Part 1: Bias Writer Disapproves of Men Who Are Married to More Than One Woman, But Suggests Illegal Sexual Intercourse to Muslim Men! [A Brief Gentle Response Before a Possible Stern Rebuttal]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ يَہۡدِى لِلَّتِى هِىَ أَقۡوَمُ

Verily, this Qur’an guides to that which is most just and right. [Surah Al-Israa. Aayah 9]

Imaam Muhammad Al-Ameen Bin Muhammad Al-Mukhtaar Ash-Shanqeeti [rahimahullaah] said:

And from the guidance of the Qur’aan to that which is most just and right is that it allows [a man to marry] four wives; but if the man fears that he cannot be just between them, then he is to restrict himself to one or those whom his right hand possesses, as Allaah (The Most High) stated:

وَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تُقۡسِطُواْ فِى ٱلۡيَتَـٰمَىٰ فَٱنكِحُواْ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ مَثۡنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَ‌ۖ فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡدِلُواْ فَوَٲحِدَةً أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَـٰنُكُمۡ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ أَدۡنَىٰٓ أَلَّا تَعُولُواْ

And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan- girls, then marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one or (the captives and the slaves) that your right hands possess. [Surah An-Nisaa. Ayah:3]

No doubt the path that is the most just and right of paths is that which legitimizes for a man to have more than one wife due to the tangible affairs known to every sensible person. And from those affairs is that an individual woman menstruates, falls ill and contends with other hindrances that prevent her from fulfilling the more specific duties of marriage, whereas a man is readily prepared as a means to increasing the Ummah.

And from those affairs is that Allaah made it a common phenomenon that men are fewer in number than women in the various regions of the world and are more often exposed to the causes of death in all walks of life. If a man were restricted to one wife, there would remain a great number of women deprived of marriage, so they [both men and women] will be strongly urged towards illegal sexual intercourse. Therefore, turning away from the guidance of the Qur’aan in this affair is one of the greatest causes of moral deprivation. It is (one of the greatest causes) of being lowered to the level of animals due to a lack of safeguarding chastity, preservation of nobility, good moral conduct and manners. So Glorified and Exalted is (Allaah) above all that evil they associate with Him, The All-Wise, Well-Acquainted with all things. Allaah said:

الٓر‌ۚ كِتَـٰبٌ أُحۡكِمَتۡ ءَايَـٰتُهُ ۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتۡ مِن لَّدُنۡ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ

‘(This is) a Book, the verses whereof are perfected (in every sphere of knowledge), and then explained in detail from One (Allaah), Who is All-Wise, Well-Acquainted (with all things)’ [Surah Hood. Ayah 1]

And from those affairs is that women are all readily prepared for marriage, whereas many men do not have the ability to fulfil the requirements of marriage due to poverty. Those prepared for marriage amongst men are fewer than those amongst women. A woman is not hindered whereas a man is hindered by poverty and the ability to fulfil the requirements of marriage. If a man were restricted to one woman, many women prepared for marriage would have missed the opportunity for marriage. This would become a cause for loss of virtue, (a means to) depravation and moral decadence, and the opportunity to preserve the human race would be lost.

So if a man fears that he will not be able to deal justly between the wives, then it is incumbent upon him to restrict himself to one or to those whom his right hand possesses; because Allaah has stated:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡعَدۡلِ وَٱلۡإِحۡسَـٰنِ

Verily, Allaah enjoins justice and kind treatment. [Surah Nahl. Aayah 90]

It is not permissible to incline towards giving preferential (treatment) with regards to the rights given by the divine law to each of the wives due to the saying of Allaah:

وَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعُوٓاْ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ وَلَوۡ حَرَصۡتُمۡ‌ۖ فَلَا تَمِيلُواْ ڪُلَّ ٱلۡمَيۡلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَٱلۡمُعَلَّقَةِ

You will never be able to do perfect justice between wives [regarding what is hidden in your heart as to who amongst them you love the most] even if it is your ardent desire, so do not incline too much to one of them [by giving her more of your time and provision] so as to leave the other hanging [i.e. neither divorced nor being given the rights due to her]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah: 129]

As for the natural inclination towards loving some of them more than others, the human being is not able to prevent this because it is an emotional (affair) and the soul’s desire, but it is not something that is acted upon [i.e. leads to injustice]. This is what is intended by Allaah’s statement:

وَلَن تَسۡتَطِيعُوٓاْ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ بَيۡنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ

You will never be able to do perfect justice between wives. [Surah Nisaa; Ayah: 129]

The claim of some of the disbelievers amongst the enemies of Islaam is that to have more than one wife necessitates constant argumentation and disagreement which ends up in a life of misery, because whenever one of the wives is pleased the other is angered, so the two (wives) are always in displeasure and this is not wisdom.

This (above statement of some of the disbelievers) is a worthless statement whose worthlessness is clear to every sensible person. That is because argument and disagreement between individual members of a family does not cease, because it takes place between a man and his mother, father, children and his only wife. It is a common affair of no great concern alongside the overriding tremendous benefits of marrying more than one woman, such as safeguarding women, facilitating marriage for them and increasing the number of the Ummah so that they can stand firm against the enemies of Islaam in every affair; and an overriding tremendous benefit takes precedence over prevention of a small harm. [Ref 1]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [rahimahullaah] said:

If a person marries (several women) in order to protect himself from (Zina) and to increase in numbers of children, then there is no problem in this. However, it should not be for the (purpose) of playing around. [Ref 2]

Believers Mocked or Threatened Because They Refuse to Commit Lewd Acts – [An Inheritance From The Ancient Destroyed Nations]

Allaah [The Almighty] said:

وَلُوطًا إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦۤ أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلۡفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِہَا مِنۡ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

إِنَّڪُمۡ لَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَہۡوَةً۬ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ‌ۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ۬ مُّسۡرِفُونَ

وَمَا ڪَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦۤ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: “Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns)? “Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins).” And the answer of his people was only that they said: “Drive them out of your town, these are indeed people who want to be pure (from sins)!” [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayaat 80-82]

Short Commentary On The Above Aayaat

[ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ – Drive them out of your town], meaning drive Lout out and the believers.

[إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ – these are indeed people who want to be pure (from sins)!], meaning they want to refrain from having sexual intercourse with men and women in their anuses. [Ref a]

They either said this that Lout and the believers want to refrain from falling into this lewd act so they should not live in their city or they said this as mockery. [Ref b] Qataadah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Blamed for something that is not blameworthy [i.e. mocked or threatened because they kept away from sin]”. [Ref c]

What Was The End of of Lout’s People?

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

فَأَنجَيۡنَـٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُ ۥ كَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡغَـٰبِرِينَ

وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّطَرً۬ا‌ۖ فَٱنظُرۡ ڪَيۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

Then We saved him and his family, except his wife; she was of those who remained behind (in the torment). And We rained down on them a rain (of stones). Then see what was the end of the Mujrimun (criminals). [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayaat 83-84]

Prophetic Texts and Comments of The Scholars Regarding Anal Intercourse

Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘Be shy; indeed Allaah is not shy of [stating] the truth. Do not approach women [i.e. sexual intercourse] in their back passages”.

Shaikh Zayd Bin Haadi [rahimahullaah] stated regarding the statement of the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], “Be shy; indeed Allaah is not shy of [stating] the truth. Do not approach women [i.e. do not have sexual intercourse with your wives] in their back passages”; this is shyness in the presence of Allaah – that neither are you seen committing what is forbidden and what you have been commanded to avoid, nor falling short [i.e. out of negligence, laziness, heedlessness etc] in the mandatory and obligatory duties. Likewise, one should have shyness with regards to the rights of his Lord. Also he should be shy of the people within the boundaries of the Sharee’ah and this must be established by way of deeds, so that he is shy in the presence of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and in the presence of the people. And in relation to this shyness is that women [i.e. our wives] are not approached through their back passages [i.e. sexual intercourse in the back passage], for indeed the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Cursed is the one who approaches a woman in her back passage”. Therefore, the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] forbade this and declared it a major sin, because neither is it the place where the semen should be placed nor where offspring is sought. [Ref 1]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said: The back passage is a place of filth [i.e. the exit place of excrement]. Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] forbids [a husband] from having sexual intercourse with a menstruating woman [i.e. his wife] due to the impurity in her vulva, then how about having sexual intercourse in the place [i.e. rectum] from which [exits] heavy impurity.[Ref 2]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: The Quraish and the Ansaar used approach their women from the back (i.e. sexual intercourse in the vagina whilst the wife is not lying down on her back), so the Yahood rebuked them for that. Then Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] revealed: [نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَّكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّىٰ شِئْتُمْ – Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (i.e. have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will]. [2:223]

In the Saheehayn (Bukhaari and Muslim) it has been reported from Jaabir (radiyallaahu-anhu) who said: The Yahood used to say, “If one has sexual intercourse with his wife from the back, then she will deliver a squint-eyed child.” So Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) revealed: [نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَّكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّىٰ شِئْتُمْ – Your wives are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (i.e. have sexual relations with your wives in any manner as long as it is in the vagina and not in the anus), when or how you will]. [Ref 3]

The vagina is the place of seeking after children. As for the anus, it has not been uttered on the tongue of a single Prophet among the Prophets that it is permissible (to have sexual intercourse in the anus). Imaam Abu Daawud (rahimahullaah) reported in his Sunan from Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ‘’Cursed is the one who has sexual intercourse with his wife in the anus.’’ [Ref 4]

If it is the case that Allaah has prohibited sexual intercourse through the vagina due to an apparent harm (i.e. at the time of menstruation or post-natal bleeding), then what about the area (i.e. the anus) which is a place for removal of harmful things (i.e. faeces) permanently. The woman has a right to be fulfilled by the husband during sexual relations; therefore to perform sexual intercourse with her through the anus is violation of this right. Anal intercourse neither fulfils her sexual desires nor does it reach its objective. Also, neither is the anus naturally prepared for this act nor was it created for that purpose; rather the vagina is the natural place prepared for sexual relations.

Sexual intercourse through the anus is harmful for the man; likewise it is greatly harmful for the woman because it is something very strange and far removed from innate natural human disposition. It is from the greatest causes of punishment and blessings being taken away because it brings about Allaah’s Anger and Curse. It also deprives the person of shyness because shyness gives life to the heart [i.e. makes it hate and stay away from evil (and) repugnant acts]. However, if the heart is deprived of this shyness, it starts beautifying repugnant acts and declaring good acts repugnant, and thus corruption becomes strengthened and dominant. [Ref 5]

To Proceed:

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ

–Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 64]

Meaning: say to the people of the scripture – the Jews and Christians,

[تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ – Come to a word that is just between us and you]- Meaning: Come let us unite upon the statement which all the Prophets and Messengers agreed upon and none opposes it except the obstinate and misguided. This statement is not specific to anyone of us; rather it is something that you and us should establish between us, so this is justice and fairness in debate. Then Allaah explains this and said:

[أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا – that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him]- Meaning: We should single out Allaah in worship, devoting all love, fear and hope to Him alone, and we should not associate anyone as partner with Allaah in worship- neither a Prophet, an Angel, a Righteous Person, an Idol, a Deified image, a living or non-living thing, [وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ – and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allaah]; rather all obedience is to be devoted to Allah and His Messengers. [فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ – Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]”. [Tafsir As-Sadi]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ ءَادَمَ‌ۖ خَلَقَهُ ۥ مِن تُرَابٍ۬ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ ۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ

Verily, the likeness of ‘Iesa (Jesus) in the sight of Allaah is like that of Aadam.

He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: “Be!” – and he was.

[Surah Aal Imran. Aayah 59]

Indeed, Allaah created this type of human being to manifest His All-Encompassing Power. Allaah created Aadam [alayhis salaam] without a male and a female [i.e. a father and mother] and Allaah created Aadam’s [alayhis salaam] wife – Hawaa [alayhas salaam] from Aadam’s rib and without a mother, as Allaah said: [وَخَلَقَ مِنۡہَا زَوۡجَهَا – And from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwa (Eve)]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 1]

Allaah created the Messiah [alayhis salaam] from a woman and without a father, and Allaah created all humankind from a male and female. Therefore, the manner in which Aadam and Hawaa [alayhismas salaam] were created was more amazing than the manner in which the Messiah [alayhis salaam] was created, for indeed Hawaa was created from Aadam’s rib and this is more amazing than the manner in which the Messiah was created in Maryam’s [alayhas salaam] womb; and the manner in which Aadam was created was more amazing than the way in which both Hawaa and the Messiah were created. This is why Allaah likened the creation of Aadam to that of the Messiah even though the manner in which Aadam was created was more amazing. Therefore, when it is the case that Allaah is able to create Aadam from clay, even though clay is not something that is part of the human’s body, then is Allaah not able to create the Messiah from a woman when it is the case that the woman is a human being? Allaah created Aadam [alayhis salaam] from clay and said to him, “Be” and he was when the soul was blown into him. Likewise, the soul was blown into the Messiah and Allaah said, “Be” and he was. Aadam did not acquire both the attributes of Allaah and that of humans when the soul was blown into him, rather he became a human; likewise, the Messiah became a human after the soul was blown into him.

Allaah revealed this Aayah [i.e. Aayah 59 Aal Imraan] amongst those Aayaat which He revealed regarding the Christians – when the Christians of Najraan came to the Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and debated with him regarding the Messiah [alayhis salaam]; so Allaah revealed what He revealed and clarified the truth regarding that which the Jews and Christians differed and declared the false belief of both groups – the exaggeration of the Christians regarding the status of the Messiah and Jews’ disparagement against the Messiah. Then Allaah said:

فَمَنۡ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ فَقُلۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ نَدۡعُ أَبۡنَآءَنَا وَأَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ وَنِسَآءَنَا وَنِسَآءَكُمۡ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمۡ ثُمَّ نَبۡتَہِلۡ فَنَجۡعَل لَّعۡنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلۡڪَـٰذِبِينَ

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡقَصَصُ ٱلۡحَقُّ‌ۚ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمُۢ بِٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ

Then whoever disputes with you concerning him [‘Iesa (Jesus)] after (all this) knowledge that has come to you, [i.e. ‘Iesa (Jesus)] being a slave of Allah, and having no share in Divinity) say: (O Muhammad) “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves – then we pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” Verily! This is the true narrative [about the story of ‘Iesa (Jesus)], and, Laa ilaaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the One and the Only True God, Who has neither a wife nor a son). And indeed, Allah is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. And if they turn away (and do not accept these true proofs and evidences), then surely, Allah is All-Aware of those who do mischief. Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.”

[Surah Aal Imraan. Aayaat 61-64]

So, the Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] acted on the above statement of Allaah and called them to come along, so that him and them invoke the curse of Allaah on the liar, but the Christians knew that if they did so, Allaah will curse them, so they agreed to pay jizya.

Then when the Messenger of Allaah Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] wrote to Heraclius- the king of Rome, he wrote the statement of Allaah:

Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayaat 64]

The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] sometimes used to recite this above Aayah [i.e. Aayah 64. Aal Imraan] in the second Rak’ah of Sunnah prayer of Fajr, and in the first Rak’ah of the Sunnah of Fajr, he recited the Aayah:

قُولُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَـٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُ ۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ

Say (O Muslims), “We believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma’il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya’qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya’qub (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam).” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 136]

All this clarifies that the Messiah [alayhis salaam] is a servant of Allaah and not a god, and he was created just as Aadam was created. Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] was commanded to call the one who said that the Messiah is a god, so that him and them gather their sons, women folk and closest relatives, and then pray and invoke (sincerely) the Curse of Allah upon those who lie. Therefore, if the Christians were lying regarding their statement that the Messiah is Allaah, then the curse of Allaah would be have been justified against them, and if they said that the Messiah is not Allaah, rather he is a servant of Allaah [whilst trying to hide the belief they held that the Messiah is Allaah], then the curse of Allaah would have been justified against them. This is a just position taken by a person who has certainty that he is upon truth. However, when the Christians knew that they were not upon truth, they refrained from invoking this curse; then Allaah said:

[إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡقَصَصُ ٱلۡحَقُّ‌ۚ وَمَا مِنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ – Verily! This is the true narrative [about the story of ‘Iesa (Jesus)], and, Laa ilaaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the One and the Only True God, Who has neither a wife nor a son)].

So Allaah declared the falsehood of the Christians who said that the Messiah is a true god from a true god.

Finally, we repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others.

You Are a Wahhaabi, You Hate The Family of The Prophet! [Absurd Claim of Pathetic Wailers and Heretical Proponents of Self-flagellation On The Day of Aashooraa]

Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Hadee Al-Waadi’ee [rahimahullaah] said:

Quote:

So, you say to the Raafidah, “Indeed, it is Shirk to call upon other than Allaah when seeking benefit and seeking protection from harm regarding an affair which none can (fulfil) except Allaah. It is not permissible to invoke Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu-anhu] or other than him amongst the dead [may Allaah have mercy upon them]…. Indeed, is it permissible to invoke the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’ They [i.e. Raafidah] say, “You are a Wahhaabi, you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)’’.

Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] said:

وَعَجِبُوٓاْ أَن جَآءَهُم مُّنذِرٌ۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ‌ۖ وَقَالَ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا سَـٰحِرٌ۬ كَذَّابٌ

أَجَعَلَ ٱلۡأَلِهَةَ إِلَـٰهً۬ا وَٲحِدًا‌ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىۡءٌ عُجَابٌ۬

وَٱنطَلَقَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِنۡہُمۡ أَنِ ٱمۡشُواْ وَٱصۡبِرُواْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِكُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىۡءٌ۬ يُرَادُ

مَا سَمِعۡنَا بِہَـٰذَا فِى ٱلۡمِلَّةِ ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ إِنۡ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا ٱخۡتِلَـٰقٌ

أَءُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلذِّكۡرُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا‌ۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ فِى شَكٍّ۬ مِّن ذِكۡرِى‌ۖ بَل لَّمَّا يَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِ

And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: ‘This (Prophet Muhammad) is a sorcerer, a liar. Has he made the aaliha (gods) (all) into One Ilaah (God – Allaah). Verily, this is a curious thing!’ And the leaders among them went about (saying): “Go on and remain constant to your aaliha (gods)! Verily, this is a thing designed (against you)! We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?” Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Qur’aan)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! [Soorah Saad; Ayah:4-8]

So, you say to the Raafidah: Indeed, it is Shirk to call upon other than Allaah when seeking benefit and seeking protection from harm regarding a matter which none can (fulfil) except Allaah. It is not permissible to invoke Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu-anhu] or other than him amongst the dead [may Allaah have mercy upon them], because Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِن قِطۡمِيرٍ

إِن تَدۡعُوهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُواْ دُعَآءَكُمۡ وَلَوۡ سَمِعُواْ مَا ٱسۡتَجَابُواْ لَكُمۡۖ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُونَ بِشِرۡڪِكُمۡۚ وَلَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثۡلُ خَبِيرٍ۬

And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmeer (the thin membrane over the date stone). If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call, and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything). O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allaah, but Allaah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of all praise.’ [Soorah Faatir; Ayah:13-14]

And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدۡعُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسۡتَجِيبُ لَهُ ۥۤ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ وَهُمۡ عَن دُعَآٮِٕهِمۡ غَـٰفِلُونَ

وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُواْ لَهُمۡ أَعۡدَآءً۬ وَكَانُواْ بِعِبَادَتِہِمۡ كَـٰفِرِينَ

‘And who is more astray than one who calls (invokes) besides Allaah, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them? And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become enemies for them and will deny their worshipping.’ [Soorah Ahqaaf. Aayah:5-6]

And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

وَمَن يَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرۡهَـٰنَ لَهُ ۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ ۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦۤ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ

And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allaah, any other ilaah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful. [Soorah Muminoon; Ayah:117]

And if you say, “Indeed others have joined them (i.e. the Mushrikoon) in this (affair)”, so I say, ‘’Whoever joins them in this (affair of shirk) is similar to them”. Allaah said:

وَلَا تَدۡعُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكَ وَلَا يَضُرُّكَ‌ۖ فَإِن فَعَلۡتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِذً۬ا مِّنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

وَإِن يَمۡسَسۡكَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ۬ فَلَا ڪَاشِفَ لَهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۖ وَإِن يُرِدۡكَ بِخَيۡرٍ۬ فَلَا رَآدَّ لِفَضۡلِهِۦ‌ۚ يُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ‌ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

And invoke not besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong doers). And if Allaah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He will. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ [Soorah Yoonus; Ayah:106-107]

When you relate these verses and their likes to the (Rawaafid), and then say to them, “Indeed, is it permissible to invoke the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’ They say, “You are a Wahhaabi, you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)’’. This is the same (affair) regarding the extreme Soofees; when you say, “Indeed, the awliyaa can neither benefit nor harm”, they say, “You hate the awliyaa”.

Indeed, Mighty is the word that comes out of the mouths of these two sects; they utter nothing but a lie.

Allaah [The Most High] said: [ قُلۡ يَـٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ –Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 64]

Meaning: say to the people of the scripture – the Jews and Christians, [تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ ڪَلِمَةٍ۬ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ – Come to a word that is just between us and you]- Meaning: Come let us unite upon the statement which all the Prophets and Messengers agreed upon and none opposes it except the obstinate and misguided. This statement is not specific to anyone of us; rather it is something that you and us should establish between us, so this is justice and fairness in debate. Then Allaah explains this and said: [أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا – that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him]- Meaning: We should single out Allaah in worship, devoting all love, fear and hope to Him alone, and we should not associate anyone as partner with Allaah in worship- neither a Prophet, an Angel, a Righteous Person, an Idol, a Deified image, a living or non-living thing, [وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ – and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allaah]; rather all obedience is to be devoted to Allah and His Messengers. [فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ – Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]”. [Tafsir As-Sadi]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُ ۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَأُوْلُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ قَآٮِٕمَۢا بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ‌ۚ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَڪِيمُ

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمُ‌ۗ وَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡيَۢا بَيۡنَهُمۡ‌ۗ وَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلۡحِسَابِ

فَإِنۡ حَآجُّوكَ فَقُلۡ أَسۡلَمۡتُ وَجۡهِىَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَنِ‌ۗ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡأُمِّيِّـۧنَ ءَأَسۡلَمۡتُمۡ‌ۚ فَإِنۡ أَسۡلَمُواْ فَقَدِ ٱهۡتَدَواْ‌ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰغُ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ

Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. Laa ilaaha illaa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, then surely, Allah is Swift in calling to account. So if they dispute with you (Muhammad) say: “I have submitted myself to Allah (in Islam), and (so have) those who follow me.” And say to those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and to those who are illiterates (Arab pagans): “Do you (also) submit yourselves (to Allah in Islam)?” If they do, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the Message; and Allah is All-Seer of (His ) slaves.

[Surah Aal Imraan. Aayaat 18-20]

And after Allaah [The Exalted] stated: [ إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمُ‌ۗ – Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam], He commanded the Prophet [peace ana blessings of Allaah be upon him] to say, “I submit myself to Allaah and also those who follow me are to submit”; and that he should say to those who received the Scripture [the Jews and Christians], and the unlettered Arabs [those who have no book and other than them], “Do you (also) submit yourselves (to Allah in Islam)?” The Arabs are included in the term Ummiyyoon [unlettered or illiterate] and everyone agrees with this; but as for other than them, then either they are included in this term or other clear statements which shows that Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] was sent to entire humankind and jinn.

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

فَإِنۡ أَسۡلَمُواْ فَقَدِ ٱهۡتَدَواْ‌ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰغُ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِٱلۡعِبَادِ

If they do, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the Message; and Allah is All-Seer of (His ) slaves. [3:20]

Therefore, Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] commanded the people of the Scripture to accept the same Islaam which he commanded the unlettered Arabs to accept, and that they will be guided if they accept Islaam, but if they do not submit, then Allaah said: [فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَلَـٰغُ‌ۗ – your duty is only to convey the Message] – Meaning, “I only convey to you the message of my lord and He will judge you”. Therefore, all this shows that Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] conveyed to the people of the Scripture that which he conveyed to the unlettered Arabs, and that Allaah will judge them for abandoning Islaam, just as the unlettered Arabs will be judged.

Al-Bukhaari and Muslim reported the hadeeth in which is stated the contents of the letter sent to Heraclius – the king of the Christians: “From Muhammad, the Messenger of Allaah, to Hercules, the leader of the Byzantines. Peace be upon those who follow the true guidance. I invite you to embrace Islam so that you may live in security. If you come within the fold of Islam, Allaah will give you double reward, but in case you turn your back upon it, then the burden of the sins of all your people shall fall on your shoulders.

And what is even more explicit is that Allaah informed us that Islaam is the religion of the Prophets, such as Nooh, ibraaheem, Yaqoob [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] and their followers, including the disciples [may Allaah have mercy upon them]. Islaam is the religion of every era and place. Allaah [The Exalted] stated about Nooh [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] the first Messenger to the people of the earth:

وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡہِمۡ نَبَأَ نُوحٍ إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَـٰقَوۡمِ إِن كَانَ كَبُرَ عَلَيۡكُم مَّقَامِى وَتَذۡكِيرِى بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَڪَّلۡتُ فَأَجۡمِعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَكُمۡ وَشُرَكَآءَكُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُنۡ أَمۡرُكُمۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غُمَّةً۬ ثُمَّ ٱقۡضُوٓاْ إِلَىَّ وَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

فَإِن تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ فَمَا سَأَلۡتُكُم مِّنۡ أَجۡرٍ‌ۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۖ وَأُمِرۡتُ أَنۡ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ

And recite to them the news of Nuh (Noah). When he said to his people: “O my people, if my stay (with you), and my reminding (you) of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah is hard on you, then I put my trust in Allah. So devise your plot, you and your partners, and let not your plot be in doubt for you. Then pass your sentence on me and give me no respite. “But if you turn away [from accepting my doctrine of Islamic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none but Allah], then no reward have I asked of you, my reward is only from Allah, and I have been commanded to be one of the Muslims (those who submit to Allah’s Will).” [Surah Yunus. Aayaat 71-72]

As for Ibraaheem [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَإِذۡ يَرۡفَعُ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمُ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِ وَإِسۡمَـٰعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّآ‌ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

رَبَّنَا وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا مُسۡلِمَيۡنِ لَكَ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِنَآ أُمَّةً۬ مُّسۡلِمَةً۬ لَّكَ وَأَرِنَا مَنَاسِكَنَا وَتُبۡ عَلَيۡنَآ‌ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلتَّوَّابُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

رَبَّنَا وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِيهِمۡ رَسُولاً۬ مِّنۡہُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡہِمۡ ءَايَـٰتِكَ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةَ وَيُزَكِّيہِمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

وَمَن يَرۡغَبُ عَن مِّلَّةِ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمَ إِلَّا مَن سَفِهَ نَفۡسَهُ ۥ‌ۚ وَلَقَدِ ٱصۡطَفَيۡنَـٰهُ فِى ٱلدُّنۡيَا‌ۖ وَإِنَّهُ ۥ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُ ۥ رَبُّهُ ۥۤ أَسۡلِمۡ‌ۖ قَالَ أَسۡلَمۡتُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

وَوَصَّىٰ بِہَآ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعۡقُوبُ يَـٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصۡطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ

And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) and (his son) Isma’il (Ishmael) were raising the foundations of the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah), (saying), “Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us. Verily! You are the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.” “Our Lord! And make us submissive unto You and of our offspring a nation submissive unto You, and show us our Manasik (all the ceremonies of pilgrimage – Hajj and ‘Umrah, etc.), and accept our repentance. Truly, You are the One Who accepts repentance, the Most Merciful. “Our Lord! Send amongst them a Messenger of their own (and indeed Allah answered their invocation by sending Muhammad Peace be upon him ), who shall recite unto them Your Verses and instruct them in the Book (this Qur’an) and Al-Hikmah (full knowledge of the Islamic laws and jurisprudence or wisdom or Prophethood, etc.), and sanctify them. Verily! You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” And who turns away from the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) (i.e. Islamic Monotheism) except him who befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter he will be among the righteous. When his Lord said to him, “Submit (i.e. be a Muslim)!” He said, “I have submitted myself (as a Muslim) to the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).” And this (submission to Allah, Islam) was enjoined by Ibrahim (Abraham) upon his sons and by Ya’qub (Jacob), (saying), “O my sons! Allah has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the Faith of Islam (as Muslims – Islamic Monotheism).” [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayaat 127-132]

So, indeed Allaah [The Exalted] informed us that He commanded Ibraaheem [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] with Islaam, who submitted and commanded his offspring with it, and Ya’qoob [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] commanded his children not to die except as Muslims. Allaah said:

مَا كَانَ إِبۡرَٲهِيمُ يَہُودِيًّ۬ا وَلَا نَصۡرَانِيًّ۬ا وَلَـٰكِن كَانَ حَنِيفً۬ا مُّسۡلِمً۬ا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

إِنَّ أَوۡلَى ٱلنَّاسِ بِإِبۡرَٲهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَـٰذَا ٱلنَّبِىُّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ‌ۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَلِىُّ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

Ibrahim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism – to worship none but Allah Alone) and he was not of polytheists. Verily, among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrahim (Abraham) are those who followed him, and this Prophet (Muhammad) and those who have believed (Muslims). And Allah is the Wali (Protector and Helper) of the believers. [3: 67-68]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated about Yusuf the son of Yaqoob [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], that he said:

رَبِّ قَدۡ ءَاتَيۡتَنِى مِنَ ٱلۡمُلۡكِ وَعَلَّمۡتَنِى مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِ‌ۚ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَنتَ وَلِىِّۦ فِى ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأَخِرَةِ‌ۖ تَوَفَّنِى مُسۡلِمً۬ا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ

“My Lord! You have indeed bestowed on me of the sovereignty, and taught me the interpretation of dreams; The (only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Wali (Protector, Helper, Supporter, Guardian, etc.) in this world and in the Hereafter, cause me to die as a Muslim (the one submitting to Your Will), and join me with the righteous.” [12:101]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated about Moosaa [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]:

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَـٰقَوۡمِ إِن كُنتُمۡ ءَامَنتُم بِٱللَّهِ فَعَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلُوٓاْ إِن كُنتُم مُّسۡلِمِينَ

And Musa (Moses) said: “O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allah’s Will).” [10:84]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated that the [former] magicians [may Allaah have mercy upon them] who believed in Moosaa [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said:

قَالُواْ لَا ضَيۡرَ‌ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ

إِنَّا نَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

They said: “No harm! Surely, to our Lord (Allah) we are to return; “Verily! We really hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers [in Musa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has brought from Allah].” [26: 50-51]

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنۡ ءَامَنَّا بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَآءَتۡنَا‌ۚ رَبَّنَآ أَفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡنَا صَبۡرً۬ا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسۡلِمِينَ

And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims.” [7: 126]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated in the story of Sulayman [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] that Bilqees [may Allaah have mercy upon her] said regarding Sulayaan’s letter:

إِنَّهُ ۥ مِن سُلَيۡمَـٰنَ وَإِنَّهُ ۥ بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

أَلَّا تَعۡلُواْ عَلَىَّ وَأۡتُونِى مُسۡلِمِينَ

“Verily! It is from Sulaiman (Solomon), and verily! It (reads): In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful; “Be you not exalted against me, but come to me as Muslims (true believers who submit to Allah with full submission)’”. [27: 30-31]

And that Sulaymaan [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said:

قَالَ يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلۡمَلَؤُاْ أَيُّكُمۡ يَأۡتِينِى بِعَرۡشِہَا قَبۡلَ أَن يَأۡتُونِى مُسۡلِمِينَ

He said: “O chiefs! Which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me as Muslims [surrendering themselves in obedience?”] [27: 38]

And Allaah [The Exalted] stated that Sulaymaan [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said about Bilqees [may Allaah have mercy upon her]:

وَأُوتِينَا ٱلۡعِلۡمَ مِن قَبۡلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسۡلِمِينَ

Knowledge was bestowed on us before her, and we were submitted to Allah (in Islam as Muslims before her). [27: 42]

And Allaah [The Exalted] stated about Bilqees [may Allaah have mercy upon her]:

قَالَتۡ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِى وَأَسۡلَمۡتُ مَعَ سُلَيۡمَـٰنَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ

“My Lord! Verily, I have wronged myself, and I submit (in Islam, together with Sulaiman (Solomon), to Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).” [27: 44]

And Allaah [The Exalted] stated about the Prophets of Bani Israaeel [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them]:

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَا ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ فِيہَا هُدً۬ى وَنُورٌ۬‌ۚ يَحۡكُمُ بِہَا ٱلنَّبِيُّونَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسۡلَمُواْ لِلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ

Verily, We did send down the Taurat (Torah) [to Musa (Moses)], therein was guidance and light, by which the Prophets, who submitted themselves to Allah’s Will, judged the Jews. [5: 44]

And Allaah [The Exalted] stated about the disciples:

وَإِذۡ أَوۡحَيۡتُ إِلَى ٱلۡحَوَارِيِّـۧنَ أَنۡ ءَامِنُواْ بِى وَبِرَسُولِى قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَٱشۡہَدۡ بِأَنَّنَا مُسۡلِمُونَ

And when I (Allah) put in the hearts of Al-Hawarieen (the disciples) [of ‘Iesa (Jesus)] to believe in Me and My Messenger, they said: “We believe. And bear witness that we are Muslims.” [5: 111]

So, Allaah [The Exalted] mentioned that all these Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] and their followers were Muslims.

This is makes it clear that the statement: [وَمَن يَبۡتَغِ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمِ دِينً۬ا فَلَن يُقۡبَلَ مِنۡهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ – And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers] and the statement [إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمُ -Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam] do not specifically apply to those whom Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] was sent to [in his era]; rather it is a general ruling that applies to the early and latter generations, and due to this Allaah said:

وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ دِينً۬ا مِّمَّنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُ ۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٌ۬ وَٱتَّبَعَ مِلَّةَ إِبۡرَٲهِيمَ حَنِيفً۬ا‌ۗ وَٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ إِبۡرَٲهِيمَ خَلِيلاً۬

And who can be better in religion than one who submits his face (himself) to Allah (i.e. follows Allah’s Religion of Islamic Monotheism); and he is a good-doer. And follows the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) Hanifa (Islamic Monotheism – to worship none but Allah Alone). And Allah did take Ibrahim (Abraham) as a Khalil (an intimate friend). [4: 125]

And Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَقَالُواْ لَن يَدۡخُلَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ إِلَّا مَن كَانَ هُودًا أَوۡ نَصَـٰرَىٰ‌ۗ تِلۡكَ أَمَانِيُّهُمۡ‌ۗ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَـٰنَڪُمۡ إِن ڪُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِينَ

بَلَىٰ مَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ وَجۡهَهُ ۥ لِلَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحۡسِنٌ۬ فَلَهُ ۥۤ أَجۡرُهُ ۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يَحۡزَنُونَ

And they say, “None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.” These are their own desires. Say (O Muhammad Peace be upon him ), “Produce your proof if you are truthful.” Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allah (i.e. follows Allah’s Religion of Islamic Monotheism) and he is a Muhsin (good-doer i.e. performs good deeds totally for Allah’s sake only without any show off or to gain praise or fame, etc., and in accordance with the Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger Muhammad Peace be upon him ) then his reward is with his Lord (Allah), on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Finally, we repeat once again the fact that rebutting false beliefs, ideas and views does not necessitate bad behaviour, rather Muslims are commanded to behave well towards others.

Dhikr is to be Performed as Much as Possible – Ibn Abbas in Tafseer Ibn Kathir

Alee ibn Abee Talhah (rahimahullah) reported that Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with them both) stated regarding Allah The Most High’s statement

‎اذكروا الله ذكرا كثيرا

Remember Allah with much remembrance. (Al-Ahzaab:41)

Verily, Allah did not obligate an obligation upon his servants except that he legislated a fixed limit for it (1), and then excused its performers when they are in a situation when they are excused (2), except in the case of dhikr (remembrance of Allah) for indeed Allah did not legislate a limit for it and nor is a person excused for abandoning it, except when compelled. Allah said,

فَٱذۡڪُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ قِيَـٰمً۬ا وَقُعُودً۬ا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِڪُمۡ
remember Allah standing, sitting down, and (lying down) on your sides (An-Nisaa:103)

night and day, at land or sea, whilst travelling or resident, when wealthy and in times of poverty, in sickness and in health, in private and public and in all circumstances, He, The Mighty and Majestic said,

‎و سبحوه بكرة و أصيلا

And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon [the early morning (Fajr) and ‘Asr prayers]. (Al-Ahzaab:42)

so if you were to do that (in the manner mentioned by ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with them both)) then Allah will send His Blessings upon you, and the Angels will supplicate for you.

(1) e.g. obligatory prayers are a fixed number (five) with set number of raka’aat, obligatory fasts of Ramadhan are one month every calendar year.

It is obligatory to be wary of negligence and laziness (especially in Ramadhan). Take your portion of rest by way of sleep, there is no problem with that, as long as that does not cause you to be remiss with the (obligatory) prayers.

Do not allow your sleep to dominate your valuable time – the noble time of Ramadhan (due to the many blessings within it). Because it is possible that you will not reach Ramadhan again in other than this year (due to death) and thus you will be deprived of blessings and goodness (if you do not take advantage of your time now).

“The guidance of the Prophet ﷺ with the Quran, is that he use to obtain it from Jibreel (alayhis salaam), Jibreel would convey it onto him from his Lord. So the Prophet ﷺ would begin with acting upon it and teaching it to the people, this is how his guidance was with the Quran.”
