Imaam Awzaa’ee–A person does not innovate except….

Imaam Al-Awzaa’ee (rahimahullaah) said:

”A man does not innovate (in the religion) except that he is deprived of his wara (i.e. that fear of Allaah keeping him away from doubtful matters or affairs he fears may ruin his afterlife)” [Siyar 7/125]

Advise to the Muslims in Britain, in Light of Recent Events in London

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

This is a portion from my conversation today with shaykhunaa (our shaykh), waalidunaa (our father) in Misr (Egypt), Hasan Abdul-Wahhaab Marzouq Al-Bannaa (May Allah preserve him and his family upon good).

I asked shaykhunaa a question pertaining to the recent unfortunate events which have occured in London, UK; in regards to two individuals killing an unarmed British soldier in broad daylight in the streets of London. Two individuals whom the media says are Muslims, and Allah is the Most Knowledgeable of all affairs. I informed shaykhunaa that one of the individuals is captured on video justifying what was done by using quotes from Allah’s book such as, “eye for eye and tooth for tooth”. I asked shaykhunaa, what is our position and what should we do in
regards to this unfortunate event?

Shaykhunaa, Hasan Al-Bannaa (may Allah preserve him upon good) said, it is a must that the believers unite in opposition to this dreadful event. The believers must come together and work together in opposing and rejecting this corrupt methodology.

These individuals speak in regards to this and that. They base their speech upon this and that, however, they do not understand Islaam correctly and are ignorant about correct Islaam. For people say the religion of Islaam is this or is that. Claims of the speech must be confirmed from what has been documented. It is obligatory that one affirms his speech upon that which is correct. The one who does this (speaking without true understanding) commits an error which is in opposition of the foundation of the religion and its branches. They hold on to these ideologies by saying this and that. They intend to harm the Salafis with this. They are in clear opposition of the foundation of the religion. They strive to harm and bring shame to the religion.

Shaykhunaa added that our brothers in Britain are to be aided and shown support; he mentioned Hasan As-Soomaali and Abu Khadeejah. They are aware of what is taking place.

This conversation occurred on May 30th, 2013; in correspondence to the Islaamic calendar date of 20th of Rajab, 1434.

[5] The Creed of the Saudi Kings

The reaction of King ‘Abdul-‘Azeez as-Su’ood upon being praised in lines of poetry.

Once, during one of King ‘Abdul-‘Azeez as-Su’ood’s (rahimahullaah) trips to the town of al-Kharj (7th of Dhul-Hijjah 1363AH -approx: 23rd November 1944CE) a poet from the people of Najd entered upon him. In his hand was a poem he had written, and so he sought permission from the King to read it out. He began: You are our hope and in you is hope… Upon hearing this King ‘Abdul-‘Azeez called out in rejection and glanced across the gathering to Shaykh Hamad al-Jaasir, saying, “O Ibn Jaasir, take this man and teach him some Tawheed!” [Source: Min Hayaatil-Malik ‘Abdil-‘Azeez, pg.71]

Shaikh Muhammad Bin Rabee on The Woolwich killing

Shaykh Muhammad Bin Rabee, Salafi Scholar of Madeenah, on the Woolwich Killing. Excerpt:

Islaam is free of this barbaric act. No [sound] intellect accepts this type of behaviour. This will do nothing but incite people who live in these lands to have hostility towards the Muslims.

Our Salaf: Abu Ubaidah said. ”There is no red or black skinned person amongst you….”

Thaabit Al-Bunaanee said: Abu Ubaidah said, ”O people! Indeed I am a person from Quraish. And there is no red or black skinned person amongst you who considers me to be more fearful of Allaah than him, except I wish that I am like him (because he humbled himself by considering me more virtuous) [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 1/81]

Our Salaf: Dahhaak–He used to weep when evening approached…..

Qabeesah Bin Qais Al-Anbaaree (rahimahullaah) said: When evening approached Dahhaak Bin Muzaahim used to weep; so he was asked:”What makes you weep?” He said: ”I do not know which of my deeds will be raised today (i.e. accepted by Allaah)” [Sifatus Safwa: 4/150]

Those Who Perform Righteous Deeds, Whilst Being Fearful….

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Aa’isha [radiyallaahu-anhaa] said: I ask the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) about this Ayah:

[وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ  – And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear] [23:60]; are they those who drink alcohol and commit theft?” He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ”O daughter of Siddeeq! Rather they are those who observe fasting, perform prayer and give charity, whilst fearing that their deeds will not be accepted from them.” [Reported by Imaam Tirmidee Number: 3175]

Hasan Al-Basri [rahimahullaah] said: ”The believer combines between perfection (in worship) and fear (that his deeds will be rejected); and the hypocrite combines between evil (deeds) and feeling safe from [Allaah’s punishment]” [Madaarij As-Saalikeen: 1/512]
