Muslim Woman busy cooking food in Ramadhaan—Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan
Written by Salafi Dawah Manchester on . Posted in Family & Women, Scholars of Islam, Worship - 'Ibaadah'.
A sister says that a Muslim woman spends most of her time in cooking and being busy in preparing various types of foods during the month of Ramadhaan. And due to this she misses the benefits of the month of Ramadhaan; so what advice can the Shaikh give and is she rewarded for preparing food?
Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan answered: Yes she will be rewarded for this because she prepares food for those observing the fast and this is an act of co-operating upon righteousness and piety. She will be rewarded in doing this and cooking does not prevent her from uttering Tasbeeh [سبحان الله]; Tahleel [لا إله إلا الله]; Takbeer [الله أكبر] and reciting what she has memorized of the Qur’aan. Cooking does not prevent her from remembrance of Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic)

Imaam Fudayl Ibn Iyaad (rahimahullaah) made du’aa for his son saying:
”O Allaah! I have made strenuous efforts to nurture my son upon (goodness and piety), but I have not been able to nurture him, so nurture him for me.”
Allaah answered Fudayl’s supplication because his son changed and became one of the most righteous people during his era.

When Ayyoub As-Sakhtiyaani (rahimahullaah) used to congratulate a man for the birth of a child, he would say:
جَعَلَهُ اللهُ مُبَارَكًا عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
May Allaah make him a blessing upon you and upon the Ummah of Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).

Our children are an Amaanah; so help us establish a school

Al-Allaamah Abdullaah Bin Muhammad Bin Humaid (rahimahullaah) said:
Your children are a trust and when you neglect them, then indeed you have betrayed them. It is obligatory upon every one of us to fear Allaah with regards to the (affair) of his children and those under his care. The days go past and the end of a (person’s) life is close, and a person does not know when his life span will suddenly come to (an end). He must strive to teach his children beneficial knowledge and that he gives them training upon goodness, and nurtures them upon obedience to (Allaah and His Messenger). A Great Virtue in Ut’bah’s Advice to his children’s teacher; so help us establish a school

Ut’bah Bin Abee Sufyaan said to his children’s teacher:
‘’Indeed, I have come to you to teach my children. Firstly, rectify yourself and adhere to your religion because their eyes are fixed on you. They will not see you beautifying or doing something, except that they will blindly follow you in (that). Teach them the best of the narrations; meaning: The best and most beneficial, and the most beneficial science. Keep them away from flirting with women and composing love poems about them; rather teach them the Hadeeth and the Qur’aan, and (those) poetry and etiquettes of the Arabs that develop bravery in the souls, heroism, nobility and adherence to good customs.
