O Hasty Young Man! Know What Blameworthy Blind Following Is, Before You Accuse Others

Ibn Abdul-Barr (rahimahullaah) said:

According to the scholars, Taqleed (i.e. blind following) is other than Ittibaa. That is because Ittibaa is to follow a person based on what is apparent to you based on the superiority of his statement and soundness of his school of thought. And Taqleed is that you speak with his statement, whilst you neither know the angle of his speech nor its meaning and you reject speech besides it; or his mistake is made manifest to you, but you follow him and venerate his opposition (to the truth), whilst the corruptness of his speech is clear to you. This is what is forbidden to speak with in the religion of Allaah (The Most High).

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan and Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi Spoke about Kitaab At-Tawheed; So Do Not Give Any Consideration to the Opinions of the Entertainers, Comedians and the People of Bidah Who Wish to Devalue the Status of Kitaab At-Tawheed

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Kitaab At-Tawheed Written by Imaam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhaab (rahimahullaah)

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said about Kitaab at-Tawheed:

This is from the most precious books that have been written in the subject matter of Tawheed because it is based on the Book (of Allaah) and the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam). [1]

Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi (rahimahullaah) said: From the upright books a Muslim cannot do without is Fat-hul Majeed Sharh Kitaab At-Tawheed. [2]

A Traveller Eating In the Late Afternoon In The Presence of the People during Ramadhaan – Shaikh Abdullaah Bin Humaid

Question to Shaikh Abdullaah Bin Humaid (rahimahullaah)

Some of the people come for Umrah and eat in the Haram because they are travellers; but they eat in the presence of the people. Is it permissible for them to do so?

Answer:

It is permissible for a traveller to eat, but the scholars have stated that he (or she) should not eat in the presence of the people. He (or she) should eat in private lest the people disapproved of him (or her) and say that this person is thoughtless or lest the sinful people blindly follow him (or her).

You have a (legislated) excuse because you are a traveler. But it is not befitting that you eat in the presence of the people because they will accuse you and a person is commanded to safeguard his (or her) honour. Also the sinful people will follow you when they see you eating, saying: ‘’Such and such a person eats so we will also eat like him.’’

And indeed the scholars from the Hanaabilah (i.e. the scholars of the Madhab of Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) and other than them have stated that it is permissible for the traveller to eat during the day in Ramadhaan and there is no harm in doing so, except that it is not befitting for him (or her) to eat in the presence of the people, rather of he (or she) should eat in private.

Why do you seek knowledge? Ponder upon this statement of Imaam Ahmad

Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) stated:

(There) is nothing equal to knowledge, for the one who makes his intention correct (i.e. sincere). So they (i.e. the people) said: And how do (we) make the intention correct (i.e. sincere) O father of Abdullaah?! He said: You make an intention to remove ignorance from yourself and others.

Keeping a distance from a Mubtadi even if he has knowledge of fiqh and hadeeth-[Shaikh Fawzaan(may Allaah preserve him)] clarifies

This questioner says:

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

If a student of knowledge utters innovation and calls to it, and he is one with Fiqh and (knowledge of) Hadeeth; does his speech of innovation necessitate an invalidation of his knowledge and his (knowledge) of hadeeth, and not to (benefit from) him unrestrictedly?

Answer:

Yes, he is not to be trusted; the one who is an Innovator is neither to be trusted nor his knowledge, nor (to have) a lackadaisical (stance) towards him. That is because if you (have) a lackadaisical (stance) towards him, the student will be influenced by his Shaikh-he will be influenced by his teacher. Therefore, it is obligatory to be distanced from the people of innovation, and the Salaf (pious predecessors) used to forbid (others) from sitting with the innovators, visiting and going to them; so that their evil is not spread to the one who sits with them and mixes with them.
