Moderation (The Middle Path) and Sunniyyah – brief dialogue with Alan Rosenbaum

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah said:

O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad SAW) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light (Prophet Muhammad) and a plain Book (this Quran). Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way (Islamic Monotheism). [Al-Ma’idah 15-16]

In this article, our focus is not on politics, as that falls under the purview and expertise of Muslim rulers and the counsel they obtain from righteous scholars. Rather, our response is prompted by the the word moderation and the term Sunni in the above article by Alan Rosenbaum. These terms have been misused and misinterpreted by both non-Muslims and uninformed or misguided Muslims. Consequently, it is essential to elucidate these concepts to differentiate truth from falsehood, clarity from ambiguity, and detail from generalization.

Al-Wasatiyyah – The Middle Path

It is well-known regarding some of the people that ٱلۡوُسۡطَ is only what occupies the middle position between two things, and they do not take note of the meaning of this term in the Magnificent Qur’an and the Prophetic Sunnah. [ٱلۡوُسۡطَ ]  in the Shariah is something that is superior to other things. Allah said: [حَـٰفِظُواْ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَٲتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ – Guard strictly (five obligatory) As-Salawaat (the prayers) especially the Salatul Wustaa (the Asr prayer)]. [Al-Baqarah. 238] [ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ]- Meaning, the best, most excellent.

(On the scale) of the average of that which you feed your own families]. [Al-Ma’idah. 89]  [مِنۡ أَوۡسَطِ ] – Meaning, the best and most just. Allah said: [وَكَذَٲلِكَ جَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا – Thus We have made you  أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا]- Meaning, the best and most upright Ummah.

The intent behind this is to understand that [الوسطية] in the religion is what is best and the justice of the religion – to follow the command of Allah and refrain from His prohibitions. As for the explanation of [الوسطية] in the religion with a meaning other than this, it is (something) ready to crumble and a mirage which a thirsty one considers water [i.e. an illusion]. [1]

Both moderation and extremism are evaluated through the lens of divine revelation, as interpreted and practiced by the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Allah said:

O you who have believed, obey Allāh and obey the Messenger and those in authority over you. And if you disagree among yourselves over anything then refer it back to Allāh and the Messenger if you truly believe in Allāh and the Last Day. That is better (conduct) and (leads to) the most excellent outcome.

Allah said:

And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers’ way (i.e. the companions). We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell – what an evil destination. [An-Nisaa 115]

Allah said:

And let those who oppose the Messenger’s (Muhammad) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements, etc.) (among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant, etc.) befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them. [An-Nur 63]

Allah [The Most High] said:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

O you who believe! Answer Allah and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart. And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered. [8:24]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

This Ayah comprises some affairs and one of them is that a beneficial life is only attained through obedience to Allah and His Messenger, therefore, whoever does not submit to this call (of Allah and His Messenger) will have no life (upright guidance), even though he has a life similar to that of the most despicable animals (eats, drinks and fulfils desires whilst devoid of the sound faith that enables a person to distinguish between guidance and misguidance). A real and good life is the life of that one who answers the call of Allah and His Messenger- outwardly and inwardly. They are those who are alive (with sound faith in this life), and even if they have passed away (their righteous example remains). As for others besides them, they are dead (with hearts devoid of sound faith), even if their bodies are alive. This is why the one with the most perfect life amongst the people is the one with the most perfect response to the call of the Messenger because there is life (upright guidance) in everything he calls to. Therefore, whoever missed a portion of it will miss a portion of life and there is life in accordance with his response to his call.

[لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ -To that which will give you life]. Mujahid [may Allah have mercy upon him], “Meaning, the truth”. Qatadah [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “Meaning, this Qur’an in which is life (upright guidance), safety and protection in the life of this world and the hereafter. As-Sa’dee [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “Meaning, Islam. They were given life (upright guidance) by way of it after being dead (completely misguided) through disbelief. [وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ – And know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart. And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered. [2]

Allah [The Most High] said: [وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِينَ وَٱلۡأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡہُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ -And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajirun (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhajirun) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him]. [9:100]

Allah said:

Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, – these are (all) allies to one another [8:72] until Allah stated: [وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ مَعَكُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ مِنكُمۡ‌ۚ – And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allah) they are of you]. [8:75]

Allah said:

(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allah and to please Him. And helping Allah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say); And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them.” [59:8-9]- up until His [The Most High] statement: [وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَٲنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِيمَـٰنِ – And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith]. 59:10

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “This ummah will split into seventy-three sects; all of them will enter the fire except one. They said, ‘Which is that (saved sects) O Messenger of Allaah?’ He replied, ‘Those who are upon that which I and my companions are upon today’. The Prophet said, ‘Adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khulafaa after me’. https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2024/12/28/all-in-the-fire-except-one/

The standards for evaluating moderation and extremism are rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, as interpreted by those who were contemporaneous with their revelation and observed their application. Any belief or methodology that diverges from this foundational understanding—be it labeled as extremism, moderation, or progress—can only be seen as a form of misguidance. It is essential to inform Alan Rosenbraum that this matter is exclusively evaluated according to the aforementioned principle. The statements of individuals can be accepted or dismissed, with the exception of that of the Messenger, as has been articulated by Islamic scholars over the centuries. The assessment of moderation or extremism is not determined by personal desires or human ideologies; instead, it is based on the principle previously outlined, neither ambiguity, sophistry, nor philosophy.

Sunniyyah

It is important to recognize that an individual’s affiliation with Suniyyah must be grounded in unequivocal evidence. Imam Barbahaaree [329AH], may Allah have mercy upon him said:

It is not permitted for a man to say, “So and so is a person of the sunnah” until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah, so it is not said of him, “a person of the Sunnah” until he combines all the Sunnah.

Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, commented on the above statement as follows: Do not give recommended to a person and a praise of him, except based on knowledge, lest the people become deceived by your praise of him, while he is not what (you have stated about him).  So, when his real affair and path is clear to you, his knowledge and steadfastness, you can give him recommendation. As for giving out praise and recommendation whilst not knowing of anything about him, this is a dangerous recommendation through which the people will be deceived by this person. Had only those who give commendations to the people stopped at that (i.e. put it in its proper place), they would not give recommendation, except for one who fulfils the conditions of (receiving) recommendation because recommendation is a witness, thus, if the recommendation is not correct it will be a false witness. And regarding the statement of Imaam Al-Barbahaaree: “until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah”. The characteristics of the Sunnah are to be in creed, knowledge and adherence to the (path) of the pious predecessors. But if there is not in him except a single characteristic of the (sunnah), he is not judged to be from Ahlus Sunnah on the basis of a single characteristic or one thing, then what about the one who does not have anything from that? [3]

Al-Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Hadi Al-Madkhali, may Allah preserve him, was asked: The questioner says: We request a comment from you on this statement: “Indeed both Sunnah and Bidah may be gathered in a man, thus, if the Sunnah is predominant in him, he is a Sunni Salafi. And if bidah is predominant in him, he is an innovator, a misguided one”. Benefit us (i.e. with a comment) and may Allah reward you.

Response: This (statement) is from the [مغالطات-i.e. those misleading statements or affairs that are brought forth for the purpose of deception or sophistry]. There is no doubt that the one in whom Bidah is predominant is an innovator in religious matters, but it is not a condition, for example, that he has thirty (matters) of bidah with him and twenty (matters) of Sunnah, because he may have one bidah with him and thus declared an innovator in religioys matters. Rather the verdict of disbelief may be passed against him. [Footnote c] Because if he adheres to all the Sunnah, but then he says, “Indeed the Qur’an is created”, do we say that the Sunnah is predominant in this (person)? The Salaf (pious predecessors) declared (people) disbelievers due this because the Qur’an is the Speech of Allah and not created. The Salaf held a consensus regarding this. If he says, “I am a Sunni and the Qur’an is created”, we say: ”You are an innovator in religion, a misguided one, rather this innovation of yours is tantamount to disbelief.  Either you recant or else you are a disbeliever.”  We clarify the truth for him and unless he recants, otherwise he is a disbeliever. He rejects the Ruyah (i.e. he rejects the fact that the believers will see Allah on the day of judgement) and says: “I am a Sunni in everything except in this, for I do not believe that Allah will be seen in the Afterlife.” This one (i.e. the person who says this) has belied the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

This principle (i.e. that a person is a Sunni Salafi or an innovator depending whether the Sunnah or Bidah is predominant in him) is false; and how many with a single bidah – among the major bidah- were declared innovators by the Salaf?! Jad Ibn Dirham had two innovations- negation of the attributes of Allah and the statement (i.e. the belief) that the Qur’an is created, whilst he used to pray, observe fasting and worshipped Allah. And how many of Ahlul bidah and the Ubbaad (those dedicated to worship) have numerous (practices) of Sunnah, but alongside this he is an innovator!

Therefore, it is obligated to the Sunni to be solely dedicated to the truth and that his religion (Creed, Methodology and acts of worship) are pure and not stained by anything from the (matters) of bidah. However, if he falls into a Bidah khafiyyah (i.e. an innovation that is obscure or hard to detect), whilst he is desirous of the truth and seeking after it, then if the people were to inform him about it he would recant. So we do not pass the judgement of Tabdee against this person. If he had passed away we ask Allaah to forgive him and we do not pass the verdict of Tabdee against him. If he is alive, we advice him, and unless he accepts (the truth), we pass the verdict of Tabdee against him. [4]

The Shaikh also stated:

All sects of Ahlul Bidah gather truth and falsehood, deny the truth that is with the other sect of Bidah and believes in that which they possess of falsehood. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: Allah says:

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ ءَامِنُواْ بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ نُؤۡمِنُ بِمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡنَا وَيَكۡفُرُونَ بِمَا وَرَآءَهُ ۥ وَهُوَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مُصَدِّقً۬ا لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡ

And when it is said to them, “Believe in what Allah has sent down,” they say, “We believe in what was sent down to us.” And they disbelieve in that which came after it, while it is the truth confirming what is with them]. [Al-Baqarah 91]

The Shaikh also stated: As for the one who falls into an innovation, then he is of categories. he first category: Ahlul-Bid’ah such as the Rawāfid, the Khawārij, the Jahmiyyah, the Qadariyyah, the Mu’tazilah, the Grave-worshipping Sūfīs, the Murji’ah, and whoever is connected to them [in our times] such as al-Ikhwān, at-Tablīgh and those similar to them. For these innovations the Salaf did not make it a condition that the proof be established due to the fact that the ruling upon them is [in accordance to] the innovation. So regarding the Rāfidī, it is said about him, “Innovator (mubtadi’)”. As for the Khārijī, it is said about him, “Innovator”, and so on, regardless of whether the proof is established upon him or not. [5]

Concerning the interactions between Muslim nations and non-Muslim nations, including peace treaties, war, and bilateral relations, these matters are managed by the leaders. It is not within our authority to dictate the actions of Muslim rulers, as this responsibility lies with them and the senior scholars of the Ummah. The rulers are tasked with determining diplomatic relations that serve the interests of the Muslim community and the senior scholars are there to give them sincere advice.

A case illustrating how poisonous ideas permeated minds of certain people within the Ummah.

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Shamsuddeen Al-Afghaanee As-Salafi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

The books of Greek Philosophy, which encompassed notions of grave and idol worship, were translated into Arabic, thus, many who identified with Islam, such as Al-Farabi, (a) Ibn Sina Al-Hanafi, (b) and Nasir at-Tusi, an advocate of disbelief and shirk, (c) and others among who played tricks Islam, akin to how Paul manipulated the tenets of Christianity, busied themselves with these books. They were influenced by the ideas of the Greek philosophers, particularly the veneration of graves, transforming them into proponents of such practices. The practices of these people were rife amidst the ranks of the proponents of theological rhetoric among the Hanafi Maturidiyyah (d) and the Ash’ariyyah Kullabiyyah, as they immersed themselves in the writings of these philosophers, thus, influenced by the creed of grave worship. They emerged as advocates for grave worship and the creed of the Jahmiyyah at the same time, exemplified by the likes of Taftazani Al-Hanafi, a philosopher of the Maturidiyyah and a proponent of grave worship, alongside Jurjanee Al-Hanafi, who was a caller to superstition.

[a] Al-Faraabee said that Philosophy is more perfect than Prophet hood. Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy upon him, said about him: “Misguided, a disbeliever”. Ibn Sina adopted his books and ideas of disbelief. [For further details concerning Al- Faraabee, See Majmoo Al-Fataawaa 2/67—86] [Dar At-Ta’aarud 1/10] [Ighaathatul Luhfaan 2/372-373].

[c] Nasir at-Tusi: He was a magician and a minister of the Tartars. He rejected the ‘resurrection’. For further details, see: As-Sawaa-iq Al-Mursalah of Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) 2/790; 3/1077-1078]

Revival of The Authentic Sunnah Every Hundred Years

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah will raise for this Ummah at the end of every hundred years the one who will revive its religion for it”. [2]

“Allah will raise for this Ummah”- Meaning the Ummah Ijabah [i.e. the Muslims]. “At the end of every hundred years”- Meaning at the end of every hundred years when there is little knowledge of the Shariah and the authentic Prophetic Tradition, whilst ignorance and religious innovation is rife. “One who will revive its religion for it”- Meaning a scholar who is alive and well known. He will clarify the authentic Prophetic Tradition and distinguish it from the religious innovations. knowledge will be abundant again and its adherents will be aided, and the proponents of religious will be overcome and degraded. This reviver is non else but a scholar who has sound understanding of the religious sciences that deal with acts of worship, the underlying wisdoms of the religion and the texts that deal with beliefs of the heart. [3]

Imam Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “A group amongst the scholars- including Ahmad Bin Hanbal – stated that Umar Bin Abdul Azeez was alive at the end of the first hundred years and he is more worthy and entitled to be entered into this category of people due to his leadership and striving to establish truth”. [4]

What motivates Irfan Fard – at Jerusalem Post – to repeat his slander against the term Islamic?

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah said:

And they bring no (argument or objection by way of a) similitude (in order to criticise this Qur’ān and oppose your message) except that We bring you the truth and the better explanation thereof (through a similitude that is superior to theirs, provides detail and invalidates their objection). https://www.thenoblequran.com/q/#/search/25_33

Irfan Fard has once again embarked on his campaign of malicious defamation, linking the noble term “Islamic” with the abhorrent concept of terrorism, all while being granted a platform by those with Zionist affiliations. It is hardly surprising that such a charlatan finds support among individuals who would perceive Islam as a barrier to their own misguided beliefs and the distortion of the true path of the Prophets. Irfan’s actions stem from a desire to promote an alternative governance system, one that stands in stark contrast to that of the Rafidah. His animosity is not rooted in a quest for the establishment of Allah’s laws, but rather in a relentless pursuit of worldly power and recognition, masquerading as a commitment to justice. True justice can only be derived from the Qur’an and Sunnah, as interpreted and practiced by the Prophet’s companions. Neither the Rafidah nor the self-serving ambitions of Irfan, supported by Zionist interests, can offer a legitimate foundation for justice. Therefore, we once again present the link where Shaikh Abu Khadeejah, may Allah preserve him, eloquently and unequivocally demonstrates that terrorism can never be aligned with Islam, despite Irfan’s persistent slander. Following this, we will outline the motivations behind the actions of slanderers and deceivers, particularly those who harbour a deep-seated animosity towards the authentic Islamic terms. Read: https://abukhadeejah.com/terrorism-is-never-islamic-a-refutation-of-terrorism-based-on-the-texts-of-the-quran-and-sunnah-and-the-sayings-of-the-scholars-ebook/

Individuals like Irfan engage in a systematic approach to create the illusion of reality by affirming, reiterating, and disseminating falsehoods across various contexts. This strategy, while demanding persistence, gradually influences those who either hold misconceptions about the subject or lack detailed knowledge. This tactic mirrors the methods employed by politicians advocating for their agendas, akin to the repetitive techniques used in advertising to promote products. When founded on falsehoods, such repetition can insidiously embed ideas into the subconscious, eventually morphing them into beliefs and accepted truths. Once these inaccuracies are established as truths through continuous repetition, they proliferate among the public with little scrutiny, particularly when the actions of individuals associated with a targeted group are misrepresented in relation to the distorted idea. Irfan exemplifies this when he addresses the heretical Rafidah by linking their actions to the term “Islamic” and subsequently associating it with terrorism. Similarly, some other websites present their own distortions of Islam in varied ways, conveying different narratives. Thus, while the platforms and methods may differ, the underlying goal remains consistent: a relentless effort to distort truth into falsehood without substantiation, thereby shaping perceptions of reality. This process of transforming falsehood into perceived truth through repetition poses a significant threat to societal understanding. Consequently, the vast array of media content available today, along with its varied formats, timings, and presenters, has the potential to reshape long-held convictions among individuals.

The impact of this phenomenon is particularly significant for a generation whose perspectives are molded by ideologues, demagogues, and provocateurs masquerading as journalists and commentators. The act of repetition of falsehood wields considerable power over cognitive boundaries, hindering the sound understanding or justified dissenting viewpoints. The intellect remains ensnared by this influence until it achieves liberation through a conscious detachment from its origins, thereby allowing reason to prevail: discerning acceptance and rejection based on the tenets of sound rigorous validation.

Advocates of falsehood, such as Irfan and the Rafidah, do not only seek to reshape ideas and manipulate thought processes but they also alter the very foundations of sound creed and methodology of the Prophets, which poses a serious concern. Even more alarming is the transformation of falsehood, solidified through repeated assertions over time, into doctrines, beliefs and methodologies that future generations come to accept. This results in a scenario where truth is misidentified as falsehood, leading to a distortion or misunderstanding of Islamic principles and terms. We recall a maternal uncle, may Allah have mercy on him, who was a journalist in Gambia, renowned for his eloquence and commitment to truth. His pursuit of issues significantly influenced our understanding of contemporary matters. However, after being guided to the Sunnah, we recognised the importance of grounding our judgments on the sound principles of verification and ascertainment as taught by the Salafi Scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, instead of blindly following anyone else, regardless of their eloquence and convincing arguments. Thus, when the misguided Irfan attempts to link terrorism with the term Islamic—an association as distant as the heavens from the earth—we clearly perceive the desperation within him to connect two entirely unrelated concepts. May Allah guide him or disfigure his deceitful tongue. Amin.

This article by Irfan, to which we are responding, also makes a sweeping claim that Islamic countries share a significant responsibility for fostering the harmful ideology represented by Khumeini. Irfan again uses the term "Islamic" to refer to Muslim nations in the context of Iran's actions, suggesting that these countries are also culpable. However, he fails to specify which countries support the Rafidah or which ones oppose their activities. Furthermore, it raises the question: which Muslim nation actually endorses the Rafidah's beliefs and propagates their destructive methods? Historically, scholars of Islam, both past and present, have unequivocally condemned the Rafidah, not out of a struggle for power, but due to a fundamental distinction between sound and corrupt beliefs. In contrast, Irfan's concerns about the Rafidah seem rooted in a power struggle and a desire for an alternative system that aligns with his vain desires. He has been given a platform by Zionist interests to pursue authority, driven by a lack of fear of Allah, which is what typically restrains a believer from chasing after leadership, regardless of the outcome. Read here: https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2025/01/14/a-sad-reality/

The upright Scholars of Islam and their students effectively counter the claims of the Rafidah from and their affiliates. [Footnote a] Rather than resorting to vague and misleading generalizations, an honest and fair-minded individual would clearly differentiate between those who endorse the actions of the Rafidah and those who challenge and denounce them. Additionally, it is important to recognise that all Muslim nations maintain diplomatic relations with other countries, regardless of the situation. This practice was established by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to promote the common good and mitigate the threats posed by adversaries. [Footnote b]

Political opportunism will not earn one the pleasure of Allah in the afterlife. True success comes from dedicating oneself to singling out Allah in worship and following the Sunnah of His Messenger. What makes Irfan’s actions even more troubling is his disparagement of the term Islamic in his quest for selfish worldly gains and a desperate grab for power. At the very least, Irfan should hold back from attacking the term Islamic, as we cannot prevent him from his conflict with the Rafidah, which is driven not by genuine faith but by an unquenchable thirst for authority. The Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “If Adam’s son had a valley full of gold, he would like to have two valleys, for nothing fills his mouth except dust. And Allah forgives him who repents to Him”. [Al-Bukhari 6439]

Irfan Fard, with his insidious rhetoric, once more uses Zionist platform to link the term “Islamic” with terrorism

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah said:

They want to extinguish Allah’s Light with their mouths [i.e. the Qur’an, the pure Islamic monotheism, and the guidance Allah sent Muhammad with] but Allah will not allow it except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it). [at-Tawbah 32]

Imam Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: They wish to destroy the guidance and religion of truth that Allah gave His Messenger through their arguments and fabrications, so their example in this is that of someone who attempts to put out the light of the sun or the moon by blowing at them, but this (person) can never succeed in doing so. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]

Allah said:

Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. [Aal Imran 118]

Irfan has once again sought to sully the noble reputation of Islam by linking the term “Islamic” with acts of terrorism, all while pursuing a personal vendetta against the heretical Rafidah under the pretense of promoting virtue and prohibiting vice. It is abundantly clear that their discord with the Rafidah is rooted in a struggle for political dominance, stemming from the Rafidah’s rebellion against their historical leader. Consequently, neither faction is genuinely concerned with adhering to the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The Rafidah aim to propagate their deviations from the Sunnah, while Irfan and his associates strive to dismantle the Rafidah’s influence and reclaim their former political authority in Iran. Both groups stand apart from the true essence of Islam and the Muslim community, as their pursuits are driven by selfish ambitions, positions of power, and their own misguided paths. The Rafidah cloak their deviations in the guise of Islam, whereas Irfan and his followers masquerade their actions as a fight against extremism. In this way, the Rawaafid exploit Islam to advance their Shirk and fabricated ideologies, while Irfan and his ilk use the banner of combating terrorism to tarnish and undermine Islamic principles. Just as we challenge the Rawaafid, we must also confront Irfan and his associates, urging them to disentangle their personal political aspirations from the sacred matters of Islam under the guise of combating extremism. The Ummah of Muhammad does not require their political stratagems or conflicts with the Rafidah, as both factions remain ensnared in misguidance.

Irfan and his associates must refrain from their hollow rhetoric and unworthy ambitions. If they feel the need to associate acts of terrorism with specific individuals based on solid evidence, they ought to ensure that their allegations are aimed at those individuals and their ideologies. Should they be convinced that the Rafidah are involved in such acts of terror, let their references be directed towards them, rather than casting a shadow over the term Islamic. This principle should be universally applicable to any group or organization that partakes in such despicable actions. Your persistent denigration of terms related to Islam indicates either profound ignorance or a deliberate intent to tarnish its reputation, perhaps as a tool for those who wish to undermine the faith. May Allah bestow guidance upon Irfan, or render his slanderous words ineffective. “Terrorism is never Islamic” as Shaikh Abu Khadeejah, may Allah preserve him, clarified. Defiling the term Islamic – A bone to pick with Erfan Fard

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Exalted, said:

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [Al-Baqarah 42]

Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

He (Allah) prohibits mixing truth with falsehood and concealing (truth). Mixing truth with falsehood is to confound truth with falsehood until one of them is confused for the other, and from this (results) deception, fraudulent maneuver, and cheating whose underlying reality contradicts the outward appearance. Similarly, when the truth is cloaked in falsehood, the perpetrator manifests falsehood in the image of truth and utters a wording that carries two meanings—a correct meaning and a false one, thus the listener may mistakenly think that the perpetrator intended the correct meaning, while his actual intent is falsehood. This is Ijmaal Fil Lafdh [general, unrestricted wording (or speech)]. As for ambiguity in meaning, it can manifest in two ways; one of which is truth while the other is false; its correct intended aspect is misconstrued, thus its intended meaning becomes false. The basis of Bani Adam’s misguidance lies in general wordings and ambiguous meanings, particularly when they encounter confused minds; so how about when accompanied by vain desires and fanatism? Therefore, ask the One (Allah) Who keeps the hearts steadfast to keep your heart steadfast in the religion He has ordained, and not allow you to fall into this darkness. [1]

Irfan Fard stated:

It has become increasingly prevalent for the misguided actions of certain individuals, groups, and sects to be unjustly attributed to Islam. When a person who identifies as a Muslim engages in reprehensible behaviour, various media outlets, journalists, ideologues, demagogues, rabble-rousers, and even sometimes some who ascribe to Islam – who lack a true understanding of Islam due to their extensive exposure to secular institutions and philosophies—tend to erroneously associate these actions with Islam or Islamic principles. This occurs instead of examining the individual’s personal shortcomings or lack of self-discipline, as well as their deviation from the teachings of the Qur’an and Sunnah as interpreted and practiced by the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Such a strategy seeks to forge a misleading narrative that conflates the sound and robust Islamic principles, manners and methodology with the aberrations of those whose actions are neither Islamic nor commendable in any context. The ignorance or utter disregard for decency and integrity in discourse is starkly evident in the words of those eager to tarnish the pristine principles of Islam, just as they have previously distorted their own Scriptures and introduced numerous innovations into the path of earlier Prophets. Consequently, they aspire to do the same with Islam, despite being called by Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to submit to the final revelation. After rejecting this divine invitation, they resort to waging an ideological war against Islam through their rhetoric, as Allah stated:

They intend to put out the Light of Allah (i.e. the religion of Islam, this Quran, and Prophet Muhammad) with their mouths. But Allah will complete His Light even though the disbelievers hate (it). He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islamic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammed) hate (it). [As-Saff. 8-9]

Allah said:

O people of the Scripture! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over (i.e. leaving out without explaining) much.

The animosity many of them harbour stems from the final divine revelation that has unveiled their concealed intentions and misinterpretations. In response, they engage in a relentless ideological campaign against Islam, attempting to associate it with elements that would tarnish its noble reputation. Terrorism can never be aligned with the essence of Islam; indeed, no pure path of the Prophets can ever be linked to such heinous acts. How can one claim that terrorism is both prohibited in Islam and yet somehow Islamic? Such a statement reveals either profound ignorance or a blatant deceit, a mere facade of intellectual dishonesty. Many of these misguided notions trace back to the French King, Louis IX, who, during his crusade against the Muslims of Egypt in 1250, was captured and later ransomed. During his imprisonment, he contemplated strategies to undermine Islam and its followers, inspired by dark forces to pursue two primary objectives: first, to shift the conflict from the battlefield to one of ideological and cultural dominance; and second, to prepare the West to corrupt the beliefs of Muslims and distort the true image of Islam across the globe. [2]

It remains unclear what Erfan’s religious beliefs or ideological stance may be. However, by carelessly linking terrorism to the term Islamic, one can only conclude that he is either woefully uninformed and should refrain from discussing such matters to spare us from his distasteful ignorance, or he is a fervent ideologue whose pent-up frustrations manifest in deceptive rhetoric. This is precisely one of the paths Erfan Fard has chosen by associating terrorism with the term Islamic, rather than explicitly identifying the specific terrorist actions and holding accountable those who either misrepresent their motives under the guise of Islam or are misled by the rhetoric of extremist factions. Terrorism is not a product of Islam and can never be so, regardless of how often Erfan perpetuates this absurd and treacherous falsehood. He may continue to write until his ink runs dry, his keyboard shatters, or his fingertips are stained with the remnants of his words, yet none of this will impede the dissemination of true Islam, no matter the depth of his disdain. Read: http://www.islamagainstextremism.com/

Finally, as for the Rafidah, whether those from Iran, Yemen, Iraq or Lebanon, their affair is well known and there is no need to elaborate on their affair. Read:

Bid’ee Haqiqatjou, mocking upright scholars is a trait of Jahiliyyah!

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

They (People of the era Al-Jahiliyyah) accused the people of the religion of having little understanding and poor Memory.  They utilised this argument to determine the falsity of a religion that the people who followed it had little understanding and poor memory, as Allah said that they said:  [ بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأۡىِ – And they (too) followed you without thinking]. [Hud 27]

Al-Allamah Salih Al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him, commented:

Regarding what Allah has stated about the people of Nuh and their saying: “And they (i..e believers) (also) followed you (Nuh) without thinking”- Meaning, the weak ones followed you without thinking, those who possess no understanding. They reviled the followers of the Messengers that they possess neither understanding nor are they well versed in the affairs; and (that) nor do they possess far-sightedness.  This is what many among those who have strayed from the right path and the enemies of Allah brag about today.  They make fun of the Muslims and their scholars, that they neither possess understanding nor far-sightedness.  They seek to diminish the (status of the) scholars with this calumny despite the fact that the scholars of the Muslims are people of clear sightedness and cognizance because they examine (matters) based on Allah’s guidance, command what Allah has commanded and forbid what Allah has forbidden.

Therefore, none diminishes (the status of the) scholars and accuses them of short-sightedness and lack of understanding, except one who shares similarities with the people of Jahiliyyah [Footnote a] and the people of Nuh – those who described the followers of the Messengers with this description, in order to drive the people away from them. This is uttered from the tongues of some of the people today.  They say, “These scholars are Ulamaa Hayd Wa Nifaas [i.e. scholars whose knowledge is limited to the rulings pertaining menstruation and post-natal bleeding], Ulamaa Ahkam Al-Istijmar [i.e. scholars whose knowledge is limited to issues pertaining to Istijmaar (i.e. rulings regarding the use of dry objects such as stones, tissue etc, to clean oneself after using the toilet)], Ulamaa Juz’iyyat [i.e. scholars whose knowledge is restricted to some affairs], and that they do not possess knowledge of current affairs”. [Footnote b] The knowledge of current affairs is the subject matter of politics and revolt against the Muslim rulers. [Footnote c] [1]

——————————————

Footnote a: Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “The most hated people to Allah are three: a person who deviates from right conduct sanctuaries of Makkah and Madinah; a person who seeks that the traditions of the pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance should remain in Islam and a person who seeks to shed somebody’s blood without any right”.

Al-Allamah Zayd Bin Hadi Al-Mad’khali, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

These three actions are major sins. The first major sin is to stray from good behaviour within the sacred sanctuaries of Makkah and Madinah. This deviation means to abandon the path of truth and embrace falsehood, and promoting falsehood to suppress the truth. Allah, The Mighty and Majestic, has censured those who engage in such misconduct within the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madinah, saying:

وَمَن يُرِدۡ فِيهِ بِإِلۡحَادِۭ بِظُلۡمٍ۬ نُّذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ۬

And whoever intends evil actions therein or to do wrong, We shall make him taste a painful torment. [Al-Hajj. 25]

Allah has promised them a severe punishment for their evil intentions therein, so what about committing such deeds?! It would indeed be a more severe sin, a more terrifying state, and a harsher punishment. This highlights the sanctity of Makkah and Madinah, chosen by Allah as sacred lands where virtuous acts of worship, like Hajj, are performed – a pillar of Islam. The virtues of these places are countless, with increased rewards for good deeds done there, and surpassing all other lands on earth in virtue.

The second major sin is committed by the individual who wants the practices of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance to remain within Islam, as if he prioritises the evil customs that were followed during that era over Islamic practices, Iman and Ihsan, their virtue and the virtue of the Prophet’s Sunnah. This act constitutes a major sin, as it involves favouring Bidah over the authentic Sunnah that leads to the right path.

The third major sin is shedding the blood of a Muslim without any right, especially when it is done out of oppression and animosity. Shedding the blood of a Muslim is a great crime as the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “The extinction of the entire world is less significant than killing a Muslim (without right)”. He stated regarding the rights of the Kabah, “Great you are and great is your sanctity, but the sanctity of a believer is greater than yours in the Sight of Allah”. Therefore, it is forbidden to transgress against Muslims, both male and female, in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madinah, as well as in any other place, due to the severe consequences and punishment that follow. [2]

Footnote b: Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymin, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

Some people say that someone who does not grasp current affairs is not a scholar, yet they forget what the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “Whoever Allah wishes good for, He grants them understanding in the religion”. They lose sight of the reality that preoccupying oneself with current affairs distracts a person from understanding the religion and may even keep people from engaging in correct worship, which is to worship Allah alone while devoting one’s heart to Allah, contemplating Allah’s divine revelation (i.e. the Qur’an and the Sunnah) and His universal signs (i.e. the things He has created). In reality, preoccupying the youth with current affairs prevents them from understanding the religion Allah has ordained because the heart is a vessel that does not take another thing when it is filled with something else, thus, it is not possible to fill it with this and that. Being preoccupied with seeking understanding in the religion, fulfilling acts of worship, pure Islamic monotheism, and sincerity are the better to do for the individual than learning about current affairs and what such and such a person is about.

It is possible that one receives knowledge of current affairs through flimsy and fabricated media narrations, or bases knowledge of current affairs on the analysis and speculations of a person. The one engaged in the subject of current affairs may seek to establish an analysis that is far from what the current affairs are or they look into affairs that have been concocted for them by the enemies (regarding) a specific event, but this event turns out to be something else and does not exist at all, thus, all those plans come to naught.

Therefore, it is important that one learns what Islam expects of them- the understanding related to one’s self, rectification of the heart through sound belief and wishing good for the Muslims, and this is related to the understanding of halal, haram, and other affairs of a similar nature. (However), if necessary, one can acquire knowledge about current affairs; but when it comes to matters that haven’t actually happened yet, such as lies, deception, analysis, and speculation, attaching absolute emphasis to it has no foundation. Reflection whenever Iblees emboldens the Bid’ee (Haqiqatjou)

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Reflection whenever Iblees emboldens the Bid’ee Haqiqatjou to utter falsehood against Ahlus Sunnah or mocks them, or praises misguidance and its proponents among the Rafidah and others

Allah, The Most High, says:

لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَآ أَتَوا۟ وَّيُحِبُّونَ أَن يُحْمَدُوا۟ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا۟ فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُم بِمَفَازَةٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

Think not that those who rejoice in what they have done (or brought about), and love to be praised for what they have not done,- think not you that they are rescued from the torment, and for them is a painful torment. [Al-Imran. 188]

Imaam Ibn Al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: They rejoice in what they have brought about of bidah and misguidance, and love to be praised for following the Sunnah and sincerity. [i.e. they want to be praised for what they do not deserve about adherence to the sunnah] [1]

The Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah blocks the repentance of every adherent to bidah until he abandons his bidah”. [2]

Imam Al-Albani, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “This does not constitute a Shariah ruling (i.e. does not mean that the Shariah prevents the person from repentance as a rule), but the meaning of the hadith is that an individual following the path of Bidah and it is made fair-seeming to him that it is good, this one does not repent from it. This is the barrier that hinders and prevents the adherent of Bidah from seeking repentance. (i.e. to abandon the Bidah) In this subject matter here, the scholars said that Bidah in the religion is more perilous than sin, as I explained to you”. [3]

The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, “Whoever starts a good thing [i.e. something other than bidah and sin] and is followed by others, he will have his own reward and a reward equal to that of those who follow him, without it detracting from their reward in any way. Whoever starts a bad thing [i.e. a bidah, sin or something that opposes Islaam] and is followed by others, will bear the burden of his own sin and a burden equal to that of those who follow him, without it detracting from their burden in any way”. [4]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “This subject matter makes clear to you the lofty station of calling to the path of Allah, guidance to His path through every means and path that leads to it; and the lowly status of the caller to evil and a leader in it, and that he is the most degraded human being”. [5]

The Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,  said:

إن الله يبغض البليغ من الرجال الذي يتخلل بلسانه تخلل الباقرة بلسانها

Indeed, Allah hates the eloquent one among men who moves his tongue round [within his teeth], as cattle do. [5.1]

Al-Allaamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbad, may Allaah preserve him, said: The person intended in this hadith is the one who speaks eloquently, while using obscure or ambiguous language, immerses himself in speech and burdens himself. He burdens himself in speech and utters something blameworthy. However, if this (eloquence) is not done by way of burdening oneself in speech, such as the one whom Allah has granted eloquence and he utilises it in his speech to clarify the truth, then this is not blameworthy. Allah hates the person who speaks eloquently and utters that which is blameworthy due to deliberately utilising obscure, ambiguous and burdensome speech. This person is likened to a cow that moves its tongue round when eating. It is said that a cow is not like other animals because other animals use their teeth but a cow uses its tongue. This hadith forbids the likes of this action [i.e. eloquent, burdensome speech] and the one who does so is hated by Allah. [5.2]

Imam Ibn Asakir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

“know, my brother – may Allah ordain for us to be from those who fear Him based on perfect knowledge regarding His perfect Greatness and Sovereignty, and fear Him as He should be feared – that the flesh of the scholars – may Allah the Exalted have mercy on them – is poison, and Allah’s usual way of tearing open the screens of their detractors is well known because speaking ill of them for what they are innocent of is a great matter, and treating their honour with falsehood and slander is a dangerous breeding ground, and it is a reprehensible behaviour to fabricate things about those among them whom Allah choose to revive knowledge”. [6]

Al-Allamah Muqbil Bin Hadi Al-Wadi’i, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “Among the hallmarks of the proponents of illegal partisanship is that they mock the (upright) scholars and refuse to sit in the gatherings of the scholars. This is what brings joy to the enemies of Islam, rather it is what brings joy to the devils, and Allah’s Aid is sought”. [7]

The Shaikh also said: Those who speak ill of the scholars, their call will cease and the call of the scholars will remain. Look – may Allah protect you – at the figureheads of the Mu’tazila, and they were extremely intelligent. When they spoke of ill Ahlus Sunnah, the call of the Mu’tazila ceased, the mention of Abu Al-Hudhayl ceased, the mention of Ibrahim Al-Nadhaam ceased, the mention of Wasil Bin Ataa ceased, the mention of Ibrahim Bin Ashras ceased, the mention of Amr Bin Ubaid ceased, while the honourable mention of the scholars remained, Saeed Bin Al-Musayyab, Humayd Bin Abdur Rahman Bin Awf, Abu Salamah, and after them Abdullah Bin Al-Mubarak and Imam Malik. Their honourable mention remains until our time. We ask Allah to bestow mercy on Al-Bukhari and Muslim, on Sa’eed Bin Al-Musayyab, Ibn Al-Mubarak, Abu Salamah Bin Abdur-Rahman Bin Awf, Humayd Bin Abdur Rahman Bin Awf, and those similar to them among the Imams of guidance, such as Imam Ahmad, Abu Hatim, and Abu Zur’ah. We ask Allah to have mercy on them, whereas those others passed away and their books died. In this time, these people who attack the (upright) possessors of Shariah knowledge will die and their call will die, but the upright possessors of Shariah knowledge have died while their honourable mention is alive. The honourable mention of the people of knowledge remains and we ask Allah to have mercy on them, and we benefit from their knowledge, all praise be to Allah, and Allah will grant them an honourable mention in later generations. [8]

Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked: Some individuals consistently violate the honour (of others), particularly (the honour of) scholars, and they are keen to distance themselves from them and refuse to acknowledge or listen to them. Could this behaviour be considered a violation of Allah’s Shariah because when a person hates a scholar and does not learn, they die ignorant or turn away (from guidance). Allah says: [فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ – So, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know]. May Allah reward you; what is your advice?

Response: This has detailed clarification. The one who abuses the scholars of the Sunnah and cautions others against them is inclined towards being a hypocrite, possessor of a wicked heart and creed. It is imperative to be cautious of such an individual, to restrain them, and to notify people about him until he is halted and appropriately punished. This is because warning against people of knowledge and making others flee from them, thus they are not benefited from and Allah’s Shariah is not acquired from them, this can only stem from hypocrisy, disbelief in Allah, obstinacy towards the truth, and hatred towards Islam. As for the warning against evil scholars and the scholars of Bidah so that a student is not deceived by them, this person is to be thanked for his deed and striving after he acquired insight and certainty (regarding the affair)- based on clarity regarding what he says and the one warned against is well-known for bidah and corruption…[9]

Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi Al-Waadi’ee (may Allah have mercy upon him) was asked: “What is the verdict of Shariah regarding one who mocks the scholars of the Sunnah, such as Ibn Baz, Ibn Uthaymeen, Shaikh Al-Albani, and others, claiming that they are callers to Fitna?”

Response: This is a plot of the enemies of Islam to separate the scholars from the common people. This plot has been embraced by the Sufis, the Shiites, and the advocates of illegal partisanship who harbour bias against scholars, along with the Sururis, who defame the scholars and accusing them that their call is that of Fitna. Therefore, it is said to them: O Miskeen! What have you done for Islam?! Where are your books? Where is your pursuit of knowledge? Where is your call to Islam? Perhaps you are in an evil state, the beard shaved as we have seen the Sufis in Hadhramaut. The beard is shaved, the creed is ruined, and you are upon extreme ignorance. However, what is important to know is that they are callers to ignorance and misguidance.

Allah said in His Noble Book:

يَرْفَعِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَاتٍ‏

Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do. [Al-Mujaadilah. 11]

Allah mentioned them (I.e. the upright scholars) specifically after mentioning the believers in general, saying:

إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ

It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah. (Surah Fatir. Ayah 28)

Allah also said:

Say: “Are those who know equal to those who know not?” It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. get a lesson from Allah’s Signs and Verses). (Surah Az-Zumar. Ayah 9)

This is proof that those who speak ill of the scholars do not possess sound intellect. [10]

Ibn Asakir, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: Al-Abdariy was the Shaikh with the most memorisation I have ever met and he was a jurist. It was reported that he entered Damascus during the lifetime of Abul-Qasim Bin Abee Al-Ala, and I heard him when Imam Malik was mentioned, he said “He is coarse and rough!” He stated when he came across a statement of Abu Ubaid, “He was nothing but an absent-minded donkey who did not know jurisprudence!” I was told about him that he said about Ibrahim Al-Nakha’ee: “He is one-eyed, evil!” So we gathered one day with Ibn As-Samarqandi to read the book Al-Kamil, and it was stated in it “As-Sadi said such and such” , so he said, “Ibn Adi is lying, rather this is a statement of Ibrahim Al-Jawzajani”. So, I said to him, “He is Al-Sadi. How much bad manners can we tolerate from you when you say such-and-such about Ibrahim, and say about Malik “Coarse” and speak about Abu Ubaid?!” He became angry and trembling, and said, “Ibn Al-Khatibah, Al-Bardani and others were afraid of me, so the matter came to you and you say this about me?!” So, Ibn As-Samarqandi said to him: “This is for that (behaviour of yours)”. I (Ibn Asaakir) said to him, “We’ll only honour you as long as you honour the Imams”. [11]

Imam Al-Awzaa’ee, may Allah have mercy upon him, said: “O Muslims! Fear Allah, accept the advice of the sincere advisers and the admonition of the admonishers. know that this knowledge is religion, so beware of what you do, from whom you take your religion, the one you follow, and the one with whom your religion is safe because indeed all the proponents of religious innovation are falsifiers, liars, and sinners. They are not cautious – neither do they pay attention nor do they fear, and together with that they are not to be trusted that they would not distort what you hear. They say what they do not know with regards to what they disapprove of and when proclaiming their lies; but Allah (knows, hears, and sees) what they do. Therefore, be cautious of them, trust them not, reject them, and avoid them because this is what your earlier scholars did and commanded, and likewise the righteous ones who came thereafter. Be careful of opposing Allah and being the means to destroying the religion He has ordained – breaking its commands and prohibitions, nullifying and weakening it by respecting the innovators in religious affairs and those who initiate that which is not from the religion because you know what has been transmitted (i.e. the prohibitions) about respecting or exalting them. What can be greater respect and exaltation than acquiring your religion from them- following and believing them, drawing close to them, and assisting them in enticing the ones they entice and wooing to their views and the religion (i.e. religious innovations) they follow? This is sufficient to be regarded as associates of theirs in what they do”. [12]

Imam Abu Haatim Ar-Raazee, may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “A (clear) sign of Ahlul Bidah (the proponents of innovation in religious matters) is that they speak ill of Ahlul Athar (those who adhere to the authentic narrations of Prophet and his companions in creed, manners, and methodology)”. [13]

Malik Bin Deenaar, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “It is enough evil for a man that he is not righteous yet he speaks ill of the righteous”. [14]

Imaam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:

All praise is due to Allah, who in every age and interval between the Prophets, raises up a group from the people of knowledge, who call the misguided to guidance, patiently bear ill-treatment and harm. With the Book of Allaah they give life to the dead and with the Light of Allaah they give sight to the blind. How many a person killed by Iblees (the Devil) they have revived, how beautiful their effect has been upon the people, and how vile the people have been towards them! They remove from Allaah’s Book the alterations of those going beyond bounds, the false claims of the liars and the false interpretations of the ignoramus- those who uphold the banner of innovation and let loose the trials and discords, who oppose the Book and agree upon opposing the Book. They speak about Allaah and his Book without knowledge, argue about what is ambiguous in the Book and deceive the ignorant ones with such ambiguities. We seek refuge in Allaah from the trials of the misguided ones. [15]

We say to Haqiqatjou and his ilk when they belittle Imam Muhammad Ibn Abdil Wahhab or any scholar of Ahlus Sunnah:

يُخاطِبُني السَفيهُ بِكُلِّ قُبحٍ
فَأَكرَهُ أَن أَكونَ لَهُ مُجيبا
يَزيدُ سَفاهَةً فَأَزيدُ حِلماً
كَعودٍ زادَهُ الإِحراقُ طيبا

The fool addresses me with every repugnant (expression etc), but I hate to be a respondent, so he increases in foolishness and I increase in forbearance, just as Oud increases in good smell when burnt.

Must take a look at what is happening in their own backyard first

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah [The Exalted] said:

وَإِذَا قُلۡتُمۡ فَٱعۡدِلُواْ وَلَوۡ ڪَانَ ذَا قُرۡبَىٰ‌ۖ

And when you testify, be just, even if (it concerns) a near relative. [1]

Imam As-Sadi, may Allah preserve him, said:

When you testify by way of a statement to judge between people, differentiate between them in a discourse, and speak regarding matters and circumstances, be just in your speech, adhere to truthfulness regarding those you love and those you hate, be fair and do not conceal what needs to be made clear because it is forbidden and tantamount to injustice to divert (from justice and fairness) when speaking against the one you hate. [2]

First, it is universally acknowledged that no reasonable individual would endorse any statements or actions that could be factually classified as terrorism. However, the accuser has failed to present any substantiating evidence. Terrorism is unequivocally denounced, irrespective of the identity of the perpetrator, particularly in the context of the Zionists, who have inflicted terror and brutality upon the Palestinian people for more than seventy years. Shaikh Abu Iyaad, may Allah preserve him, stated: “We condemn everyone who opposes the Divine Legislation by killing innocent civilians, including non-combatant men, the elderly, women, children, priests, monks, and the likes, no matter who they are, Muslim or non-Muslim, whether ISIS, al-Qaeda, Hamas, Boko Haram or Benjamin Mileikowsky, the IDF, Settlers, and their likes. Our condemnation is on the basis that such actions are unjust and oppose Divine Legislation and not because of the race or ethnicity or religion of the perpetrators, and thus we are able to maintain moral consistency and integrity”. https://abuiyaad.com/a/amalekite-genocide-doctrine-gaza

Second, the situation surrounding the Zionist regime is one that calls for immediate change, especially considering their troubling tendencies towards genocide, extreme violence and discrimination. Their actions, often framed as self-defense, raise serious ethical concerns. Netanyahu referenced the outdated Hebrew Bible and the destruction of Amalek in an attempt to rationalise the tragic loss of innocent lives, including women and children in Gaza. Read here: https://abuiyaad.com/a/amalekite-genocide-doctrine-gaza

It’s important to highlight a few examples from Zionists to illustrate that they need to move past a victim mentality and take responsibility by ceasing incitement in both their words and actions. Before Mr. Saar assigns blame to others, he ought to take a look at what is happening in his own backyard and take steps to rein in his fellow Zionists before attacking others. An example of the perilous rhetoric from certain Zionists directed at Palestinians is as follows.

Netanyahu’s son, Yair Netanyahu, stated on Facebook in 2018: “There will not be peace in here until 1. All the Jews leave the land of Israel. 2. All the Muslims leave the land of Israel. I prefer the second”.

When rebuked for this vile arrogance, he increased in arrogance saying, “Why are people who have been calling for years to evacuate the settlers and establish a Palestinian state free of Jews shocked by this post?” When Facebook deleted his post, he shared a screenshot of the original post and rebuked them, saying: “thought police”. He was then blocked for 24 hours over his violation of Facebook’s community guidelines.

In 2006, the Zionist Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said, “Israeli lives are worth more than Palestinian ones”.

The Independent Newspaper

In 2012, the Zionist Interior Minister Eli Yishai said, “The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages. Only then will Israel be calm for 40 years”.

In 2021  the Zionist far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, “You are here by mistake because Ben Gurion didn’t finish the job and throw you out in 1948”.

The times of Israel

Female Zionist, Tally Gotliv – a Zionist lawyer, politician, and a member of the Knesset for the Likud party of Zionist Netanyahu- stated recently on X (twitter) regarding retaliation: “Jericho Missile! Jericho Missile! Strategic alert. Before considering the introduction of forces. Doomsday weapon! This is my opinion. May God preserve all our strength”.

Ben Gvir Itamar- a Zionist lawyer, far-right politician, the Minister of National Security since 2022, a member of the Knesset, and leader of Otzma Yehudit – stated on X (Twitter): “As long as Hamas does not release the hostages, the only thing that needs to enter Gaza are hundreds of tons of explosives from the airforce, not an ounce of humanitarian aid”

The poem, titled “The Friendship Song,” was shared by some Zionist online news outlet before being removed. Here is an excerpt from it:

Here the IDF is crossing the line

To annihilate the swastika bearers

In another year there will be nothing there

And we will return safely to our home within a year

We will annihilate them all

And then return to ploughing our fields

Recently, Zionist Arieh King, deputy mayor of Jerusalem, stated in a deleted tweet regarding some Palestinian non-combatant males detained by the Zionist army for interrogation to determine their Hamas affiliation:

There is no need to comment on his statement that the arrested non-combatant Palestinians are subhuman because we know who is behaving like spotted hyenas on a rampage and slaying nearly over 30000 Palestinians at present, including children. However, we will comment on both his statements referring to those non-combatants as ants and his statement “To protest the memory of Amalek, we will not forget.”

Research into the ongoing conflict since 1948 reveals that its roots lie in the Zionist movement and the repercussions of its mindset and paramilitary activities in Palestine. This situation was significantly influenced by militant groups such as Lehi, Haganah, and Irgun, which played a pivotal role in the Nakba, leading to the displacement of the Palestinian people from their homeland. These groups engaged in acts of sabotage and targeted civilian infrastructure, including railways and airfields. Following the declaration of independence, many of these militants integrated into the newly formed Zionist state. Additionally, the British Mandate in Palestine also faced the brunt of these violent actions. A notable instance of early terrorism in the region was the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in 1946. It is crucial to focus on educating and deradicalizing Zionists and their supporters.

Furthermore, consider the statement made by Ariel King, who audaciously compares Palestinians to ants in the context of retaliation. It is imperative that we educate rabid Zionist, demonstrating that even the ants acknowledge the righteousness of the pious. The noble Prophet of Bani Israel, [Footnote a] the noble Sulayman, peace and blessings be upon him and his father, epitomised justice, a virtue that even the ants revered. Allah says:

And there were gathered before Sulayman (Solomon) his hosts of jinns and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forwards). Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: “O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulayman (Solomon) and his hosts crush you, while they perceive not.” So he [Sulayman (Solomon)] smiled, amused at her speech, and said: “My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves.” [Surah An-Naml. 17-19]

The ant sought an excuse for (Sulayman’s) army if they would have harmed its colony because they were unaware of their presence, and it blamed its colony if they failed to take safeguards by not entering their dwelling place. Sulayman [peace be upon him] smiled as a result of this because it is something that should amaze and make someone smile. [3] The ant knew Sulayman’s affair and that of his army, exalted Sulayman’s authority, and excused them if they crushed its colony because that would have occurred unintentionally. Sulayman heard the ant’s speech and understood it, so he smiled due to being amazed by the ant’s eloquence, advice, and fine expression. [4]

Indeed, this is only one of the Prophets’ and Messengers’ remarkable manners. They never intended to hurt anyone; rather, even those small animals (the ants) were assured that Prophet Sulayman [peace be upon him] and his subjects would not harm them intentionally- neither in speech nor deed. Compare this to the attitude of Zionists, who make a speech calling for mass murder and then launch a purposeful bombing campaign to kill thousands of noncombatant Palestinians, whilst certain that the innocent victims will include thousands of children. Compare how the ant advised its colony to enter their dwellings to avoid being unintentionally harmed by Prophet Sulayman’s army to how the Zionist army tells non-combatant Palestinians to relocate to this or that area for safety, then conflict begins in the same area they designated as a safe-haven. As a result, Elon Musk must remember that Zionists require more education and deradicalization than anyone else.

As for Mr. King’s statement “To protest the memory of Amalek, we will not forget”, this link contains its appropriate response. https://abuiyaad.com/a/amalekite-genocide-doctrine-gaza

When the Zionists seek to erase the memory of their historical actions, supported by Western politicians, Christian Zionists and Colonialists long before 1948, [Footnote b] and then assert that others must change their mindset, we are inevitably reminded of this profound statement:

ضربني وبكى
He hit me and cried….and complained before me.

The Zionists are afflicted with extreme Fujur Fil Khusumah! Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen, may Allah have mercy upon him, said, “Fujur Fil Khusumah” is various types: Rejecting what is obligated to you and claiming what one is not entitled to. https://youtu.be/FGtZtOBbif4

Defamation of Salafiyyah and Land Theft- Rebuttal to Samuel, Salem Alketbi and Michael

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allah, The Exalted, said:

They want to extinguish Allah’s Light (with which Muhammad SAW has been sent – Islamic Monotheism) with their mouths, but Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it). It is He who has sent His Messenger (Muḥammad) with guidance (which comprises beneficial knowledge) and the religion of truth (which comprises righteous action) to make it manifest it over all other religion (through the authority of proof and evidence), even though the polytheists (and every denier of pure monotheism) may dislike it. [1]

This article serves as a brief response to the viewpoints presented by Samuel J. Hyde, Salem Alketbi and Michael Freund. All three articles can be classified as opinion pieces, primarily reflecting the authors’ perspectives on particular issues. However, it is essential to recognise that many individuals who produce such writings often align themselves with ideological or demagogic stances, articulating opinions that mirror the policies or beliefs of politicians or orientalists regarding specific topics. In the case of Samuel J. Hyde and Salem Alketbi, their articles appear to intentionally misrepresent Salafiyyah, aiming to manipulate public perception. This approach not only misleads the readers but also obscures the truth with falsehoods and introduces ambiguity where clarity is needed, all to serve their own agenda. Therefore, it is essential to avoid the simplistic assumption that these individuals are merely writers sharing their opinions. In truth, many of them are ideologues, demagogues, and provocateurs who endevour to shape the narrative, structure, content, and timing of their published works. They attempt to shape our perceptions of reality, skewing our understanding and leading us to interpret information in a manner that contradicts its actual nature. This can result in a failure to recognise evidence that should prompt a reassessment of our thoughts, causing us to hold onto misconceptions. Furthermore, we may grasp concepts in a particular way while remaining oblivious to alternative interpretations that could equally represent the truth, or we might comprehend information in a manner that overlooks opposing evidence, which is less likely to be accurate.

Samuel J. Hyde and Salem Alketbi adopt an orientalist perspective, whether consciously or not, as they seek to disseminate a misleading narrative concerning Salafiyyah by introducing the notion of Salafi Jihadism. Michael Freund presents a viewpoint that resonates with a belief held by Zionists, grounded in abrogated and distorted Scriptures and historical half-truths. While it is true that the Children of Israel [2] occupied certain territories in the region at various points in history, including Palestine, they are not the original inhabitants. The land has passed through the control of different groups over time, some of whom held sway for significant periods. Yet, Zionists assert their claim to the land as if they are its rightful and eternal heirs. Thus, Freund rides on a trojan horse of distorted scriptures and historical half-truths to advocate for land theft. As we have briefly addressed these matters, we will provide links to those two clarifications—one regarding Salafiyyah and the other concerning the promised land.

Post-Assad regime, where does Syria go from here? – opinion
By SALEM ALKETBI   JANUARY 11, 2025
He stated in this article:
Notably, Julani’s ideological foundation and background in Salafi jihadism have not undergone fundamental transformation – suggesting otherwise reflects unrealistic optimism. Consequently, Arab states must avoid previous strategic miscalculations and prevent Syria from falling under alternative regional hegemony replacing Iran’s previous dominance over Syrian policy during Bashar Al-Assad’s regime.

Some So-called or Distorted Indicators of Extremism and Terrorism

It is increasingly common for the actions of a few individuals to be unfairly associated with Islam as a whole. When a Muslim engages in prohibited behaviour, certain media outlets and journalists often choose to highlight irrelevant aspects of their beliefs rather than recognizing the individual’s personal failings or lack of self-control. This tactic aims to create a misleading narrative that equates sound Islamic principles and practices with extremism. For instance, you might hear comments like, “Before committing these heinous acts, he began to adopt Islamic dress, grow a beard, and voice his opposition to music, drugs, and alcohol, while also expressing strong views on the situation in Gaza.” Such statements serve only to distort the truth and perpetuate harmful stereotypes. Furthermore, through this narrative, they aim to imply that these are indicators of extremism and that they played a role in the perpetrator’s crimes, whether directly or indirectly. First and foremost, we must remind them that the One (Allah) who prohibited all intoxicants, also instructed His Messenger to instruct all Muslim men to grow their beards and trim their mustaches, and forbade music and other vices. He (Allah) is also the same One who declared it unlawful to harm innocent individuals, regardless of their faith, and prohibited vigilantism. [Footnote a] Thus, the issue that these deceivers attempt to complicate and misinterpret is quite straightforward: a person who embodies commendable qualities yet engages in criminal behaviour is merely someone who has followed certain directives while neglecting others, despite the fact that all commands and prohibitions originate from a single source.

Countless Muslims abstain from intoxicants and immoral behaviours, including murder, fully aware that these actions are strictly prohibited by their Creator. If the act of growing a beard or opposing music and alcohol were inherently linked to violence, then millions of Muslims would commit murder and other violent acts. However, this is far from the truth; these matters are not related. In reality, anyone who takes an innocent life, even under the guise of an Islamic justification, has crossed a significant line in their interpretation of promoting good and preventing evil. It is essential to understand that certain aspects of promoting good and preventing evil is primarily assigned to rulers and designated authorities, such as law enforcement. Furthermore, Individuals are obligated to promote good and prevent evil only within the framework of Islamic law and in accordance with the agreements they hold with both Muslim and non-Muslim nations while coexisting peacefully.

Saudi erudite scholar Imam Abdul Aziz Bin Baz, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked:

“Is enjoining good and forbidding evil by the hand obligated to all Muslims, or is it limited to those in authority and their deputies?”

Response: Stopping wrong is obligated to all Muslims according to their ability because the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: “Anyone of you who sees evil, let them stop it with their hand; if not able, then with their tongue, and if not able, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith”. [Muslim, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi & others]

However, stopping evil by the hand must be based on ability and should not result in greater corruption or evil. A man has the right to rectify matters with his hand in his home [i.e. based on what the law of the land allows him]; a manager has the authority to make changes within the organisation they are responsible for, in accordance with the instructions given to them [i.e. the authority given to them by the state authorities], otherwise, people should not stop anything they are not authorised to stop. If they make changes in matters that they have no authority over, this will result in more evil and great corruption between them and the people and between the people and the state.

In this case they should stop evil with their tongue, saying “O so and so! Fear Allah! This is not permissible, this is Haraam, or this is obligated to you”, and clarify it with evidence from Shariah. [Footnote b] As for changing matters with the hand, this should be done where one has authority, such as one’s home [i.e. within what the law allows], with those under one’s responsibility, or those authorised by the ruler, such as organisations given permission and authority to enjoin good. They should make changes in accordance with the authority they have been given- in the way prescribed by the Shariah, without exceeding their jurisdiction. The same applies to the governor of a city, he should make changes with his hand, in accordance with the instructions he has been given by the state. [2]

Behaviour Towards non-Muslims

Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymin, may Allah have mercy upon him, addressed the appropriate conduct for interacting with non-Muslims during a tele-link on July 28, 2000, saying:

Likewise I invite you to have respect for those people who have the right that they should be respected, from those between you and whom there is and agreement (of protection) [i.e. Non-Muslims]. For the land which you are living is such that there is an agreement between you and them. If this were not the case they would have killed you or expelled you. So preserve this agreement, and do not prove treacherous to it, since treachery is a sign of the hypocrites, and it is not from the way of the Believers.

And know that it is authentically reported from the Prophet that he said, “Whoever kills one who is under and agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.”

Do not be fooled by those sayings of the foolish people : those who say : ‘Those people are Non-Muslims, so their wealth is lawful for us [i.e. to misappropriate or take by way of murder and killing].’ For by Allah – this is a lie. A lie about Allah’s Religion, and a lie in Islamic societies.

So we may not say that it is lawful to be treacherous towards people whom we have an agreement with. O my brothers. O youth. O Muslims. Be truthful in your buying and selling, and renting, and leasing, and in all mutual transactions. Because truthfulness is from the characteristics of the Believers, and Allah – the Most High – has commanded truthfulness – in the saying of Allah – the Most High – “O you who believe – fear and keep you duty to Allah and be with the truthful”.

And the Prophet encouraged truthfulness and said : “Adhere to truthfulness, because truthfulness leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise; and a person will continue to be truthful, and strive to be truthful until he will be written down with Allah as a truthful person“.

And he warned against falsehood, and said : “Beware of falsehood, because falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. And a person will continue lying, and striving to lie until he is written down with Allah as a great liar.”

O my brother Muslims. O youth. Be true in your sayings with your brothers, and with those Non-Muslims whom you live along with – so that you will be inviters to the Religion of Islam, by your actions and in reality. So how many people there are who first entered into Islam because of the behaviour and manners of the Muslims, and their truthfulness, and their being true in their dealings. [3]

Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uhaymin, may Allah have mercy on him, clearly articulated that it is a grave betrayal to infringe upon the blood, honour, and property of non-Muslims. This raises an important question: how does this relate to the rejection of vices like alcohol, gambling, music, or the obligation to grow a beard? [Footnote c] Abstaining from such vices is a personal commitment to obeying one’s Lord, while respecting the lives of others is a fundamental right owed to all of Allah’s servants, irrespective of their lifestyle choices. Disapproving of others’ behaviors does not justify taking the law into one’s own hands; Islam is a protector of all, including those who do not share the same faith. However, when it comes to vices like intoxicants, music, gambling, and others, it is unequivocally stated that these are prohibited in Islam. It is also important to emphasise that no rational Muslim believes they have the right to harm those who partake in these activities. Such views are only held by the khawarij. [Footnote d]

Sadly, biased and misleading journalists often attempt to link the rejection of these vices to terrorism. If this were true, how do we explain the millions of Muslims who avoid these vices while coexisting peacefully with non-Muslims in both Muslim-majority and non-Muslim countries? Instead of fabricating this tenuous connection to further their ideological agenda against Islam, it would be more constructive for them to consider the individual’s circumstances—whether they are struggling with mental health issues, have been misled by terrorists who distort religious teachings, or are acting out of personal grievances.

As for the situation in Gaza and the ongoing aggression from Zionist forces, it is a matter of deep concern that resonates with both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, who universally denounce such acts of violence. However, an informed Muslim recognises that the events unfolding in Gaza do not excuse or rationalise any negative actions against non-Muslims elsewhere, nor do they justify the targeting of unarmed civilians and non-combatants under Netanyahu’s leadership. We stand firmly against all forms of violence and brutality, regardless of the perpetrator, whether it be Zionists, Hamas, or any other group.
