Hiding Knowledge – Are you guilty or ignorant?
The wise ones said:
Whoever hides knowledge, it is as if he is ignorant of it.

Our Salaf: The Importance of Knowlwdge–Ash’shabee (rahimahullaah)
Ash’shabee (rahimahullaah) said:
”If a man were to travel from the furthest parts of Shaam to the furthest part of Yemen in order to listen to a wise statement, I would not have seen his journey as a waste.”
[Jaami Bayaan Al-Ilm: 1/189]
To the Salafi students of knowledge–Ignore the restless envious ones
A Poet said:
Exercise patience with the plots of the envious one, for indeed your patience kills him;
The fire consumes some of itself when it does not find something to consume.
We seek Allaah’s protection from those whose lives are consumed with envy and restlessness–those who constantly seek to find fault with those young students of knowledge who are busy transmitting the works of the scholars at Al-Markaz As-Salafi and else where.
[a] Our Salaf and their fear of the consequences of death–Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu)
When death approached Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) he cried; so he was asked: ”What makes you cry?” He said: ”After isolation, the scarcity of provisions (for the hereafter by way of good deeds) and a major obstacle (i.e. the questioning in the grave and the standing on the day of judgment), then the place of descent will either be paradise or hell.” [Source: Sifatus Safwa 1/694]
The Signs of Repentance–Shaqeeq Al-Balkhiy (rahimahullaah)
Shaqeeq Al-Balkhiy (rahimahullaah) said:
”The signs of repentance are: [a] Weeping over what has preceded (of sins); [b] fear of falling into sin, [c] keeping way from evil companions; [d] and accompanying the good people.

Sense of Humour – What is the name of Iblees’ wife?
A man asked Shabee (rahimahullaah)
“What is the name of Iblees’ wife?”
Shabee replied “We have not witnessed that marriage.”

Benefits from Shaykh Hasan Marzooq Al-Banna -حفظه الله-

Inshaa Allah we will share some advice and benefits taken from tonight’s lesson on the 20th night of Safar 1434 corresponding with the 1st of January 2013, with Shaykh Hasan Marzooq Al-Banna -حفظه الله و جزاه الله خيرا-
The Shaykh -حفظه الله- said:
"Fear Allah and have Taqwa of Allah regardless of where you are, and not just when you are in the Masjid, just as the Messenger of Allah said:
“Fear Allah where ever you are”
Saheeh Al Jaami’ As Sagheer Al Albani
The Shaykh -حفظه الله-
was asked what harms and prevents a student of knowledge attaining ilm; from his answers the Shaykh said
“Bad mannerisms and laziness in acts of worship”
The Shaykh -حفظه الله- answered a question pertaining to the UK and after consultation, told the people to refer back to Al-Athariyyah and Al-Masjid As-Sunnah in London, Al Masjid As-Salafi in Birmingham and Al Markaz As-Salafi in Manchester.
A brother said I have not studied Islamic knowledge for a long time where should i start?
(Paraphasing) The Shaykh -حفظه الله-replied:
Begin with the Usool, study the likes of Al-Usool Ath-Thalaatha and Al-Qawaaidul Arba’a and Al-Usool As-Sitta, start with the small books which will strengthen and build your foundations and give you the Usool that you need.
The final benefit we will mention is that
the Shaykh -حفظه الله- said:
“The Truth is One, The Usool (of Ahlul-Sunnah) are one and they do NOT change.”
Patience makes a person firm – Shaykh Fawzaan

“Patience is that which makes a person firm upon the religion as for the person who does not have patience then this (one) is not firm upon the religion.”
