The Worldly Life And Worldly Achievements Being Exalted In The Hearts – [An Evil Inheritance From People of The Pre-Islamic Era of Ignorance]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhaab [rahimahullaah] stated in Masaa-ilil Jaahiliyyah:

The worldly life was exalted in their hearts, as Allaah [The Exalted] said [that they said]:

Why is not this Qur’aan sent down to some great man of the two towns].

[Surah Az-Zukhruf, Aayah 31]

Commentary

Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah] said:

One of the traits of the [people] of Al-Jaahiliyyah [i.e. the people who lived during the Pre-Islamic Era of Ignorance] was that the worldly life was exalted in their hearts; so, they regarded the one who possessed [the things of the worldly life] to be honourable and the one who was not in possession of the [things of the worldly life] to be of lowly [status] and despised. And even in the affair of Risaalah [Messengership], which is Allaah’s [absolute choice to choose the one He decides to send as a Messenger], they saw that it should be given to the rich people and not the poor people.  And they said, “Allaah found [none], except an orphan of Abu Taalib to send [as a Messenger]? They were referring to Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]. [   لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِ عَظِيمٍ – And they say: “Why is not this Qur’aan sent down to some great man of the two towns]. [Surah Az-Zukhruf. Aayah 31]. The two towns are Makkah and Madina; and that [great man] in Makkah is Waleed Bin Mugheerah or Habeeb Bin Amr Ath-thaqafee; and it is said that the great man in Taa’if is Urwa Bin Mas’ood.

The people of Al-Jaahiliyyah [i.e. the people who lived during the Pre-Islamic Era of Ignorance] said, “If the message was given to one of those two great men, it would have been befitting to be [regarded] a message, but it does not befit them to think that it is given to a poor orphan [i.e. Muhammad-sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]. Allaah [The Exalted] said [in response to them]: [ أَهُمۡ يَقۡسِمُونَ رَحۡمَتَ رَبِّكَ‌ۚ – Is it they who would portion out the mercy of your Lord] [Surah Az-Zukhruf. Aayah 32] – Meaning: They interfered in Allaah’s [choice, decrees, decisions etc]. They wanted to portion out Allaah’s Mercy and did not testify to what Allaah portioned out [of His Mercy], even though [ٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ حَيۡثُ يَجۡعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ – Allaah knows best with whom to place his message] [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 24] [Ref 1]

Allaah (The Most High) informed us that the believer amongst the people of Pharaoh said:

“O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever.” [Ref 2]

Mujaahid (rahimahullaah) narrated: Abdullaah Ibn Umar (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said: Allaah’s Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) took hold of my shoulder and said: ‘’Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveller.’’  The subnarrator added: Ibn Umar Used to say: ‘’If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death.’’ [Ref 3]

The Muslim is like a stranger in this worldly life: The stranger is one residing in a country other than his country.  The worldly life is not the Muslim’s permanent place of residence; rather the Muslim’s permanent place of residence is paradise.  He is in this worldly life to work for entry into Paradise. He takes what is needed from this world to aid him work for entry into paradise.

The Muslim is like a traveller in this worldly life: The traveller takes rest during his journey and then carries on travelling. He does not reside permanently in that place he stopped to take a rest.  In the life of this world the Muslim is that traveller.  In reality he is not a permanent resident in the worldly life because his time in it is very little.  His nights and days take him towards the afterlife.

What is befitting the Muslim with regards to the days, nights, and his health etc! If you reach the morning do not delay good deeds till in the evening because it maybe that you will not reach the evening.  If you reach the evening do not delay good deeds till the morning because it maybe that you will not reach the morning.  Do not delay repentance and righteous deeds till another time.

As long as a person is in a state of good health and wellbeing, he is able to perform fasting, the night prayer etc; but when he becomes sick he is not able to perform fasting, the night prayer etc.  Therefore, as long as Allaah has given you good health, then hasten towards righteous actions because a time will come in which you will be unable to perform them-either due to illness, old age, or senility. Prepare for death and what is to come after it. Allaah gave you this life in order that you busy yourself with what will benefit you in the afterlife. So do not spend your life in play and jest.  [Ref 4]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

A desire for the afterlife cannot be achieved except by way of Zuhd Fid-Dunyaah [i.e. abstaining from everything that will divert a person from obedience to Allaah], and Zuhd Fid-Dunyaah cannot be accomplished except by way of contemplation in two ways:

The First Contemplation: Contemplation on the worldly life – its quick passage, disappearance, deficiency and low value, its hassles, ordeals, frustrations and troubles, and the end result is that it will finally come to an end- together with loss and regret. Therefore, its seeker [i.e. the one who seeks after it in a blameworthy manner] is neither safeguarded from grief before and after attaining it, nor after it vanishes. This is the first contemplation.

The Second Contemplation: Contemplation on the Afterlife – its closeness [i.e. not very far away], its definite arrival and occurrence, permanent [existence after it takes place], the nobility of the good and happiness it contains, and the difference between it and this worldly life, just as Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said: [وَٱلۡأَخِرَةُ خَيۡرٌ۬ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ  – Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting] [Soorah Al-A’laa Ayah 17]. It is a perfect and abiding [enjoyment, happiness etc], but the [worldly pleasures etc] are deficient and will come to an end.

If a person accomplishes these two contemplations, he’ll prefer that which [sound] intellect would give precedence and refrain from that which one should refrain from [i.e. everything in this worldly life that diverts a person from obedience to Allaah and leads to what is forbidden]. Everyone is naturally disposed [to the fact that he or she] does not abandon an immediate benefit and a reachable pleasure, whilst [waiting] for a delayed benefit and an absent pleasure whose [arrival is certainly] expected, except when one’s desire for what is loftier and more virtuous is stronger and the virtue of what is awaited over what is immediately present is manifest.

However, if a person prefers what is deficient and will [eventually] cease to exist [i.e. this worldly life], then that is either because the virtue of [the afterlife] is not manifested to him or due to a lack of desiring what is more virtuous. Both these two states are an indication of weakness in Eemaan, intellect and clear-sightedness, for indeed the one who desires the Dunyaah- the one who gives it precedence and is eager for it, either he testifies [to the fact that] there is that which is more virtuous and everlasting, or he does not testify. If he does not testify [i.e. that the Aakhirah is more virtuous and everlasting], he is completely devoid of Eemaan; however if he testifies to that [i.e. that the Aakhirah is more virtuous and everlasting] but does not give it precedence, then his intellect is corrupt and he has made an evil choice for himself. These two [testimonies] are inevitable and a servant cannot escape them, because giving precedence to the Dunyaah over the Aakhirah is either due to corruption in Eemaan or due to corruption of one’s intellect, and in many cases both of them are combined together [in a person].

And because of this the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] and his companions turned away from the Dunyaah [i.e. they only took what sufficed their needs and did not fall into any blameworthy deed due to it] and turned their hearts away from it. The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “What is the world to me? What am I to the world? Verily, the example of this world and myself is that of a rider who seeks shade under a tree, then he moves on and leaves it behind”. [Reported by Imaam Ahmad 3701 and others]

The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “What is the example of this worldly life in comparison to the Hereafter other than one of you dipping his finger in the sea? Let him see what he brings forth.” [Reported by Imaam Muslim 2858]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Verily the likeness of (this) worldly life is as the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, so by it arises the intermingled produce of the earth of which men and cattle eat until when the earth is clad with its adornments and is beautified, and its people think that they have all the powers of disposal over it, Our Command reaches it by night or by day and We make it like a clean-mown harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday! Thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, laws, etc.) in detail for the people who reflect. Allah calls to the home of peace (i.e. Paradise, by accepting Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds and abstaining from polytheism and evil deeds) and guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. [Soorah Yoonus Aayaat 24-25]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

And put forward to them the example of the life of this world, it is like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green. But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And Allah is Able to do everything. Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of Allah’s obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of Allah with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope. [Soorah Al-Kahf’ Aayaat 45-46]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment. [Soorah Al-Hadeed’ Aayah 57]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Beautified for men is the love of things they covet; women, children, much of gold and silver (wealth), branded beautiful horses, cattle and well-tilled land. This is the pleasure of the present world’s life; but Allah has the excellent return (Paradise with flowing rivers, etc.) with Him. Say: “Shall I inform you of things far better than those? For Al-Muttaqun (the pious – see V.2:2) there are Gardens (Paradise) with their Lord, underneath which rivers flow. Therein (is their) eternal (home) and Azwajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives) [i.e. they will have no menses, urine, or stool, etc.], And Allah will be pleased with them. And Allah is All-Seer of the (His) slaves”. [Soorah Aal Imraan’ Aayaat 14-15]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَفَرِحُواْ بِٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَـٰعٌ۬ – And they rejoice in the life of the world, whereas the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter is but a brief passing enjoyment. [Soorah Ar-Rad’ Aayah 26]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Verily, those who hope not for their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present world, and those who are heedless of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.); Those, their abode will be the Fire, because of what they used to earn. [Soorah Yoonus’ Aayaat 7-8]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O you who believe! What is the matter with you, that when you are asked to march forth in the Cause of Allah (i.e. Jihad) you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter. [Soorah At-Tawbah’ Aayah 38] [Ref 2]

And the [following Aayaat] are enough [to show the inferiority and shortness of] the worldly life. Allaah [The Most High] said:

Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years; And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. [Soorah Ash-Shu’araa’ Aayaat 205-207]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَيَوۡمَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡ كَأَن لَّمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا سَاعَةً۬ مِّنَ ٱلنَّہَارِ يَتَعَارَفُونَ بَيۡنَہُمۡ‌ۚ – And on the Day when He shall gather (resurrect) them together, (it will be) as if they had not stayed (in the life of this world and graves, etc.) but an hour of a day. They will recognise each other. [Soorah Yoonus’ Aayah 45]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [كَأَنَّہُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا سَاعَةً۬ مِّن نَّہَارِۭ‌ۚ بَلَـٰغٌ۬‌ۚ فَهَلۡ يُهۡلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلۡقَوۡمُ ٱلۡفَـٰسِقُونَ – On the Day when they will see that (torment) with which they are promised (i.e. threatened, it will be) as if they had not stayed more than an hour in a single day. (O mankind! This Qur’an is sufficient as) a clear Message (or proclamation to save yourself from destruction). But shall any be destroyed except the people who are Al-Fasiqun (the rebellious, disobedient to Allah)]. [Soorah Al-Ahqaaf’ Aayah 35]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

They ask you (O Muhammad) about the Hour, – when will be its appointed time? You have no knowledge to say anything about it; To your Lord belongs (the knowledge of) the term thereof? You (O Muhammad) are only a warner for those who fear it; The Day they see it, (it will be) as if they had not tarried (in this world) except an afternoon or a morning. [Soorah An-Naazi’aat’ Aayaat 42-46]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُقۡسِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُواْ غَيۡرَ سَاعَةٍ۬‌ۚ – And on the Day that the Hour will be established, the Mujrimun (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) will swear that they stayed not but an hour. [Soorah Ar-Rum’ Aayah 55]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

He (Allah) will say: “What number of years did you stay on earth?” They will say: “We stayed a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep account.” He (Allah) will say: “You stayed not but a little, if you had only known! [Soorah Al-Mu’minoon’ Aayaat 112-114]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown (the second blowing): that Day, We shall gather the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, etc.) Zurqa: (blue or blind eyed with black faces); In whispers will they speak to each other (saying): “You stayed not longer than ten (days).” We know very well what they will say, when the best among them in knowledge and wisdom will say: “You stayed no longer than a day!” [Soorah Taha’ Aayah 102-104]

And Allaah’s Aid is sought and upon Him we place our reliance! [Ref 5]

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah] said:

Many people humble themselves to one another more than they humble themselves to Allaah – The Most High, The Most Great. It is neither permissible for a person to be a slave [i.e. by worshipping anyone] except to Allaah, nor humble himself except to the Greatness of Allaah. Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

He is Allaah than Whom there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He; the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to Allaah! [High is He] above all that they associate as partners with Him.  He is Allaah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.  [Surah Al-Hashar’ Aayaat 23-24]

Examine those Aayaat in the last part of Surah Al-Hashar! The statement: [هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ   –  He is Allah than Whom there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He)]: This necessitates Tawheed Al-Uloohiyyah.

The statement: [هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۖ عَـٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّهَـٰدَةِ‌ۖ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ- He is Allaah, than Whom there is none who has the right to be worshipped but He, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen (open). He is the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful]: This necessitates Tawheed Al-Asmaa Was Sifaat.

And the statement: [هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقُ ٱلۡبَارِئُ ٱلۡمُصَوِّرُ‌ۖ –  He is Allaah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms” necessitates Tawheed Ar-Roboobiyyah].

These few Aayaat in the last part of Surah Al-Hashr necessitate all the categories of Tawheed. [Ref 6]

Finally What Is Al-Jaahilyyah

The ‘Jaahiliyyah Aamma’ [The Pre-Islamic ignorance that was widespread in the world and touched every aspect of life] has ceased to exist; but it remains amongst some people or some of the tribes, or in some of the lands. This is Jaahiliyyah Juz’iy [partial Pre-Islamic Ignorance]. As for the ‘Jahiliyyah Aamma’, this has ceased to exist after the advent of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], but some characteristics of Pre-Islamic ignorance remains with some of the people due to statement of the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], ‘’Among my people there are four characteristics belonging to pre-Islamic period which they do not abandon: boasting of high rank, reviling other peoples’ genealogies, seeking rain by stars, and wailing (i.e. for the dead).’’ [reported by Muslim].” This remains, but it is an aspect of Jaahiliyyah. As for the Jaahiliyyah Aamma, it has ceased to exist. Therefore, it is not permissible to say that the people are in Jaahiliyyah (Pre-Islamic ignorance).

Some [people] say: ‘’ [The people] are in a state of Pre-Islamic ignorance that is more severe than the one before the advent of the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam].’’ The meaning of this [statement of theirs] is a denial of what the Messenger [sallal-laahu-layhi-wasallam] brought – a denial of the Qur’aan, the Sunnah of the Prophet and the abundant knowledge within our hands. Its meaning is that we are in Jaahiliyyah [Pre-islamic ignorance]. This is a mistake, the people are not in Jaahiliyyah, but there remains some of the characteristics of Jaahiliyyah in some individuals- in some nations and tribes; but this is a specific Jaahiliyyah. Therefore, it is obligatory to be acquainted with this affair. [Ref 7]

A Man’s Knowledge Regarding The Feelings of His Wife In different Situations, Whilst Sincere Love And Respect Is Maintained Between Them

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Aa’isha [may Allaah be pleased with her] narrated that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said to her, “I know when you are pleased with me or angry with me”. I said, “When do you know that?” He said, “When you are pleased with me, you say, ‘No, by the Lord of Muhammad,’ but when you are angry with me, then you say, ‘No, by the Lord of Abraaheem.’ ” Thereupon I said, “Yes, (certainly, you are right); but by Allaah, O Allaah’s Messenger, I do not leave anything else besides your name”.

Benefits From This Hadeeth

  • A man’s thorough observation regarding the state of a woman due to her action, speech, inclination or lack of inclination towards him based on indications, because the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] firmly determined Aa’Isha’s  [may Allaah be pleased with her] happiness or anger merely when she mentioned or refrain from mentioning his name; therefore, he judged the two situations based on the mention or the absence of a mention of his name as an indication of happiness or anger. It can also be definitely the case that there is something more explicit regarding this affair, but he did not say it.
  • And regarding the statement of Aa’Isha, “Yes (certainly, you are right); but by Allaah, O Allaah’s Messenger, I do not leave anything else besides your name”. At-Teebee said, “This is a very subtle way of making an exception, because she related that when she is in a state of anger – a state in which a sane person loses his senses by choice, her affirmed love for the Messenger does not change.
  • Ibnul Muneer said, “What Aa’isha intended is that she left out the wording of the Prophet’s name but her heart’s pure love and affection towards the noble person of the Prophet does not leave her.
  • And with regards to the choice Aa’Isha made to use Prophet Ibraaheem’s [peace be upon him] name instead of the other Prophet’s, this is proof regarding her intelligence, because the Prophet is the one with the best claim to Ibraaheem just as Allaah stated in the Qur’an. Therefore, when she had no other way of leaving a noble name, she replaced it with the name of someone who is from the one whose name she left out, so that her heart does not exit the boundaries of that attachment.

We ask Allaah to place abundant love, compassion and mercy between us and our wives upon that which agrees with the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah Aameen.

Who Is The Person – Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq – Mentioned By Shaikh Khaalid Adh-Dhufayri In His Tweet?

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Khaalid Adh-Dhufayri [may Allaah preserve him] stated as follows:

The screaming of the Khawaarij continue calling for chaos, destruction and uprising of the society against its rulers, even if they were to perish, millions killed, the sanctity of honour violated, the country destroyed and the door opened for disbelievers to play around in Muslim lands. The important thing for them is that an arena is opened for them to acquire rulership and its final affair is the call of Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq for the society to rise up against its armies. [paraphrased]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Mad’khalee [may Allaah preserve him] stated:

Indeed, from the most severe of afflictions and trials upon Islaam and the Muslims in this era, is the appearance of a group claiming to be upon the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah, but unfortunately this group does not act except in opposition to this methodology and its people- openly at times and behind veils at other times.

And indeed this group has placed a heavy burden upon its shoulders and that is its defence of the people of innovation and misguidance.  They author books in this regard and decorate statements for it and spread such defence in the world under the slogan of justice and equity or the Manhaj of Muwaazanaat. (ref 1)

They exceed the limits in the affair of Fiqul Waaqi [knowledge of current affairs (ref 2)] and speak ill of the scholars of the Salafi methodology as a result of that; rather they degrade the methodology of the scholars as a result of this and increase in ill speech against the Salafi methodology and its people. The effects of the path of justice and equity are neither seen in their arguments against the people of the Salafi methodology nor in their praises and exaltation of the people of innovation.

Alongside concealing themselves with the Salafi Methodology, they are not seen to give it importance except with respect to what they utilize to deceive those deceived by them, or [what they utilize as] garments of Salafiyyah to bring the people to their corrupt organization of illegal partisanship (ref 3)] – to kill their love for the Salafi Methodology, the call to it, defence of it, following it upon the methodology of the pious predecessors with the (correct) allegiance and disassociation and being warned against the people of innovation. So, they divert a great deal of people from the true methodology and the truthful alliance for it; and (direct them) towards that passionate alliance to the people of Bidah and in defence of them- their innovations and falsehoods; or playing down their innovations to the extent that it leads them to the station of the extreme Murji’ah (ref 4) with regards to their views towards the major innovations and great affairs of opposition to the true religion of Allaah.

And due to this, hatred has occurred from them against the carriers of the Sunnah and the salafi methodology; and they set up those who present their mistakes which have neither been criticized by a Sunni nor a proponent of religious innovation from amongst those who ascribe themselves to Islaam.  They present these mistakes as mighty affairs of blunder and destruction, rather they make the virtues and merits of Ahlus Sunnah   repugnant and disdainful in addition to much fabrication and accusation.

So with these disgraceful deeds they perpetrate, they are from the severest in war against the Salafi methodology and its people- the severest in their opposition to the Salafi methodology and its people, the most intense in their defence of the groups of Bidah and trial, their claims and methodologies.  They have writings in this regard, and from them, the many writings of  Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq who carries the responsibility of this destructive orientation.

[33] The Three Monotheistic Religions! [Brief Observations On This Statement Uttered By Writers Who Are Ignorant About Islaam And Misguided Modernists Speaking In The Name of Islaam]: The Likeness of Eesaa In The Sight of Allaah is Like That of Aadam

To Proceed:

Allaah [The Most High] said:

–Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 64]

Meaning: say to the people of the scripture – the Jews and Christians,

[تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ – Come to a word that is just between us and you]- Meaning: Come let us unite upon the statement which all the Prophets and Messengers agreed upon and none opposes it except the obstinate and misguided. This statement is not specific to anyone of us; rather it is something that you and us should establish between us, so this is justice and fairness in debate. Then Allaah explains this and said:

[أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا  –  that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him]- Meaning: We should single out Allaah in worship, devoting all love, fear and hope to Him alone, and we should not associate anyone as partner with Allaah in worship- neither a Prophet, an Angel, a Righteous Person, an Idol, a Deified image, a living or non-living thing, [وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ  – and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allaah]; rather all obedience is to be devoted to Allah and His Messengers. [فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ – Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]”. [Tafsir As-Sadi]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Verily, the likeness of ‘Iesa (Jesus) in the sight of Allaah is like that of Aadam.

He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: “Be!” – and he was.

[Surah Aal Imran. Aayah 59]

Indeed, Allaah created this type of human being to manifest His All-Encompassing Power. Allaah created Aadam [alayhis salaam] without a male and a female [i.e. a father and mother] and Allaah created Aadam’s [alayhis salaam] wife – Hawaa [alayhas salaam] from Aadam’s rib and without a mother, as Allaah said: [وَخَلَقَ مِنۡہَا زَوۡجَهَا – And from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 1]

Allaah created the Messiah [alayhis salaam] from a woman and without a father, and Allaah created all humankind from a male and female. Therefore, the manner in which Aadam and Hawaa [alayhismas salaam] were created was more amazing than the manner in which the Messiah [alayhis salaam] was created, for indeed Hawaa was created from Aadam’s rib and this is more amazing than the manner in which the Messiah was created in Maryam’s [alayhas salaam] womb; and the manner in which Aadam was created was more amazing than the way in which both Hawaa and the Messiah were created. This is why Allaah likened the creation of Aadam to that of the Messiah even though the manner in which Aadam was created was more amazing. Therefore, when it is the case that Allaah is able to create Aadam from clay, even though clay is not something that is part of the human’s body, then is Allaah not able to create the Messiah from a woman when it is the case that the woman is a human being? Allaah created Aadam [alayhis salaam] from clay and said to him, “Be” and he was when the soul was blown into him. Likewise, the soul was blown into the Messiah and Allaah said, “Be” and he was. Aadam did not acquire both the attributes of Allaah and that of humans when the soul was blown into him, rather he became a human; likewise, the Messiah became a human after the soul was blown into him.

Allaah revealed this Aayah [i.e. Aayah 59 Aal Imraan] amongst those Aayaat which He revealed regarding the Christians – when the Christians of Najraan came to the Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and debated with him regarding the Messiah [alayhis salaam]; so Allaah revealed what He revealed and clarified the truth regarding that which the Jews and Christians differed and declared the false belief of both groups – the exaggeration of the Christians regarding the status of the Messiah and Jews’ disparagement against the Messiah. Then Allaah said:

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad) “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” Verily! This is the true narrative [about the story of ‘Iesa (Jesus)], and, Laa ilaaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the One and the Only True God, Who has neither a wife nor a son). And indeed, Allah is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. And if they turn away (and do not accept these true proofs and evidences), then surely, Allah is All-Aware of those who do mischief. Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.”

[Surah Aal Imraan. Aayaat 61-64]

So, the Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] acted on the above statement of Allaah and called them to come along, so that him and them invoke the curse of Allaah on the liar, but the Christians knew that if they did so, Allaah will curse them, so they agreed to pay jizya.

Then when the Messenger of Allaah Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] wrote to Heraclius- the king of Rome, he wrote the statement of Allaah:

Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayaat 64]

The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] sometimes used to recite this above Aayah [i.e. Aayah 64. Aal Imraan] in the second Rak’ah of Sunnah prayer of Fajr, and in the first Rak’ah of the Sunnah of Fajr, he recited the Aayah:

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 136]

All this clarifies that the Messiah [alayhis salaam] is a servant of Allaah and not a god, and he was created just as Aadam was created. Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] was commanded to call the one who said that the Messiah is a god, so that him and them gather their sons, women folk and closest relatives, and then pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie. Therefore, if the Christians were lying regarding their statement that the Messiah is Allaah, then the curse of Allaah would be  have been justified against them, and if they said that the Messiah is not Allaah, rather he is a servant of Allaah [whilst trying to hide the belief they held that the Messiah is Allaah], then the curse of Allaah would have been justified against them. This is a just position taken by a person who has certainty that he is upon truth. However, when the Christians knew that they were not upon truth, they refrained from invoking this curse; then Allaah said:

This is the true narrative [about the story of ‘Iesa (Jesus)], and, Laa ilaaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the One and the Only True God, Who has neither a wife nor a son)].

So Allaah declared the falsehood of the Christians who said that the Messiah is a true god from a true god.

[Al-Jawaabus Saheeh Liman Baddala Deen Al-Maseeh 2/246-247. Slightly paraphrased]

Finally, we repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others.

You shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you  and from those who ascribe partners to Allaah; but if you persevere patiently, and become Muttaqoon (the pious) then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs. [3:186] – on condition that we exercise patience, remain steadfast and not abandon anything in the Religion. Allaah [The Most High] said:

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [hafidhahullaah] said:

Ibnul Jawzi said, Abul Wafaa Ibn Aqeel Al-Faqee said, our Shaikh Abul Fadl Al-Hamdaani said, “The innovators (in) Islam and the fabricators of Hadeeth are worse than the Mulhiddoon [i.e. the heretics (Ref a)], because the heretics aim to corrupt Islam from the outside, whilst these [people] want to corrupt it from within. They [i.e. the innovators and the fabricators of hadeeth] are similar to the people of a country who try to corrupt its state of affairs and the heretics are similar to those who lay a siege from the outside; so the ones from within [i.e. the innovators and fabricators of hadeeth] open the fortress. Therefore, they are more harmful to Islam than those who do not [attribute] themselves to it outwardly”.[Ref 2]

What is Ilhaad and Who Are The Mulhidoon [Hererics]?

Ilhaad: Complete Il-haad is to turn away from Islaam completely and that is Major Il-haad, which exits a person from the fold of Islaam, such as the Il-haad of the communists, the idol worshippers and those similar to them. And Minor Il-haad does not exit a person from the Religion of Islaam, such as turning away from some actions.  Allaah (The Most High) said: [وَمَن يُرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍ بِظُلْمٍ نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ – And whoever inclines to evil actions therein or to do wrong, him We shall cause to taste a painful torment] [22:25] [For further details, see links:

Imaam Ahmad [rahimahullaah] said, “There is none more harmful on the people of Islaam than the Jahmiyyah; they do not desire except to nullify the Qur’aan and the ahaadeeth of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]”. [Ref 3]

Al-Haafifh Abdul Ghaniyy Al-Maqdisee [rahimahullaah] said, “Know-may Allaah have mercy upon you-that Islaam and its people are undermined by three groups; and the group that rejects the [authentic] ahaadeeth about the Attributes [of Allaah] and belie its narrators are more harmful to Islaam and its people than the disbelievers”.  [Ref 4]

Ibn Aqeel [rahimahullaah] said, “There is none more harmful on the sharee’ah than the innovators of the people of kalaam [i.e. the people of philosophical rhetoric] and the ignorant soofees”. [Ref 5]

Abu khaythama narrated to us, (saying): Jareer related to us from Mansoor from Abu Ad-Duhaa from Masrooq, (who) said: “Once we were sitting with Abdullaah (Ibn Mas’ood) whilst he was reclining; then a man came to him and said: “O Abu Abdir-Rahmaan! Verily there is a storyteller at the doors of Kinda claiming that the portent of the Smoke will come along and snatch the breaths of the disbelievers (i.e. take their souls away) and the believers will get something like a cold from it.” So Abdullaah said while sitting up and he was angry, “O people fear Allaah! Whoever amongst you has knowledge of something, then he should speak with what he knows; and whoever does not know, then he should say, “Allaah knows best”; because it the best of knowledge for one of you to say, “Allaah knows best” with regards to things he has no knowledge of. Indeed, Allaah (The Most High) said to His Prophet (alayhis-salaam): ”Say (O Muhammad):

[قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنْ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ  – No wage do I ask of you for this (the Qur’aan), not am I one of the Mutakallifun (those who pretend and fabricate things which do not exist)]. [Soorah Saad. Ayah: 86] [Ref 6]

Imaam Ibnul Jawzi [rahimahullaah] stated: When it is the case that addressing the (people) through exhortations is mostly (directed at) the common people, the ignorant story tellers found a way of reaching their goals. Their bidah did not cease until the affair reached alarming proportions, so they brought about evil [through their] deeds, statements and goals. [Ref 7]

Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said: Do not sit with the people of desires [i.e. ahlul bidah], for indeed sitting with them will cause sickness to the hearts. [Ref 8]

Shu-aib (rahimahullaah) narrated: I said to Ibn Seereen: ‘’what is your view concerning listening to the people of desires (i.e. ahlul bidah)? He said: ”We neither listen to them nor honour (them).” [Ref 9]

Imaam Sufyaan Ath-thawri [rahimahullaah] said: The one who sits with a person of innovation is not safe from one of three [calamities]: Either he becomes a trial for other than himself; or something of [misguidance] enters into his heart, and thus he slips by way of that and Allaah enters him into the hell fire; or he says: “By Allaah, I don’t care what they say because I am sure of myself”, but whoever feels safe about his religion [without Allaah’s guidance, protection etc] in the twinkling of an eye, it will be snatched away from him. [Ref 10]

Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said: It is not permissible to exalt and praise the innovators even if they have some truth with them. That is because raising and praising them will spread their bidah and place them amongst the sincere ones-those who are taken as examples amongst distinguished men of this Ummah. The Salaf warned against having trust for the innovators, (warned against) praising them and their gatherings. In this regard, Asad Ibn Musa (rahimahullaah) wrote: ”Beware of being a brother of the innovator (by association) or a companion of his, or one whom you sit with; for indeed it has been narrated that ‘Whoever sits with a person of innovation has left the protection of Allaah and is entrusted to himself’.

The innovators must be warned against and kept away from even if they have some truth with them. Indeed, the most astray are not devoid of some truth, but as long as they have with them innovation, opposition and sinful views, it is not permissible to praise and exalt them. It is impermissible to not have an objection against their innovation because this spreads bidah, belittles the Sunnah and by way of this the innovator will emerge and become a guide for the Ummah.

As for giving consideration (to the fact) that the innovation has some truth, this does not justify praising him. This is -to a far greater extent- against what is of overriding benefit and it is known in relation to a principle in the religion that averting harm takes precedence over seeking that which is of benefit. And with regards to having hatred for the innovator, the harm that is averted from the Ummah is weightier than the benefit possessed by the innovator. And had we adhered to this concept (i.e. praising the innovator because he has some truth with him), then no one would have been judged to be misguided and declared an innovator. That is because there is not an innovator except that he has some truth and adherence to the Sunnah. The innovator (may) neither be a disbeliever nor be in opposition to all the Islamic legislation; rather he is either an innovator in some or most of the affairs. However, if the innovation is particularly related to affairs of Creed and Methodology, then the affair is dangerous indeed because it will become an example (to be followed); innovation will spread and the innovators will become active in spreading their innovation.

So, this person who praises the innovators and makes their affair obscure to the people -due to some truth they (i.e. innovators) have – is one of two (people): He is either one ignorant of the methodology of the pious predecessors and their stance against the innovators, and it is neither permissible for this ignorant one to speak nor is it permissible for the Muslims to listen to him; or he is one who has an objection to the truth because he knows the danger of innovation and the innovators, but he wishes to spread innovations. Nevertheless, this is a dangerous affair and it is not permissible to be lackadaisical with regards to innovation and its people, whatever that may be.  [Ref 11]

Shaikh Rabee [may Allaah preserve him] said:

Nowadays many people do not consider bidah to be something harmful to the people upon bidah. By Allaah, it is a calamity upon those who have reached this state of affairs. His desires lead him to [such a state] he does not consider bidah as something harmful to those upon bidah, even though the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “The worst of all affairs are the newly invented matters [in the religion] and every newly invented matter [im the religion] is a bidah, and every bidah is misguidance.” [Muslim 867]

And [The Messenger (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam)] said, “The Jews split into seventy one sects, the Christians split into seventy two sects, and this Ummah [i.e. Muslim Ummah] will split into seventy three sects, and all of them will be in the fire except one; so they [i.e. the sahaabah] said, ‘Who are they O Messenger of Allaah?’ He said, those upon what I and my companions are upon.” [Tirmidhee 2641 & declared Hasan by Sh Albaani in Saheeh Al-Jaami 5343]

They [i.e. the saved sect] are the people upon truth – Ahlus Sunnah, the people who adhere to the Qur’aan and Sunnah, the enemies of bidah, misguidance, disbelief, shirk and all types of misguidance. They love the truth, and they establish love and hatred based on that. [Ref 12]

[Social Sciences] – Imagine The Corruption When Children Are Nurtured By Blind Followers Or Ideologues Who Know How to Manipulate These Six Levels of Comprehension!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said:

Knowledge (Ilm) is to comprehend the reality of something as it truly is, with certainty.

The levels of comprehension are six:

[Al ‘Ilm – Knowledge], which is to comprehend the reality of something as it truly is, with certainty.

[Al Jahlul Baseet- slight ignorance], which is absence of full comprehension.

[Al Jahlul Murakkab-, Aggravated/compounded ignorance], which is to comprehend something in a way contrary to its true reality.

[Al Wahm – Delusion], which is to think that one comprehends something despite the presence of that which should cause you to realize that you are incorrect.

[Ash Shakk- Doubt], which is to think that you comprehend something, yet you are aware of something contrary to it which you think has the same possibility of being the truth.

[Dhann – Preponderant belief], which is comprehension of something, despite the presence of something which is contrary to it, but which is less likely to be true.

[32] The Three Monotheistic Religions! [Brief Observations On This Statement Uttered By Writers Who Are Ignorant About Islaam And Misguided Modernists Speaking In The Name of Islaam]: Rebuttal Against One Who Attributes Falsehood to Others And Passes Judgement on Them

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Firstly: We repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others.

The Christians [i.e. those deviated ones whom Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah refuted] said that the Jews [i.e. those Jews who deviated] committed a severe act of disbelief because they affirmed the Trinity but denied its meaning; so Shaikhul Islaam [rahimahullaah] replied to them in brief as follows:

This is a manifest slander against those Jews. Even though those Jews are disbelievers, but their disbelief was not due to their rejection of the trinity, and had they affirmed the trinity they would have increased in their disbelief that which would increase their punishment; rather they have something in the Tawraat that which nullifies the Trinity which is not hidden except from the one who has wilfully turned away from Allaah’s revelation.

[Al-Jawaabus Saheeh Liman Baddala Deen Al-Maseeh. 2/203]

This above statement of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] clearly shows that the upright scholars of Islaam stand firm for Justice even on behalf of those who deviated from Allaah’s revelation.

Allaah [The Exalted ] said:

And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them, through selfish transgression between themselves. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term, the matter would have been settled between them. And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture [i.e. the Taurah (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] after them (i.e. Jews and Christians) are in grave doubt concerning it (i.e. Allah’s true religion Islam or the Qur’an). So unto this (religion of Islam, alone and this Qur’an) then invite (people) (O Muhammad), and Istaqim [(i.e. stand firm and straight on Islamic Monotheism by performing all that is ordained by Allah (good deeds, etc.), and by abstaining from all that is forbidden by Allah (sins and evil deeds, etc.)], as you are commanded, and follow not their desires but say: “I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book and I am commanded to do justice among you, Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return.

Regarding the statement: [وَأُمِرۡتُ لِأَعۡدِلَ بَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ  – and I am commanded to do justice among you]– Meaning, when passing judgement in that which you differ. O people of the Scripture! Your enmity and hatred will not stop me from doing justice between you and between people who hold different views – whether amongst the people of the Scripture or other than them – by accepting that which is with them of truth and rejecting what is with them of falsehood.

[ٱللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمۡ‌ۖ – Allah is our Lord and your Lord], Meaning: Allaah is the Lord of everyone and you are not more worthy of being His servant than us. [لَنَآ أَعۡمَـٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلُڪُمۡ‌ۖ   – For us our deeds and for you your deeds], Meaning: Good and evil. [لَا حُجَّةَ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمُ‌ۖ  –  There is no dispute between us and you], Meaning, after the realities have been manifested and thus truth is made clear as opposed to falsehood, guidance made clear as opposed to misguidance; then there remains no room for debate and disagreement, because the aim behind debate is to clarify and distinguish truth from falsehood, so that the guided one is guided by way of it and the evidence is established against the deviated one. Therefore, this Aayah does not mean that the people of the Scripture are not debated with, because Allaah [The Exalted] stated in another Aayah:

[وَلَا تُجَـٰدِلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحۡسَنُ – And argue not with the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), unless it be in (a way) that is better (with good words and in good manner, inviting them to Islamic Monotheism with His Verses)]. [Surah Al-Ankabut. Aayah 46]

[ٱللَّهُ يَجۡمَعُ بَيۡنَنَا‌ۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَصِير –  Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return], meaning: on the day of resurrection, and everyone will be rewarded based on his deeds, and the truthful one will be distinguished from the liar.

[An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi. Slightly paraphrased]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullah] also said:

And when it is case that the true followers of the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] are people of knowledge and justice, therefore the speech of the people of Islaam and the true adherents to the Prophetic Sunnah regarding the unbelievers and the proponents of religious innovations has to be based on knowledge and justice, and not conjecture and what the soul desires. And due to this the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “The judges are three: one will go to Paradise and two to Hell. A man who knows the truth and judges with it will enter paradise; a man who knows the truth but judges with the opposite of it will enter the fire, and a man who judges for the people based on ignorance will enter the fire’’. [Reported by Imaam Abu Dawud 3573]

And when it is the case that the one who judges between the people in [affairs] of wealth, blood [i.e. murder cases, physical violence etc] and honour will enter the hell fire if he is not a just scholar, then how about the one who passes judgements – without knowledge and justice – on creeds, religions, the fundamentals of belief,  divine knowledge and the general fundamental principles related to different subject matters, as is the case with ahlul bidah wal ahwaa [the proponents of religious innovations and desires]- those who follow the ambiguous doubtful matters, abandon those explicitly clear texts that have been transmitted by the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], cling to affairs that share an ambiguous similarity through mere analogy and opinions,  and then present affairs whose differences can neither be reconciled nor equated, just as is the case with the unbelievers and all the proponents of religious innovation and followers of desires, who liken the creation to the Creator [i.e. they give the creation the Perfect Attributes that only belong to the Creator], and liken the Creator to the creation [i.e. by describing the Creator with the imperfect attributes of the Creation], and then they put forward an evil similitude for Allaah by way of thoughtless and confusing speech. This is because the false religion of the Christians is an innovated [or concocted] religion- innovated after the departure of the Messiah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and altered the religion of the Messiah through it; so they deviated from the Messiah’s [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] path and remained upon that which they innovated.

[Al-Jawaabus Saheeh 1/26-30. Slightly paraphrased]

Finally, we repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others.

A Brief Reminder – Regarding The Noble Angels of Allaah – In The Face of Those Fujjaar  [Wicked Sinners] Who Seek to Degrade Their Status

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the (only) Originator [or the (only) Creator] of the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels messengers with wings, – two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Verily, Allah is Able to do all things. [Surah Al-Faatir. Aayah 1]

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said:

The Angels were created from light and the (origin) of the children of Aadam is clay; however Sound Aqeedah creates a bond between these two creatures- Angels and the pious people amongst the children of Aadam. Allaah (The Most High) said:

Those (angels) who bear the Throne (of Allaah) and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah) (saying): ‘’Our Lord! You comprehend all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and save them from the torment of the blazing fire.’’ [40:7]

The angels believe in Allaah and constantly supplicate to Allaah. They ask Allaah to forgive the believers and to enter them into paradise.  This is a great and amazing bond despite the fact that they (angels) are a different from humans, however it is the sound Aqeedah that unites their hearts. [1] Likewise, the righteous slaves of Allaah amongst human beings love the angels. [2]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ): “Whoever is an enemy to Jibrael (Gabriel) (let him die in his fury), for indeed he has brought it (this Qur’an) down to your heart by Allah’s Permission, confirming what came before it [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] and guidance and glad tidings for the believers. “Whoever is an enemy to Allah, His Angels, His Messengers, Jibrael (Gabriel) and Mikael (Michael), then verily, Allah is an enemy to the disbelievers.” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayaat 97-98]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 18]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

O you who believe! Believe in Allah, and His Messenger (Muhammad), and the Book (the Qur’an) which He has sent down to His Messenger, and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (him), and whosoever disbelieves in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 136]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

But Allah bears witness to that which He has sent down (the Qur’an) unto you (O Muhammad), He has sent it down with His Knowledge, and the angels bear witness. And Allah is All-Sufficient as a Witness. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 166]

Allaah [The Exlated] said:

Surely, those who are with your Lord (angels) are never too proud to perform acts of worship to Him, but they glorify His Praise and prostrate before Him. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayah 206]

“Those whose lives the angels take while they are doing wrong to themselves (by disbelief and by associating partners in worship with Allah and by committing all kinds of crimes and evil deeds).” Then, they will make (false) submission (saying): “We used not to do any evil.” (The angels will reply): “Yes! Truly, Allah is All-Knower of what you used to do. [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 28]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Those whose lives the angels take while they are in a pious state (i.e. pure from all evil, and worshipping none but Allah Alone) saying (to them): Salamun ‘Alaikum (peace be on you) enter you Paradise, because of (the good) which you used to do (in the world).” Do they (the disbelievers and polytheists) await but that the angels should come to them [to take away their souls (at death)], or there should come the command (i.e. the torment or the Day of Resurrection) of your Lord? Thus did those before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves. [Surah An-Nahl Aayaat 32-33]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

To Him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and on earth. And those who are near Him (i.e. the angels) are not too proud to worship Him, nor are they weary (of His worship). They (i.e. the angels) glorify His Praises night and day, (and) they never slacken (to do so). [Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Aayaat 19-20]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And (remember) the Day when the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and the angels will be sent down, with a grand descending. The sovereignty on that Day will be the true (sovereignty), belonging to the Most Beneficent (Allah), and it will be a hard Day for the disbelievers (those who disbelieve in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism). [Surah Al-Furqan. Aayah 25-26]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Verily, the Mujrimun (criminals, sinners, disbelievers, etc.) will be in the torment of Hell to abide therein forever. (The torment) will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.). And they will cry: “O Malik (Keeper of Hell)! Let your Lord make an end of us.” He will say: “Verily you shall abide forever.” [Surah Az-Zukhruf. Aayaat 74-77]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows, none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allah) allows, and he will speak what is right. [Surah An-Naba. Aayah 38]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

And if you could see when the angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve (at death), they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): “Taste the punishment of the blazing Fire.” “This is because of that which your hands had forwarded. And verily, Allah is not unjust to His slaves.” [Surah Al-Anfaal. Aayaat 50-51]

Israafeel [alayhis salaam]

Abu Hurayrah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “The Messenger of Allaah [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘The gaze of the one who will blow the Trumpet has been fixed since he was entrusted with it, looking towards the throne, ready (to blow it), in case he will be commanded to do so before he blinks, as if his eyes are two shining stars’”

[31] The Three Monotheistic Religions! [Brief Observations On This Statement Uttered By Writers Who Are Ignorant About Islaam And Misguided Modernists Speaking In The Name of Islaam]: Similarity Between Trinitarians And Some Groups Amongst The Raafidah

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Firstly: We repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others.

And the Jews [i.e. those who deviated] say: “Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah”, and the Christians [i.e. those who deviated] say: “Messiah is the son of Allah”. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth! [Surah At-tawbah. Aayah 30]

Indeed, Ahlul Bidah Wad Dalaal [the proponents of religious innovations and misguidance] – those who ascribe to Islaam – imitate them in this affair by uttering something similar to their act of going beyond bounds regarding the status of Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], the family of Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], the Mashaayikh and other than them, such as those who claim Wahdatul Wujood [i.e.  the notion of the unity of existence – that Allah is one with the creation and that He is in every place] or Hulool [i.e. Divine indwelling – the belief that Allaah dwells within a particular human] or Ittihaad [i.e. union with the divine], which is similar to the extreme claim of the Christians [regarding the Messiah] and the claim of the Shiites regarding Ali and a group from the Prophet’s family, such as the Nusayriyyah and other than them who claim deity ship for Ali, and the claim of some of the Ismaa’eeliyyah who claim deity ship for their ruler etc.

When these people are addressed and a clarification is given regarding the corruption their statements, they reply with something similar to the statements of those Christians [who deviated from the path of the Messiah], saying, “This affair of ours is something above the intellects”, and they would say to the one who desired to follow their path, “Abandon Aql and Naql [i.e. sound reasoning by way of intellect and the narrations found in the Sharee’ah]”. These people blindly follow their Mashaayikh and follow them in that which is outside the boundaries of the Sharee’ah of the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and in that which they innovated, which Allaah has not legislated; so they follow religious innovations as means of worship and declare lawful that which is unlawful, in a manner similar to how some of the Christians blindly followed their Shuyookh. And when a person opposes them, they say, “The Shaikh has made his affair safe and he is not to be opposed”, just as the Christians say about their Shuyookh.

The most of that which these people have is that they narrate some of those affairs that are regarded to be out of the norm [i.e. miracles] from their Shuyookh, which may either be true or false, or it may be that they are deeds of the allies of the devils, such as the Magicians and soothsayers. And it may be from that which occurs from the allies of Allaah, so if it is from the allies of Allaah, then there is nothing in relation to this regarding blindly following a Wali in everything he says, because a Wali is neither infallible nor is it obligatory to follow him in everything he says, nor is it obligatory to believe in everything he says; rather this is one of the specific rights of the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], because it is obligatory to believe in everything the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] have stated, testify to the truthfulness of everything they have related regarding the unseen matters and follow them in everything they have commanded. And whoever disbelieves in anything they have brought, then such a person is a disbeliever.

These innovators,  extremists – those who ascribe partners to Allaah and hold the belief of divine indwelling – are like the Christians with regards to how close they resemble them and how much they oppose the sound religion of the Muslims, and some of them are more in agreement with the sound religion of the Muslims. As for the extremists, there are those amongst them who agree more with the Christians and some are greater disbelievers than the Christians.

You Are a Wahhaabi, You Hate The Family of The Prophet! [Absurd Claim of Pathetic Wailers and Heretical Proponents of Self-flagellation On The Day of Aashooraa]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

So, you say to the Raafidah, “Indeed, it is Shirk to call upon other than Allaah when seeking benefit and seeking protection from harm regarding an affair which none can (fulfil) except Allaah.  It is not permissible to invoke Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu-anhu] or other than him amongst the dead [may Allaah have mercy upon them]…. Indeed, is it permissible to invoke the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’  They [i.e. Raafidah] say, “You are a Wahhaabi, you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)’’.

Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] said:

And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: ‘This (Prophet Muhammad) is a sorcerer, a liar.   Has he made the aaliha (gods) (all) into One Ilaah (God – Allaah). Verily, this is a curious thing!’ And the leaders among them went about (saying): “Go on and remain constant to your aaliha (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)! We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention!  Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?” Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur’aan)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! [Soorah Saad; Ayah:4-8]

So, you say to the Raafidah: Indeed, it is Shirk to call upon other than Allaah when seeking benefit and seeking protection from harm regarding a matter which none can (fulfil) except Allaah.  It is not permissible to invoke Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu-anhu] or other than him amongst the dead [may Allaah have mercy upon them], because Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmeer (the thin membrane over the date stone).  If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything).  O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allaah, but Allaah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of all praise.’ [Soorah Faatir; Ayah:13-14]

And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

‘And who is more astray than one who calls (invokes) besides Allaah, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?  And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become enemies for them and will deny their worshipping.’ [Soorah Ahqaaf. Aayah:5-6]

And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allaah, any other ilaah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. [Soorah Muminoon; Ayah:117]

And if you say, “Indeed others have joined them (i.e. the Mushrikoon) in this (affair)”, so I say, ‘’Whoever joins them in this (affair of shirk) is similar to them”.  Allaah said:

And invoke not besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong doers).  And if Allaah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He will. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ [Soorah Yoonus; Ayah:106-107]

When you relate these verses and their likes to the (Rawaafid), and then say to them, “Indeed, is it permissible to invoke the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’  They say, “You are a Wahhaabi, you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)’’. This is the same (affair) regarding the extreme Soofees; when you say, “Indeed, the awliyaa can neither benefit nor harm”, they say, “You hate the awliyaa”.

Indeed, Mighty is the word that comes out of the mouths of these two sects; they utter nothing but a lie.
