Verse 22 Surah Luqman

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allah, The Most High, said:

And whosoever submits his face [himself] to Allah while he is a Muhsin [good doer], then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold [Laa ilaaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped except Allah)]. And to Allaah return all matters for decision. [Luqman. 22]

“And whosoever submits his face (himself) to Allah”

Meaning: This is the one who humbles and submits himself to Allah, sincerely carries out acts of worship and keeps away from what Allah has forbidden;

“while he is a good-doer”

Meaning: A good doer in the religion of Islam, who carries out acts of worship that have been legislated by Allah and in accordance with the authentic Sunnah of the Messenger, or that person who submits to Allah by carrying out legislated acts of worship in a manner as if he seed Allah, even though (that is not possible in this worldly life), but knows that Allah sees him, or that one who submits to Allah by fulfilling the rights of Allah and fulfils the rights of the people. All the above explanations mean the same thing, because the performers of these (righteous deeds) accept such deeds and perform them perfectly. However, the only difference between them is the (level of striving and sincerity of each person).

Therefore, whoever does this, then such a person has truly submitted to Allah and is one who has  ‘Grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold [i.e. that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah] that will make a person steadfast and lead (them) to safety – safeguards a person from destruction and lead to success through every path of good.

On the other hand, whoever does not submit to Allah willingly and is not a good doer based on the acts of worship legislated by Allah and are to be performed in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger, then indeed such a person has not grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And when it is case that such a person is not among those holding to this most trustworthy handhold, then indeed his end cannot be anything else but destruction.

“And to Allah return all matters for decision”.

Meaning: All matters will return to Allah, so that He judges between mankind and jinn, recompense them for their deeds and assign them their destinations [i.e. hell or paradise].

White Phosphorus!

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

And when you testify, be just, even if (it concerns) a near relative. [1]

When you testify by way of a statement to judge between people, differentiate between them in a discourse, and speak regarding matters and circumstances, be just in your speech, adhere to truthfulness regarding those you love and those you hate, be fair and do not conceal what needs to be made clear because it is forbidden and tantamount to injustice to divert (from justice and fairness) when speaking against the one you hate. [2]

To begin with, the mass murder in Gaza is not an accident; rather, it is the result of the actions of a Zionist/far-right administration that takes joy in annihilating innocent civilians in the name of collateral damage and self-defence. Likewise, no sane person would condone Hamas’s crimes against non-combatants and unarmed civilians. Read the article by Shaikh Abu Iyaad -may Allah preserve him.

https://abuiyaad.com/a/amalekite-genocide-doctrine-gazay

Second, Benjamin Netanyahu’s Zionist army was accused of using white phosphorous in Gaza nearly two years ago; however, they responded to this by saying:

“Currently we are not aware of the use of weapons containing white phosphorus in Gaza, but rather such a claim is unequivocally false”.

Recently – 9/3/26 – they are being accused again of using white phosphorus. Read below:

Description of White Phosphorus:

Whoever researches will come across the following:

Toxic and wax-like, white phosphorus burns at temperatures above 800 degrees Celsius (about 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit), hot enough to melt metal. White phosphorus is the material of choice for militaries to construct smokescreens because of its capacity to start quickly spreading fires and produce thick smoke over large distances which usually lingers for seven minutes. Weapons carrying white phosphorus are hard to put out; they will keep flaming until the phosphorous is completely burned or removed from contact with oxygen. White phosphorus contains compounds that, if absorbed by the body, can burn skin all the way down to the bone and cause malfunctions in the liver, kidneys, and heart, among other organs. There are two effects of the burns: the burn itself, which is typically quite deep and severe, has a local effect, and the second effect is metabolic, which can be fatal for the patients. Heart failure can be caused by abnormal potassium levels, which are a symptom of metabolic diseases. White phosphorus can rekindle if it comes into contact with the skin again since it is sticky and can adhere to a variety of surfaces, including clothing. Additionally, breathing in the fumes can be fatal, and they can cause significant eye irritation and light sensitivity.

Therefore, even if a person were to argue that “Phosphorus is no different from petrol reacting to a lighted match, and that what differentiates it from chemical weapons is that its reaction is not directed against the human physiology”, we ask them whether someone can claim not to be held liable if he pours petrol in another person’s house or city district and then throws a lighted match in the area, causing death and destruction?!

Can someone similarly argue that they should not be held accountable if they spread white phosphorous around a person’s home or city district and then set it on fire with firearms?! Rather, even if a person committed an act for which he truly deserves the death penalty under Islamic law, it would not be permissible to punish him through burning or fire. Imam Al-Bukhari, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

“Chapter: Not to punish with Allah’s punishment”. Ikrimah reported that Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn Abbaas, who said, “Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, ‘Don’t punish (anybody) with Allah’s Punishment”. [Al-Bukhari 3017]

As a result, it makes no difference whether white phosphorous is permitted by anyone regardless of their expertise because only the final infallible divine revelation – The Qur’an and authentic Sunnah – as understood and implemented by the Sahaabah is the source through which what should be considered lawful or unlawful during military conflict is decided, not the views of any war-monger, war-criminal, racist or organisation that seeks victory for its allies at any cost or exclusively on the basis of “the ends justify the means.” Therefore, we wait for a Fatwa from the Senior Salafi Scholars that justify the use of this chemical!

Third, the Zionist military cannot deny the fact that it has used white phosphorus in the past as stated in the Jerusalem Post as follows:

However, as for the recent claims – [the specific events after 7/10/23 and 9/3/26] -that Netanyahu’s army of Zionists are using it again, this is still being investigated, so we’ll wait for the reliable and unbiased investigators and experts – among Muslims and non-Muslims – to produce a final report. We neither negate nor affirm until the matter is finalised, but what remains a fact is that they did use white phosphorus in the past.

Finally, every oppressor who uses these barbaric methods reminds us of what has been stated in Surah Al-Buruj. Allah said:

Cursed were the People of the Ditch, (the large ditch with) the fire, given fuel (in abundance). While they were sat over it (watching those whom they punished by burning). [3]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

This is the greatest type of tyranny and heart-heartedness because they combined disbelief in Allah’s Ayaat and wilful opposition to them, waging war against its adherents and torturing them with this torment that is the extremely heart-breaking, whilst they are present and throwing them into it. And the fact is that they did not take revenge on the believers except due to a characteristic for which they are praised, and by way of which they attain happiness (in this life and the next), which is that they believed in Allah. [4]

Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymin, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

“They saw the fire burning these people while sitting and joking as if nothing was happening, and Allah’s protection is sought (against this behaviour). This is tyranny that a person sees a human being burnt with fire while he reclines on his couch and is distracted by the conversation and does not care”. [5]

We ask Allah:

The Daily Manifestation of Iblees’s Heinous Plots Within Human Behaviour

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Verily, I will mislead them, and surely, I will arouse false desires in them; and certainly, I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah.” And whoever takes Shaitan (Satan) as a Wali (protector or helper) instead of Allah, has surely suffered a manifest loss. [An-Nisaa 119]

“Verily, I will mislead them”– Meaning, from the truth.

“And surely, I will arouse false desires in them”.

Ibn Abbas said, “Iblees desires to hinder them from repentance and that they delay it”. [1]

“I will order them to slit the ears of cattle”.

Meaning, cut off the ears of the cattle.

“And indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah”.

Ibn Abbas said: “Iblees intends by this the religion of Allah. And the meaning is that Allah created His slaves upon an upright fitrah (i.e. an upright natural disposition that enables them to recognise Him, accept the call of the messengers when it reaches them and worship Him alone), as He, The Most High, said:

So set you (O Muhammad) your face towards the religion of true Monotheism- Hanifa (worship none but Allah Alone)- Allah’s Islamic Monotheism with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in the Religion of Allah’s Islamic Monotheism, that is the straight religion, but most men know not.

(Always) Turning in repentance to Him (only), and be afraid and dutiful to Him]. [Ar-Rum. 30-31]

And this is why the Prophet said: “Every child is born on a Fitrah [a natural disposition to recognise Allah, accept the call of the messengers when it reaches them and worship Allaah alone], but their parents convert them to (abrogated) Judaism, (abrogated) Christianity or (the polytheism of) Magianism, as an animal gives birth to a perfect baby animal, do you find it mutilated?!” Abu Hurairah- after narrating this hadith- recited the verse:

“Allah’s Islamic Monotheism, with which He has created mankind”.

Thus, the Prophet mentioned two matters: alteration of the sound natural disposition through (abrogated) Judaism and Christianity, and alteration of the natural physical appearance of the creation through mutilation.

They are two things that iblees said he must change- alteration of the natural disposition (through) incitement towards disbelief and alteration of the natural physical appearance through mutilation. He changes the sound innate natural disposition through incitement to Shirk and alteration of the natural appearance through cutting and mutilation. One is alteration of the sound innate natural disposition of the soul and the other is alteration of the natural appearance of the creation. [2]

Allah, The Most High, said:

(Iblis) said: “Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You).” 7-16-17]

“Then I will come to them from before them and behind them”.

Meaning, “I will bring doubts to them about the Hereafter”.

“And behind them”.

Meaning, “I will make them covetous for the worldly things”.

“And from their right”.

Meaning: “I will make their religion obscure (by making them hold onto doubtful matters which they would consider to be the truth)”.

“And from their left”.

Meaning, “I will command them to commit evil deeds, urge them toward it and beautify it in their eyes”.

It has also been reported from Ibn Abbas who said that Iblees did not say, “And from above them” because he knows that Allah is above them. Qatadah said, “O son of Adam! Shaytan comes to you from every direction but not from above because he is not able to come between you and the Mercy of Allah”. [3]

The Idol (Ba’l), Shaytan and Noble Prophet Ilyas

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Idol Ba’l and Shaytan, The State of The Children of Israel After The Demise of Prophet Hizqeel and The Advent of Prophet Ilyas

Allah, The Most High, said:

And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. When he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? Will you call upon Ba’l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators- Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), except the chosen slaves of Allah. And We left for him (a good remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; Salamun (peace) be upon Ilyasin (Elias)! Verily, thus do We reward the good-doers; Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. [[Surah As-Saffaat 123-132]

Ba’l (the Idol): It was said that it was made of gold, measuring twenty cubits in length, and had four faces. They were beguiled and misled through it, They exalted it to the extent that they appointed four hundred custodians to serve it, and made them prophets. Shaytan used to enter Ba’l’s interior and uttered misguided legislation, then the custodians would memorise and teach it to the people. They are the people of Ba’labek within the lands of Greater Syria and their city was named after it. [1]

After the death of Prophet Hizqeel, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, major (troubling) events took place among the Children of Israel and they forgot what Allah had obligated to them, until they adopted idols and worshipped them besides Allah. So, Allah sent to them Ilyas, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as a prophet. The prophets, peace be upon them, sent to the Children of Israel after Musa, peace be upon him, revived what had been forgotten from the Torah. [2]

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:

“Bani Isra’eel used to be ruled and guided by prophets. Whenever a prophet died, another would take over his place. There will be no prophet after me, but there will be Caliphs who will increase in number.” The people asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! What do you order us (to do)?” He said, “Obey the one who will be given the pledge of allegiance first. Fulfil their (i.e. the Caliphs) rights, for Allah will ask them about (any shortcoming) in ruling those Allah has put under their guardianship.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari 3455]

Imam Ibn Hajr, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

“Whenever corruption appeared amongst them, Allah sent a Prophet to rectify their affairs and put an end to that which they changed in the rulings of the Torah”. [3]

Prophet Ilyas, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was associated with a king of the Children of Israel named Ahab, whose wife’s name was Arbel. He used to give an attentive ear to Ilyas and believed him, and Ilyas used to look after his affairs. However, the rest of the Children of Israel had adopted an idol named Ba’l which they worshipped besides Allah.

The kings were scattered throughout Greater Syria, and every king ruled over a part of it. One day, the king who was associated with Prophet Ilyas, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to him: “O Ilyas! I swear by Allah that I see nothing regarding what you call to but falsehood. I do not see so-and-so and so-and-so – naming kings from the kings of Israel who worshipped idols – except that they are like us, partaking in food and drink, and enjoying their ruler-ships. Their affairs, which you claim are false, have not lessened their worldly possessions and we do not consider ourselves superior over them”. It is said- and Allah knows best – that Ilyas said: “Innaa Lil-laahi Wa Innaa Ilayhi Raji’un” and his hair and skin bristled; then he rejected what the king said and left him. The king then did what the other kings did by worshipping idols and acted how they acted. Ilyas then said: “O Allah! Indeed, the children of Israel have refused (to follow Tawhid), instead they disbelieve in You, worship  other than You and being ungrateful for the blessings bestowed upon them. [4]

The scholars of Tafseer and history mentioned that when many (troubling) events occurred after the death of Prophet Ḥizqeel, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and idols were worshipped, so, Allah sent Ilyas, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He began calling them to the path of Allah, but they did not listen to him. He supplicated to Allah against them that rain be withheld, thus, they suffered greatly. He hid himself out of fear for his own life. One day, he reminded them that what has afflicted them, their livestock and plants is due to their sins, and that if they think that what they are upon is true, invoking their idols would not bring them relief. They invoked their idols but received no relief. They realised their error and asked him to supplicate to Allah for them. He supplicated for them, thus, Allah sent rain and their lands prospered. However, they did not abandon the path they were upon. [5]

Reality of the Rafidah – By Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan and Al-Allamah Rabee

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, was asked:

Is it correct that the first to innovate the path of the Raafidah was Abdullah Ibn Saba – a Yahudi?

Response:

Yes, without a doubt. The Rafidah or the Shiites in general are of two types: The Shiites from the fire worshipers and the Shiites from the Yahud. They hide behind Islam to corrupt it. The Yahud plotted through Abdullah Ibn Sabah and the first thing he began with was to ignite fitnah against Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him. Listen below:

https://safeshare.tv/x/krhxTksllR

Al-Allamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Madkhali, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked:

Our Shaikh, may Allah preserve you. The questioner says: What is the ruling on the common people of the Rawafid and how do we deal with them?

Answer:

The questioner differentiates between the common people and other than them. This is a good approach. The common people who neither speak ill of the wives of Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, nor do they declare the companions to be disbelievers, nor do they believe that the Qur’an is distorted; however, they have some Rafd [i.e. beliefs of the rafidah] and some hatred for the companions without declaring them disbelievers and what is similar to (these deeds), these ones are misguided innovators in religious matters and we do not declare them disbelievers. (But) whoever joins their heretics in declaring the companions of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to be disbelievers, speaking ill of the wives of Allah’s Messenger, and the filthy belief that the Qur’an has been distorted, and that there is an addition and deficiency in it, this (person) is a disbeliever similar to the disbelievers of the Yahud and Nasara. There is no distinction between their common people and their scholars (in this affair).

Question: How do we deal with them?

Answer: If dealing with them is with regards to a worldly affair—business transactions and what is similar to that— it is permissible to trade with a Yahudi, a Nasrani and a Rafidi. However, as for co-operating with them in issues of religion, no.

Do not help one another in sin and transgression. [5:2]

Rather their scholars and callers are boycotted and they are warned against.

This Zionist Invents a Lie Against Allah Through Abrogated and Altered Scriptures

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Ayat (proofs, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.)? Verily, the Zalimun (disbelievers in Allah and His Final Messenger) shall never be successful. [Al-An’aam. 21]

When critically questioned about stealing Palestinian land, blazing Zionist Naftali Bennett said that “the land belongs to Israel, the bible says that the land belongs to Israel-the Jewish people! Change the bible first, millions of Muslims, Jews, and Christians believe in the bible”.

Response

First, the absurd claim of this blazing Zionist is based on a previous Scripture that does not have the authority to pass any judgment without the approval of the final revelation- The Qur’an and the Sunnah. Allah said:

And We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) the Book (this Quran) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and Mohayminan [trustworthy in highness and a witness] over it [old Scriptures (by confirming what has not been abrogated in the old scriptures and abrogating what is found in the old Scriptures that opposes what is in the Qur’an). [a]

So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging away from the truth that has come to you. To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way. If Allah willed, He would have made you one nation, but that (He) may test you in what He has given you; so strive as in a race in good deeds. The return of you (all) is to Allah; then He will inform you about that in which you used to differ. [Al-Maa’idah. Ayah 48]

Second, the Zionist rely on Christians (priests, monks etc) who inherited a distorted path. Allah, The Most High, said about the misguided ones among the Christian leaders:

And from those who say, “We are Christians” We took their covenant, but they forgot [by way of knowledge and deeds (b)] a portion of that of which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used to do. [Al-Maa’dah. 14]

Third, is this Zionist a descendant of Prophet Yaqub, peace be upon him?! Read below:

Excessive Speech

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, started:

This is one of the first corruption due to excessive speech. If a person’s speech is too much without remembrance of Allah, it hardens his heart because he’ll be heedless of the remembrance of Allah.

Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism) to be affected by Allah’s Reminder (this Qur’an), and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] before, and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Then, after that, your hearts were hardened and became as stones or even worse in hardness. [Al-Baqarah 74]

The heart hardens, even though it is a soft (piece) of meat, but, it can harden or get even worse until it becomes harder than stones. This has been mentioned based on Qur’aanic text:

Then, after that, your hearts were hardened.

This was after the children of Israel witnessed the great lesson (or sign) regarding the murdered person who was brought back to life, which should have softened the hearts but they did not benefit from it.

Then, after that, your hearts were hardened and became as stones or even worse in hardness. And indeed, there are stones out of which rivers gush forth, and indeed, there are of them (stones) which split asunder so that water flows from them, and indeed, there are of them (stones) which fall down for fear of Allah]. [Al-Baqarah 74]

Therefore, if you want to soften your heart, abandon excessive speech and busy yourself with the remembrance of Allah, for indeed that will soften your heart. [1]

The Shaikh also stated:

It is obligated to a person to restrain their tongue from excess speech. They should not make their tongue tired and wasting time, instead one should be engaged in remembrance of Allah because profuse remembrance of Allah is good if that is done through at-Tasbeeh [uttering ( سبحان الله), at-Tahleel [uttering (لاإله إلا الله ), at-Takbeer [uttering (الله اكبر), teaching beneficial knowledge, calling to the path of Allah and giving admonitions. This is the means through which Allah raises the status (of a person) and a tree planted for them in paradise. An increase in remembrance of Allah has no limits. Whenever it is possible for you to increase, then increase in remembrance of Allah.

Remember Allah with much remembrance. [Al-Ahzaab 41]

And remember the Name of Allah much (both with tongue and mind), so that you may be successful. [ Al-Anfaal 45]

From the signs of Iman is to remember Allah a lot and from the signs of hypocrisy is to remember Allah very little. Allah stated about the hypocrites:

And when they stand up for As-Salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen of men, and they do not remember Allah but little. [Al-Nisaa 142]

Little remembrance of Allah is from the signs of hypocrisy and remembering Allah a lot is from the signs Iman. So if you want to speak a lot, let it be through remembrance of Allah, let it be through at-Tasbeeh [uttering ( سبحان الله), at-Tahleel [uttering (لاإله إلا الله ), at-Takbeer [uttering (الله اكبر), At-Tahmeed [uttering (الحمد لله ), recitation of the Qur’an and this is the best of Dhikr, by way of teaching beneficial knowledge, bringing about reconciliation between the people, giving admonitions, enjoining good and forbidding evil. There are many opportunities for remembering Allah (The Mighty and Majestic). [1]

And when they stand up for As-Salat (the prayer), they stand with laziness and to be seen by men, and they do not remember Allah but little. [Al-Nisaa 142]

Among their characteristics is that when they stand up for prayer, and if they offer the prayer, which is the greatest physical act of obedience to Allah, they stand with laziness, with lack of enthusiasm and being uneasy. “And to be seen by men”, this is what their hearts conceal and is the initial reason behind their deeds, to be seen by men. They intend to be seen by men, praised and honoured, but not out of carrying out acts of worship sincerely for Allah. Due to this, they do not remember Allah but a little because their hearts are filled with Riya. For indeed remembrance of Allah and what it necessitates cannot be (established) except by a believer whose heart is filled with love for Allah and His Greatness. [2]

Two Inevitable Reflections in the Face of Useless Conflicts Initiated by Corrupt Creed Advocates and Wealth Worshippers

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, stated:

A longing for the afterlife can only be fulfilled by refraining from the superfluous pleasures of the worldly life, and this abstention from such pleasures can be realised solely through two types of contemplation.

The First Contemplation: Reflect on the worldly life its fleeting nature, disappearance, inherent inferior status, hassles, ordeals, frustrations and troubles, and finally a conclusion marked by loss and remorse. Thus, the individual pursuing such a life finds no protection from sorrow, both prior to and following its acquisition, nor after it has faded away. This constitutes the first reflection.

The Second Contemplation: Reflect on the Afterlife- its proximity, its inevitable arrival, its permanence, the dignity of the goodness and joy it encompasses, and the distinctions between it and this worldly life, as Allah, Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections, said:

Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. [Al-A’laa. 17]

It is perfect and everlasting, whereas the (worldly life) is deficient and transient.

If a person accomplishes these two reflections, they will naturally favour what sound reasoning dictates and avoid what should be reliquished. No one who is inclined to forgo an immediate gain and a readily available pleasure can do so unless their aspiration for something greater and more virtuous is more compelling, and the merits of the anticipated virtue are evident when compared to the immediate gratification. If an individual chooses what is deficient and will (ultimately) face extinction, it may be due to either the absence of awareness regarding the merits of the afterlife or a deficiency in the desire for that which is more virtuous. Both scenarios reflect a weakness in Iman, intellect, and discernment. This is because the person who desires the worldly life, prioritises it over the temporal world and is eager for it, either acknowledges the existence of something more virtuous and eternal or he does not acknowledge it. Should he choose not to acknowledge, he is entirely devoid of Iman. And if he does acknowledge but fails to prioritise it, his reasoning is flawed, and he has made a poor decision for himself. These two are inescapable, as a servant of Allah cannot evade them. Prioritising the worldly life over the hereafter stems either from a deficiency in Iman or corruption of intellect, and often, both issues coexist within (an individual). As a result, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, along with his companions, distanced themselves from the worldly things (which one can do without) and redirected their hearts away from them. The Prophet said:

“What is the world to me? What am I to the world? Verily, the example of this world and myself is that of a rider who seeks shade under a tree, then he moves on and leaves it behind”. [Ahmad 3701]

The Prophet said:

“What is the example of this worldly life in comparison to the Hereafter other than one of you dipping his finger in the sea? Let him see what he brings forth”. [Muslim 2858]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Verily the likeness of (this) worldly life is as the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, so by it arises the intermingled produce of the earth of which men and cattle eat until when the earth is clad with its adornments and is beautified, and its people think that they have all the powers of disposal over it, Our Command reaches it by night or by day and We make it like a clean-mown harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday! Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, laws, etc.) in detail for the people who reflect. Allah calls to the home of peace (i.e. Paradise, by accepting Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds and abstaining from polytheism and evil deeds) and guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. [Yunus 24-25]

Allah, The Most High, said:

And put forward to them the example of the life of this world, it is like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green. But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And Allah is Able to do everything. Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of Allah’s obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of Allah with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope. [Al-Kahf. 45-46]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment, and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure, whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment. [Al-Hadid 57]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world’s life; but Allah has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers, etc.) with Him. Say: “Shall I inform you of things far better than those? For the pious there are Gardens (Paradise) with their Lord, underneath which rivers flow. Therein (is their) eternal (home) and Azwajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), And Allah will be pleased with them. And Allah is All-Seer of the (His) slaves”. [Aal Imran. 14-15]

Allah, The Most High, said:

And they rejoice in the life of the world, whereas the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter is but a brief passing enjoyment. [Ar-Rad. 26]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Verily, those who hope not for their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present world, and those who are heedless of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.); Those, their abode will be the Fire, because of what they used to earn. [Yunus 78]

Allah, The Most High, said:

O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allah you cling heavily to the earth? [Footnote a] Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter. [at-Tawbah. 38]

Allah, The Most High, said:

Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years; And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. [Ash-Shu’ara 205-207]

Allah, The Most High, said:

And on the Day when He shall gather (resurrect) them together, (it will be) as if they had not stayed (in the life of this world and graves, etc.) but an hour of a day. They will recognise each other. [Yunus 45]

Allah, The Most High, said:

On the Day when they will see that (torment) with which they are promised (i.e. threatened, it will be) as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. (O mankind! This Qur’an is sufficient as) a clear Message (or proclamation to save yourself from destruction). But shall any be destroyed except the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah)]. [Al-Ahqaf. 35]

Allah, The Most High, said:

They ask you (O Muhammad) about the Hour, – when will be its appointed time? You have no knowledge to say anything about it; To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof? You (O Muhammad) are only a warner for those who fear it; The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning. [An-Nazi’at’. 42-46]

Allah, The Most High, said:

And on the Day that the Hour will be established, the Mujrimun will swear that they stayed not but an hour. [Ar-Rum. 55]

Allah, The Most High, said:

He (Allah) will say: “What number of years did you stay on earth?” They will say: “We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account.” He (Allah) will say: “You stayed not but a little, if you had only known! [Al-Mu’munun 112-114]

Allah, The Most High, said:

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown (the second blowing): that Day, We shall gather the Mujrimun, (criminals) Zurqa (blind or thirsty); In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): “You stayed not longer than ten (days).” We know very well what they will say, when the best among them in knowledge and wisdom will say: “You stayed no longer than a day!” [Taha. 102-104]

Allah’s Aid is sought and upon Him we place our reliance!

Verses 53-54 Surah An-Nur

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, said:

They swear by Allah their strongest oaths, that if only you would order them, they would leave [their homes for fighting in Allah’s Cause]. Say: ‘’Swear you not; [this] obedience [of yours] is known [to be false]. Verily, Allah knows well what you do.’’ Say: ‘’Obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he [Messenger Muhammad] is only responsible for the duty placed on him [i.e. to convey Allah’s Message] and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance. The Messenger’s duty is only to convey [the message] in a clear way [i.e. to preach in a plain way].’’ [An-Nur 53-54]

Allah, The Most High, informs us of the situation of those hypocrites who stayed behind and did not join the Messenger in Jihad [Footnote a] – those in whose hearts there is a disease and their Iman is weak– that they swore by Allah that if they are commanded in the future to go out for Jihad, they will do so; but Allah rebutted them saying:

Swear you not…

Meaning: Neither are we in need of your oath nor your excuses, for indeed Allah has informed us about you, and your (claim) of obedience is well known, not hidden from us. Even without giving an excuse, this sluggishness and laziness of yours is known to us. Therefore, your oath and excuse is nothing really; rather the one in need of that is a person whose affair may be (justified) and his situation is ambiguous, thus, maybe such excuse will benefit and absolve them of accountability. As for yourselves, your excuses and oaths do not count; rather what is feared for you is Allah’s punishment and due to this Allah threatened them, saying:

Verily, Allah knows well what you do.

Meaning: Allah will recompense you fully in accordance with this state of yours.

As for the Messenger, his duty is only to give you commands and prohibitions, and due to this Allah said:

Say: “Obey Allah and obey the Messenger..

But if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allah’s Message) and you are (held accountable) for that which is placed on you…

Meaning: If you turn away, then indeed he has already conveyed what has been obligated to him with regards to the message and has fulfilled it, “And you are (held accountable) for that which is placed on you” with regards to obedience, then your situation will become clear and manifest -your misguidance and deviation – and you deserve punishment.

And if you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance..

Meaning: You will be guided to the straight path- in speech and deeds- and you have no other path to guidance except through obedience to Allah and His Messenger. And without (obedience to Allah and the Messenger), it is impossible to be guided.

The Messenger’s duty is only to convey (the message) in a clear way (i.e. to preach in a plain way).

Meaning: Clearly conveyed the message to you in a manner that leaves neither doubt nor ambiguity for anyone. The Messenger has clearly conveyed the message and Allah is the only one who will call you to account and recompense you. The Messenger has no authority over reward or punishment after fulfilling his responsibility. [1]

Salafi Shaikh Fawzaan on Jihad in our times and the guidelines of Jihad according to Islam

[1] An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi Tayseer. Slightly paraphrased

When you decide to speak, do it honestly and clearly

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Most High, says:

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [Al-Baqarah 42]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

He (Allah) prohibits mixing truth with falsehood and concealing (truth). Mixing truth with falsehood is to confound truth with falsehood until one of them is confused for the other, and from this (results) deception, fraudulent maneuver, and cheating whose underlying reality contradicts the outward appearance. Similarly, when the truth is cloaked in falsehood, the perpetrator manifests falsehood in the image of truth and utters a wording that carries two meanings—a correct meaning and a false one, thus the listener may mistakenly think that the perpetrator intended the correct meaning, while his actual intent is falsehood. This is Ijmaal Fil Lafdh [general, unrestricted  wording (or speech)]. As for ambiguity in meaning, it can manifest in two ways; one of which is truth while the other is false; its correct intended aspect is misconstrued, thus its intended meaning becomes false. The basis of Bani Adam’s misguidance lies in general wordings and ambiguous meanings, particularly when they encounter confused minds; so how about when accompanied by vain desires and fanatism? Therefore, ask the One (Allah) Who keeps the hearts steadfast to keep your heart steadfast in the religion He has ordained, and not allow you to fall into this darkness. [1]

If the speaker falls short in his clarification and addresses the listener with vague terms that may encompass various interpretations, and the listener remains uncertain of the intended meaning; if this arises from the speaker’s inability, the listener is given from the speaker’s inability rather than his intent. If the speaker possesses the ability and he does not do so while it is obligated to him to do so, he gives the listener from his evil intent. [2]

Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, as follows:

It is incumbent that the expression conveys the intended meaning through the appropriate terminology. Should the term be explicit or evident, the objective is achieved. However, if the term possesses dual interpretations—one valid and the other erroneous—the intended meaning must be clarified. In instances where the term suggests a flawed interpretation, it should only be employed with an explanation that mitigates any potential misunderstanding.

Furthermore, if the term may mislead certain listeners into grasping an incorrect meaning, it should not be used if it is known to carry such implications, as the primary aim of communication is clarity and understanding. Conversely, if the term accurately reflects the intended meaning but some individuals remain unaware of its significance without any negligence on the speaker’s part, the responsibility lies with the listener, not the speaker”.
