Signs of a Sound Heart and a Sick Heart – Shaykh Rabī

‎إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
Except him who brings to Allāh a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifāq (hypocrisy)]. Ash-Shu’ara:89

Shaykh Rabī ibn Hādi Al-Madkhalī (hafidahullāh):

Ponder, is your heart sound?

What is the sound heart?

The sound heart is that which fights Shirk and rejects falsehood, it accepts the truth and refutes falsehood with all its might, this is the sound heart. So, if you notice that you accept the truth from whoever brings it to you (you accept the truth; the truth guides you and your goal is the truth) then by Allāh your heart and intellect is sound.

What is the sick heart?

And, if you realise that you reject the truth when it comes to you from a certain direction, and you accept falsehood when it comes from another direction and you behave as if it is the truth; then know that your heart is sick.

Can You Take Benefit from Those who Oppose the Salafi Methodology – Shaykh Rabī

Shaykh Rabī ibn Hādi ʿUmayr al-Madkhalī [ḥafidahullāh] was asked: Is it permissible for us to listen to the audio [lectures of the] Hizbees?

He [ḥafidahullāh] answered: No, do not listen to the audio [lectures] of the hizbees, because their harm is much greater than their benefit. Seek benefit from the Book of Allāh, the Sunnah of Allāh’s Messenger [alayhis ṣalātu was salām], the books and audio [lectures] of the scholars of the Sunnah.

[That is] because the people of desires insert and conceal their poison in such a way that it is not noticed, except by the intelligent ones [i.e. the scholars and experienced students]. As for the Masākīn [i.e. those whose knowledge is very limited] amongst the smaller students of knowledge and the general folk, then verily this hidden poison has an effect on their intellects and against them, in ways they do not perceive.

Therefore, let there be great caution against listening to the people of bidah and the people [who are ascribed] to those groups that have deviated from Allah’s True Methodology; and they [ḥizbīs, the people of bidah etc] warn against the books that[propagate the sound creed, methodology etc] and the books that [propagate the authentic] Sunnah, so how can we call to their books and the lectures [in their audio tapes]?!

Allāh Exposes the Pretenders to the Sunnah – Shaykh Ubayd al-Jābirī

Shaykh Ubayd al-Jābirī (hafidahullah):

As for a person who is upon misguidance and he presents himself as if he is upon the Sunnah (to cover up his misguidance), then indeed Allāh will expose him, unmask him and remove his covering.

For how many misguided individuals have there been, presenting a good beautiful attractive face, using the Book and Sunnah as evidence for that, then afterwards Allāh exposes him because he is a habitual liar and is not upon the Sunnah outwardly or inwardly.

Reflection: The Conditional Promise Before a Return to Strength and Authority

Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

Is Your Heart Hard and Unresponsive

Mālik ibn Dīnar (rahimahullāh) said:

“A servant is not afflicted with a punishment greater than hardness of the heart. “ (1)

Whoever Says This Supplication Three Times- Morning and Evening- Will Not Be Afflicted By a Sudden Affliction By The Will of Allaah

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Abaan ibn ‘Uthmaan [radiyallaahu-anhu] said: I heard Uthmaan -meaning, Ibn Affaan, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] saying: “Whoever says:

[بِسْم الله الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اِسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّماَءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ – In the Name of Allaah with Whose Name nothing can harm on the earth or in the heaven, and He is The All-Hearing, All-Knowing], three times, will not be afflicted with a sudden affliction until morning; and whoever says it three times in the morning, will not be afflicted with a sudden affliction until evening.

The Means to a Loving Relationship and Strong Bond Between Husband and Wife- By Shaikh Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah]

Shaikh Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said: If a person says: What will make a man love his wife and vice versa? We say: Allaah has clarified this in His statement:

وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ

And live with them honourably. [Soorah An-Nisaa’ Aayah 19]

If every person lives with his wife honourably and vice versa, then love, a strong bond and a happy married life will be established.

[Fataawaa Noor Alad-Darb 6/29. Abridged]

2 Ahadeeth on Compassion Towards Our Wives

The Prophet (sallahualayhiwasallam) said:

“The best of you are those who are the best to their wives; and I am the best of you to my wives.” (Tirmidhi 3895. Declared authentic by Imaam Albaani in Sahih at-Tirmidhi)

The Prophet (sallahualayhiwasallam) said:

“You never spend anything, except that you will be rewarded for it; even the morsel of food that you lift to your wife’s mouth” (Bukhaari 6352 & Muslim 1628)

Characteristics of the Khawaarij – Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan

Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan (hafidahullah) was asked:

Is there present in this present time, those who carry the ideology of the Khawaarij (renegades)?

He (Hafidahullah) replied:

“Yaa Subhaanallah (Far removed is Allah from every imperfection)! This is present right now, are these not the actions of the Khawaarij?

Excommunicating Muslims (from Islaam) and worse than that, killing of Muslims; attacking them with bombs; this is the methodology of the Khawaarij.

And it comprises of three affairs:

Firstly: Excommunicating Muslims from Islaam.

Secondly: Exiting from obedience of the (Muslim) ruler.

Thirdly: Making permissible the blood of the Muslims. (i.e. allowed to kill them).

This is the methodology of the Khawaarij and even if an individual only believes this in his heart, and does not speak about it, nor act on it, he has still become a Khaarijee (renegade), due to his Aqeedah and opinions, which have not been openly expressed by him.”(1)

(1) Shaykul Islaam ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah) said about the characteristics of the Khawaarij:

“Then indeed there is none more harmful upon the Muslims than them; neither the Jews nor the Christians; for indeed they strived in killing every Muslim that did not agree with their view, declaring the blood of Muslims, their wealth and slaying of their children lawful, whilst making takfeer of them, due to their ignorance and innovations that caused to stray.” Minhaaj As-Sunnah 248/5

Majority of the following is from a translation of our Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah (hafidahullah)

Imaam Al-Aajuree (rahimahullah) said:

“Neither the scholars of old nor of these times, ever differed about the Khawārij. They regarded them as an evil people who were disobedient to Allāh, the Mighty and Majestic, and His Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) even though they prayed, fasted and exerted themselves in worship, and all of this was of no benefit to them, even though they were apparent in enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, and that did not benefit them because they are a people who interpret the Qur’aan based on what they desire and they bring extreme difficulty upon the Muslims. Verily Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam); the rightly guided caliphs; the companions and those who followed them in goodness, (Allah’s mercy on them) warned us from them.” Ash-Sharee’ah 325/1
