Reproved and Forsaken-Who deserves this?

Allaah (The Most High) said:

لَّا تَجْعَلْ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَتَقْعُدَ مَذْمُومًا مَّخْذُولًا

Set not up with Allah any other ilah (god), (O man)! , or you will sit down reproved, forsaken (in the hell fire)” [Soorah Al-Israa: Ayah:22]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

Reproved and not praised by anyone, forsaken and having no helper. [1] That is because some people are subdued but they are praised, such as the one subdued based on falsehood. [2] And he may be reproved and helped, such as the one who is subdued and overpowered based on falsehood. [3] And it may be that he is praised and helped, such as the one who is steadfast and judges with justice.

[4] As for the one who associates a partner with [Allaah in worship], he is the degraded one amongst the four categories- neither is he praised nor helped. [Badaa-I At-Tafseer Al-Jaami Limaa Fassarahu Al-Imaam Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah: Page: 136: vol: 2]


 

Allaah (The Most High) is Just & Only Removes Blessings if… ibn Al Qayyim

Allaah (The Most High) said:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ

Verily! Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change what is in themselves.”[Ar-Radd: Ayah: 11]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

The wording of this (ayah) shows that He (Allaah) does not (remove) His blessings which He bestowed upon His slaves until they (move away from) obedience to Him and disobey Him.

What is the ruling on praying in a masjid if there is a grave in it, or in its courtyard, or in front of its Qibla……..?

Answer:

If there is a grave in the masjid, then prayer in it is incorrect, regardless whether it is behind, in front, on the right or on the left of the performers of the prayer, due to the statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): ”Indeed, those before you [i.e. Jews and Christians] used to take the graves of their Prophets and righteous people as Masaajid, so do not take graves as Masaajid,  for indeed I forbid you from that.” [reported by Imaam Muslim]

And that is because praying at the graveside is a means from the means towards shirk and exaggerating (the status) of the inhabitants of the graves.  Therefore, it is obligatory to forbid that, acting in accordance with the (two) mentioned narrations and that which has been transmitted (in other narrations) of the same meaning, and (also) preventing the means leading to shirk. Correcting the statement “We Correct the People of Innovation but don’t Disparage Them”- Shaykh Bin Baaz & Others

Many people who wish to blur the lines between the people of sunnah and people of bid’ah (innovation and misguidance) make the statement “We should correct the people of innovation and desires only. We shouldn’t be too harsh, revile, boycott or criticism them.”

They intend by this, that the person of Sunnah lowers his guard against innovation, making them susceptible to absorbing doubts and innovation and corrupting his religion. Below are a few statements from the scholars addressing this doubt.

Shaykh Ibn Baz (rahimahullaah):

 “Indeed, criticism from the scholars and disparagement of him whose disparagement is obligatory is from the angle of sincere advice to the Ummah, and warning from his innovation or his deviation is a designated matter, just as the scholars of Islaam have done previously and continue to do so…”

Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) was asked regarding the errors of Ahl al-Bid’ah, “We correct but do not disparage”, so he replied,

 “This is an error, rather we disparage the one who is stubborn against the truth.” And he said, “When the opposition is in the issues of belief, then it is obligatory for it to be corrected, and whatever is in opposition to the way of the Salaf, then it is obligatory to show rejection against it and to warn against the one who traverses upon that which opposes the way of the Salaf in this field.”

Shaykh al-Fawzan (hafidhahullaah) was asked about the principle, “We correct but do not disparage”, he responded,

“This principle has no basis, I say this principle has no foundation, it is binding to disparage the people of falsehood.”

And he was asked about the principle, “It is permissible to declare as erroneous but is unlawful to revile.”

So he responded,

 “This is just like (the principle) “we correct but do not disparage, it is the very same!”

Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) was asked about the principle, “We correct but do not disparage”, he responded,

“This principle is not from the principles of the Rabbaani Scholars, those whose knowledge is relied upon. Rather, the principles of the Scholars knowledgeable of the purified legislation of Allah, both previously and in what continues is correction of that which is deserving of correction and appraisal of the one who is deserving of appraisal and disparagement of the one is deserving of disparagement in lit of the principles connected to this serious topic. This is what Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah, the Righteous Salaf and their followers traverse upon until the Day of Judgement, and the books of al-Jarh wat-Ta’deel are not remote for (our) minds. Further, this principle contains deception of those whose knowledge of the legislation and its avenues is scant… And this is an error and the person in question is either ignorant, so it is obligatory to seek knowledge truthfully or he is a deceiver and one who is misguided the people, so Allaah is sufficient (over him) and we ask Allaah to guide him and return him to the truth with a beautiful return, aameen.”

Shaykh Fawzaan: What is the meaning of the statement of Imaam Malik rahimahullah?

 

Shaykh Fawzaan was asked:

 

Question:

Is the statement of Imam Maalik rahimahullah: “Everyone’s statement can be taken or rejected except for the companion of this grave” Is this in the matters of Islamic Jurisprudence only and not in matters of Creed ?

 

Answer:

There is no (legitimate) differing in the matters of Creed (Aqeedah). There is no scope in (choosing to) take or reject (Issues of Aqeedah) because they are affairs founded upon the texts (of the Book and Sunnah) rather this (statement) is only (applicable) in the issues of jurisprudence. The speech of everyone in agreement with the evidences is taken and that which opposes the evidences is rejected. This is what Imaam Maalik (rahimahullah) intended.

Question:

What is meaning of the statement of Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah rahimahullah “Whoever opposes the ijmaa (consensus of the scholars) then indeed he has disbelieved”?

Answer:

Yes! Allah said this:

{And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believer’s way, We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell – What an evil destination!}        Surah An-Nisa’ Verse 115

And this is an evidence upon the one who opposes the ijmaa, that indeed he has disbelieved.

Shaykh Fawzaan: Whoever worships Allah with…..

Shaykh Fawzaan was asked:

 

Question:

What is the ruling on those who say: We only worship Allah with love for him and we do not fear his punishment and we do not desire his reward?

 

This is a statement of the soofiyah; it is an error and refuge is sought with Allah. This is in opposition to the methodology of (all of) the Prophets (alayhimus Salaatu was Salaam).

 

Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call upon Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. [Surah Al-Anbiya’ Verse 90]

 

Those whom they call upon [like Isa (Jesus) – son of Maryam (Mary), Uzair (Ezra), angel] desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord (Allah), as to which of them should be the nearest; and they [Isa (Jesus), Uzair (Ezra), angels and others] hope for His Mercy and fear His torment. Indeed the torment of your Lord is (something) to be afraid of. [Surah Al-Isra Verse 57]

 

Therefore, whoever worships Allah with fear only then he is a Khaarij; whoever worships Allah with hope only then he is from the murji’ah and whoever worships Allah with love only then he is a Soofi.

And (finally) whoever worships Allah with Love, Hope and Fear then he is a believer upon Tawheed.

Muslim Greeting when Ramadhan Approaches – Shaykh Bin Baaz

Shaykh Bin Baz rahimahullah was asked:

Question:

 Are there any specific legislated affairs with which the Muslim greets Ramadhaan?

Answer:

The Month of Ramadhaan is the best of the months of the year, because Allah-Subhaanahu- has specified it by making fasting obligatory in it, and by making it the fourth pillar from the pillars of Islam. He also legislated for the Muslim that he prays the nights of Ramadhaan, as the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

“Islaam is built upon five, The testification that none has the right to be worshipped in truth except Allah and that Muhammad is his Messenger, the establishment of the prayer, the giving of obligatory charity, fasting the month of Ramadhaan and performance of Hajj.” 1

And he (Sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said

“Whoever (establishes the month of Ramadaan –by fasting and performing all types of righteous action) with the belief (that it is legislated by Allaah), and hoping for reward, He (Allah) will forgive him for his previous sins.”2

I do not know of any prescribed thing for the receiving of Ramadhaan except that the Muslim receives it with happiness, being delighted and rejoicing, (and) that he thanks Allah for the coming of Ramadhaan and that He has given him success by making him from those who are alive and those who compete in righteous actions.

For indeed the coming of Ramadhaan is a tremendous blessing from Allah, (and) because of this the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam) use to give his companions the glad tidings of the upcoming Ramadhaan and clarified to them its virtues, and that which Allah has prepared a great reward for those who fast and stand (in voluntary prayer at night). Allah has legislated for the Muslim the greeting of this month with sincere repentance and that in preparation for his fasting and standing, he should have a sound intention and a genuine firm resolve (for fasting, praying and performing all types of righteous actions).

O’ Shaykh, we have preachers here in Algeria who recommended Alee Hasan Abdul-Hameed al-Halabee.

 

Shaykh Abdullah al-Ghudayaan:

 

“By Allah, I do not know. No, you should leave this Abdul-Hameed because he is the leader the madhab of al-Mur’jiaa in the Kingdom.”
