What Should One Do to Love Allaah and For Allaah to Love Him or Her?!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِ اللّهِ أَندَاداً يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ اللّهِ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ أَشَدُّ حُبًّا لِّلّهِ

And of mankind are some who take (for worship) others besides Allah as rivals (to Allah). They love them as they love Allah. But those who believe, love Allah more (than anything else). [2:165]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: The (true) believers love Allaah more than the love that the idol worshippers have for the partners they associate with Allaah in worship. That is because they [believers] have a pure and sincere love for Allaah; as for the Mushrikoon, they associate partners to Allaah in worship out of the love they have for their false objects of worship. The believers love The One [Allaah] who deserves true love in reality, for true love of Allaah is the very thing upon which depends the rectification of a person, his happiness and success. As for the Mushrikoon, they love those who are not worthy of being given any love, rather having love for such things is the very reason behind wretchedness, corruption and loss. [1]

Allaah (The Most High) said:
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ

Verily, they (i.e. Prophets) used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. [21:90]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: They used to hasten towards the performance of good deeds and carried them out in the most virtuous times. They carried out those good deeds in a befitting manner and in the manner it is obligated. They never left a virtuous deed they were able to perform; rather they took the opportunity to perform it. And they used to call upon Allaah with Hope and Fear – asking Allaah for those good things that are desired in the worldly life and afterlife. And they used to seek Allaah’s Refuge from those frightening things which bring about harm in this life and the next. So they had fear and hope, and they were not heedless, inattentive and arrogant. [Ref 2]

Al-Allaamah Saaheh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah] said: We should know that fear of Allah should be combined with love and hope, so that fear does not become a cause of giving up hope in Allaah’s Mercy. A believer should have both fear of Allaah and hope in Allaah’s Mercy, so that fear alone does not lead him to give up hope in Allaah’s mercy, nor will hope alone make feel secure from Allaah’s plan. That is because giving up hope in Allaah’s Mercy and feeling secure from Allaah’s plan are two affairs that negate perfect Tawheed. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[فَلَا يَأۡمَنُ مَڪۡرَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرُونَ – None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers]. [7:99]

And Allaah [The Most High] said: [إِنَّهُ ۥ لَا يَاْيۡـَٔسُ مِن رَّوۡحِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ – Certainly no one despairs of Allah’s Mercy, except the people who disbelieve.” [12:87]

And Allaah said: [ وَمَن يَقۡنَطُ مِن رَّحۡمَةِ رَبِّهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ – “And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray. [15:56] Ismaa’eel Ibn Raafi (rahimahullaah) said, ”Feeling secure from Allaah’s plan is when the slave is persistent in committing sin, whilst hoping for Allaah’s forgiveness’’. The Scholars (rahimahumullaah) say, ”Despair is to distance oneself from having hope for relief and losing hope in that, and it is the opposite of feeling secure from Allaah’s plan. Both these two affairs are a great sin. It is neither permissible for a believer to adhere to fear alone, and thus despairs of Allaah’s Mercy, nor should he adhere to hope alone, and thus feels secure from Allaah’s punishment; rather he should have fear and hope – fearful due to his sins, performs acts of obedience to Allaah and hopes for Allaah’s Mercy, just as Allaah [The Most High] stated:

إِنَّهُمۡ ڪَانُواْ يُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِى ٱلۡخَيۡرَٲتِ وَيَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبً۬ا وَرَهَبً۬ا‌ۖ وَڪَانُواْ لَنَا خَـٰشِعِينَ

Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us. [21:90]

And Allaah said:

[ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ يَبۡتَغُونَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمُ ٱلۡوَسِيلَةَ أَيُّہُمۡ أَقۡرَبُ وَيَرۡجُونَ رَحۡمَتَهُ ۥ وَيَخَافُونَ عَذَابَهُ ۥۤ‌ۚ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ كَانَ مَحۡذُورً۬ا – Those whom they call upon [like ‘Iesa (Jesus) – son of Maryam (Mary), ‘Uzair (Ezra), angel, etc.] desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord (Allah), as to which of them should be the nearest and they [‘Iesa (Jesus), ‘Uzair (Ezra), angels, etc.] hope for His Mercy and fear His Torment. Verily, the Torment of your Lord is something to be afraid of! [17:57]

When fear of Allaah and hope in Allaah are combined, it urges a slave (i.e. a worshipper of Allaah) to perform deeds and utilise the beneficial means to that; for indeed alongside having hope in Allaah’s Mercy, he performs acts of obedience and hopes for reward; and by way of fear, he abandons disobedience due to being fearful of Allaah’s punishment. But if he despairs of Allaah’s Mercy, he may stop performing righteous deeds, and if he feels secure from Allaah’s punishment, he is pushed towards acts of disobedience. [3]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمٌ۬ – Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful]”. [Surah Aal Imraan Ayah 31]

This Ayah is conveyed to everyone who claims to love Allaah, whilst he is not one who truly follows Allaah’s Prophet Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]- by obeying the Prophet’s command and keeping away from what he has forbidden. Therefore, unless he [i.e. the one who claims to love Allaah] truly follows the Messenger, then indeed he is not truthful in his claim [i.e. that he loves Allaah] [3.1]

Footnote h: Shaikh Abu Iyaad [may Allaah preserve him] stated that Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] gives a lengthy explanation of this – which is another of the doubts of the Jahmiyyah – in his book “Sharh Hadeeth in-Nuzool”, towards the end of it (p.320 onwards), and the essence of it is is that this question only arises when it is presumed that the kaifiyyah of Allaah’s Descent is like the descent of created beings, for when you presume that, then this doubt arises. So as Imaam Malik said, as mentioned by Br. Moosaa, regarding Istiwaa and as Abu Ja’far at-Tirmidhi (the faqih of Bagdhad, d. 295H) said,as mentioned by ad-Dhahabi in al-Uluww (p. 231), regarding the nuzool: quote: the Nuzool is ma’qool (understood), and the kayf is majhool (unknown), to have faith in it is obligatory and asking about it is an innovation. And in summary, we hold that:

– Allaah descends without Him leaving the Throne, He remains above the Throne

– Allaah descends without coming under or beneath the heaven – and as the Salaf said to the Jahmiyyah who raised such doubts in relation to the nuzool, “We believe in a Lord who does whatever He wills”

– To all people in all parts of the earth, alongside the variation in the night and day, Allaah’s descent is for them during the last third of their night – and we are not able to understand the kaifiyyah of that – just like we are not able to understand the kaifiyyah of how Allaah will do the hisaab (accounting) of all the people at the same time.

Ibn Taymiyyah says, “As for the nuzool that is not of the type of the nuzool of the (created) bodies of the servants, then it is not impossible that it occurs at the same time for a great number of the creation … and this is like His reckoning of His servants on the Day of Judgement, He will reckon all of them within a single hour, and all of them will be alone with Him, just like a man is alone with the moon on a clear night, and He will make him affirm his sins, and that one being reckoned will not see that He is reckoning others besides him” (p.334)

And then Ibn Taymiyyah brings ahaadeeth in this regard, and he also mentions the hadeeth of Allaah responding ot the servant when he recites al-Faatihah in the prayer, so Allaah says, “My servant praised me” and so on, and this is to every one who prays, at the same time, and likewise Allaah sees everyone all at the same time, and he provides for everyone all at the same time, so likewise, the nuzool – if we remove that presumption of “kayf” that is prohibited which is that the nuzool is like that of the created bodies – then we are not subject to this doubt, and then we are able to affirm it for Allaah without tashbeeh and tamtheel and without any caution in that.

And in all of this there is sufficiency for the believer who affirms what Allaah affirmed for Himself without takyeef and without ta’teel and without tamtheel. [salafitalk.net]

Footnote i: Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A man is upon the religion of his best friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends.” [Tirmidhee 2378] Muhammad Ibn Munkadir used to say, ”A righteous companion is better than loneliness & loneliness is better than an evil companion.” [Bahjatul Majaalis 1/48′ by Ibn Abdul Barr]

Ubaadah Bin Saamit [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that he heard the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] saying that Allaah [The Most High] said:

حقَّت محبتي للمتحابين فيَّ
وحقت محبتي للمتواصلين في

Methodology of a Follower of The Pure Sunnah When Rulers Give Precedence to Others With Wealth, Position etc

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri [may Allaah be pleased with him] said, “The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Allaah never sends a Prophet or gives the Caliphate to a Caliph, except that he (the prophet or the Caliph) has two groups of advisors: A group advising him to do good and exhorts him to do it, and the other group advising him to do evil and exhorts him to do it. But the protected person (against such evil advisors) is the one protected by Allah”. (1)

Few Reminders From The Above Hadeeth

a: With regards to a prophet, there maybe those who seek to divert him from what is good, but it can never be the case that he will listen to them, because the Prophets are protected by Allaah and at the end of the hadeeth it is stated, “But the protected person (against such evil advisors) is the one protected by Allah”. Therefore, the presence of one who seeks to direct a Prophet to evil does not necessitate that the Prophet will accept what he says.

It is also said that the intent behind the two advisers (mentioned in this hadeeth with regards to their relationship) to a Prophet are the angles and shaytaan, (as the Prophet said in a hadeeth), “There is no one among you but a companion from among the jinn has been assigned to him.” They said, “Even you, O Messenger of Allaah?’ He said, “Even me, but Allaah helped me with him and he became Muslim (or: and I am safe from him), so he only enjoins me to do that which is good.” (2)

In another narration, it is stated that the person is assigned a companion among the jinn and a companion among the angels. (3)

b: “But the protected person (against such evil advisors) is the one protected by Allah” – Meaning Allaah is the one who protects whoever He wishes. So, in reality you cannot find anyone who can protect himself except if Allaah protects him.

c: It is incumbent upon a ruler to have a person who unveils to him the circumstances of the people in private, and this person should be trustworthy, reliable, smart and sensible, because calamity befalls a reliable ruler due to accepting speech of one who is not trustworthy.

Also, the one who is given responsibility over the affairs of the people may always accept the speech of good advisers and not that of evil advisers. This is what is suitable to attribute to a Prophet and it is established by the word [ عصمة – protection] at the end of the hadeeth.

It may be that a ruler accepts the speech of evil advisers, especially someone who is a disbeliever. So, he may accept the speech of these people at times (i.e. evil people) and the speech of those at other times (i.e. good people). (4)

How to Behave When The Rulers Give Precedence to Themselves and Others

Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Indeed, you will see Atharatan after me and affairs you’ll disapprove; they [i.e. the people] said, ‘What do you command us O Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasaallam]?’ He said, ‘Fulfil their rights [i.e. the rulers] and ask Allaah for your rights’”.

Atharatan: meaning- [some people will give precedence to themselves (i.e. spend wealth on themselves and engage in worldly enjoyment, but will not give others their rightful share)].

Al-Allaamah Zaid Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [rahumahullaah] said: This authentic hadeeth is related to the affair of the rulers- during the end of time – when they will give precedence to themselves through enjoyment of the worldly things and those under their authority will face harm, something of oppression and tyranny; so the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] guided and directed the people to fulfil the rights of the rulers; obey and listen to them in that which is good- whether it is during a time in which one is enthusiastic [to listen and obey them in what is good] or feeling laxadaisical- perform Jihaad behind their banner against the enemies of the religion, establish the prayer and behave in a manner obligated by the Islamic legislation. They should not rebel against the ruler just because he is a sinner or an oppressor, nor refrain from giving him the rights obligated on them to give him; rather they should fulfil his rights just as the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] commanded them, saying, “Fulfil their rights”.

Therefore, the ruler has rights that should be fulfilled by his subjects and the subjects also have rights to be fulfilled by the ruler. It is obligated on the ruler to fulfil their rights and it is obligated on them to fulfil his rights. However, if he [i.e. the ruler] falls short in something related to their rights, it is not permissible for them to [deliberately] fall short in fulfilling his rights. And due to the great importance of rulership and the rulers, indeed the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] commanded them to fulfil the obligation of As-sam’i Wat-taa’ah [i.e. to listen and obey the ruler in good], refrain from disobedience[when commanded to do something good], supplicate to Allaah to make their affairs easy and change their state of affairs to that which is good, aid them to fulfil their needs and those affairs they cannot do without.

This hadeeth contains a miracle of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and that is the fact that he clearly stated that during the end of time, the rulers will give precedence to themselves with something of wealth and worldly enjoyment, and others will be deprived of it. Also, there will be affairs which the people of sound judgement will reject. [So], when this era comes, it is obligated on them – those under the rulership of a Muslim ruler – to listen and obey in that which is good, fulfil the rights that have been obligated on them to fulfil and seek their rights from Allaah – meaning: they supplicate to Allaah to aid them in fulfilling their needs and facilitate them with ease in their affairs. And Allaah knows best. (5)

[6] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Yahyah Al-Hajuri]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]- [Conclusion of Part 1 of This Series]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ – The heart (of the Prophet) lied not about what it saw (of the signs of Allāh, and Gabriel on the Night of Ascent)] (1)

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated in his explanation of this Aayah [Surah An-Najm Aayah 11]:

This is because the eye may see something and the heart will deny it, and the heart may see something and the eye may belie it. For example, a person may see an individual with his own eyes and think that he is so-and-so the son of so-and-so, but the heart belies this because he knows that so-and-so the son of so-and-so was not in this place. So, the eye may see and the heart belie, or vice versa. A person may imagine something in his heart, but the eye belies it. As for what the Prophet [صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم ] saw on the night of Miraaj, [فإنه رآه حقا ببصره وبصيرته – then indeed he truly saw it (ببصره – i.e. with his sight – eyes) and (وبصيرته- i.e. with the insight that includes the mind, heart and soul based on perfect knowledge and certainty, without a shadow of a doubt]. [End of quote]

Indeed, we quoted the above as a reminder regarding the situation of those specific blazing hizbiyyoon – at Markaz Tawheed – who accused us of dropping or abandoning people without justification! That is because their affair is not that they carry misconceptions – in this affair – with regards to their perception of why we distanced those personalities, but rather they deliberately uttered this statement to fabricate lies and dupe the common people, whilst knowing fully well that what they utter is a lie and an attempt to distort reality. So, their affair is nothing but a desire for blatant lies and slander in order to protect their deviated figureheads because they know that the Salafiyyoon will definitely warn against them and provide unambiguous proofs regarding why this blessed Salafi Methodology necessitates that their figureheads are to be distanced or abandoned. We’ve already unveiled their lies in the following posts:

[1] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars (Faalih Al-Harbi)! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

[1.2] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Faalih Al-Harbi and Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

[3] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Fawzi Al-Bahrayni]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

[4] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Ali Al-Halabi and Saleem Al-Hilaali]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

[5] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Saalim At-Taweel]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

We Are Dealing With Specific Individuals at [Markaz Tawheed- Stoke On Trent] With a Severe or (Chronic) Hizbiyyah Syndrome!

As for Yahyah Al-Hajuri Al-Haddaadi [may Allaah guide him] and his great calamities, then indeed that is well known and documented. Visit: http://www.alhajuri.com/authors/Abu.Iyaad.cfm We ask Allaah bless Shaikh abu Iyaadh for this outstanding effort, increase him in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds Aameen.

Finally, let us remind ourselves of one of his Haddaadi traits in supplication when he asked Allaah to destroy Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari just as Abu Lahab was destroyed!! Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated in his Tafseer of Juz Amma that [Allaah began with (mention) of Abu Lahab’s two hands: “Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab” because they are the instruments of work and movement, giving and taking. Likewise, we find the scholars mentioning that Allaah censured Abu Lahab with this great censure, which is ignominy for him in this life and the next-a complete loss and wretchedness, and he will achieve no success. He died a disbeliever and was not benefited by his worldly possessions. Scroll for short audio in this link in which the Haddaadi stated: “May you perish O Bukhaari just as the two hands of Abu Lahab perished, and perish he!”

This is the person – amongst others – they say we have abandoned without justification! Indeed, with regards to this affair, those specific blazing hizbiyyoon – at Markaz Tawheed – are nothing else, but vile deceivers, concealers, slanderers and liars. So, we remind them again that Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Beware of kadhib [lying], for indeed it corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information based on what it should be in reality. It corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information and his ability to teach the people. The liar portrays what is non-existent as something present and what is present as something non-existent. He portrays truth as something false and falsehood as something true; he portrays good as evil and evil as good, so this corrupts his conception and knowledge, which then becomes a punishment upon him. Then he portrays what is not true to the one deceived by him – the one who is inclined towards him- so he corrupts his conception and knowledge. The soul of the liar turns away from the existing reality -inclined towards what is non-existent and gives preference to falsehood. And when his conception and knowledge is corrupted, which is the basis of every wilful chosen deed, his deeds become corrupt and marked by lies, so those deeds would emanate from him just as lies emanate from the tongue- he neither benefits from his tongue nor his deeds. This is why lying is the basis [or foundation] of immorality, just as the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Indeed lies lead to immorality [or wickedness] and indeed immorality [or wickedness] leads to the fire. [Bukhaari 2606/2607] Firstly lies emerges from the heart and then on the tongue, so it corrupts it; then it transfers to the limbs and corrupts its actions, just as it corrupts the statements of the tongue. Therefore, lying prevails over his statements, deeds and state of affairs; corruption becomes deeply rooted in him and its disease leads to destruction if Allaah does not grant him cure him with the medication of truthfulness, which uproots its (i.e. lying) from its original source. This is why the basis [or foundation] of all the deeds of the hearts is based on truthfulness; and the basis of their opposites – such as showing off, self-amazement, pride, being glad [with ungratefulness to Allaah’s Favours], conceitedness, boastfulness, insolence, weakness, laziness, cowardice, disgrace and other than them- is lies. The origin of every righteous deed- whether carried out in private or public- is based on truthfulness. And the origin of every corrupt deed – whether carried out in private or public- is lies”. [Al-Fawaa’id. pages 202-203]

This is the conclusion of this series and the next series -InShaaAllaah – will address their false, deceptive and absurd claims regarding unity. We ask Allaah:

O Allah! By Your Knowledge of the unseen and by Your Power over creation, let me live if life is good for me, and let me die if death is good for me; O Allah! I ask You to grant me (the blessing of having) fear of You in private and public; And I ask you (to make me utter) a statement of truth in times of contentment and anger; And I ask You for moderation when in a state of wealth and poverty; And I ask you for blessings that never ceases; And I ask You for the coolness of my eye that never ends; And I ask You (to make me pleased) after (Your) decree; Aand I ask You for a life of (ease, comfort, tranquility etc) after death; I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face (i.e. in the Hereafter) and yearning to meet You without any harm and misleading trials (coming upon me); O Allah! Adorn us with the adornment of Eemaan, and make us (from those who are) guided and guiding (others). [Sunan An-Nasaa’ee’ Number 1305 & declared Saheeh by Imaam Albaani (rahimahullaah) in As-Saheehah Number 1301]

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil. [5] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Saalim At-Taweel]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Umar [may Allaah be pleased with him] said, The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “People were (sometimes) judged by the revealing of a Divine Inspiration during the lifetime of Allah’s Messenger but now there is no longer any more (new revelation). Now we judge you by the deeds you practice publicly, so we will trust and favour the one who does good deeds in front of us, and we will not call him to account about what he is really doing in secret, for Allah will judge him for that; but we will not trust or believe the one who presents to us with an evil deed even if he claims that his intentions were good”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari. Number 2641]

Saalim at-Taweel is a companion of Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli – the one who attempted to open the floodgates of Tamyee by way of erroneous judgements on texts related to sound Manhaj positions to be taken against ahlul bidah.

Firstly, let us remind the specific individual or individuals – the blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed- about companionship! Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) said, the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, “A person is upon the religion of his friend, so let each one of you look at whom he befriends”. [As-Saheehah: 97] Ibn Mas’ ood (radiyallaahu-anhu) said: Indeed a person walks alongside and accompanies the one whom he loves and who is like him. (Al Ibaanah 2/476] Al A’maah (rahimahullaah) said: They (the Salaf) did not used to ask anything more about a person after having asked about three affairs: Who he walks with, who he enters upon (i.e. visits) and who he associates with amongst the people”. [Al Ibaanah 2/478] Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood (radiyallaahu anhu) said: Make consideration of the (regions of the) earth by the names given to them and make consideration of a person by his companion”. [Ibaanah 2/497] Mu’aadh Bin Mu’aadh said to Yahyah bin Sa’eed, “aa Abaa Sa’eed! A person may hide his viewpoint from us, but he will not be able to hide this in his son or friend or in one whom he sits with”. [ Ibaanah 2/436] [Translated by Spubs]

Secondly, one of the subject matters of this robust and infallible Salafi Manhaj which Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli sought to weaken was the subject matter of Hajr [the legislated boycotting], but he was stopped in his Tamyee footsteps by Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi, Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri and Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari [may Allaah preserve them]. It was obligatory on Dr (Ibraaheem)- whilst he was giving advice about boycotting and its precise principles– to clarify the true picture of boycotting held by the Salaf because a deficient clarification in this affair is a great shortcoming that will lead to an incorrect understanding of this great fundamental. That is because it is understood from Dr Ibraaheem’s speech that boycotting has a singular image, but the truth is that it of different types, and from them: To refrain from giving salaam (i.e. refrain from giving salaam to the figureheads of bidah, those who openly manifest their wicked acts etc); refrain from sitting with them; refrain from honouring them and the important people (i.e. such as the scholars and other pious leaders) are to refrain from praying their Janaazah.

[Part 1 (A-D): Observations on Dr Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli’s Deficient and Defective Advice To Ahlus Sunnah Regarding Boycotting- Dr Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari Establishes The True Understanding of The Salaf]

Ibraaheem ar-Ruhayhi – the companion of Saalim at-Taweel – has not recanted his errors and this is the same Saalim at-Taweel defended by Shaikh Falaah Ismaa’eel [may Allaah have mercy upon him]. Indeed, the company of Ibraaheem Ar-Ruhayli and Saalim at-Taweel is an extremely toxic one, therefore Shaikh Falaah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] found himself within circumstances which the Salafiyyoon could not compromise due to the confusion and ambiguity it would have caused.

Thirdly, perhaps the reason Saalim receives sympathy from the specific individual or individuals – blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed – is because he visited their allies (the blazing and obstinate hizbiyyoon of Greenlane).

Also Saalim At-Taweel spread lies about Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah protect them from every evil].

A statement of Saalim At-Taweel’s- disseminated in the (website) Kullu Salafiyyeen has reached me that the Shaikh Al-Allaamah Ubaid (may Allaah preserve him) delegated me (i.e. put me in charge) in the affairs of divorce and khula and what is similar to that. This-by Allaah-is a lie and fabrication against the Shaikh (may Allaah preserve him) and we say: ‘’Glory be to You (O Allah) this is a great lie.’’ Rather we were advised and encouraged to refer back to the people of knowledge in these affairs (of divorce and khula) and other than them. This is what has occurred from us and it is what we have done (i.e. we refer these affairs and other than them to the scholars) and all praise is due to Allaah in the beginning to the end of (all affairs) and the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqoon, and there is no enmity except against the oppressors.

Written by: Abu Khadeejah
Al-Maktabah As-Salafiyyah Birmingham (Britain)

The above Arabic clarification was forwarded to us via WhatsApp by Ustaadh Abu Tasneem -Mus’haf Al-Banghaali (May Allaah preserve him)

Saalim At-Taweel has still not recanted this lie!

Finally, once again we say to the specific individual or individuals – blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz Tawheed who claim that we are people who abandon others without justification- that the Prophet [peace annd blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The best of the people are those living in my generation, then those who will follow the latter and then those who come after them. Then there will come after them people who will be treacherous and will not be trustworthy, they will bear witness without being asked to do so, and they will vow, but will never fulfil their vows, and fatness will appear among them”.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah protect him from every evil] said, “They give false testimony, act treacherously and deceitfully. They behave in a very sinful manner and follow evil desires, except those whom Allaah safeguards amongst the Taa’ifatul Mansoorah [i.e. the aided group of Muslims upon the straight path] – those whom Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] praised. Therefore, it is obligated on us to acquire knowledge for the sake of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and act upon it. Ignorance is a deadly disease and knowledge is a weapon that will destroy you if you do not act upon it, and Allaah’s refuge is sought. [Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm pages 268-270]

Imaam An-Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated regarding the statement, “They will bear witness without being asked to do so”, this can mean that they bear witness before being asked, or they bear witness based on falsehood, or they give witness without being from those who are worthy of it. [For further details see Sharh Saheeh Muslim 12/17]

However, there is another Hadeeth in which the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] stated, “Should I not inform you about the best of witnesses, they are those who bear witness before being asked”. The scholars say that what is intended by this hadeeth is for example: someone has a witness to give on behalf of another person based on truth, but the person does not know about it, so he [i.e. the one who should give the witness] informs the person about it; or for example, a person has already passed away and another person knows what the deceased person has left behind as inheritance, so he bears witness to that and makes it known. [For further details see Fat-hul Baari 5/260]

And regarding the statement, “And fatness will appear among them”, meaning, these people give importance to the means of fattening themselves – food, drink and over-abundance. So, their only concern is their bodies and fattening themselves. As for being fat without choice, then one cannot be blamed for that, just as a person cannot be blamed for being tall, short, black or white…[For further details, see Majmoo Al-Fataawaa 10/1056 -By Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy upon him)]

Therefore, we remind those specific blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz at-Tawheed that their deception and false witness has been unveiled once again.

[3] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Fawzi Al-Bahrayni]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The over-stringent ones are destroyed”. Imaam Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The over-stringent ones are those who look too deeply (into affairs) and are excessive- those who exceed the Hudood (prescribed legislated Sharee’ah boundaries) in their statements and actions”. (1)

The specific individual or individuals within the ranks of the blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz at-Tawheed insinuated that we abandon people without justification and that Fawzi Al-Bahrayni is one of those personalities we’ve abandoned over the years!

A Brief Acquaintance With Fawzi’s Transgressions

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah preserve him] said: “Indeed, the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah – such as Abdullah Ibn Ahmad, Al-Khallaal, Al-Aajuree, Al-Laalikaa’ee, Ibn Battah and other than them – have clarified the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah regarding Imaan with a profound clarification. And that according to Ahlus Sunnah, it (i.e. Imaan) is “Speech, action and belief- increases with obedience to Allaah and decreases with disobedience”. We worship Allaah with what they say (i.e. this definition), we say it, believed in it from our early age (in pursuit) of knowledge, affirmed in our authorships, lessons and gatherings, and establish loyalty and disavowal based on that.

Then the sinful liars, the spiteful ones and plotters against Ahlus Sunnah came to fight on behalf of the people of desires, and they attacked us with various immoral attacks. One of those attacks is that they (falsely) accuse us of being Murji’ah (see footnote a), and they laid down false and unjust principles for that, with which they fight us. Whenever we destroy them, they repeated them without shame or shyness. Their statement: “Imaan is speech and action, increases and decreases, and it decreases until nothing remains of it”, in their view is that whoever does not mention the addition “until nothing remains of it” is a Murji. (see footnote b) They made it obligatory on the people, wage war against Ahlus Sunnah and declare them innovators in the religion due to it, whilst these Aghmaar (inexperienced ones, ignoramuses, devoid of sound judgement etc) do not know that this Tabdee would apply to the righteous predecessors who did not constantly mention this addition, even if some of them did so. They declared me (i.e. Rabee Bin Haadi) an innovator in religious affairs, pass the judgement of Irjaa (see footnote c) against me and threw it on me a lot in a number of their statements, especially in the statements of Fawzi Al-Bahraini, even though I have mentioned this (additional) statement (related to the definition of Imaan) and repeated it before the birth of the old and new Haddaadi (sect) (see footnote d); but I do not always adhere to its mention, because the Sahaabah and the Taabi’een did not say it, and because there is no evidence to obligate that it should be said. The majority of the (pious) predecessors did not say it, neither did those who said it always said it nor made it obligatory on others, despite the fact that I do say it sometimes. The following are my statements regarding that….Then the Shaikh [may Allaah protect him from every evil] gave references in pages 61-63 regarding where he has stated this addition in his authorships and lessons. We’ll suffice with one InShaaAllaah as follows:

In the above text, the Shaikh quoted a hadeeth explained in 1406AH under the titled “Striving Against Those Who Deviate From The Right Path”: Abdullaah Ibn Mas’ood [may Allaah be pleased with him] said that the Prophet said, “Never a Prophet had been sent before me by Allah to his nation, except that he had – among his people – disciples and companions who followed his ways and obeyed his command. Then there came after them their successors who said whatever they did not practise, and practised whatever they were not commanded to do. He who strove against them with his hand was a believer, he who strove against them with his tongue was a believer, and he who strove against them with his heart was a believer and beyond that there is no faith even to the extent of a mustard seed”. [Saheeh Muslim Hadeeth 50]

Then Shaikh Rabee said, “I explained this hadeeth and stated in page 44 [i.e. in Mudhakkirah Al-Hadeeth An-Nabawiyyah]: ‘And there remained – in every nation – sincere scholars who fulfilled the requirements of their religion- striving and defending the teachings of their Prophets, everyone according to his strength and level of Imaan; the one who strove by way of the tongue (i.e. speech), the one who strove by way of his hand, and the one who strove by way of his heart and that is the weakest of Imaan. And there is nothing of Imaan besides that. [End of Quote] (2)

This is what Fawzi Al-Bahrayni Al-Haddaadi did not verify before opening his vile Haddaadi mouth and then making Tabdee in an affair that is not obligated on anyone; rather this Tabdee of his – as Al-Allaamah Rabee stated- would necessitate Tabdee against the Salaf. Therefore, we remind ourselves again that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “The over-stringent ones are destroyed”. Imaam Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The over-stringent ones are those who look too deeply (into affairs) and are excessive- those who exceed the Hudood (prescribed legislated Sharee’ah boundaries) in their statements and actions”. [Saheeh Muslim Number 2670]

Then those specific blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz at-Tawheed came along whilst insinuating that we abandon people – including the Haddaadi Fawzi – without justification. This is nothing but a smokescreen by way of which they desperately seek to shelter those misguided personalities who visit them from Ihyaa at-Turaath, Greenlane and other places, whilst lying against the Salafiyyoon of Masjid Al-Furqan/Masjid Abi Hurairah, Shaikh Abu Khadeejah and Salafipublications that we drop people without justification. They utilise these lies to hide reality, confuse the common people and corrupt the perception of those who are not acquainted with the reality of these affairs. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim said: “Beware of kadhib [lying], for indeed it corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information based on what it should be in reality. (3)

[1.2] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars [Faalih Al-Harbi and Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi]! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Hasan Ibn Ali [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt. Verily, truth brings peace of mind and falsehood sows doubt”. [Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2518]

Indeed, the specific individual or individuals – who claimed that we are people who drop scholars – either speculated or desperately desired to insinuate that we are guilty of abandoning people without justification. This statement is either based on speculation or it was uttered due to being overwhelmed by evil suspicion that leads to slander. Therefore, we remind them that their affair is either that which is addressed in the above hadeeth reported by Al-Hasan Ibn Ali [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] or it is that which is related to Allaah’s statement: [يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوا كَثِيرًا مِنْ الظَّنِّ إِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ إِثْمٌ – O you who believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicions are sins. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Aayah 12]

Imaam as-Sa’di [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Allaah [The Most High] has forbidden much evil suspicion towards the believers, because some suspicions are sins. And that is like the suspicion devoid of reality and factual evidence, and like the suspicion accompanied by much forbidden speech and action, for indeed the settlement of evil suspicion in the heart does not restrict the one (in whose heart is that evil suspicion) only to that; rather, he does not cease until he utters and does that which is not permissible”. [An Excerpt from Tafseer as-Sadi]

The Reality of Faalih and Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah protect him] stated: “Faalih had been rushing into (unjustified) elimination and declaring people innovators in religious affairs, so some youth asked him for proofs, but the proofs sought from him were not found with him. Then he resorted to the invention of a principle by removing Tabdee (the ruling related to declaring a person an innovator in religious affairs) from the principles of the Imams of Al-Jarh Wat- Tadeel (the carriers of the science of criticism and commendation), and differentiated (in the science of criticism) between the narrators of hadeeth and (when) declaring a person an innovator in religious affairs. So, he held that it is right to ask about the reasons for criticising (or disparaging) the narrators, (but) as for those about whom he holds that that they are innovators in religious affairs, it is not right to ask about the reasons behind disparaging them and declaring them innovators in religious affairs, even if they are from the best of the Salafis; rather the one who asks regarding the reasons why they are declared innovators is declared an innovator (as well). This premise led him to say that the scholars must be blindly followed and not asked for proof. Who did he ask to blindly follow the scholars? Indeed, they are the intelligent students of knowledge, but rather the teachers (in Islamic University) and amongst them are some who have reached the level of doctorate, and not common people; and that the one who does not blindly follow the scholars has indeed undermined the message of the Messengers and the books, or has belied the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and Islam. (see footnote a)

He and his followers thought that he was the only Imam, the protector and protector of the religion. He pushed (incited) them and they pushed (incited) him, and thus he inflicted the heads of Ahlus Sunnah – the strong and the weak amongst them – with false Tabdee and unjust rulings. Whoever does not blindly follow him, even if he holds a doctorate degree in Islamic Sharaa’ah, is considered a denier of the Qur’an, the Sunnah and Islam. The one who does not blindly follow him in his false opinion, even if he was a teacher (at university level), is judged to be one of the callers at the gates of Hell, and that he has destroyed the messages of the Messengers and the books that were revealed to them. This – in addition to insulting, (unjustified) attacks and warning – are matters that are neither approved by Sharee’ah nor (sound) reasoning. These – despite the fact that my advice to him was accompanied with kindness and contained only some of his mistakes – are affairs that should motivate a sane and just person to return to the truth. We did not see anything from Faalih except false denunciations, false interpretations, war, mobilization, and seeking help through supporters amongst those whose identities were unknown – those hiding behind the curtains. At first, he found nothing from the scholars except advice, then denunciation of these matters. (1) [End of quote]

This is an aspect of Faalih’s reality, so the falsity of claim of the blazing hizbiyyoon within the ranks of Markaz At-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent) becomes absolutely manifest to the sensible observer. These same hizbiyyoon [the specific individual or individuals] also mentioned that we have abandoned Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi! Three weeks ago, we were invited to a barbecue – by our Salafi brother Abu Haleemah [Naeem Bashir (Masjid Abi Hurairah/Masjid Furqan)] – together with two of our teachers [Abu Tasneem Mushaf Al-Banghali and another elder brother from Birmingham – a student of Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi]; so when another brother asked about how to deal with the fitna of Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi, we asked the elder brother [i.e. the student of Shaikh Muqbil] to give guidance to the questioner, who said to him, “What we say to Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadi is that you have fallen into one of the same mistakes about which you reprimanded Faalih Al-Harbi, and that is making Tabdee without proof”. Read on the links below by Shaikh Abu Iyaadh and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah: Reminder: Shaykh Rabiʿ’s request for Shaykh Muḥammad bin Hādī to justify his tabdīʿ of Salafī students and shaykhs and to explicitly name the major scholars he accused of being “affected” and “destroyed” by the “Ṣaʿāfiqah” – one month, no answer:]

Finally, we say to those specific individuals – the blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz and allies of Greenlane, Ihyaa At-Turaath and others: “You are well-known for claiming that Taqleed is Haraam, and both Faalih and Shaikh Muhammad are guilty of making Tabdee without proof, so do we blindly follow them or reject their stances?!” This is enough to manifest the fact that your claim about us dropping scholars (i.e. without justification) is a blatant lie and a smokescreen by way of which you seek to defend other figureheads upon error. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The fact that a statement regarding something is lies and falsehood is sometimes known based on the statement in and of itself, its contradictions, perplexity and the manifestation of those clear indications which shows that it is lies. Lies may manifest due to what it is in reality, what is apparent and what is being concealed. It is sometimes known due to the situation of the utterer of the lie, for indeed the one who is known for lying, wickedness and deception, his statements do not show anything else except a state of conformity with his deeds. He does not utter a statement or perform an action similar to that of a pious and truthful person – the one innocent of every evil, deception, lie and wicked behaviour; rather the heart, intention, statements and deeds of the truthful one have the same image; and the heart, statements, deeds and intentions of the liar have the same image. (2)

Footnote a: Faalih led his followers in one extreme direction by seeking to compel people not to ask for evidence even when they are able to study the affairs and reach the correct stance; but also the other misguided path followed by some people is that they say, “I don’t make Taqleed” in order to reject the sound evidences. Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Mad’khalee [may Allaah preserve him] said, “Indeed, rejecting the statements of scholars [i.e. their sound verdicts] – by way of statements whose apparent meaning is sound, but those who utilise them intend falsehood and evil – has become widespread nowadays. [And this statement of truth by way of which falsehood and evil is intended is]: “I do not make Taqleed!!’’ Even though you find him [i.e. the utterer of this statement] to be ignorant, understands nothing [i.e. regarding some or many affairs] in the religion and is one of those who are greatly in need of making Taqleed of the scholars as well as following them. There is [the necessity for] Taqleed and Ittibaa. There is a person who is ignorant and he needs to make Taqleed. Taqleed is a necessity for this person, therefore it is incumbent upon him to make Taqleed of the scholars. The student of knowledge can understand by way of the proofs that such and such scholar is correct and thus he follows the person with proof [i.e. Ittibaa]. This is a level above Taqleed and below the level of the Mujtahid. Some of them [i.e. the people] might say: ‘’I do not make Taqleed’’, even though-in reality- he is a commoner or an evil doer, or a malicious person who desires to speak ill against the scholars and keep the people away from them through these cunning ways. Therefore, let the youth be careful lest they fall into the trap of these fools – those who speak ill of the scholars in such a heedless manner. “I do not make Taqleed of such and such [person]”; we say to him [i.e. the one who utters this statement]: Who commands you to make Taqleed if you are a student of knowledge?! However, if that scholar about whom you say, “I do not make Taqleed of him” has truth with him, then is it permissible to reject the truth through this illusion which you call Taqleed and intend falsehood by way of it?! I warn the youth against despicable behaviour. It has become rife amongst the common people and prevents them from [adhering] to good manners, [sound] religion and [good] character. (3)

[1] You’ve Dropped Many Scholars (Faalih Al-Harbi)! [Response to Hizbiyyoon, Deceivers, and Concealers at Markaz at-Tawheed (Stoke On Trent)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah, even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever WellAcquainted with what you do. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 135]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: When a proof that supports the truth is manifested and the one who wants to repel it finds no way of doing so, he refrains from mentioning it and thus becomes a silent devil, and sometimes he distorts it. Distortion is of two types- distorting words and distorting meanings. Distorting words is when one utters a word in a context in which it does not establish the truth – either adding to the word or omitting something from it, or substituting it with something else- to the extent that the listener is made to believe something, whilst something else is intended by it, just as the Yahood [i.e. those Yahood who disbelieved in the Prophet and hated him] used to distort words when giving Salaam to the Prophet [i.e. saying As-Saamu Alayka (death be upon you), instead of saying Assalaamu alaykum)]. This is one type of distortion. The second type of distortion is related to meanings – distorting the wording; giving it an interpretation that is not intended by the one who uttered it and pretending not to know its unintended meaning; or dropping other meanings intended by it etc.
Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا – and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do]. And when it is the case that a witness is required to bear witness based on what the affair should be [i.e. the complete truth], therefore neither should he hide nor change it. Turning away from the testimony is tantamount to concealment, and distortion is tantamount to alteration and substitution. (1)

Therefore, the affair of the specific individual or individuals at Markaz At-Tawheed – who stated that we are known for dropping scholars – can only be one of two: either they know why Faalih Al-Harbi was refuted and distanced, but they seek to hide the facts, or they do not know the affair and thus have spoken based on conjecture and falsehood. If they know in detail and conceal the facts, then indeed the above Aayah [An-Nisaa 135] is a reminder for them; but if they have spoken based on conjecture, then indeed we remind them of Allaah’s statement:

وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡبَصَرَ وَٱلۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡـُٔولاً۬

And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one’s saying: “I have seen,” while in fact he has not seen, or “I have heard,” while he has not heard). Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allah). [Surah Al-Israa. Aayah 36]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Indeed, we have been commanded to ask Him [The Most High] to guide us to the straight path and this necessitates knowledge of the truth and acting upon it, and the Qur’aan is the cure, guidance and light. The Muslims are agreed that doubt and confusion are unpraiseworthy, and it is expected – absolutely- that a person who does not possess knowledge of something is obligated to keep quiet and seek knowledge via its (sound) sources. (1.1)

Indeed, Faalih Al-Harbi toppled himself due to his own transgressions! Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah protect him] stated, “When affairs escalated, and during this escalation that led to the splitting, I received some papers from a book that had been transcribed from his tapes titled Al-Musaara’ah [The Wrestle]. I read those papers and came across – in them – terrible insults, ignorance, destructive judgments and a corrupt premise. I discussed some of what is in those papers with the utmost kindness and care, asked him to return to the truth in the hope that Allaah might benefit him through it, so that the Salafi youth would be relieved of the causes of disunity and splitting. I sent the first advice to him in private (see footnote a), but he did not respond to this gentle request aimed at stopping the trial and uniting the Salafi youth. Then, after about a month and a half, I sent him and some of his friends the second advice- in private and not openly, despite the fact that he and those who supported him rebuked those who exercised patience and gave advice, and considered that to be tantamount to negligence and an act of weakening the (sound principles, stances). He and his clandestine group entered the dark tunnels, `presented their arguments in a particular way, weakening the (sound principles), defending (themselves) with lies, obscuring (affairs) and insulting – through gestures and open declaration – at everyone who spoke the truth; rather the insult (uttered) by some of them extended to belittling Imaams of Jarh Wat-Tadeel and their fundamental principles. Therefore, now it is necessary to clarify some of what I discussed in the two advices, which I had previously overlooked”. (2)

InShaaAllaah, another post will be prepared with more examples of Faalih Al-Harbi’s calamities, so that the clear proofs are flung in the faces of those blazing hizbiyyoon at Markaz at-Tawheed who parrot the accusation that we have been dropping scholars- a statement that has become normal on the tongues of many of the hizbiyyoon, whilst hiding the reasons why those people have been dropped, such as Faalih Al-Harbi, Fawzi Al-Bahraini, Al-Halabi, Al-Hajuri and their ilk.

Footonote a: Question to Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi Al-Waadi’ee [may Allaah have mercy upon him]: What is the difference between Jarh (criticism) and Nush (advice)?

Response: The difference between criticism and advice is that advice can be in private, between the one advising and the one being advised, and it can be with gentleness and mildness. [فَقُولَا لَهُ قَوْلًا لَّيِّنًا لَّعَلَّهُ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَىٰ – And speak to him (i. Fir’awn) mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah]. [Surah Taa Haa. Aayah 44]

As for criticism, it can be recorded in books and mentioned in councils (sittings), and our predecessors [may Allaah have mercy on them] combined between the two (advice and criticism). Al-Imam Al-Dhahabi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Ratan- and who is Ratan (i.e. Ratan Bin Abdillah Al-Hindi)? A liar amongst the big liars who claimed Suhbah (i.e. that he accompanied the Prophet) after six years has elapsed”.

Imam Ash-Shafi’ee said, “The narration on the authority of Haram bin Othman is Haraam (forbidden)”, and he also says, “Whoever narrates on the authority of al-Bayaadee, may Allaah brighten his eyes”.

When Suwayd Bin Saeed narrated, “He who is infatuated, abstains, conceals (his infatuation) and then all dies, he dies as a martyr”, Yahya Bin Ma’een said, “If I had a horse and a spear, I would have carried out a military expedition against Suwayd”.

Abaan Bin Abee Ayyaash was a man who abstained from those unnecessary but lawful worldly pleasures, a devout worshipper and a virtuous person, but he used to mix up in his transmission of hadeeth; Shu’bah was asked to refrain from (speaking) about Abaan Bin Abee Ayyaash, so he said, “I will see (or wait)”. Then he advised him saying, “Indeed, (this affair is related to the) religion, (and) I can’t (do anything else) except to speak about Abaan Bin Abee Ayyaash (i.e. tell people the mistake he commits in the hadeeth transmission)”. (3)

Question to Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him]: When should advice be given in private or openly?

Response: The one giving advice does what is best. If he sees that it is more beneficial in secret, he advises secretly; if he sees that it is more beneficial to do so openly, he does so; but if the sin is committed in secret, the advice can only be given in secret. If he knows about his brother that he commits a sin in secret, he advises him in secret and does not expose him. But if the sin is committed openly, – seen by the people, for example a person starts drinking alcohol in a gathering, then one must openly disapprove of it; or if a person started calling (others) to drink alcohol or to fornicate, whilst one is present, he should say, “O my brother! This is not permissible”. (4)

Question to Imaam Al-Albaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him]: The statement of some people or the stipulation of some of them is that it is more correct that advice must be given before refutations are printed- a copy must be sent to the one refuted so that it can be looked into. They say this is from the methodology of the pious predecessors.

Response: This is not a condition, but if it is possible and it is hoped that affinity will be attained from this approach – in order not to announce the affair amongst the people, then this is undoubtedly a good thing; but as for making it a condition first and foremost, and secondly, making it a general condition, there is no wisdom in this at all. People, as you all know, are like mines of gold and silver (footnote b), so whoever you know – about him – that he is with us on the path- upon the (sound) methodology and that he accepts advice, then you write to him without making his mistake known, and at least in your view this is good. But this is not a condition, and it would have been impossible (to implement fully) even if it were a condition. How would get his address and how would you be able to correspond with him? Also, will he send you a response or not? These are completely speculative affairs. This condition is very difficult to fulfill, and therefore the issue is not taken as a condition. (5)

Footnote b: Abu Hurairah [may Allaah be pleased with him] narrated that Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “People are like mines of gold and silver; those who were excellent in Jahiliya (during the days of ignorance) are excellent In Islam, when they have an understanding (in the religion), and the souls are troops collected together and those who had a mutual familiarity amongst themselves would have affinity amongst them, and those who opposed one of them, would be at variance with one another”. [Saheeh Muslim 2638]

Usual Annual Reminder to Al-Markazus Salafi and Masjid Al-Furqan (Stoke) -[Imaams, Khutabaa, Elders, Usaateedh, Admin, Trustees, Accountants, Fundraisers, Cleaners, Maintenance People, Regular Attendees of Salawaat Or Study Circles etc]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَقِيمُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ

Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has commanded justice and (said) that you should face Him only in each and every place of worship, and invoke Him only making your religion sincere to Him. As He brought you (into being) in the beginning, so shall you be brought into being (on the Day of Resurrection). [7:29]

[قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ – Say (O Muhammad): My Lord has commanded justice]– meaning: uprightness in worship and justice in dealings- neither oppression nor tyranny. [وَأَقِيمُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ عِندَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ – And you should face Him only in each and every place of worship]- meaning: you should face Allaah only (i.e. worship none but Allaah); strive to accomplish the acts of worship, especially the Salaah, and perform it outwardly (i.e. performed properly with its pillars, conditions and obligation) and inwardly (i.e. with sincerity, khushoo etc) and purify it from every deficiency and corruption. [وَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ – And invoke Him only making your religion sincere to Him]- meaning: intend only Allaah by way of it (i.e. your worship) without associating any partner to Him. (1)

O Admins, Trustees and Helpers In The Masjid! Uthmaan [may Alaah be pleased with him] spent the best part of his wealth to extend the Masjid of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wa sallam] – a masjid in which reward for Salaah is 1000 times superior to Salaah in other Masaajid besides Masjid Al-Haraam; and a Masjid from which Ulamaa, Du’aat and Mujaahideen were prepared to spread the Deen. Imagine the reward that will come to Uthmaan [radiyallaahu anhu] InshaaAllaah. Indeed, people have to be thanked for their efforts and dedication, but the only safe path is that one constantly compares himself and his efforts to that of the pious predecessors, because if we are distracted by our achievements and efforts in our era, we’ll begin to compare ourselves, achievements and efforts to that of the people in our era instead of paying constant attention to the reality of the achievements of the Salaf compared to our achievements, even though we are Salafiyyoon by the grace of Allaah.

One important affair to always remember in a Masjid Committee and in our community is that one should never think that the respect received, one’s efforts, connections or popularity in the eyes of others will be given precedence over the haqq; rather the basis of every affair is solely the Haqq, and co-operating upon Bir and Taqwah. Therefore, beware of placing obstacles and having too many opinions in affairs that are straight forward. Many people who behaved in such a manner have either exhausted themselves or deviated from the correct path, because they became extremely opinionated, afflicted with self-importance and self-amazement, and saw themselves as the beginning and the end of every affair, considered themselves more virtuous and the ones whose efforts stood out. We repeat again that one should always remember that the respect received, one’s efforts, connections or popularity in the eyes of others can never be given precedence over the haqq; rather the basis of every affair is solely the Haqq, and co-operating upon Bir and Taqwah- neither seeking the agreement of others through flattery nor through shared personal goals and ambitions, and thus a person initiates an affair that resembles a house of parliament with different interest groups. Therefore, we ask Allaah to establish all our little efforts upon Bir and Taqwah, and overlook our many shortcomings Aameen. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ – Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa [virtue, righteousness and piety]; but do not help one another in sin and transgression]. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 2]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “This Ayah contains all the Masaalih [beneficial affairs] for the slaves in their worldly affairs and affairs related to the Hereafter- be it between themselves or between them and their Lord; for indeed every servant [of Allaah] finds himself within two circumstances and obligations – either [required] to fulfil the obligations owed to Allaah or the obligations owed to Allaah’s creation. As for the obligations owed to the creation, they include [righteous] association, companionship, aiding one another upon what Allaah loves and obedience to Allaah, and that is the goal behind one’s search for happiness and success in the afterlife. There can be no happiness in the afterlife except through Bir [virtue] and Taqwaa [piety], for it is basis of all affairs of the religion. As for Taqwa, its reality is to act in obedience to Allaah based on Eemaan in Allaah and hoping for Allaah’s Reward; fulfil what Allaah has commanded based on having Eemaan in that which Allaah has commanded and affirming the reward Allaah has promised; abandoning what Allaah has forbidden based on one’s belief that what Allaah has forbidden is forbidden and fearing Allaah’s punishment, just as Talq Bin Habeeb [rahimahullaah] said: ”When Fitna occurs, extinguish it with Taqwa”. So the people said: ”What is Taqwa?” He said: You act in obedience to Allaah upon a light from Allaah [i.e. Eemaan, sincerity etc] and hoping for reward from Allah. And you abandon disobedience to Allaah upon a light from Allah and fearing the punishment of Allah.” This is the best of that which has been stated regarding Taqwa, for indeed there has to be an aim and a goal behind every deed. A deed cannot be considered an act of obedience to Allaah and an act that gets one close to Allaah until it is based on Eemaan, so that which leads to the performance of that deed is solely due to Eemaan – neither [Un-Islamic] customs nor [evil] desires, neither seeking praise nor status and other than it; rather it should be solely based on Eemaan and the aim behind it should be to attain Allaah’s reward and seeking after Allaah’s Pleasure. (2)

It was said to Imaam Ahmad [rahimahullaah], “May Allaah reward you for the good you have (done) for Islaam; so he said, ‘Rather, Allaah has (done) good for me through Islaam. Who am I, and what am I?’” [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa: 11/225]

Sufyaan Bin Uyaynah [rahimahullaah] said, “Indeed, I become angry with myself when I see you come to me, and I say to myself: These people have not come to me, except due to the good thoughts they have about me.” [Hilyatul Awliyaa: 7/285]

Sa’eed Bin Ismaa’eel [rahimahullaah] said, “Fear of Allaah leads you to the [path, obedience and pleasure etc.] of Allaah; self-amazement within your soul cuts you off from Allaah and belittlement of the people within your soul is a disease that does not heal”. [Shu’ab Al-Imaan: 10/494]

Also beware of arrogance in your path of knowledge, especially when you excel your contemporaries. Kab Al-Ahbaar [rahimahullaah] said to man who came to him and was from those who sought after hadeeth, “Fear Allaah! Increase upon what you already possess without [seeking] to be elevated in the gathering and do not harm anyone, for indeed if your knowledge filled what is between the heavens and the earth alongside self-amazement, Allaah will not increase you in it (i.e.in this knowledge) except ignominy and deficiency! So the man said, ‘May Allaah have mercy upon you O Father of Ishaaq! Indeed, they lie about me and harm me’. So he [Kab] said to him, ‘Indeed, the Prophets were lied against and harmed, and they exercised patience; therefore exercise patience, and if not, then you are destroyed’”. [Hilyatul Awliyaa: 5/376]

Therefore, neither should we be oblivious nor allow any praise to divert us from reality, rather we should constantly seek the Aid of Allaah and strive to focus on the fact that the goal is Ikhlaas, Ibaadah, striving to follow the path of our Salafus Saaleh, returning to repentance, asking Allaah [The Exalted] constantly to include us amongst those who truly fear Him, especially after performing deeds, and include us amongst those granted a good departure from the life of this world (Husnul Khaatimah). Aa’isha [radiyallaahu-anhaa] said, “I ask the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) about this Ayah: [وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ – And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear] [23:60]; are they those who drink alcohol and commit theft? He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘O daughter of Siddeeq! Rather they are those who observe fasting, perform prayer and give charity, whilst fearing that their deeds will not be accepted from them’”. [Reported by Imaam Tirmidee Number: 3175]

Hasan Al-Basri [rahimahullaah] said: The believer combines between perfection (in worship) and fear (that his deeds will be rejected); and the hypocrite combines between evil (deeds) and feeling safe from [Allaah’s punishment]. [Madaarij As-Saalikeen: 1/512]

Allaah (The Most High) has stated:
وَأَسِرُّوا قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اجْهَرُوا بِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ

And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything). [67:13-14]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: This is from the highest degree of affirmation, because indeed it is the case that the Creator knows His creatures; therefore if you affirm that indeed He is your Creator and the Creator of your hearts and what they contain [or all that is within the hearts], then how can (anything) be hidden from Him when it is the fact that He created them?! And the statement [بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ – what is in the breasts (of men)] includes what the breasts contain of beliefs, intents, love and hate. [Source: An Excerpt from Badaa’i At-Tafseer Al-Jaami Limaa Fassarahu Al-Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) page 173]

Therefore, noble brothers and sisters at Al-Markazus Salafi and Masjid Al-Furqan, let us always remind one another and never be amazed by by our little achievements, efforts in the Masjid or outside of it, regardless of the good suspicions of the people; rather we should constantly fear for ourselves whilst having having good suspicions of our Lord that He will guide us, forgive us and grant us a good departure from this world.

Wallaahul Musta’aan!

O Allah! Rectify my religion for me, which is the safeguard of my affairs; rectify my worldly [affairs], wherein is my livelihood; and rectify my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me [as a means of] increase in every good and make death for me as a rest from every evil.

Message Received From France:

Question : Your son Abdur Rahman Muhammad Al-Asiri says, “Is it permissible for us to eat meat slaughtered in a manner other than the Islamic way, knowing that there is no other restaurant designated for lunch during lunch time? Even though that is permissible because it is from the meat slaughtered by the People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), however I know that it is not slaughtered, but rather it was done by way of strangulation, shooting or with specific machines?”

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] responded: The meat slaughtered by the people of the Scripture is lawful for us due to the statement of Allaah [وَطَعَامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَكُمْ – The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you]. [Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 5]

Neither is it permissible for us to ask nor is it obligated on us to ask how they slaughtered them; and whether they uttered the name of Allaah over it or not; but rather it is not legislated for us to ask, because the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] – as reported in Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree- was asked by a people, who said, “O Allaah’s Messenger! Some people bring us meat, but we do not know whether they mentioned the name of Allaah over it or not”. He said, “You mention (the name of Allaah over it) and eat”. [Al-Bukhaari 2057]

This shows that it is not legislated for a person to ask about the slaughtered meat of someone whose slaughtered meat is permissible (to eat) as to how he slaughtered it? And whether he did mention the name of Allaah over it or not? Moreover, when a Jewess gave a goat to the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] at Khaybar, he ate from it and did not ask her how it was slaughtered. Therefore, neither is it legislated nor is it from the Sunnah for a person to ask about the slaughtered meat of someone whose meat is permissible as to how he slaughtered it, and whether he mentioned the name of Allaah over it or not?

But if you are certain that this particular animal that was presented to you was slaughtered in a way other than the Islamic way, by strangulation, shooting, or by throwing it into hot water, or something similar to this, which is not the Islamic way, then it is not lawful for you; just as it is not lawful for you if a Muslim slaughtered it in this way- and the Muslim is undoubtedly better than the Jew and the Christian, and more beloved; then more so (i.e. unlawful) if a Jew or a Christian slaughtered it in manner other than Islamic way. And if the slaughtered meat of the Christians or Jews is varied -meaning, some of them kill (the animal) by strangulation, some by Dhabh [i.e. permissible slaughter at the top of the neck, such as what is done to cows, sheep, goats etc] and  Nahr [permissible slaughter at the bottom of the neck, such as what is done to camels], then indeed there is doubt in the affair as to whether it is from these or one of those? Then a person should be cautious, because the path of precaution for a person – in leaving what is doubtful for what is not doubtful – is better, more appropriate, and more excellent. [End of quote]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections] said:

الْيَوْمَ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ وَطَعَامُ الَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ الْكِتَابَ حِلٌّ لَّكُمْ وَطَعَامُكُمْ حِلُّ لَّهُمْ

The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 5]

This verse makes it clear to us that the food of the People of the Scripture is permissible for us- the Jews and Christians – unless we know that they slaughtered the animals that are permissible to eat in a way other than the Sharee’ah way, such as when they kill it by strangulation, electrocution, hitting the head, and so on, then it is considered a strangled animal or one beaten to death, and thus forbidden for us (to eat), just as an animal strangled and beaten to death by a Muslim is forbidden for us to eat. But if we do not know the reality (or true state of affairs), their slaughtered animal is permissible for us based on the noble verse. As for the fact that they do not mention the name of Allaah on the animal, this is due to their ignorance, and it does not hinder the lawfulness of their slaughtered (animals), just as if a Muslim forgets to mention the name of Allaah, or is ignorant of its ruling at the time of slaughter. [12] Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa – [The Pottymouth Vile Hater]: Conclusion of Section 1 of This Series With a Reflection On Al-Allaamah Ubaid’s Precise Observation, Tribute to Upright UK Salafi Senior Students and The Maraakiz

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Few years ago when Abu Eesa Niamatullah unleashed his vile tirade against the Salafiyyoon, Shaikh Abu Iyaad exposed his reality as follows: “There is a difference between Yasir Qadhi and Abu Eesa Niamatullah. Yasir Qadhi is smarter and shrewder in knowing how to play politics in the public da’wah scene in order to maintain (apparent) consistency. Abu Eesa Niamtullah is dumb and has with him a certain bruteness that strips him of any semblance of aql (intellect). You only need to prod him once and the “pathological hatred” he harbours (whilst accusing others of it) pours out like water out of a jug, and that which he accuses the Salafis of (of unjust rulings on people), pours out freely, without hindrance from his heart and soul with the ferociousness of a lion, yet the thought and intelligence of a domestic turkey. That’s what has happened in short of a few days, and these are realities that Abu Eesa Niamatullah has revealed about himself in short of three pages worth of Facebook rants. This series of articles is an elaboration upon this reality, and whilst some may protest these descriptions we are using here, we are only describing what a man reveals of himself through his speech and action. Further, what are these words of ours compared to what you are going to read from Abu Eesa Niamatullah in the articles to follow? Yes, that’s a question you should start asking now, so that you anticipate the shock before it comes. Go ahead, read Part 3 and try telling us we haven’t spoken the truth. Indeed, at present we witness the same behaviour from the hater Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa, so here – before quoting the precise description given by Al-Allaamah Ubaid regarding Usaamah’s state of affairs, we borrow some of Shaikh Abu Iyaad’s words, whilst attempting to apply some of it to Usaamah’s affair. We say, “Usaamah is dumb and has with him a certain bruteness that strips him of any semblance of aql (intellect). You only need to prod him once and the “pathological hatred” he harbours (whilst accusing others of it) pours out like water out of a jug, and that which he accuses the Salafis of Haddaadiyyah, Khaarijiyyah, Hizbiyyah, pours out freely, without hindrance from his heart and soul with the ferociousness of a lion, yet the thought and intelligence of a domestic turkey. That’s what has happened in short of a few days, and these are realities that Usaamah has revealed about himself recently. We have already responded to his madness in the following links”.

[11b] Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa – [The Pottymouth Vile Hater], Reality of That Which His False Tabdee Necessitates and Calling Him – Between Us and Him – to Invoke The Curse of Allaah Upon The Liars!

Finally, contemplate on that which vile – slanderous – Usaamah has stated about us without an iota of proof – (neither cited a single error of ours that would warrant Tabdee nor a single sound principle to back up his satanic claim that we are Haddaadiyyah, Khawaarij, Hizbiyyoon, and that we pretend to be Salafiyyoon in Aqeedah); then thereafter contemplate on precise statement of Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri [may Allaah protect him] when he stated about Usaamah’s state of affairs: [وصل الأمر إلى حد الجنون والطيش وخفة العقل – the affair has reached the point of madness, recklessness and lightmindedness]!

May Allaah continue to bestow this Ummah scholars the likes of Al-Allaamah Ubaid, for indeed this description regarding Usaamah’s state of affairs is very precise. His affair has reached this state, because – in this particular affair- he has lost the ability to distinguish between good and evil, beauty and repugnance; neither measured his words based on the Sharee’ah nor gave thought to its extremely evil consequences, but rather he is one drowned in blameworthy hatred and vain desires in this subject matter. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The soul has its own whims and desires, which it delights in attaining and enjoy. Sound reasoning and knowledge (guided by the revelation) regarding the harmfulness of these actions in this worldly and the Hereafter prevents those (desires and whims from approaching such harm). So if (sound) intellect (guided by divine revelation) is removed from the guard, the soul is let loose to pursue its whims”. [Al-Istiqaamah. slightly paraphrased 2/144]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “There are two (types) of strengths within the soul: The strength of abstinence and the strength of courage. The reality of patience is that one makes the strength of courageousness a means of action in what benefits him and the strength of abstinence a means of action in refraining from what is harmful to him. Among the people, there is one whose patience in carrying out what benefits him and being firm upon it is stronger than his patience in refraining from what is harmful to him; so he exercises patience in facing difficulty whilst carrying out acts of obedience, but he does not exercise patience in refraining from urges towards what he is forbidden. And among them, there is one whose patience in refraining from things that are in opposition to the religion is stronger than his patience in carrying out acts of obedience, and among them there is one who does not exercise patience in both affairs. The best of people are those who fulfil both affairs. Many people patiently bear the hardship of praying Tahajjud during hot and cold nights, and the difficulty in fasting; but they do not exercise patience in refraining from looking at forbidden things. Many people exercise patience in refraining from looking at the forbidden things and inclination towards [forbidden] images, but they do not exercise patience in commanding good and forbidding evil. [An Excerpt from Uddatus Saabireen. page 37. Slightly paraphrased]

Imaam Ibnul Jawzi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: know that (forbidden) desires urges a person towards immediate pleasures without him pondering upon its evil consequences- urges him towards short-lived pleasures, even though it is a cause of pain and harm in this life and a barrier to pleasure in the Afterlife. As for a sensible person, he keeps away from pleasures whose result will be pain and desires whose result will be regret. This is enough as praise regarding what sound intellect necessitates and a rebuke against uncontrolled desires. Know that (forbidden) desires an overcome a person in the different fields of study, exits him from the confines of sound reasoning and enters him into behaviour that is tantamount to madness [or folly]. It might enter affairs of knowledge and thus leads a person to oppose that which sound knowledge commands, and it might enter Zuhd and thus leads him to Riyaa.

A person should ponder upon the consequences of (forbidden) desires, because many people are deprived of virtue and find themselves in a state of depravity due to it. And how many types of (unhealthy) food are there that leads to illness due to an unrestrained desire [for them]! And how many mistakes violates the honour of a person, leads to an evil mention of him as well as the guilt of sinning due to unrestrained desires, yet he still does not give thought to anything else except his desires! The best description regarding him is that of one who finds himself in a tannery, for he does not really notice its smell properly until he exits it and then realises where he was.

A sensible person should imagine the dishonour that will come to him due to his desires and the harm that results from those pleasures, for indeed he will see that- in most cases- they occur as result of those desires and pleasures. A person should think about how (the consequences of forbidden desires and pleasures do affect) others, then he should ponder and get a hint of its end results, for indeed he will see the blameworthiness of that which is known regarding them if he were to be guilty of it. A person should reflect upon those pleasures, because (sound) intellect [guided by sound divine revelation] will make him realise that they are nothing more than [lowly] desires and a state of blindness. A person should contemplate on the honour a person receives due to been given the upper hand and the humiliation found in subjugation, for indeed there is none who overcomes his [lowly] desires except that his honour is strengthened; and there is none who is subjugated by his desires except that he will find humiliation and subjugation in his soul. A person should contemplate on the benefits of opposing one’s [lowly] desires, such as the commendation attached to it in this worldly life, safety of the soul and safeguard of one’s honour, as well as reward in the afterlife. [Source: An Excerpt from Dhammul Hawaa’ pages 36-38. Slightly paraphrased]

All praise be to Allaah, indeed, neither our scholars and their upright students nor the Maraakiz have engaged in the likes of that which Usaamah has engaged in with his vile tongue – the very affair that has manifested his extremely idiotic behaviour. Imaam Abu Haatim – Ibn Hibbaan [may Allaah have mercy upon him- stated: “One the greatest signs of idiocy in an idiot is his tongue, because indeed his heart is on the tip of his tongue, whatever comes to his heart his tongue utters”. [Rawdatul Uqalaa. page 121]

The Poet said:

The fool addresses me with all ugliness …… (but) I hate to be a responder to him ……(so) he increases in foolishness, I increase in forbearance…… just as Oud increases in good smell when burnt.

We ask Allaah to protect us from Usaamah's madness, guide him and grant us all the best of manners. Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: [اللهم كما حَسَّنْت خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي – O Allah! Just as You made my external form beautiful, make my character beautiful as well]. https://salafidawahmanchester.com/2021/07/31/o-allah-just-as-you-made-my-external-form-beautiful-make-my-character-beautiful-as-well/

And Allaah knows best. This is the end of part 1 of this series and Part 2 will begin soon InShaaAllaah.

[لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ – There is neither might nor power (to alternate from one state to another nor move from one thing to another) except by Allaah’s Will]. [Bukhaari 6384 & Muslim 2704]

May Allaah protect us, protect the elder and senior students at Al-Maktabatus Salafiyyah, protect all the students in the various Maraakiz and make us and them good examples for others in the Muslim communities Aameen.
