I sit with Ahlus Sunnah and I sit with ahlul bidah!

قيل للإمام الأوزاعي إن رجلاً يقول:أنا أجالس أهل السنة وأجالس أهل البدع

فقال الأوزاعي:هذا رجل يريد أن يساوي بين الحق والباطل

الإبانة-2/456

It was said to Imaam Al-Awzaa’ee (rahimahullaah): Indeed a man says, ‘I sit with Ahlus Sunnah and I sit with ahlul bidah.’

So Al-Awzaa’ee said: This man wants to equate truth with falsehood.

Reflecting upon those whom Allah has favoured – Shaykh Ibnul Uthaymeen

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen – rahimahullah- said:

The statement of Allah “The path of those whom you have favoured” is an evidence that it’s upon us to look into the lives of those whom Allah has favoured, as to who they were and what their condition was. This is so that we may be guided to their path. And an extension to that is an encouragement for us to know the biography of The Prophet – صلى الله عليه وسلم – due to him being the most favoured by Allah.

Ahmad Bin Abu Sulaymaan (rahimahullaah) said: I heard Sahnoon Bin Sa’eed (rahimahullaah) saying:

”The most daring of  the people to issue fatwaa are the ones with the least knowledge amongst them.  A man may possess a chapter of knowledge and thus thinks that all truth is contained within it.”

[17] Advice for seekers of knowledge- an example in Imaam Ahmad!

[16] Advice for seekers of knowledge—Never feel shy to say I do not know!

Ash-Shabiy (rahimahullaah) was asked (about an affair of the deen), so he said: “I don’t know.” Then it was said to him, “Do you not feel shy of your statement” I don’t know” and you’re the faqeeh of the people of Basra?” So he said: “But the angels did not feel shy when they said [i.e. Allaah said that the angels said: قَالُواْ سُبۡحَـٰنَكَ لَا عِلۡمَ لَنَآ إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمۡتَنَآ‌ۖ-They (angels) said: “Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us.
