Defend a Turkish Muslim Leader and Rebuke an Italian Ideologue! [Who Had a Fascist Mentor (Mussolini) – The Muslims or Yourselves?!]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Italian PM calls President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan [may Allaah preserve him and all our Muslim rulers] ‘a dictator’ due to some alleged misdeed. Indeed, this is expected from the Kuffaar ideologues and those who deviated from the path of their Prophets. Verbal attacks and severe envy is expected from them. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

You shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you and from those who ascribe partners to Allah, but if you persevere patiently, and become Al-Muttaqun (the pious) then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs, and that is from the great matters, [which you must hold on with all your efforts]. [Surah Aal Imran. Verse 186]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Neither those who disbelieve among the people of the Scripture nor Al-Mushrikun (the disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, idolaters, polytheists, pagans, etc.) like that there should be sent down unto you any good from your Lord. But Allah chooses for His Mercy whom He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 105]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Many of the people of the Scripture wish that if they could turn you away as disbelievers after you have believed, out of envy from their ownselves, even, after the truth (that Muhammad Peace be upon him is Allah’s Messenger) has become manifest unto them. But forgive and overlook, till Allah brings His Command. Verily, Allah is Able to do all things. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 109]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Never will the Jews nor the Christians [i.e. those amongst them who deviated from the path of their Prophets] be pleased with you till you follow their religion. Say: “Verily, the Guidance of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) that is the (only) Guidance. And if you were to follow their desires after what you have received of Knowledge (i.e. the Quran), then you would have against Allah neither any Wali (protector or guardian) nor any helper. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 120]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَدَّت طَّآٮِٕفَةٌ۬ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ لَوۡ يُضِلُّونَكُمۡ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمۡ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

A party of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) wish to lead you astray. But they shall not lead astray anyone except themselves, and they perceive not. [Surah Aal Imran. Verse 69]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They believe in Jibt and Taghut and say to the disbelievers that they are better guided as regards the way than the believers (Muslims). They are those whom Allah has cursed, and he whom Allah curses, you will not find for him (any) helper, Or have they a share in the dominion? Then in that case they would not give mankind even a Naqira (speck on the back of a date-stone). Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His Bounty? Then We had already given the family of Ibrahim (Abraham) the Book and AlHikmah (AsSunnah – Divine Inspiration to those Prophets not written in the form of a book), and conferred upon them a great kingdom. [Surah An-Nisaa. Verses 51-54]

How Do We Approach The Affair of The Nations of The Past

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Many similar mishaps [troubles, problems] of life were faced by nations that have passed away before you, so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who disbelieved. [3:137]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Indeed, there were nations like yourselves before you, so look to their evil end. You have to know that the reason behind their evil end was due to their disbelief in the revelations of Allaah and disbelief in Allaah’s Messengers. They were the forefathers and you are the descendants. The main affair that connects you to each other is your disbelief and the ruling on that disbelief is destruction”. (1)

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “If it is said, “What is the benefit in narrating to us the stories of the destroyed nations despite the fact that this Ummah will not be completely destroyed in a manner similar to the destruction of the previous nations before it?” The Answer: Indeed, this has two benefits: The first benefit is a clarification of Allaah’s blessings upon us that the occurrence of a complete destruction is removed from us, and that were it not for Allaah’s Benevolence we would have been deserving of it. Second, the likeness of the punishment they received may occur in the hereafter for the one who did what they did, if punishment was not received in the worldly life. And this may be understood from the statement of Allaah: “Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the population of towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful and severe. Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter.” So what is apparent from this Aayah is that what is similar to the punishment they received will happen in the Hereafter, and Allaah knows best. (2)

Reviving The Traditions of The Disbelievers

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The most hated people to Allaah are three: a person who deviates from right conduct [i.e. an evil doer] in the Haram [sanctuaries of Makkah and Medeenah], a person who seeks that the traditions of the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance should remain in Islam and a person who seeks to shed somebody’s blood without any right”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari 6882]

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “These three deeds are from the major sins. The first major sin is Al-Ilhaad Fil Haram [i.e. deviating from right conduct in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah]. Ilhaad means to deviate from the truth (and enter into) falsehood, and supporting falsehood in order to obliterate the truth. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] censured the Mulhideen Fil Haram [i.e. those who deviate from right conduction in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah], saying:

[وَمَن يُرِدۡ فِيهِ بِإِلۡحَادِۭ بِظُلۡمٍ۬ نُّذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ۬ – And whoever intends evil actions therein or to do wrong (i.e. practice polytheism and leave Islamic Monotheism), We shall make him taste a painful torment]. [Surah Al-Hajj. Aayah 25]
Allaah promised them (a severe punishment) due to the mere fact they intend evil actions therein [i.e. in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah], then how about perpetrating such deed! Indeed that would be a more severe sin, a more frightening state and a more severe punishment. This is a proof regarding the virtue of the sanctuaries of the Haram- that it is a sacred land chosen by Allaah and He made it a place where virtuous acts of worship are performed, (such as) the Hajj which is one of the pillars of Islaam. Allaah gave this place virtues that cannot be enumerated, such as the increased reward attached to good deeds [performed in Makkah and Madeenah] and gave this land virtue over all other lands of the earth.

The second major sin is committed by the person who wants that the pre-Islamic traditions should remain in Islaam, as if he gives precedence to the pre-Islamic traditions – the evil customs that were followed during that period and the misguided deeds- over the Islamic practices, Eemaan, Ihsaan, their virtue and virtue of the Sunnah. He is guilty of committing a major sin, and this includes giving precedence to religious innovations over (the authentic) Sunnah that guides to the straight path.

The third major sin is to seek to shed somebody’s blood without any right – meaning: seeking to shed the blood of a Muslim without right and doing so based on oppression and animosity. Shedding the blood of a Muslim is a great crime, just as the Prophet said, “The extinction of the whole world is less significant to Allaah than killing a Muslim [i.e. unlawfully]”. And he [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] stated regarding the rights of the Ka’bah, “How great you are and how great is your sanctity! But the sanctity of a believer is greater than yours in the sight of Allaah”. It is not permissible to transgress against the Muslims and the believers – males and females- in the sanctuaries of [Makkah and Madeenah] or in other places due to the great sin and punishment which results from that. (3)

Praiseworthy And Blameworthy Rejoicing

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قُلۡ بِفَضۡلِ ٱللَّهِ وَبِرَحۡمَتِهِۦ فَبِذَٲلِكَ فَلۡيَفۡرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيۡرٌ۬ مِّمَّا يَجۡمَعُونَ

Say: “In the Bounty of Allah, and in His Mercy; -therein let them rejoice.” That is better than what (the wealth) they amass.’’ [Surah Yonus. Verse 58]

[قُلۡ بِفَضۡلِ ٱللَّهِ -Say: In the Bounty of Allaah]- Meaning: the Qur’aan, which is the greatest blessing and favour, and a conferment by way of which Allaah preferred His [believing] slaves [over others]; [وَبِرَحۡمَتِهِ -And in His Mercy]-Meaning: The Religion [of Islaam], Eemaan, worship of Allaah, love of Him, and knowledge and awareness of Him; [فَلۡيَفۡرَحُواْ- Therein let them rejoice]; [هُوَ خَيۡرٌ۬ مِّمَّا يَجۡمَعُونَ – That is better than what they amass] of the enjoyable things of the worldly life and its pleasures.

The religion- the bounty that will bring about happiness in this life and the next- cannot be compared to all that is in this worldly life, [because these things of the worldly life] will vanish and come to an end very soon. Rather Allaah [The Most High] commanded [us] to rejoice in His Bounty and Mercy because it is that which will make the soul happy, thankful to Allaah, gives it a strong desire for an increase in knowledge and Eemaan. This is a praiseworthy rejoicing as opposed to rejoicing in the desires of this worldly life and its pleasures, or rejoicing in falsehood, for indeed that is blameworthy, as Allaah [The Most High] stated about a group amongst the people of Qaaroon that they said to him: [لَا تَفۡرَحۡ‌ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡفَرِحِينَ- Do not be glad (with ungratefulness to Allah’s Favours). Verily! Allah likes not those who are glad (with ungratefulness to Allah’s Favours)] [Soorah Al-Qasas: Ayah 76].

And as Allaah [The Most High] said about those who rejoiced in what they possessed of falsehood in opposition to that which the Messengers came with: [فَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَرِحُواْ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ -Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things)] [Soorah Ghaafir: Ayah 83] (4)

We ask Allaah to protect us from misguidance.

Manchester Ramadhaan and Eid: A Community Upon the Manhaj of the Salaf, Striving Hard

All Praise is to Allah, who blessed us today, with an excellent turnout at the Eid Prayer once again; and it is Allah that facilitates all means to good.

The Masjid would like to thank those who facilitated this Sunnah for “Whoever does not thanked the people will not thanked Allah” (authenticated by Shaykh Albani). May Allah bless and reward them all.

We are fortunate, by the fadl of Allah, to have such dedicated and hardworking brothers and sisters; who are always sacrificing themselves and their time to serve the community.

The good deeds done are written by Allah and he knows their number. But we hope to give an idea as to the lengths some of the volunteers go to.

During Ramadhaan, we had brothers clearing and cleaning the masjid. Families providing food and drink for those opening their fast and working to keep the masjid clear from smells and distraction. Further more during the Tarawee’ prayer (a busy time indeed) then a rotor of brothers took it in turns, to take care of the cars, of those taking part in the prayer.

Moving on to the Eid prayer setup; then some of our sisters took part in raising some funds to prepare custom goody bags to make the day special. Packing them at their houses completing the affair with one of our families completing the packing then delivering them to the masjid.

Everyone was able to enjoy the atmosphere this morning at the park. But even this setup required efforts. The night before brothers came to the masjid early. They cleaned up and prepared all the equipment needed for Eid prayer outside. Even in this instance many of the rolls we have laid out have been donated by a group of brothers, and the van used was also lent to us for Allahs sake.

Finally in the morning whilst many were still sleeping or relaxing; others set off early, to setup for anyone attending be prayer; some leaving or making arrangements for their families to come afterwards, others rushing home to collect their families in between.

Our aim here is not to count deed; for indeed the deeds done are numerous and Allah the most just is the one who rewards his slaves. However what we can do is appreciate such (invisible) deeds, and efforts made in the organisation of such an event.

And there is no doubt other Salafi Maraakiz around the country will have similar tales of sacrifice and effort- some of which we have read already from the likes of Al Baseerah, Salafi Publications, Markaz Muaadh and others. No doubt this is a sign of love for this blessed da’wa, and brings immense happiness to our hearts

We hope to see everyone tonight, in happiness and bliss, gathered with their brothers and sisters for Allah’s sake on this wonderful day.

Taqaballallahu minna wa minkum.
May Allaah accept from us and from you (Aameen).

Fitna of a Wicked Scholar and an Ignorant Worshipper

Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawri (rahimahullaah) said: I seek Allah’s Refuge from the fitna of the ignorant worshipper and the fitna of the wicked scholar, for indeed their fitna is the trial of everyone who is put to trial. [1]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: Indeed the people follow their scholars and righteous worshippers, so if the scholars are wicked and the worshippers are ignorant, then the calamity through them will be widespread and the fitna will (have a) great (effect) on individuals and the general masses.[2]

Haatim Al-Asam: I Gain The Upper Hand Over The One Who Argues With Me Through Three Affairs!

Haatim Al-Asam (rahimahullaah) said:

I have three traits by way of which I gain the upper hand over the one who argues with me! They (i.e. the people) said: “What are they?” He said: “I am happy when the one who argues with me is correct. I am sad when he is mistaken and I prevent myself from being disrespectful towards him.” This (statement of Haatim) reached Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal (rahimahullaah), so he said: ”Glorified be Allaah and free is He from all imperfections! What a judicious man he (Haatim) is!”

From The Causes of Showing Enmity Against Truth and Its People!

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

The reasons that prevent (people) from accepting the truth are too many and from them is being ignorant of it.  This reason is what prevails over the majority of souls; for indeed the one ignorant of something will show enmity to it and its people.”[Hidaayatul Hayaaraa Fee Ajwibatil Yahood Wan-Nasaaraa page: 18]
