Those Who Swear By Allaah – Their Strongest Oaths – That They Will Obey The Messenger, But Intended Something Else!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

They swear by Allah their strongest oaths, that if only you would order them, they would leave [their homes for fighting in Allah’s Cause]. Say: ‘’Swear you not; [this] obedience [of yours] is known [to be false]. Verily, Allah knows well what you do.’’ Say: ‘’Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he [Messenger Muhammad] is only responsible for the duty placed on him [i.e. to convey Allah’s Message] and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to convey [the message] in a clear way [i.e. to preach in a plain way].’’ [Surah an-Noor Aayaat 53-54]

Allaah [The Most High] informs us of the situation of those hypocrites who stayed behind and did not join the Messenger in Jihaad (Ref 1) – those in whose hearts there is a disease – that they swear by Allaah that if they are commanded in future to go out for Jihaad, they will do so; but Allaah rebutted them saying: [قُل لَّا تُقۡسِمُواْ‌ۖ -Swear you not]: Meaning: [Say to them O Muhammad], ‘’Neither are we in need of your oath nor your excuses, for indeed we have been informed about  your affair and this obedience of yours is known to be false. This sluggishness and laziness of yours is known to us, even if you do not give an excuse.  Therefore, your oath and excuse is nothing really; rather those in need of making an oath and an excuse are those whose affair is ambiguous, for maybe such excuse will benefit them and absolve them of blame. As for yourselves, then your excuses and oaths do not count; rather what is feared for you is Allaah’s punishment’’ and this is why Allaah said: [إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ – Verily, Allah knows well what you do]: Meaning: Allaah will recompense you fully in accordance with this state of yours. As for the Messenger, his duty is only to give you commands and prohibitions, and this is why Allaah said: [قُلۡ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ‌ۖ – Say: “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger]; [فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيۡڪُم مَّا حُمِّلۡتُمۡ‌ۖ – but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allah’s Message) and you for that placed on you]: Meaning: If you turn away from the message, then the Messenger has already conveyed it and you are held accountable. Your situation has manifested; your misguidance and deviation is clear, and you deserve punishment. [ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهۡتَدُواْ‌ۚ  – And if you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance]: Meaning: You will be guided to the straight path- in speech and deeds- and you have no other path to guidance except through obedience to Allaah and His Messenger. And without [obedience to Allaah and the Messenger], then it is impossible to be guided.

[وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَـٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ – The Messenger’s duty is only to convey (the message) in a clear way (i.e. to preach in a plain way)]: Meaning: He has clearly conveyed the message, therefore, neither is anyone to be in doubt nor in a state of ambiguity. The Messenger has clearly conveyed the message and Allaah is the only one who will call you to account and recompense you. The Messenger has no authority over reward or punishment after fulfilling his responsibility.

Be Not Like Those Who Say: “We have heard,” But They Hear Not!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

 Allaah [The Most High]:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلاَ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَسْمَعُونَ

وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ

O you who believe! Obey Allaah and His Messenger, and turn not away from him [i.e. Messenger Muhammad] while you are hearing. And be not like those who say: “We have heard,” but they hear not. [Surah al-Anfaal Aayaat 20-21]

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ – O you who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger]: Meaning: [Obey Allaah and His Messenger] by fulfilling what they have commanded and keeping away from what they have forbidden. [وَلاَ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَأَنتُمْ تَسْمَعُونَ – and turn not away from him (i.e. Messenger Muhammad) while you are hearing]: Meaning: Do not turn away from obedience to Allaah and obedience to His Messenger, whilst you are hearing what is been recited to you from the Book of Allaah [i.e. the Qur’aan, Allaah’s commands, admonitions and advices]- because turning away will place you in the most perilous situation. [وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ – And be not like those who say: ‘’We have heard,’’ but they hear not]: Meaning: Do not suffice with claims that are devoid of reality, for it is something displeasing to Allaah and His Messenger. Eemaan is not wishful thinking and merely adorning oneself with it [outwardly]; rather it is that which firmly settles in the hearts and is affirmed by one’s deeds.  [Source: (Tayseer al-Kareem ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam al-Mannaan). slightly paraphrased]

Ahlus Sunnah Hate Those Who Initiate or Innovate Into The Religion That Which Is Not From It – [By Imaam As-Saabooni (rahimahullaah)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] quoted Imaam As-Saabooni [rahimahullaah] who stated, “And they [i.e. Ahlul Hadeeth] hated Ahlul-Bid’ah – those who initiated into the religion what is not from it. They neither loved them nor keep company with them. They neither listened to their speech nor sit with them. They neither argued with them about the religion nor debated with them’’. Then Shaikh Rabee said: How is this [the case]? Is this [view introduced] from themselves or guidance from Allaah and His Messenger, and that which the Salafus Saaleh were upon? Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] warned against Ahlul Bidah and clarified for us that they are people of desires, and that they follow Mutashaabihaat [i.e. texts that are not entirely clear in what they indicate, so they are referred back to other texts to be explained] and they abandon the Muhkamaat [i.e. texts that are very clear]. Aa’isha [radiyallaahu-anhaa] said: The Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] recited this ayah:

It is He Who has sent down to you [Muhammad] the Book [this Qur’an]. In it are Verses that are (entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book [and those are the Verses of Al-Ahkaam (commandments, etc.), Al-Faraa’id (obligatory duties) and Al-Hudood (legal laws for the punishment of thieves, adulterers, etc.)]; and others are Mutashaabihaat (i.e. not entirely clear in what they indicate, so they are to be referred back to the Muhkamaat to be explained]. So, as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah (polytheism and trials, etc.), and seeking for its hidden meanings, but none knows its hidden meanings except Allaah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: ‘’We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear Verses) are from our Lord.” And none receive admonition except men of understanding.’’ [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 7]  [Then] she [i.e. Aa’isha] said: The Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’If you see those who follow thereof that is not entirely clear, then they are those whom Allah has named [as having deviation (from the truth)] so beware of them’’. [Bukhaari Number 4547]

Allaah clarified that they [i.e. ahlul bidah] have desires [i.e. evil desires] and deviation with them, and that they intend to misguide themselves and other people! They desire trials and intend to misguide the people, and that is why the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] mentioned them and described their condition to us. He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’And indeed there will appear a people out of my Ummah in whom desires will run through them just as rabies runs through a dog.’’ [Read here: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2019/08/there-will-appear-a-people-in-this-ummah-in-whom-desires-will-run-through-them-just-as-rabies-runs-through-a-dog/ ]

Ahlul Sunnah – no doubt – hate Ahlul bidah and Imaam [As Saabooni] mentioned a number of them [i.e. senior scholars of ahlul hadeeth] that they are all agreed upon hating [Ahlul bidah]. However, amongst them [i.e Ahlul bidah] there are du’aat [callers to their bidah]- they are neither to be sat with nor debated with, except in cases of necessity and for a Maslahah [i.e. a carefully assessed benefit identified by rightly guided scholars amongst the scholars]; [otherwise], it is not permissible to enter into debate with them. It is not permissible to enter into a specific debate with the rawaafid if you are weak [i.e. in knowledge and character], except if one is a man who is firmly grounded in knowledge and religion, [very proficient in] establishing evidences, clever and a possessor of [that force and strength that enables him to easily excel in debate with the clear proofs without being affected by doubts]; so if he sees a benefit in debating them, he debates them. [Allaah (The Most High) said]: [وَجَادِلْهُم بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ  – and argue with them in a way that is better]. This is the legislated debate. Allaah did not close the door of debate completely, so if we have a way of establishing the proofs and to guide the people to good, we follow it. The one who is debated with may not benefit but others may benefit.

As for the weak one, then no [i.e. he does not engage in debate]. Even amongst the scholars there is one who is weak and one who is led to be mistaken by Shub’hah [i.e. a statement or affair that resembles the truth but is falsehood in reality]. He may be a scholar but his character is weak, so he becomes weak in the presence of Ahlul bidah, even if they are younger than him and lesser in knowledge! Indeed, it has happened to many of those who ascribe to the Sunnah and Hadeeth [ i.e. fell into some deviation or error] due to their weakness and opposition to the methodology of the Salaf. For example: Al Bayhaqqi was from the seniors of Ahlul hadeeth and their scholars, and was deceived by some of the Ashaa’irah such as Ibn Fawrak and his ilk, so he fell into Ash’ariyyah! How many among the youth- in this era – have been ruined at the hands of Ahlul bidah?! How many youth, middle age men and graduates from universities have been deceived by Ahlul bidah, and thus they fall into their arms?! They are deceived by the parties [of illegal partisanship] and thus fall into their arms! Why is this? Because they did not act upon the statement of the Messenger: “If you see those who follow thereof that is not entirely clear, then they are those whom Allah has named [as having deviation (from the truth)] so beware of them”. The strong one calls Ahlul bidah; he calls the Christians. There has to be dawah in the path of Allaah and there has to be strong scholars who disseminate the religion of Allaah; and when necessary, they debate so that the proofs are established and benefit one who is to benefit. [Source: An Excerpt from ‘Sharh Aqeedah As-Salaf Ashaab Al-Hadeeth’ pages 301-304′. slightly paraphrased]

Hadeeth: [Verily, Allaah Will Give Respite to The Oppressor Until When He Seizes him]- With Short Commentary By Shaikh Zayd [rahimahullaah]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Moosaa [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘Verily, Allaah will give respite to the oppressor until when He seizes him and he cannot escape’”. Then he [i.e. the Messenger] recited the Aayah: [وَكَذَٲلِكَ أَخۡذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَآ أَخَذَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَهِىَ ظَـٰلِمَةٌ‌ۚ إِنَّ أَخۡذَهُ ۥۤ أَلِيمٌ۬ شَدِيدٌ – Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, and severe]. [Surah Hud. Aayah 102]

Brief Reminder From This Hadeeth By Shaikh Zayd Bin Haadi [rahimahullaah]

There is a warning against oppression in this lofty hadeeth- oppression against oneself through different levels and types of sins. The one whom Allaah has given wealth, good health, safety and stability whilst he persists upon sin, then this is Allaah plan in stages against this sinner because he deserves it- وَلَا يَظۡلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدً۬ا – And your Lord treats no one with injustice. (Surah Al-Kahf. Aayah 49]

There’s a warning – in this hadeeth – against  oppressing others, because the one who oppresses others is called an oppressor and the one who oppresses himself through sins is called an oppressor. Therefore, [both] the one who oppresses himself and the one who oppresses others are [exposed] to great danger in this life, in the grave and in the afterlife. If Allaah gives him respite and does not hasten punishment against him, then indeed Allaah reserves for him the punishment he deserves due to the statement of Allaah: [وَكَذَٲلِكَ أَخۡذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَآ أَخَذَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَهِىَ ظَـٰلِمَةٌ‌ۚ إِنَّ أَخۡذَهُ ۥۤ أَلِيمٌ۬ شَدِيدٌ – Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the (population of) towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, and severe]. This is how the hadeeth is in agreement with the noble Aayah – that if Allaah gives respite to an oppressor, then it is not that Allaah has neglected his affair; and if Allaah delays punishment against him in the worldly life, then indeed Allaah multiplies it for him in the hereafter, so that he is recompensed based on what he did and the evil deeds he committed. Allaah is a possessor of [perfect] Wisdom, because He recompenses a doer based on his deed- good recompense for good deeds and evil recompense for evil deeds. [At-taleeqaatul Maleehah Alaa Silsilah Al-Ahaadeeth As-Saheehah. Hadeeth Regarding Two Traits of Al-Jaahiliyyah- [Wailing For The Dead And Reviling Lineages] – With Short Commentary By Shaikh Zayd [rahimahullaah]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “The Prophet [sallal laahu -alayhi wasallam] said, ‘There are two matters of Al-Jaahiliyyah [i.e. traits of pre-Islamic ignorance] and the people will never abandon them: wailing for the dead and reviling people’s lineages”.

In this hadeeth, there is a clear warning against falling into these two affairs, because they are from the deeds of Al-Jaahiliyyah [pre-Islamic ignorance]. The deeds of Al-Jaahiliyyah in most cases are evil because they are based on ignorance, a result of ignorance and emanate from ignorance. The best of all deeds are those that are from the Islamic legislation. Therefore, these two traits are from the deeds of the people Al-Jaahiliyyah, but it is not committed by all the people, rather some people will not leave them until the day of Judgement.

The first trait is wailing for the dead by raising one’s voice, an increased mention of [the dead person’s virtues], boasting, tearing one’s clothing and slapping one’s cheeks. All these are deeds of Al-Jaahiliyyah.

The second trait is reviling lineages by boasting about one’s lineage and reviling other people’s lineages, and this does not occur except due to pride and looking down on others. It is not from the traits of the people of Eemaan; rather humility is the trait of the people of Eemaan- being easy going, refraining from self-praise, [refraining] from reviling people’s lineages and [refraining from] boasting about one’s lineage. Indeed, Allaah said: [إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ – Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has more Taqwa]. [Sural Al-Hujuraat. Aayah 13]

[2] Beliefs and Deeds of Those Who Scream and Wail; Slash, Whip and Hit Themselves On The Day of Aa’shooraa: [Origins of The Raafidah]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Question to Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah]: Is it correct that the first to innovate the Madhab of the Raafidah was Abdullaah Ibn Saba the Yahoodee?  Response: Yes, without a doubt. The Raafidah or the Shiites in general are of two types: The Shiites from the fire worshipers and the Shiites from the Yahood….they hide behind Islaam in order to corrupt it. The Yahood plotted through Abdullaah Ibn Sabah and the first affair he began with was to ignite fitnah against Uthmaan [radiyallaahu-anhu]. Listen to here: https://safeshare.tv/x/krhxTksllR

Some of the Main Heretics Behind the [Forbidden and Exaggerated] Allegiance to the [Family of Ali (radiyallaahu-anhu)] – By Shaikh Muqbil [rahimahullaah]

Al-Mu’ghee’rah Bin Sa’eed- What do the scholars say about this heretic?

Al-Haafidz Adh-Dhahabi [rahimahullaah] stated in ‘Al-Meezaan’ and Al-Haafidz Ibn Hajr [rahimahullaah] stated in ‘Lisaan Al-Meezaan’ (6/75): [He is] Al-Mughee’rah Bin Saeed Al-Bajalee Al Koofee- the Raafidi, the liar.

Ibn Adee [rahimahullaah] said: ‘There was none in Kufa more cursed than Al-Mughee’rah Bin Saeed due to the falsehood he narrated about Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu].  He was always telling lies about the family of the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] and he had no chain of narration for what he narrated.’ Al A’mash [rahimahullaah] asked the heretic Al-Mugheerah Bin Saeed, ‘’Did Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] use to give life to the dead?’’  He replied, “By the One in whose hand my soul is, had Ali wished, he could have brought Aad and Thamud back to life.’’

The End of Al-Mughee’rah the Raafidi – the Liar

AbuBakr Bin Ayyaash [rahimahullaah] said: I saw Khaalid Bin Abdillaah Al Qasree [an Umayyad governor in Iraq] when he approached Al-Mughee’rah Bin Saeed and his followers; then he [Khaalid] killed a man amongst them and said to Mughee’rah, ‘’Bring him back to life’’, because Mugheerah used to hold that he can give life to the dead.  So, Al-Mugheerah said, ‘’I swear by Allaah! I cannot give life to the dead.’’  Khaalid ordered that grass be brought to kindle a fire; then he said to Al-Mugheerah, ‘’Enter it’’, but he refused.  Then a man amongst Al-Mugheerah’s companions rushed into the [fire] and burnt completely. So khaalid said to Al-Mugheerah, ‘’Wallaahi, he is worthier of leadership than you”. Thereafter, he [khaalid] killed Al-Mugheerah and his companions.

Ishaaq Bin Muhammad An-Nakha-ee Al-Ahmar- What do the scholars and Imaams of the Sunnah say about him?

Haafidh Ad-Dha’habee [rahimahullaah] stated in ‘Al-Meezaan’ and Ibn Hajr [rahimahullaah] stated in ‘Lisaanul Meezaan’ (1/370): Ishaaq Bin Muhammad An-Nakha’ee Al-Ahmar was a liar and a deviant amongst the Ghulaat (extremists).

Al-Khateeb [rahimahullaah] said: I heard Abdul Waahid Bin Ali Al-Asadee [rahimahullaah] saying: Ishaaq bin Muhammad An-Nakha’ee was upon a filthy school of thought, and he said that Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] is Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic].

Al-Hasan Bin Yahyaa An-Nawbakh’tee (1) [rahimahullaah] stated in his book titled ‘Ar-Radd Alal Ghulaat’ [A refutation against the extremists]: Ishaaq Bin Muhammad Al-Ahmar claimed that Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] is Allaah [Glorified be Allaah and free is He from all imperfections] and that Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] manifested himself in Al-Hasan, and then in Al-Husain [radiyallaahu-anhumaa]; and that Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] was the one who sent Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] as a Messenger.

These are some of the fairy tales [or superstitions] and lies of the Raafidah and [none] can protect you from these falsehoods except Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections]. Therefore, you should hold fast to the Book [of Allaah] and the [authentic] Sunnah of His Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], and Allaah guides whomsoever He pleases to the straight path.

And do not think that these fairy tales [or superstitions] have ceased and decreased, [rather] due to these fairy tales, the Raafidah of Iran are still waiting for the emergence of Muhammad Bin Al-Hasan Al-Askari. (2)

(1) Al-Hasan Bin Yahyaa An-Nawbakh-tee (rahimahullaah) should not be confused with Hasan ibn Musa An-Nawbakhtee who was a Shia writer. (2) They claim that this Hasan Al-Askari is hiding in a tunnel waiting to emerge.  We’ll see the falsity of this claim Inshaa-Allaah.

The Saba’iyyoon hiding Themselves in Islaam

The Saba’iyyoon are the companions of Abdullaah Bin Saba, who said to Ali, “You are; you are”; meaning, “You are the deity”. Haafidh Adh-Dhahabi [rahimahullaah] said: Abdullaah bin Saba was from the extremists amongst the heretics- misguided and misguiding others.   Ibn Asaakir [rahimahullaah] said: He [Abdullaah Bin Saba] was originally from Yemen; a Yahoodi who manifested Islaam [i.e. showed that he was a Muslim], travelled around the Muslim lands to turn them away from obedience to their leaders and to bring about evil between them, and he entered into Damascus for that reason.

Abu Ya’laa [rahimahullaah] reported in his Musnad from Al-Jalaas who said, ‘’I heard Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] saying to Abdullaah Bin Saba, ‘’Indeed, there will be thirty liars at the approach of the hour”, and you are one of them. Abdullaah bin Saba had followers and they were called the Saba’iyyoon.  They believe that Godhead is with Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu].  And indeed Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] burnt them with fire during his Khilaafah. And do not think that the followers of Abdullaah Bin Saba have perished, [rather] there is that leader of misguidance -khumeini, who displays jealousy for Islaam, yet he destroys its pillars. And some of the ignorant ones amongst the Ikhwan al- Muslimoon were deceived by Khumeini, and they used to mention him on the pulpits; but when the Book titled: ‘Jaa’a Dawrul Majoos’ came out, they were shaken. They keep quiet and did not praise Khumeini [anymore]. Perhaps the Muslims will take a lesson from the story of Abdullaah Bin Saba and be warned against the machinations [or secret plots] and filth of the Raafidah, because their call is based on deception. [An Excerpt from Ilhaadul Khumeini Fee Ardil Haramayn. Pages 125-140.slightly paraphrased]

Similarities Between Raafidah, Deviated Yahood and Nasaaraa

Shaikh Rabee [hafidhahullaah] stated:

1: Yahood said that leadership is not appropriate except for a man from the family of Dawood. The raafidah say that leadership is not appropriate except for a man from the children of Ali Bin Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu anhu]. 2: Yahood said that there is no jihaad until the dajjaal appears…. The raafidah say that there is no jihaad until the mehdi appears. .. 3: The yahood delay the maghrib prayer until the stars appear, likewise the raafidah delay it. 4: The yahood distort the (verses and meaning of the) torah and the raafidah distort the (verses and meanings of the) Qur’aan. 5: The Yahood hate Jibreal (alayhis salaam ) and they say: “He is our enemy amongst the Angels.” Likewise a group amongst the raafidah say that Jibreal (alayhis salaam ) made a mistake by giving the revelation to Muhammad (sallal.laahu.alayhi wasallam ); rather he was sent to Ali. 6: The yahood used to hate the sahaabah and likewise the raafidah hate the sahaabah.

Some similarities between the raafidah and the nasaaraa

1: The nasaaraa innovated many religious holydays. Likewise, the raafidah (innovated the religious holidays) for the days when Umar and uthmaan were murdered. 2: The nasaaraa make pictures of Eesaa and Maryam (alayhimas salaam) and place them in their churches. They exalt them and prostrate to them. Likewise, the raafidah make pictures of their imaams–they exalt them; rather they make sujood to them and to their graves… [An Excerpt from ‘Man Hum Irhaabiyyoon, Ahumus Safiyyoon Aw Rawaafid: pages 20 onwards. This is one of the manifestly evil and clearly forbidden affairs, therefore it not permissible to travel to the lands in which polytheism and evil deeds are manifested, and [in which] forbidden affairs are made lawful, except due to a need and necessity, and [except] for one who manifests his religion, speaks the truth openly and [propagates] Islamic Monotheism. As for travelling in disobedience to [Allaah], abandonment of the obligatory duties and being unable to manifest one’s religion, then none amongst the people of knowledge have spoken about the permissibility of this. It [i.e. travelling in disobedience] is a common affliction and the safeguarded one is the one whom Allaah keeps safe. [Al-Mindhaar Fee Bayaani katheer Minal Akh-taa Ash-Shaa’i’ah page: 77: Shaikh Saaleh Aala Shaikh (hafidhahullaah]

Speaking Against The Groups of Bidah Is Tantamount To Time-Wasting!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Question: O Shaikh! A strange  (type) of illegal partisanship has appeared in these times in such a manner that when the groups of illegal partisanship are warned against some of the youth say, “Do not speak regarding these subject matters; speaking regarding these (affairs) is tantamount to  time wasting;” so do you advise these (youth)?

Answer: My advice to them is what I said previously….If these groups have Bidah, then indeed the ruling -by way of consensus (of the Salaf) -is that it is obligatory to warn against them and (this warning is regarded to be a type of) Jihaad (striving in the path of Allaah). The groups carry the bidah of the Soofiyyah (i.e. the soofees), the bidah of Rafd (i.e. the beliefs, views of the Raafidah), the bidah of khurooj (i.e. the belief in rebellion against Muslim rulers), the bidah of irjaa (i.e. the beliefs of the Murji’ah) and some (other types) of bidah which the Salaf waged a war against and warned against; therefore it is obligated on us to give advice and warn against them. This is the methodology of the Salaf. If the groups are of this type (i.e. upon religious innovations), then it is obligatory to warm against them (and) it is not permissible for us to keep quiet. That is because if keep quiet (and refrain from warning against) falsehood, it will gain group and spread

The Perils of False Representation: [An Admonition to All Manipulative Instigators Who Discretely And Secretly Betray Trust, Conceal Facts, Dupe Unsuspecting Admirers, Threaten Speakers of Truth And Hide Their Affair From Those Who Are Able to Reprimand Them]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Imaam [rahimahullaah] stated that one should beware of kadhib [lying], for indeed it corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information based on what it should be in reality. It corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information and his ability to teach the people. The liar portrays what is non-existent as something present and what is present as something non-existent. He portrays truth as something false and falsehood as something true; he portrays good as evil and evil as good, so this corrupts his conception and knowledge, which then becomes a punishment upon him. Then he portrays what is not true to the one deceived by him – the one who is inclined towards him- so he corrupts his conception and knowledge. The soul of the liar turns away from the existing reality -inclined towards what is non-existent and gives preference to falsehood.

And when his conception and knowledge is corrupted, which is the basis of every wilful chosen deed, his deeds become corrupt and marked by lies, so those deeds would emanate from him just as lies emanate from the tongue- he neither benefits from his tongue nor his deeds. This is why lying is the basis [or foundation] of immorality, just as the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Indeed lies lead to immorality [or wickedness] and indeed immorality [or wickedness] leads to the fire. [Bukhaari 2606/2607]

Firstly lies emerges from the heart and then on the tongue, so it corrupts it; then it transfers to the limbs and corrupts its actions, just as it corrupts the statements of the tongue. Therefore, lying prevails over his statements, deeds and state of affairs; corruption becomes deeply rooted in him and its disease leads to destruction if Allaah does not grant him cure him with the medication of truthfulness, which uproots its (i.e. lying) from its original source.

This is why the basis [or foundation] of all the deeds of the hearts is based on truthfulness; and the basis of their opposites – such as showing off, self-amazement, pride, being glad [with ungratefulness to Allaah’s Favours], conceitedness, boastfulness, insolence, weakness, laziness, cowardice,  disgrace and other than them- is lies. The origin of every righteous deed- whether carried out in private or public- is based on truthfulness. And the origin of every corrupt deed – whether carried out in private or public- is lies.

Allaah punishes the liar by preventing him from those affairs that will bring him well-being and benefit, and He rewards the truthful one by granting him the ability to attain the beneficial affairs related to the worldly life and afterlife. There is nothing similar to truthfulness with regards to the manner in which it bring about the affairs of wellbeing in this life and the next, and there is nothing similar to lying with regards to the manner in which it corrupts and harms one’s worldly affairs and the afterlife. [Allaah (The Most High) said]: [ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ – O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds) [9:119] [هَٰذَا يَوْمُ يَنْفَعُ الصَّادِقِينَ صِدْقُهُمْ ۚ- This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth. [5:119] [ فَإِذَا عَزَمَ الْأَمْرُ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللَّهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ – And when the matter (preparation for Jihad) is resolved on, then if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them. [47:21]

And those who made excuses from the Bedouins came (to you, O Prophet) asking your permission to exempt them (from the battle), and those who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat at home (without asking the permission for it); a painful torment will seize those of them who disbelieve. [9:90]

Slave of The Deenaar And Dirham

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Narrated Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu]: The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “let the slave of the Deenaar and Dirham, and Qateefah and khameesah [i.e. money and luxurious clothes] perish, for he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased”. [Bukhaari. Number 2886]

Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] commented on this hadeeth as follows:

This hadeeth is about the one who only seeks after the Dunyah [worldly possessions] and does not desire the Hereafter; rather his only desire is Dunyah. He does not give concern to his religion, rather his only concern is the Dunyah; so if he is given something from the Dunyah he becomes pleased with Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and the people; but if he is not given from it, he becomes displeased with Allaah and the people.

[تعس ]- meaning ‘destroyed’.  [التعس] means ‘destruction’ and unsuccessful. [Allaah (The Most High) said]: [وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَتَعۡسً۬ا لَّهُمۡ – But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah), for them is destruction. (47:8)]

Why is he called a slave [of the Deenaar and dirham]? That is because he attaches his heart to it [i.e. wealth], so the worldly life becomes as if it is his lord. He attaches his heart to it and becomes enslaved by it. The poet says:

*I obeyed my desires and thus they enslaved me

*And had I indeed been satisfied [with what I have] I would have been free

Therefore, this man’s concern is [only] the Dunyah- if given from it he becomes pleased, praises and extols; but if not given, indeed he is displeased and angry, just as Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections] stated about the hypocrites:

وَمِنۡہُم مَّن يَلۡمِزُكَ فِى ٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِ فَإِنۡ أُعۡطُواْ مِنۡہَا رَضُواْ وَإِن لَّمۡ يُعۡطَوۡاْ مِنۡہَآ إِذَا هُمۡ يَسۡخَطُونَ

And of them are some who accuse you (O Muhammad) in the matter of (the distribution of) the alms. If they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if they are not given thereof, behold! They are enraged! [9:58]

Their pleasure and displeasure is attached to wealth. The one who (becomes) pleased and displeased (solely) for the sake of wealth is a hypocrite, a slave of the Deenaar and the Dirham. Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ رَضُواْ مَآ ءَاتَٮٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ۥ وَقَالُواْ حَسۡبُنَا ٱللَّهُ سَيُؤۡتِينَا ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَرَسُولُهُ ۥۤ إِنَّآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ رَٲغِبُونَ – Would that they were contented with what Allah and His Messenger () gave them and had said: “Allah is Sufficient for us. Allah will give us of His Bounty, and (also) His Messenger (from alms, etc.). We implore Allah (to enrich us)]. [9:59]

This (hadeeth) conveys a rebuke against covetousness and that a person should not solely be pleased or displeased due to the Dunyah, rather his anger and pleasure should be for the sake of his religion and for the sake of Allaah. As for the Dunyah, if he is given something of it he takes it; but if not given anything from it, then indeed he should say: “Allaah suffices me and He will give me give from His bounty”.

When the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] used to distribute wealth, he used to give those whose Eemaan was weak and the hypocrites – gave them more; but he did not give anything to the best of the Sahaabah; rather he entrusted them to their religion, for indeed due to their [strong] Eemaan they would not become angry if not given. As for the people of weak Eemaan, the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] feared that they will be enraged, so he gave them and brought their hearts closer [the religion].

So this [hadeeth also conveys the affair of] piety and that it is obligated on a person not to attach his heart to the Dunyah [i.e. in the blameworthy manner mentioned in this hadeeth] – solely getting angry and pleased due to it; rather he should attach his heart to Allaah. As for the Dunyah, if he is given something lawful from it- which he did not ask for- then indeed he takes it and utilises it as a means of obedience to Allaah; but if he is not given anything, then indeed his religion suffices him and he places his trust and reliance in Allaah. This is the difference between the people of the Dunyah [i.e. those who solely strive for it at the expense of the Aakhirah] and the people of the Deen [i.e. those who seek after lawful provision in the worldly life and make the afterlife their main goal].
