Questioner:
O’ Shaykh, we have preachers here in Algeria who recommended Alee Hasan Abdul-Hameed al-Halabee.
Shaykh Abdullah al-Ghudayaan:
“By Allah, I do not know. No, you should leave this Abdul-Hameed because he is the leader the madhab of al-Mur’jiaa in the Kingdom.”
Questioner:
Is has been said O’ Shaykh that you have spoken about the matter of Irjaa and we have heard that the Permanent Committee have retrieved their criticism of the book by al-Halabee and ash-Shuk’ree. And it is said that al-Halabee come to visit the Committee and pointed the mistakes in their criticism. So is this true?”
Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan:
“These are all lies. The Committee did not retrieve anything and by the permission of Allah, the Committee will never retreat from clarifying the truth and falsehood. Nobody came to visit the Committee. The Committee doesn’t ever retreat from the truth. It is he who should retreat from the falsehood and repent to Allah.”
Narrated Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu): The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”Whoever established prayer on the night of Qadr with Eemaan and hoping for a reward from Allaah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”[Saheeh al-Bukhaari Vol 3: hadeeth Number: 1901]
Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said: Having Eemaan that it (i.e. Ramadaan) was legislated by Allaah and seeking reward, as opposed to the one who (fasted) out of blind following. And this forgiveness is restricted with the abandonment of the major sins. (i.e. a person receives this forgiveness when he abandons the major sins). Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:
Indeed it has been stated: ”Ninety-nine years with an oppressive ruler is better than a single night without a ruler.”
[Al-Fataawaa: 14/268]
This is among the innovations that has no basis. We have been commanded to follow the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), (so) follow and do not innovate. ”Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow.” [Ahzaab: ayah: 21]. We neither know of the Messenger touching the kabah’s cloth nor his companions, and had it been a good thing, they would have preceded us in it. Therefore, touching the kabah’s cloth or the two walls of the Messenger’s compartment or the netting on it, then all of this is an innovation that has no basis in the Islamic legislation. Al-Markaz As-Salafi
Saudi King Faysal Bin Abdul Azeez (rahimahullaah) said:
”Our religion Islaam is the correct Religion, which falsehood cannot come to from before it or behind it. And we refute the one who claims that there is neither social organization nor economics and cultivation within it.”
He (rahimahullaah) also said:
”We are callers to the word of Allaah (i.e. none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah), and we are callers so that the Religion of Allaah becomes dominant over everything else. And we are not harmed by those who fabricate lies against us with that which we do not intend. Our orientation is clear.”
He (rahimahullaah) also said:
”If we wish to be nurtured upon goodness in everything, in the religious and worldly affairs; then it is obligatory upon us to hold unto this Aqeedah (of the salaf), and that we follow that which Allaah revealed through the tongue of His Messenger (i.e. the Qur’aan) and to that which His Messenger commanded. And with this, we are guaranteed a good life for ourselves, nobility and protection, and honour only comes from Allaah. Allaah said: ”Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) in this world’s life and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth, (i.e. Day of Resurrection).” [Soorah Ghaafir Ayah: 51]. And Allaah (The Most High) said: ”and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).” [Soorah Rum: Ayah:47]
However, the most important affair in this is that we (strive to be) true believers. So if we are true believers, then by the Might of Allaah we will be guaranteed help, safety and security, ease and nobility for us and our society. [The Nation State of Tawheed And Sunnah: pages: 53-54]
Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhu) said about the statement of Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) ”For each (person), there are Mu-aqqibaat in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah.” They are the angels that protect the person by the command of Allaah; but when what has been decreed for him arrives, they leave him. [Jaami-ul Uloom Wal-Hikam: page: 199]
Answer:
Allaah the most high says: كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
[”Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.’’ [83:14] Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) derived from this ayah that sin is a cause of not (being able) to understand the Qur’aan.
