In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Almighty] said:

وَلُوطًا إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦۤ أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلۡفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِہَا مِنۡ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

إِنَّڪُمۡ لَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَہۡوَةً۬ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ‌ۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ۬ مُّسۡرِفُونَ

وَمَا ڪَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦۤ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: “Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns)? “Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins).” And the answer of his people was only that they said: “Drive them out of your town, these are indeed people who want to be pure (from sins)!” [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayaat 80-82]

Short Commentary On The Above Aayaat

[ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ – Drive them out of your town], meaning drive Lout out and the believers.

[إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ – these are indeed people who want to be pure (from sins)!], meaning they want to refrain from having sexual intercourse with men and women in their anuses. [Ref a]

They either said this that Lout and the believers want to refrain from falling into this lewd act so they should not live in their city or they said this as mockery. [Ref b] Qataadah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Blamed for something that is not blameworthy [i.e. mocked or threatened because they kept away from sin]”. [Ref c]

 

What Was The End of of Lout’s People?

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

فَأَنجَيۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُ ۥ كَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِينَ

وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّطَرً۬ا‌ۖ فَٱنظُرۡ ڪَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Then We saved him and his family, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind (in the torment). And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimun (criminals). [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayaat 83-84]

Prophetic Texts and Comments of The Scholars Regarding Anal Intercourse

Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘Be shy; indeed Allaah is not shy of [stating] the truth. Do not approach women [i.e. sexual intercourse] in their back passages”.

Shaikh Zayd Bin Haadi [rahimahullaah] stated regarding the statement of the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], “Be shy; indeed Allaah is not shy of [stating] the truth. Do not approach women [i.e. do not have sexual intercourse with your wives] in their back passages”; this is shyness in the presence of Allaah – that neither are you seen committing what is forbidden and what you have been commanded to avoid, nor falling short [i.e. out of negligence, laziness, heedlessness etc] in the mandatory and obligatory duties. Likewise, one should have shyness with regards to the rights of his Lord. Also he should be shy of the people within the boundaries of the Sharee’ah and this must be established by way of deeds, so that he is shy in the presence of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and in the presence of the people. And in relation to this shyness is that women [i.e. our wives] are not approached through their back passages [i.e. sexual intercourse in the back passage], for indeed the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Cursed is the one who approaches a woman in her back passage”. Therefore, the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] forbade this and declared it a major sin, because neither is it the place where the semen should be placed nor where offspring is sought. [Ref 1]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said: The back passage is a place of filth [i.e. the exit place of excrement]. Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] forbids [a husband] from having sexual intercourse with a menstruating woman [i.e. his wife] due to the impurity in her vulva, then how about having sexual intercourse in the place [i.e. rectum] from which [exits] heavy impurity.[Ref 2]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: The Quraish and the Ansaar used approach their women from the back (i.e. sexual intercourse in the vagina whilst the wife is not lying down on her back), so the Yahood rebuked them for that. Then Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] revealed: [نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَّكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّىٰ شِئْتُمْ  – Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (i.e. have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will]. [2:223]

In the Saheehayn (Bukhaari and Muslim) it has been reported from Jaabir (radiyallaahu-anhu) who said: The Yahood used to say, “If one has sexual intercourse with his wife from the back, then she will deliver a squint-eyed child.” So Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) revealed: [نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَّكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّىٰ شِئْتُمْ  – Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (i.e. have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will]. [Ref 3]

The vagina is the place of seeking after children. As for the anus, it has not been uttered on the tongue of a single Prophet among the Prophets that it is permissible (to have sexual intercourse in the anus). Imaam Abu Daawud (rahimahullaah) reported in his Sunan from Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ‘’Cursed is the one who has sexual intercourse with his wife in the anus.’’ [Ref 4]

If it is the case that Allaah has prohibited sexual intercourse through the vagina due to an apparent harm (i.e. at the time of menstruation or post-natal bleeding), then what about the area (i.e. the anus) which is a place for removal of harmful things (i.e. faeces) permanently. The woman has a right to be fulfilled by the husband during sexual relations; therefore to perform sexual intercourse with her through the anus is violation of this right. Anal intercourse neither fulfils her sexual desires nor does it reach its objective. Also, neither is the anus naturally prepared for this act nor was it created for that purpose; rather the vagina is the natural place prepared for sexual relations.

Sexual intercourse through the anus is harmful for the man; likewise it is greatly harmful for the woman because it is something very strange and far removed from innate natural human disposition. It is from the greatest causes of punishment and blessings being taken away because it brings about Allaah’s Anger and Curse. It also deprives the person of shyness because shyness gives life to the heart [i.e. makes it hate and stay away from evil (and) repugnant acts]. However, if the heart is deprived of this shyness, it starts beautifying repugnant acts and declaring good acts repugnant, and thus corruption becomes strengthened and dominant. [Ref 5]

Some Reasons Behind Rejecting Truth

Al-Allaamah Abdur Rahmaan Al-Mu’allimee [rahimahullaah] said:

Firstly: A person sees that by acknowledging the truth, it would necessitate that he has acknowledged that he was upon falsehood, because a person is nurtured upon a religion, creed, school of thought or views he acquired from his nurturer and teacher, considers it to be the truth and followed it for a long time. Then when it becomes clear to him that [the religion, creed, view, or school of thought] is false, it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge it, just like when his forefathers, ancestors or the one he follows are upon a [particular] way and then its falsity is clarified for him, because he sees that their deficiencies necessitate his own deficiencies, and an acknowledgement of their misguidance or errors necessitates his own deficiencies.

Secondly: It may be that clinging to falsehood gave him prestige, fame and a livelihood; so it becomes difficult for him to acknowledge that [what he is upon is] falsehood and thus all those benefits [i.e. the fame, prestige, livelihood etc] would disappear.

Thirdly: Pride: It may be that a person is upon ignorance or falsehood, then another person comes along and clarifies the proofs for him; so he sees that by acknowledging such proofs, it would necessitate that he is lacking [in understanding] and that it was that person who guided him. And due to this we find that it is not difficult for some of those attributed to knowledge to acknowledge their mistakes when it becomes manifests to them in their researches and studies, but it becomes difficult for them [to acknowledge] if it was others who clarified such mistakes for them.

Fourthly: Envy: [This may occur] when another person clarifies the truth for him, so he sees that by acknowledging such truth it would necessitate an acknowledgement of the clarifier’s virtue, knowledge and correctness due to that clarification, and thus that becomes [something] great in the eyes of the people and many people [begin] to follow him [i.e. the person who clarified the truth]. So you will find some of those attributed to knowledge being eager to prove the mistakes of other scholars even if that is done by way of falsehood, due to envy and seeking to diminish their status amongst the people.

Objectivity! [A Word Utilised In The Name of Progress By Proponents of Kufr Akbar and Deceivers Seeking to Justify Haraam]

What is the meaning of the word ‘Objectivity’ in the English language?

It means “the fact of being based on facts and not influenced by personal beliefs or feelings”.

This above definition is utilised for both truth and falsehood by the militant secularists and some of the misguided modernists; therefore the Muslim educator should be armed with basic principles to guide his pupils and students. Indeed, the objectivity promoted by the militant secularists is nothing else but the one inherited from Iblees – to question and rebel against the command of his Lord.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

“It has been stated that the reason behind Iblees being distanced [from the mercy of Allaah] is because of false interpretation, for indeed he made an analogy with the text and gave precedence to the analogy over the text. He made a false interpretation about himself and that  [his so called] rational analogy takes precedence over the command to prostrate. [Allaah informed us that Iblees said]: [أنا خير منه – I am better than him [i.e. Aadam], and that a virtuous one cannot humble himself to one who has been given virtue over him; therefore he quickly said [as Allaah informed us that he said]: [خلقتني من نار وخلقته من طين – You created me from fire, and him you created from clay]. Therefore, he thought that this rational analogy that resembles truth- even though it is false – will benefit him in his false interpretation. So, that which happened him happened and he became the leader of everyone- until the day of judgement- who makes a false interpretation of the texts of the revelation. How many a person in this world are followers of this cursed leader! And if you contemplate on the majority of those doubts that are made to resemble the truth by the false interpreters of the texts and seeking to nullify them, you will find that it is similar to the doubts of Iblees which he seeks to portray as truth. So, a person says: If the intellect and the text oppose each other, then give precedence to the intellect. This is where this principle is derived from and he [i.e. the proponent of this affair] use it as a fundamental principle through which he rejects those texts of the revelation which he claims are in opposition to the intellect, just as his leader Iblees claimed that a [so called] rational proof opposed the command to make sujood. This doubt came to him due to pride which prevented him from submitting to the clear texts of the revelation. Likewise, you find every false disputer against the texts of the revelation does so due to pride. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ – Verily, those who dispute about the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (Muhammad ) as a Messenger of Allah and to obey you]. They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allah has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allah (O Muhammad from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer]. [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 56] [Ref 1]

The militant secularist utter this word ‘Objectivity’ whose apparent meaning can be both praiseworthy and unpraiseworthy, and then utilise it to promote their Kufr Akbar and Shirk Akbar – to question Allaah; but at the same time making it seem as if what they pursue under the guise of this word is praiseworthy, such as advancement, progress etc. This is another inheritance of theirs from the people of misguidance of old. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [2:42]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: Allaah forbade us from mixing truth with falsehood, and thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused for the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he intends the corrupt meaning. [Ref 2]

And do not be duped when they claim to be the facilitators of opportunity for debate and discussion, rather ask yourself, “Who finally decides which view or idea is to be given precedence?” Indeed, the final judges in the affair are none but the self-appointed possessors of superior intelligence, even though they have no guidance from Allaah. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “And even though there is something in the paths of analogical reasoning and reflection that will lead to knowledge, however sometimes it cannot give detail explanation in a dispute between the people of the earth due to the minute details and ambiguities [in that dispute], and at other times due to the fact the people differ when prioritising necessities. Therefore, due to this Allaah [The Most High] commanded [us] to return to the revelation in times of dispute. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[ كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ -Mankind were one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allaah’s Sharee’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed]. [Surah Al-Baqarah’ Aayah 213]

Therefore, Allaah [The Most High] designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’aan being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ”. [Ref 3]

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [may Allaah preserve him] said,

“If you say that the intellect is to be given precedence over the revelation, then which intellect should we follow? Are the intellects of the people combined in the intellect of one man or do they differ? There are intellects of the philosophers, the atheists, the heretics, the people of evil desires and those who confound truth with falsehood; and due to this one of the pious predecessors said, ‘Had the desires been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’; therefore, we say, ‘Had the intellects been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’”. [Ref 4]

Imaam Ash’Shaatibee [rahimahullaah] said,

“Know that Allaah has established this sharee’ah as a proof against the creation [i.e. mankind and jinn] – the old and young alike; the obedient and the disobedient; the righteous and the wicked. He did not specify the proof against anyone in exclusion of another one. Also all the other revealed laws were established as proof against all the other nations to whom they were revealed. The Sharee’ah is the judge- restrictedly and unrestrictedly; the [source of judgement] and the judge on all those who have reached the age of responsibility. It is the path attached to [what Allaah has ordained] and the Greatest Guide. And have you not seen the statement of Allaah [The Most High]?! [وَكَذَٲلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ رُوحً۬ا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَا‌ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِى مَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبُ وَلَا ٱلۡإِيمَـٰنُ وَلَـٰكِن جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ نُورً۬ا نَّہۡدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا‌ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَہۡدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ۬ – And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur’an) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism)].’’ [Soorah Ash-Shooraa. Ayah: 52]

He [alayhis salaatu wassalaam] was the first to be guided to the Book and Eemaan, and then those who followed him. The Book is the Guide and also the Sunnah which was sent down upon him explains that guidance [i.e. the Sunnah and the Qur’aan explain each other]. All the creation [i.e. mankind and Jinn] are guided by it. Therefore, when this is the case, the Sharee’ah is worthy of being a decisive proof against them [i.e. against mankind and Jinn] and a beacon by way of which they are guided to the truth. Their nobility is established in accordance with how far they embrace its rulings- through acting upon them in speech, belief and deeds– and not merely due to the level of their intellects or their nobility amongst their people. That is because Allaah [The Most High] has determined nobility through Taqwa and no other than it. Allaah [The Most High] said: [إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ- Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa] [49:13]

The one who is the firmest [in his  or her] adherence to the Sharee’ah is more worthy of honour and nobility, but it is not possible for the one below this [i.e. the one whose adherence to the Sharee’ah is below that of the one who is firmest in adhering to it] to reach the highest level of honour based on his adherence to the Sharee’ah. Therefore, honour is [measured] in accordance with one’s [level of adherence] to the Sharee’ah”. [Ref 5]

Therefore, it is not befitting Muslim educators to blindly follow the militant secularists and other enemies of the Messengers – parroting everything they hear in the name of education and vocabulary building, whilst discussing subject matters in which haqq and baatil must be distinguished.

The basis of a person’s Islaam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi- wasallam] is the Messenger of Allaah, to believe in Allaah, declare that Allaah is One without partner, obey Allaah’s commands, keep away from what Allaah has forbidden and single out Allaah in worship. And safeguarding this path [necessitates] the prohibition of every expression that contains Shirk Billaah [i.e. ascribing partners to Allaah] or Kufr, or will lead to one of the two. [Ref 6]  In the Qur’aan, there are many words that are utilised to rebut the words [or terms] that are in opposition to the call of the Messengers, the revelation that was revealed to them and the truth they brought. [Ref 7]

One of the general fundamental principles [in Islaam] is to know that words [or terms] are two types: Words that are mentioned in the Qur’aan and [authentic] Sunnah, therefore, it is obligated on every believer to affirm them – affirm what Allaah and His Messenger have affirmed, and negate what Allaah and His Messenger have negated. The words [or terms] affirmed by Allaah is truth and the ones Allaah negated are [negated] in truth, for indeed Allaah speaks the truth and guides to the straight path. The words [or terms] of the Sharee’ah are sanctified, and it is from perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the [sound meanings] which the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasalam] intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated; for indeed it is obligated on us to believe and bear witness to everything he has stated and follow him in everything he has commanded.

As for the words [or terms] that are neither found in the Qur’aan and [authentic] Sunnah, nor did the Salaf hold a consensus regarding whether they are negated or affirmed, then it is not incumbent on anyone to agree with the one who negates them or affirms them until its intended meaning is explained. So, if its intended meaning agrees with the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, it is affirmed; but if its intended meaning is in opposition to the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, it is rejected. [Ref 8]

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [rahimahullaah] said:

Protests [or demonstrations] are newly invented matters in the religion. Every newly invented matter in the religion is a bidah; every bidah is misguidance and every misguidance is in the hell fire [i.e. is a path leading to the hell fire]. Allaah’s legislation is perfect and complete-based on The Book and The Sunnah-and we do not know of anything by way of the evidences in the Book and the Sunnah that makes it permissible for a handful of people to gather for demonstrations, which causes disturbance for the people and time wasting. And greater than this [disturbance and time wasting] is abandonment of the prayers [during protests] and the loss of life [i.e. murder]. If one was to kill a Muslim in a single protest, the one [or those] who called to such protests will carry his sins-be it an individual, a group or those who participate. It has been reported in an authentic hadeeth: The termination of the world means less to Allah than the killing of a Muslim [i.e. without right]. [Saheeh Al-Jaami 9208]

These protests are nothing but bidah and acts of misguidance advocated by shaytaan; [enticed] by the urge of the evil soul and desires. And these enemies [i.e. shaytaan, the urge of the evil soul and desires] do not come together in any affair except that the religion and worldly affairs are destroyed, just as it is the case in these demonstrations [or protests].

The end results of protests [or demonstrations]: Carnage, destruction, wastage of wealth and time and terrorising those living in peace. And how many disadvantages are there in [that]! It is enough to be considered something sinister due to the fact that the Noble Messengers and the Great Prophets who were put to trial and harmed by their people did not hold protests [or demonstrations]. Neither did they engage in plotting to cause explosions nor committing suicide; rather Islaam has forbidden all of that.

Those who call to protests [or demonstrations] and hold that there is success in it, they are mistaken and they have missed the correct path. Rectification of the affairs can only be by way of the Book and The Sunnah in accordance with the understanding of those scholars who are firmly grounded in knowledge. So whoever calls the people to this chaos, then indeed he has brought about a means to corrupting the land and the slaves, and what has occurred – in the past and at present- is a witness to that.

Therefore, we warn the students of knowledge that they are not persuaded by the speech of those who allow protests [or demonstrations]. They say that peaceful demonstrations are permissible-as they categorise it into this categorisation- without proofs and concrete evidence from the Book and the Sunnah- neither from the actions of the Messenger and the Noble Sahaabah nor from the Notable Imaams; rather the verdict on protests [or demonstrations] is only what has been stated earlier and as well as what has been written by other than myself [i.e. protests (or demonstrations) are not permissible]

Question to Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah]: Going out to demonstrations, [initiating] revolutions and nurturing the youth upon it; is this from the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah or not, whether [carried] out within or outside the Muslim countries? Answer: This is the methodology of Marx (i.e. Carl Marx), Lenin (i.e. Vladimir Lenin) and those similar to them. It is not from the Islamic methodology. Revolutions, bloodshed, trials and troubles are Marx’s and Lenin’s school of thought.

To Proceed:

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ

–Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 64]

Meaning: say to the people of the scripture – the Jews and Christians,

[تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ – Come to a word that is just between us and you]- Meaning: Come let us unite upon the statement which all the Prophets and Messengers agreed upon and none opposes it except the obstinate and misguided. This statement is not specific to anyone of us; rather it is something that you and us should establish between us, so this is justice and fairness in debate. Then Allaah explains this and said:

[أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا  –  that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him]- Meaning: We should single out Allaah in worship, devoting all love, fear and hope to Him alone, and we should not associate anyone as partner with Allaah in worship- neither a Prophet, an Angel, a Righteous Person, an Idol, a Deified image, a living or non-living thing, [وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ  – and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allaah]; rather all obedience is to be devoted to Allah and His Messengers. [فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ – Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]”. [Tafsir As-Sadi]


Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَقَالَتِ ٱلۡيَهُودُ عُزَيۡرٌ ٱبۡنُ ٱللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَى ٱلۡمَسِيحُ ٱبۡنُ ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ ذَٲلِكَ قَوۡلُهُم بِأَفۡوَٲهِهِمۡ‌ۖ يُضَـٰهِـُٔونَ قَوۡلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُواْ مِن قَبۡلُ‌ۚ قَـٰتَلَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ أَنَّىٰ يُؤۡفَڪُونَ

And the Jews [i.e. those who deviated] say: “Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah”, and the Christians [i.e. those who deviated] say: “Messiah is the son of Allah”. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth! [Surah At-tawbah. Aayah 30]

Indeed, Ahlul Bidah Wad Dalaal [the proponents of religious innovations and misguidance] – those who ascribe to Islaam – imitate them in this affair by uttering something similar to their act of going beyond bounds regarding the status of Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], the family of Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], the Mashaayikh and other than them, such as those who claim Wahdatul Wujood [i.e.  the notion of the unity of existence – that Allah is one with the creation and that He is in every place] or Hulool [i.e. Divine indwelling – the belief that Allaah dwells within a particular human] or Ittihaad [i.e. union with the divine], which is similar to the extreme claim of the Christians [regarding the Messiah] and the claim of the Shiites regarding Ali and a group from the Prophet’s family, such as the Nusayriyyah and other than them who claim deity ship for Ali, and the claim of some of the Ismaa’eeliyyah who claim deity ship for their ruler etc.

When these people are addressed and a clarification is given regarding the corruption their statements, they reply with something similar to the statements of those Christians [who deviated from the path of the Messiah], saying, “This affair of ours is something above the intellects”, and they would say to the one who desired to follow their path, “Abandon Aql and Naql [i.e. sound reasoning by way of intellect and the narrations found in the Sharee’ah]”. These people blindly follow their Mashaayikh and follow them in that which is outside the boundaries of the Sharee’ah of the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and in that which they innovated, which Allaah has not legislated; so they follow religious innovations as means of worship and declare lawful that which is unlawful, in a manner similar to how some of the Christians blindly followed their Shuyookh. And when a person opposes them, they say, “The Shaikh has made his affair safe and he is not to be opposed”, just as the Christians say about their Shuyookh.

The most of that which these people have is that they narrate some of those affairs that are regarded to be out of the norm [i.e. miracles] from their Shuyookh, which may either be true or false, or it may be that they are deeds of the allies of the devils, such as the Magicians and soothsayers. And it may be from that which occurs from the allies of Allaah, so if it is from the allies of Allaah, then there is nothing in relation to this regarding blindly following a Wali in everything he says, because a Wali is neither infallible nor is it obligatory to follow him in everything he says, nor is it obligatory to believe in everything he says; rather this is one of the specific rights of the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], because it is obligatory to believe in everything the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] have stated, testify to the truthfulness of everything they have related regarding the unseen matters and follow them in everything they have commanded. And whoever disbelieves in anything they have brought, then such a person is a disbeliever.

These innovators,  extremists – those who ascribe partners to Allaah and hold the belief of divine indwelling – are like the Christians with regards to how close they resemble them and how much they oppose the sound religion of the Muslims, and some of them are more in agreement with the sound religion of the Muslims. As for the extremists, there are those amongst them who agree more with the Christians and some are greater disbelievers than the Christians.

Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Hadee Al-Waadi’ee [rahimahullaah] said:

Quote:

So, you say to the Raafidah, “Indeed, it is Shirk to call upon other than Allaah when seeking benefit and seeking protection from harm regarding an affair which none can (fulfil) except Allaah.  It is not permissible to invoke Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu-anhu] or other than him amongst the dead [may Allaah have mercy upon them]…. Indeed, is it permissible to invoke the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’  They [i.e. Raafidah] say, “You are a Wahhaabi, you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)’’.


Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] said:

وَعَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ‌ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا سَـٰحِرٌ۬ كَذَّابٌ

أَجَعَلَ ٱلۡأَلِهَةَ إِلَـٰهً۬ا وَٲحِدًا‌ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىۡءٌ عُجَابٌ۬

وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِنۡہُمۡ أَنِ ٱمۡشُواْ وَٱصۡبِرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىۡءٌ۬ يُرَادُ

مَا سَمِعۡنَا بِہَـٰذَا فِى ٱلۡمِلَّةِ ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ إِنۡ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا ٱخۡتِلَـٰقٌ

أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا‌ۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِى شَكٍّ۬ مِّن ذِكۡرِى‌ۖ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِ

And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: ‘This (Prophet Muhammad) is a sorcerer, a liar.   Has he made the aaliha (gods) (all) into One Ilaah (God – Allaah). Verily, this is a curious thing!’ And the leaders among them went about (saying): “Go on and remain constant to your aaliha (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)! We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention!  Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?” Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur’aan)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! [Soorah Saad; Ayah:4-8]

So, you say to the Raafidah: Indeed, it is Shirk to call upon other than Allaah when seeking benefit and seeking protection from harm regarding a matter which none can (fulfil) except Allaah.  It is not permissible to invoke Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu-anhu] or other than him amongst the dead [may Allaah have mercy upon them], because Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِن قِطۡمِيرٍ

إِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُواْ دُعَآءَكُمۡ وَلَوۡ سَمِعُواْ مَا ٱسۡتَجَابُواْ لَكُمۡۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِشِرۡڪِكُمۡۚ وَلَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثۡلُ خَبِيرٍ۬

And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmeer (the thin membrane over the date stone).  If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything).  O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allaah, but Allaah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of all praise.’ [Soorah Faatir; Ayah:13-14]

And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسۡتَجِيبُ لَهُ ۥۤ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَآٮِٕهِمۡ غَـٰفِلُونَ

وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُواْ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَآءً۬ وَكَانُواْ بِعِبَادَتِہِمۡ كَـٰفِرِينَ

‘And who is more astray than one who calls (invokes) besides Allaah, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?  And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become enemies for them and will deny their worshipping.’ [Soorah Ahqaaf. Aayah:5-6]

And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

وَمَن يَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرۡهَـٰنَ لَهُ ۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ ۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦۤ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ

And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allaah, any other ilaah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. [Soorah Muminoon; Ayah:117]

And if you say, “Indeed others have joined them (i.e. the Mushrikoon) in this (affair)”, so I say, ‘’Whoever joins them in this (affair of shirk) is similar to them”.  Allaah said:

وَلَا تَدۡعُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ‌ۖ فَإِن فَعَلۡتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذً۬ا مِّنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

وَإِن يَمۡسَسۡكَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ۬ فَلَا ڪَاشِفَ لَهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۖ وَإِن يُرِدۡكَ بِخَيۡرٍ۬ فَلَا رَآدَّ لِفَضۡلِهِۦ‌ۚ يُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ‌ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

And invoke not besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong doers).  And if Allaah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He will. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ [Soorah Yoonus; Ayah:106-107]

When you relate these verses and their likes to the (Rawaafid), and then say to them, “Indeed, is it permissible to invoke the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’  They say, “You are a Wahhaabi, you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)’’. This is the same (affair) regarding the extreme Soofees; when you say, “Indeed, the awliyaa can neither benefit nor harm”, they say, “You hate the awliyaa”.

Indeed, Mighty is the word that comes out of the mouths of these two sects; they utter nothing but a lie.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ

They want to extinguish Allaah’s Light with their mouths [i.e. the Qur’an, the pure Islamic monotheism and the guidance Allaah sent Muhammad with] but Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it). [Soorah At-Tawbah: Ayah: 32]

Imaam Ibn Katheer [rahimahullaah] said: They want to extinguish that which Allaah sent His Messenger with of guidance and the religion of truth, merely by way of their arguments and fabrications; so their example in this is that of one who wants to extinguish the light of the sun or the moon by way of blowing at [them] and this [person] can never achieve this. [Al-Misbaah Al-Muneer Fee Tahdheeb Tafseer Ibn Katheer]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَكَذَٲلِكَ جَعَلۡنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّ۬ا شَيَـٰطِينَ ٱلۡإِنسِ وَٱلۡجِنِّ يُوحِى بَعۡضُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ۬ زُخۡرُفَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ غُرُورً۬ا‌ۚ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ‌ۖ فَذَرۡهُمۡ وَمَا يَفۡتَرُونَ

And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies – Shayaateen (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications.” [Soorah Al-An’aam: Ayah 112]

You will come across the following headlines: *Shia Muslims Slash and Whip Themselves to Mourn the Death of Prophet Muhammad’s Grandson! *Shi’ites Self-Flagellate For Ashura Festival. *Devout Muslims Slice Open Their Heads With Swords During Ashura Festival Ritual. *Screaming Baby Cries As a Relative Slices Its Head Open With a Kitchen Knife As Part of Islamic Self-Flagellation Ceremony to Mourn The Death of The Prophet’s Grandson. *PUT TO THE SWORD, Muslim Kids Prepare to Have Their Heads Cut Open in Brutal Islamic Bloodletting Ceremonies as Thousands Continue to Draw Blood By Whipping And Cutting Themselves to Pieces etc.

Indeed, this is one of the opportunities presented – by the Raafidah – to the spiteful and deceitful secularists – to either attribute evil and wickedness to Islaam or distort its image. Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin  Haadi [rahimahullaah] said: [الشيعة هم آلة لكـُـلِّ طاعنٍ في الإسلام – The shia are a tool for every attacker of Islaam]. [قمع المعاند .page: 69]

 

Now Let Us Scrutinize ‘Shia Muslims’ and ‘Devout Muslims’ When Applied to The Shiites By The Deceitful Secularists, And How Do We Deal with The Raafidah!

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Mad’khalee [hafidhahullaah] was asked: Our Shaikh (may Allaah preserve you); the questioner says: What is the ruling on the common people of the Rawaafid (shia) and how do we deal with them?

Answer: The questioner differentiates between the common people and other than them. This is a good approach.  The common people who neither speak ill of the wives of the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] nor do they make Takfeer of the Sahaabah [radiyallaahu-anhum], nor do they believe that the Qur’aan is distorted; but they have some Rafd [i.e. beliefs of the raafidah] and some hatred for the Sahaabah without making Takfeer of them and what is similar to [these deeds]; then these ones are misguided innovators and we do not declare them disbelievers.

And whoever joins their heretics in pronouncing Takfeer against Muhammad’s [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] Sahaabah; speaking ill of the wives of the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] and the filthy belief that the Qur’aan has been distorted, and that there is an addition and deficiency in it, then this [person] is a Kaafir [disbeliever]- similar to the disbelievers of the Yahood and Nasaaraa. There is no differentiation between their common people and their scholars [in this affair].

Question: How do we deal with them? Answer: If dealing with them is with regards to a worldly affair-business transaction and what is similar to that- it is permissible to trade with a Yahoodi, a Nasraani and a Raafidee. However, as for co-operating with them in the affairs of religion, then never. [Allaah (The Most High)] said: [وَلَا تَعَاوَنُواْ عَلَى ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡعُدۡوَٲنِ‌ۚ -Do not help one another in sin and transgression][5:2] Rather their scholars and callers are boycotted and they are warned against. Therefore, the reader understands – from the above speech of Shaikh Rabee – that there is no co-operation with the Raafidah in affairs of religion, but there should be no oppression against them, because the misguided wicked lunatics of ISIS and their ilk commit atrocities against the misguided Raafidah Shiites whilst they are engaged in their pre-Islamic practices. Both groups are misguided, but there can be no justification for harming the Raafidah whilst they are engaged in their Bidah, rather that is the plot of the Khaarijites of ISIS and their ilk. May Allaah protect us from misguidance and guide all these lunatics to the authentic Sunnah Aameen.

The Middle Path Regarding Aashooraa- A Rebuttal Against The Raafidah And Other People of Innovation

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] was asked about what some people do on the day of Aashooraa, such as: Applying kohl and Hena, shaking hands, taking a bath, preparing food such barley and other grains, and manifesting happiness; are there any authentic hadeeth from the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] regarding this or not? If there are none, then would this be considered bidah or not? As for what is done by the other group, such as mourning, manifesting grief, deliberately making oneself thirsty and scarring oneself, wailing, reciting [poems] and fainting as a result of that and slapping the cheeks, do these actions have a basis in the religion or not?

Answer: All the praises and thanks be to Allaah, Lord of the Aalameen. No authentic hadeeth from the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi sallam] has been reported in this regard nor from his companions; neither any of the Imaams of [ahlus sunnah] have declared this to be recommended nor the four Imaams [Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Ahmad and Shaafi’ee]; neither have the scholars- those who authored and compiled the books that are relied upon due to their authenticity- reported anything authentic or weak regarding this from the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], nor from the Sahaabah and the Taabi’een; neither in the authentic books of hadeeth nor in the Sunan, nor in the [compilations such as Musnad Ahmad and other compilations similar to it]. The virtuous first three generations of Islaam knew nothing about these narrations.

However, some of those who came after the first three virtuous generations of Islaam have narrated reports related to this, such as: ‘’Whoever applies kohl on the day of Aashooraa, he will not be sore-eyed in that year’’; ‘’Whoever bathes on the day of Aashooraa, he will not become sick in that year.’’ They also transmitted reports regarding the virtue of prayer on the day of Aashooraa; and that Aadam’s [alayhis salaam] repentance [i.e. after eating from the tree he was forbidden] took place on the day of Aashooraa; and that it was the day Nuh’s [alayhis salaam] ark settled on mount Judi; and that it was the day Ya’qoob [alayhis salaam] reunited with Yoosuf [alayhis salaam]; and that it was the day Ibraaheem [alayhis salaam] was saved from the fire etc They also narrated fabricated reports and lies attributed to the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] that he said, “Whoever gives [generously] to his family on the day of Aashooraa, Allaah will give him [generously] throughout the year.” All these reports are lies attributed to Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam]. There emerged an ignorant and transgressing group [i.e. the Shia Rawaafid]-they are either disbelieving hypocrites or misguided straying ones. They manifested a (so called) allegiance to the Prophet’s household and took Ashoorah as a day of mourning, sadness and wailing (i.e. due to the murder of Husayn-radiyallaahu-anahu). They manifest the acts of the days of pre-Islamic ignorance (on this day of Ashoorah) by slapping the cheeks, tearing their clothes and calling to the slogans of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance and disbelief. However, that which Allaah and His Messenger commanded when new calamities occur is that (one) exercises patience, hoping for the reward of Allaah, recalling one’s faults and repenting, as Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ

أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ

But give glad tidings to As-Saabireen (the patient ones, etc.). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom are the Salaam (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided ones. [Soori Al-Baqarah: Ayaan: 55-57]

And it has been reported in the Saheehayn (Bukhaari and Muslim) from the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) that he said: ‘’He is not from us, he who slaps his cheeks, tears his cloths and calls to the slogans of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance.’’ [End of quote] [Source: Al-Fataawaa Al-Kubraa page Vol:1 page: 200. They also recite poems that convey sadness and narrate reports that contain a lot of lies.  As for the truth in them, it only renews their [exaggerated and misguided manner of grieving], bigoted allegience, incitement to hatred and war, initiating trials between the people of Islaam by way of that and as a means of reviling those who were foremost to enter into the fold of Islaam [i.e. the Sahaabah of Badr]. The evil of these people [i.e. the raafidah] and their harm on the people of Islaam cannot even be expressed by an eloquent man.

However, they [i.e. Raafidah] are opposed by another people – a people who are either Nawaasib [i.e. those who hate the family of the Prophet] or ignoramuses; so, they oppose the corruption of the [Shia Raafidah] with another type of corruption, lies with other lies, evil with another type of evil, and bidah with another type of bidah. They fabricate poems that convey rejoice and happiness on the day of Aashooraa, apply kohl, dye their clothes with a different colour, spend more on their families and cook food they do not normally cook. So, these people take the day of Aashooraa as an occasion similar to the occasions of celebrations and happiness [i.e. such as the two eeds]. On the other hand, the Raafidah take it as a day of mourning, grief and pain [i.e. inflicting injuries on themselves]. Both groups are mistaken and have exited the authentic sunnah in this affair.

As for all the other deeds [i.e. the deeds innovated and specified on the day of Aashoraa], such as making food that is not normally made based on the customs of the people – be it grains or other than them, renewing one’s clothing, spending more on [families etc], performing a specific act of worship, such a prayer specified on the day of [Aashooraa], making an intention to offer a sacrifice, preserving the meat of the slaughtered animals to cook it with grains, applying kohl, dying one’s clothing, taking a bath, shaking hands, visiting one another, visiting mosques, [so called] sacred places and other than that, all these deeds are evil and innovations in the religion. Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] never legislated these deeds [on the day of Aashooraa] nor the rightly guided Khulafaa, nor did any of the Imaams of the Muslims, such as Maalik, Ath-Thawree, Al-Layth Bin Sa’d, Abu Haneefah, Al-Awzaa’ee, Ash-Shaafi’ee, Ahmad Bin Hanbal, Ishaaq Bin Raahawayh. Rebuttal Against The Proponents of False Unity

Reader, there are those who call for unity between Alhlus Sunnah and the people of misguidance, so let us ponder upon the following clarification by Shaikh Rabee [may Allaah protect him].

Question to Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee: What is your view regarding the statement of the one who says that indeed unity is a fundamental requirement, so if a person comes along to split that unity, it [is] obligatory to reject him, even if it is Tawheed he [propagates]?

Answer: Does Allaah [The Blessed and Exalted] merely intend unity, even if the Rawaafid, khawaarij, the Baatiniyyah, the grave worshippers and their ilk are part of this unity?! Is this the unity commanded by Allaah? Is this the meaning of Allaah’s [The Blessed and Exalted] statement:  وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ۚ – And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allaah, and be not divided among yourselves]? [Surah Aal Imraan’ Aayah 103]

What is the Rope of Allaah? It is the Qur’aan and [authentic] Sunnah; therefore the bond of Tawheed between you has to be the Book of Allaah. Allaah [The Most High] said:[ إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ – Truly! This, your Ummah is one Ummah, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me [Alone]. [Surah Al-Anbiyaa’ Aayah 92]  This is the unity that Allaah wants- [unity] upon truth and the revelation Allaah- and obligated on us.

On the other hand, what do we call these people [i.e. those who want to unite upon divergent beliefs and methodologies]? [They are either] enemies of the Prophets or foolish ignoramuses [who carry] political views that are in opposition to the methodology of the Prophets, the methodology of Muhammad, the Dawah that consolidates unity upon truth and does not split the religion [i.e. into divergent sects], just as Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] said:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِي شَيْءٍ ۚ إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects [all kinds of religious sects] , you [O Muhammad] have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allah, Who then will tell them what they used to do. [Surah Al-An’aam’ Aayah 159]

The sound Dawah [necessitates] that we unite the people upon the Book of Allaah and the [authentic] Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], so whoever responds will enter – InshaaAllaah- in the shelter of the saved sect and victorious group, and whoever refuses, then indeed he has chosen to be from the destroyed sects- those whom Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu  alayhi wasallam] informed us about; because they [i.e. these sects] refuse to unite under the banner of Tawheed, the Qur’aan and the [authentic] Sunnah, therefore they follow nothing else but the paths which the devils amongst mankind and Jinn call to, and Allaah has not burdened any soul beyond what it can bear.

At present, we experience the end results of these Da’waat [i.e. calls of the deviated sects] on the face of the earth! What is taking place at present in Afghanistan between the people of these calls? What took place after Kabul was liberated [i.e. from the Russians]? Did the people of these calls not start to quarrel and kill one another for sake of position! At present we’ve seen divisions [amongst the groups], except the Dawah of the Imaam – The Mujaddid – Muhammad Bin Abdil Wahhaab [rahimahullaah].

The [upright] scholars of this Dawah have not differed up to this era – no differing in Manhaj,  Aqeedah or politics has occurred between them, because indeed it is a Dawah based on: “Allaah said and Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said”, however others besides them have become [divergent] groups – Jamaa’atut Takfeer [i.e. the Takfeeri Group], Jamaa’atul Jihaad [i.e. the Jihaadi Takfeeris], groups based on splitting and schism, [the emergence] of group after group, without an end…and one cannot find anything to protect them from splitting, [because] that which will protect [this Ummah] from splitting is the Qur’aan [i.e. sound understanding of the Qur’aan based on the understanding of the Sahaabah] and unity upon that. This is why the affair of the sincere ones has been prolonged and amongst those sincere ones are the people upon the Da’wah of Imaam Muhammad Bin Abdil Wahhaab [rahimahullaah], and you will find the [upright] scholars of this Da’wah upon [true and sound] brotherhood- neither differing in Methodology and Creed nor does politics [i.e. innovated political activity] exist amongst them. In the above clarification, Shaikh Rabee [hafidhahullaah] mentioned the devils amongst mankind and jinn, so here we add a hadeeth regarding their evil. Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood[radiyallaahu-anhu] drew a straight line and drew lines to its right and to its left and then said: The Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) drew just like this, and he said about the straight line: This is the path of Allaah and about the lines to its right and left he said: These are different ways, upon each of these ways is a devil calling to it.” Allaah the Exalted said: “And verily, this is my Straight Path, so follow it, and do not follow other paths.”[Al-An’aam 6:153]. Reader, there are also people who seek to distort reality by attributing terrorism to Salafiyyah, so they deliberately fail to distinguish the Salafis from the false claimants to Salafi methodology. Therefore, let’s ponder upon the following statements of Shaikh Rabee [may Allaah preserve him] when he stated:

The political parties [or groups] emerged in this era [whilst] affected- to some extent- by the creed and methodologies of [the khawaarij]. And for this reason they do not give importance to [other affairs] besides politics. Neither do they give any concern to rectifying the situation of the Ummah though [sound] Creed and Knowledge nor do reflect upon [the affair about] returning the Ummah to the Book, the [authentic] Sunnah, and the piety and steadfastness the Salafus Saaleh were upon in every aspect of the Religion. Rather they [i.e. these political parties (or groups)] increase the Ummah in corruption upon corruption-in creed and manners. So, you see them giving allegiance to the people of Bidah and Misguidance; waging war against the people who [truly] follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, and the scholars [i.e. waging war against those scholars who truly adhere to the Qur’aan and the Sunnah].

They erect false objectives and  slogans for Ahlul Bidah Wad-Dalaalah [the people of religious innovation and Misguidance] and their books; and amongst them [i.e. these people of bidah] are Sayyid Qutb and his followers – the one [i.e. Sayyid Qutub] who embark upon the stratagem of the Khawaarij, the Rawaafid, the Mu’tazilah and the Jahmiyyah in creed, methodology and politics; especially in the subject matter of Takfeer based on oppression and ignorance [i.e. he make Takfeer based on ignorance and oppression]. According to him all human societies are societies of Pre-Islamic ignorance and the Muslim Ummah is the severest in its apostasy and Pre-Islamic state of ignorance. Thereafter, the path of the Baatiniyyah was added to this [methodology of his, such] as assassinations, blowing up [buildings, people etc]. Then his followers attribute themselves to the Salafi Methodology based on a mighty plot against the [true, upright] leaders [of the Salafi Methodology].

[Therefore], when you come to know this, you will know that the Salafi Methodology is free from this [type] of Takfeer, [the evil act of blowing up buildings, people etc] and destruction; and you will know who the treacherous people are. If you know this, then it is tantamount to an act of manifest oppression when the Raafidah, the Secularists and Rationalists attribute [terrorist acts], [false] Takfeer and destruction to the Salafi Methodology.
