Consequences of Argumentation – Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen – Rahimahullaah – said:

There isn’t a person (on the most part) who is prone to argumentation except that he becomes deprived from the blessing of knowledge. Because in general the one who argues desires by that to only support his own statement and by way of that becomes deprived from the blessing of knowledge.
As for the one who desires the truth, then indeed the truth is easy and attainable. It doesn’t require great debates, as it is clear.
Because of this you find that those people of innovation who debate in favour of their innovations, their fields of knowledge lack blessing, having no good to it. And you’ll find them arguing and debating and then arriving at nothing. They do not end up reaching the truth.

Reflecting upon those whom Allah has favoured – Shaykh Ibnul Uthaymeen

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen – rahimahullah- said:

The statement of Allah “The path of those whom you have favoured” is an evidence that it’s upon us to look into the lives of those whom Allah has favoured, as to who they were and what their condition was. This is so that we may be guided to their path. And an extension to that is an encouragement for us to know the biography of The Prophet – صلى الله عليه وسلم – due to him being the most favoured by Allah.

Writing in the Mushaf – Shaykh bin Baz

Shaykh bin Baz was asked about writing in the Mushaf, he replied:

It is impermissible to write anything, nothing is to be written in the Mushaf. It should be devoid of anything but the speech of Allah – glorified and exalted be He – no footnotes should be written, neither any symbols of tajweed nor anything else. Because it’s a must for the Mushaf to be safeguarded and solely contain the speech of Allah – glorified and exalted be He.

Beware of evil companions in this worldly life before it is too late!

Allaah (The Most High) said:

Then they (i.e. the people of paradise) will turn to one another, mutually questioning. A speaker of them will say: “Verily, I had a companion (in the world), Who used to say: “Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). (That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)? (The man) said: “Will you look down? So he looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. He said: “By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought forth (to Hell).” [37:50-57]

Who are your companions and for what reason have you chosen them as companions?!

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”Friends on that Day (i.e. Day of Judgement) will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious)” [43:67]

Benefit from this beautiful explanation of Mandhoomah Manhajul Haqq, but do not be isolated from the regular lessons of the Tullaab in the local Salafi Masaajid and Maraakiz.

Are you grateful?

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”And had it not been for the Grace of Allah and His Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure from sins. But Allah purifies (guides to Islam) whom He wills, and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.” [24:21]

O youth! Remember this whenever you’re amazed with the little you know!

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah).” [16:78]

Remember this whenever you’re aggressive towards elders due to being deceived by your youth!

”Allah is He Who created you in (a state of) weakness, then gave you strength after weakness, then after strength gave (you) weakness and grey hair. He creates what He wills. And it is He Who is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful (i.e. Able to do all things).” [30:54]
