In the first 20 nights, he ﷺ used to pray but also sleep. However, when the last 10 nights arrived he would buckle down, tighten his lower garment and wake his family.
From that which Allah has prescribed in this blessed month (Ramadan) the filling of the Masaajid for the Taraweeh Prayer in congregation. The Taraweeh Prayer is prayed in congregation in the Masaajid, this is the Sunnah (of the Prophet ﷺ ) and if he prayed it in his house then there is no harm but the Taraweeh prayer in the Maasajid is the best and complete, for it is the month of filling the Masaajid.

It is reported that Mālik ibn Dīnār (rahimahullāh) said,
If a man seeks knowledge to act upon it, his knowledge will make him happy. And if he seeks knowledge, for other than acting upon it, his knowledge increases him in haughtiness.
“Oh students of knowledge, do not seek knowledge whilst being insolent, inconsistent and haphazard; seek it in a calm, dignified and deliberate manner.”
The people said to Jundub [radiyallaahu-anhu], “Advise us.” He said: “The first thing of the human body to putrefy is the abdomen, so he who can eat nothing but good food [halaal and earned lawfully] should do so, and he who does as much as he can that nothing intervenes between him and paradise by not shedding even a handful of blood [i.e. unlawful killing], should do so.”
Mu’āwiyah (Allāh be pleased with him) said (whilst delivering a khutbah) (1), I heard the Prophet (sallallāhu alaihi wa sallam) saying, “If Allāh wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion. I am just a distributor, but the grant is from Allāh. (And remember) that this nation (those upon Tawheed and Sunnah) will not cease to be obedient to Allāh’s orders and they will not be harmed by those who oppose them until Allah’s order (Day of Judgment) is established.” (2)
Shaykh Abdul Muḥsin (ḥafidahullāh) begins his book, (‘Ishroona Ḥadeethan min Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Bukhāri Diraasa Asānīdihā wa Sḥarḥ Mutūnihā), with this ḥadīth, he then explained it in various ways:
It was said to Imaam Ahmad [rahimahullaah]: May Allaah reward you for the good you have [done] for Islaam. He said: ”Rather, Allaah has [done] good for me through Islaam. Who am I, and what am I?
عن أبي العالية قال : كان أبي صاحب عبادة ، فلما احتاج الناس إليه ، ترك العبادة وجلس للقوم

Ubayy ibn K’ab used to be a person of worship, and when the people were in need of him (due to his knowledge and high position amongst the companions) he would leave worship and sit with the people. (to answer their questions).

The noble Companion of the Messenger of Allah – from the Ansār and those who partook in the Battle of Badr.
He was from the few who had memorised the whole Qur’ān in the lifetime of the Prophet – sallallāhu alayhi wa sallam -whom he ordered the people to take the Qur’ān from.
The Messenger of Allah said to him, “O Abā Mundhir (Ubay)! Do you know which verse from the Book of Allah – (you have memorised) with you – is the greatest?” He (Ubay) said, “Allah and His Messenger know best”. The Prophet (repeated and) said, “O Aba Mundhir (Ubay)! Do you know which verse from the Book of Allah – (you have memorised) with you – is the greatest?”. He (Ubay) said, “Allāhu laa ilāha illa huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom … (āyatul-Kursi).He (Ubay) said, “He (The Prophet) then struck me on my chest and said “By Allah, may you be blessed in your knowledge O Aba Mundhir.” [Muslim, hadith no.810
On another occasion, the Prophet said to Ubay ibn K’ab, “Indeed Allah has commanded me to read the Qur’aan to you. He (Ubay) said, “Did He mention me by name?” He (the Prophet) said, “yes”. He (Ubay) said, “I was mentioned by the Lord of the Worlds?!” He said, “yes”. So Ubay began to shed tears. [Al-Bukhaari, hadith no.4961 and Muslim, hadith no. 799].
