The Self-amazed One Will Not Be Successful!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Mutarrif Bin Abdillaah Ash Shikh-kheer [rahimahullaah] said, “It is more beloved to me that I sleep all night [i.e. without performing the optional night prayer] and wake up in the morning whilst being regretful than stay up all night in prayer and then become self-amazed”. [Ref 1]

Imaam Adh-Dhahabi [rahimahullaah] commented on this statement and said, “The one who attributes piety to himself or is amazed with himself will not be successful”. [Ref 2]

Some of The Things That Captivates Insincere Hearts

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Some of The Things That Captivates Insincere Hearts:

Sometimes attracted towards vying for precedence in honour and leadership; captivated [or enthralled] by the one who praises him even with falsehood; shows enmity to the one who censures him even with truth; sometimes captivated [or enthralled] by Dirham and Deenaar [i.e. wealth, money]. The One Whose Knowledge And Status Leads Him to Haughtiness – [By Imaam Adh’Dhahabi]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Dhahabi [rahimahullaah] said: The most evil [type] of haughtiness [i.e. the haughtiness lesser than the one that led Iblees to disbelief] is that of one who is haughty towards the people due to knowledge [he possesses] and feels exalted within himself due to virtue [he possesses]; for indeed this [type of person] is not benefited by his knowledge. Indeed, the one who seeks knowledge for the afterlife [i.e. to perform righteous deeds for the afterlife], his knowledge will prevent him [i.e. restrain him from evil, unpraiseworthy deeds etc], his heart will possess khash’ya [i.e. that fear of Allaah founded upon knowledge of the greatness of Allaah, His perfect Dominion and sovereignty], his soul will be at ease and he will be watchful over himself. The Evil Effects of Misplaced Good Suspicion, Misplaced Evil Suspicion And Misplaced Loyalty!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him and prolong his life upon righteous deeds] said: Destructive Good Suspicion is to have a good suspicion of the people of falsehood whether are they disbelievers, innovators or evil (open) sinners. And that which led the disbelievers to belie the Messengers, (harbouring) a severe disbelief in them and their message was due to their evil suspicion towards the people of truth (i.e. the Prophets and their true followers), and having a good suspicion of their forefathers and their religions of falsehood and disbelief. Ahlul Bidah such as the Rawaafid, the khawaarij, the soofiyyah, the murji’ah, the qadariyyah and the people of Tahazzub Al-Baatil [false partisanship] are destroyed by good suspicion towards their shuyookh and figureheads, and their corrupt creeds. On the other hand, they are destroyed by their evil suspicions towards the truth and its people. Abul Hasan Al-Maribee and his followers have a share of both this destructive good suspicion and destructive evil suspicion. [Majmoo 13/363-364]

Toxic False Accusers And Disbelievers In Allaah!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said about the hypocrites:

And from the characteristics of the hypocrites is that they conceal the truth; deceptive towards its people and [falsely] accuse of them of their diseases [i.e. the Munaafiqoon falsely accuse the believers of that which they are upon].

They accuse them [i.e. the believers] when they enjoin good, forbid evil and call to Allaah and His Messenger. That is because they [hypocrites] are a people of trials and tribulation, and mischief makers in the earth. Allaah has made known to His Messenger and the believers that they (hypocrites) are mischief makers in the earth.

And when the inheritors [i.e. upright scholars] of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] call them to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger- especially to that which is unadulterated, they accuse them of  [committing] bidah and misguidance. When they see them being ones who abstain from the Dunyah [i.e. refraining from blameworthy pursuit of worldly things]- having a fervent desire for the hereafter and following the path of obedience to Allaah and His Messenger, they accuse them of being upon falsehood, deception and irreligious behaviour. When they see them with the truth, they mix it with falsehood and give that out to those of weak intellect- turning it into something repugnant in order to make them flee from it. And when they (hypocrites) have falsehood with them, they disguise it with the garment of truth and give it out- turning it into something that would be accepted from them. Taking Others As Intercessors Besides Allaah!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Have they taken others as intercessors besides Allah? Say: “Even if they have power over nothing whatever and have no intelligence?” Say: “To Allah belongs all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you shall be brought back.” [Soorah Zumar: Ayah:43-44]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: Allaah informed (us) that intercession belongs to the One who owns the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and that is Allaah (alone)…[for futher details see Ighaathatul Luhfaan 1/220-222]

And the saying of  (The Most High): And warn therewith (the Qur’an) those who fear that they will be gathered before their Lord, when there will be neither a protector nor an intercessor for them besides Him, so that they may fear Allah and keep their duty to Him (by abstaining from committing sins and by doing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained). [Soorah Al-An’aam: Ayah:51]

Shaikh Saaleh Aala Shaikh (hafidha-hullaah) said: So when it is the case that intercession belongs to Allaah (alone), and that it not for anyone to seek intercession from other than Allaah– from one who has passed away and whose actions have ceased to exist- then it becomes established that seeking intercession and asking the dead people besides Allaah is shirk.  And the happiest people who will receive the intercession of Al-Mustapha [the Chosen One (i.e. the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] are the people who single out Allaah in worship and are free from all types of shirk, and they are those who are sincere to their (utterance) of the statement Laa-ilaaha-Ilal-laah (None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah). [Source: al-Mindhaar Fee Bayaani katheer Minal Akhtaa Ash-shaa-i-a by Shaikh Saaleh Aala Shaikh: page:10]

High Heels Shoes

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Question: What is the Islamic ruling on wearing high heels? Answer: The least regarding this affair is that it is kiraahah (i.e. it is disliked in relation to the Islamic rulings) and this is because; firstly there is deceit in it, as the woman appears taller than she really is. Secondly there is a danger that she may fall, and finally her health may be jeopardized as proven by the doctors. [Source: Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah). Majmoo’ Al-Fataawaa (6/397)]

Inheritors, Cultivators And Destroyed Ones – [A Statement of Wisdom Regarding The Deviant Sects]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Abdur-Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidha-hullaah] was asked whether the sects that existed in the past such as the Mutizilah, Jahmiyyah and others are present today; so he said, “The scholars state in their books about the sects: [لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ وَارِث وَلِكُلِّ أَرْضٍ حَارِث وَلِكُلِّ ضَرٍّ هَالِك -Every people have their inheritors, every earth has a cultivator and every evil has one destroyed by it.” This is enough an answer [i.e. the contemporary sects are from the ancient ones]”. [Source: Sharh Aqeedah Al-Waasitiyyah: lesson:9]

Be Mindful of Allaah’s Anger In Three affairs!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawree (rahimahullaah) said: Be mindful of Allaah’s Anger in three affairs: Be mindful of falling short in that which you have been commanded; be mindful that He sees you, whilst you are not pleased with what He has portioned for you (of the dunyah); be mindful that you seek for something from the worldly life and do not find it, so you become angry with your Lord. Just Take The Good From The Misguided Ones And Abandon Their Mistakes!!!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy.

Question to Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him]: When we give advice to some of those who educate and nurture the youth against the evil scholars, they say: ‘take the good they have with them and abandon their mistakes’. Is this correct?

Answer: And all praise belongs to Allaah; there are scholars of the Sunnah and uprightness. Allaah (subhaanah) has not made you to have a need of the evil scholars and the books of misguidance, whilst we have authentic books. Therefore, we hold onto these affairs and we neither go to the scholars of misguidance nor the innovators, nor to the books that are mixed (with falsehood). And all praise belongs to Allaah; we have pure and good books and scholars, so we hold onto the scholars and the authentic books. [Al-Ijaabaatul Muhimmah (Vol 1, page: 144-145)]

Question To Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him): What is the ruling on the one who defends a person of innovation and he says: ‘(This person) has good deeds and has given service to Islaam in such’, since this has become widespread amongst some of the callers.  What is the ruling on this?

Answer: We clarify errors in order that the people may keep away from it. As for possessing good deeds, then this is with Allaah. We do not have knowledge of that.. Whatever his good deeds are, they will not be lost with Allaah and we are not a scale by which good and evil deeds are weighed. Good and evil deeds have their scale on the Day of Judgement with Allaah (The Most High).  Our intention is not to diminish the individual, rather our intention is to clarify the truth and unveil errors so that people may not fall to it. As for the (personal/private affairs of the person), we do not enter into that. If he has good deeds, then his good deeds will not be lost with Allaah. We neither talk about his good deeds nor do we say that he has no good deeds. Allaah is more knowledgeable about his good deeds and our intention is to clarify errors in order that people do not incline towards it. [Source: Al-Ijaabaatul Muhimmah (Vol 1, page 145)]
