Muhammad ibn Baschār (Rahimahullah- Died 252) said:
“I wanted to travel to seek knowledge, but my mother prevented me, so I obeyed her, and (consequently) blessings were placed in (my acquiring of) knowledge.”
It was said to Abu Haazim (rahimahullaah), “What is closeness? (i.e. a close relationship between two people?); he said, “Strong love (for one another).” Then he was asked, “What is the sweetness (of this strong love)? He said, “To be in agreement (i.e. to agree on what is right and agree in rejecting what is wrong). Then it was said to him, “What is relaxation?” He said, “Paradise.”

Ash Shaykh Abdur Razzaaq bin Abdul Mohsin Al Badr (May Allah preserve them) wrote:
Have you seen if a man was afflicted with severe hunger and delicious food was placed in his hands and he extended his hands (to his mouth) to eat from the food; then it was said to him: “indeed it is poisoned, if you eat from it, it will harm you or destroy you”, will he place his hands in it (eat it) or will he refrain?
Subhaanallah!!
How can a person stay far away from (poisoned) food, fearing it’s harm!! And he doesn’t stay away from sins fearful of their punishment!!
Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: ”The greatest profit in the worldly life is that you preoccupy yourself- every time- with what is more worthy (or obligatory), and with what is more beneficial for (you) in the hereafter”. [Al-Fawaa’id..page 60]
It is idiocy and an offence to (apply) harshness in a place where leniency is to be (applied), and it is weakness and spiritlessness to apply leniency in a place where harshness is to be applied. If it is said: Apply leniency, say: Leniency should be in its place, for the leniency of a young man in other than its place is ignorance.” [Al-Islaam Deenu Kaamilu’ page 12]
