[2] O Supporters of Khaalid Uthmaan Al-Misri! What Does Your Mentor Intend By “Abu Khadeejah and His Hizb?”]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] informed us about the meeting between his two noble Prophets – Musa and Khidr [peace be upon them]: [قَالَ لَهُ ۥ مُوسَىٰ هَلۡ أَتَّبِعُكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُعَلِّمَنِ مِمَّا عُلِّمۡتَ رُشۡدً۬ا – Musa (Moses) said to him (Khidr): May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allah)?] [قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسۡتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبۡرً۬ا – He (Khidr) said: Verily! You will not be able to have patience with me! “And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not? وَكَيۡفَ تَصۡبِرُ عَلَىٰ مَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِهِۦ خُبۡرً۬ا – And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?] [Surah Al-Kahf. Verses 66-68]

وَكَيۡفَ تَصۡبِرُ عَلَىٰ مَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِهِۦ خُبۡرً۬ا – And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?] – Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Meaning, “From this is a command to employ careful deliberation and sound verification, and not rushing to pass judgement on a matter until what is intended by it is known and what its goal is”. (1) [End of quote]

The second affair we would like to make known to the blind reporters of Khaalid’s statement is the principle: “Al-Hukmu Alaa Shay’in Far’un An Tasawwurihee – Passing a judgement on something is to be (firmly linked and based on the sound) understanding of the affair”. Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “You do not pass a judgement on a thing except after being completely acquainted with it, so that the judgement is in accordance with what the real state of affairs is. And if this is not done, then great error occurs”. (2)

Finally, what is a hizb and what is hizbiyyah? Al-Allaamah Rabee [may Allaah protect him] stated:

Everyone who opposes the Salafi Methodology is from the misguided Ahzaab (Groups or Parties). [see “Footnote a” for detail explanation]

Illegal partisanship has no (specific) conditions; Allaah gave the name Hizb [Group or Party] to nations of the past- named the Quraysh a Hizb when they and those with them gathered against the Messenger. They had no organization and they had nothing; therefore, it is not a condition that a hizb is organized; (but) this hizb increases in evil if it is organized.

Fanaticism to a particular thought that contradicts Allaah’s Book and the Messenger’s Sunnah, establishing allegiance and enmity based on it, this is a hizb [Group of illegal partisanship] and Hizbiyyah [illegal partisanship], even if it is not organised (or under an organisation). To adopt Fikran Munharifan [a thought or idea that is contrary to guidance found in the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah and the understanding of the Sahaabah] and gather people on it, this is a hizb (group of illegal partisanship), whether organized or not. As long as the thought is one that contradicts the Book and the Sunnah (i.e. initiated and people gathered upon it), this is a hizb.

The group (or party) of unbelievers who were fighting the Messenger did not have this organization that exists now, yet Allaah called them groups (or parties); and why is this the case? That is because they gathered to wage war against the truth. Allaah said:

The people of Nuh (Noah) and the confederates after them denied (their Messengers) before these, and every (disbelieving) nation plotted against their Messenger to seize him, and disputed by means of falsehood to refute therewith the truth. So I seized them (with punishment), and how (terrible) was My punishment! [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 5]

Allaah [The Exalted] called them groups (or parties of illegal partisanship). They acted as a group – Quraish, Ghat’faan, Quraydha and various tribes gathered, and they were not organised in the manner similar to (what it is in this era, but) by just gathering Allaah called them Ahzaab (parties or groups of illegal partisanship), and a Surah was named Surah Al-Ahzaab. It is not a condition for a Hizb to be considered as such when organized, (rather) if it holds a false belief, argues for it, debates and establishes allegience due to it, this is a hizb (a group of illegal partisanship); but if in addition it is organised (as an organisation) and mobilise wealth, then surely it becomes more excessive in illegal partisanship and becomes one of the misguided groups (or parties), and Allaah’s Protection is sought (against this misguidance). [Kashf As-Sitaar pages 19-20. paraphrased]

Therefore, we ask the transmitters of Khaalid Uthmaan’s statement about the so called “Hizb of Abu Khadeejah”: What does your mentor intend by this statement? If what he intends is that we are group of Salafiyyoon living in the West, who co-operate upon Salafiyyah, then Alhamdulil laah; but if what is intended is similar to that which both Al-Allaamah Rabee and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah have clarified, then indeed he has slandered, lied and uttered blatant falsehood – a slander that deserves a very harsh rebuke.

Indeed, none can name a single idea, thought or view – an affair either related to Aqeedah or Manhaj – initiated by us that opposes the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah! The one who accuses us of hizbiyyah either does not understand what hizbiyyah is or he has passed a verdict based on lies, slander, vain, desires and conjecture. This behaviour is not befitting a Muslim, let alone a people who attribute themselves to the Sunnah. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ – They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire] [Surah An-Najm. Aayah 23] Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Guessing is Shubhah (i.e. something that resembles the truth but is falsehood in reality) and What they themselves desire is Shahwa (vain) desire, whereas what came us from our Lord opposes both of them”.(3)

To pass a judgement in the religion is an act of worship and has to be based on clear proof and piety- free from guessing, conjecture and vain desires. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah protect him] said, “Not acting on knowledge leads to hardness of the heart. And when this hardness afflicts the heart, it destroys it and thus neither does the heart accept truth nor act upon knowledge. It leads to concealment of knowledge, acting contrary to knowledge, leads [the person to] follow desires and rejects truth that is a clear as the sun”. (4)

The Shaikh also said: Worship Allaah based on that which the Messenger conveyed [i.e. the authentic Sunnah] and based on the texts of the Qur’aan. Neither worship Allaah based on ignorance nor desires, rather worship Allaah based on knowledge. That which is sought after from seeking knowledge is to act upon it, and acting cannot be [fulfilled] except after acquiring knowledge, just as Allaah [The Blessed and Exalted] said:

[فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ۗ – So know (O Muhammad) that none has the right to be worshipped but Allaah, and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women]. [Surah Muhammad. Aayah 19]

Imaam Al-Bukhaari wrote a chapter based on this Aayah, saying: Chapter: “Knowledge precedes speech and action”, because it is obligated on us to act based on knowledge and we are only to worship Allaah based on knowledge. We do not worship Allaah based on ignorance or desires. (5)

Finally, the Imaam of Jarh Wat-Tadeel in our era Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee, Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri and others are witnesses to this fact that Salafipublications and those who co-operate with them upon clarity, and sound Walaa Wal Baraa are upon a sound Salafi Manhaj- may Allaah protect us Aameen. Neither are they upon the methodology of the Qutubiyyah and Surooriyyah nor that of the Haddaadiyyah; neither upon the methodology of Al-Maghraawi nor that of Al-Maribi, Halabi, Al-Hajoori, Bilaal Philips, Abu Muslimah, Abu Usaamah, Shadeed Muhammad, Ali Tameemi, Zaraboozo and others; neither upon the innovations of Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen and Hasan al-Banna nor that of Jamaat At-Tableegh and Muhammad Ilyaas; neither reject the Jarh Mufassar of the scholars in order to defend figureheads and personalities of bidah nor speak with Al-Muwaazanah to accommodate the groups, sects and figureheads of Bidah; neither promote the false principle “We do not disparage but we only correct mistakes’’ nor the other false principle “Let’s not make our differing about someone else a reason for differing amongst ourselves.’’ Neither bring doubts in the narrations of the trustworthy narrators nor differentiate between Aqeedah and Manhaj in order to destroy the clear boundaries between the Salafi Methodology and the false methodologies; neither call to political parties nor the evil and false view that the Salaf differed in Aqeedah, neither revile the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah in this time and make the people flee from them, and pronounce false tabdee on the people, such as the likes of Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi, nor defend those who call the Sahaabah scum, such as Abul Hasan Al-Maribi; neither call the people to accept the misguided sects, parties and organizations into the domain of Ahlus Sunnah nor call to the unity of religions; neither defend the principles that are now been propagated by likes of Ibraaheem Ruhayli nor the extremism that has afflicted Muhammad Bin Haadi and the Musaafiqah. Indeed, the fools – potty mouth Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa and other diseased Musaafiqah witness all these affairs, but do not take heed. This is tantamount to foolishness. “The reality of foolishness is to place something in other than its rightful place”. (6) “A fool imagines the impossible as the possible and the ignorant cannot differentiate the impossible from the possible. The fool knows the right thing but does not act upon it, and the ignorant one does not know the right thing, but would have acted upon it if he knew”. (7) We ask Allaah to protect us from ignorance, vain desires and foolish behaviour Aameen.

Who Did Shaikh Abu Iyaad Receive Recommendation From as a Student of Knowledge?- [Brief Reply to Those Who Ask From The East and The West]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

One of our elders and teachers [may Allaah protect him] who is abroad at present informed us today at 5.47 am that some people have started once again seeking to question Shaikh Abu Iyaad’s credentials as a student of knowledge; therefore, we briefly present here that which will suffice the honest seeker of clarity. Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri [may Allaah protect him] stated when asked about the Salafi callers:

I say: I advise you- if you do love those who give sincere advice- that neither accept cassettes nor books except those of a person whom you know to be upon the Sunnah and a witness of that is established for him-the one well-known to be upon the Sunnah and an opposition to it is not manifested from him. This is an (abiding) general principle applied to him whilst he is alive and after his death. The one who passed away and we regarded him to be upon the Sunnah, then in our view he is upon the Sunnah and we ask Allaah to keep him firm upon it in the afterlife [i.e. Allaah grants him firmness to answer the questions in the grave due to adherence to the Sunnah (Tawheed and following the Messenger) and resurrects him in the afterlife as a person of Sunnah] just as he was kept firm upon it whilst he was alive…Aameen. This is the first affair. Secondly: If the affair of a person is hidden from you–the one whose books and cassettes are famous and his fame is widespread–then ask those who are well acquainted with him and those who know about his state of affairs. That is because neither is the Sunnah hidden nor are its people. A man’s Tazkiyah (i.e. the clear witness that he is upright upon the Sunnah) are his own actions. His Tazkiyah are his own actions that he is upon the Sunnah. It is the witness and the people mention him with it during his life and after his death. [End of quote from an audio titled Mawqifus Saheeh Min Ikhtilaaf Al-Ulama Fil Jarhi Wat-Tadeel. Read full text here:  https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2022/07/22/tabdee-warning-and-dropping-teachers-clarifying-what-a-group-of-simpletons-utter-without-principles/ ]

Therefore, ponder upon the above statement written in bold. The one – Al Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al Jaabiri – who made the statement we’ve typed in bold is the same one who spoke about Shaikh Abu Iyaad, Shaikh Abu Hakeem and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah protect them] as follows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JfHq48Dl0k

May Allaah preserve the scholars and their students Aameen.

Elder Salafi Teachers Who Took The Lead and Dealt With Serious Matters In Person Under Guidance of The Scholars For Nearly 30 Years

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

“The one informed is not the same as the one who witnessed (with his own eyes). Indeed, Allaah [The Exalted] told Musa [peace be upon him] about what his people had done with the calf (i.e. worshipped the calf) and he did not throw the tablets, (but) when he saw what they had done, he threw the tablets (out of anger) and they broke”. [Saheeh Al-Jaami 5374]

Indeed, besides the fact that the elder teachers have excelled us in both knowledge and experience, and the senior scholars – such as the likes of Al Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi and Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri – have testified to their insight and experience, and in addition to this, they were and have always been – to this day – true eye witnesses to events related to Dawah, clarifications and refutations from the early 90s when many of us were not born and some of us were still in secondary schools, then indeed none can take their place in this affair. Therefore, when we come along -regardless our credentials and qualifications, we should not allow anyone to give us precedence and thus we begin to theorise what we have not witnessed in person nor were we one of those who dealt with affairs in person alongside the scholars; rather we learn from the experience of those elder teachers who have preceded us in knowledge, wisdom and experience. So, here we remind our beloved youth that firstly, if a person – after 25 to 30 years – was not from those elder teachers who took the lead in the UK to this day to deal with serious affairs in person whilst receiving directions from the scholars – due to being unable, busy with other affairs or because one was happy to delegate the Fardu Kifaayah to others – who alongside Al-Allaamah Rabee and Al-Allaamah Ubaid – dealt with the various serious affairs  in the UK, such as the Fitna of Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq, Adnaan Ar’oor, Mahmood Al-Haddad, Safar al-Hawaali, Salman Al-Awda, Al-Ma’ribi, Al-Halabi, Faaleh Al-Harbi, Fawzi Al-Bahraini, Yahyah Al-Hajuri, Muhammad Bin Haadi and others, then indeed – with all due respect – such a person cannot be the one we refer back to for precise and insightful advice regarding these affairs. So, how about those amongst us – regardless our credentials, qualifications and efforts in Dawah – who neither witnessed all these affairs nor some of them, neither were we eye witnesses from the early 90s nor from those whose experience and insight has been certified by the scholars in these affairs, even we benefit one another in other ways.

Likewise, do not lend an ear to the statements of anyone who says that these issues – (such as the refutations against Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi and his ilk) – are diversions from seeking knowledge whilst clarifications are being written and transmitted by the well-known elder students amongst us, because such statements or claims certainly manifests one’s naivity, inexperience and shortsightedness in this subject matter.

Likewise, transmitting the books or statements of Al-Allaamah Rabee on Manhaj issues is not enough to make a person a reference point in these affairs, rather the people more knowledgeable about these affairs in reality are those who – for the past 25 to 30 years- have closely worked with the Shaikh to deal with problems. Therefore, we remind ourselves and the youth to make a clear distinction in these affairs because just because one is a Khateeb, a teacher or an elder does not automatically make him one who is well versed in these affairs. No one in the UK – regardless their efforts in teaching, Dawah and adherence to Salafiyyah – can be more well acquainted with the manner in which to deal with these affairs than those elder teachers who have had direct contact with Al-Allaamah Rabee and Al-Allaamah Ubaid for the past two decades, whilst dealing – in person – with these affairs, clarifications and refutations against the obstinate people of error.

Let us respect and honour every Salafi, especially those elders who have preceded us in Salafiyyah and we learn from their experiences, but also placing everyone in his rightful place. So, in order to balance affairs related to studying and reading refutations, then indeed the youth must return to none but elders – those who have excelled us in both knowledge and experience, and the senior scholars – such as the likes of Al Allamah Rabee Bin Haadi and Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri – have testified to their insight and experience. In addition to this, they were and have always been – to this day – true eye witnesses to events related to Dawah, Fitan, clarifications and refutations in the UK from the early 90s when many of us were not born and some of us were still in secondary schools.

This is what wisdom necessitates as Abu Ismaa’eel Al-Harwee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Wisdom is to place something in its rightful place” (1) Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Wisdom is to do what is befitting (or obligatory) in a manner that is benefitting and the during a time it is befitting”. (2)

We ask Allaah to protect us from the trials and grant us life as long as life is good for us.

O Allah! By Your Knowledge of the unseen and by Your Power over creation, let me live if life is good for me, and let me die if death is good for me; O Allah! I ask You to grant me (the blessing of having) fear of You in private and public; And I ask you (to make me utter) a statement of truth in times of contentment and anger; And I ask You for moderation when in a state of wealth and poverty; And I ask you for blessings that never ceases; And I ask You for the coolness of my eye that never ends; And I ask You (to make me pleased) after (Your) decree; Aand I ask You for a life of (ease, comfort, tranquility etc) after death; I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face (i.e. in the Hereafter) and yearning to meet You without any harm and misleading trials (coming upon me); O Allah! Adorn us with the adornment of Eemaan, and make us (from those who are) guided and guiding (others). (3)

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. (4)

[6A] Usaamah Al-Utaybi’s – [The Pottymouth Vile Hater Whose Affair Has Reached The Point of Madness] – Pathetic Attempt to Degrade Selfless Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Should I not inform you about the best of witnesses, they are those who bear witness before being asked”. The scholars say that what is intended by this hadeeth is for example: someone has a witness to give on behalf of another person based on truth, but the person does not know about it, so he (i.e. the one who should give the witness) informs the person about it; or for example, a person has already passed away and another person knows what the deceased person has left behind as inheritance, so he bears witness to that and makes it known. [For further details see Fat-hul Baari 5/260]

We ask Allaah to include us amongst those who bear witness to truth Aameen. And with regards to Al-Markazus Salafi, then indeed – after the Aid, Assistance and the Tawfeeq granted by Allaah, we have witnessed and are absolutely certain of Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah’s selfless support and advice upon Salafiyyah – neither demanding any favour nor worldly gains, rather their relationship with us to this day is nothing but Salafiyyah and striving to maintain the sound Walaa Wal Baraa. The incidents of support and advise – both in private and public- are numerous and well-known to us. There was a period during which we did not have single lesson in the Masjid, then came along selfless Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah represented – at the time – by Shaikh Abu Hakeem and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah, who  visited us once every month, Shaikh Abu Iyaad delivered regular lessons via Telelink and Ustaadh Abu Harun started Madinah Book 1, together with the constant advice given by Shaikh Abdul Ilaah, who had close contact with Abu Eesa (Faizal Kara). So, where is the financial gain for Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah in all of this?! Indeed, neither did they demand and (have never demanded) a single penny nor personal loyalty to this day, rather their concern has always been Salafiyyah, truthfulness and clarity, even though the vile hater – pottymouth and slanderer (Usaamah Al-Utaybi) – claims that the overseers of Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah are people who seek Dunya through Dawah Salafiyyah. This affair will be elaborated upon in the next post InShaaAllaah.

An Example of Dedication: Few weeks ago, our beloved Salafi brother Abu Maryam – Tariq [may Allaah protect him and his loved ones Aameen] reminded us of something very important, saying, “Whenever fitnah occurred, I witnessed the worry and concern of the elder teachers, but the firmness and tranquility of the scholars (Al-Allaamah Rabee and others) was something distinguished. I come to know that the reason behind this firmness is due to their certainty and experience, because they’ve witnessed many other Fitan in the past. Then when fitna occurred again, I found myself having the same worry and concern that I witnessed from the elder teachers, but I saw that they had certainty and firmness, so I came to realise that they have learnt this from the scholars throughout the years”. Then Abu Maryam said to us, “I was once with one of the elder teachers during Umrah when he received a phone call from an important personality, who made an unjustified demand related to a specific Manhaj stance, but the elder teacher firmly refused”. May Allaah protect this Maktabah, all the Maraakiz and teachers Aameen.

Finally, we must always remember that not only will the upright Salafi teachers face opponents, but they will also have to deal with the harm of those who betray the truth and those make statements to weaken their resolve when they strive to clarify truth, so we ask Allaah to grant us and them patience, certainty and praiseworthy bravery Aameen. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [فَٱصۡبِرۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ۬‌ۖ وَلَا يَسۡتَخِفَّنَّكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ – So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allaah is true. And let not those who have no certainty of faith, discourage you from conveying Allah’s Message (which you are obliged to convey)]. [Surah Rum’ Aayah 60]

[فَٱصۡبِرۡ – So be patient]- Meaning, upon that which you have been commanded and in calling them to the [path of] Allaah; even if you see them turning away that should not turn you away from the call. [إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ۬‌ۖ – Indeed, the promise of Allaah is true]- Meaning, there is no doubt about that. And this is from that which aids a person to exercise patience, because when a servant know that his deeds will not be in vain and will find a full reward for it [in the afterlife], then what he faces of hardship will become minor, and it will become much easy for him to bear every difficulty.

[وَلَا يَسۡتَخِفَّنَّكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ – And let not those who have no certainty of faith, discourage you]- Meaning, their Imaan is weak and their certainty is little, so their forbearance becomes lacking as result of that and their patience is little. So, beware out of fear of being discouraged by these people, because unless you are not careful about their affair, they will discourage you and lead you to not being firm in holding fast to the commands and prohibitions, and the soul may assist them in this affair and seek to be similar and to be in agreement with them. [An Excerpt from Tafseer as-Sadi. Slightly paraphrased]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Everyone will face afflictions, for indeed a person is a social being who must live with [other] people; the people have wants [or desires, wishes etc] and perceptions, and will seek to make him agree with them. If he disagrees with them, they harm and punish him; but if he agrees with them, sometimes they harm him and at other times he is harmed by others”. [An Excerpt from ‘Al-Fawaa’id’ pages 293-300. slightly paraphrased]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said stated regarding bravery: Allaah forbade that which is in opposition to it, and that is cowardice, dismay and fear of the creation when striving in the path of calling to Allaah. This sublime quality is innate within the person and it is strengthened by virtue of Eemaan. Bravery strengthens the heart, makes it firm and gives it tranquility in times of important events and distressful situations.

The Qur’aan commands fear of Allaah alone and that the person is not to fear the creation. The person’s heart is strengthened when he limits his fear to fearing Allaah Alone, and knows that the creation neither have the ability to benefit nor harm him, except by the will of Allaah. His heart is increased in strength when he places his reliance upon Allaah and is firm, just as Allaah [The Most High] stated about the best of the creation:

ٱلَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدۡ جَمَعُواْ لَكُمۡ فَٱخۡشَوۡهُمۡ فَزَادَهُمۡ إِيمَـٰنً۬ا وَقَالُواْ حَسۡبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡوَڪِيلُ

Those unto whom the people said, ”Verily, the people have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them.” But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: ”Allaah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)” [Surah Aal Imran. Aayah 173]

The slave’s strength and bravery increases when he knows the good reward and recompense that follows on from being strengthened in Bravery and Religion, just as Allaah has stated:

[إِن تَكُونُواْ تَأۡلَمُونَ فَإِنَّهُمۡ يَأۡلَمُونَ كَمَا تَأۡلَمُونَ‌ۖ وَتَرۡجُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَرۡجُونَ‌ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا – If you are suffering (hardships) then surely, they (too) are suffering (hardships) as you are suffering, but you have a hope from Allaah (for the reward, i.e. Paradise) that for which they hope not] (4:104)

And that which is observed and known about the state of affairs and characteristics of the creation is that they neither own anything of benefit nor assistance and protection; they do not desire good for you, except with regards to that which is of benefit to them. Therefore, it must be known that attaching the heart to them with fear, veneration, awe, fervent desire and reverence is tantamount to loss, rather it is harm.

Indeed, it is obligated on a person to attach his fear, hope, expectation and awe to Allaah (Alone), Who (Alone) owns everything. He is The One who wants good for you when you do not desire it for yourself – knows what is for your well-being and you do not know, (and) enables you to receive that which you do not have any ability to (receive by yourself). The person realizes that cowardice is an illness and a weakness in the heart that causes abandonment of good and loss of beneficial things. It afflicts the weak ones, and the one afflicted by it is similar to timid women. And amongst the benefits of bravery are: the commands of Allaah and His Messenger are fulfilled, and (because of it) one is described with the characteristics of the people of insight amongst men of understanding. There cannot be a greater means to obtaining that which is sought after and a means to safety from difficulties and troubles when the heart is strengthened with what Allaah sends down upon it of relief and tranquility. The brave individual is enabled to guide and benefit the creation with wisdom and fair speech in accordance to their different social classes. As for the coward, he misses a great deal of good and fear prevents him from the blessings of his knowledge and from guiding and giving sincere advice to (Allaah’s) servants. A person is saved from a lot of hardships through bravery – finds tranquility when faced with afflictions and calamities, responds with what Allaah loves of patience and firmness, whilst hoping for Allaah’s reward. As for the coward, he is distracted and that which is of benefit to him is wasted away when these affairs come to him. He is made to waiver through harmful views that bring about painful things alongside calamities and difficulties; loses good and the reward for being placed under hardship. This praiseworthy quality (i.e. bravery) emanates from that excellent and all-inclusive quality of patience. And Allaah knows best. [An Excerpt from Fat-hul Raheemil Malikil Allaam Fee Ilmil Aqaa-id Wat-Tawheed Wal Akhlaaq Wal Ahkaam. Page 40]

We ask Allaah to bless all the teachers in the Maraakiz – in the UK and elsewhere, and bless Ustaadh Abu Mu’aadh for his continuous dedication to beneficial lessons at Al-Markazus Salafi and elsewhere. Indeed, whoever is not thankful to the people will not be thankful to Allaah. Likewise, we ask Allaah to bless both Ustaadh Abdul Hakeem Mitchell for his lessons and our Shorah member [Abu Aa’isha (Amjad Khan)] for his beneficial reminders on issues of Manhaj every Tuesday. We ask Allaah to unite our hearts upon righteousness and piety, and distance us from sin and transgression Aameen. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ – Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression].

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: This verse contains all the Masaalih (things that will bring about benefit and repel harm) for the salves in their worldly affairs and in the Hereafter- amongst themselves or in relation to their relationship with their Lord. That is because every servant finds himself within two circumstances and obligations – either to fulfil the obligations owed to Allaah or the obligations owed to Allaah’s creation. As for the obligations owed to the creation, they include (righteous) association, companionship, aiding one another upon what Allaah loves and obedience to Allaah, and that is the goal behind one’s search for happiness and success in the afterlife. There can be no happiness in the afterlife except through Bir and Taqwaa, because it is basis of all affairs of the religion.

As for Taqwa, its reality is to act in obedience to Allaah based on Eemaan in Allaah and hoping for Allaah’s Reward- fulfil what Allaah has commanded based on having Eemaan in that which Allaah has commanded and affirming the reward Allaah has promised; abandon what Allaah has forbidden based on one’s belief that what Allaah has forbidden is forbidden and fearing Allaah’s punishment, just as Talq Bin Habeeb [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “When Fitna occurs, extinguish it with Taqwa”. So the people said, “What is Taqwa?” He said, “You act in obedience to Allaah upon a light from Allaah [i.e. Eemaan, sincerity, guidance etc] and hoping for reward from Allah. And you abandon disobedience to Allaah upon a light from Allah and fearing the punishment of Allah”. This is the best of that which has been stated regarding Taqwa, because indeed there has to be an aim and a goal behind every deed. A deed cannot be considered an act of obedience to Allaah and an act that gets one close to Allaah until it is based on Eemaan, so that which leads to the performance of that deed is solely due to Eemaan – neither (un-Islamic) customs nor desires, neither seeking praise nor status and other than it; rather it should be solely based on Eemaan and the aim behind it should be to attain Allaah’s reward and seeking after Allaah’s Pleasure. [5] Usaamah Al-Utaybi’s – [The Pottymouth Vile Hater Whose Affair Has Reached The Point of Madness] – Pathetic Attempt to Degrade Shaikh Abdul Waahid!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, he Bestower of Mercy.

Usaamah Al-Utaybi – the pottymouth vile hater whose affair has reached the point of Madness- stated, “Amongst them (i.e. Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah) were those attributed to seeking knowledge, such as Abu Hakeem, who was my student and he had some knowledge. We used to see (or hold) good about him”. Then pottymouth Usaamah desperately attempted to degrade Shaikh Abu Khadeejah and called him an Aammi (a commoner) and thereafter stated that Abu Khadeejah distorts the meaning of the Qur’an in his quotes; then drama prince – Usaamah – sought refuge with Alaah due to this.

Response: Firstly, all praise is due to Allaah that Shaikh Abu Hakeem [may Allaah preserve him] sat with scholars and greatly benefiited from their knowledge and manners, therefore, whatever he heard from Usaamah – at the time – is nothing compared to the benefit he acquired from Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi, Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree, Al-Allaamah Hammaad Al-Ansaaree and others. This statement of pottymouth Usaamah should not be blown out of proportion, because neither can he give Shaikh Abu Hakeem nor any of us more than what the senior scholars can give us. In addition to this, beloved Shaikh Abu Hakeem is well-known for his gentle character, forbearance and noble manners, and there is no doubt that he has greatly benefitted from the noble manners of the upright senior scholars in our era- those foremost in adherence to the path of the pious predecessors of this Ummah. Ibraaheem Ibn Bash-shaar [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Ibraaheem Ibn Adham [may Allaah have mercy upon him] atched a man who was speaking to another man; so he [i.e. the man] got so angry that he uttered an ugly statement. So Ibraaheem said to him, ‘O such and such! Fear Allaah and it is obligatory that you keep quiet, exercise forbearance and restraint”, so the man kept quiet. Then Ibraaheem said to him, ‘It has reached me that Ahnaf Ibn Qais [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, ‘We frequently went to Qais Ibn Aasim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] to learn forbearance from him, just as we frequently went to the scholars to seek knowledge’. So he [i.e. the man] said, ‘You don’t have to repeat it [i.e. what you have said is enough as an admonition etc]'”. [Taareekh Dimashq 26/219]

As for Al-Utaybi, he has proven once again that he is one afflicted with an evil desire for evil excessive speech and transgression as we have already mentioned in pervious posts – possessor of a vile tongue that falsely accuses Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah of Bidah, Haddaadiyyah etc. Therefore, with regards to his claim, “We used to see (hold) good about him (Abu Hakeem)”, then indeed neither is our beloved Shaikh – Abu Hakeem- in need of his testimony, even if that is in our Shaikh’s favour, nor is our Shaikh affected by his vile tongue by the Will of Allaah. Malik Bin Deenaar [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Since I have known people, neither have I rejoiced due to their praise nor have I hated their censure, because indeed their praises are excessive and their censures are excessive”. [Siyar A’laam An-Nubulaa 4/362]

Secondly, as for pottymouth Usaamah’s pathetic attempt to degrade Shaikh Abdul Waahid (Abu Khadeejah) by calling him an Aamiy (commoner), then indeed not an atom’s weight of harm – by the Will of Allaah – touches our beloved Shaikh due to the envy of this spiteful moron. In addition to this, Shaikh Abdul Waahid and his brothers at Salafipublaications have received that which suffices based on the reality of what is known about them. [On Friday, the 25th of June 2010 (14 Rajab 1431H), the following question was posed to the Al-Allaamah Rabee Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee: “O Shaykh, as you are aware, there are no scholars in Britain, but is there anyone residing there that you advise us with, who can connect us to the people of knowledge?” The Shaykh, may Allaah preserve him, mentioned: Our brother Hasan as-Somali (who was present in the gathering), Abu Khadeejah and his companion (Abu Hakeem). The Shaykh also stressed the importance of them keeping ties with the scholars. May Allaah reward the Shaykh and protect our brothers who are striving to spread the call of the Sunnah in the West. Alhamdulillaah there were many brothers present when this question was asked, and they heard the answer] [Posted by our beloved brother Abu Maryam Tariq on 06-07-2010 at salafitalk.net]

The Tazkiyah of Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree [may Allaah protect him]:

Likewise, we have the well-known Tazkiya given by beloved Al-Allaamah Hasan Bin Muhammad Bin Abdil Wahhab Marzooq Al-Bannah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] who visited the Maktabah in person and then stated before his departure from the West: “All praise be to Allaah, Maashaa’Allaah, they have organisation (in da’wah), they have a maktabah salafiyyah, they have a school, a kindergarten or primary school, all these things are tremendous and all praise be to Allaah they have big numbers with them. They also have with them many mashaayikh from amongst them Shaykh Abu Khadeejah, they have knowledge, with them is knowledge, and other than him like Shaykh Abu Hakeem Bilal. All of these maashaa’Allaah and many other people beside them – they are many people I met so I cannot recall their names – but those that are with them I find that they are upon khayr (goodness). Since they have many students of knowledge with them from their likes, so it is laazim (incumbent) that they traverse upon their way, because they have indibaat (firm discipline, groundedness), and all praise is due to Allaah, and they have cooperation and love for the sake of Allaah. They are from the best we have seen here from the different centres and (…) them upon steadfastness(..)”. [a well-known widely spread speech of the Shaikh witnessed in person]

These Tazkiyyaat are based on reality to this day, because our elder teachers – may Allaah protect us and them upon the blessed Manhajus Salafi – have not moved away from the sound Aqeedah and Manhaj by the Tawfeeq of Allaah. Therefore, irrelevant indeed is the statement of a vile moron who seeks to degrade those whose virtue is witnessed and ascertained by the upright senior Salafi scholars. Nothing remains to be said about vile Usaamah’s pathetic attempt to degrade beloved Shaikh Abdul Waahid, except the statement of Imaam Fudayl Ibn Iyaad [may Allaah have mercy upon him], who said, “There’s none who loves leadership, except that he will envy, transgress, seek after people’s fault (i.e. falsely) and hates that anyone else is mentioned with good”. [Reported by Ibn Abdil Barr in Al-Jaami. Number 971]

As for vile Usaamah’s pathetic attempt to degrade Shaikh Abu Khadeejah due to pronunciations in the Arabic language, then indeed that is not a reason to reject or accept truth possessed by a person. We have a clear example in the Qur’aan regarding Fir’awn and noble Prophet Musa [peace be upon him]! [أَمۡ أَنَا۟ خَيۡرٌ۬ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى هُوَ مَهِينٌ۬ وَلَا يَكَادُ يُبِينُ – Am I (Fir’awn) not better than this one (Musa), who is Mahin (has no honour nor any respect, and is weak and despicable) and can scarcely express himself clearly?][Surah Az-Zukhruf’ Ayah 52]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “May Allaah [The Most High] disfigure Fir’awn, because indeed he intended Musa by this description, even though Musa is one whom Allaah [The Most High] spoke to directly and one given high status by Allaah [The Most High]; however Fir’awn thought that he is honoured and Musa is dishonoured and disgraced. He also proclaimed that in addition to this, Musa cannot even speak clearly because he is not eloquent! However, Firawn’s insult that Musa cannot even express himself is not something blameworthy at all, because he was able to convey the message, even though he used to encounter some difficulty when speaking”. [An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi]

Ponder upon Imaam As-Sadi’s statement: “However, Firawn’s insult that Musa cannot even express himself is not something blameworthy at all, because he was able to convey the message, even though he used to encounter some difficulty when speaking”.

Bear in mind that the above quote is neither intended as a comparison between Prophet Musa [peace be upon him] and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah nor as a comparison between Usaamah and Fir’awn, lest the shameless liars and slanderers accuse us of something mighty; rather our intent here is to highlight the fact that truth is to be given paramount importance and not eloquence in any given language. In addition to this, we have prayed behind our beloved Shaikh Abdul Waahid at his house, and at Salaficentre – during a Salaatul Khusoof, but nothing can be said about his recitation of that which is one of the pillars of the prayer (i.e. Surah Al-Faahihah), and that which he recited of the other chapters. Many of us non-Arabs- including the authors of this article- will surely make mistakes at times in our pronunciations. We also remind vile Usaamah of another statement of Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] when he stated: “A Jaahil (ignorant one) is that one who speaks with a speech that contains no benefit and mocks at the people. As for a sensible person, he sees that one of the most blameworthy traits – abhorred by (sound) religion and intellect- is to mock at someone who is a human being like himself. And if he has been favoured over another person, then this favour necessitates that he thanks Allaah and shows mercy to Allaah’s servants”. [Tafseer Surah Al-Baqarah Aayah 68]

Therefore, if vile Usaamah’s recitation and pronunciation excels that of others, then indeed neither should that be a reason to mock at others nor is it something that automatically gives him virtue over others in the sight of Allaah, whilst he is one afflicted with evil manners and a vile tongue that hurls false accusations of bidah and haddaadiyyah- without an atom’s weight of evidence – against those who are well known for their Salafiyyah to this day. We remind vile Usaamah – once again – of Imaam Al-Khateeb Al-Baghdaadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] when he stated, “It is incumbent that the seekers of Hadeeth should be the (possessors of the) most perfect (behaviour, traits, manners, etiquettes etc) amongst the people, the most humble amongst the people, the greatest in their impartiality and adherence to the religion, the least in (deviating from good conduct) and (being overcome by) angry; and that is due to constantly lending an ear to the narrations that combine the excellent manners and etiquettes of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], the lives of the virtuous pious predecessors, the path of the scholars of Hadeeth and the virtues of the (pious ones and scholars) who have passed away; so they adhere to the most refined and excellent (aspects of those traits, etiquettes, manners etc) and turn away from the most despised and lowly (traits, behaviour, manners, etiquettes etc)”. [Jaami Bayaan Al-Ilm 1/78. Slightly paraphrased]

Finally, it is incumbent upon us to strive – alongside studying this Aqeedah and Manhaj – to behave well and ask Allaah to bless us with good manners. Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: [اللهم كما حَسَّنْت خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي – O Allah! Just as You made my external form beautiful, make my character beautiful as well].

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [maay Allaah preserve him] said, “Two images: the visible image and that is the body, and the unseen image and that is the manners. The first image is called Al-Khalq and the second is called Al-Khuluq with the vowel Dammah on the letter khaa and laam. The human being is made up of these two images. There are amongst the people those whose visible image and manners are beautiful, such as Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and those amongst the Muslims whom Allaah has blessed with it. There are amongst those whose visible image is evil and his manners are evil, and this one is the most repugnant of people. There are amongst the people one whose visible image is unsightly and the people do not consider him to be anything (i.e. give him no importance), but his unseen image is good. This person is also good and his unsightly appearance does not harm him if what is conceal in him is good. There are amongst the people those who are the opposite and that is one whose visible image is good looking and his unseen image is ugly. This person resembles a hypocrite, and Allaah refuge is sought. This person is repugnant. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] supplicated for the two things: the beautiful visible image and beautiful unseen image, so he said, “O Allah! Just as You made my external form beautiful, make my character beautiful as well”. He was the most perfect person in his visible image and manners. Therefore, in this regard one has to follow the example of the Messenger and that a Muslim supplicates to Allaah with this supplication. He does consider himself perfect and says, ‘I don’t have shortcomings’, but rather he turns to Allaah by asking for the beautification of his visible image and unseen image. And Allaahu knows best”. Between Us Are Books of The Salaf to Judge- [Reply to Caught Infiltrators Who Said, “Spubs are The Only Salafis in UK”]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Between Us and You Are Books of The Salaf to Judge!

Few Affairs Regarding Spubs – During and After Lifetime of Shaikh Abu Talhah:  A Brief Reminder to The One Who Says -Sarcastically – “Spubs are The Only Salafis in The Uk”.

Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him and protect him from the enmity of the people of bidah, hizbiyyah and Tamyee] wrote, “In the nineties, when the da’wah was in its infancy, many people left the Salafi Manhaj, preferring the paths of innovation – Dawud (rahimahullaah) saw them come and saw them go, but he would not join them in their opposition. Rather he would advise those who were once with us upon this path of Sunnah, he would show great concern for them so they not be misguided. He would make du’aa for them, and then leave their affair to Allaah, and stop his association with them only for the sake of Allaah. He would not compromise with them, nor praise those who opposed this blessed Manhaj. He was the first person to translate the rudood (refutations) of Shaikh Muqbil, Shaikh al-Albaanee and Shaikh Rabee’ against Jam’iyyah Ihyaa Turaath al-Islaamee – he stemmed and almost cut off their bid’ah in the UK by way of these translations (by the permission of Allaah). Allaah had blessed him with skills of translation that I have not seen equaled in the West, and Allaah knows best”. http://www.salafitalk.com/threads/657-Abu-Talhah-Dawud-Burbank-and-his-Wife-have-Died?p=1178#post1178 [End of Quote]

Indeed, this above statement of Shaikh Abu Khadeejah is truth. Shaikh Abu Talhah [may Allaah have mercy upon him and his wife] translated the works of the scholars in refutation against the Mubtadi’h within the ranks of Ihya Turaath, such as the likes of Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq. He was also well-known for translating the works of the scholars on various topics needed to clarify the correct positions on Ibaadah, Aqeedah, Manhaj, groups, parties, sects, contemporary deviant organizations, individuals and personalities. The following are some of his works mentioned by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah.

Facts about Shaikh Abu Talhah – aA man who defended the Sunnah!

FACT: Shaikh Abu Talhah translated Shaikh al-Albaanee’s refutations on Ihyaa Turaath and Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul-Khaaliq. [End of Quote]

This was part of Shaikh Abu Talhah’s methodology, which he learnt from the scholars of Salafiyyah, and this is the same methodology he died upon. The Imaam of Jarh Wat-Tadeel in our era Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee and others are witnesses to this fact and this is what Salafipublications are upon to this day – may Allaah protect us and them Aameen. Neither upon the methodology of the Qutubiyyah and Surooriyyah nor that of the Haddaadiyyah; neither upon the methodology of Al-Maghraawi nor that of Al-Maribi, Halabi, Al-Hajoori, Bilaal Philips, Abu Muslimah, Abu Usaamah, Shadeed Muhammad, Ali Tameemi, Zaraboozo and others; neither upon the innovations of Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen and Hasan al-Banna nor that of Jamaat At-Tableegh and Muhammad Ilyaas; neither reject the Jarh Mufassar of the scholars in order to defend figureheads and personalities of bidah nor speak with Al-Muwaazanah to accommodate the groups, sects and figureheads of Bidah; neither promote the false principle “We do not disparage but we only correct mistakes’’ nor the other false principle “Let’s not make our differing about someone else a reason for differing amongst ourselves.’’ Neither bring doubts in the narrations of the trustworthy narrators nor differentiate between Aqeedah and Manhaj in order to destroy the clear boundaries between the Salafi Methodology and the false methodologies; neither call to political parties nor the evil and false view that the Salaf differed in Aqeedah, neither revile the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah in this time and make the people flee from them, such as the likes of Muhammad Bin Haadi, nor defend those who call the Sahaabah scum, such as Abul Hasan Al-Maribi; neither call the people to accept the misguided sects, parties and organizations into the domain of Ahlus Sunnah nor call to the unity of religions; neither defend the principles that are now been propagated by likes of Ibraaheem Ruhayli nor the extremism that has afflicted Muhammad Bin Haadi and the Musaafiqah.

We conclude with a statement of Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] as follows: “All of you hold onto the Rope of Allaah [i.e. The Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah]- Allaah will aid you in this and make you like the sun; return to the understanding of the righteous predecessors, and it is, as I said to you, transmitted (and established) in your presence. This is a challenge to those who oppose this. We are challenging ahlul bidah wal ahwaa [the proponents of innovation in religious affairs and followers of desires] in their creed and politics. We say, between us and you is the (path, understanding of the) pious predecessors and books (of the pious predecessors). Ahmad [i.e. Imaam Ahmad] used to say to the proponents of innovation in religious affairs, “Between us and you are the funerals (i.e. whose funeral will be attended by ahlus sunnah in great numbers)”. We say (i.e. at present), “Between us and you are the books (of the pious predecessors)- the books are present!

Allaah said to His Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]: [قل فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ – All food was lawful to the Children of Israel, except what Israel made unlawful for himself before the Taurat (Torah) was revealed. Say (O Muhammad ): “Bring here the Taurat (Torah) and recite it, if you are truthful”]- So they bring the Torah and you proof them to be upon falsehood. We bring the books of the pious predecessors – the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the books of Al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasaa’ee, and what was authored by Ahmad and others; we bring them (to prove) those who are on the path of these (pious predecessors) and those who turn away and oppose them. Just as Allaah challenged the Jews to bring the Torah, so the Torah was brought and they were exposed them, (likewise), we challenge these people to bring the books of the pious predecessors, so that the innovator in religious affairs is exposed, and to clarify who the deviants are- whether us or them? Are they able to challenge? Can they open their mouths like this? We fill our mouths with courage – challenge everyone who says that we are upon other than methodology of the pious predecessors. We, by Allaah, call to the methodology of the pious predecessors- to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. We use the book of Allaah and the Sunnah as proof for our beliefs, our acts of worship, dealings with rulers and their subjects, in dealing with the groups and sects. As for the others, they are upon tricks, deception etc By Allaah, you will not find with them anything but tricks and manipulating the emotions of youth”. (1)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Nuh [peace be upon him] when he stated that Nuh said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 109] – Meaning, “What I want is to advise you and that you follow the straight path”. (1)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Hud [peace be upon him] when he stated that Hud said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 127] – Meaning, “I do not ask you for reward for calling you to the (correct path) and for advising you, rather reward is from Allaah – the One Who nurtured you through His blessings”.(2)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Saaleh [peace be upon him] when he stated that Saaleh said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 145]- Meaning, “Lest you say, ‘We are prevented from following you because you want to take our wealth’, but I do not seek reward except from Allaah”. (3)

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Lut [peace be upon him] when he stated that Lut said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 164]

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about Prophet Shu’aib [peace be upon him] when he stated that Shu’iab said to his people: [ وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ – No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 180]

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about the command He gave to the seal of the Prophets Muhammad [peace be upon him]: [قُل لَّآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ أَجۡرًا إِلَّا ٱلۡمَوَدَّةَ فِى ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ‌ۗ – Say (O Muhammad ): “No reward do I ask of you for this except to be kind to me for my kinship with you”] [Surah Ash-Shuraa. Aayah 23] – Meaning: No reward do I ask you for conveying this Qur’an to you and calling you to follow its rulings. Neither do not want to take your wealth nor be in charge over you and become your leader, nor do I have any other goals, except that you should be kind to me for my kinship with you”. It may be that what is intended behind this Aayah is: I am not asking you for any reward, except one one that is for you and whose benefit returns to you, which that you love me due to the ties of kinship between us, and this is a type of love that is an addition to the love that is based on Imaan, because indeed loving the Messenger – due to Imaan- and giving precedence to loving him over all love besides love of Allaah is obligated on every Muslim. So, the Prophet was asking them for something in addition that they show him love due to kinship, because he embarked upon his call by inviting his closest relatives to Islam, to the extent that it was said that there was none amongst the Quraish except that Messenger had ties of kinship with them. (3)

Therefore, let the maintainers of the Maraakiz neither fear nor compromise when conveying the sound Salafi Methodology. As for those who give so that the gas bill, electricity bill or council tax bill are paid, or so that the Imaam, the Mu’addhin or cleaner are paid, or so that maintenance work is carried out, then indeed that is a mighty Sadaqah Jaariyah InShaaAllaah, and may Allaah reward them with abundant good in this life and the next. So, we strive to give without any ulterior motives, such as desiring that our views are endorsed or that the teachers and Khutabaa should refrain from making a clear distinction between Sunnah and Bidah, between sound unity and false unity, between Salafiyyah and illegal partisanship.

The Salafi teachers and Khutabaa must enjoin good and forbid evil by clarifying the sound Salafi Methodology, exposing the false claimants and warning the people against deviation. If there are Masaajid that oppose the Sunnah of the Prophet or the Methodology of the companions in some issues, then such errors must be warned against so that the people are upon clear-sightedness, otherwise they will be guilty of treachery and sinful concealment. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[ٱلَّذِينَ يَبۡخَلُونَ وَيَأۡمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلۡبُخۡلِ وَيَڪۡتُمُونَ مَآ ءَاتَٮٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ‌ۗ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡڪَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابً۬ا مُّهِينً۬ا – Those who are miserly and enjoin miserliness on other people and hide what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties. And We have prepared for the disbelievers a disgraceful torment]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 37] – Meaning: They refrain from fulfilling the rights obligated on them. Enjoin miserliness on other people through their statements and actions, hide what Allaah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties, such as knowledge by way of which the astray are guided and the ignorant ones are led aright. So, they hide it from them and make apparent to them falsehood that comes between them and the truth. So, they have gathered between miserliness with regards to wealth and knowledge, and between hastening towards loss for themselves and for others. (4)

Shaikh – [An Old Man, a Righteous Man or a Man Recognised By Scholar as One With Islamic Knowledge] [Part 1]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh – An Old Man

Allaah [The Most High] stated: [قَالَتْ يَا وَيْلَتَى أَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا عَجُوزٌ وَهَذَا بَعْلِي شَيْخًا إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ – She (i.e. the wife of Ibraaheem) said (in astonishment): “Woe unto me! Shall I bear a child while I am an old woman, and here is my husband, a Shaikh (an old man?) Verily! This is a strange thing!] [Surah Hud. Aayah 72]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [قَالُوا يَا أَيُّهَا الْعَزِيزُ إِنَّ لَهُ أَبًا شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا فَخُذْ أَحَدَنَا مَكَانَهُ إِنَّا نَرَاكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ – They (i.e. Prophet Yusuf’s brohers) said: “O ruler of the land! Verily, he (i.e. Bin Yameen) has أَبًا شَيْخًا (an old father) (who will grieve for him); so take one of us in his place. Indeed we think that you are one of the Muhsinun (good-doers)]. [Surah Yusuf. Aayah 78]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا قَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِي حَتَّى يُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاءُ وَأَبُونَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ – He (i.e. Prophet Musa) said: “What is the matter with you?” They (i.e. the two sisters) said: “We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take (their flocks). And our father is a Shaikhun kabeer (a very old man)”.] [Surah Al-Qasas. Aayah 23]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[ هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخًا – He, it is Who has created you (Adam) from dust, then from a Nutfah (mixed semen drops of male and female discharge (i.e. Adam’s offspring) then from a clot (a piece of coagulated blood), then brings you forth as children, then (makes you grow) to reach the age of full strength, and afterwards to be Shyookhan (old men and women)…] [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 67]

“If he has gray hair and his old age has become manifest, then he is a Shaikh” (1)

Shaikh – a Pious Person

Abdur Rahmaan Bin Abee Haatim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “I heard my father saying, ‘Hajjaaj Bin Firaasatah is a righteous Shaikh – one devoted to worship'”. (2)

Shaikh – A Person Recognised By Scholars as One With Knowledge

Raaghib Al-Isfahaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “It is said about the one who is aged “The Shaikh”. And it may be used among us regarding someone who has a lot of knowledge, because one of the affairs related to a Shaikh is that he has a lot of experience and knowledge”. (3)

Al-Allaamah Hasan Al-Bannah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: All praise be to Allaah, maashaa’Allaah, they have organisation (in da’wah), they have a maktabah salafiyyah, they have a school, a kindergarten or primary school, all these things are tremendous and all praise be to Allaah they have big numbers with them. (4)

In the above statement of Al-Allaamah Hasan Al-Bannah [may Allaah have mercy upon him], he referred to some Salafi teachers – in the West – as Shuyookh and that they have knowledge. Indeed, we know very well that all the Salafi teachers who are referred to as Shaikh are of different levels in knowledge- some are Senior scholars and Mujtahideen, such as the likes of Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Haadee, Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan, Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillah Al-Jaabiri and others [may Allaah preserve them]. All the other well known Salafi teachers who are referred to as Shaikh – whether they live in the West or in the Muslim lands – know the clear difference when this word Shaikh is applied to them and when applied to the above three scholars and those at their level. Likewise, Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdullah Al-Jaabiri refers to Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari [may Allaah preserve him] as Al-Allaamah, but one knows that neither Shaikh Abdullah nor anyone amongst the Salafiyyoon places Shaikh Abdullah at the same level as Shaikh Ubaid.

Likewise, when we say “Shaikh Abu Khadeejah, Shaikh Abu Hakeem, Shaikh Abu Idrees, Shaikh Abu Iyaadh and Shaikh Hasan Somali, Shaikh Abdul Ilaah, Shaikh Uways etc”, we do not intend that they are at the same level as Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari and those at his level; rather they have been referred to as Shuyookh by an experienced Senior Salafi Scholar and we know exactly what this means, which is that they have knowledge and deserve the title based on what that senior scholar (Al-Allaamah Hasan Al-Bannah) witnessed in person about them. However, it must be understood that neither do these elder brothers demand that they should be given the title Shaikh nor that whoever does not call them Shaikh is disrespectful; rather they were called Shaikh by Al-Allaamah Hasan al-Bannah who also mentioned that they have knowledge. Bear in mind that none forces you to call our elders “Shuyookh” nor is there any suspicion on anyone who refrains from doing so, rather refer to any of them as “Ustaadh” if you wish; but do not object when we call them Shaikh because we have a precedence and we know exactly what this implies. They are people well known for referring back to the Senior Scholars of the Ummah and transmit their works on various topics, clarify the sound Islamic methodology and refute all those who oppose the sound Islamic methodology of the Salafus Saaleh (The Pious Predecessors). This is the context in which Shaikh Hasan Al-Bannah referred to them as Mashaayikh. They are more aware of their level than us and they are not pretenders, rather their efforts in the path of Dawah, teaching and Tarbiyah in the West – together with constant consultation with the Senior Scholars of the Ummah – is well known. May Allaah increase them in knowledge, piety and sincerity Aameen.

Reminder By One of Our Beloved Brothers (Abu Maryam) Regarding Being Thankful

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Our beloved brother Abu Maryam (Tariq Al-Kashmeeri)- the one known for his love of Salafiyyah and its adherents- reminded us as follows…”The year is 2002…By the Grace of Allāh the Salafī Masjid in Birmingham opens its doors for the first time!  After years of struggle, feeling constrained, seeing the word “Salafī” tarnished and frowned upon, not having anything but a Bookstore and Islamic Centre [this centre being used for a bookstore, lessons, teaching young children], Allāh blessed us with a Masjid at a time when the Salafīs didn’t have the Masājid and Marākiz they have today. We were overjoyed, overwhelmed and grateful for the Blessing of Allāh upon us!!
The Masjid was instantly a base for the dissemination of knowledge. Brothers and sisters gathered, the smell of freshly painted walls, new carpet and perfume in the air! Abū Talhah (رحمه الله) teaching, Abū Hakeem (حفظه الله) returned from Al-Madīnah, Abū Khadeejah (حفظه الله) teaching; Abū Idrees would soon return. A place to now invite our elders Abū Iyaad, Abdulilah, Uways (حفظهم الله). Abū Hakeem opened this book and taught the Salafīs how to run their first Masjid in our city!
The point of mentioning this is that, as our scholars mentioned many times, giving thanks to Allāh is a necessity due to His Mercy and abundance of blessings upon the Salafī youth here. No doubt, Allāh has showered us with blessings upon blessings since that time. We’ve had Masājid and Marākiz open, up and down the country and our brothers and sisters in those communities have felt the same joy we felt.
As Allāh ﷻ said:  [‎وَإِذۡ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمۡ لَىِٕن شَكَرۡتُمۡ لَأَزِیدَنَّكُمۡۖ – And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings)…] [Surah Ibraaheem. Aayah 7]
Alhamdulillah, how times have changed! As Abū Khadeejah mentioned the other day in his speech after Jumu’ah, “Although they (Ahlul-Bid’ah) may hate it, the Salafīs are front and centre now!” Blessings upon blessings! We can’t thank Allāh enough for these affairs and must *keep striving to aid one another for the Sake of Allāh. Heartwarming to see new projects near completion and commutes getting stronger, may Allāh continue to bless our communities and keep us united upon the Sunnah. [end of quote]
May Allaah preserve our beloved brother Abu Maryam, preserve all the Maraakiz and teachers Aameen.
