part of Allah’s earth. Therefore, if the Muslims become righteous and return to their true religion, through which Allah will grant them the heritage of their land, they will regain the land.

Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them…[Surah An-Nur. 55] [10]

Therefore, the likes of Mr Naftali Zionist Bennett’s statement “colonialists expelled the Jews several times” is a half-truth mingled with a repugnant and absurd assertion designed to cover their tracks, create an illusion, divert attention from the facts, portray themselves positively and others negatively, gain sympathy and benefit, distort how others see the circumstances and convey a misleading impression to others about themselves and people around them. That is because even though Bani Israel was expelled from the land several times, they were not indigenous to the land, rather, the indigenous to the land were those who inhabited it before Bani Israel’s arrival. In addition, Allah said:

And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture, that indeed you would do mischief on the earth twice and you will become tyrants and extremely arrogant!] [Al-Israa. 4]

Meaning: We have declared, made a covenant with them and told them in their book that corruption will certainly occur from them on earth twice through committing sins, showing ingratitude to Allah for His Blessings, exalting themselves on earth and being arrogant therein; and that when one of these two (occasions) come to pass, Allah will give power to their enemies and take revenge on them, and this is an admonition and warning to them so that they may return to obedience and take heed. [a]

So, when the promise came for the first of the two, We sent against you slaves of Ours given to terrible warfare. They entered the very innermost parts of your homes. And it was a promise (completely) fulfilled. [Al-Israa. Ayah 5]

Meaning: the first of the two occasions during which they become corrupt; when such corruption occurred among them, We sent on you – by way of our all-encompassing divine will and decree- recompense (punishment) at the hands of those people with courage, large numbers, and armed, so, Allah gave them victory over you. They killed you, took your children away, plundered your wealth, invaded and destroyed your homes, entered the Sacred Masjid (Baytul Maqdis), and violated it. It was decreed to take place for a reason from themselves. The Qur’an commentators differed regarding the identity of those people who were sent to overpower them, but they agreed that they were unbelievers. Either they were from the people of Iraq, the Arabian Peninsula, or elsewhere, whom Allah gave (the strength) to overpower the Children of Israel when their sins became rife, they abandoned much of their Shariah, and transgressed in the land. [b]

Then We gave you once again, a return of victory over them. And We helped you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in manpower. [Al-Israa. 6]

Meaning: (gave you victory) against those who overpowered you, so you expelled them from your land; increased your sustenance and number, and gave you strength over them because of your righteous deeds and submission to Allah. [c]

(And We said): ‘If you do good, you do good for your ownselves, and if you do evil, then it is (to your ownselves).’ Then when the later promise came to pass (We enabled your enemies) to put sorrow on your faces (by conquering and enslaving you) and to enter the Mosque (of Jerusalem), as they had entered it the first time, and to destroy everything they came upon with utter destruction. [Al-Israa. Ayah 7] [d]

“If you do good, you do good for your ownselves” because the benefit will return to you, even in this world (before the hereafter) as you witnessed when Allah aided you against your enemies. “And if you do evil, then it is (to your ownselves)”- meaning, the harm will return upon yourselves, as Allah showed you by empowering the enemies. [e]

“Then when the later promise came to pass”– Meaning, the next time you spread corruption on earth, We made your enemies overpower you “to put sorrow on your faces (by conquering and enslaving you)”- Meaning, given victory over you, capture you, and enter the Sacred Masjid as they entered it the first time, and what is meant by the Masjid is Baytul Maqdis; “and to destroy everything they came upon with utter destruction”– Meaning, destroy your homes, Masjids and crops. [f]

(Thereafter Allāh said): ‘Perhaps your Lord may show mercy to you (if you repent), but if you return (to your sinful ways), then We shall return (to punishment). And we have made Hell an enclosure for the disbelievers. [Al-Israa. Ayah 8] [g]

Within these verses (Al-Israa 7 and 8) is a warning to this Ummah against committing acts of disobedience lest what afflicted the Children of Israel afflict them as well. The sunnah (way) of Allāh is one, it does not change or become altered. Whoever looks (and reflects) upon the empowerment of the disbelievers and oppressors against the Muslims will come to know that this was due to their sins, as a punishment to them (to make them realise) that if they enact and establish the Book of Allāh and the Sunnah of His Messenger, He will grant them firm authority in the land and aid them against their enemies. [h] [End of quote]

To conclude, indeed, the Messiah, peace be upon him, is free from the claims of those who call him a Palestinian and try to utilise him for nationalist goals. He is Aldo free from Jordan Cope and those who wilfully conceal the truth which is that the unbelievers among the Children of Israel chose a different path than the Messiah’s after they rejected him. And regarding anti-Semitism, we do not lend an ear -even in the twinkling of an eye- to Zionists’ exaggerations and propaganda, but rather we return to the truthful researchers instead of those who use it as a political tool to silence anyone who rebuts the Zionists and denounces their cruel and callous treatment of the Palestinian people over the past 75 years. Daniel Rowe’s Absurd Self-entitlement and Delusions of Grandeur Scrutinised

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [An-Nisaa. 135]

This article serves as a brief reply to tactics employed by Daniel Rowe, who occasionally affirms and negates simultaneously as a deliberate linguistic strategy; utilises sarcasm, manifests delusion of grandeur, extreme self-entitlement, boastfulness, a victim mentality, and a craving for impunity—traits commonly observed among some Zionist supporters of Netanyahu and the IDF.

Daniel stated: Israel’s challenge: Embracing the world’s high expectations as a strength – opinion. [end of quote]

Response: Daniel’s self-amazement: dismantling his incadications to moral superiority – opinion.

Daniel stated: At some level, even our harshest critics expect more from us. They hold us to standards they would never dream of applying to themselves or their allies. [end of quote]

Response: You are expected to do more, not due to any unique qualities you possess, but because it is often observed that those who have endured the most suffering at the hands of others tend to be the most compassionate when given the chance to express kindness. You frequently speak of the horrors inflicted upon you by the Nazis, yet some members of your IDF continue to kill, brutalise, maim, and even shoot at Palestinians who seek the so-called aid you provide. Indeed, we could never aspire to emulate your Prime Minister and those who have violated the rules of war.

Daniel stated: The world watches Israel with an intensity that borders on obsession in ways that simply don’t apply to other nations engaged in similar conflicts. This scrutiny often feels unfair, even malicious – and sometimes it is. But what if this burden could be transformed into an opportunity? [end of quote]

Response: Millions of people with even a little sense of morality in this world observe what has taken place in recent years with a level of astonishment, as the Netanyahu-led regime has revealed its true nature through its actions. It is not that people are fixated on you; rather, they have not encountered any regime in recent history that so seamlessly blends brutality, deceit, entitlement, and a victim mentality. This level of scrutiny is neither unjust nor spiteful; therefore, transforming this situation and the weight of Netanyahu’s wrongdoings into a chance for change necessitates an immediate halt to over seventy years oppression.

Daniel stated: Israel faces a level of attention that defies rational explanation. The current Gaza conflict, for example, receives far more attention than all the other 32 wars currently occurring on planet Earth combined. This includes wars with far higher casualty rates. This is even though the civilian-to-combatant ratio in Gaza represents what may be the most restrained urban warfare in modern history. [end of quote]

Response: The people have observed a level of brutality, arrogance, impunity, and a victim mentality that is beyond rational explanation. They have not witnessed a recent conflict that has been conducted under the pretense of self-defense, while its leading ideologues, demagogues and rabble rousers have annihilated entire families who are neither armed nor combatants. Furthermore, when you begin to tally the number of casualties and compare them to others, you attempt to distract from the reality that this issue did not begin on October 8. Instead, it has been over 70 years of brutality, impunity, oppression, transgression, and a victim mentality. However, this does not mean that we condone the actions of Hamas against civilians and non-combatants.

Daniel stated: For years, two-thirds of all United Nations resolutions have focused on one tiny country: Israel. If an alien came down from another planet and wanted to understand what it is that humans think is the most important issue facing the planet, they would likely note that there is one single topic that rises above all others both in the UN and in media coverage worldwide, and that is the Jewish people in the Land of Israel who are not behaving well enough. [end of quote]

Response: It is quite absurd when one attempts to manipulate history. This is due to the fact that the United Nations was exploited by Western ideologues and demagogues among the Colonialists to bestow upon you possessions that rightfully do not belong to you. However, it matters little how many individuals oppose you, for some of those wielding veto power and who have commandeered the UN are aligned with your interests. Nothing can be enacted against the you if the demagogues, ideologues, and rabble-rousers of America are in disagreement.

A Brief Discussion on the Attribution to the Offspring of Prophet Yaqub In Our Era

Daniel stated: We are not just dealing with antisemitism, though that certainly exists, but something more complex. At some level, even our harshest critics expect more from us. They hold us to standards they would never dream of applying to themselves or their allies. [end of quote]

Response: Antisemitism is denounced whenever it is accurately identified yet it should not be exploited for manipulation or to foster a victim mentality. Read below:

Regarding the claim that you are subjected to expectations by others that they would never consider imposing on themselves or their associates, we reiterate that the criteria by which we evaluate actions is based on the revelation that prohibits the killing of women, children, and non-combatants, as well as the destruction of vegetation, mutilation, and the desecration of places of worship, among other things. Read below:

Daniel stated: The questions of why that is, or whether or not we should hold up a mirror to them, have proven to be irrelevant, as they simply return to the same actions over and over again. This predates the Gaza conflict and dates back to Israel’s very inception. Their obsession defies logic. [end of quote]

Response: This part of your speech revolves around how you are seen. What needs to be highlighted is that since 1948, Palestinians have consistently faced extreme aggressors among the Zionists. Thus, it doesn’t matter if you believe you shouldn’t have to make an effort because accusations will come regardless. Your very existence was enabled by the same individuals whose countries you wish to continue supplying you with weapons to harm Palestinians. The illogical obsession here is your fixation on claiming what isn’t yours, along with seeking backing to continue a conflict that you fruadulently present as essential for survival. In reality, it is a strategy to permanently displace Palestinians from their homeland, and Hamas did serve as your instrument in achieving that aim. Read: https://www.abuiyaad.com/w/hamas-israeli-right

Daniel stated: This impossible standard, however unfair, carries within it an unintended compliment: the world’s subconscious expectation that we should be different, that we should transcend the moral compromises that others accept as inevitable. [end of quote]

Response: Once again, we anticipate that you will act like ordinary individuals—individuals who do not remain passive while innocent people are murdered. There is no subconscious expectation for you to be any different; instead, what is required is for you to let go of this illusion of grandeur and invulnerability. Discard your empty ambitions—do not base your sense of moderation or ethics on a feeling of superiority over others, as you are not superior, nor does anyone with a shred of common sense believe you are, despite your assertions and self-promotion. Therefore, the matter at hand is not just about moral compromise, but rather a call for you to conduct yourself in a normal and humane manner.

Daniel said: This is not all negative. Israel, as the Jewish collective, is undoubtedly the most hated nation on earth. But it is also the most loved, admired, and adored. I travel the world as a visible Jew and have been stopped many times by people wanting to give me blessings – and wanting me to bless them. Not many other nations on Earth are thought of in the same way. It is not that the world hates us; it is that the world is obsessed with us. [end of quote]

Response: Once more, we see victim mentality, emotional rhetoric, and delusions of grandeur. No one has inflicted more destruction through hatred of Palestinians than the animosity expressed and acted upon by Netanyahu’s regime recently. Explore the vitriol that flows from the mouths of certain ideologues, demagogues, and rabble-rousers. Take the time to read:

Must take a look at what is happening in their own backyard first

It is quite amusing how biased you are. Firstly, while every Zionist professes to be a Jew, it is important to note that not every Jew identifies as a Zionist. Secondly, it is good that you have not encountered any anti-Semitism during your travels. Lastly, it is quite laughable how you present your image: merely receiving hospitality does not imply that there is a widespread positive sentiment towards Netanyahu and anyone who shares his destructive views. Furthermore, your transition from claiming to be the most reviled to asserting that such animosity is actually an obsession reveals your tendency to engage in sarcasm. The issue is straightforward: there should be no anti-Semitism, nor should there be genocide. What you refer to as obsession is, in fact, a legitimate demand from all conscientious individuals for you to stop over seventy years of oppression, self-deception, and victim mentality.

Daniel stated: How do we respond to this reality constructively? FIRST, WE must abandon the defeatist attitude that “they hate us anyway, so why bother explaining ourselves?” This approach has led to criminally negligent failures in public diplomacy. We lack the rapid response capabilities that any modern political campaign would consider essential. [end of quote]

Response: The discussion has circled back to the idea that they hate us, despite claims of obsession without hatred. It’s a manipulation of words and the emotions of the audience.

However, a more fitting approach would be to investigate as well the animosity directed towards Palestinians. People detest the brutality exhibited by certain allies of Netanyahu and some members of the IDF because they still possess some sense of morality, yet we also denounce antisemitism and the actions of Hamas against unarmed civilians and non-combatants; indeed, even combatants have rights that must be respected. You don’t need to justify your actions, nor will there be what you perceive as criminally negligent failures in public diplomacy, nor is there a requirement for rapid response political campaigning if everyone – including Netanyahu, yourself and myself- follow the infallible directives in the final divine revelation. Prince Turki Al-Faisal, may Allah preserve him, scolded both Netanyahu’s regime and Hamas. Listen below:

Daniel stated: When false claims spread, we often remain silent while the lie circles the globe, only issuing corrections weeks later, after the damage is done. Mark Twain is often credited with the quote that “a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still getting its shoes on.” Secondly, we need to invest heavily in building alliances and shaping narratives before crises hit. Qatar transformed itself from an irrelevant backwater Arabian country to a major regional player in just two decades through strategic communication and relationship building. If they can do it, certainly we can marshal our considerable intellectual and creative resources to do the same. [end of quote]

Response: No one makes more false assertions than Netanyahu and some well known personalities among the Zionists. The greatest harm caused is simply the propaganda of Zionist Netanyahu. If this is Mark’s assertion, then we indeed affirm: “Zionist Netanyahu’s falsehoods and his ilk travel halfway around the globe while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”

Furthermore, you already possess numerous alliances, and some among you consistently attempt to manipulate narratives by exploiting antisemitism and the Holocaust to garner sympathy while perpetrating crimes against Palestinians. Qatar is a Muslim nation, and we ask Allah to empower the Muslim leaders and countries so they can effectively counter Netanyahu’s false narratives.

Daniel stated: We need to proactively find and engage with the billions of people who love us, not just keep fighting those who hate us. Through equitable relationship building with partners who face similar difficulties in their regions, we can create a new narrative. The third, and to my mind by far the most important, is to abandon the expectation that we be treated like every other nation. We should give up trying to be an ordinary people. If the world scrutinizes us in an extraordinary way, it is because of a deep, perhaps subconscious expectation that we are meant to be an extraordinary people. [end of quote]

Response: The countless individuals who adore you and those who despise you do not serve as a measure by which your behaviour is evaluated; instead, your state is assessed according to your deeds. There is no regime comparable to Netanyahu’s in its harsh treatment of the Palestinians. Thus, the challenges faced by Jews stem solely from the actions of their ideologues, demagogues, and rabble-rousers, whose behaviours have resulted in land theft, murder, and the displacement of Palestinian children and non-combatants since 1948. As a result, those unable to address this issue fairly may resort to extreme measures, potentially harming innocent Jews or taking the law into their own hands in other nations. This creates a vicious cycle that we denounce—condemning both the Netanyahu and his ilk who promote the continuation of brutal policies and those who attack Jewish citizens or take the law into their own hands.

Furthermore, the only individuals with whom Netanyahu can maintain a so-called equitable relationship are those who either support him with weapons to continue their brutality, back them politically for financial gain, or out of fear of being labeled an antisemite, a Jew hater, or a Holocaust denier. These individuals will assist Netanyahu in crafting a new narrative. However, this does not imply that if Netanyahu genuinely seek peace without deceit, the matter is left to the Muslim leaders to extend a hand to establish treaties, just as the Prophet made peace with the Jewish tribes after migrating to Madinah. Daniel stated: The third, and to my mind by far the most important, is to abandon the expectation that we be treated like every other nation. We should give up trying to be an ordinary people. If the world scrutinizes us in an extraordinary way, it is because of a deep, perhaps subconscious expectation that we are meant to be an extraordinary people. [end of quote]

Response: Netanyahu’s regime stands out as the only one in the world that operates without accountability. Many individuals within Netanyahu’s regime and his associates are notorious for their genocidal rhetoric. Those specific Zionists who back Netanyahu’s regime are not remarkable in a commendable way; instead, many of them are notable for their blameworthy characteristics – an incessant craving for impunity, a victim mentality, genocidal language, unfounded claims to land, and false accusations against those who justly criticise them, as well as exploiting the Holocaust and antisemitism to silence dissent, among other negative traits. These flaws are evident to people as clearly as the midday sun, and this examination is not rooted in some supposed subconscious expectation that Netanyahu and his associates should be an admirable group; rather, the expectation is for them to cease brutality and impunity.

Daniel stated: THE FOUNDING texts of Christianity and Islam are about the Jews. The founding texts of hard-left politics, from the founders of communism, were mostly written by Jews. The Jew lies at the center of their very identity, which simultaneously produces unparalleled admiration and unmatched resentment, jealousy, and fear. [end of quote]

Response: This segment of Daniel’s deception, characterised by absurd ambiguity and psychological manipulation, becomes even more contentious due to his incorporation of religion into the discourse. The foundational texts of the messages delivered by the noble Prophets Isa and Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon both of them and all the prophets, were rooted in pure, unadulterated revelation from the Lord of the words, despite the fact that all scriptures have been abrogated and distorted with the exception of the Qur’an. Bani Israel is referenced because they were among the earlier nations to whom Allah sent prophets with the message of Tawhid, including prophet Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

Therefore, the term “founding texts” requires both specification and elaboration, as the noble prophet Isa, peace be upon him, was sent as a messenger to Bani Israel, clearly demonstrating that he was instructed to amend certain laws of the Torah, though not all of it. In contrast, Muhammad’s message abrogated all previous texts. Thus, the use of the term “founding texts” should not imply that Jews are mentioned solely based on their identity or due to an eternal superiority; rather, they are acknowledged as recipients of scriptures and prophets, with some adhering to their prophets while others did not, as the Qur’an recounts numerous issues concerning Bani Israel.

Furthermore, the Jew does not occupy the core of our identity; instead, Bani Israel received revelation, with some acting upon it and others failing to do so. Thus, those who sincerely followed the prophets of Bani Israel and passed away while  adhering to pure monotheism were Muslims, as all previous prophets and their true followers were Muslims – submitting to Allah through Tawhid, obeyed Him, kept away from Shirk and its proponents. And following the arrival of Prophet Isa, anyone who chose not to follow him was led astray, and their destination is the everlasting flames of hell. Subsequently, after the emergence of Prophet Muhammad, those who adhere to Prophet Isa or any other prophet are likewise misled, and their destination is to dwell in the fire for eternity. [9] The Three Monotheistic Religions! [Brief Observations On This Statement Uttered By Writers Who Are Ignorant About Islaam And Misguided Modernists Speaking In The Name of Islaam]

Therefore, there is no reason for the existence of an extraordinary admiration alongside unparalleled resentment, jealousy, and fear. The core issue is that there were rightly guided Jews who adhered to the prophets, and subsequently, others embraced Islam following the arrival of Muhammad. Additionally, there were Jews who rejected both Muhammad and Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon both of them and all the prophets. Therefore, we hold admiration for the believers among the followers of the previous prophets and do not extend admiration to those who disbelieved in Isa or Muhammad, irrespective of their ethnicity. We harbour no jealousy towards any of them, for how could we envy those whose path leads to misguidance and ruin in this life and the hereafter? We also do not fear them, rather, our concern lies in avoiding the circumstances that led them to a state of disbelief in the final messenger while still claiming what they do not possess. Allah, The Most High, stated:

Think not that those who rejoice in what they have done (or brought about), and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think not you that they are rescued from the torment, and for them is a painful torment. [Aal Imran. 188]

Think not that those who rejoice in what they have done (or brought about).

Meaning, the rejoicing (accompanied) with insolence and boasting, thinking that they have done a favour to Allah and Allah’s Messenger.

[بِمَآ أَتَواْ – what they have done (or brought about)]- Meaning, the deeds by way of which they seek to get close to Allaah as they claim.

And love to be praised for what they have not done.

Meaning, they want people to praise them for what they have done, such as feigning righteousness to the people in order to be praised, even if they have not performed an act of righteousness- similar to what the people of the Scripture did, (who) concealed the characteristics of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and did not make it known, and then said, “Now we have overcome Muhammad when we say that he is not the Mubash’shar bihee “the Messenger whom Prophet Isa mentioned as the good tidings.

This verse [188 in Aal Imran] includes two types of people: The people of the Scripture who rejoiced in what they did by concealing the characteristics of the Prophet and not believing in him, and loved to be praised for what they have not done when they pretended to the people that if the Messenger – who is mentioned as good tidings (by Eesaa)- is sent, “We will believe in him”.

The second group are the hypocrites. This is because the hypocrites rejoice in what they do and say, “We have submitted in Islam” in the presence of Muhammad and his companions, whilet their situation is the opposite of that, and they loved to be praised for what they have not done with regards to sincerity, love for Allah and His Messenger, and obedience to Allah’s Messenger. [1]

Daniel stated: Jews returning to their land was and is a cataclysmic event. The world watched with bated breath as the ancient people of Israel walked out of the grave of Auschwitz into the redemption of the Promised Land. They waited to see what we would build. Subconsciously, they awaited the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham: ‘Through you will be blessed all the families of the Earth.’ And then we went and tried to be like everyone else. [end of quote]

Response: This section is not in need of elaboration, rather, we’ll post these links to address the issue.

The Promised Land: A Brief Examination from a Religious and Historical Perspective

A Brief Discussion on the Attribution to the Offspring of Prophet Yaqub In Our Era

Daniel stated: For the first seventy years of statehood, we had little choice but to survive. Despite levels of hostility and adversity that might have broken many fledgling states, Israel experienced miracles, both Divine intervention and human determination. Its achievements are beyond admirable by comparison to other nations facing far lesser challenges. [end of quote]

Response: Survival is an inherent human instinct. Furthermore, you initiated the conflict by seizing land and forcibly removing its legitimate owners. There have been no miracles in your journey; instead, you were supported by some of the most influential ideologues and Christian Zionist colonisers, who provided you with appropriated property. Regarding divine intervention, even the most notorious tyrants, while perpetrating their tyranny, believed that their false deities or ideologies rendered them invulnerable or would enable their oppression to persist indefinitely. Thus, this so called miracle of yours is nothing but Al-Istidraj, as Allah said:

Those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not. And I respite them; certainly My Plan is strong. [Al-A’raf 182-183]

[سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم – We shall gradually seize them with punishment] – by granting them plentiful provision and respite until they think that they will neither be taken to task for their disobedience nor punished, so they increase in disbelief and transgression, and evil upon evil. And through this their punishment is increased and multiplied, so they harm themselves in ways they perceive not. This is why Allah said: [إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ -certainly My Plan is strong] [2]

We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not.

Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawree, may Allah have mercy upon him, said that this means, ”Whenever they commit [major] sins, Allaah bestows a blessing on them and make them forgetful of seeking forgiveness. [3]

Thus, it is not unexpected that after committing acts of violence against Palestinians for over 70 years without facing consequences, Netanyahu and his ilk view this as a positive divine intervention, driven by self-promotion and baseless assertions. The determination and achievements of the rebellious individuals among Bani Israel in the past are not worthy of praise, despite their closer adherence to the Torah compared to Netanyahu. There is nothing commendable about the cruelty exhibited by Netanyahu, nor is there anything laudable about the earlier murderers from the previous Zionist regimes since 1948. Rational individuals do not admire the violent actions of Netanyahu and his predecessors. Furthermore, it was the colonialists who aided the Zionists to start their campaign of terror.

Daniel stated: But now, we feel inner national schisms developing around our core identity. Simultaneously, the world is pushing us as hard as possible to become a nation through which all humanity becomes blessed. While we should not stop calling out the unfair double standards, we can and should embrace the message the world is screaming to us. It is time to make the mission statement of the nation of Israel: “Through you shall be blessed all nations of the world.” THE WORLD is moving at hyper-speed into phases like none we have ever seen. The world in 30 years is likely to be as different from our world as the Neolithic farmers are from us today. As AI-powered humanoid robots, driverless cars, and brain chips move from science fiction to reality, the possibilities of a radically different world are opening up in ways unimaginable. [end of quote]

Response: The significance of your identity or that of others is not what the creator emphasises; instead, the creator commands us with the piety that should be sought in accordance with the teachings of the final messenger. Allah, The Exalted, stated:

O mankind, We have created you from a male (Ādam) and female (Eve) (making you all of equal lineage) and We made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another (and fulfil each other’s rights). Verily, the most honourable of you with Allāh is the most pious of you (and not the noblest in lineage or most affluent) (so do not be boastful and belittle others). Indeed, Allāh is all-Knowing, all-Aware. [4]

What we keep telling you is that you act upon this verse because one day you will face your Lord and be asked if you responded to the message of the final messenger, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Disbelief and defiance against the final prophet’s path are not praiseworthy, rather, they lead to chaos and destruction in this life and the next. Allah, The Exalted, said:

Those who disbelieved among the People of the Book and the Polytheists were not going to be parted (from their disbelief and polytheism) until there came to them clear evidence. (This being) a Messenger from Allāh, reciting pages purified (of all falsehood and containining all goodness). Within which are upright (truths contained in past) scriptures (and just laws and prescriptions). And those who were given the Scripture (and were awaiting the arrival of a Messenger in Arabia) did not become divided (regarding the Messenger and his mention in their scriptures) until after the clear evidence—(this Messenger and this Qurʾān)—had come to them (so some believed and others disbelieved). [Al-Bayyinah 1-4]

The pace at which the world is advancing will not eliminate the individuals who uphold the truth and the devoted followers of the messengers. Whether it takes 30 years or extends to the end of time, these steadfast followers will persist in fulfilling the purpose for which humanity was created: to worship Allah alone and to obey the messengers, the final one being Muhammad. No one will have a more positive influence than the noble Isa upon his return, and conversely, no one will wield a more destructive influence than Dajjaj. However, Isa will triumph alongside the true believers, while Dajjaj and his followers will face destruction. Thus, everything else, including AI and other advancements, whether beneficial or harmful, falls under the will of the Creator. Regardless of the significant changes that may occur in 30 years or even before the end of time, the people of Iman will remain steadfast and resolute by the will of Allah. Therefore, a wise individual, irrespective of the transformations in this world, should aim to meet his Lord by following the path of the final messenger and fulfilling the purpose for which he was sent to this world, which is not aligned with Zionism or any other man-made ideologies.

Daniel stated: The Jewish people have always lived for the future, and we need to continue to do so. The fractious tribes of the modern State of Israel can and should come together to ask one question: how can each of us contribute to the new mission of the State of Israel, the ancient mission of the nation of Israel: “Through you will be blessed all the nations of the earth”? Our centers of innovation create new possibilities. Our centers of Torah study focus on the call of God that spawned the theologies, philosophies, and revolutions that dominate the world to this day. By bringing these two poles together, we can forge new pathways to bring humanity into a new age of miraculous harmony, spirituality, healing, and connection. We can help shape a world that once lived only in the prophecies and dreams of our ancestors. The biblical call to be “a light unto the nations” is a practical blueprint for turning our burden into our strength. If the world won’t treat us like everyone else, then let’s prove we’re not like everyone else. Let’s use the impossible standards we face as motivation to achieve the impossible. [end of quote]

Response: Every human being aspires for a brighter future, holding onto the hope of improvement, even though the definition of a good future is shaped by following the final revelation—the Qur’an and the Sunnah—since this is the purpose of life. Furthermore, it is crucial for those living under Netanyahu’s authority to unite and question whether Zionism truly reflects the teachings of prophets Musa and Isa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. They should also ponder why figures like the Jewish scholar Abdullah Bin Sallam, may Allah be pleased with him, and other Jews embraced Islam. Additionally, those ancient Jews who truly followed the prophets are in paradise InShaAllah, whereas Netanyahu and his ilk are obstinate opposers of Allāh’s command. The sole route to blessings is the Qur’an and Sunnah, rather than relying on Zionism or abrogated and distorted Scriptures. As for your innovative efforts in worldly affairs, they should not be a reason for arrogance and self-entitlement at all cost, nor utilised to oppress Palestinians or find ways to prolong conflicts. Moreover, the Qur’an supersedes the Torah, and Allah only accepts the path laid out by the final messenger. There is no necessity for theological debates, philosophical inquiries, or revolutions based on the Torah; instead, the Torah given to noble Musa, peace be upon him, was meant to guide the Children of Israel towards righteousness, Tawhid, and dignity. Allah, The Exalted, stated:

Verily, We did send down the Taurat (Torah) [to Musa (Moses)], therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah’s Will, judged the Jews. And the rabbis and the priests [too judged the Jews by the Taurat (Torah) after those Prophets] for to them was entrusted the protection of Allah’s Book, and they were witnesses thereto. Therefore fear not men but fear Me (O Jews) and sell not My Verses for a miserable price. And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the Kafirun (i.e. disbelievers – of a lesser degree as they do not act on Allah’s Laws). [Al-Ma’idah 44]

Daniel stated: By bringing these two poles together, we can forge new pathways to bring humanity into a new age of miraculous harmony, spirituality, healing, and connection.

Response: Humanity has no need of the Zionists following the arrival of the final messenger, as there is no greater guide than the Qur’an and Sunnah for fostering harmony, healing, justice, and peaceful coexistence. Those who believe in the final messenger are not influenced by anyone else’s guidance but that of the final messenger. Only through the path of the final Messenger can one illuminate nations, as it serves as the blueprint for success and harmony. The believers do not demand that you to be anything other than what the Creator has ordained, which is to follow the final messenger. Allah stated:

O people of the Scripture! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light (Prophet Muhammad) and a plain Book (this Quran). Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way (Islamic Monotheism). [Al-Ma’idah 15-16]

May Allah knows best.

Verses 13-14 Surah Az-Zukhruf

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

And indeed if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?” They will surely say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them.”

Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way,

And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead),

And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride,

In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: “Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!” [Az-Zukhruf 9-14]

In order that you may mount on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: “Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts).  And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!” [Az-Zukhruf. 13-14]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Mentioned are the three pillars of gratitude and they are:

To acknowledge Allah’s blessings, proclaim Allah’s blessings, praise Allah for them, submit to Allah and utilise them to carry out acts of worship for the sake of Allah (alone). This is because the intent behind the statement of Allah:

“And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return” is an acknowledgement of recompense and being prepared for it.

The objective behind these favours is that they are an aid through which a person fulfils that which Allah has commanded him.

And regarding Allah’s statement:

“And then may remember the favour of your Lord when you mount thereon”.

This is a specific mention of the (favour) at the time in (which the person enjoys those favours) because blessings intoxicates many amongst the creation, makes them heedless, evil and ungrateful. Thus, this state in which Allah commanded (a person to remember Him for His Favours) is a remedy for this destructive ailment. When the servant of Allah recalls that he is completely surrounded by Allah’s blessings and that nothing is from himself, but rather blessings are (from Allah), -lits means are facilitated and its obtainment made easy (by Allah), he submits to Allah, humbles himself, thanks and praises Allah, and through this he is given continuous blessings. [1]

Sulayman Bin Yasaar, may Allah have mercy upon him, reported that some people were on a journey, then they said before departing:

“Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return”.

A man among them, who possessed a strong she-camel, said, “As for me, I shall indeed arrive at night using this sturdy she-camel.” However, the camel threw him off, resulting in a broken neck. [2]

[2] “Al-Uqoobaat” by Ibn Abee Dunyah. 316.

Verses 263-264 Surah Al-Baqarah

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High. said:

Kind words and forgiving of faults are better than Sadaqah (charity) followed by injury. And Allah is Rich (Free of all wants) and He is Most-Forbearing]. [Al-Baqarah. 263]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

Allah informed us that kind speech- which all hearts recognise and do not reject; and forgiveness- to pardon the one who treated you badly, are better than charity that is followed by harm. Kind speech is good treatment and charity through speech; and forgiveness is good treatment by way of refraining from retaliation and holding someone responsible. These are two types of good treatments.

As for charity followed by harm, it is a good deed that is followed by its nullifier, and there is no doubt that two good deeds are better than a good dead that is nullified.

This also includes the forgiveness shown by the person when he encounters some harm and harsh behaviour from the one who he could not fulfil his request; therefore, showing forgiveness to him would be better than giving him charity and then harming him. Speaking kindly to him, refraining (from retaliation) and forgiving him is better for you than giving him charity and then harming him.

Then Allah ended this verse with the mention of two of His Attributes which are suitable for mention in this matter, saying:

And He is Most-Forbearing.

Indeed, Allah is not in need of you and nothing (from the benefits of) your charity reaches him, rather all the abundant good in this charity and its benefits returns to you and not to Allah. Therefore, how can one flaunt through his spending and causes harm while Allah is completely not in need of it and everything else besides it. In addition to this, Allah is forbearing because He does not hasten punishment against the one who flaunts. Allah is completely free from need in every way and He is the One described as One with forbearance, the one who overlooks and forgives, alongside the fact that He bestows His vast favours and ample gifts; then how can one of you harm another person by flaunting and offending, even though what you give is little, and you are weak and poor (in the sight of Allah).

Then Allah said:

O you who believe! Do not render in vain your Sadaqah (charity) by reminders of your generosity or by injury, like him who spends his wealth to be seen of men, and he does not believe in Allah, nor in the Last Day. His likeness is the likeness of a smooth rock on which is a little dust; on it falls heavy rain which leaves it bare. They are not able to do anything with what they have earned. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. [Al-Baqarah 264]

This spender, whose spending has been nullified, is likened to a Safwaan – a rock with a smooth, flat, and slippery surface and with dust on it. Then heavy rain falls on it, washing away the dust and leaving it bare, devoid of any vegetation or growth. This is one of the finest and most profound parables because it draws a parallel between the heart of such a spender, who flaunts and his spending is devoid of belief in Allah and the Last Day, to the rock itself, symbolising hardness, rigidity, and lack of benefit. It demonstrates the impact of charity represented by the fine dust on the rock, and the heavy rain that washes it away, mirroring the nullification and removal of the spender’s charity. Consequently, the spender is unable to reap any rewards from his charity, as it has been nullified and removed.

Another perspective on this is that (even though) someone spends for something other than the sake of Allah, it may seem like they have performed a deed that will be rewarded. So, it seems as if it is made to grow like the grain that is sown in fertile soil and it grows seven ears, and each era has a hundred grains. However, hidden behind this spending there is something that prevents it from gaining anything, just like a rock hidden beneath the soil that stops seeds from sprouting and growing.

Examples of the Reverence and Dedication to the Qur’an Among the Pious Predecessors

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Salamah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Whenever Abu Musa, may Allah be pleased with him, sat with Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, he may say to him, ‘O Abu Musa! Give reminder’. He recited”. [1]

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Whoever is able to learn something from the Qur’an, then let him do so. Indeed, the houses that are deprived of good the most are the ones where there is no recitation of Allah’s Book, because the houses in which there is no recitation is like the demolished houses without inhabitants. Indeed shaytan exits a house in which Surah Al Baqarah is heard”. [2]

He also said: “The hearts are receptacles so busy filling them with the Qur’an and do not busy them with other than it.” [3]

Ibn Abba, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said: “It would be more beloved to me to recite Surah Al-Baqarah during the night than recite the (entire) Qur’an haphazardly”. [4]

Ubayd Bin Ja’d, may Allah have mercy upon him, reported from a man from who said: I heard the people in the towns saying that Salaman Al-Farisi, may Allah be pleased with him, is in the Masjid, so they approached him until about a thousand people gathered. He stood up and said, “Sit down, sit down”. When they sat down, he started reciting Surah Yusuf, then the people began moving away and departing until about a hundred were left. He became angry and said, “So you wanted adorned speech, but then I recited to you the book of Allah and you left!” [5]

Masruq, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: A man from the people of Makkah said to me: “This is the place where your brother Tameem Ad-Daaree, may Allah be pleased with him, used to stand. Indeed, one night I saw him until in the morning or nearly morning time, while he was crying and reciting:

Or does those who do evil deeds think that they can outstrip Us (i.e. escape Our Punishment)? Evil is that which they judge! [Al-Ankabut. 4] [6]

Muqatil Bin Hayyan, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “I once prayed behind Umar Bin Abdil Azeez, may Allah have mercy upon him, so he read [وَقِفُوهُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّہُم مَّسۡـُٔولُونَ- But stop them (i.e. when the wrong doers will be held to account on the day of judgement), verily they are to be questioned] [As-Saffat. 24]. He kept on repeating it and was not able to go past it (i.e. due to the severity of what the verse meant). [7]

Maymun Bin Mihran, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “Once Umar Bin Abdul Azeez, may Allah have mercy upon him, cried after reciting the verse: [أَلۡهَٮٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ-The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you]. Then he recited [حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ  – until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die)]. Then he said, ‘I will not see the graves except as a visitor and the one who visits them must either be returned to paradise or hell'”. [8]

Aamir Bin Abdi Qays, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “I don’t care what escapes me from the worldly things after knowing this verse:

And no (moving) living creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allah.  And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterous, grave, etc.). all is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz – the Book of Decrees with Allah). [Surah Hud. Aayah 6]

And the statement of Allah:

Whatever of mercy (i.e.of good), Allah may grant to mankind, none can withhold it, and whatever He may withhold, none can grant it thereafter. [Fatir. 2] [9]

Malik Bin Deenaar, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “When the Qur’an is recited to the truthful people, their hearts become enraptured by the Afterlife”. [10]

Ibn Wahb, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:  “It was said to the sister of Malik Bin Deenaar: ‘What did Malik use to busy himself with in the house?’ She replied, ‘With the Mushaf and recitation'”. [11]

Verse 216 Surah Al-Baqarah

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, says:

And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.” [AI-Baqarah. Verse 216]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

There is for the servant -in this verse – a number of insightful guidelines, underlying benefits and welfare. (This is) because indeed if he knows that Al-Makruh (what is hated) can bring forth Al-Mahbub (i.e. what is beloved), and vice versa, then neither would he feel safe from the harm that might occur from something that makes him happy nor would he lose hope whilst expecting a final source of happiness from a situation of harm. This is because he does not have (infinite or perfect) knowledge of the Awaqib (i.e. the final outcomes), but Allah knows that which he does not know.

There is nothing more beneficial for him than fulfilling Allah’s commands, even if it is difficult for him in the beginning and his soul dislikes it, because all its end result will be good – a means to happiness, pleasure and joy. Similarly, there is nothing more harmful for him than doing what he has been forbidden, even if his soul desires and inclines towards it because all its end result will lead to pain, grief, evil and calamities. A distinguishing characteristic of (sound) intellect is that it prefers to bear little pain whose end results will lead to great enjoyment and abundant good, and it avoids that little enjoyment whose end results will lead to great pain and prolonged evil. The observations of an ignorant person does not permit him to (pay attention to the true or real) goals behind events that occur from the very beginning of an affair, but as for the sensible person, he always looks at the (true or real) goals behind those events. He looks at the praiseworthy and unpraiseworthy goals that are not obvious (to the ignorant one). He sees what is forbidden as tasty food that is mixed with deadly poison, therefore, whenever he is urged towards eating that food due to its tastiness, he is turned away due to the poison in it. As for the commandments, he sees them as bitter medication that will lead to physical well-being and cure; therefore, whenever he is turned away from the medication due to its bitterness, he is then urged towards it due to its benefits.

However, this requires the blessing of knowledge by way of which a person can perceive the (praiseworthy and unpraiseworthy goals) behind those events that occur from the very beginning of an affair, as well as firm patience that would enable him to bear the difficulties upon the path towards achieving the expected goals. If he does not have certainty and patience, it would be difficult for him to achieve that; but if he has firm certainty and patience, he would be facilitated with ease whilst bearing every difficulty in his pursuit of everlasting good and enjoyment.

The servant should hand over his affair to the One (Allah) who knows – (perfectly without anything hidden from Him)- the end result of affairs. He should be pleased with what Allah chooses and decrees for him because of the good end result he hopes for.

Neither should he make suggestions to his Lord nor put forward his choice over that of his Lord, nor does he ask for something about which he has no knowledge because it may be that what will bring about harm and destruction on him is found in what he asks, whilst he does not know. Therefore, he does not choose anything over what his Lord chooses; rather he asks his Lord to choose the best for him and make him pleased with what has been chosen for him, because there is nothing more beneficial for him than this.

When he hands over his affair to his Lord and is pleased with what has been chosen for him, his Lord facilitates him with strength, determination and patience in that which has been chosen for him; repel the afflictions he would have encountered due to the choice he makes and show him some of the good end results of the choice his Lord made for him, which could not have been attained through the choice he makes for himself.

He is relieved of the difficult reasoning about all types of choices and his heart is emptied of projections through which he ascends one obstacle and descends into another. And alongside this, he cannot escape what is decreed for him. If he is pleased with Allaah’s choice, then what has been decreed will come to him, whilst he is deserving of commendation and graceful in it; otherwise, what has been decreed will come to him while he is blameworthy and ungraceful, because he is left with the choice he made for himself. (1)

If Allah wants good and guidance for His servant, He makes him witness the fact that the blessing he has is one of His blessings and enables him to be grateful for it. If his soul whispers to him to move away from it, he seeks guidance from His Lord – by way of Istikhara (a) – as one who is ignorant of his welfare and unable to attain it, and then delegates the affair to Allah by asking Him to make a good choice for him. (2)

[a]: Al-Istikhara: Jaabir Bin Abdillah, may Allah be pleased with him and his father] said, ”Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] used to teach us the way of doing Istikhara (i.e. the means to ask Allah to guide one to the right action concerning any job or a deed) in all matters as he taught us the Suras of the Qur’an. He said, ‘If anyone of you wants to do any task [i.e. wants to decide on a matter], he should offer a two rak’ats other than the compulsory ones and say (after the prayer):

O Allah! I seek counsel through Your Knowledge, and I seek Power from Your Might, and I ask for Your great blessings. You are capable and I am not. You know and I do not and You (alone) know the unseen. O Allah! If You know that this task (or affair) is good for my religion and my subsistence and in my Hereafter- (or said, ‘If it is better for my present and later needs), then You ordain it for me and make it easy for me to get, and then bless me in it. And if You know that this task (affair) is harmful to me in my religion and subsistence and in the Hereafter-(or said, ‘If it is worse for my present and later needs’), then keep it away from me and let me be away from it. And ordain for me whatever is good for me, and make me satisfied with it’. The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, added that then the person should mention his need [i.e. the affair or task]. [Bukhaari: 1162]

After Istikhara, one also seeks the advice of upright people who are capable of giving advice in the affair. Al-Hasan al-Basri, may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “By Allah! Never have people sought advice except that they were guided to the best of what was available to them”. Then he recited (the Ayah) “And (the Believers) who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation”. [Ash-Shura. 38]

Al-Allamah Zayd Bin Hadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Allāh, The Mighty and Majestic, commanded His Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him,  to consult his companions in some affairs: “And consult them in the affairs. Then when you have made a decision, put your trust in Allāh”. [Aal Imran. 159]

He [i.e. the Prophet] is the example to be followed by the Ummah, therefore when it is the case that Allah commanded him to consult his companions, then there is even a greater reason that the Muslims are in need of consultation amongst themselves. When a difficulty that is related to a Muslim’s religious and worldly affairs occurs, then indeed it is fitting that he consults someone whom he considers reliable, wise, truthful and sincere. He examines [the advice] given by that person, then he makes a choice – either to take that advice or decides not to take it based on what he is satisfied with, in relation to his personal affairs. The hadeeth places emphasis on the fact that consultation guides to the best outcomes, and due to this it is said, “The one who consults (others) does not regret (thereafter InShaaAllah) and the one who performs Istikhara will not fail (to achieve what is good for him or her)”. Both Istikhaara and consultation are legislated and a lot of good is achieved by way of them, as opposed to when affairs are pursued in a rigid and haphazard manner, for indeed this might lead to regret and harm. [3]

Abu Hurairah, may Allāh be pleased with him, said that the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, said: “The consultee is in a position of trust”. [Sahih  Sunan Abi Dawud. 5128]

The consultee is in a position of trust]. He is the one whose opinion is sought after regarding an affair of Maslahah (i.e. an affair that will bring about benefit and repel harm). He is in a position of trust with regards to what he is asked and it is not permissible for him to deceive the one who consults him, by concealing the affair that would bring about benefit. [4]

This hadith is evidence, showing that the consultee has to (advise) with the course of action and opinion -in relation to the consultation – that which he would do for himself. And it is not permissible that he directs his Muslim brother to something he would not be pleased with for himself. [5]

We ask Allah:

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. Reflection: Surah Al-Jumu’ah Verses 1-2

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah, Al-Malik (a), Al-Quddoos (b), the Al-Azeez (c), Al-Hakim. (d) [Al- Jumu’ah 1]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Everything in the heavens and the earth glorify Allah and obey His commands, deify and worship Him, because indeed His dominion is perfect and He owns the world above and below – all are His slaves and under His (absolute) control.

The pure and perfect one- free from all defect and deficiency (or shortcoming).

The All Mighty or Invincible – the One (alone) Who has subjected all things (under His control).

The All Wise in relation to what He has created and commanded (or decreed).

These great Attributes urges (evokes the creation) to worship Allah alone without associating a partner to Him. [1]

Imam Ibn Al-Jawzi,  may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Allah, The Most High, informed (us) that everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him- all the creation, including the inanimate objects, as Allah said:

The seven heavens and the earth and all that is therein, glorify Him and there is not a thing but glorifies His Praise. But you understand not their glorification. [Al-Israa 44] [2]

He it is Who sent among the unlettered ones a Messenger (Muhammad) from among themselves, reciting to them His Verses, purifying them and teaching them the Book and Al-Hikmah (As-Sunnah)). And verily, they had been before in mainfest error.

Imam As-Sadi, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said:

The intent behind Al-Ummiyyeen  [Unlettered ones] are those who neither had a book [i.e. a revealed book from Allah] nor a fragment of (remaining) divine revelation, (such as) the Arabs and other than them, who are not from the people of the Scriptures (Jews and Christians).

So, Allah, The Most High, bestowed a great favour on them – greater than His favour on others- because (prior to this), they had no knowledge, goodness (that which would lead them to righteousness in this life and success in the afterlife), and were upon clear misguidance.

They worshipped trees, idols and stones, and behaved like wild beasts -the strong amongst them devoured the weak. They were upon extreme ignorance in (with regards to guidance of the) Prophets.

Thereafter, Allah sent a Prophet from among themselves – they knew his lineage, beautiful characteristics and truthfulness. (Allah) revealed His Book (i.e. the Qur’an) to him;

reciting to them His Verses;

Meaning: Allah’s clear verses that necessitate Iman and certainty.

[وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ – purifying them] by commanding them virtuous manners, explaining in detail and forbidding them from evil manners.

And teaching them the Book (this Qur’an) and Al-Hikmah.

Meaning, teaching them the Qur’an and the Sunnah, which combines the knowledge of earlier and later generations.

So, after this education and purification, they become the most knowledgeable among the creation (after the prophets and messengers), rather, they became the leaders of the people of knowledge and religion – the most perfect in their manners among the creation, and the ones with the best guidance and character.

They became guided and others became guided through them, thus. they became the leaders of guidance and guides for the believers. Therefore, the sending of this Messenger to them is the most perfect favour and loftiest honour for them. [3]

Brief reminder to one who says to us, “Be on the Right Side – Not the Wrong Side – of History”

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

When they say, “Be on the right side of history,” we remind them by saying: “This statement of yours is ambiguous. What we understand from it is that we have to be completely upon the path of the Prophet, and not the path of those who advocate progress, morality, what is acceptable, or what will be accepted by future generations based on their views. Rather, all these matters must be determined based on the unadulterated path of the Messengers of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon them. In this regard, we remind you of some of the following facts:”

Tawhid – The Original Religion and Path of Humankind and Jinn

Allah, The Most High, stated:

And I did not create the jinns and humans except to worship Me. I desire not from them any provision, and nor do I desire that they feed Me. (On the contrary), it is Allāh who is the Great Provider, the possessor of mighty strength. [Adh-Dhariyat 56-58] [a]

Allah said:

And verily, We have sent among every nation a Messenger (saying): Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) from all false deities, i.e. do not worship anything besides Allah. ” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [An-Nahl. 36]

Allah said:

Mankind were one community and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. And only those to whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it after clear proofs had come unto them through hatred, one to another. Then Allah by His Leave guided those who believed to the truth of that wherein they differed. And Allah guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. [Al-Baqarah. 213]

Allah said:

Mankind were but one community (i.e. on one religion – Islamic Monotheism), then they differed (later), and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed]. [Yunus. 19]

Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said:

Between Nuh and Adam, all of them used to be upon the true path [worshipping Allah alone], then they differed and started worshipping idols, false deities and images, then Allah sent Messengers with clear proofs and evidences. [b]

Shirk first started amongst the people of Nuh when they exaggerated (the status) of the righteous people and turned away from the call of their Prophet [Nuh] out of pride. They said: “You shall not leave your gods, nor shall you leave Wadd, nor Suwa’, nor Yaghuth, nor Ya’uq, nor Nasr”. [Nuh. Ayah 23]

Imam Al-Bukhari, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

It has been narrated from Ibn Abbas that these were the names of pious people amongst the people of Nuh, and when they died, Shaytan inspired their people to (prepare) and place idols at the places where they used to sit, and to call those idols by their names. They did so, but did not worship them until those people (who initiated them) had died and the origin of the idols had become obscure, whereupon people began worshipping them”. [c]

All prophets and messengers were Muslims as they submitted to Allah and worshipped Him alone without ascribing partners to Him in worship. Read here: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2020/10/18/one-must-call-himself-a-muslim-if-he-truly-follows-the-path-of-the-prophets-and-messengers/

This is the faith that Allah designated for both humanity and Jinn, aligning perfectly with the sound innate disposition. Allah said:

So, set you “O Muhammad” your face towards the religion of pure Islamic Monotheism, worshipping Allah alone by devoting all forms of worship purely for Him. The natural state which Allah determined and upon which He created and moulded mankind. Let there be no change in the creation of Allah “Islamic Monotheism. That is the straight religion, but most of men do not know. [Ar-Rum 30]

Iyaa Ibn Himar, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

Verily, my Lord has commanded me to teach you what you do not know, from what he has taught me this day, “All wealth I bestowed upon them is lawful. I have created all of My servants inclined to worship me alone, but devils come to them who turn them away from their religion. They outlaw what has been made lawful for them, and they command them to associate partners with Me for which no authority has been revealed”. Verily, Allah looked at the people of the earth and He detested all of them, Arabs and non-Arabs alike, except for remnants of the people of the Book”. [Ṣaḥīh Muslim 2865]

All of humanity, the descendants of Adam and Hawa, were created with the purpose of worshiping Allah alone. Throughout history, Allah has sent messengers to guide us back to this divine path whenever we have strayed, often due to the deceptions of shaytan. In light of this truth, the only course left for us is to follow the final Prophet, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. In this context, concepts like colonization or decolonization become irrelevant; what truly matters is the religion established by our Creator. Ultimately, individuals have been given the free will to choose to submit to Islam, worship Allah alone and follow His last Prophet, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. They are not forced or coerce, but if they choose other than Islam, they have made a choice for which they will be held accountable in the Hereafter. Allah said:

There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in all false deities and believes in Allah (by worshipping Him alone), he has indeed grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. [Al-Baqarah 256]

Allah said:

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. [Aal Imran 85]

Therefore, what is essential to understand is that an individual faces a choice: to either adhere to the traditions of ancestors after the arrival of the Prophets and Messengers or to wholeheartedly submit to the path of Prophets and Messengers, with Muhammad being the final Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon all of them. True beliefs must align with the revelations given to the Prophets and Messengers, rather than the customs of forebears that contradict their teachings. Sadly, some African Americans and African intellectuals have attempted to muddy this straightforward issue. As African Muslims, we are called to follow the path of the final Prophet in both belief and practice, just like any Muslim around the globe. Cultural customs from any group, whether Arab or non-Arab, are acceptable as long as they do not conflict with the final divine message. It is perfectly fine for individuals from different backgrounds to adopt and celebrate the cultural practices of others, provided these do not contradict the final revelation. We will share insights from scholars on this topic shortly, but for now, it is crucial to reiterate that one must choose between the path of the final Prophet or the ancestral traditions that stand in opposition to divine guidance. Historically, the latter has been a common fallacy among nations when Messengers urged them to return to the right path.

Al-Allamah Salih al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, stated:

Indeed, polytheistic (practices and beliefs) have become rife within this Ummah due to detachment from (he teachings of)the Qur’an and the Sunnah, blindly following ancestors without proper guidance, elevating the status of deceased figures by constructing (shrines and tombs) over their graves, and due to being ignorant of the Islam that Allah instructed His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, as Umar Ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “The very foundations of Islam will crumble one by one when a generation arises that is unaware of the ignorance that preceded Islam.” Furthermore, the proliferation of Shubhah—doubts that masquerade as truth but are fundamentally false—has led many astray. Among these misconceptions is the argument used by those who engage in Shirk, both in the past and present, claiming legitimacy by adhering to the beliefs of their forefathers. Allah said:

And similarly, We sent not a warner before you (O Muhammad) to any town (people) but the luxurious ones among them said: “We found our fathers following a certain way and religion, and we will indeed follow their footsteps.” [Az-zukhruf 23]

Therefore, following ancestors is only praiseworthy if they were upon the truth. Allah [The Most High] said that Yusuf, peace be upon him, said:

And I have followed the religion of my fathers, – Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya’qub (Jacob), and never could we attribute any partners whatsoever to Allah. This is from the Grace of Allah to us and to mankind, but most men thank not (i.e. they neither believe in Allah, nor worship Him). [Yusuf. 38]

This doubt was embedded in the souls of the polytheists and they utilised it to oppose the call of the Prophets. Allah said:

And indeed We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people, and he said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him (Islamic Monotheism). Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?” But the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said: “He is no more than a human being like you, he seeks to make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing among our fathers of old]. [Al-Muminoon. 23-24]

So, they used as proof that which their ancestors were upon to oppose that which their Prophet Nuh brought. Allah informed us that the people of Sali said to him: “Do you (now) forbid us the worship of what our fathers have worshipped?”[Hud. 62]

The people of Shu’aib said: “Does your Salat (prayer) (i.e. the prayers which you offer has spoiled your mind, so you) command that we leave off what our fathers used to worship]. [Hud. 87]

Allah informed us about Ibraheem and his people when he silenced them with clear proofs: “What do you worship?” They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted”. He said: “Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? “Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?” They said: “Nay, but we found our fathers doing so”. [Ash-Shu’ara 70-74]

This is the nature of disbelief! Its people do not have any proof by way of which to repel the truth except these flimsy proofs. [d]

The Majority Has – Most of The Time – Being Upon Guidance

Allah, The Most High, said:

And indeed We bestowed grace on David from Us (saying): “O you mountains. Glorify (Allah) with him! And you birds (also)! And We made the iron soft for him.’’ Saying: ‘’Make you perfect coats of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armour, and work you (men) righteousness. Truly, I am All-Seer of what you do.’’ And to Solomon (We subjected) the wind, its morning (stride from sunrise till mid noon) was a month’s (journey), and its afternoon (stride from the midday decline of the sun to sunset) was a month’s (journey i.e. in one day he could travel two months’ journey). And We caused a fount of (molten) brass to flow for him, and there were jinns that worked in front of him, by the Leave of his Lord, and whosoever of them turned aside from Our Command, We shall cause him to taste of the torment of the blazing Fire. They worked for him what he desired, (making) high rooms, images, basins as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places). “Work you, O family of Dawud (David), with thanks!” But few of My slaves are grateful. [Sabah. 10-13]

Work you, O family of Dawud (David), with thanks! But few of My slaves are grateful.

Meaning, the majority of humankind are not grateful to Allah for the blessings bestowed on them nor are they grateful due to the punishments that are averted. As for Shukr (gratefulness), it is the heart’s acknowledgment of Allah’s blessings and to utilise them in obedience to Allah and not in disobedience. [1]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance). And most of them We found not (true) to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). [Al-A’raf. 100-100-102]

Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not?

Meaning, Allah, The Most High, informs those who inherit the earth -in succession- from those who preceded them that He destroyed their forefathers due to their sins, yet they commit the same sins that were committed by their forefathers! Do they not take heed that had Allah willed He would punish them due to their sins because this is how Allah deals with mankind – both the previous nations and those who inherited the earth after them. Allah warned those who inherited the earth from the previous nations, but they did not take heed, sent them reminders but they did not reflect and showed them guidance through signs [i.e. revelations through the Prophets and Messengers, as well as miracles within universe and themselves] but they did not follow guidance, so Allah punished them by sealing their hearts – neither did truth enter their hearts nor did good reach their hearts; nor did they give an attentive ear (to the truth); rather they only heard that which established the proofs against them.

Then Allah, The Most High, said:

Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance).

Meaning, messengers came and called them to that which will lead to happiness (in the life and the next), and those messengers were given manifest signs and clear evidence to clarify the truth, but the people did not listen and were not benefited. And because they belied those manifest signs and clear proofs after being well aware of them, Allah prevented them from accepting the sound and infallible creed ordained by Him. This was punishment on them because they rejection the truth, just as Allah said in Surah Al-An’aam Ayah 110:

And We shall turn their hearts and their eyes away (from guidance), as they refused to believe therein for the first time, and We shall leave them in their trespass to wander blindly].

Then Allah said:

And most of them We found not (true) to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Meaning, the majority of the nations to whom Allah sent Messengers were not true to their covenant; neither were they steadfast nor did they adhere to the commands of Allah, nor did they submit obediently to the commands of Allah which the Messengers ordered them to obey; rather they followed their desires, except a very few of them. The majority of them turned away from guidance out of arrogance, so Allah sent them various types of punishment. [2]

Allah, The Most High, said in Surah Saad Ayah 24:

And, verily, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous good deeds] – Meaning, because oppression is one of those habits [i.e. evil habits] of the soul.

Except those who believe and do righteous good deeds.

Meaning: Their Iman and righteous deeds prevents them from committing oppression.

And they are few]. [3]

Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Let every Muslim be careful of being deceived by the great numbers (of people upon such and such ideas, views, beliefs, way of life, etc), while saying, “Indeed, the people have become such and such, and have become accustomed to such and such, so I am with them”. This is a great calamity because many people of the past were destroyed due to this.

Therefore, O sensible one! It is obligated to you to examine yourself, take account of yourself, and adhere to the truth, even if the people abandon it. Beware of what Allah has forbidden, even if the people do it, for indeed the truth is more worthy of being followed just as Allah, The Most High, said:

And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah’s Path. [Al An-aam 116]

Allah said:

And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly. [Yusuf  103]. [4]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

When the hypocrites and those in whose hearts there is a disease saw that the party of Allah [i.e. the believers] were small in number and the enemies of Allah were numerous, they thought that victory would be for those who were huge in number. Allah said that the hypocrites said:

These people (Muslims) are deceived by their religion. [Al-Anfaal 49]

So, Allah informed (them) that victory is achieved by placing one’s trust and reliance upon Allah and not due to being huge in number because Allah cannot be defeated; rather Allah is All-Wise and He aids those who deserve help, even if they are weak. Allah is the All-Wise and All-Mighty, and this necessitates that He will aid the party that truly relies upon Him. [5]

Abu Shaamah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “When the command to adhere to the Jamaa’ah (the main body) is (mentioned), then the intent behind it is to adhere to the truth, even if those who follow it are few and those who oppose it are numerous. That is because the truth is that which the first Jamaa’ah was upon- the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, and one does not give consideration to the numerous people of falsehood. [6]

Al-Allamah Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

If numbers are the scale by way of which you judge, then the majority are mostly blameworthy; and if persuasive speech and eloquence is the scale by way of which you judge, then indeed Allah described the Munaafiqoon that they have tongues that utter beautiful speech. Allah said:

And when they speak, you listen to their words. [Al-Munaafiqoon. 4]

Therefore, what is given consideration is that one knows the people of truth by their characteristics – that they call to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his family, and companions], and they neither desire reward from the people nor seeking to be thanked. [7]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Even though there is something in the paths of analogical reasoning and reflection that will lead to knowledge, however sometimes it cannot give a detailed explanation in a dispute between the people of the earth due to the minute details and ambiguities [in that dispute], and at other times due to the fact the people differ when prioritising necessities. Therefore, due to this Allah [The Most High] commanded [us] to return to the revelation in times of dispute. Allah [The Most High] said:

Mankind was one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allah’s Shari’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them, He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. [Al-Baqarah. 213]

Therefore, Allah, The Most High, designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’an being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ. [8]

The Bad Behaviour of Most of The Elite and Intellectuals In Various Societies

Allah said:

Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!” The Mala [the notables, leaders and chiefs] amongst his people said, “Verily, we see you in plain error”. [Al-A’raf.  59-60]

Allah said:

And to ‘Ad (people, We sent) their brother Hud. He said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Will you not fear (Allah)?” The Mala [notables, leaders and chiefs] who disbelieved among his people said: “Verily, we see you in foolishness, and verily, we think you are one of the liars.” [Al-A’raaf. 65-66]

Allah said:

And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih (Saleh). He said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Indeed there has come to you a clear sign (the miracle of the coming out of a huge she-camel from the midst of a rock) from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign unto you; so you leave her to graze in Allah’s earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should seize you. “And remember when He made you successors after ‘Ad (people) and gave you habitations in the land, you build for yourselves palaces in plains, and carve out homes in the mountains. So remember the graces (bestowed upon you) from Allah, and do not go about making mischief on the earth.” The Mala [leaders, notables and chiefs] of those who were arrogant among his people said to those who were counted weak – to such of them as believed: “Know you that Salih (Saleh) is one sent from his Lord.” They said: “We indeed believe in that with which he has been sent.” Those who were arrogant said: “Verily, we disbelieve in that which you believe in.” [Al-A’raf. 73-78]

Allah said:

And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), (We sent) their brother Shu’aib. He said: “O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. [La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)].” Verily, a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not mischief on the earth after it has been set in order, that will be better for you, if you are believers. “And sit not on every road, threatening, and hindering from the Path of Allah those who believe in Him. and seeking to make it crooked. And remember when you were but few, and He multiplied you. And see what was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, liars). “And if there is a party of you who believes in that with which I have been sent and a party who do not believe, so be patient until Allah judges between us, and He is the Best of judges.” The Mala [leaders, notables and chiefs] of those who were arrogant among his people said: “We shall certainly drive you out, O Shu’aib, and those who have believed with you from our town, or else you (all) shall return to our religion.” He said: “Even though we hate it! [Surah Al-A’raaf. Verses 86-88]

Allah said:

The Mala [leaders, notables and chiefs] of the people of Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: “This (i.e. Prophet Musa) is indeed a well-versed sorcerer; he wants to get you out of your land, so what do you advise?” [Al-A’raf.  109]

Allah said:

The Mala (leaders, notables and chiefs) of Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh) people said: “Will you leave Musa (Moses) and his people to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?” He said: “We will kill their sons, and let live their women, and we have indeed irresistible power over them.”Al-A’raf. 127]

Allah said:

Then, after them (i.e. the people of Prophet Nooh), We created another generation. 32. And We sent to them a Messenger from among themselves (saying): “Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?”

And the Mala [leaders, notables and chiefs] of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: “He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. “If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers. “Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? “Far, very far is that which you are promised. “There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! “He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him.” He said: “O my Lord! Help me because they deny me.” (Allah) said: “In a little while, they are sure to be regretful.” So As-Saihah (torment – awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). [Al-Muminoon. 31-41]

Allah said:

Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: “O Mala (leaders, chiefs and notables)! I know not that you have an ilah (a god) other than me, so kindle for me (a fire), O Haman, to bake (bricks out of) clay, and set up for me a Sarhan (a lofty tower, or palace, etc.) in order that I may look at (or look for) the Ilah (God) of Musa (Moses); and verily, I think that he [Musa (Moses)] is one of the liars.” And he and his hosts were arrogant in the land, without right, and they thought that they would never return to Us. So We seized him and his hosts, and We threw them all into the sea (and drowned them). So behold (O Muhammad ) what was the end of the Zalimun [wrong-doers, polytheists and those who disbelieved in the Oneness of their Lord (Allah), or rejected the advice of His Messenger Musa (Moses)]. And We made them leaders inviting to the Fire, and on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped. And We made a curse to follow them in this world, and on the Day of Resurrection, they will be among Al-Maqbuhun (those who are prevented to receive Allah’s Mercy or any good, despised or destroyed, etc.). [Al-Qasas. 38-42]

Allah said:

And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad ) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: “This (Prophet Muhammad ) is a sorcerer, a liar. “Has he (Muhammad) made the aliha (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God – Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!” And the Mala (leaders, notable and chiefs) among them went about (saying): “Go on, and remain constant to your aliha (gods)! Verily, This is a thing designed (against you)! We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention!] [Saad. 4-7]

Allah said:

And We did not send a warner to a township, but those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: “We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent.” And they say: “We are more in wealth and in children, and we are not going to be punished.” [Saba. 34-35]

Every Town Had Its Wicked Figureheads And Plotters Against The Messengers And Their True Followers!

Allah said:

And thus We have set up in every town the greatest of its criminals to plot therein. But they plot not except against their ownselves, and they perceive (it) not. [Al-An’aam. 123]

And thus We have set up in every town the greatest of its criminals.

Meaning: Those figureheads whose crimes were great and whose transgressions were severe.

[لِيَمۡڪُرُواْ فِيهَا‌ۖ -to plot therein]

Meaning: Through deception, calling to the path of shaytan and waging war – through speech and deeds- against the Messengers and their followers. However, their plots and machinations only backfired on them. This is because they plotted and Allah too was planning, and Allah is the Best of the planners.

Likewise Allah set up great ones amongst the leaders of guidance and the most virtuous of them, who opposed those criminals, refuted their statements and strove against them in the path of Allah. They followed the paths leading to the path (of Allah) and Allah aided them. Allah gave them an acute discernment and kept them steadfast. So the days of victory and defeat alternated between them and their enemies, until the affair came to its final end-victory and triumph (for the believers) and the good final end is for the Muttaqoon (i.e. the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]. [9]

Allah said:

Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and will say: “Where are My (so called) ‘partners’ concerning whom you used to disagree and dispute (with the believers, by defying and disobeying Allah)?” Those who have been given the knowledge (about the Torment of Allah for the disbelievers) will say: “Verily! Disgrace this Day and misery are upon the disbelievers. [An-Nahl. 26-27]

Those before them indeed plotted]:

The Mufassiroon say that this refers to Namrud who built a tall tower in order to climb – as he claimed – the heavens and fight its inhabitants.

But Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them.: The Mufassiroon say: Allah sent a wind which flung the top of the tower to the sea and the rest was destroyed. [وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ – and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive]: Meaning, from where they thought they were safe.

[ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ – Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace]: Meaning, disgraced with punishment. [An Excerpt from ‘Zad Al-Maseer Fee Ilm at-Tafseer By Imaam Ibn Al- Jawzi]

[قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ – Those before them indeed plotted]: Meaning plotted against their Messengers, employed various types of tricks in order to reject that which the messengers brought and established gigantic safeguards [by way of arguments, views etc] on their plots. [فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ – but Allah struck at the foundation of their building]– Meaning, an affair came to them from its basis and foundation [فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ – and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them] -Meaning, so what they built became a punishment for them. [وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ – and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive]: Meaning, that is because they thought that such a building will benefit and protect them from punishment, but their punishment occurred from that which they built and established.

This is one the best of parables regarding how Allah nullifies the plots of his enemies, for indeed they pondered and reflected on that which the Messengers brought when they belied them, made up principles and rules for it based on falsehood, referred back to them to reject that which the Messengers came with, employed tricks to bring discomfort to the Messengers and inflict harm on them and those who followed them, but their plot became a source of evil against them, so their plan became their destruction, because their plot was evil as Allah said: [ وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ – But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it]. [Surah Faatir: Ayah: 43]

This is in this worldly life and the punishment in the afterlife would be more disgraceful, and due to this Allaah said: [ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ – Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them]. [10]

Allah said:

Verily, Fir’aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidoon]. [Al-Qasas. 4]

[وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِيَعً۬ا – and made its people sects]- Meaning: Different group that were organised and distinguished, and he utilised each group in that which he desired in his kingdom. [11] He made them into sects and different groups to serve him and they went along with what he wanted and obeyed him. [12]

He made them into different distinct groups, dealt with them based on his evil desires and subjugated them as he wanted by means of his power and authority. [13]

He divided them into different sects and they went along with him in everything he desired of evil and corruption, or he used some as a means to get others to obey him; or he made them into different distinct groups under his service and used every group in some type of work, such as construction, tillage, earthwork [drilling etc] and other burdensome work, and whoever did not work was beaten, so they served him by doing so; or he made them into sects and incited hatred and enmity between them, so that they do not come to an agreement [or become united in their stance against him]. [14]

[ إِنَّهُ ۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ – Verily, he was of the Mufsidoon]- Meaning: Those whose intention is neither to rectify the religious nor worldly affairs, and this was from his corrupt behaviour in the earth; [15] committing unlawful killing and being disobedient to Allah. [16]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The fact that a statement regarding something is lies and falsehood is sometimes known based on the statement in and of itself, its contradictions, perplexity and the manifestation of those clear indications which shows that it is lies. Lies may manifest due to what it is in reality, what is apparent and what is being concealed. It is sometimes known due to the situation of the utterer of the lie, for indeed the one who is known for lying, wickedness and deception, his statements do not show anything else except a state of conformity with his deeds. He does not utter a statement or perform an action similar to that of a pious and truthful person – the one innocent of every evil, deception, lie and wicked behaviour; rather the heart, intention, statements and deeds of the truthful one have the same image; and the heart, statements, deeds and intentions of the liar have the same image. [17]

The Difference Between Desire For Righteous Leadership and Pursuit of Leadership For Exaltedness In The Earth

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The difference between the desire for righteous leadership as opposed to merely desiring leadership: It is the difference between exalting the command of Allah and being sincere to Allaah as opposed to love of exalting oneself and hastening towards the fulfilment of desires. Indeed the one who is sincere to Allaah and exalts Him, he loves that his Lord is obeyed and not disobeyed; [loves that] Allaah’s Word should be uppermost and that all affairs of the religion should be established sincerely for the sake of Allaah, and [that] the servants should obey Allaah’s commands and keep away from what Allaah has forbidden. He is sincere in his servitude to Allaah and sincere to Allaah’s creation in calling them to the path of Allaah. So he loves to be [an upright] leader in the religion; rather he asks his Lord to make him from the leaders of the righteous people who are followed, just as he is a follower of the righteous. Therefore, if this servant -[i.e. this person] who calls to Allaah- loves that he is considered dignified in the eyes [of the people], revered and beloved in their hearts and is one followed amongst them, so that he is trusted by them and they follow the example of the Messenger through him, then this [desire of his] does not harm him; rather he is praised for it. That is because the caller to Allaah loves that Allaah is obeyed and singled out in worship. He loves to be a means by way of which [people] are aided to [obey Allaah, single out Allaah in worship and follow the Messenger]. And due to this, [when] Allah mentioned those chosen slaves of His- whom He praised in His revelation and will grant the best of reward on the day they meet Him- He mentioned them with the best of their deeds and characteristics, and then said:

And those who say: “Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the pious. [Al-Furqan. 74]

So they ask Allah to grant them the comfort of the eye by making their wives and offspring obedient to Allah, and to grant them happiness in their hearts due to being followed by the righteous in obedience and servitude to Allah. That is because a trustworthy leader in the religion co-operates with [others] upon obedience [to Allah and His Messenger], and that is to call them to [sound] leadership in the religion, whose foundation is patience and certainty, as Allah [The Most High] said:

And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)]. [Surah as-Sajdah. Verse 24]

Therefore, in their supplication -[in Surah Al-Furqaan Ayah 74]- to Allah that He makes them leaders of the righteous people, is that Allah guides them, grants them success, bless them with beneficial knowledge and righteous actions–outwardly and inwardly–without which [sound] leadership in the religion cannot be achieved.

This is different from [merely] seeking leadership, for indeed its seekers hasten to obtain it in order to achieve their goals, [such as] exaltedness in the earth; enslavement of the hearts to them, attachment to them and aiding them in all their goals, whilst they are exalted and everyone subservient to them. This pursuit of leadership brings about corruption-which none can enumerate except Allah- such as rebellion, envy, transgression, enmity, oppression, trials, being ardent in defending oneself at the expense of violating the rights of Allah, exalting those despised by Allah and belittling those honoured by Allah. Contemplation – From the Takbir to Al-Fatihah

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah is the Greatest:

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

When one says this, they have testified to Allah’s Majesty.

I declare You free from all imperfections O Allāh, and all praise is for You. Blessed is Your Name, great and exalted is Your kingdom. And there is none worthy of worship besides You [1]

When one says this, they have testified with the heart that the Lord is free from every fault, removed from every shortcoming and worthy of praise with every perfect praise. This necessitates that Allah is described with every Attribute of perfection and free from every deficiency – blessed be His Name. Neither is His Name mentioned in a small matter except that it becomes big nor in something good except that it increases and becomes blessed; neither mentioned in a state of affliction except that it ceases nor mentioned against a Shaytan except that the Shaytan is repelled, turned away and defeated. The perfection of a name is from the perfection of the one named with it; therefore when it is the fact that nothing can cause harm in the heavens or the earth with (a mention) of His Name, then the affair of the owner of the name is loftier and more exalted.

Great and exalted is Your kingdom.

Meaning: Exalted is His Greatness and above everything that is considered great. His affair is exalted above every affair and every authority (kingdom) is completely under His absolute authority, and exalted is He above having a partner in His kingdom, Lordship, deity ship, His actions and Attributes, just as (He informed us) that the believers amongst the Jinn said:

And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children)]. [Al-Jinn. 3]

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed devil.

When the person says this, they have turned to Allah’s all encompassing power against the enemy (shaytaan) who wants to sever, and separate them from the Lord and distance them from earning the love, pleasure and assistance of the Lord, and leave them in the worst situation.

When he says:

“All the praises and thanks be to Allah Lord of the entire existence”, he pauses a little to wait for the response of his Lord with the statement “My servant has praised Me”.

When he says:

“The Most Merciful, The Bestower of (special) to the believers”, he waits for the response “My servant has exalted Me”.

When he says:

“The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)”, he waits for the response, “My servant has glorified Me”.

What a pleasure for his heart, pleasure of his eyes and happiness of his soul due to the statement of his Lord, “My servant” three times. By Allah, had there not been the smudge of desires on the hearts and the murkiness of the souls, they would have sparkle with joy and happiness due to the statement of their Lord, their Originator and object of worship (when He says):

“My servant has praised Me”, “My servant has exalted Me” and “My servant has glorified Me”.

Then his heart would have had room to draw close attention to these three Names, namely “Allah”, “Ar-Rabb” and “Ar-Rahman”, which are the basis of all the beautiful (and perfect Names). [2]

The complete hadith mentioned above is as follows:

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

“Allah [Almighty] said, “I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves, and My servant shall have what he has asked for. When the servant says, ‘All praises and thanks be to Allaah, Lord of the entire existence’, Allah says, ‘My servant has praised Me. When he says, ‘The Most Merciful, The Bestower of (special) Mercy to the believers’, Allah says, ‘ My servant has exalted Me’. When he says, ‘The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)’, Allah says, ‘My servant has glorified’. When he says, ‘You alone we worship, You alone we ask for help’, Allah says, ‘This is between Me and My servant, and My servant will have what he has asked for’. When he says, ‘Guide us to the straight path, the path of those whom you have favored, neither the path of who earned Your anger nor those who went astray”, Allah says, ‘This is for My servant, and My servant will have what he has asked for'”. [3]

Regarding the statement: “I have divided prayer between Myself and My servant into two halves”, its meaning is: three and half verses in Surah Al-Fatihah are for the Lord and they are the first part of the Surah. And three and half verses are for the servant and they are the last verses. The first part is about praising Allah and the last part are supplications for the servant”.[4]
