Shaykh Muhammad Bin Rabee, Salafi Scholar of Madeenah, on the Woolwich Killing. Excerpt:
Islaam is free of this barbaric act. No [sound] intellect accepts this type of behaviour. This will do nothing but incite people who live in these lands to have hostility towards the Muslims.

They (Yahya and his followers) are waging a war against the Salafis and Salafiyaah, and the people of innovation are relaxing and watching. Is this from good manners!?
We have remained patient for 7 years, whilst letters and complaints have reached us. And now you have to force him to change his ways. If he carries on upon his ways, it will cause an incomparable fitnah.
I have advised him many times, sometimes I advise him for two and half hours. He doesn’t listen! He promises but he doesn’t fulfill his promises. May Allaah bless you, and his students are extremists [ghulaat], with an extremism that has no equal.
Take the position of men with regards to him. He has harmed the people of Salafiyyah. There is no one more harmful than Yahya. Only Dammaj is left [considered Salafi] and all the centers are under the feet [nothing] except Dammaj.
Did he [Yahya] rebuke it*? Did he openly free himself from this speech? No! You people applaud him when he arrives at this extremism.
By Allaah, we have not seen this type of extremism from the people of innovation that we see from his students.
By Allaah, I am holding back from comparing him to some of the innovators that I have refuted in the past. All we hear is ‘Imam al-Thaqalayn…an-Nasihul Ameen [the sincere adviser]
Tell him that he is only a student and not an Alim. He is not a sincere adviser; he is not an Imam of anything. Tell him that he is just a student; tell him to fear Allaah and to join his brothers hand in hand – his brothers of Ahlul Sunnah. Tell him to leave this extremism and evil behaviour.
They heaviest thing on the scales on the Day of Judgement is good manners, so tell him to teach his students good manners and to have good manners himself. He will not get anywhere without it.
Student of Damaaj: “O’ Shaykh all that we have heard from you is praise for him. You called him and praised him…”Shaykh Rabee ibn Hadee al-Madkhalee: “By Allaah! Listen to me, by Allaah, I did not say this except that he claimed to have abandoned everything that he said and in order to bring him closer to us, and cause him to become gentle. But all we witnessed up until today are lies, deception and extremism. By Allaah, you see the extremism of the students there. There are no manners with them whatsoever. Go back and tell them this from me.
Is it permissible to seek knowledge from the people of innovation and to read their books due to the absence of the books of Ahlus-Sunnah in my country?
Answer:
All praise is due to Allaah; Ahlus-Sunnah are present and their books are present, however it is required of you to seek (knowledge) and to be eager, and do not depend on the people of innovation and the books of the innovators; do not depend on them because they are like the poisoned food that kills.
Is it from the sunnah for the one who enters the masjid to give the salaams whether there is anyone in it or not, because we heard that whoever enters the masjid it is a must that he gives salaams upon the angels?
Answer:
Give the salaams if someone is in it, (if) he sees someone in it then give the salaams. As for if the masjid is empty then there is no reason to give the salaams.
Virtuous Shaikh, may Allaah grant you success; if the Jinn speaks at the end of the ruqyah, should I ask him about the magic and who did it?
Answer: No, no do not ask him about the unseen and the magic. Tell him, ‘’Fear Allaah, get out of this person; fear Allaah and do not transgress against the Muslims’’. Advise him, (but) as for asking him to inform you about things, this is not permissible–this is seeking aid and assistance from the Jinn. Yes.
Virtuous Shaikh, which of the (two) is more virtuous- recitation of the Qur’an or an increase in supererogatory prayer?
Answer:
There is recitation of the Qur’an in supererogatory prayer–It includes prayer and recitation of the Qur’aan. It is more virtuous, because it includes recitation of the Qur’an. Yes.
Shaikh bin Baz was asked, “Is it permissible to talk to someone whilst in the middle of reciting the Qur’an?”
The shaikh answered, “We are not aware of any harm in that, however the fact that he continues in recitation and ponders and concentrates and his heart is focussed is superior rather than breaking off to speak to others, this is better unless there was a need to speak in which case he can do so and then return to his recitation, such as returning the salam upon the one who initiated it upon him, or repeating after the mu’adhin upon hearing the adhan, he remains silent during the adhan and repeats, or replying to the one who sneezes; such sunnah acts are befitting to be implemented by the believer and not to become slack in them. Similarly if he required to ask his family to do something or someone approached and made a request of him such that he must break off and respond etc, affairs of this nature there is no harm.
As for speech with no benefit in it then it is better to leave it in order to focus and concentrate on the recitation of the Qur’an, as Allah stated in surat Sad:29, the meaning of which is,“(This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember”, and it is known that speech with no benefit in it preoccupies the heart and weakens the ability to ponder and focus”.

Shaikh bin Baz رحمه الله was asked the following question: “Is it permissible to hold the mus’haf with the left hand?”
He replied, “I am not aware of anything regards to this, even though of course holding it with the right hand is better, the right is better generally, the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم would use his right hand for arranging his hair, giving and taking, shaking hands etc; as for the left then it is for other than that [i.e. cleaning oneself after answering the call of nature etc].
If though there was a need to hold the mus’haf with the left hand [whilst reciting or otherwise] due to the right hand becoming tired, or due to a need whereby the right hand was required to pick something up or do something, or something similar to such needs, then there is no harm in holding the mus’haf in the left inshaa’ Allah. So whether he placed it in the left or right and read would be ok, however no doubt the right is better and superior as the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم would use the right for the good affairs”.

Question:
Virtuous Shaikh May Allaah grant you success; some of the people ask me about the Islamic groups present in this era, what should I do—should I give them an answer or direct them to the scholars, bearing in mind that I am a teacher in one of the schools?
Answer:
Direct them to what has been transmitted in the Ahaadeeth and it is his (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) statement: ‘’This Ummah will split into seventy three sects and all of them are in the fire except one; so it was said: ‘’which one is it O Messenger of Allaah? He said: ‘’Those who are upon the likes of that which I and my companions are upon today’’. Direct them to this hadeeth, and say: Those who are upon that which the Messenger and his companions were upon—they are Ahlus Sunnah al-Jamaa-ah. Those who oppose them are the ones promised the hell-fire, (regardless) of whatever name they are called. It is not incumbent upon you (to know) their names, (rather) what is important (to know) are (their) opposition to the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah which the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and his companions were upon. Yes.
