A specific question about women study circles–Al’Allaamah Ubaid Al-Jaabiri

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

All praise is due to Allaah. We thank Him (The Most High) for protecting us from many of the trials—the trials of Shubuhaaat and Shahawaat. The Salafiyyoon of Al-Markaz As-Salafi in particular must thank Allaah (The Most High) for granting them the Tawfeeq to recognize the truth in many of the affairs of the Salafiyyah Dawah. Therefore, we should be mindful of self-amazement, boastfulness and stubbornness when truth reaches us, because our hearts are not in our control. Likewise, it is incumbent upon us to spread truth with wisdom, fine admonition and firmness after recognizing and acting upon it.  Neither should we fear the blame of the blamers nor should we give any attention to anyone who employ tricks and ambiguity in order to evade the clear verdicts of the scholars.  Al-Allaamah Ubaid Al-Jaabiri (may Allaah preserve him) was asked a specific question from Manchester via Ustaadh Uwais Taweel (may Allaah preserve him) about those who are worthy of teaching Salafiyyah….

Question

Is it better for us to attend the masjid and seek ilm and learn from the tullaab, or learn in our houses with sisters, even though they may not have a background in knowledge.

Answer

Shaykh said: the students of knowledge are known to be Students of knowledge and steadfast upon that (Salafi) then take knowledge from the students of knowledge. As for the sisters, then there is no harm in the sisters teaching as long as the sister has studied in Umm Al- Quraa or an establishment and studied with scholars, then it’s no harm in her teaching.

So Ustaadh Uwais (may Allaah preserve him) continued and asked “what happens if she hasn’t studied?”

So the Shaykh (may Allaah preserve him) said “La (no). Rather she should go to the tullaab the students of knowledge who are well known. But no harm if she has studied in Umm al Qura or with the people of knowledge.”  See link:  http://www.learnaboutislam.co.uk/audio/uways-at-taweel/uways-at-taweel-talk-2.mp3 [Question starts after 20 Mins—the question was asked specifically to remove all doubts people may seek to propagate in this affair through ambiguous and general statements.

An offshoot of the khawaarij-The companions of Naafi Ibn Al-Azraq

Imaam Ibnul Jawzi (rahimahullaah) said:

The khawaarij have not ceased rebelling against the (Muslim) rulers and they have different Madhabs. The followers of Naafi Ibn Al-Azraq used to say (about themselves): ‘’We are polytheists as long as we are living in the land of disbelief (i.e. in a land of the disbelievers) and when we leave, then we are Muslims.’’  They said: ‘’those who oppose our Madhab are polytheists; those who commit major sins (besides shirk) are polytheists; those who stay behind and do not agree with us in fighting against (the Muslim Rulers) are people of disbelief.’’  These ones (i.e. the followers of Naafi) made lawful the killing of the women and children of the Muslims and passed the judgement of polytheism against them.

Reminder

Al-Allaamah Ubaid Ibn Abdillaah Al-Jaabiri (may Allaah preserve him) said:

There is none who hid (or hides) behind the Sunnah– the people beguiled by him, gathered around him to learn, adhered to him, became dependent on him and accepted everything he said–except that Allaah will reveal his affair, uncover and expose his concealed state of affairs to specific individuals and to the general public, regarding what was hidden and apparent of his deception, his mixing truth with falsehood, his plots and deceitful practices.  Allaah facilitates men of virtue, intelligence, wisdom, strength and exceptional natural ability–possessors of knowledge, skill and sound understanding of the religion–through whom He (Allaah) unveils the affair of that trickster, dubious and deceitful person. www.sahab.net/home/?p=329

You are either a false accuser or an ill-informed one! Rebuttal of weak doubts.

Do we blindly follow the Scholars: [Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Ubaid, Shaikh Fawzaan, Shaikh Zaid etc] or the Salafi students within and outside of the UK- Where is your proof?!

Ibn Abdul-Barr (rahimahullaah) said:

“According to the scholars, Taqleed (i.e. blind adherence) is other than Ittibaa [i.e. adherence to an authentic affair narrated from the Messenger-sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and obviously with the correct understanding of the Salaf]; because ittibaa is to follow a person based on what is apparent to you of the superiority of his statement and soundness of his school of thought. And Taqleed is that you speak with his statement, whilst you neither know the angle of his speech nor its meaning and you reject speech besides it; or his mistake is made manifest to you, but you follow him and venerate his opposition, whilst the corruptness of his speech is clear to you. This is what is forbidden to speak with in the religion of Allaah (The Most High)”

O Salafi students! Listen to this advice…

Imaam Dhahabi (rahimahullah) said:

“It is obligatory upon the scholar to speak with (sincere) intention and a good aim. If his speech amazes him, he should keep quiet; and if keeping quiet amazes him, he should speak. He should not slacken in examining his soul, because it loves fame and praise” [Siyar A’laam Nubulaa 4/494]
